WWE: Time To Play The Game...for now...

Recommended Posts

Last night ending up being a load of revision (exams start on the 4th June). I'm doing a bit now, but this should be up by the end of the night. I want to get it up, cos I won't be on here much tomorrow night (c'mon United, beat the Cheslea scum :p). So, last chance for any predictions lol, if anyone else reads this anymore...

Welcome to Friday Night Smackdown everyone, I’m Michael Cole with John “Bradshaw” Layfield and John…we’re in for one hell of a treat tonight! JBL: That’s right Michael. Tonight, we get the Smackdown debut of the greatest junior of all time! Cole: He’s a legend in Japan, and tonight that man right there will make his first appearance on Smackdown television. The camera cuts backstage as Jushin Thunder Lyger steps out of a limo. He’s wearing his mask, but with a suit. Many fans recognise him and give him an ok response, as he’s shown walking down a corridor, past several applauding cruiserweights, to his locker room. Rating: C+ Sylvain Grenier vs. Funaki vs. These two don’t click at all, and so them being in the ring for nearly 10 minutes together was not well-received by the fans. The only redeeming factor seemed to be Funaki getting the completely unpredictable win with the Rising Sun! Winner at 9:44 Funaki Rating: D Christian’s music hits, and Captain Charisma makes his way to the ring. The fans go crazy as he plays up to his “peeps” and gets a mic. Christian: In 9 days time…Captain Charisma finally gets one step away from the top of the mountain. All I have to do is eliminate 14 of the elite in the WWE, and bam! The peepulation will rejoice and a new hero will be born! I’ll do it for all my peeps, and I’ll break the glass ceiling. Last time I was in this company a couple of years ago, I was held down and wasn’t put in high-profile matches, despite you peeple wanting it! Well, next week you all get what you want, for once! I’m getting a shot at a title shot, yeah! One person I look forward to eliminating more than anyone…is Batista! We’ve had our history, and it will be a pleasure to toss you over the top rope on the way to my first World title here in the WWE! Rating: B+ Batista’s music hits, and the Animal walks to the ring in a suit. Christian drops the mic and they get in each other’s faces, nose-to-nose. Batista turns to leave, but then quickly spins back round and hits a brutal clothesline, flipping Christian before he falls to the mat. Batista leaps on top of his back and starts pounding the back and side of his head. The Animal drags Christian to his feet and hits a Spinebuster and then picks him up again. Batista positions him for the Batista Bomb, but CM Punk charges to the ring and hits Batista on the back of the head. Batista turns and gets hit with the Go to Sleep, but is still standing! Punk then locks in the Anaconda Vice, forcing Batista to tap out and saving Christian. Rating: B+ Shannon Moore and Jimmy Wang Yang vs. Deuce ‘n’ Domino & vs. & This wasn’t good at all, although still a slight improvement on the opening match. Deuce was off his game, and it just never got going in its 5 minute duration. Deuce got the pin on Moore with a Crack in the Mouth. Winners at 4:51 Deuce ‘n’ Domino Rating: D+ Jack Styles vs. Jushin Thunder Lyger vs. Paul Burchill vs. WWE United States, Cruiserweight and Tag Team Champion Brian Kendrick vs. Bryan Danielson vs. WWE Tag Team Champion Paul London vs. vs. vs. vs. vs. This wasn’t bad at all, and the fans certainly seemed engaged somewhat. It lasted little over 13 minutes and was a nice display of cruiserweight/junior wrestling. In the end, Danielson forced London to submit to the Arms Across America to get a win in a match involving the US, Cruiserweight and Tag Team Champion, as well as a former Cruiserweight Champion. Winner at 13:11 Bryan Danielson Rating: C+ We cut backstage, where Batista, John Cena, WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion Randy Orton and Mike Tyson are standing by. Tyson: Could you please all stand and show some respect for the man who will defeat CM Punk yet again at Vengeance: Night of Champions, the man who will team with two other men to defeat three nobodies…your Ultimate Wrestling Champion…Randy Orton! Orton: Thank you, thank you. That’s right- in just over a week’s time, I will face CM Punk once again…for the last time. Punk, you must know by now that you don’t have a chance in hell of getting this title, or even winning tonight. We’ve got the brains and the power, and the experience. I mean, you three have some talent. Christian’s a former World Champion in TNA Wrestling, and a decorated champ here in the WWE. Mysterio’s the best luchador in the world…but he’s about 3 foot nothing! And you, Punk…you’re just a failure. Cena: Yeah…now, for once I don’t have much to say- my actions will speak louder then any words could. But all I will say is this…come Vengeance…there’s a new Number 1 Contender, he’s larger the life! His name is John Cena…Word…Life! Batista: In all fairness though John…I’m going to win and Vengeance, not you. But we’ve gotta be on the same page tonight, to prove that whoever wins at Vengeance…we’re going to be the final two. Orton: And it will be an honour to face either of you for this title, after I retain it against that…Punk! Rating: B+ Booker T vs. Ken Kennedy vs. Bobby Lashley vs. vs. This wasn’t all that great, but it was still a decent TV effort by 3 good talents. The match lasted 16 minutes with some good brawling, despite Booker tiring towards the end. Speaking of which, the match came to an end when Booker hit the Book End on Lashley. Winner at 16:03 Booker T Rating: B- The main event is next. Out first is John Cena. Before his partners (Batista and Randy Orton) can come out, he has something to say! Cena: Yo, yo, yo! Look, I know up next I’m teaming with Batista and the champ, the best…but before they come out, I got something to get of my chest. Orton, we’re on the same page tonight, bro. But if you think you’re titles safe, oh hell no! I’m going through FIRE AND 14 OTHER MEN…we’re all gonna fight and won’t come at the same. I don’t care who I go through, but I’ll be tearing it up at Backlash RIGHT THERE! Randy Orton, come Judgement Day…the NEW…Ultimate Wrestling Champ…is…here. Rating: A* WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion Randy Orton, Batista and John Cena vs. CM Punk, Rey Mysterio and Christian (w/)&& vs. && This was a great end to the show. All 6 men gave it their all for 31 minutes and never slowed down. It was mostly a brawl, but flashes of technical wrestling were seen by the faces. After half an hour of back-and-forth action, the match finally came to a close. Mysterio dropped Orton onto the middle rope. As Mysterio ran to hit the 619, Batista stretched and tagged himself in, but remained on the apron. Rey hit the 619 on Orton and went for the West Coast Pop. Orton caught him, and Batista slipped behind the champ. Randy threw Rey back into the waiting arms of the Animal, who delivered the Batista Bomb for the win. Winners at 30:54 Batista, Randy Orton and John Cena Rating: B+ FINAL RATING: B Success At last.... So, any comments?

Yeah I've really enjoyed writing Orton and Tyson as characters, they've just kinda evolved a bit. The first Punk-Orton match was good in terms of ratings, and I'm looking forward to what I get written for their second match (in the proccess of writing Vengeance this week, in between revision).

Good evening everyone and welcome to Monday Night Raw, with me- Jim Ross- alongside my broadcast partner Jerry “The King” Lawler. Lawler: Tonight’s show looks to be fantastic on paper JR, and the WWE never disappoints! JR: That’s true, King, and we’re kicking things off in a big way! It’s a Fatal Four Way elimination tag match! Matt and Jeff Hardy take on The Bulldogs Russ Siaki and Harry Smith, Cryme Tyme and Ruckus and Eddie Kingston, also known as the Bar Brawlers. Lawler: This hasn’t been announced as a Number 1 Contenders Match, but you have to believe Vince McMahon, Eric Bischoff or Steve Austin is watching this, so winning would surely get you that little bit closer to a Tag Team Title shot! The Hardys vs. The Bulldogs vs. Cryme Tyme vs. The Bar Brawlers & vs. & vs. & vs. & Well, WWE disappoint this time. The match kept short, which stopped it from really developing. 6 minutes isn’t enough for multi-man (or multi-team) matches at the best of times, but with elimination rules this came off as a bit clustered, despite Jeff Hardy putting in a stand-out performance. JTG was pinned by Kingston in the 3rd minute, and Smith was immediately rolled up by Ruckus for the second elimination! The final two teams fought for another 3 minutes, until Matt (the illegal man) hit a Twist of Fate on Eddie Kingston, followed by a Swanton by Jeff for the win. Winners at 6:12 The Hardy Boys Rating: D- We come back from a commercial and Vince McMahon is sat in his office talking to someone on the phone. There’s a knock at the door, and Vince hangs up without saying bye. Eddie Kingston and Ruckus walk into his office. Vince: What can I do for you? Kingston: Well Vince, you just saw our match with three of the best tag teams in the WWE. Vince: Yes I did, and I was definitely impressed. Ruckus: Glad to here it. Look, as much as we respect The Hardys, they’ve faced Cade and Murdoch time and time again. Kingston: And even though we love their style, and they really are the best damn tag team in history…we just think that, being the “new blood” of the tag division and being the last team eliminated… Ruckus: We deserve a title shot against Cade and Murdoch at Vengeance this Sunday. Vince: You want a chance? You want to shake this division up? You’re on! Rating: D- Bryan Danielson vs. Paul Burchill vs. This wasn’t that great really, but not a lot of interest is expected for a Burchill match at the moment. It lasted 11 minutes until Danielson continued his amazing streak when Burchill tapped out to the Arms Across America. Winner at 10:54 Bryan Danielson Rating: C- Wooooooo! Ric Flair makes his way to the ring dressed to compete. Before his opponent can come out the Nature Boy grabs a mic and has something to say. Flair: [/ B]Wooooo! Up next, someone is trying to make a name off the Nature Boy. He’s been a tag team champion four times, which is an impressive feat, but son…it’s nothing compared to 16 World Titles! Wooooo! Charlie Haas…you’re about to step into the ring with the limousine-riding, jet-flying, kiss-stealing, wheeling, dealing son-of-a-gun…WOOOOOOO! Rating: C+ Ric Flair vs. Charlie Haas vs. Despite not clicking, these two put on a match more watchable than most Haas matches this year. The bout was a bit awkward for its 8 and a half minute duration, but they did alright. The match came to an end when Flair trapped Charlie Haas in the Figure Four Leglock. Winner at 8:37 Ric Flair Rating: C+ Lance Cade vs. Chuck Palumbo vs. This was just poor, and yet again there was a lack of chemistry evident. The match lasted almost 6 minutes, until Cade picked up the win with a Diving Elbow Drop. Winner at 5:44 Lance Cade Rating: D+ Kenny Dykstra makes his way to the ring with his Intercontinental Title over his shoulder. He’s not dressed to compete and gets a mic from ringside on his way to the ring. He pauses to wait for the boos to stop. Well, that era of my career is over. It’s my time to be a leader and the champion I know I can be. So, keep watching this space because over the next couple of months I’ll be finding myself a new ally, someone to take under my wing. Like I said…watch this space. I’m your host, the Ayatollah of Rock and Roll, the legend, the 8-time Intercontinental Champion…I am Y2J Chris Jericho. Once again, Raw is truly Jericho and I’m your host of tonight’s exciting edition of the Highlight Reel! So without further ado, let me introduce to you…the challenger for Randy Orton’s Ultimate Wrestling Championship at Vengeance: Night of Champions…he’s the Straight Edge Superstar…CM Punk! Punk’s music plays on cue and the Number 1 Contender comes out to a massive ovation. Y2J: Well, let’s not mince words…CM Punk, this Sunday you get your last chance at the WWE Ultimate Wrestling Title against the current champion, one Randal K. Orton. Mr. Punk, how are ya? Punk: I’m just ready to beat Orton to take his title this Sunday! Y2J: …enlightening…anyway, that’s all well and good, but what about Mr. Michael Tyson, the baddest man on the planet? I mean, we all know he’ll be at ringside for the match and it’s thanks to him you’re not the current champ- Punk: No! It’s thanks to Tyson…and a steel chain. Chris, the only way Randy’s got the vast majority of his wins recently is using a chain to hit the RKO. He can’t win without it, but it’s time for Orton to finally get what’s coming to him. Y2J: Wow, you seem certain that you’re gonna get the job done- what makes you think you can actually do it and overthrow the Legend Killer? Punk: He’s made his career by riding the coattails of legends and destroying has-beens- it’s who he is and what he does. He strives on having a legend to kill, but this time he doesn’t- I’m fresh, I’m ready and I’m in the dawn of my career! This Sunday Orton will get what’s coming to him, and I’ll get what’s coming to me…the WWE Ultimate Wrestling Championship! Rating: B+ The Undertaker and Umaga vs. Val Venis and Edge & vs. & This was a fantastic penultimate contest featuring four of the best in the world. Neither team worked as partners in this great 16-minute MOTY candidate. Undertaker chokeslammed Edge, who rolled and tagged in Venis before leaving up the ramp.. Taker turned into a Samoan Spike by Umaga which doubled as a blind tag. Umaga went for a Samoan Drop on Venis, but it was countered into a reverse DDT. Venis climbs to the top rope and hits the Money Shot! The ref counts to 3 and Venis and Edge pick up the win. Rating: A Shawn Michaels makes his way to the ring ready to compete, but with a mic in hand. The crowd go insane and Michaels has to wait a while for them to be quiet. HBK: So this Sunday, it’s the chance of a lifetime for many of the top superstars here in the WWE. One of them is the Icon, the Main Event, Mr Wrestlemania, the Showstopper, the Heartbreak Kid…Shawn Michaels! One of the others is one of my two opponents tonight…he’s a man of many names, just like myself. He’s the Cerebral Assassin…the King of Kings…the Game…he is Triple H. Now, I’ve had a lot of history with Hunter, as you all know. We’ve been friends, partners and bitter rivals so many times I’ve lost count. Well Trips…I’m going to win this Sunday, after going through you, and I will beat CM Punk. You see, if my other opponent up next live on Monday Night Raw on the USA Network retains… I can’t challenge for the title. Randy, Randy, Randy…you’ve made us all so very proud! It seems like only yesterday you were taking out the likes of Harley Race and Mick Foley, years after their retirement, but now! Now, Randy, you’re defended the most prestigious title in our entire company, a title that only The Undertaker and yourself have held! Orton, you’ve made us proud- you’ve done whatever it takes to keep that title around your scrawny waist, whether it involves hiring back-up in the shape of a former boxer, whether it involves hitting someone with a steel chain, or whether it involves challenging me to a match months ago, cheating to win it, and thus I can’t challenge for that title whenever you’re in possession of it. How very, very mature…anyway! If I can get to the point, it’s that the result of the main event is irrelevant. Firstly, I don’t have to be pinned to lose. Secondly, my two opponents both hate me, so the odds are really stacked against me. Thirdly, it doesn’t matter who wins tonight, because this Sunday Shawn Michaels earns his shot to be the best one more time. Rating: B+ Triple H makes his entrance, followed by the champion (accompanied by Mike Tyson) and the main event can begin. vs. vs. (w/ ) This was 15 minutes of the best wrestling action you’ll see anywhere in the world. All three men gave it their all and put on a true classic. Orton and Triple H did initially team up against Michaels, but when Trips went for a cover in the 5th minute, Randy punted him the head and unloaded with right hands. The match was very open from that point onwards, coming to an end nearly 16 minutes in. Orton went for the RKO on Triple H, but the Game pushed him away, right into a Superkick by Michaels. HBK danced across the ring after some Sweet Chin Music but Triple H was waiting. The Game hit the Pedigree and got the win and the momentum heading into Vengeance. Winner at 15:40 Triple H Rating: A* FINAL RATING: B Success

WWE have reached an agreement with Chris (Masters) Mordetsky. Management wish to let him go, but decided it was unfair to just lay him off. He will remain with the company for 3 months, with 5 appearances during the time. He will be paid $1,400 per appearance, with all travel expenses paid. Once he has completed this, he will leave the company. One unnamed source has said that one plan is to give Chris a farewell storyline with a top star, which he will ultimately lose. They feel that giving him a rub on the way out is the best thing, so that they don’t part on bad terms. Also, any comments on the diary as a whole?

Ahh ok, didn't realise you had a dynasty. I'll check it out. And sorry, I really don't get what you mean lol :o - by good, do you mean the write-up, or the rating in the game? Because for the TV shows, my write-ups are generally a very short recap of the quality, any road agent notes and how it ended....are you saying you'll carry on reading if the match got a good grade, or that you'll carry on reading if it has a big, long, well-written recap?

Thanks for the predictions. I may try and get the show up within 2 hours, but Mattitude- sorry the Inferno match won't have a massive write-up, simply because I don't have a load of time in between revision, and I never do big write-ups for weekly shows anyway, sorry.

Yeah pretty much, mainly because I've got exams coming up and I don't have the time really to do it for every match. Maybe once I've finished college completely (June 16th), I may write-up each main event, but I'm not too sure.

Hey I'm readin', this has got to be one of my favorite WWE dynasties on this board (besides mine and G-Prime's.) I'm sort of going to do what you do with Summerslam with the big write-ups and such. Could you give my dynasty a check sometime? I never really consider this up there with the elite, especially G-Prime's, which motivated me to start this in the first place. Yeah doing big write-ups for only PPVs is just a lot easier. I'll give your diary a read at some point, just at the moment I'm swamped with revision. Speaking of which! This may be taking a break for (at most) 14 days. It won't die (I've booked nearly a year in advance, and I'm writing bits of it when I get a chance- I'm half way through Vengeance), but with revision I've just not got the time. During the break, I'll work on converting this to 08 (I'm already half way through getting the roster up to date, so after that it's a case of updating all the stats).

Just to keep people up to date on this- I've finished booking to the end of the month I was on (Judgement Day 08- I'm ridiculously far ahead :p). I've started work on updating a converted T-Zone to match this mod, and at the moment I've added/deleted any contracts that need doing. Now I've reached the end of the month, I can edit everyone's skills, popularity etc. to match. From there, I'll move on to title histories and we should be up to date. I'll post just for interests sake once I've moved over to 08, but all the shows that will be posted in the near (and, well, far) future will be from 07. This will be back in 8 days, and I should have a funky graphic to announce its return :p

To take advantage of the new features and stuff, I'm adding a B-show into this, broadcasting in the USA and UK. Also, because I've got the chance I'm adding back ECW's US network slot because I've got a load of guys super-over in the UK but with nothing in the US. It's not realistic, but I've figured if I've got the chance. That said, all gimmick ratings, contracts, momentum, stats are all as they were Monday Wk 1 July 2008. So, 3 people have just left in-game- I won't add them back, they're gone for good. Things like that. That sound ok to the readers?
