1.
I rebranded GAMMA into a promotion called Gladiator MMA and messed around with the weight classes. The women's divisions are 125/135/145 and the men's are in 10 pound increments as well until you get to Cruiserweight, which is 206-225 and Heavyweight is 226+ with no upper limit.

January, 2005

Heavyweight champion: Gyokusho Fujimoto

He took the title off of Rav Kapur and has made one successful defense against Kel Ryan. Scheduled to defend against Renato.

Former champs: Kapur, James Foster

Cruiserweight champion: Affonso Villar

He's been an absolute destroyer since he came over from ALPHA-1 in 2003. Villar TKO'd Nilton Fantoni at LHW, then starched Marlon John to take the Cruiserweight strap. He has since defended the belt twice against Lars-Gunnar Ekberg and Hassan Fezzik, both via KO (Fezzik in 20 seconds). It's already a thin division and we're running out of bodies to put in front of this guy.

Former champs: Marlon John

Light Heavyweight champion: Spencer Rubenstein

Wow. Mike Watson was on an incredible run as LHW champion after recovering from his 2nd loss to Spencer Rubenstein, touting a 5 fight win streak and 3 dominant title defenses. Meanwhile, Rubenstein was putting the pieces together in a thin Cruiserweight division after 3 consecutive losses at 205. I give him a title shot solely because he's the only credible challenger that hasn't been brutally stopped by Watson. Mike Watson took the first round and was seemingly controlling the 2nd before getting sent to the shadow realm by a knee from Rubenstein with 2 seconds left. Nuts.

Former champs: Mike Watson, Niko Soldo, Rubenstein (from the 2nd time he beat Mike Watson, lmao)

Super Middleweight champion: Osmosis Benn

This division is a mess, y'all. Matthew Dean fought Toby Sorkin for the inaugural SMW belt at Gladiator 50 and dominated for 4 rounds before getting his back taken and losing by rear naked choke in the 5th. Dean and Sorkin would go on to have the worst trilogy of all time, with Dean winning 2 unanimous decisions in the Fence Grappling Championships. Matthew Dean went on to defend against Petey Mack and Maarten De Vries before getting crushed by a right hand from Osmosis Benn in what was originally seen as a pointless trilogy. Benn defended against an overhyped and overmatched Michael Dali, who was riding high off of a stunning KO win over Niko Soldo at LHW. Benn and Dean will rematch in a few months because this division stinks.

Former champs: Matthew Dean, Toby Sorkin

Middleweight champion: Adam White

In Dean's absence, Braulio Moura took over as champion and reigned until White stopped him in the 2nd round. White has since defended his title 4 times, against Nathan Chambers, Neil Napier, Julio Regueiro (stepped up on short notice), and Bill Brown. Was due to get a shot at Matthew Dean in a double belt matchup but Osmosis Benn threw a big ole monkey wrench in those plans.

Former champs: Braulio Moura, Matthew Dean

Welterweight (175) champion: Julio Regueiro

Simply incredible. Regueiro has defended his title an unbelievable 7 times, stopping Buddy Garner twice and avenging his only loss against Bobby Brubaker in the process. Lost his last bout against Adam White, but he was outweighed by over 20 pounds and fought on 2 weeks notice. He looks unbeatable at 175 and has easily cleared out the division. As a result, he will participate in a 8-man tournament at 165 pounds featuring the best fighters from the 155/165/175 weight classes, the winner receiving the Super Lightweight title and a bonus of $5 million.

Super Lightweight (165) champion: Fiyero Lermontov

After dropping his lightweight title to Helio, Lermontov moved up to 165 pounds and took the title from undefeated champ Manuel Silva. Fiyero is slated to defend his belt against all comers in the Gladiator $5,000,000 tournament, first against former Lightweight champion Georges Nouri.

Former champions: Manuel Silva

Lightweight champion: Lamont Banner

This belt has been passed around like mad. Banner recently became the 6th LW champ in this era and there has been only 1 defense made in 3 years. Banner ran roughshod through the featherweight division and is probably our most popular fighter, so I'm hoping he can hang on to it for longer than 5 months. He's scheduled to fight Atep in the 165 tournament.

Former champs: Seth O'Breen, Georges Nouri, Helio, Fiyero Lermontov, Jake Keane

Featherweight champion: Yagi Jokichi

After being just another name in Lamont Banner's long list of KO victims, Jokichi won the interim title against Phillip Ziskie in Banner's absence and has since been promoted to full-time champion. He defended against Easton Frye and is scheduled to fight Fernando Peragon next.

Funny side note at 145, Lars Bohlin and Snorri Gunnarrson will fight for a 5th time after Snorri won a decision to tie up the series at 2-2. Since they're both far removed from the title picture I might just take them to 7.

Former champs: Lamont Banner, Philip Ziskie, Tomohiro Takeuchi, Lars Bohlin

Bantamweight champions: Li-Kong Ho, Markus Waller (interim)

I'm giving Li-Kong Ho one more month to come out of hiatus before I strip that bum of his title.

Women's Featherweight champion: Hope Lehane

Women's Bantamweight champion: Pamela O'Neill

The GOAT. Probably won't lose for a thousand years.

Women's Flyweight champion: Natalie Rogers
