1.
LazarN made some good points about Impact Wrestling earlier. I'd like to add a few more:

Eddie Edwards is a babyface: he changed gimmick but didn't turn. It looks like his Entertainment stats are a bit out of date now that he's been in Impact's angle-heavy environment for four years. I think his talking is a little worse than Tommy Dreamer's but he's about as Charismatic.

Caleb Konley doesn't come across as more of a Star than Trevor Lee, and definitely has less Charisma.

Fallah Bahh is extremely entertaining in angles. It's hard to say how good he'd be on the Mic without the Pokemon gimmick, but he's definitely a charismatic guy and a fair actor. He's been doing skits with KM and the two are probably on the same overall level. In the ring, his style comes across more as Entertainer than Brawler; he bumps and sells well (especially considering his girth) and he has a good connection with the crowd in his Comedy matches, but I don't recall being wowed by his moves. I also think he's too short to be a Super Heavyweight - Big Heavyweight is probably enough. Finally, he is a fairly decent athlete despite his appearance.

Grado does not have an average body. I think he'd be happy to be typed "Flabby". He's also a poor athlete. (It's very surprising that he gets rated higher than Fallah Bahh, slightly ahead of Tessa Blanchard, and only a little worse than Santana.)

Hernandez looks more Bulky than Muscular these days. Age catches up with all of us. He might also be in age decline - at any rate, he comes across as powerful but not all that athletic these days.

Homicide also looks like he's hitting age decline.

John Hennigan is probably too much of an all-rounder with his top row skills. He's certainly good at everything, but his flash and aerial skills stand out as strengths.

Abyss just isn't what he used to be. He's still a big guy and has power, but age and injuries have destroyed his speed.

Killer Kross stands out on the Impact roster. He is definitely charismatic and his promos are solid. On-camera is quite subjective but I think he's clearly more menacing than Eli Drake.

Eddie Kingston has been working hard on his promos in the last few years. He's not on Konnan's level but his mic skills are now a standout.

KM is good at comedy.

Kongo Kong isn't a flashy brawler, but he's not boring either. I'd suggest putting him about midway between Eli Drake and Brian Cage in that regard. (As an aside, he's significantly more athletic than Abyss or Grado, though both of them seem to be over-rated.)

Matt Sydal seems to be transitioning from Cruiserweight to Technician and working a safer style as a consequence. His strength is still flash and aerial, but he's employing more submissions. Like other Impact people, he's worked on his entertainment skills and his promos aren't bad these days.

Pentagon Jr.'s overall stats make him out to be a very good high flier who is also very charismatic, which seems at odds with how he wrestles these days. He's a charismatic entertainer with some flashy moves. (I'm also unconvinced by his look. Sami Callihan was able to impersonate him, which isn't a good sign.)

Fenix is a bit better-rounded than he's made out to be. Yes, he is a wonderful flyer but he can grapple and his strikes look OK.

Su Yung isn't a very good wrestler but she can sell and has a great gimmick. (The best match I've seen her in was against Saraya Knight at a Rise show. Su's job was to sell attempted homicide and she definitely did her part.)

Taya has built up her body, uses power moves, and doesn't show as much skin these days. Her distribution of on-camera seems dated and while it's hard to judge shoot strength in wrestling she's presented as one of the most powerful women on Impact.

Speaking of changing looks, Tessa Blanchard has spent a lot of time in the gym since she was typed as skinny! She's definitely somewhere in the toned-muscular zone now and that look makes her stand out. Her promos are good - she sounds shrill but that could be a heel affectation.

Impact's backstage interviewers, McKenzie Mitchell and Alicia Atout, probably warrant inclusion. Atout is a little more charismatic, Mitchell has better on-camera qualities, and both are poised on the mic.

It's not necessary to have all of Impact's new referees, but Kris "Ref Riley" Lewin's boyish looks have gotten him a bit of a cult following so he would be a good pick.

 2.

Excellent stuff. I shall use that when I get home to update the people mentioned. Thanks for taking the time.

No problem! I also noticed that the media setup is a little off. Representing Impact as owned by Anthem stops them from signing the new deals that they're actually getting (like Spike UK) and apparently pursuing (like Spike) due to clashes with the Fight Network. It might be better not to use the owner tag - Adam's notes say that it's for companies that are set up to provide content for a network, which isn't really the case with Impact.

On the topic of Spike UK, it would be a fairly easy add, sharing the same logo as the parent channel in North America. The channel draws .29% of homes in the UK, somewhere between Sky 3/4 (.06% and .11% respectively) and Sky 2 (.4%), so probably Medium across the British Isles and with requirements that Impact can meet. One option would be a low overness requirement but Cult level or above. That would mean Spike UK is out of the reach of most promotions.

 3. Hi Fleisch! New computer for me, just pulled down your latest DB. I jotted down a few notes on some of the standouts from the last year of Impact, as it seems like various developments haven't been included and the data was starting to look a little dated. Then the notes got too long so I've thrown them into a pastebin. Thanks again for the mod, hope my notes help!
 4. Playing Rising Storms (1991) as WCW. Brought in Buddy Rose and had him feud with Lex Luger over who was the real "Total Package" in wrestling. Unfortunately Lex got injured before the blow-off so "The Total Package" Buddy Rose wandered around doing other things. In a random tag, he turned out to have excellent chemistry with Bobby Eaton. I figured that two hands as good as Buddy & Bobby were worth using as a team anyway, but with this they were going to be a fixture. All the more so as Jimmy Garvin had just broken his back. On a whim, I tried them out with Ron Wright. Both of them have excellent chemistry with Ron. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

In any case, it's easily resolved. Just sign Del Rio (who has plenty of upside) and she'll be fine.

Whether ADR should be prepared to come back to WWE so quickly is a matter of opinion. I kinda feel that he should have a simmering tensions with Vince, so it's up to players whether to take the owner slot and avoid issues or play as booker and deal with WWE's history.

 6.

I'd argue that the lightweight/middleweight divide should be focused on if they can compete for lightweight titles

That's not what's in the manual, though. <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Players are told that the size classes have to do with weight modified by height and body shape.

 7. A few notes from my World Conquest save. These are all nitpicks that cropped up in the process of signing hundreds of wrestlers. Unfortunately, there are others that escaped me because I stopped paying attention after the first hundred or so or the profiles didn't stand out. Alexia Nicole (Small) is described a 4'11" and under one hundred pounds in her mod bio (and this is correct). She should be Very Small. Kenneth Cameron (Lightweight) is billed at 6'3" and 238 lbs. He should definitely be a Middleweight and his height and build do make him look fairly imposing. Allysin Kay/Sienna (Small) is billed at 6' and 143lbs, actually a bit bigger than Charlotte Flair (Lightweight). Marshe Rockett (Lightweight) is very close to Middleweight at 6'5", 211lbs, and I think with his height he should be up a class. More importantly, his available sizes at the moment are Small and Lightweight. Marshe might be able to lose thirty pounds but I doubt that he could wrestle afterwards! He should probably have two sizes available to go up, whether he's starting at Lightweight or Middleweight. Quinn Ojinnaka is placed as a Heavyweight, which I'm guessing has to do with his billed 6'5" 299lbs. However, that's his legit height and weight. I suspect that he'd get billed heavier if his legit weight wasn't widely known. The nearest point of comparison is Lashley, who gets put at a Big Heavyweight from a probably legit 6'3" 278lbs - it's heavier than his MMA fight weights but that's what you'd expect. At the very least, the mod shouldn't be putting Ojinnaka in as smaller than Lashley.

If it helps, I've started my WWE World Conquest game and although the start is logistics, logistics, logistics, I'm enjoying it so far. Vince has made things more Interesting already by putting a ban on signing cruiserweights, so I may not be able to kill ROH for a couple of years. <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I'll still TRY to kill them, though. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

 9.
And now for something completely different

I have finally learned enough about TEW2016 to feel up to writing a gameplay diary. My premise is simple: Vince McMahon is 71 and there are other wrestling promotions in the world. Trump will be in the Whitehouse to nip anti-trust legislation in the bud, so the time has come for:

WORLD DOMINATION

Watch in amazement as WWE signs literally hundreds of wrestlers to written deals!

Despair at the destruction of a once vibrant indie scene!

Shudder at the prospect of World Wrestling Entertainment becoming the only provider of wrestling outside of a back yard.

Coming soon to a thread near you!

 10.

from what I'm being told, people were saying their first Raw & Smackdown Live shows were getting penalties for not having enough hot storylines running. If that's not the case then I'm going to stop updating the stories each month (I don't play as WWE so tend to go by feedback for them).

I fooled around with a save from the December update and it was simple enough to get the stories going on RAW and push them along on Smackdown. Running the E was also less tedious than expected! So I'm going to download your January files and try to achieve World Conquest before Vince dies. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

 11.

Yeah Starting Storylines are literally only there because WWE players complained that they had to begin with no stories and couldn't build the heat quick enough. I didn't have time to update them twice this month. I updated them in December and then they all changed within a week of me updating them. If I updated them every time they changed I'd probably end up changing them every week. I might leave them until the 4th week of each month to update but even then you can guarantee they'll be out of date by release.

That's really strange. A storyline comes out with the heat of its starting segment. So if someone was booking WWE and opened RAW with an angle on the Authority storyline, it should begin at about 80. Starting another hot storyline on the first RAW of the save isn't hard either - it's actually easier than trying to juice up the existing storylines! I guess a lot of people play WWE with your mod but updating their stories with every update seems like a waste of time. <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

 12. New Zealand's Impact Pro Wrestling is probably the most prominent in that corner of "Australia".
 13.

I mean, Charlotte is one of the only reasons I like Raw right now, and I doubt I'm the only person out there that likes the women more than most of the men. Like I said before, these stats are opinion based, and if Fleisch thinks the women shouldn't be rated high, it's his opinion.

In terms of overness, there are metrics for setting the ballpark. We might not be able to get an objective measure of who should be 68 Overness in Mid-Atlantic and who should be 67, but working out who is in the "C"s across the US compared to who is in the "B"s is a lot easier. If you want to call for a change, it's better to appeal to data rather than just ask for your opinion to be represented. So, perhaps you could take a look at social media followers and google trends (making sure to use the search topics rather than search terms, otherwise edge and christian will demand over 9000 overness to this day <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> ) and do some comparisons, remembering that heels will tend to be less followed than faces.

This isn't my project so I'm not going to try proving your case, but I did take a glance at Twitter. It's notable that all of the Horsewomen have fewer followers than Mark Henry, Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler - or, for that matter, Paige and Natalia. That suggests that they're not as over, though Google Trends is more sensitive to recent changes and might paint a different picture.

 14.
Hi GloryVersers! I want to get back to contributing to this project but... it's starting to become a wall of words without much organisation. Checking the google document wasn't much help either. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I think it would be a good idea to set up a wiki for the GloryVerse. This would help with getting the database set up because contributions would then be searchable within the wiki and carry links to related articles. In addition, the wiki would become a help file for new players once the mod is released. I have a fair bit of experience working with wikis, so I would be happy to do set-up work like creating templates to make entering data less of a chore. How does that sound?

 15. That sounds tough but I'm glad to hear you're still at it. Indeed, events seem to have vindicated your predictions - although not with the best result! Maybe you could take advantage of the delay to start the mod in December 2016 with a different outcome to Corgan's October lawsuit?
 16.

I'd say it's unrealistic to use the eye candy to get a better match rating, as it isn't used as a thing in the real life product. A Bayley/Dana match got a D+ for me without that aim.

I'm not sure about that. The Diva match is Eye Candy with very low risk, so it's basically trading on beauty + performance skills rather than being a completely crass lingerie match. It's not as though WWE's female talent wear the kind of ring gear that women have in MMA!

I figured the top women (4 Horsewomen) should be at around an upper midcarder level (so around a C-/C. I said B but I did not realize that was main event level in the mod, my bad), but that could be a bit high (even though that reflects their status in real life). Fleisch's 10 point pop suggesting seems fine.

Have you looked at how much of a difference that makes to their match ratings? Just going off my vague understanding of the game mechanics, popularity>performance settings basically just change the ratio of overness:top row scores (or Sex Appeal if you're using Eye Candy) before psychology is factored in from 50:50 at pop=perf to 60:40. So if you add 10 points of overness to the women, they're getting maybe 6 points added to their contribution to the match and less than that if their psychology limits them.

 17.

A match like you suggested has a suitable rating, but from what I've seen, that's not the norm.

The match notes had Dana off her game and more time would have gotten a better rating. I didn't use any superscience to jack up their match grade. They went on as the second match to a hot crowd. I'd tried to get the crowd buzzing but Neville & Kendrick's car crash wasn't spectacular enough. As noted, the match got dinged for a short time. Without knowing how you book, I can only guess at the differences, but perhaps it's that I used the Eye Candy match aim?

I've just been suggesting at least some form of popularity change for the next release.

Understood. I'm just asking what sort of rating you think they should get and trying to work out whether it's the database or the booking that explains the gap between expectation and result.

edit: Just took a look at Sasha/Charlotte. Perversely, it didn't rate as well as Bayley/Dana. Bayley/Charlotte wasn't as good, either. In both cases, the "better" matches were being brought down by lack of psychology. Matches between Emmalina and Bayley seem to be the best-rated women's matches on RAW, because both have good psychology. I leave it up to people more interested in WWE's product to decide whether that's how it should be or not, but if an adjustment needs to be made I recommend altering the performance skills rather than overness.

 18.

I understand that B may be high, but at least put them at a level where they're capable of putting on good matches in WWE's pop. based environment. In the scheme of things the top women are at least midcarders for WWE, so their pop should reflect that.

How good a performance do you want from them? I don't have any real interest in booking WWE, but I threw together a RAW show on a fresh save and a ten minute Bayley vs. Dana Brooke match pulled a 68. (Bayley carried it with 72 to Dana's 58 and it got a short time limit). That looks like Upper Midcard vs. Lower Midcard numbers to me...

 19. Thanks for this mod, Mammoth! It's a little sad that Rickard's promotion in New Zealand is too poorly documented to include, as the Australia region could use another fed. But I can't really hold that against you. However, the implementation of Joint Promotions is fantastic. I'm going to try going all "McMahon" on the the UK - just signed Big Daddy and he agreed to lose weight!
 20. Playing WCW lives, mostly as you'd expect. Except that I just sent a young CM Punk to rehab for help with his soft drugs problem.
 21.
Hi Fleisch, big fan of the mod! I opened the latest (December 2016) file to do a TNA save and the gimmicks & dispositions were a bit surprising. Also some other stuff like EC3 having an average body type, but mainly the gimmicks. Notes follow:

"Broken" Matt Hardy: Currently Crazy (Below Average). Hardy's "Broken Brilliance" has been critically acclaimed this year so I'm baffled by the low rating. Considering the success of the Broken gimmick, I would have expected a custom gimmick, or at least Charismatic Enigma.

Abyss: Monster (Very Good). Sure.

Aiden O'Shea: Bad Ass (Below Average). Bad Ass seems to have been a default setting for TNA's roster. The O'Shea character has actually been operating as Billy Corgan's Sidekick since his introduction. This act carried on after Corgan left TNA, with O'Shea doing vignettes with workers going in to see "the boss". He would probably fit SIDEKICK (Unique) better.

Al Snow: Staff Member (Average). Snow's character of late hasn't been a backstage member of staff. He's been an on-screen character as the manager of the Tribunal and an occasional wrestler. After his face turn, Snow is probably working a LEGEND (Unique) gimmick.

Allie: Cocky (Above Average). She never worked a cocky gimmick in TNA. Allie was introduced as an ANNOYING sidekick for Maria Kanellis, but she's since made her face turn and her act is probably best described as a FORCED HEEL gimmick.

Andrew Everett: Cocky (Below Average). Probably fine.

Aron Rex: Genius (Below Average). This isn't Rex's gimmick. He's working as an OLD SCHOOL HEEL, complete with a dubiously taped fist used for knockout blows and a towel with some sort of irritant in it.

Baron Dax & Basile Baraka: Bad Ass (Below Average & Great respectively). These guys were introduced as Evil Foreigners, but after turning on Al Snow the "Tribunal" they have been played up as judge, jury, and executioner. They're probably closest to LAW ENFORCER.

Bram: Bad Ass (Average). After being repackaged as part of the DCC, Bram's gimmick is probably MAN ON A MISSION. It's not really clear what the DCC want but James Storm's rambly promos indicate that they have some sort of great goal to achieve. (Arguably they're Anti-Authority but RWC has that as a Face gimmick.) One option for the DCC is ANONYMOUS, as the DCC gimmick is clearly derived from the internet organisation of the same name.

Brandi Rhodes: Old School Face (Very Good). Yep.

Braxton Sutter: Old School Face (Average). This is about right.

Brother Nero: Crazy (Average). In a similar boat to Broken Matt and clearly helped to develop the Broken gimmick, but his on-screen performance isn't as out there. Really could stay with Charismatic Enigma as it's a Generic gimmick in RWC.

Caleb Konley: Arrogant Heel (Above Average). He hasn't really featured on Impact, so - sure?

Cody: Old School Face (Very Good). Cody's TNA act was Second Generation - his theme starts off with the line "There is more than one royal family in wrestling".

Crazzy Steve: Weirdo (Great). A lot of Weird and Crazy gimmicks are in the zone of what Steve's doing right now and this is as good as any.

Davey Richards: No Gimmick Needed (Average). We haven't seen Davey in ages, but it's probably right.

Dixie Carter: Authority Figure (Legendary). If you can read that without laughing, leave it as it is.

DJZ: DJ (Average). I guess? His current entrance is kinda Daft Punk, but beyond that he's not really pushing the DJ angle.

Drew Galloway: Old School Face (Above Average). He hasn't been a face for some time, having turned shortly after Aron Rex's debut. His current gimmick is BITTER as his promos often reference the ungrateful fans and how he never should have stood up for them.

Eddie Edwards: No Gimmick Needed (Poor). Eddie's gimmick transitioned to UNDERDOG during his feud with Lashley and that act has defined his championship run.

Eli Drake: Old School Heel (Above Average). The Eli Drake character doesn't cheat that often. He's much closer to the Arrogant Heel/Obnoxious gimmick, constantly insulting the babyfaces and fans.

EC3: Cocky (Average). Maybe. EC3's face act is practically a Sting tribute, so I would tend to think of him as a Fan Favourite or Old School face.

Gail Kim: Old School Face (Below Average). Once it was announced that she would be inducted into the HoF, and perhaps a bit before that, Gail was being given the LEGEND treatment.

Grado: Fun Babyface (Great). Maybe in Scotland. In TNA, he's a Comedy character and "Fun Foreigner" is a much better fit.

Gregory Shane Helms: Cocky (Below Average). It's not a bad fit but really he's an Old School Manager in almost all of his appearances of late. (Apocalypto was the exception and that really doesn't count.)

Jade: Fan Favourite (Very Good). Probably right.

James Storm: Bad Ass (Below Average). Should share a gimmick with Bram and Kingston.

Jessie Godderz: Cocky (Average). He hasn't been Cocky since reforming the Bro-Mans. Jessie's current gimmick is probably Old School Face.

Kingston: Bad Ass (Above Average). Like the rest of the DCC, he's part of an invading faction rather than a stand-up ass-kicker so he should have the same as Bram & Storm.

Lashley: Legitimate Athlete (Great). Not since his turn. Lashley is an ARROGANT HEEL these days.

Laurel Van Ness: Old School Heel (Poor). Laurel's TNA gimmick is pretty entertaining and definitely cocky. I'd probably put her down as THE FUTURE.

Madison Rayne: Old School Face (Very Good). Sure.

Mahabali Shera: Fun Babyface (Great). Still accurate.

Mandrews: Underdog (Above Average). He's just turned Heel so the next update should reflect that. Short of any further appearances, I'd say that the's JEALOUS of DJ Z's success - that was certainly the story of his turn.

Maria Kanellis: Bitch (Below Average). This is adequate but EGOMANIAC would be closer to Maria's "FIRST Lady of Professional Wrestling" gimmick.

Marshe Rockett: Thrill Seeker (Above Average). Marshe works as a Cocky Heel in TNA. He has proclaimed himself as THE FUTURE of the X-Division, so that's probably the best gimmick.

Marti Belle: Cocky (Below Average). Maybe? Her post-Doll House character is probably closer to BITCH.

Mike Bennett: Chosen One (Very Good). Bennett doesn't act alongside an authority figure the way that Chosen One would imply. He's probably just an ARROGANT HEEL.

Moose: Dual-Sport Superstar (Average). Yep.

Raquel: Old School Face (Average). Her character in TNA is totally looks based. She's using BABE.

Rebel: Arrogant Heel (Above Average). This is OK but I think she's been released. (No longer on Cagematch's TNA roster.)

Reby Hardy: Bitch (Realistic). She's doing the same Broken gimmick as the Hardy Brothers, though not nearly as entertainingly. Again, short of making a new custom gimmick, she could have Charismatic Enigma.

Robbie E.: Cocky (Average). Robbie has been doing COMIC RELIEF angles with Grado for weeks.

Rockstar Spud: Turncoat (Very Good). Spud's current gimmick is probably COMIC RELIEF as he is routinely the butt of the joke.

Rosemary: Weirdo (Great). Sure.

Sienna: Bitch (Above Average). This is probably on target now. She was doing a Brute gimmick as Maria's enforcer, but with Laurel coming in Sienna seems to be doing her own thing.

Tigre Uno: Thrill Seeker (Below Average). I think he's been released (again, Cagematch), but this is fine.

Trevor Lee: Cocky (Average). Not particularly. I could buy Trevor's TNA character as a HILLBILLY or SLOB, but he's not really a braggart.

Tyrus: Bodyguard (Great). He's not acting as Matt Hardy's muscle any more, though this gimmick isn't far off what he's doing as "The Fixer". I think Tyrus's Face act is probably Bad Ass at the moment, short of a more specialised gimmick like "Gun for Hire".

 22. I recommend playing and writing at whatever schedule is fun for you. That's the first important thing about the diary. If you don't enjoy it, you've just taken on a job for no pay. Then your concerns about the audience take root. I think it's fine to update a little more frequently at the start, because you need to establish that you're writing something consistently. Once there's double-digits of posts, the diary might need to slow up a bit (depending on how much you put in each post). To square that circle, don't write directly to the forums and if you get ahead of what you're sharing, so be it. I don't think it hurts your credibility to say, "I've played ahead of this," (probably the opposite is true) and having a backlog means that if you get pressed for time or enthusiasm you can maintain a regular posting schedule. Good luck!
