Event/Feuds: We dropped back to one show this month – EWF Downward Spiral – and I would be happy enough to put it down as another positive step for us (albeit a small one). The attendance, at 39, was our biggest yet. It was our highest ranked show yet on TEW.com with a score of 32. Sure the attendance only jumped by 2 and the show rating by 1 but I’ll take it. What I think was telling, most of all, in this show is that I think was our first without any match that could be described as ‘bad’. That’s not to say that we presented a full card of 5-star classics but everything on the card was at least reasonable and that, in and of itself, is progress.

As far as feuds go, we’ve now established Merle O’Curle as the next man who will challenge Padraig O’Hearne in a clash of traditions and styles that is as much for the future of Irish wrestling as it is the present. Padraig’s promos continue to be pretty good but we gave Merle a shot on the stick and, as we feared, it wasn’t great. To address that we’ve reached a deal with ex-21CW manager Aurora to come in and play the part of his Executive Consultant and I’m hopeful that addition will add to the overall success of this storyline.

We gave The Dublin Gals a fast win over Brilliant White and his partner for the night Matthew Macks. This one is still simmering along nicely and we’ve still managed to avoid putting Blair Kerrigan and Brilliant White in a one on one match so far which will, presumably, give us our payoff in this one when it does eventually take place.

Something that was started at the last show and is of a very different nature is the ‘disappearance’ of Cain Carlile and the ‘inexplicable’ emergence of Captain Crash. This one is very much being played for laughs which worked out really well for both Carlile/Crash and Maise Laurels at Downward Spiral. The premise of Laurels being cast as a crazed conspiracy theorist for daring to suggest that Carlile and Captain Crash are one and the same definitely has legs. There’s a few pathways being considered for this one but I think it can elevate them both in any case.

 

We’ve another couple of potential feuds in the offing that will probably be set up in the next month or two as well. More on those as they ripen.

 

Finances: We returned to a profit in April, making $574, cancelling out March’s shortfall of $561 and giving us a current cash reserve of $3,848. We’ve since added Aurora to the roster but I’m hopeful that even booking everybody on one show a month should see us maintain a relatively comfortable (if not massively significant) profit month on month. $2,738 was decent bump (and record high) in our sponsorship income, up from $2,634 in March.

 

Roster In/Outs:

Bat Cooper: Had his debut match at Downward Spiral, eating the pin in a Triple Threat against Cannonball Logan and Rohan Kirchner. He’s young and, like many of our roster, has plenty of potential. Will need time to develop here certainly. In a relationship with Kitty Katz. Has a reputation for being somewhat difficult to deal with that wasn’t helped much by a failure to pick up his share of the bar tab. Merle O’Curle managed that situation for us and Cooper seemed to take it on the chin.

Aurora Phillips: Has yet to be seen as a show but has been signed to act as a mouthpiece for Merle O’Curle. Had a run with 21CW between 2004-2006 but has been limited to occasional indie outings in the near decade and a half since then. EWF is an opportunity for her (and us) to help each other out.

I am Philip Bescott and I am here to call every second of tonight’s action which will culminate in a super Main Event pairing two of Ireland’s very best, the EWF Ri na hEireann Padraig O’Hearne and The Dublin Destroyer – The Celtic Warriors. They’ll be cracking skulls against The Scots Guard pairing of Jeffery McPeterson and Meathead McAullie. Opening the show though we have an EWF first – a Triple Threat match - between three competitors with plenty to prove.

 

Bat Cooper vs Cannonball Logan vs Rohan Kirchner

Rohan Kirchner and the debuting Bat Cooper took control of this one early, the sadistic South African and the psychotic Welshman teaming up to work over the popular, outgoing Cannonball Logan. The power of Cooper and the fearless agility of Kirchner meshed well and they clearly took a lot of satisfaction in their impromptu alliance and the resulting numerical advantage it afforded them. The young Cooper looked raw here, his inexperience standing out in contrast to the performances of the pair of veterans he was in there with.

As the match progressed, Cannonball Logan continued to suffer a beating at the hands of his two foes. However, there can only be one winner of a Triple Threat match and, when Kirchner attempted to cover Logan to secure the victory, Bat Cooper was suddenly unwilling to go along with it and the backslapping and banter between the pair turned into a shoving match quickly when Cooper countered the finest points of Kirchner’s arguments with a hard slap to the face. Cooper, by far the strongest man in the ring, got the better of that exchange and threw Kirchner through the ropes to the floor. Cannonball Logan had recovered enough by this point to roll Cooper up suddenly from behind and keep his shoulders to the mat for long enough that referee Lucy Avatar made the 3 count at 12’24. A good win then for Cannonball Logan and one that looked unlikely for the majority of this match.

Philip Bescott: That is an excellent victory for Cannonball Logan. With all of his experience, his ability and, as we’ve just seen, his opportunism when the moment presents itself, I see no reason at all that he can’t go on to challenge for the top prizes here in EWF. Speaking of such men, it is very difficult to compile such a list without including the man we’re about to hear from now – Merle O’Curle.

 

Merle O’Curle faces the camera. Calmly, without raising his voice, he outlines his thoughts,

 

“I have been doing this for a very, very long time. I get in the ring, I stretch people, I hurt people. I don’t do that out of any sense of enjoyment. I do it because it is the best way to win and I am a winner. A born winner. The face of Irish wrestling for a quarter of a century. I’ve seen all sorts of people come and go over the years. I’ve seen so many people hyped up as the next big thing. Tall, handsome fools. Like Padraig O’Hearne. I’m tired of hearing about Padraig O’Hearne. I don’t doubt that he has heart and I know he has ambition. What I doubt are his brains and his longevity. People ask me why I attacked him? They ask me why I climbed into that cage at the end of Deadly Game and beat him down? I’ll tell you why. It’s real simple. Padraig O’Hearne does not deserve the hype. Padraig O’Hearne does not deserve to be called Ri na hEireann. I don’t care if he won some poxy little tournament. I wasn’t even in that tournament. Unless he can go through me he is undeserving of that shiny belt around his waist. He will not go through me. If he’s half the man that he pretends to be, if he’s half the man that people keep telling me he is… he’ll accept my challenge, meet me in the ring and then we’ll see who the real face of Irish wrestling is.”

 

There were some signs of struggle in this one. Merle O’Curle can do a lot of things but he’s not a great interview.

Philip Bescott: Merle O’Curle making it very, very clear what he thinks of Padraig O’Hearne. I think he may be under-estimating our young champion though. Only time will tell if that is to his detriment. From such a serious competitor though we now switch to somebody far less reserved in his approach to things – it’s ‘Captain Crash’ Cain Carlile against ‘Amazing’ Maise Laurels.

 

Cain Carlile vs Maise Laurels

A rather ragged chant of ‘Captain Crash’ opens this one much to the delight of Cain Carlile and chagrin of Maise Laurels. The tantrum of Laurels prompts more of the chant which only swells as Carlile controls the early stages of this one, using his undoubted speed and enjoying an uncharacteristic advantage in strength today too. To the amusement of the audience he begins striking some superhero poses. Laurels is considerably less amused by this, eventually letting loose a frustrated scream and slapping Carlile with sufficient force that he reels backwards, turns a stumble into one of his trademark handstands only to fall out of the ring unexpectedly when he regains his feet. From the floor he crawls, somewhat groggily, under the ring.

Laurels takes to the turnbuckle then, first ironically basking in the jeers of those watching, then peering curiously down to see where her foe has disappeared to, demanding, “come out and face me, Mr.Carlile!” The lights go out for about 30 seconds. When they come back on Laurels is no longer alone in the ring.

 

The mysterious stranger appears to of identical height and weight to Cain Carlile. He’s even wearing identical wrestling trunks but he’s also sporting a mask. When Laurels demands “Take off that stupid mask, Cain!” the stranger responds, in a suspiciously raspy voice, “Who is this Cain? I am… Captain Crash!”

 

Another ‘Captain Crash’ chant begins and that’s all that the stranger needs to spring into action. Much the like now disappeared Cain Carlile, this Captain Crash character uses a strangely handspring heavy offence that pays dividends at 9’30 when he hits a Mark of Cain (“Mark of Crash!” he calls out) and picks up the win. This was a fun comedy match with everybody involved putting in their best EWF work yet. Carlile (and/or) Captain Crash definitely shaded it in terms of performance but the improvement in Laurels from her first couple of matches in Dublin was immense.

Philip Bescott: I’m really not quite sure what I’ve just witnessed there. This newcomer, this Captain Crash, appears to have emerged from nowhere to pick up a victory. I think… the whole thing is rather mysterious and, indeed, a little bizarre. Speaking of bizarre, we’re about to see the next chapter in the strange relationship between Brilliant White and ‘Blazing’ Blair Kerrigan. It’s time for the first tag team match of the night as The Dublin Gals step up against Brilliant White and the mercenary Matthew Macks.

 

The Dublin Gals (Blair Kerrigan & Cassie O’Peter) vs Brilliant White and Matthew Macks

This one is operating on a heightened sense of tension from the entrances. The Dublin Gals, particularly Kerrigan, seems a little ill at ease and unsettled, a feeling that is only exacerbated when the heels make their entrance with Brilliant White giving a heartfelt rendition of his ‘My Blair Lady’ song. As we await the opening bell, only Matthew Macks seems in any way calm. The match goes back and forth with plenty of quick tags. Despite this we don’t get Kerrigan and Brilliant White in the ring together which seems to suit them both.

 

Eventually it settles down a bit with both Macks and Brilliant White working over O’Peter in her corner. O’Peter did a particularly strong job at evoking sympathy from the young girls in attendance. A kick of the back of the head from Macks left her sprawled on the canvas. The Irishman tagged his brilliant partner, Brilliant White, back in. The masked man blew a kiss to Blair Kerrigan before running the ropes close by her. Kerrigan was knocked from the ring apron to the floor, screaming in pain. This distraction stopped Brilliant White in his tracks and he turned to the fallen Kerrigan, looking over the ropes. It’s hard to tell if, under the mask, his concern was genuine but he was certainly paying more attention to her than to Cassie O’Peter. Matthew Macks called out a warning but it was too late, O’Peter pulled Brilliant White backwards and scored a flash pinfall to secure victory for The Dublin Gals at 12’01. O’Peter’s young fans were particularly delighted and, while the confusing situation between Kerrigan and Brilliant White remains unresolved, on this particular night in Dublin The Dublin Gals will simply savour the moment.

Philip Bescott: That ending came right out of nowhere! Matthew Mack appears to be livid! Cassie O’Peter euphoric, Blair Kerrigan? I’m trying to figure out how badly hurt she really is and Brilliant White, for once, seems brilliantly silenced!

 

Matthew Macks is visibly frustrated by the nature of the defeat, slapping the ropes in irritation. Even as The Dublin Gals celebrate to the back and Brilliant White stares intently at Blair Kerrigan, Macks enters the ring and demands to know what his partner was thinking of?

 

“I’m a professional, damn it, I’m available to hire but I expect certain standards! What the hell?”

 

Brilliant White is slowly making his way back to his feet but still ignoring Macks and watching the departing Kerrigan. Macks has had enough, getting right up into his face, going nose-to-nose,

 

“Don’t ignore me. You asked me to come out here with you and I’ve done my part. What the hell is wrong with you?”

 

Brilliant White doesn’t answer, simply rolling from the ring and moving with his usual sultry strut in the direction of the ramp where The Dublin Gals have disappeared. Macks rolls his eyes to heaven, throws another frustrated kick at the bottom rope before making his own exit.

Philip Bescott: Matthew Macks is not a happy camper after that. Brilliant White? Well, who can tell what he’s ever thinking. Now we turn our attention to a bout between two technically minded wrestlers at very different points in their careers. We heard from ‘The Stretching Machine’ Merle O’Curle earlier on. This is a huge opportunity for the Welsh teenager Axe Bradley to make a statement about his own intentions.

 

Axe Bradley vs Merle O’Curle

Bradley gave a good go at it here but was, ultimately, overmatched against an imperious Merle O’Curle. The veteran dominated this one and it was all Bradley could do to keep his head above water. He did well just to make it last as long as it did but, even with his best efforts, he was trapped and with no option but to tap out at 7’08 when O’Curle’s Celtic Wreath was locked in.

Philip Bescott: That right there is a warning shot from Merle O’Curle to anybody who is paying attention. At this stage of his career he may not quite have the engine that he once did but when you can be as ruthless as he is, well, he’s not paid by the hour. I have no doubt now either that Merle will be paying close attention to our Main Event pitting the team of The Celtic Warriors (including our champion, Padraig O’Hearne) against The Scots Guard.

The Celtic Warriors (Padraig O’Hearne & The Dublin Destroyer) vs The Scots Guard (Jeffery McPeterson & Meathead McAullie w/Kitty Katz)

This was a fitting Main Event to the night with each man playing his part. McAullie in particular gave a really, really strong account of himself here with his Anti-Establishment gimmick looking better and better with each appearance. Momentum was traded back and forth with O’Hearne starting strongly against McPeterson only to find himself being brutalised when Meathead got back into the ring. A missed turnbuckle smash followed by a sharp DDT from the champion left both men grounded and crawling to their respective corners.

 

The two tags were made almost simultaneously but it was The Dublin Destroyer who erupted then, using all his energy to lay out both McPeterson and McAullie. However just when it appeared as though victory for The Celtic Warriors was inevitable, McPeterson kicked out at the knee of his opponent while he was distracted by Kitty Katz at ringside. The Scots Guard attempted to take over once more with a flurry of quick tags. They would pay a hefty price when McPeterson attempted to enter the ring without bothering to make a tag. Lucy Avatar stepped in and forced him to return to the ring apron, drawing the ire of both members of The Scots Guard and their manager. By the time Meathead McAullie turned back to the task at hand he was facing both of The Celtic Warriors. A back drop from The Dublin Destroyer, followed instantly by a second rope leg drop from O’Hearne – a move dubbed Ireland’s Call – was enough to allow O’Hearne, the current EWF Ri na hEireann, to scoop the leg and score a pinfall victory for his team at 9’35.

In the aftermath of the match, Padraig O’Hearne took a microphone and addressed the EWF audience and Merle O’Curle in particular,

 

“I’ve spent 6 years so far in wrestling rings. I know I’m not the finished article. I’m trying to get better every time I step between the ropes, learning with every match I have. And over the last 6 years I’ve heard so much about the people who have gone before me, about people like my tag team partner The Dublin Destroyer. About ‘The Mercenary’ Matthew Macks, about Lug Phelan and, most of all, about ‘The Irish Stretching Machine’ Merle O’Curle.

I looked up to you Merle. I know you’ve almost 20 years more ring time than I do, you were the man I dreamed of living up to. I was so excited when I heard you were coming to EWF. I thought you’d be somebody I could learn from. I thought you were a man of principle. You’re not though. You’re nothing more than a mean spirited bully. You want to denigrate me, that’s fine. You want to write me and all of my generation off, be my guest. You want to lament that you’re being oppressed and overlooked, that’s your call. But if you want a piece of me and my hard won Ri na hEireann title then I’ll see you in a ring real soon. I’ll give you this warning for free though, you’d better bring you’re A-game or I will shut you the hell up between the ropes and show you just how damn good I can be!”

The Celtic Warriors (Padraig O’Hearne & The Dublin Destroyer) vs The Scots Guard (Jeffery McPeterson & Meathead McAullie w/Kitty Katz)

A repeat of the main event from EWF St.Patrick’s Day Massacre though both these pairings are now working under official tag team names. EWF Ri na hEireann Padraig O’Hearne has finally seen off Meathead McAullie definitively after a long feud. This bout between them and their respective seconds seems to be feted as an epilogue or post-script really but a victory for the Scottish duo here could see one or both of them installed right in the midst of the title scene once more.

 

Axe Bradley vs Merle O’Curle

This is a potentially very interesting collision between two technically minded wrestlers at very different stages in their careers. Bradley, still just 18, is taking his first steps but already showing an abundance of talent and many seasoned observers recognise him as somebody to watch. Of course it’s impossible to have a conversation about technical Irish wrestlers without paying homage to Merle O’Curle. O’Curle has carved out a distinguished reputation across the UK and Europe. Expect very little brawling or high flying in this one which should be a treat for wrestling purists everywhere.

 

The Dublin Gals (Blair Kerrigan & Cassie O’Peter) vs Brilliant White & Matthew Macks

The ongoing situation between Blair Kerrigan and Brilliant White remains an uncomfortable and somewhat problematic one. Kerrigan was missing for last month’s shows and, in her absence, Cassie O’Peter was defeated by Brilliant White. The Brilliant Rock Star will be backed up on the night by the mercenary Matthew Macks, a man who has had his own run-ins with The Dublin Gals dating back to the debut EWF show, Brave New World, in January. It remains to be seen what will happen when Kerrigan and Brilliant White are finally in the same ring once more.

 

Cain Carlile vs Maise Laurels

This one, contested between two up and coming English talents, is another potentially tantalising match. Cain Carlile, ‘Captain Crash’, has given a good account of himself in his EWF outings to date. The inventive, irrepressible Carlile, one part comic book superhero to one part agile daredevil is starting to win plenty of new fans. Maise Laurels is not one of them. It is fair to say that Laurels appears to only be a fan of herself. Outspoken and dynamic in her own right, Laurels is widely considered to be a can’t miss prospect by many and will view this match as a good opportunity to show just how capable she can be in her own right.

 

Bat Cooper vs Cannonball Logan vs Rohan Kirchner

A triple threat match will open the show and give each of the three combatants a window in which to prove themselves. Bat Cooper will be making his EWF debut in this match. The young, Welsh scrapper comes with a burgeoning rep for casual violence and a fondness for inflicting pain. He will be worth watching as his career unfolds. In his first match here he will be up against not just one, but two heavily experienced high flyers in the form of bubbly babyface Cannonball Logan and reckless, tough Rohan Kirchner. Logan and Kirchner have already clashed this year and both men have had ups and down already. They will view this as an ideal launchpad to build upon but, should they focus too much on each other, Bat Cooper could well be onto a winning start in his own EWF career.

Emerald Wrestling Federation have added one more name to their roster this week. Brian "Bat" Cooper is a 22 year old Welsh wrestler who was trained in the National School Of Wrestling, from where he graduated in 2017. Bat turned to pro wrestling as a way to escape a life of crime and to put his scary look to good use. He is primarily a brawler, often using lots of weapons, and has a strong work ethic. However, he still needs a lot of work before he will be the finished article - and giving up booze and cigarettes would probably also help. He got his first break when he joined SNP in 2018 and has been particularly helped by being put in the Clan McPeterson stable. EWF will give him another platform to continue his development.

End of month review w/The Dublin Destroyer – March 2020

 

Events/Feuds: Well we ran two shows in March and while we likely won’t be repeating that anytime soon (see Finances below) I think it’s fair to say that both shows were at least small successes in the ring. The first of these, EWF St.Patrick’s Day Massacre, was a minor show - just an hour and three matches long and utilising mostly our home based talent and none of the guys who are based in continental Europe. It served as a debut for Jeffery McPeterson and young Axe Bradley and an opportunity for me to try my comeback as well as to add a little more spice to the Padraig O’Hearne/Meathead McAullie feud ahead of their big match at EWF Deadly Game.

 

Deadly Game itself would surely have to be considered a success. It’s our highest ranked show to date on TEW.com, my match against Merle O’Curle in the semi-main is also now considered our best yet (though I can be honest enough to acknowledge that he carried it) and Padraig O’Hearne’s promo before his cage match with Meathead is the best thing that we’ve seen on an EWF show yet. So plenty of positives there for sure. On the negative side of the ledger I was hoping for a little more from the Main Event, there still hasn’t been any movement on the attendance front (though at least our crowds are holding steady I suppose) and a good chunk of our roster could still be charitably described as raw. Hopefully all of those minor issues will improve in time but overall, while undoubtedly a step forward, EWF Deadly Game was more a reminder to me of just how far we still have to go before EWF can accomplish any of our ultimate goals.

 

As far as storyline feuds go we put the Padraig O’Hearne/Meathead McAullie one to bed at the last show. I was pleased with it overall and I think it’s helped us to establish ourselves. It should be pretty obvious to anybody who watched Deadly Game that we now plan on transitioning to a Padraig O’Hearne/Merle O’Curle clash to replace it. The Brilliant White/Blair Kerrigan storyline continues apace with Cassie O’Peter playing a support role in that one too. We have enough talent in the locker room now too that we’ll definitely try to get at least one more angle running at the next show. It’s just a matter now of deciding who we can rely upon to carry the weight.

 

Finances: The headline here is that we lost $561 in March. Thankfully the profits from January and February can comfortably absorb that with something to spare but it certainly puts to bed any aspirations I may have had to run two shows a month anytime soon. Doubling our shows costs is just not yet viable though, on the plus side, despite the poor (and falling) state of the wrestling industry we did manage our best month yet in terms of sponsorship income, bringing in $2,634. Next month will probably give a much better idea of our mid-term forecast.

 

Roster:

Axe Bradley – The 18 year old wrestled his first two matches for EWF this month and while they were both defeats he has already shown signs that he could well prove to be a quick study. Will probably have to spend a lot of his time staring at the lights for now, both in singles competition and as one half of The Welsh Dragons but will be given plenty of opportunities to develop here.

Blair Kerrigan: Didn’t appear on either of our shows this month with a decision reached not to use any of the roster whose travel costs needed to be covered at St.Patrick’s Day Massacre and missing Deadly Game for storyline reasons. Still regarded as a real prospect and still has the ongoing storyline with Brilliant White to keep her relevant.

Brilliant White: A decent month with two wins (over Bryn Archer and Cassie O’Toole) making it three victories on the spin in EWF. Continued to impress also with both his solo promos and his talk show segment – ‘The Rock Show’. Has shown himself to have a significant upside and I’m expecting him to be a significant player throughout and after his ongoing feud with The Dublin Gals.

Bryn Archer: Turned 20 in March and will have benefitted from the experience of the two matches he had even in defeat. Still very much a work in progress and like his partner in The Welsh Dragons (Axe Bradley) he will get the opportunities to develop here. He does have a little heat now after a careless move resulted in broken fingers for Maise Laurels but hopefully that’s not going to prove a long-term concern and will be something else he can learn from. Might give him the next show off in any case.

Cain Carlile: ‘Captain Crash’ picked up his first EWF victory at Deadly Game. Truthfully there’s not yet much else to say about a young man who is still finding his way both in EWF and in the business in general.

Cannonball Logan: Cannonball put over Jeffery McPeterson at Deadly Game but that match was decent enough that it served as a timely reminder of just what he can do. He’s also a real People Person who offers an awful lot backstage too and, as he’s based in Ireland full-time, should remain a solid part of the backbone of our roster.

Cassie O’Peter: Lost to Brilliant White at Deadly Game as a part of the overall feud involving her tag team partner Blair Kerrigan. O’Peter hasn’t particularly impressed between the ropes yet but, as a young, Irish talent, she will be given chances aplenty to develop here. She hasn’t yet really been given a chance to shine on the mic yet either despite being considered a strong performer in that area. Where she has really proven her worth is backstage, bringing a real positivity to the place (she set up a pancake section backstage at the last show) especially since I added her real life girlfriend, Maise Laurels, to the roster as well.

Geordie Jimmy Morris: Has come in and made a difference already, proving his worth as a creative and reliable Road Agent. Has a wealth of experience to pass on and plenty of ability to do just that. A genuine asset.

Jeffery McPeterson: Two wins from two so far for McPeterson who has certainly carried his weight since being added, a little surprisingly, to bolster the roster in March. Not yet sure what his short-term role will be here but has the ability to add plenty.

Kitty Katz: Probably won’t look back on March particularly fondly. The families in attendance didn’t react at all well to her provocative t-shirt act at St.Patrick’s Day Massacre and she was exposed somewhat in the relatively lengthy promo required as part of The Rock Show at Deadly Game. Her position is not under any risk but she may have to settle for a valet role as opposed to a full on manager now.

Lucy Avatar: Our referee. Getting the job done with minimum fuss so far. Long may it continue.

Maise Laurels: Picked up her first win, teaming with Matthew Macks at Deadly Game. Definitely still needs time to become somewhat better known by the Irish crowd and now has some broken fingers to get over in the short-term too. Lots of potential though.

Matthew Macks: A victory at Deadly Game, albeit as the only competitor with much experience in a tag match. Between that and the fact that he’s been governing the EWF Wrestlers’ Court there’s a strong sense that, even though he’s only 31, Macks is developing into a locker room leader here. Has plenty to offer both inside and outside the ring.

Meathead McAullie: Part of a winning duo (with Jeffery McPeterson) at St.Patrick’s Day Massacre but came out on the losing side in the big title match at Deadly Game. Still has all the tools to be a big part of our plans but will now be important to find something to keep him busy away from the title picture.

Merle O’Curle: Rolled back the years at Deadly Game to do most of the work in our excellent match. Is paid considerably more than anybody else in our locker room but has absolutely justified the expense so far.

Padraig O’Hearne: Still champion, developing well and cut an excellent promo at Deadly Game to show that he has that string to his bow as well. Far and away our top face at the moment.

Philip Bescott: Is doing okay. It’s tougher for him now that he’s on his own at the announce desk but since we don’t have TV as such anyway at the moment he’s more than adequate for our current needs.

Rohan Kirchner: It’s been a mixed month for Rohan. He defeated Axe Bradley at St.Patrick’s Day Massacre and lost to Cain Carlile at Deadly Game. He was late to pick up his travel partner (Cannonball Logan) but responded well to Matthew Mack’s mediation of that which was one less headache for me to worry about. I only realised the other day that SNP haven’t booked him in a match all year so we’re really all he has at the moment.

The Dublin Destroyer: I had my comeback and showed up fairly well and I feel now that I still have something to offer in the ring. I won’t be likely to be wearing the title belt anytime soon but I can offer plenty of experience to help the youngsters along and try to help elevate people by putting them over along the way too.

 

OOC: My apologies for the lengthy delay between posts. I enjoyed a very busy, very pleasant couple of months in my life. TEW took somewhat of a back seat in that time. However my natural flair (wooo!) for sabotaging my own personal life means that I am now in possession of much more free time again. This bodes well for The Dublin Destroyer and the whole gang in EWF. It's a silver lining I suppose.

Philip Bescott: Philip Bescott here to call all the action tonight as Emerald Wrestling Federation promotes our latest show – EWF Deadly Game. We have six matches scheduled for tonight, culminating in a Steel Cage Main Event for the Ri na hEireann title between champion Padraig O’Hearne and challenger Meathead McAullie. Opening the action tonight though is a very different match. Welsh teenagers Axe Bradley and Bryn Archer have decided to compete as a unit. The Welsh Dragons will meet an interesting pairing tonight in the form of the precocious Maise Laurels and the mercurial daredevil Matthew Macks.

 

The Welsh Dragons (Axe Bradley & Bryn Archer) vs Maise Laurels & Matthew Macks

This was a decent enough opener to the night. Macks carried the match, giving easily his best performance in an EWF ring to date and helping to keep this one together for his considerably less experienced partner and opponents on the night. The opponents, The Welsh Dragons, showed an excellent chemistry together that will surely only help them in the future. Still very raw, this pair undoubtedly boast a massive potential and a big future. The same can be said of Laurels though her night took an unwelcome turn when she suffered broken fingers after an awkward fall when Bryn Archer appeared to drop her during a catch. It’s a credit to her toughness that she didn’t let it deter her. This was an open match and all four were given opportunities to show what they can do. The Welsh Dragons worked well together, combining power and technique to good effect and benefited from Macks’ excellent selling also. Macks, for his part, was his usual brand of fast-paced, reckless, high-flying offence and Laurels was the one who would score the crucial pinfall following a Draping DDT on Axe Bradley at 11:03

Philip Bescott: The experience of Matthew Macks is perhaps the difference maker in this one! An open and entertaining contest to get the ball rolling here. Our next match has, perhaps, a more serious background to it. Unfortunately Blair Kerrigan is not here tonight as she tries to keep her distance from Brilliant White. Her tag team partner, her fellow Dublin Gal, her best friend, Cassie O’Peter IS here however and she intends to show Brilliant White exactly how unappreciated his attention has been. A woman’s wrath can be a scary thing, take it from me, I know!

 

Cassie O’Peter vs Brilliant White

Cassie O’Peter’s annoyance was played upon in this one, she was intent on inflicting serious damage upon the man who has been lurking around and distracting her best friend and tag-team partner, Blair Kerrigan, who was conspicuous in her absence tonight. Brilliant White, for his part, took every shortcut he could to break up the young Irishwoman’s momentum. He rolled in and out of the ring, took frequent refuge between the ropes and spent a lot of time stationed (some might suggest cowered) behind the back of referee Lucy Avatar. The experience of Brilliant White would prove decisive here though. With O’Peter allowing her frustration to bubble over into a row with Avatar, the English attacked her with a high knee to the back of the skull from behind, grabbed a fistful of tights and, with the help of his feet on the ropes for extra leverage, he scored the victory with 10 minutes on the clock. In the aftermath he launched into another cover of ‘My Blair Lady’ and, once more, dedicated, “my brilliant song, my brilliant victory to my brilliant girl!”

Ri na hEireann champion, Padraig O’Hearne, cuts a backstage promo next.

“This title means a lot to me. Irish wrestling means a lot to me. I’ve got a lot of pride in who I am and in what I represent. I have travelled to learn my craft. I did my time at Ring of Fire Dojo, I spent six years flying back and forth across the Irish Sea taking matches anywhere I could, spending my blood, my sweat and my tears to try and put Irish wrestling on the map. Now we have a stage of our own and I’m proud to be here for it, proud to be the holder of this championship belt. I have a long career ahead of me yet. There’s going to be highs and there’s going to be lows.

 

Tonight will not be one of those lows. I know Meathead McAullie. I know him really well. And he might be bigger than me and he might be stronger than me. He’s a dangerous man with a mean streak. None of that is in doubt. But whatever his many attributes he doesn’t have the heart to match me. He’s been trying to intimidate me since day one here. I don’t blame him for it, it’s his way and I have no doubt that he’s gonna give me a big match inside that cage tonight. But when it’s over, when the referee raises my hand in victory, Meathead McAullie will know, everybody else who wants a piece of me will know, Padraig O’Hearne is the real deal and the undisputed Ri na hEireann!"

Philip Bescott: Fighting words from our champion there. And before that another victory for Brilliant White and another declaration of his… let’s just say his feeling… for Blair Kerrigan. That one is not over yet. Not by a long shot. We move now to another match and this one I’ve been looking forward to as Cain Carlile and Rohan Kirchner prepare to bring their high flying offence to bear against one another. Too tough to call for me.

 

Cain Carlile vs Rohan Kirchner

The 37 people in attendance enjoyed this one, a contest of high spots and high risks. Carlile’s handspring somersault over the top rope to the floor was a particular highlight and Kirchner landed a picture perfect moonsault at the halfway point in this one around 5 minutes in. With the action running back and forth it would be ‘Captain Crash’ Cain Carlile who eventually came out on top, wriggling out of an attempted Samoan Drop with a speed that caught everybody by surprise and turning it into a quick 3 count at 10’10.

Match Rating: 25

 

Philip Bescott: Cain Carlile picking up his first victory in EWF! Based on that display there could be many, many more in his future. Rohan Kirchner gave a good account of himself too. There is a real depth of talent in the ranks here in EWF. The next match is proof of that – two experienced hands in the shape of Cannonball Logan and, fresh off a victory on his debut at last week’s St.Patrick’s Day Massace, ‘The Street Fighting Man’, Jeffery McPeterson.

 

Cannonball Logan vs Jeffery McPeterson

Cannonball Logan started this one at pace, trying to use his speed and agility to gain an edge against his bigger opponent. A crescent kick, a Russian leg sweep and an axe handle from the top turnbuckle all rocked McPeterson and had the crowd on the edge of their seats. Eventually though, Logan would go to the well one time too many, McPeterson stepped shrewdly to one side to avoid a flying fist drop, instead bringing Logan’s momentum to a screaming halt with a sudden spinebuster. From there the Scot took over, unloading with a succession of stiff punches and kicks and, with Logan backed up into the corner, a succession of brutal elbows to the face. Stumbling out into the centre of the ring, Logan was virtually defenceless and McPeterson is not a man to pass up such an opportunity. A vicious clothesline was followed up by McPeterson’s vindictive Curb Stomp and, at 10’08, Jeffery McPeterson won this contest.

Philip Bescott: Jeffery McPeterson setting out his stall with some definition there. That is a very, very tough man. He will be a difficult nut to crack for anybody and I have no doubt that he will have intentions of climbing to the very top of the mountain here in EWF! Now though it is time for the first edition of the new interview session here in EWF – The Rock Show, with your brilliant host, Brilliant White and his guests - the number one contender for the EWF Ri na hEireann title, Meathead McAullie and Kitty Katz, his manager.

 

Brilliant White glides to the ring, as provocative and outrageous as ever as he strikes a number of rock star poses. He introduces The Rock Show in typically bombastic fashion, heralding it as "a bastion of bravado, a brewing of brightness and a beacon of brilliance!” He touches on his victory earlier tonight “brilliant”, on his muse Blair Kerrigan “brilliant” and on the odds his guest tonight has of finishing the evening with gold around his waist “brilliant”.

 

Meathead McAullie and Kitty Katz join Brilliant White in the ring then and, under questioning from the host, outline their expectations for tonight’s match against Padraig O’Hearne. McAullie is blunt in his pronouncement, “Padraig O’Hearne will need to be carried out of the cage here tonight at the end of the match. If he’s lucky, if he’s very, very lucky, maybe he’ll be able to start planning a comeback in a few years. He’s got heart, I’m sure he’ll give it a go. More likely though is that nobody will ever see Padraig O’Hearne is a wrestling ring again. His little feel good run as champion is coming to an end tonight. EWF is about to get a champion worthy of the name. A brand new era is about to begin. The era of Meathead is here.”

 

Kitty Katz is in agreement, adding that, “every single time I come back here I’m reminded of exactly why I left! This place is a backwater and I’m over the moon that I get to play my part in taking the brightest jewel in the EWF across the sea to a place where people actually appreciate real quality!”

Kitty struggled a bit here in the six minute segment when expected to speak at length but it did it’s part in getting the crowd hyped about tonight’s Main Event.

Philip Bescott: Some interesting developments there. Meathead McAullie appears to be targeting not just Padraig O’Hearne’s title belt but also his physical well-being, his self-respect and, indeed, his future as a wrestler. Before we get to that Main Event though we have one more match to enjoy and this one is going to be worth savouring – the two most experienced men on the EWF roster, ‘The Stretching Machine’ Merle O’Curle and, on the comeback trail after deciding to reverse his retirement, The Dublin Destroyer.

 

The Dublin Destroyer vs Merle O’Curle

The crowd were hot here and fully on board to get behind the unlikely return of The Dublin Destroyer. Buoyed by this support he exploded into this one, attacking from the outset with a focussed aggression, turning his aggression on the left arm of Merle O’Curle. O’Curle, for his part, endured all that was thrown at him in the opening moments and waited for his opportunity to strike. That chance arrived when O’Curle was thrown into the ropes and The Destroyer went into position to administer a back drop but put his head down a fraction of a second too early.

 

A fraction was all that O’Curle needed, bringing his knee up to impact upon the face of his foe. The Destroyer dropped to the mat and, from there, O’Curle was in his element, locking in a painful looking submission hold to the wrist and elbow. The Dublin Destroyer managed, barely, to crawl to the ropes, forcing a break. Still reeling from the blow to his head, he gamely attempted to take back the momentum with some punches and kicks but O’Curle returned each one with interest and then injected a bit of impetus to hit a German Suplex. The Destroyer managed to kick out at two from the resultant cover but had no answers to the Celtic Wreath that followed, tapping out at 8:36 to bring this intense, enjoyable contest to a close and establish O’Curle, beyond any doubt, as a genuine threat to any and all in EWF. This match was the best in the still short history of EWF.

Philip Bescott: What about that! A wonderful display of real pro wrestling right there from two of Ireland’s best ever. Merle O’Curle with a real display of intent. The man is a specialist in pain. You can see them now erecting the cage around the ring. Following that last match will not be easy but it’s time for our Main Event and, locked within the confines of a steel cage, champion Padraig O’Hearne and challenger Meathead McAullie are a duo to rise to any challenge. This is going to be explosive.

McAullie took control early in this one, using his greater power and size to dominate the champion, whipping him from corner to corner, flooring him with a series of clubbing blows and a gorilla press, tossing him bodily into the side of the cage. McAullie’s bulk would count against him however when he tried to climb over the top and O’Hearne’s greater speed allowed him to haul the big Scot back to the mat with a thunderous thump. O’Hearne brought his greater technique to the fore then, maintaining an edge with a succession of dropkicks, suplexes and a DDT. His own attempts to escape were hindered by Kitty Katz. McAullie’s manager pushing his feet from the cage wall and forcing him to drop back to the floor. Meathead was waiting there to unleash a clothesline of frightening impact. The hulking McAullie ragdolled O’Hearne a little more before returning to his preferred game of throwing O’Hearne into the cage wall. This time however O’Hearne brought all his ring awareness to bear, gripping onto the bars and quickly starting to climb. McAullie attempted to prevent this by grabbing his foot and this turned into a tug of war that was only ended when the champion managed to kick his opponent in the face. Unhindered now, O’Hearne completed his climb to the top and, despite the shrieking protestations of Kitty Katz, he dropped to the floor and retained his title in 12:17.

This was not a bad match and both men gave their all but, particularly after the semi-main, it’s probably fair to say that it didn’t quite reach the expected standards.

O’Hearne is celebrating outside the ring with the championship belt, exhausted but clearly delighted at his decisive victory. He is exchanging high fives with some of the crowd when the attack comes from behind. It’s Merle O’Curle and he tackles the champion to the ground and he attacks with pinpoint precision, battering O’Hearne before locking in the Celtic Wreath again. Eventually, satisfied that sufficient damage has been inflicted, O’Curle releases the hold. He picks up the championship belt, looks at it intently, turns a disdainful stare of the injured O’Hearne and drops the title on him and leaves.

Segment Rating: 32

 

Philip Bescott: What an end to our night. Padraig O’Hearne proves just what he’s capable of, putting a conclusive end to his rivalry with Meathead McAullie AND retaining his EWF Ri na hEireann title, Celebrations are cut short here however by a sneak attack from Merle O’Curle. The outcome of this, and all the other action we’ve seen tonight, will only become clear at our next show. I’m Philip Bescott and I look forward to calling the action for you again then! EWF Deadly Game Preview

There has been nothing to separate this pair across a series of clashes so far that have been ever more bitterly contested. Thus far O’Hearne won via DQ in their first meeting, both men were disqualified in their second and, early last week McAullie’s team won out in a tag team bout though O’Hearne was not the man to be pinned in that clash either. So it all comes to this now, both men will be locked within the confines of a steel cage in their latest quest for both dominance and the title belt. It could get ugly indeed.

 

The Dublin Destroyer vs Merle O’Curle

Two veterans of the scene will clash here in a bout which will have half a century of experience in it. The Dublin Destroyer has only recently returned from a spell in retirement and may well be working out ring rust. For him that makes this a potentially dangerous prospect. O’Curle is entirely without mercy and knows countless ways to hurt and stretch his opponents. Both of these men will have designs on a big 2020 and this will be a real opportunity for them both to put down a marker of intent.

 

Cassie O’Peter vs Brilliant White

Brilliant White’s increasingly bizarre obsession with Blair Kerrigan has become increasingly unsettling to watch. Kerrigan herself, understandably, is especially perturbed by it all particularly as it’s now cost her and her tag team partner Cassie O’Peter a couple of results. It is to this end that this match has been booked. Cassie O’Peter is determined to stop this weird façade definitively and completely and has demanded a match against Brilliant White to accomplish this goal. The stakes in this one are personal and all the more significant for this reason.

 

Cannonball Logan vs Jeffery McPeterson

Another bout pitting two of the roster’s more experienced hands in direct combat. Cannonball Logan, the bubbly, highflying optimist has had a mixed time of it so far in EWF. With his ability and experience though, he’ll be a good test for renowned street fighter Jeffery McPeterson in that man’s singles debut here. It’s an interesting clash of styles and attitudes here between two men who know each other all too well over the years.

 

Cain Carlile vs Rohan Kirchner

Two of the fastest men in EWF will also collide at Deadly Game in a conflict that promises to be full of pacy high spots and barely calculated risk. Cain Carlile is a popular fighter with an inventive offence, Kirchner an unstable bad ass who will happily disregard his own safety if he can hurt somebody else. Something will have to give here. The hope is simply that both men will escape serious injury.

 

The Welsh Dragons (Axe Bradley & Bryn Archer) vs Maisie Laurels and Matthew Macks

The Welsh Dragons will make their debut as a team at the event as well. The teenaged pair have almost untapped potential and there seems little doubt that they will go on to great things. It may be a little early for them in this match though against a fellow young prospect in the form of Maise Laurels and the mercurial, mercenary Matthew Macks. Betting against Archer and Bradley though… that seems a risky proposition too.

1. Kitty Katz fires t-shirts into crowd. Family crowd not impressed by sexually charged shenanigans. Segment Rating: 0

2. The Dublin Destroyer begins an interview with Padraig O’Hearne but before the champion can hit his stride they are interrupted by Meathead McAullie and newcomer Jeffery McPeterson. They have a big argument, going back and forth on the microphone before things turn violent and a brawl erupts. McAullie and McPeterson challenge O’Hearne to a match. The Dublin Destroyer announces that he will come out of retirement to partner O’Hearne. Kitty Katz does add plenty to this segment. Segment Rating: 31

3. In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Rohan Kirchner defeated Axe Bradley in 10:47 by pinfall with a Super Kick. Match Rating: 19

4. In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Brilliant White defeated Bryn Archer in 11:35 by pinfall with a White Out. Match Rating: 22

6. In a decent match Jeffrey McPeterson and Meathead McAullie defeated Padraig O’Hearne and The Dublin Destroyer in 12’21 when Meathead McAullie pinned the Dublin Destroyer with a Running Big Boot. Match Rating: 32

It’s late when I get home after the St.Patrick’s Day show. Linda is already in bed but she’s still awake.

 

“How was it, hun?” she asks as I slide under the quilt beside her. I think about it for a few seconds before I answer.

 

“You know something? I really enjoyed it. It turns out that there’s still a little something in the tank.”

 

“I told you,” my wife tells me, nudging me with her foot for emphasis. Linda has no interest in wrestling but, bless her, she’s always had an interest in me and she’s been far more supportive of my wrestling dreams than I have ever had any right to expect. I’m sure she’s relieved that EWF is running at a profit though.

 

“So, will you keep going in the ring then?” she enquires sleepily, even as she snuggles in closer to me. God, I am beyond lucky to have met her. We’ve had hard times just like anybody else has but the woman adds a joy to my life that almost nothing else ever has. Tonight wasn’t far off though. Just getting back in the ring, even booking myself to take the fall… it was a great feeling.

“I think I will. Not, you know, full-time but, like I said, there’s still something there. I think I can teach the kids a lot and the chemistry between myself and Padraig was absolutely great too. So maybe a tag-team run… who knows? We’ll see. ‘The Celtic Warriors’ has a nice ring to it.”

 

“Anybody else on the radar?” she asks though her tone lets me know that sleep can’t be too far off now.

 

“Kitty has mentioned bringing her new boyfriend. They work together in SNP.”

 

“That might be nice,” Linda adds, “you’ve got a few already working there too, right?”

 

“Sure,” I confirm, “Padraig, Meathead, Rohan, Cannonball, Brilliant White, now Jeffery too as well as Kitty. Plenty of our people over there. The only problem is that, from the sound of things, the boyfriend is a bit of a dickhead. So we’ll have to see.”

 

Linda mumbles tiredly in response. I lean over, kiss her cheek and whisper,

“I love you,” before closing my eyes and allowing my tired, sore body to drift towards slumber myself.

This show was booked as an hour long effort with Lesser Intent and Very Cheap ticket prices. In my headcanon it's probably stuck in the back function room at a bar of fairly dubious quality with the owners looking for any trick to drag in a few punters on St.Patrick's Day. It won't be presented with the same level of detail as the 'true' EWF shows but there is a narrative piece coming from it too. Still... if nothing else I amused myself writing this with the not particularly subtle Thin Lizzy reference and sometimes it's the small things that cheer a man.

Emerald Wrestling Federation have added another couple of names to their roster ahead of this month’s pair of shows – EWF St.Patick’s Day Massacre and EWF Deadly Game.

 

"The Master Of The Old-School" Aurelian Bradley is a youngster from Wales who was a 2019 graduate of the National School Of Wrestling. Despite having done well in training, 21CW decided not to sign him after graduation and so he has been working the independent scene since. EWF have now signed him and, feeling that Aurelian is a bit of a mouthful, renamed him Axe. The 245lber is a very solid performer who is noted for his reliability and his ability to work well against a variety of different styles; this latter strength is due to his excellent basics. He is noted for basing a lot of his attacks around working his opponent's legs, setting up his Figure Four Leglock finisher.

 

Scottish wrestler "The Street Fighting Man" Jeffery McPeterson is best known for being the son of "The Highland Warrior" Greg McPeterson. Making his pro debut for his dad's MOSC in 2004, he was still with them in 2010 when 21CW finally came in and bought out the stricken company. Jeff disappeared off on hiatus after MOSC's collapse and many thought he was done with the business, so it was a big shock when he made his return, alongside his dad, seven years later with SNP. As the leader of Clan McPeterson he has become a big part of that company, and his Curb Stomp finisher has become massively over. Bigger and brawnier than he was in MOSC, the new Street Fighting Man is also now fighting with more fire than ever before.

 

Thanks to those who took the time to predict. Once I get things established properly we'll work in some sort of predictions contest. I've played/written through to the end of July so far and I'm enjoying the journey of The Dublin Destroyer and his rather ramshackle crew.

Shows/Feuds: EWF Coming Storm is on the books now and, from a performance point of view it was definitely a success, scoring a 31 on TEW.com compared to a 27 for EWF Brave New World a month earlier. Three of the matches at Coming Storm (Ahearne/McAullie, Dublin Gals/Macks & O’Curle, Brilliant White/Carlile) were better than anything at our first show. Brilliant White cut another excellent promo and Maise Laurels, on her debut appearance with us, also looked decent on the mic. Her match, with fellow debutant Bryn Archer, was poor but that was only real misstep we had on the night and that was heavily mitigated by the fact that they are both virtually unknown here and will need some time to get themselves over. The attendance was identical to the first show, a fairly unmemorable 37. It would be nice to think that we’ll see some improvement there over the next few shows. As far as feuds go the Padraig O’Hearne and Meathead McAullie rivalry is still ongoing after their Double DQ finish and I have plans to keep that one going through March. We’re still building up the situation between Brilliant White and Blair Kerrigan too. Both those feuds are, by our standards at least, hot at the moment. I’ve decided to go with two shows next month. Our regular monthly show will take place in the last weekend of the month and will be called EWF Deadly Game but I’m also going to run a minor show on St.Patrick’s Day called, fittingly, EWF St.Patrick’s Day Massacre. It’s only going to run for an hour and we’re going to reduce the ticket price and, who knows, on the day that’s in it, we might attract a few new faces.

 

 

Finances: The good news is that we made a profit again. The bad news is that it was reduced from $954 in January to just $381 in February. While sponsorship increased marginally (from $2,417 to $2,449) the big shift here came in the form of worker costs which jumped from $820 to $1,460. It’s still not anything particularly worrying but suddenly it puts the travel costs of bringing our central European based contingent in under the spotlight again. Merle O’Curle is paid a basic $200 a show. This makes him the highest paid member of the roster by some distance but his performances were probably worth that much. His travel costs seemed to come in at an additional $300 though and that is where decisions may have to be made. For EWF St.Patrick’s Day Massacre I’m not going to bring in any of the roster whose travel is covered. We’ll see if that makes the show any more viable. In any case, with $3,835 in the bank at the moment we’re doing okay so far.

 

Roster: a quick look at the new faces.

Bryn Archer: At 19, the youngest member of the roster. Will need to be given time to establish himself and build up some recognition but there should be problem with that. A quiet, respectful presence who is eager to learn, Archer definitely has a future here. That said, the debut match was forgettable.

 

Cain Carlile: Lost to Brilliant White in his debut but gave a good account of himself and is another who surely has plenty of room to grow here. Has a very professional attitude for such a young man and one that I’m delighted to have onboard.

 

Geordie Jimmy Morris: Did exactly what was hoped. Came in (at a very reasonable cost) to pass on all his love and knowledge of the business to our locker room and proved vastly superior to me as a Road Agent. He’s going to be a real asset.

 

Maisie Laurels: Her match with Bryn Archer was nothing to get excited about but, like him, she has youth and a lot of potential on her side. The promo that she cut after the match was quite memorable too and gave a strong impression that she will be well able to hold her own in that regard. Her relationship with Cassie O’Peter also means that her presence adds to the dressing room morale.

 

Merle O’Curle: He’s still got it, you know? Looked absolutely excellent in his bout and gave every reason for me to believe that he can play a part right at the very top of our card. As outlined above, he’s not cheap but he has all the tools to help put us on the map.

 

The Dublin Destroyer: Whisper it quietly but I’m thinking about putting myself in a match at St.Patrick’s Day Massacre. I’ve no designs on giving myself a major run but it could be the best opportunity I have now to see if I still have enough in the tank to fill in if and when it may be necessary.

 

I’m happy enough with everybody else on our books at the moment. I’d still consider adding maybe a couple more but they’d almost need to be willing to travel on their own dime to get here. This may all change depending on how we grow (or not) in the near future of course!

I can hardly believe that I only caught up with this 3 days after it hit the big pause. I was looking forward to my first predictions.

 

More seriously, it's been a brilliant ride Historian. Some wonderful, touching stuff, you've made your roster feel like real people and that is a credit to your writing ability!
