  1. <p>I'm playing CVerse97 and signed a rookie Adam Matravers. Pretty soon he got into a tag team with a randomly generater wrestler under the name of Robert Howard due to tag chemistry. RH is on the heavyweight side, used to be a Psychopath but changed to Brawler. I got him working under a Pitbull gimmick (maybe because of the chain in his portrait?)</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="large.CVFP_WhiteMale_092.jpg.0f2d5f5f6f7d4a088e6eafeb4b7703b3.jpg" data-src="https://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/uploads/monthly_2017_02/large.CVFP_WhiteMale_092.jpg.0f2d5f5f6f7d4a088e6eafeb4b7703b3.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Matravers does the flying, Howard brings the fisticuffs. They're both faces and simply billed as "Matravers&Howard' as I can't come up with anything better. Any ideas for a tag name?</p>
  2. Besides geography, it's also a product thing. Check the Analysis for your product, usually at the end it'll mention whether the Young Lion rule applies to your product. Garbage/Hardcore Japanese promotions are unaffected, for example. Not sure if Puroresu-heavy promotions outside Japan apply the YL system though. Mainly if the wresters' gimmicks and status make sense for them teaming up. Also, I like to mix established stars with upcoming talent in order to help elevate the latter by association. Examples: - I've run a GSW (CVerse) dynasty in the past, in case you don't know it's focused on black and latino workers with a heavy hardcore content. There, I hired the redneck team of The Good Ol' Boys, which became a stable after introducing manager Claire South and a young amish wrestler in Jebediah. Established tag team helped the youngster rise up the ranks fast. Also, I had a stable named "IPW Invaders" for employees that joined from the rival IPW Promotion (E-Soteric, BB Colossus, Lil' Henry, Deadly Deadshot, Babau*Moroi etc) - Right now I'm playing a Road to Glory challenge using the CVerse 97 mod. Miss Information/Viper McKenna immediately formed a strong friendship with a certain wrestler as soon as she joined. Few shows later, she turned out to have great chemistry managing him as well as tagging with him, so I put them in a tag team. Later on, her mentor British Samurai joined the company, so I put them in a heel stable I call "The Terrific Three". Ring veteran Br. Samurai is the brains, charismatic youngster Miss Information is the mouthpiece and popular old timer is a hulking Norwegian who acts as the stable's muscle. Everybody contributes something and everybody gets something, plus it makes sense within the storyline. Hope that helps, sorry for the wall of text
  3. <p>Adding a little extra oomph to the previous answers</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Hazhimself" data-cite="Hazhimself" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41194" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Sorry Guys as the post is a bit long winded regarding the questions.<p> </p><p> 1. How many Storylines should I have running at once? does this change depending on company size and requirements?</p><p> </p><p> 2. Outside of main eventers who should I use in storylines? I have talented rookies I want to push in a POP> PERF Fed but no matter what I do the more over workers refuse to Put them over!</p><p> </p><p> 3. I'm often at a loose end regarding which youngsters to push, Do I just push the ones I like or The ones in creative meeting NBT? are there any other indicators a worker is ready for a storyline?</p><p> </p><p> 4. in 2005 it would indicate what a worker was best used for, such as a stepping stone or a Franchise Player, is there any way to identify who this is now? I'm a fan of starting my own Feds however My Pushes change and vary wildly everytime I autopush (should I stop doing this after every show?)</p><p> </p><p> Thanks and apologies for the length and if any of these are bonehead questions!</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> 1. What the previous guy said. Depending on your product, you'll see at the top of the Storylines window the minimum number and heat required. There's no maximum, but remember storylines need to be advanced (I think) every second or third show at least, so too many might hinder your booking or you may end up not progressing some and have them losing heat.</p><p> </p><p> 2. As mentioned, youngsters need some time to climb up the card before they can beat top talent without issues. I generally run one storyline per title (the feud between champion and contenders) plus any others that make sense to me.</p><p> </p><p> 3. Another good indicator is the news on the starting page. If you catch a news update about a wrestler praised for his/her potential, chances are their legacy roll (how much they can grow a.k.a. where skill growth is capped) is pretty high.</p><p> </p><p> 4. Autopush is indeed a mess in smaller companies. I've run my Road to Glory company from Local to Regional size so far and I'd still say stick with it though, eventually things settle down.</p>

Is it just limited to making positive comments about members of your roster after shows?<p> </p><p> As part of the same issue, are User characters limited in the types of relationships they can form? If I constantly praise the same person are we likely to become friends? If I keep hugging the same person (sounds a bit creepy tbh) are we potentially going to start dating? If I keep knocking somebody I presume it leads to negative relationships?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Not sure about Post Match Speeches, so far they've only provided morale boosts (or penalties) to my workers. However, handling certain backstage events have resuted in Simmering Tension or Dislikes so I guess positive relationships could be formed in a similar manner, by turning a blind eye to certain people or punishing hard anyone who has an issue with them.</p>

  6. Remember back when The Dudleys were not just a tag team, but a stable? Back in the days of the original ECW, the story behind the comedy group was that the patriarch of the family had illegitimate children around the globe who somehow ended up on the promotion, from the stuttering Buh Buh Ray Dudley to the "Innovator of Silence" Sign Guy Dudley and the native american Dances With Dudleys. It was the arrival of Devon Dudley that whipped them into shape and turned them into the team we know today. What most people don't know is that CornellVerse has its own version of the group, The Avatars. Sons and daughters of the mysterious Grand Avatar, they arose around the globe to answer their bloodline's call… Eight C-Verse characters mysteriously linked between them. Eight C-Verse companies across the world. One pro wrestling magazine to provide you with weekly updates on all eight and the rest of the evolving world. Welcome, to the Avatar Saga
  7. <p>Silly question, but do user avatar characters die? I mean, what if choose a 65+ year old road agent as my character?</p><p> </p><p> Also, maybe I've missed it but is there somewhere a list of the correlation between product and worker style? (Entertainers getting more over in Mainstream companies, Brawlers and Psychopaths in Hardcore, Luchadors in Lucha Libre etc)</p>

End of the year results since the last update were various skill upgrades and a +20% to Religious</p>
  9. Kudos for your work, I'm using this mod for my Road to Glory challenge and I'm just hitting decent size levels in my company as all the big names begin to debut. Not sure if the game or mod is to blame, but Karen Bilous seems to automatically revert to her original gimmick in every match. Pointing it out in case you want to look it up.
  10. 2000 in the books, on the verge of finally making shows profitable, which means I'll be able to put up a show every month. My roll for the end of the year was 32. “Snow To An Eskimo” You have devoted your holiday season to training in the ring +5 to your Selling skill

Interesting. I am playing as QAW, and had it happen with a retired Joanna Rodriguez, after she had already been on the roster (and subsequently poached by USPW ... the bastards ... have poached a few good workers of mine ...) ... luckily I was able to get her to be owner/head booker of my development company instead.<p> </p><p> I'm just getting frustrated because there are people I'd like as road agents, etc. who are not interested in signing ... and they'd have a great impact on the product! Ha ha</p></div></blockquote><p> Since you seem to be having the issue with people you'd like to use as road agents, I'm willing to take a guess and say it's because that's not a role they're willing to play. Every worker has a "Works as" tab (Wrestler, Referee, Announcer etc). When wrestlers retire, some immediately slip into a new role, some open an dojo and some simply remain neutral until they've made up their mind. Check that out, maybe the people you have in your sights haven't decided yet (a.k.a. the game hasn't yet assigned a preferred role to them) or you might be offering a road agent contract to people who aren't willing to work as road agents.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="james_ewing88" data-cite="james_ewing88" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41194" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I decided to start a CornellVerse game from nothing, as in lowest rep as a booker and unemployed. Now, I know I can't make my own company (as my rep isn't high enough), but will I ever be able to get a job as a booker? I started in January 2016 and my game is in September 2018 and still have been unable to get a job. I've applied to any company I can (I believe, in total, it's been around 12), but nothing. With the lowest rep, but great booking skills, will I ever be hired, or has the game become a watcher?<p> </p><p> Also, on that note of the game, my user character (unemployed, mind you) has had his stats increase every month...with no job and no matches wrestled. Is this a glitch or is it suppose to happen?</p></div></blockquote><p> I once accidentally resigned and had the same problem, it takes some time. Your best bet is to wait for a booker to be fired or to step down or for a new promotion to be created. The empty spot stays there for a few days and I think usually you get the job once you apply.</p><p> </p><p> As for the stat increases, it's supposed to happen, especially if a character (your avatar or a wrestler in the game) is under 30 in age. Kind of natural growth. Having matches simply speeds up the process, especially if your opponent is better.</p>

To my european mind and experience, countries are smaller than the game's regions (Central Europe, Iberia etc) and then there's the continent (Europe). To an american, "country" would mean the entire US, game regions correspond to various groups of states and "continent" would include Canada and Mexico.</p><p> </p><p> Like I said, I went with the fact that wrestlers can or can't work on the "bigger scale" (Canada/US/UK/Europe/Japan etc) so if the result says "make them active in your area" that means "area" corresponds to the huge chunks on the map (Canada/US/UK/Europe/Japan etc) and not specific regions where wrestlers are based on.</p><p> </p><p> That said, I befriended Nelson Frye, who was based in and only worked in the UK.</p>

  19. There might be a dedicated thread somewhere that I'm missing, but is there like a basic tutorial of booking traditional Japanese companies? I get the "Young Lion" rule and the division into weight categories, but it just feels like an entirely different thing so I'd appreciate a basic "how to"
  20. Thanks for that, Poputt. They all look good but Cherry Bomb, Jillian Jarvis and Toni Parissi have to be my favorites (that I didn't request )
  21. What can I say, so far I've only had successes or "no effect" but never a backfire. Not like I'm playing it safe either, I've reconciled workers that had simmering tension with each other, even when that was caused by a botched spot and injury. Have me pull off ribs though (done so out of desperation when morale was low) and it's guaranteed to piss off the worker getting ribbed while never making anyone laugh. In no certain order - Dominating worker's Charisma and Menace. Star Quality and Power might factor a bit into this - Dominated worker's Selling. Obviously - A good difference between the workers' sizes and pushes. Can't have an Opener dominate a Main Eventer and expect it to work, neither could a Small wrestler dominate a Super Heavyweight - Gimmicks. Helps when the dominating worker is working a Brute or Legitimate gimmick, some others like Cool and Cocky could do it to. Don't expect anyone with a Comedy gimmick to convincingly dominate a match - Last but not least, match duration, although that's mentioned in the Road Agent notes too
  22. Diplomacy is the one. I've had over 50% success with meddling so far and I'm using the standard Jack of all trades setup (all stats on average). I would assume it also has to do with the personalities of the workers, but there's always a chance factor so you might just be a little unlucky <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

  25. I understand a worker's backstage effect is not set in stone, but without any incidents involving them (or their friends, partners etc) I've had otherwise "neutral" workers become negative backstage influences, but never the other way round, neither negatives going neutral nor neutral becoming positive. Last show this went further, when my Road Agent apparently was no longer a locker room leader. I checked skill tracking, no loss in respect or reputation. Could it be a bug? I just can't get how they've lost leadership skills and the respect of the locker room out of the blue.
