1. So, where do we go for the twitch thing? I've never used twitch, do I need an account?
 2. Whoever I'm getting, I'll lay the smackdown on all your asses because born_naughty said so. And if you're not down with that, I have 7 words for you: Do you smell what I'm cooking? Bang Bang!
 3. Since everyone else goes for WWE guys I'll be going for Alexander Hammerstone.
 4. Cool, thx! How about cheat codes? Will there be a list somewhere?
 5.
I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't specifically find it and would like to know before the release.

When the demo or the full release is here, how do go about starting a game? I know I won't be able to use the new features but can I just use a TEW16 mod and load it into TEW20? Or what do I do to make it work?

Will the same cheat codes form 2016 still work? Is there any info about the cheatcodes for TEW20?

 6. Hyped?! It scares the bejesus out of me each and every time I booth the thing up. TEW16 has shortened my life by months, at the very least. It's bad for your health is what it is. Now shut up and take all my money.

I know jobbers aren't used as much anymore but they are needed in a well booked wrestling company in any era.

Hopefully I can book a product where wins and losses factor in a HUGE deal, and whether a guy had a flashy moveset or a "good work rate" won't make a difference. This is crucial for pre 90's games. Likewise, I wouldn't necessarily have any interesti n playing this type of game, but hopefully there is also the option for a product where the workrate is almost all that matters to the fans, because they don't actually believe in the matches, like most modern promotions.

Even in old school booking a great performance in a loss against a top guy was still a big deal and could make you more popular. That has always been the case, from the 6O's until the 2060's and beyond, that will never change. However, in TEW16 you had the option to put "Traditional" very high in your product which also affected this. So I'm sure this feature will not be forgotten in TEW20.

That would be a too easy way to get rid of difficult workers.

I'm still worried but I do have trust in Adam Ryland and Grey Dog Software. They've been doing great work.

 11. I don't really understand it but I just hope you're right about this. Thanks either way.

 13. Wait, what?! I thought I read everything there was to read about tew2020. I missed this. Please elaborate, where in the journal does it say that? Oh and thank you so much for your response. Appreciate it.
 14.
Match type balance

So, although I'm very passionate about wrestling and TEW I haven't really said much on this forum. After my last experience I needed to process my thoughts to better express my feelings.

Some time ago I expressed my dissatisfaction with how Chemistry and experience make the 2 on 2 tag team matches superior to everything else in TEW2016. That makes for an unbalanced game. My post was kind off brushed aside and I'm to blame for that because I hadn't fully explained my standpoint. So now I'm going to try again and hopefully this will start a meaningful conversation.

I think we can all agree that when you take tag team chemistry, tag team experience and maybe even managers with chemistry for everyone involved that 2 on 2 tag team matches are the easiest way of getting high ratings in TEW2016.

Now I get that TEW doesn't have to be a 100% balanced game and if you don't like something then simply don't do it. That's basically how it is designed and I like that. But without much effort these tag team matches always seem to take over every show I book. Maybe this is just me right? Well no, the AI matches are exactly the same way, where booking the same match over and over again is the standard. This advantage for tag team matches goes so far in TEW2016 that I would call it game-breaking. In fact, if I'm truly honest, I don't really see the point in having a TEW2020 without addressing this at least a tiny bit.

From the reactions I got last time, I understood that the main counterpoint was that tag team matches are a type of match were not a lot goes wrong when you have good teams. It was implied that tag team matches are indeed the superior form of wrestling.

I'd like to discuss this further. While it is true that when you take two good tag teams, not a lot can go wrong. That doesn't necessarily mean the match is superior. That just means that this is a "safe" match to book. When you book two good tag teams together there is only a small chance that the match will be bad. But that doesn't mean all of them become instant classics does it? I'd even argue that the true classics are mostly singles matches. For one thing, tag team matches are good "stand alone" matches but they it's very difficult to have a good story in the tag team division. How many tag team matches have you seen where you are really emotionally involved? How many had a good story or rivalry attached? It really doesn't happen often. In singles matches you can get much more personal. With the right psychology involved you can have a better story between the ropes as well. So while singles matches ask a lot more of individual workers and therefore have a bigger chance of being bad or even terrible, with the right workers and good psychology these are the true masterpieces. And isn't wrestling all about storytelling?

There are other forms of wrestling. You have triple threats, fatal four ways and so on. These match types basically have the same advantages and disadvantages. Because more people are involved, it's easier not to spot the flaws. Multiman matches like this are almost always watchable and often very entertaining. But the same thing applies: the true classics aren't found here because of a lack of psychology and storytelling from bell to bell. And again, the more people are involved, the more difficult it is to get emotionally attached to the story.

Even if we follow the logic of tag team matches being better then other matches, wouldn't this also apply to 3 on 3 matches and so on? Because the way TEW2016 works, only 2 on 2 matches (or 2 on 2 on 2 and so on) have the advantages of chemistry. I was given the argument that the Shield in WWE back in the day were having classic matches week in and week out. That's true, and many of those matches were 3 on 3 matches. Finding trio chemistry in TEW2016 is nigh impossible and experience also doesn't apply. By now we should all know that 3 on 3 matches are just as good. We have seen many trios emerge as this type of match is becoming more common in just about every major promotion there is. The Shield, The Wyatts, New Day, SCU, the kingdom, the hart foundation, Ivelisse/Havoc/Angelico... the list goes on and on. All of them having great matches week in week out.

What I'm trying to point out is that no one match type is superior to another. Every match type has it's own advantages and disadvantages. It's also not easier to make a true classic in tag teaming then it is in any other match type.

After reading this, can you really tell me that 2 on 2 matches are superior to everything else? Can you still tell me that the way tag team booking works in TEW2016 is the perfect way it should be?

 15. Yeah, how mean is Adam, huh? In his original journal post he said TEW2020 might come as soon as christmas 2019. Now he's talking about april-july 2020. Seriously though, I rather have him taking his time for a complete product. I don't want an unfinished product, nor do I want people crunching themselves to death for a release as seems to be standard affair in videogame land.
 16. The thing is, in a tag team match you have twice the chemistry AND the experience edge twice in one match. Making it super easy to make great tag team matches. And while a stand-alone tag team match may be easier to set up in real life, making an engaging tag team storyline is a much harder affair. In a long term personal storyline singles matches work much better then tag team matches. So it's not like tag team wrestling is superior, it's just a different animal. Besides, even if tag team matches are better... the same advantage from regular tag team matches (chemistry and experience) doesn't apply to 6 man tags because there you have neither of those. I'm just saying that in the game, imo, every match type should be equally difficult to book. No one match type is superior to another match type, they are just different and have their own advantages/disadvantages. I love me same tag team matches but I also love the more personal approach of singles matches or the chaos of a fatal four way.
 17.
Chemistry and tag teams

How does chemistry work in TEW 2020?

The way it stands in TEW 2016 tag team wrestling is overpowered. Not only does a tag team match drain less stamina (makes sense) but because of the chemistry it's way too easy to make a great tag team match in contrast to other matches.

Tag team matches have several advantages. It's not hard to find people with tag team chemistry, couple that with tag team experience and before you know it you're booking classic tag matches on a weekly basis even though your single matches are lagging behind.

I think every type of match should have an equal chance of being a good match. I love tag team matches but often times the real classics are tag matches are multiman matches.

Also, I think the penalties for booking the same match over and over again should be higher. That might just be me though. As it stands you can basically do the same exact awards winning match every two months without any penalty for as long as the people in question can wrestle. Now off course I can make the choice to just nog book that way, and that's what I do. But the AI always books matches that way.

 18.
Tag team matches overpowered

Okay, if this has been asked before please tell me.

Imo the tag team matchen in TEW2016 are overpowered. It's easy to get all kinds of bonusses. First you get two tag teams who both have excellent chemistry. Second you get their experience up so they both have 100. If you want you can look for chemistry with a manager for all 4 wrestlers.

It takes a bit of searching but it's not difficult and once you have that it's easy to get 99-100 rated matches each and every time.

Now, the only restriction you get is that you can't put the exact same match on for more then 3 times in 6 months without getting a penalty. But just get a third good tag team and you can keep switching between those three for years to come and have them headline ppv's for eternity.

Okay okay, I know what you're saying, you can do this with single matches as well. But with tag team matches you can get so much more advantages (chemistry and tag team experience) that it's so much easier. Plus, it's much more difficult to find 3 guys that have chemistry against each other then three tag teams that have chemistry with each other. As a result all the top matches in my game are all tag team matches.

So my question is, is there any setting I can use that can nerf this effect? Is this something anyone else experiences as well? Am I overlooking something about single matches that makes it harder to get a high rating? Am I overcompensating my lack of a social life by putting all my time and energy into TEW? Anything that might be of use.

An avatar is an avatar, regardless of whether it was specified as a user character in the mod or not.

Thank you for your time.

 20.
What is the purpose of a user avatar in the game? We're playing a multiplayer game and we're in the same alliance with alliance titles.

Because an avatar cannot go to another company we were not able to defend the alliance title with an avatar.

So I went into the mod database and changed my avatar and unselected that it's a user avatar.

Not only can I now go to another show with this character, I can still keep playing with the same company and have not encountered any issues yet.

 21.
Road agent

Hi. So I know a good road agent needs psychology first and respect second. But what is the advantage of a good road agent? I was using the $400 per appearance Ayumi who is good and now I'm using the $2000 per appearance Tom Prichard which should be a great road agent.

My matches don't get any better rating and I don't get any more information. so what am I spending my money on?

I the intel (like in-ring performance) of a good road agent more accurate? do the workers have less off-days?

 22.
cover travel expenses or not?

Is there any kind of penalty for not covering travel expenses? I've systematically not covered travel expenses and no one is complaining. I don't have the impression that workers ask for more money or anything.

 23. no new referees or announcers Since playing TEW2016 I haven't seen a single new announcer or referee in the whole game. I started in augustus 2016 and we're now 2 years later in the game and still no new referee or announcer. Has anyone else noticed this issue? Not sure if this deserves a seperate thread or not. EDIT: I've also only seen 1 new manager and personality (same worker).

By changing my product I have indeed figured out that Quite favorable is better.
