  2. that's....weird. I def played for over 2 years and had Deever, Ratzloff, Hellion, Good, and some others go up. Especially when they reached the 5 years zone,
  3. I know this is bringing a dead thread back, but we are now 2 years into playing RIPW, what are some success stories you all might have had ?

  7. fixed, thank you Press Conference for APEX True Heart As the fans entered the fan site, just outside of The DeVest Arena, a large table was sent up. There sat Magnus Ivansson, EVP’s Marvel Malloy and Storm Spillane, and the other EVP, who began the press conference. “Good evening. Guessing you have heard of me, my fellow EVP’s, and Mr. Ivansson over here. You have also heard of our vision but we will remind you of it in a minute. But first, we must talk about our card.” “A battle royal will start the show, with many of the confirmed roster and those outside of it to determine who will be one of the competitors in the APEX World Championship match at one of the next PPV’s to be revealed. I can confirm member of Mount Rushmore Al Coleman, Junior Heavyweight Legend Acid, and The Architect, as the first 3 members of the match, with more to be revealed nearer to the PPV.” The press conference continued, with Frankie and co talking about the show and what the company is about. Revealed in this part was a triple tag match, with Death Row (Knuckles and Shady K) Flex and Pecs (Frederique Garcia and Mikel Jarcia) and The Dirty White Boys (Grease Hogg and Lead Belly) as an introduction to the APEX Tag division, which seems mostly filled with veterans right now. “This next match is rather special. Canadian daredevil Mimic is known throughout the wrestling world for his crazy moves and care-free attitude. His opponent, is someone you all should know very well….” As the lights faded, the screen above started to play a video. The video showed a darkly lit room, with an American flag standing near a punching bag. A man walks up to the bag, and starts throwing everything he’s got at it. Punch after punch, kick after kick, just trying to level the bag before it eventually falls from the wall. The face looks up at the camera revealing. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Chris Caulfield! The crowd cheers loudly, as Chris comes out. He shakes the hand of Frankie and the rest of the leadership, before hyping up the crowd. Two more matches were revealed. First, Ernest Youngman, the figurehead of PSW, vs former TCW wrestler Texas Pete, who is getting his first national experience since his drunkard incidents. Meanwhile, we saw Tigre Salveje Jr and El Jaguar come out and give a long staredown with The American Cobras. Frankie and Magnus had to stay between the four men before they all went backstage, leaving just Frankie and Magnus. “To finish off this press conference, I think it’s fair to announce the main event, right? Well, at least half of it. In the main event, to determine who will face the winner of that battle royal for the World Championship, I will be facing off against a wrestler to be determined. Until then-" A masked man appears on stage, and just goes ham on Frankie. Throwing kicks and punching the crap out of him. Magnus tries to stop him, but two other masked men stand in his way, and the first masked man grabs hold of Frankie and throws him through a table. All 3 come together, and take off their masks to reveal… . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Pablo Rodriquez and The Mexican Hardcore Killers!!!! The former 4x EILL World Champion and the current COTT Champion is here with one of the hottest tag teams in all of California is with him. The tag team celebrates with Pablo, who directly stares down at the camera. The press event ends with them holding their arms up, as it becomes clear what the main event of APEX’s first show is. Overall a really great press conference in my opinion. I know my fellow podcast buddy Joanne Rodriquez is going to be a backstage and commentary hand for the show, which is a scoop to you readers. We should have more details on other backstage members in due course. But until then, this is Phil Vibert of Vibert’s Voice signing off.

  9. BREAKING NEWS! Frankie Perez, The American Cobras, and Al Coleman have branched off from CZCW to create a NEW company! Backed by near billionaire Magnus Ivansson, the promotion is expected to be an alternative to “The Big 3” that exist today. Magnus Ivansson was quoted as saying “The current National American scene is run as businesses, trying to get an extra dollar for their pockets. For us, we are doing this for the love of the sport and the love of the fans.” Frankie Perez, the current head booker, EVP, and mind behind the operation, has already posted the roster of the promotion at www.apexprowrestling.com/roster as well as reveal the promotions first event, APEX: True Heart, live in San Francisco. A press conference will be held in two weeks, where the expected card will be revealed
  10. Wrestling has lost its meaning Wrestlers are now more expected to make money rather than try and make the audience happy, to go and make sure the high 1 percenters of the world, the Allen Packer’s of the world, the Richard Eisen's feel something. They self-contain themselves with these stereotypical wrestlers from the olden days, and by the time they try to push a young guy he or she is already 30-something. They say it gives people their dues, but really it just means the old and worse wrestlers get too much leeway. Jack Bruce put over Valiant and Rocky on the way out, a Valiant who was nearly 40 and a Rocky who was already 10 times more over then Bruce. No stars made to be great, nothing. At least DeBones put Scythe over. USPW remains the same few people. A great wrestler like Sterling Warlock is going to be let go as Packer can't be convinced that Sterling is the next big thing. Meanwhile, TCW is still making attempts, but they are still fiddling with Mo and some of the others, seemingly not knowing what to do. The future of wrestling is there but not being tapped. Giants and high flyers all exist to take over from the veterans, but no one is capitalizing. It’s time for an “old vet” like myself to take this opportunity to make new stars. Magnus Ivansson I first needed the money. Magnus already was known to come to some CZCW shows and wanted to try and make a promotion. Of course, he didn’t have a voice for his vision, so I had to convince him with a multi-step plan. 1. Bring in veterans to ensure initial popularity. Call me a “Old Man Hogger” or “Ex SWF Indy” but it is necessary for the first 6 months to a year. No one knows who Ernest Youngman is, but they know who Texas Pete is, even if he is a drunkard. 2. Bring in a set of youngsters to initially lose but to inevitably go over. By the end of year one we should have a mix of both, with the vets more popular staying on top but if we bring in Grease and Lead for example, their role will become less and less till they are used mostly to get the youth over. 3.Mount Rushmore, the CZCW stable consisting of me, American Cobras, and Al Coleman, are key for the main event scene even if we aren’t the most popular. The American Cobra Vlog has over 100k subs, and touching on that internet base is a key as no company really is. 4. Working with my old compamy, CZCW, and also the world would be a good strategy to try and ensure the wrestling world can give us new stars. Allow companies to send wrestler on excursion to us. We will take them and make 'em better wrestlers in tandem. 5. Tap markets that no one else is. Tag Teams are considered midcard, why not attempt to make them as big as the singles? How bout women's wrestling, the market that USPW have proven to be successful in? Magnus was really into the idea, and he put aside some of his money to ensure this idea can come true. He shook my hand, and told me to get started signing the people needed to make this happen. With that said, welcome to:

  14. there should be at some point, comes down to timing so I could suck my teeth back into the mod, as I had a general framework planned, just gotta remember it haha. But thanks for sticking around.
  15. Hey man, I just returned to the forums and that's awesome! Glad to see how far my work has gotten haha.
  16. Some of the stats were, but probably not enough to negate the full on "Lottery" thing. It's one of those things where the more long term saves happen the more I can tweak things and ensure that everything is in-line.
  17. Make all of the Corporate things maxxed out. Make your base contracts like 15k or something. Just pay everyone a lot, like more than IRL UFC Maybe buy other companies out? Try to monopolize MMA
  18. The World So Far: The Shark Tank opened up in 1981 by the Monte Verde Hotel in Las Vegas. After a couple of years of what were basically barroom brawls, TST brought in Oil Guru Mark Wallace. Wallace, known for being the main money source for the WWA Boxing organization, helped give the Tank its gears for true MMA fights, rather than its former cockfighting days. Money is in dire straights though, as Mark Wallace refuses to push more money into the company and The Hotel has wasted a lot of funds. Rumor has it that Mark Wallace is looking into leaving the company and starting his own... DAYS OF HALVORSEN Once Mark Wallace became the promoter of TST, he created an Openweight Championship for any fighter to fight for. On one end, Manol Sirakov, a giant of a man with power and smothering power, stood firm. On the other hand, was the much smaller Dan Halvorsen, an all rounder from a wrestling background. In the fight, Dan Halvorsen wrestled Manol down to the ground and on the cage, gassing the giant out and winning the title. He proceeded to then beat another veteran, Ralf Puce, in his first defense of the belt, but his second defense would be short lived... Rick Stanley, a heavyweight kickboxer who could hold his own on the ground, kept the fight standing and TKO'd the champ, winning the Openweight title. This launched the first true rivalry in the company, and the sport as a whole. Rick would lose the title in the rematch, and would lose in the trilogy bout a year or so later. Halvorsen, now in his second reign, made 3 defenses total. He beat Gaelic wrestler Cliff McAddem, who has looked extremely poor since, Heavyweight Phil Verdigree, and the aforementioned trilogy bout with Rick Stanley. But a new top tier prospect emerged, and quickly became the sports most famous star as of today.... George Laurent Becomes PFP #1, Weight Divisions Formed. British Light Heavyweight George Laurent stormed up the ranks and KO'd Dan Halvorsen in shocking fashion! The champion wasn't able to get a takedown at all as Laurent's lighting fast hands carried him through, forcing the win. After that matchup, Mark Wallace had a sports changing announcement. Weight divisions were coming to MMA. Heavyweight (205+) Middleweight (185-204) and Welterweight (145-184) The first championship to be crowned would be the Heavyweight Belt. George Laurent beat Phil Verdigree and Jeff Carlton beat Gunner Nilsson . In the end, controversy struck. George got a punch on Carlton in the Finale, knocking him down. Carlton defended the two shots rather well, and even was getting back up. But the ref stopped the fight! An early stoppage led to George Laurent becoming the first Heavyweight Champion . (TBC)
  19. In 1988, Mixed Martial Arts was a barren sport, considered illegal and barren in most of the United States. But when James Foster entered the sport, everything changed. 21. To coincide with my posts over in the "Fighter Skill Gap" thread, I thought it would be fun to post about the happenings in my game. We will start from the beginning and I'll catch up to where I'm at now in further threads. So we have 6 Divisions, filled with 16 competitors each. Scoring goes 6 for R1 Finish, 5 for R2, 4 for R3, 3 for Decision, and 1 for either a tie or a win for someone who missed weight. We will go down the list for the competitors. (BTW, Using Undertaker666's Expansion mod for this, so watch for that) In Heavyweight, we had the most famous starting off in the promotion, Vince Mitchell and Alex Bigelow. With them, I put in other great fighters such as Pai Cheng and Aleksander Ivanov who had no real popularity here in the USA with prospects such as Nate MacReary and Mort Slingsby filling out the rest of the key players. After 4 matches we head to the playoffs. Standings were 1. Aleksander Ivanov 2. Pai Cheng 3. Vince Mitchell 4. John Rivero 5. Alex Bigelow 6. Fletcher Merman 7. Mort Slingsby 8. Nate MacReary The playoffs had no upsets up till Vince Mitchell going on a run. He beat Pai Cheng (who he already beat in the regular season) and then beating Aleksander Ivanov to win the tournament and the Season 1 Lineal Title alongside it. The wrestler superstar has become our Number 1 in terms of popularity, throughout all divisions of course. For the Light Heavyweights we had big names Leon Banks and Don Wright, and while Leon Banks finished 9th and didn't make the playoffs, Wright was able to slide right in. Matti Kurri and MacGregor Dare were the favorites to win, with both being the top ranked fighters heading into the season. Other notable names include Flavio Alberto, Marvin Knight, Logan Bluffer, and Stephan De Winter. For Playoffs: 1. Matti Kurri 2. MacGregor Dare 3. Stephan de Winter 4. Flavio Alberto 5. Don Wright 6. Marvin Knight 7. Pedro Sousa 8. Cal Hillson Only upset in the first round was Don Wright scoring a submission win over Flavio Alberto, but he lost in the next against Matti Kurri. So final two was Kurri and Dare. Both went 4-0 and were extremely dominent. But Dare came with the win, still undefeated as a pro, and beating the former SIGMA champion. Middleweight was a division full of prospects as their wasn't any names that stood out for their fame. Billy Russell, Mel Edwards, Cody Hughes, Bill Brown, Wesley Sneep, Drew Janks, and Thorbjorn Rekhdal were some of the top names. It was a bit of a bloodbath, but Bill Brown and Billy Russell were the clear leaders, going undefeated. For playoffs. 1. Bill Brown 2. Billy Russell 3. Mel Edwards 4. Cody Hughes 5. Nick Detroit 6. Luis Jamora 7. Pepe 8. Wesley Sneep And the playoffs went as predictable as possible, with Bill Brown winning out in the Final beating Billy Russell. Rather boring overall, but the top 4 became decent names and main event level fighters. In Welterweight Joe Mitchell led the show. Only having 3 or so fights before PFL, he went 3-1 in the regular season in rather spectacular fashion. But he was not alone in the title contender ship. Proven comodites like Hamilton Fonseca Junior, Piotr Dabrowski, and Procopio Golias as well as prospects like Evan Gardner and Evan Pizzarro all gunning for the championship. For the playoffs: 1. Joe Mitchell 2. Evan Pizzarro 3. HFJ 4. Piotr Dabrowski 5. Procopio Golias 6. Kenneth Toadspew 7. Evan Gardner 8. Gideon Navarro A little more upset heavy here. Golias beat Dabrowski before losing to Joe Mitchell in the Semis, while HFJ beat Evan Pizzarro to go to the finals. BUT! Controversy struck! HFJ broke his wrist, and forfeited the finals! Joe Mitchell won by default, meaning he is a disputed champion! Will bring hype to the eventual match come next season. Lightweight was where true chaos happened. Fighters were brought in from XCC, BCF, and SIGMA as well as free agent prospects created a rather even field. Bosco Curbeam and Sammy Newton represented XCC, Tim Oldacres came from BCF, Lukas Mellberg and Milenko Rudonja repped Sigma, and Manoel Cabarel and Watson Viana repped the now bankrupted FLB. Plus, prospects like Chad Zoff and Brock Youdale and veterans Henry Baldwin and Jamie Hewitt were apart of the rest. After a bloodbath of a regular season, the playoff seeds came down to this: 1. Manoel Cabarel 2. Lukas Mellberg 3. Sammy Newton 4. Brock Youdale 5. Chad Zoff 6. Watson Viana 7. Tim Oldacres 8. Bosco Curbeam And the playoffs here is where things got crazy. First Zoff beat Youdale, both did rather decent. Then, our first 7-2 upset as Tim Oldacres KO'd Lukas Mellberg, followed by our first 8-1 upset when Curbeam beat Cabarel by Unanimous Decision. Tim then beat Sammy Newton, and Bosco beat Chad Zoff, meaning the finals of the Lightweight division in season 1 comes down to the 7th Seed and 8th Seed. Englishman Tim Oldacres got the win, meaning he is the Season 1 champion. Craziness. Featherweight was led by former SIGMA featherweight champ Snorri Gunnerson, who was dominant throughout the season. 3 other men, Colm Dee, Foggy Lee, and Freddy Lomax all did rather good and followed Snorri closely. For the playoffs: 1. Snorri Gunnerson 2. Colm Dee 3. Foggy Lee 4. Freddy Lomax 5. Graeme Spark 6. Hisamitsu Suzuki 7. Ryan Landingham 8. Clifton Curry The tournament was won by Gunnersson, as during the semis, Foggy Lee had the only upset beating Colm Dee. Misc: -Drew Janks became the first man to miss the playoffs after going 3-1. This is due to him having 2 decisions. -Lots of journeymen were cut after the season. Bruno Epps, Jacob Barlee, Damien Jones, Yasuhide Yunokawa among others -Couple replacements had to be made this season. Jericho Stewert tested positive for steroids, so Gavrill Sviridov replaced him. Keith Plaice tested positive for TRT in the middleweight division, so Jackson Goode came in. Adenor Togni tested for steroids, so Cesar Granda came in. And Kade Devine was arrested, so Beau LuPone was brought in.
  22. Yeah man that database has been awesome. I'd say a third or so of my guys are from just that alone. Thanks for uploading it.
