ccfc1927 Posted May 16, 2007 Share Posted May 16, 2007 Being a long term fan of wrestling and especially the WWE, I've been less than pleased with what I have been seeing on the WWE programming in recent memory. Without being able to physically change what Vince and co are doing to the company, I can do the next best thing, a WWE Dynasty! There's no back-story as such, just a guy playing on a video game :D I'll be using the superb T-Zone modification with a few updates (such as injuries to The Undertaker and Mr Kennedy). I'm going to try something that I've wanted to do for a while (and what I generally think would add a lot to a dynasty and post any updates on a website as a blog, therefore categorising and archiving each post for future reference. I've made a few posts already. I will post progress here, but I think it would be cool if any of you would like to comment, to do so under the appropriate post - think of it as feedback! Your write-ups are short... which in itself isn't a problem, but a to-the-point style only works if you make a point with it. Like with the Vince segment on RAW... why did he announce a six man tag team match? Why did he throw Ric Flair in who (seeing as you're going on from current WWE storylines) hasn't had anything to do with any of the opponents he'd be facing? Where was Bobby Lashley... it's probably worth mentioning something about him even if he wasn't at the arena for whatever reason, since he's in the companies most-pushed feud at the moment. Further on, did Cena give a reason why he snubbed HBK's challenge? Is he going to explain his decision next week? The booking for ECW was more understandable since you basically just followed the current New Breed vs Originals feud, but what sort of match is Vince facing Heyman in? Is it Extreme rules? Why did he even accept? etc. It just didn't seem like a very big deal. Apart from that, the shows also seemed a little bit segment-light. For example when's the last time RAW only had two non-wrestling segments? Like I said, I'm just trying to give you some constructive advice, because at the moment it just comes along as a lot of things happening with no real explanation/motivation, thus meaning the results have little consequence and therefore as a reader, there seems little reason to keep following the diary. sebsplex Posted May 19, 2007 Share Posted May 19, 2007 Smackdown was better, there seemed a better structure to the show and more purpose behind it. It's had to know exactly how the schedule was broken down, since you might have had a long main event, it's tricky to tell when it's not really specified which matches have gone some distance or which were squashes, but anyway it seemed to have more content. I can understand being short on details to try and build up to certain points, but the compromise with that approach is that you need to do enough to hook readers, otherwise you'll get to the point you want to be at and there won't be the same amount of people following along. It doesn't help that since T-Zone was released, there are a lot of real world and current WWE diaries popping up at the moment, so it's all the more necessary to try and start well.
