Known by some fans as the 'Baby Elephant', Yuasa is one of the largest men on the Burning Hammer roster, tipping the scales at well over three hundred pounds and standing six feet and four inches tall. Yuasa has made great use of his size during his training matches and will have to continue to do so if he wants to succeed on the big stage itself. Yuasa generally looks to end his matches with one of two moves. The Thunder Drop, a devastating Knee Drop to the skull, which sees the 'Baby Elephant' stampede off of the ropes before delivering, and the Thunderkiss, a tight Death Valley Driver, which sees Yuasa lift his hapless opponents onto his shoulders before driving them into the mat head first. Yuasa's hard hitting brawling style, sees him try to overwhelm opponents with strikes and he has been known to rely on the Lariat when all other options have been exhausted. Undoubtedly, Yuasa's biggest weakness is his lack of stamina and poor cardio. Any opponent that can withstand the opening flurry of offence from this youngster would be well adviced to try and stretch a match out for as long as possible to increase their chances of winning. However, if Yuasa breaks onto the regular roster, wrestling every week under the big lights will surely only improve his conditioning and make him an even more formidable opponent. Tetsuzan Kaneko today announced the first full card of the BHOTWG DYNAMITE! tour, which will indeed kick off with a bang. The headline match will see golden boy, 'The H-Bomb' Hiroaki Nakasawa take on the number one contender to Bruce The Giant's World Championship, Yasunobu Masuno. This will undoubtedly be a great match up between of the up and coming stars of Burning Hammer. Long time fan favourite, The Hooded Kudo will lock horns with tag team specialist, Shimedzu, in what looks to be an enthralling contest. Shimedzu has been on a meteoric rise as of late, but despite only wrestling a very light schedule, Kudo still proves almost impossible to beat. There will also be three title matches on the show, with the Burning Openweight, Burning Junior Tag Team and Burning Tag Team titles all on the line. It is interesting to note that recent graduate of the Ascension class, Nissho Yuasa is involved in the Tag Team Title match despite this being his first contest in the promotion, Yuasa claiming a title in his first match would be an incredible way to start this youngster's career. DYNAMITE! Tour, Kanto results The opening show of the DYNAMITE! tour was highlighted by the explosive main event match between Hiroaki Nakasawa and Yasunobu Masuno, which saw both men disqualified by referee Kotesu Shinozaki. In the days leading up to the contest both men had stated that they would be bringing their A-games as both had something to prove and something to gain with a victory here. Masuno looking to gain momentum for his upcoming title match with Bruce The Giant, started the match strongly and almost won the contest with a Tiger Bomb. 'The H-Bomb' was not going to go down easy though, as a victory here would rank him as the next in line to challenge for the title regardless of who wins the big title match next week. The match see-sawed back and forth between both men with neither man being able to sustain a long period of offence and gain victory. As the match went past twenty-five minutes, the action went to the outside where the contest decended into a brawl. Both men began used any object within reach, Masuno choked Nakasawa with a camera cable and refused to release the hold until Nakasawa saved himself with a Low Blow. Both men continued to fight on the outside of the ring and refused to acknowledge the referee's instructions, which left Shinozaki no choice but to call for the bell. Both men continued to fight long after the bell had been called for and eventually had to be seperated by their respective seconds. In their post match interviews, both men said that this issue was far from over. Nakasawa did however wish Masuno good luck in his match next week, stating that he cannot wait to be the one to take the title from Masuno. In a "Special Attraction Appearance", The Hooded Kudo defeated the zealous Shimedzu in a hard fought battle that featured many close falls toward the end. Shimedzu looked to continue what has already been a very successful 2006 by claiming the major scalp of Kudo and came close a number of times, however it was Kudo that gained victory in this battle as he applied the Kudo Lock to Shimedzu, after Shimedzu crashed and burned when attempting his trademark top rope Headbutt, the Shimedzu Skull Drop. Things went better for Shimedzu's Rebellion partner, Miyamae, though, as Miyamae picked up an impressive victory over The Hooded Kudo's trainee, Koshiro Ino. Miyamae controlled from the outset and used a number of questionable tactics throughout the match to retain control. Ino made a few spirited comebacks but the tenacious Miyamae picked up the win after dropping Ino throat first over the top rope and then planting him with the Miyamae Spoiler. Elsewhere on the card, VENOM's reign as Burning Openweight champion continued as he came out with his hand raised following a short but brutal brawl with Shibanum. VENOM eventually won the match with the Suicide-A-Plex, after Shubanum kicked out of Moonsault and a 450 Splash. After the match, VENOM stated that he will step back from no challenge and encouraged anyone from any weight class to try and take the title from him. Kokan and Konda also retained their titles in an entertaining match up with Silver Shark and Yoshii Shiomi. As one would expect this was filled with high-flying action with both teams trying to outdo one another to gain victory, the match came to a sudden end though when Kansuke Konda blocked a Moonsault attempt with his knees and then drilled the stunned Silver Shark with the Konda Driver. In what must be considered a considerable upset the team of The Amazing Kiyaru and Golden Scorpion defeated the much more experienced team known as The Sensations; Burning Junior Champion Sensational Dragon and Elemental II. A surprisingly even back and forth contest ensued here with Kiyaru and Scorpion really pushing the pace and keeping The Sensations busy throughout the match. The match eventually degenerated into little more than a Tornado tag match, with all four men regularly in the ring, Dragon dumped Scorpion outside of the ring and followed out with a plancha, Elemental II looked as if he were ready to follow his partner out of the ring but was rolled up from behind by Kiyaru for the shock victory. In the opening bout of the evening, Fukusaburu Inao and debutant Nissho Yuasa challenged for the Burning Tag Titles held by Chuichi Sanda and Eiji Hamacho. The inexperience of Inao and Yuasa as a team was their downfall as Sanda and Hamacho controlled the pace of the match and isolated Inao from Yuasa. When Yuasa finally got in the ring, he charged into action using his size to repeated knock his opponents down to the canvas. It was all for nothing though, as Inao finally succumb to the Hamacho Sledge 2K. Following the match, Yuasa looked bitterly disappointed at being on the losing side in his debut match. In his post match interview, Yuasa challenged Hamacho and Sanda to another match, claiming that the next time they clash he will not let anyone stop him from victory. DYNAMITE! ...
========================================================== --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE SPARK The official fanzine of Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Gods --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ========================================================== DYNAMITE! Tour, Tohoku results BHOTWG returned to Tohoku for the second leg of their DYNAMITE! tour in front of a Super No Vacancy crowd of 9,748 fans. The packed out arena bore witness to the massive main event which saw Bruce The Giant defend his Burning World Title against Yasunobu Masuno in a thrilling contest. Bruce The Giant was welcomed like a returning hero as the crowd filled the ring with streamers upon his introduction (pictured), which sent Masuno into a rage and caused him to attack Bruce before the bell had been called for. Masuno kept The Giant grounded for as long as possible, trying to wear him down with kicks, stomps and a number of chokes, however when the referee broke the choke hold and stood the match back up, Bruce proved too strong for Masuno to bully. Bruce easily threw Masuno around the ring to the cheers of the fans but to the surprise of all the fans watching, Masuno managed to kick out of Bruce The Giant's trademark Chokeslam. Masuno fought through the pain to get back into the match and eventually managed to take the match to the outside of the ring where much like last week against Hiroaki Nakasawa, he stretched the rules and used every trick he could think of to try and beat down his opponent. The referee was unwilling to throw this match out on a non-decisive result though and allowed the match to continue, The Giant eventually got back into the match after reversing an attempted ring post smash and Press Slammed his challenger back into the ring over the top rope! Masuno was ready and waiting for The Giant as he came back into the ring though and looked to pick the champion up for The Day of Rackening (Torture Rack) but Bruce was too big and too strong and easily broke the hold and hit another Chokeslam for the victory. Following his defeat to The Hooded Kudo last week, Shimedzu just could not seem to mount any substantial offence against the ever-popular Kinnojo Horri. Horri looked in fine form as he peppered Shimedzu with a number of Suplexes and Slams. Shimedzu refused to stay down though and at one point almost scored what would have been a surprise victory when he hit the Glittering Magician Knee Strike out of nowhere. Horri however managed to recover and eventually picked up the victory with a Lariat, after Shimedzu managed to kick out of the Destiny Bomb. Once again, Shimedzu's Rebellion partner, Miyamae had better fortune as he came out on top in a hard fought battle with veteran junior Optimus. This was another evenly matched contest as the veteran Optimus was ready for the shady tactics of Miyamae and countered a number of attempts at cheating into his own offensive manouvres. Indeed, Optimus almost won the match when he ducked underneath an attempted chain-assisted punch and countered with a Bridging German Suplex but Miyamae just managed to roll off his shoulders before the three count. The end came as Optimus looked to come off of the top rope with a Double Axehandle, Miyamae moved back and countered with a questionable Inverted Atomic Drop and quickly hit the Miyamae Spoiler to pick up the victory. VENOM proved good to his word and put the Burning Openweight Title on the line for the second week in a row, accepting the challenge of Spyder Yakuta less than forty-eight hours before the show was supposed to start. VENOM wasted no time in taking the match to Yakuta and dominated the match from bell to bell, eventually making his challenger submit to his Texas Cloverleaf finish. After his match VENOM once again laid out his challenge to all of the BHOTWG roster and through out another open contract to anyone who wanted a shot. Despite being soundly beated Spyder Yakuta took the challenge and stated that next week he would not fall as easily to the Openweight Champion. In the most surprising result of the night, Koshiro Ino made short work of the 'Man Mountain' Everest using his quickness to keep away from the grasp of the American wrestler. Ino bounced back from his defeat last week, cutting Everest down to size with some vicious leg work before finishing him off with the Kobra Bite. In a rematch from last week, Nissho Yuasa and Fukusaburu Inao once again challenged for the Burning Tag Team Titles held by Sanda and Hamacho. This time around Yuasa took a much more dominate role in the match, being the aggressor for the challenging team and spending the most amount of time in the ring for his team, despite being obviously winded at times. Despite that, this appeared to be the big difference maker as a lot of Sanda and Hamacho's strikes had no effect on Yuasa who managed to shrug them off. Yuasa stampeded through Sanda hitting three Running Body Smashes in a row, before driving his shoulder repeatedly into Sanda's ribcage in the corner of the ring. From there Yuasa hoisted Sanda up onto his shoulders and planted him with a Death Valley Driver to gain the victory and the Burning Tag Team Titles. After the match, Sanda and Hamacho praised Yuasa and Inao for their spirit in the match and hoped that the new champions would return the favour soon of giving them a title shot after such a hard fought loss. In the opening bout of the evening, Silver Shark defeated Sussue Kawate in an energetic match, which eventually saw Shark come out victorious following a Moonsault. This show was no different as warriors of WEXXV once again put it all on the line in a number of wild bouts. This show ended up only being four matches long as Eddie and Doug Peak, the Blood Brother Tag Team Champions were stuck in customs and did not make it to the arena in time. The small but loyal fan base did not seem to mind however as the show kicked off with a crazy brawl between rising star Kinji Akamatsu and running joke Tatsukichi Shichirobei. As would be expected it was Akamatsu that eventually got the win over the 'Mongel Warrior' when he planted Shichirobei face first into a set up chair with a Double Armed DDT; but that was not before both men took a beating both in the squared circle and around the building. Both men ended up bleeding here and Shichirobei had to be helped to the back by some fans following the contest. The hardcore action continued as Hiroshi Morisue defended his King of the Deathmatch crown against Chaos Demon #2. As would be expected with these two in the ring there was very little wrestling taking place in this one as both men decided to skip the formalities and get straight down to beating the hell out of each other. The two men traded shots with chairs, baking trays and a whole host of other objects, including one fan's crutch. Chaos Demon #2 set up a table in the ring and set it alight, looking to Powerbomb Morisue through it. However the champion managed to break out of the hold and Powerbomb Demon through it instead, Morisue then dragged Demon out of the wreckage and scored the pinfall. In what must be considered a major coup for Warrior Engine, one half of BHOTWG's current Tag Team Champions and wrestler that many people are predicting big things for, Nissho Yuasa, did turn up as advertised for the show. Many fans had thought WEXXV were just throwing Yuasa's name out there to try and garner interest in their show and that Kajahara would bait and switch the fans into a match between himself and Senmatsu. Yuasa came out to the ring with the BHOTWG's Tag Team Title and stated that he was lowering himself by even stepping in the WEXXV ring. He once again reiterated the statement WEXXV had released earlier in the week, saying that not only could he beat any one man on the Warrior Engine roster, but that he could beat any TWO men. Ryu Kajahara and the giant Senmatsu entered to a huge ovation and the fight was on. This was a wild, out of control brawl that went through the crowd and saw all three men taking serious punishment. In the end though it was Nissho Yuasa who picked up the victory much to the surprise of the Kinki crowd. Yuasa Low Blowed Ryu Kajahara and threw him from the ring, before planting Senmatsu with the Thunderkiss for the victory. Yuasa flipped off Kajahara as he made his way out of the hall, arguing with the fans all the way. After the match Kajahara, the owner of WEXXV for those that didn't know, got the microphone and said he would not let Yuasa disrespect his company like that and would not let a BHOTWG scumbag get away with anything else in his company. The main event of the evening saw crazy, old wildman, Saionji Omura successfully defend the Warrior's Heart Title against Kimitada Ohishi. These two veterans and long time enemies tore the house down with a heated match that predominately stayed in the ring and weapon free. A rarity in the no rules atmosphere of Warrior Engine. The two men traded attacks back and forth for nearly twenty five minutes, both men coming close to scoring victory, Ohishi with three consecutive Lariats and Omura with his Meeting of the Minds Diving Headbutt. Eventually though it was Omura that picked up the victory hitting his Piledriver variation and scoring the pinfall. Ohishi was not happy with the result and attacked Omura after the match and then backstage claimed that this result did not count and that he would take the Warrior's Heart title away from Saionji Omura. Tour, Kyushu results What had appeared on paper as a rather conventional card for Burning Hammer, started off with a bang as the third show of the current DYNAMITE! tour saw Nissho Yuasa and Fukusaburu Inao lose the Burning Tag Team Titles that had only won the show previously. Inao and Yuasa failed at the first hurdle as they came up against the vastly more experienced due of Shimedzu and Miyamae, otherwise known as The Rebellion. Miyamae had been on a roll coming into this match up picking up very impressive wins in singles competition over Optimus and Kishiro Ino on the first two shows of the DYNAMITE! tour and it was no surprise that it was he who had the brightest start to the contest. Miyamae dominated Inao from the opening bell with his fast paced offence, a trend that continued as Shimedzu tagged in. The continuing dominance of The Rebellion only caused rookie, Nissho Yuasa to become angrier and angrier at ringside, continually trying to inject himself into the action illegally. Shimedzu tried to use this to his advantage but failed to put Inao away following a German Suplex. A rare mistake from The Rebellion team allowed Inao to finally tag out and allowed Yuasa to take his frustrations out on the challengers. Yuasa bulldozes through the opposition with Running Body Smashes and Running Clothesline, but the massive youngster begins to tire quickly and when he cannot get the pinfall following a brace of Japanese Backdrop Suplexs, he is forced to tag out. Unfortunately for the champions, Inao had had insufficient time to rest and quickly became easy pickings for the challengers. Miyamae continued his streak of victories here planting Inao with the Miyamae Spoiler, following his trademark Ropewalk Axehandle Strike, and gained the pinfall and the title belt as Shimedzu managed to fight off the enraged Nissho Yuasa. After the match Nissho Yuasa once again criticised his tag team partner for being the man that lost them the match and the titles, 'The Baby Elephant' then stormed out of the interview room when one of the reporters asked him whether or not it may have been his own lack of stamina that had caused his team to lose the contest. Inao was more gracious in defeat, congratulating The Rebellion on their hard fought victory. Continuing their battle against the press, The Rebellion refused to come out and answer any questions and did not even release a statement through BHOTWG's spokespeople regarding their title win. In the main event of the evening, the popular Konnijo Horri took on the mammoth Everest. Despite his loss last week, BHOTWG fans still regard Everest a threat to any wrestler on the roster due to his enormous size and against Horri the size difference was very much the focal point of the match up. Horri tried to keep away from Everest for as long as possible at the start of the match, quickly moving in to throw a leg kick or strike before retreating to a safe distance and forcing his larger opponent to try and catch him. This strategy appeared to be working for the first few minutes until Everest blocked one of Horri's strikes and threw him across the ring with an Overhead Fallaway Slam. Everest controlled the match for a long time, throwing Horri around like a ragdoll, Suplexing him with ease and Slamming him to the match time after time. Horri however refused to stay down and continued to try and fight back as the Kyushu crowd got firmly behind him. Spurred on by the fans, Horri managed to counter a Powerbomb from the 'Man Mountain' into a Sunset Flip for a two count, Horri then managed to duck underneath an attempted Lariat and countered with a Superkick, as the stunned Everest tried to regain his composure, Horri quickly wrapped him up with a La Majistral Cradle and scored the decisive pinfall. In the two other title bouts on the show both champions retained. Much like last week, Openweight Champion, VENOM wasted no time in taking control of his match with Spyder Yakuta and made short work of his challenger. While Yakuta showed a lot of heart it was obviously that once again his was outmatched against the hard-hitting title holder. VENOM focussed on the back of his opponent, wearing him down with a variety of Backbreakers before making Spyder Yakuta submit for the second week in a row to his Texas Cloverleaf variation, The Sting In The Tail. Having surprisingly been on the wrong end of a result in week 1 of the DYNAMITE! tour, Sensational Dragon was looking to get back on track in Kyushu as he defended his Junior Title against Marihito Masuko. In the eyes of many, these two young, masked wrestlers are leading the resurgence of Junior wrestling in Burning Hammer and this match emphasises the reasons why as both men went all out in an effort to outdo one another. The bout started off on the mat, as both men exchanged holds and locks, attempting to trap the other man in a submission hold, however both men had an array of counters ready for any and every situation. As the match got back to a vertical base the pace quickened and both men began to take more and more chances. Masuko almost had the match won when he caught the champion with a Tiger Suplex, but the Masuko's bridge was so tight that it meant Dragon could easily roll out of the predicament. Dragon came close to victory a few times with some of his patented high flying offence including a Springboard Satellite DDT and a Asai Moonsault, however everytime the challenger somone managed to kick out. The end eventually came about as Masuko had Dragon up for the Masuko Cradle Shock (Fisherman's Buster) but the champion managed to reverse the move into his Snap Hurracanrana for the victory. Elsewhere on the card, Mokuami Maita and Silver Shark picked up the popular win over Yasunobu Masuno and Eiji Hamacho after Maita managed to hit his trademark Assassination Attempt on Eiji Hamacho. This was a hastily rescheduled match as Hamacho's regular tag team partner Chuichi Sanda was unable to make it to Kyushu in time for the contest. The inexperience of Masuno and Hamacho as a team and Masuno reluctance to wrestle a tag match meant that Hamacho had to wrestle the bulk of the contest himself. After the match, Masuno brushed off any questions about the match and threw out a challenge to Bruce The Giant for a match in the future for the World Championship. One half of the Junior Tag Team Champions, Kansuke Konda took on Optimus in an enthralling contest. This was a thrilling, open bout that saw both men trade big moves back and forth, eventually it was Optimus that put a mark in the win column when he managed to keep Konda down for the three count with a German Suplex Hold. After the bout Konda congratulated Optimus on his win and stated that he would be more than willing to put his Junior Tag Team Titles on the line if Optimus could find a suitable tag team partner. In a short contest, Silver Shibanuma came out on top against Yoshii Shimoi following a 450 Splash. DYNAMITE!
