  3. The Story

    AEW-logo-600.png

With WWE losing money at a rapid rate, they made a decision to cut a mass number of superstars and eliminate it's NXT brand leaving many superstars in a limbo. A contract clause allowed many former NXT talent the option to head to RAW or Smackdown or...become an unrestricted free agent.

Just in time for this announcement, the remnants of the Bullet Club, now known as The Elite, were hard at work establishing what they would hope to become a new brand of pro wrestling. After multiple shows, the foundation was laid and the announcement came: All Elite Wrestling.

With Tony Khan on board with the finances, AEW was set to launch with a group of known stars, but would it be enough to land a TV deal? Khan made a phone call that would change everything as he would land a deal to acquire multiple superstars in the brand formerly known as NXT.

WWE had cut cost and still was the premiere show come January, but now, they would for the first time in a long time, face Elite Competition.

  4. Positive

    - Game has so much attention to detail. I loved the detail on each area at the beginning of starting a new game, each region and each character.

    - The ability to talk to each member of the roster is a welcomed addition especially to check on putting guys over and changing gimmicks.

    - Attributes truly make each character feel different, which I think will be a game-changer in RW mods later on.

    - Tournament and more detailed match types are an awesome addition plus the expansion of tag teams, stables and women's wrestling.

    Dislike

    - The interface. It's hard on the eyes and just too busy at times. Someone posted above that the grid is the reason and I agree. Eliminating many of the unnecessary lines and grids will help a bunch.

    - This is a personal preference, but I miss pushes. I don't have an issue with the perceptions, but I feel you could have had both perceptions and kept pushes from a "booker" stand point. Game just feels harder to book, but that's just after two quick months with USPW.

    - It feels like work finding the grades for each match. I feel it should much larger as isn't it the main part of booking the matches and angles?

    - Scrolling and using keys is inconsistent. I feel I'm clicking much more in this game than the last.

Like every TEW and WMMA game, I'm sure so many things will be improved following less than two months, so I have no doubt that eventually, this will be head and shoulders above the previous games.

  5. WWE - October, 2014 ("Mega-Save" featuring RW, C-Verse and various parts of other mods - Began May, 2001)

    YES Movement Continues

Daniel Bryan has taken the WWE by storm the last few months defeating John Cena at WrestleMania for the WWE Title and has since defeated the entire Authority. Now, he gets set to face the returning Sammy Bach, who's fresh off the set of a major Hollywood film and is looking to now become the leading star on Monday Night RAW!

    Crack In The Shield

The four superstars that made up The Shield once looked like one of the most unstoppable forces in pro wrestling history, but greed and jealousy tore the group apart. Jay Chord turned on the group joining The Authority in June and Seth Rollins turned on Ambrose & Reigns in September following winning the MITB Ladder Match. Now, the two teams will clash over the tag titles, but can either team fully trust their teammate?

    The Power Of Frehley

Since cashing in his Money in the Bank contract at SummerSlam, Boobie Frehley has defeated the likes of Brock Lesnar, Jeff Hardy, Tyson Baine and Gage Golden. Now, he faces the returning Phenom: The Undertaker! Can "The Deadman" reclaim the title or with Natural Storm by his side, will The Power be too much for the veteran Undertaker?

    Chickbusters Finally Steal Spotlight

As the wrestling world prepared for a showdown between Alicia Strong and JoJo Rodriguez, the trio of AJ Lee, Kaitlyn and Havok ruined a dream match and the group would use their numbers advantage leading to Havok stealing the Women's Championship from Strong. Strong and JoJo will have to put their differences aside to combat the Chickbusters!

    Ring of Honor

Who Is The Best In The World?

After surviving the Survival of the Fittest Chamber Match at SummerSlam, CM Punk is now to outright number one contender for the ROH World Championship and champion Shinsuke Nakamura has been cleared to return to in-ring competition just in time for Glory by Honor live from Tokyo. CM Punk has been at the top of the ROH mountain before, can he dethrone the "King of Strong Style" in his home country to reclaim the crown?

    Serious Business

The newest titles in the company are the Trios titles and The New Day, in their debut matches as a unit, won the title tournament to become the inaugural champions. They're fun-loving ways aren't a hit with everybody as Dan, Duane and Edd Stone fear the titles will become a "joke like the New Day." The Stones look to take the trios division in a new direction, but the New Day won't let that happen without a fight.

    Shooting From The Hip

Following AJ Styles losing the Survival of the Fittest Chamber match, Gallows & Anderson failing to capture the ROH Tag Titles and Omega and The Bucks losing to the New Day in the Trios Title Tournament, Styles, Gallows, Anderson, Omega and The Jackson Brothers have a closed-door meeting with an unknown superstar. Could a new faction be forming or is something else being cooked up by some of the top stars of ROH?

    The Swiss Superstar

While Kings of Wrestling have dominated the ROH tag team division over the last five years, Cesaro has turned many heads this year with his in-ring ability. After Hero suffered an injury and the Kings lost their titles, Cesaro impressed in the Survival of the Fittest Chamber eliminating both The Miz and Sami Zayn. Can Cesaro continue to surge as a solo act and possibly make the leap into World title contention?

  6. 2020 is a Day One purchase for me just for the all the advanced and improved features. I look forward to checking out what's changed in the game world and just to mess around some.

But, I'm 13 years in on my mega save with RW, C-Verse and more and that would be such a long and difficult conversation. So, I'll play 16 until something peaks my interest to create a long term save in 20 (which I'm sure won't be long!)

A gatekeeper for an old weight class? A star in the making or do you look closely at what their weight limitations are? I imagine a lot of fighters are made to not fight a pound over but their best weight is also usually bang on the limit too?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I'm using a super mod with both RW characters as well as the C-Verse, so I have a ton of options. I look at their walking weight first and try to make it where nobody is cutting like 20lbs to make weight. If a fighter is struggling in a division, I'll move him/her up or down a weight class depending on their walking weight. </p><p> </p><p> A bunch of the fighters in the C-Verse are undersized, so you can find a bunch of guys who can fight at 165 instead of 170/175 or 195 instead of 205.</p>
  9. Ooo I like Prideweight. I'm toying with going full junior/super weights and introducing many more. I'm on the default database so I don't want to go beyond its limits and end up with a load of 'new' fighters being generated by the game.

I imagine the work rankings just regard your Prideweight as Welterweight, Cruiserweight as Light Heavyweight and some of your Super Heavyweights as Heavyweight though?

Yes, if you switch to a bunch of weight classes, you have to really keep track of your own rankings especially in the beginning or you'll "lose fighters." By that I mean they won't leave the company, but they won't show up on your rankings anywhere so you sort of forget about them and they end up sitting out a year or entering a decline if they're old enough. That's the only downfall if you use this method with a big roster that I've found. Other than that, it's a great way to build new stars!

  10. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="cm_p_u_n_k" data-cite="cm_p_u_n_k" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44606" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Hi everyone, I'm thinking of freshening my game up by rearranging my weight classes. Maybe adding more in between, even renaming too. Has anyone else played around with them? What have your thoughts been afterwards?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I always do this in "new age" games. I usually go:</p><p> </p><p> Super Heavyweight: 300-246</p><p> Heavyweight: 245-206</p><p> Light Heavyweight: 205-196</p><p> Cruiserweight: 195-186</p><p> Middleweight: 185-176</p><p> Welterweight: 175-166</p><p> Prideweight: 165-156</p><p> Lightweight: 155-146</p><p> Featherweight: 145-136</p><p> Bantamweight: 135-126</p><p> Flyweight: 125-116</p><p> Strawweight: 115-106</p><p> Atomweight: 105 & Under</p>
  11. <p>Started my game in January of 2003 running both the UFC and Pride. Now, it's February 2010 and I just finished UFC 100. Thought I'd share my title histories.</p><p> </p><p>

    First, here is UFC 100!</p><p>

    <img alt="8W3S4i9h.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8W3S4i9h.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="UQsMg6Fh.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/UQsMg6Fh.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Forrest Griffin continues to be the star of the UFC for the last couple years and will defend the title next against Rampage Jackson! GSP and Nick Diaz rivalry has been heated for two years and this won't help: after GSP outwrestles Diaz for four rounds, a head kick gave Diaz the opportunity he needed to win back the Welterweight Title. Diaz leads the series now 2-1, but I definitely can see them meeting again one day. </p><p> </p><p>

    UFC Heavyweight Championship</p><p>

    <img alt="kn03Giah.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/kn03Giah.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Fedor ran the heavyweight division for years including winning the Pride Heavyweight Grand Prix and the final Pride Openweight Grand Prix. That all came crashing down when Cro Cop landed one head kick to end the long reign and become champion. Those two will meet again this year, but Brock Lesnar is also in the mix for a title shot in 2010.</p><p> </p><p>

    UFC Light Heavyweight Championship</p><p>

    <img alt="OEGzk8rh.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/OEGzk8rh.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Maybe the most exciting division in the UFC the last 7 years, light heavyweight has seen multiple future Hall of Fame Fighters hold the crown. From Tito's and Couture's wrestling to Belfort's and Liddell's power to the changing of the guard to Rashad Evans and Forrest Griffin...the division is always ready to produce a finish. While Griffin is sitting on top now, Rampage Jackson is the #1 contender with young guns Tadamasa Yamada, Kyle Kingsbury, and Jon Jones all continue surging to the top. </p><p> </p><p>

    UFC Middleweight Championship</p><p>

    <img alt="XT4G8Enh.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/XT4G8Enh.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

From the rise and fall of Rich Franklin to the Brazil era, the Middleweight division is another one full of fireworks. Two-Time Champion Anderson Silva has finished five opponents with the title on the line, but has lost the title twice by close decision. With Silva likely heading to 205, undefeated Indonesian Bambang Sriyanto sits at the top, but Matthew Dean and Jacare Souza are both in the mix for the next title shot. </p><p> </p><p>

    UFC Welterweight Championship</p><p>

    <img alt="CJ0ikACh.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/CJ0ikACh.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

The title was passed around some in the early years following the defeat of Matt Hughes, but it found two consistent homes later on in Stockton and Quebec with Nick Diaz and Georges St-Pierre. Nick Diaz shocked GSP with a quick guillotine in their first fight before GSP was able to outwrestle and outgrapple in their rematch leading to a close decision. The trilogy was completed at UFC 100 with GSP up 4-0, but falling to a shocking 5th round TKO by Diaz. Very good chance these two meet a few more times before their careers are over!</p><p> </p><p>

    UFC Lightweight Championship</p><p>

    <img alt="QsepXPFh.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/QsepXPFh.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

For awhile, it looked like the division would be ran by BJ Penn and/or Takanori Gomi before the shocking upset that led to Shannon Gugerty becoming champion (what?). As Gomi declined, Penn won the title back only to be beaten by the fast raising Eddie Alvarez. TUF winner Donald Cerrone waits next though in what should be a Fight of the Year candidate for the 155 Title. </p><p> </p><p>

    UFC Featherweight Championship</p><p>

    <img alt="PwaJYdWh.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/PwaJYdWh.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

The Featherweight division was launched by the UFC in 2007 on the backbone of three fighters: Marlon Sandro (Brazil), Maximo Blanco (Japan), and Urijah Faber (US). Shockingly, young upstart Thierry Quenneville won the Featherweight TUF submitting Faber. In the end, Urijah Faber had the last laugh as he won the title and is quickly becoming a big time draw in the UFC. </p><p> </p><p>

The UFC launched a Bantamweight division in 2009, but has yet to crown a champion due to some odd circumstances (injury to 135 TUF winner Damacio Page and hiatus for #1 ranked Brad Pickett). The rise of Miguel Torres, Dominick Cruz, and Akitoshi Tamura, the division has a lot of potential.</p><p> </p><p>

I'll likely be adding a women's division and flyweight division in the next 2-3 years. If anyone has any questions about the game or wants to know how a certain fighter is doing, I'll post more screenshots!</p>
