1. I feel like regardless one day we will get one. It has to be one of the best selling games behind TEW. All the other games they try and produce don't get that much traction.

I really hope that that is eventually so. It's my most played game after Crusader Kings 2 and Rimworld. There are quite a few things that could be added in a new game.

I don't think Adam would have to immerse himself too much either to improve on WMMA5 despite it being the best game of the series.

  2. As someone who has been making a mod for 7 years and still haven't released anything (admittedly going through long stretches of pausing my work on it):D I know how time consuming mod making is. There are just so many processes for each character. I don't play other folks mods as I'm too busy adding to and playing mine, but I really appreciate the effort of others to create these things for others. A huge time sink.

I'm not taking sides in any disagreement in this thread. I think maybe an alternate thread for player modifications to this mod would be a great idea.

  3. RE: free pictures, yeah. There's a section for "Acceptable Positions" in the Free Picture form where you set the picture to Fighter or Non-Fighter or both.

As for adding them some other way, not as far as I know. It's the same form that you use for fighters, *but* any information that isn't relevant to them can be completely ignored or set to absolutely whatever, because it doesn't show up or make any difference in-game. If they're a Retired Fighter then it would matter if they came out of retirement, but if they're Not A Fighter then all that matters is what the game uses and what you see on their profile (which does include their height, but not even their weight is visible if I remember right) and any fighter skills can be 0 or 100 or anything and it makes no difference... I usually copy and edit existing Non Fighters for my own anxiety reasons, but there's no good reason to do that. Just set up all of the relevant stats and info and the rest can be ignored.

    Cheers for the info.

  4. Hello all,

Wierd question I know... but is the game programmed to select French names for generated Canadian fighters?

CCC opened up in Canada early in my game and a whole heap of fighters generated, just about all with French names. This seems strange because according to the editor Canadian names stem from the 'North American' tag.

You can delete all the canadian names and add them back in yourself. I did that with the UK recently and added only the 200 most popular first and last names for each of the parts of the United Kingdom. I'm enjoying having only the most commonly found names for the British fighters.

I'm planning on doing it for every country in my mod eventually.

  5. (This thread is about mod creation, but thought it was a pretty general topic for those that like to experiment with mods also)

In order to be viable so the ai doesn't close that division (when for example some retire or they just lose too many fights and have to go back to regional circuit)? I just wondered if anyone had experimented with this at all.

  6. What is the maximum number of fighters the game can handle at one time?

Also what is the maximum number of fighters the database can contain including retired characters, or do retired characters not count?

The reason I'm asking is I'm making a very ambitious mod with a huge amount of fighters from each country ( each with a face and body pic), but don't want to find out that effort has gone to waste. Not worried about loading times.

    Cheers,

  7. Okay. You can do this rather easily.

Go look up a video, or read a tutorial, about Photoshop Actions. This is an essential tool in Photoshop that you should learn if you do editing on the regular. It's incredibly powerful for limitless situations. You could create an action to crop the images to a specific dimension.

Photoshop Actions are separate from doing this all at once on multiple files. For this you create the action, then go to File... Automate... Batch to do it on multiple files at once.

Thanks a lot. I'll give that a try tonight.

    Cheers

  8. Hey there,

I've got a ton of full body images and face images which I've edited but are all wrong in terms of height width ratio.

I've got the heights exactly how I want it for all pictures, but need to crop the width of pics to make it fit with the games ratios.

I don't want to squash the images, just want to cut off the excess at the sides of each pic to with the 610/440 body and 1 to 1 ratio of the face photos.

Is there a website that can do this in bulk??

I used one years ago, but it seems to have gone, and all the rest seem to do weird things like squashing the photos.

    Thanks

  9. ...waiting until they retire before asking them to unretire then have to resign them again if they say yes.

It's a little bit annoying when you have a fighter (especially a champion) with 4 fights left on his/her new deal and having just received a large signing bonus to announce his retirement after one more fight, then waiting for the fight to pass then asking him to come back and having to resign him/her with yet another huge signing bonus.

It would be awesome if there was a "reconsider retirement" option available to the fighter interaction page.

  10.
Also, what does the game mean by each of the individual broadcasting skills?

I take it the Analysis stat is describing the the person that discusses the fight after it's over?

Why is it that ex fighters in the game that work in broadcasting only ever have "Analysis" skills?

It would be nice if they could also have play by play and anchoring skills.

Brian Stann, and Dan Hardy are good examples of ex fighters that have "play by play skills" and Kenny Florian is a good example of someone with "anchoring skills".

  11.
If anyone wants a copy of my catfight mod (that's in progress) shoot me a pm. I've just uploaded it to Mega.

Please keep in mind that the uploaded mod is only a fraction of what is currently being worked on which is probably around 4 to 5 times the size.

(I haven't made the mod using WMMA4 because I prefer WMMA3, but am going to port it over to WMMA5 if I prefer it to the third game (which I still think is awesome).

  12. To all those that I messaged about a trial of this mod, I've decided to hold off for a little bit and add lot's more things to the mod. I probably won't release a trial until after the new game drops now as I think that I'll have to make so many additions.

Still working on it every night though. The final version will have around 1500 female fighters (each with a face and body pic).
