Pre Show Alex Martin, Senshi Dragon and Viscera vs. Tajiri, Bryan Danielson and Paul Burchill This was a poor match, and it wasn’t given any time to develop. It got 5 minutes, which wasn’t enough in a 6-man tag environment. This was evenly contested, coming to the predictable end when Senshi got pinned with the Dragon Suplex. Winners at 5:03 Bryan Danielson, Tajiri and Paul Burchill Rating: D+ Matt Striker vs. “Ace” Chris Colton vs. Mike Knox vs. Sabu This wasn’t great at all either, but it served a purpose. It lasted little over 4 minutes, coming to a shocking conclusion when Knox hit a Spinning Reverse STO on Striker for the win! Winner at 4:13 Mike Knox Rating: D+ Perry Saturn vs. Christopher Daniels Yet again, this wasn’t great but it wasn’t given nearly enough time. These two had to work with little over 2 and a half minutes, which really prevented them from telling any sort of story. Saturn got the win with the Death Valley Bomb. Winner at 2:33 Perry Saturn Rating: D+ Styles: Welcome one and all to Extreme Championship Wrestling, and we’re live all over the United Kingdom. As always, I’m Joey Styles with my partner Tazz and we’re ready to kick things off with a bang! Tazz: Too right Joey! We’re seeing veteran Jerry Lynn take on a comparative rising star in Rob Conway, this should be huge! Jerry Lynn vs. Rob Conway vs. These two didn’t click and had so little chemistry that they could’ve even string together a passable 2 minute match. This was thankfully short, but just not well received at all. Conway got the win quickly with the Whiplash. Winner at 1:37 Rob Conway Rating: D+ A music video is shown to promote Bret Hart, set to “Hearts Burst Into Fire” by Bullet For My Valentine. Rating: B+ The Originals vs. Alpha Monsters & This was just another terrible match that wasn’t given nearly enough time to allow the fans to emotionally invest themselves. It last a shade over 3 minutes, coming to an end with Richards put Abyss away with a Stevie T. Abyss was noticeably hurt during the match, spending most of his time on the apron. Winners at 3:07 Stevie Richards and Tommy Dreamer Rating: D- A video plays hyping Randy Orton vs. CM Punk and their rivalry thus far. It’s set to It’s Not a Fashion Statement, It’s a Deathwish by My Chemical Romance. Rating: A Vengeance Preview: Elijah Burke vs. Ken Shamrock vs. This was a decent match, but the fact that it was miles better than the previous few made it seem a lot better. These two didn’t click either, but they still managed to string together some moves and make a decent midcard effort. In the end, Shamrock picked up the win with a Belly to Belly. Winner at 5:31 Ken Shamrock Rating: C- Vengeance Preview: Non-title: Inferno Match: Kane vs. ECW Xtreme Champion Mordecai vs. These two put on a solid effort in the 8 and a half minutes they were given. Kane’s experience was emphasised, but in the end the champ was able to hit a low blow followed by a Crucifix Powerbomb over the top rope into the flames. Winner at 8:24 Mordecai Rating: B- A video plays hyping Rob Van Dam vs. Brock Lesnar, set to Snitches and Talkers Get Stitches and Walkers by Fall Out Boy. Rating: B+ Vengeance Preview: Rob Van Dam vs. Brock Lesnar vs. This was a fantastic end to the show, which steadily improved as it built towards the end. Any people thinking that the champion should have got the main event were proven wrong. Van Dam sold Lesnar’s offence perfectly, with the most insane spot being the F-5 at the end. RVD was seemingly spiked on his head, but Brock immediately went for the Stretch Muffler, causing Van Dam to tap out in seconds. Winner at 11:32 Brock Lesnar Rating: A FINAL RATING: B First show back, any comments? EDIT: Sorry if it seems half-arsed, it's just it's one of the very few shows I've done that are predominantly matches with no promos lol

Pre-show: Battle Royal This mostly included Finlay, jobbers and some tag teams. It lasted about 10 minutes, with the final four being Deuce, B-Boy, Chris Hero and Daivari. B-Boy was taken out by a kick to the face by Deuce which sent him over the top rope, but Deuce immediately turned into a dropkick by Daivari that knocked him out of the match. Chris Hero came out of nowhere to crack Daivari with the Hero’s Welcome, giving him the win! Winner at 9:45 Chris Hero Rating: D The Highlanders vs. Genocide (Homicide and Suicide (Arik Cannon)) Genocide came out as a proper team, complete with music as a team (rather than Homicide’s regular entrance music). Sadly, they just didn’t work well as a team- their timing was off all the way through, and Rory and Robbie couldn’t drag this to being a good match. It lasted 5 minutes, until Homicide hit the Cop Killa on Rory for the win. Winners at 4:58 Genocide Rating: D- Cole: Welcome to Friday Night Smackdown, and thank you for joining myself and John “Bradshaw” Layfield just days away from Vengeance: Night of Champions! Tonight, in a preview of this Sunday, Brian Kendrick will be defending all 3 of his titles. He’ll be doing it this Sunday at Vengeance, but he’s got to do it again tonight. With partner Paul London, he’s facing off against La Resistance! Then, later on in the show he’ll defend his Cruiserweight Title against former 6-time champion Chavo Guerrero and Matt Sydal, who’s making his debut. Also, he’ll defend the US Title against the greatest Super Junior of all time, Jushin Thunder Liger. Also tonight, they’ll be against each other in the main event Fatal Four Way, but Ultimate Wrestling Champion Randy Orton is making his way out here now to address CM Punk just days before their highly anticipated rematch. JBL: Mike Tyson’s out here with the champ, and that’s always a pleasure! Cole: Can’t say I agree, but they’re both highly respected athletes, and the gold they’ve held in their respective sports cannot be argued with. Orton and Tyson get into the ring and do the Orton Pose, before each getting a mic from ringside. Orton: Quiet, please. Look, stop booing me! This will be you’re last chance to hear me speak of CM Punk and the title. Show me some respect, the respect I deserve. Tyson: Damn it, show your champion some respect people! This is the man that’s defeated The Undertaker for the title and has already beaten CM Punk to retain it. Orton: Exactly, so why I have to wrestle him again for it this Sunday escapes my understanding. I’m Randy Orton, the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in history, and one of only 2 people to hold this championship. Punk, if I use my wits you will not be walking out this Sunday at champion, I guarantee it. You see Punk…you’ve got no big match experience, no title match experience, besides your match with me. I’ve held Intercontinental gold and a World Title, and believe me…this Sunday the Legend Killer will still be WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion. Rating: A WWE Tag Team Title Match: WWE Tag Team Champions London and Kendrick vs. La Resistance & vs. & This wasn’t a good opening match at all, but mercifully it was just under 5 minutes. Kendrick and London did their best to carry Sylvain and Dupree to a decent match, but it just wasn’t possible (at least not to an extent that’d get the fans interested). Brian Kendrick, who looked the strongest talent in the match, got the win with a Get Well Soon to retain the titles. Winners at 4:49 Brian Kendrick and Paul London Rating: D+ Christian’s music hits, and Captain Charisma makes his way to the ring to a brilliant ovation. He slips under the bottom rope and plays to the crowd for a bit, before getting a mic from ringside and waiting for the cheers to die down. Christian: Last week, I kinda proved why I’m one of the best in this business. Alright, that’s kinda big headed, but I’m Captain Charisma! I’ve held countless tag team titles and this Sunday it’s my chance to finally reach the big time. Batista, you attacked me last week when I wasn’t ready to defend myself. Try fighting me face-to-face, when we’re both prepared this Sunday and we’ll see how it turns out. Batista, I’m going to do all I can to be the one to eliminate you at Vengeance and win my way to the Ultimate Wrestling Title. Rating: B+ Cruiserweight Title Match: WWE Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Matt Sydal vs. vs. This wasn’t bad at all, considering it was given less than 3 minutes. The trio managed to fit a lot of fast-paced high-flying wrestling into the time they were given, and the match came to an end when Kendrick hit the Sliced Bread No. 2 on Sydal, giving him a loss in his nonetheless impressive debut. Winner at 2:39 and STILL WWE Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick Rating: C Rob Evans vs. Funaki vs. A rare cruiserweight showcase was quite poor and not well-received, notable only because Funaki got a win, hitting the Rising Sun nearly 4 minutes in. Winner at 3:48 Funaki Rating: D+ John Cena’s music hits, and the Doctor of Thuganomics makes his way to the ring with a mic in hand. Cena: This Sunday I’m gonna prove I’m better than ever, breaking bones as natural as wearing a sweater. I’m going through the best in the business, yo, but I’m most looking forward to getting in there with Rey Mysterio. Rey-Rey can’t beat me, just a matter of fact, I’m gonna toss him over the top rope down to the mat. I’m putting you all on notice, cos it’s for World titles I strive…this Sunday I’m becoming the Number 1 Contender…Word…LIFE! Rating: B Just before Cena can leave the ring, Orton leaps the barrier with Mike Tyson. Cena knocks down Tyson with a strong right, but turns into a stiff clothesline from the champ. Mike Tyson gets back to his feet, and they both begin to lay into Cena. The Baddest Man on the Planet decks John Cena in the face, sending him staggering into an RKO with the chain. Orton poses and then leaves, laughing at the point he proved. Rating: A United States Title Match: US Champion Brian Kendrick vs. Jushin Thunder Liger vs. This was a decent mid-card match between two of the best cruiserweights in the business fighting over the US Title. Sadly, this wasn’t the classic it could have been, with the two just not really clicking in the ring. Nearly 6 minutes in, Kendrick hit a Superkick and fell across Lyger, with his shoulders hitting the mat as well! The ref counted to 3, declaring the match a draw! Brian Kendrick and Jushin Thunder Lyger drew at 5:46 and thus STILL WWE United States Champion Brian Kendrick Rating: C Booker T and Christian vs. Batista and Ken Kennedy & vs. & This was a decent tag match building towards the Battle Royal at Vengeance. The four are the driving force behind the Smackdown brand, and showed why for a quarter of an hour. In the end, Batista and Kennedy got the win and the momentum heading into Vengeance when Christian was pinned after the Batista Bomb. Winners at 14:52 Batista and Ken Kennedy Rating: B Batista and Kennedy start to add insult to injury, further battering Christian and Booker. In the end, the faces fought back, hitting a Tornado DDT and a Book End on Batista and Kennedy respectively. Soon, all four men are throwing fists and brawling out of the ring and up the ramp, still fighting. Rating: B+ Bobby Lashley vs. Bryan Danielson vs. This wasn’t fantastic, but Danielson still hasn’t totally established himself as someone deserving of the upper midcard. The two had a 6-minute match that ended when Lashley speared Bryan through the ropes to the outside. Lashley made it back in before the 10-count, giving Danielson the loss. The announcers make note of the fact that Bryan Danielson still hasn’t been pinned or made to submit since Wrestlemania 23, so his streak is still intact. Winner at 6:37 by count out Bobby Lashley Rating: C+ Non-title: WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio vs. John Cena vs. CM Punk (w/) vs. vs. vs. A fantastic end to the show, all four men gave it their all for nearly 23 minutes of action. Cena looked like he was going to make Mysterio tap out 21 minutes in, but Tyson distracted the referee and Orton drilled him with the chain. Orton turned and went to RKO Punk, but it was reversed into a GTS. At this point, Mysterio was just getting to his feet. CM Punk grabbed Rey and locked in the Anaconda Vice, making the luchador tap out. Winner at 22:34 CM Punk Rating: B+ FINAL RATING: B This was a moderate success.

Sorry real life's been getting in the way, been at a gig on Friday, working for the weekend and just chilling today, got another gig tonight. So I'll try and get the PPV finished by the end of tomorrow, posted by Wednesday (Thursday at the very latest).

Ok apologies! I'm on the very last match, but I'm getting off the laptop in about 15 minutes to watch the repeat of Raw but I promise this will be up tomorrow. As a cheap ploy, once the pay-per-view's been posted (or indeed before if you want), I wouldn't say no to a cheeky nomination for DOTM. :p Ok, seriously only do it if you actually like it, cos I really don't think I deserve it. It's being going a while but it's nowhere near the quality or appeal of some of the greats, but please comment so I can try and improve and get there. EDIT: Ok, biggest apology ever- Word is messing up so I can't actually open my dynasty write-up to post. It is actually done, and I've very sorry for the delay.

I’m Jim “JR” Ross, alongside broadcast partners from all three brands! First of all, let me introduce Jerry “The King” Lawler. Lawler: Thanks JR! Tonight’s going to be huge- all titles but the Women’s and ECW Xtreme will be defended! Raw’s kicking off the proceedings but first let me introduce our Smackdown announcers, John “Bradshaw” Layfield and Michael Cole. Cole: Thanks guys. Tonight look’s set to be incredible! In something unseen since before on pay-per-view, one man is defending three titles in three separate matches on one show! JBL: I don’t fancy Brian Kendrick’s chances of keeping all his titles, but the kid has heart, which could pull him through. Cole: I have to agree that it’ll be difficult, but he’s fought hard to get these titles and won’t disappoint in fighting to keep them. Also on the show tonight is the ECW Xtreme Title Match, and to talk about that, let me pass you to Joey Styles and Tazz. Tazz: Thanks Cole. Wow, Joey! Six of ECW’s top superstars fighting for the right to be the best! Styles: That’s right partner! Also, the main event tonight is CM Punk getting his final shot against this man, our WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion… A music video is shown to promote Randy Orton, set to My Sacrifice by Creed. Rating: B+ JR: That’s the main event, but up first, after requesting this match from Vince McMahon, Eddie Kingston and Ruckus were granted it. Lawler: Vince McMahon was clearly impressed by the Bar Brawlers, and right now they get a World Tag Team Title shot against Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch! World Tag Team Title Match: World Tag Team Champions Cade and Murdoch vs. The Bar Brawlers & vs. & Murdoch and Ruckus start, with the champion using his size advantage to overpower the rookie. He hits a few clubbing blows to the neck before delivering a quick Belly to Belly slam! Ruckus kicks out of the cover and then rolls across the ring and makes a quick tag to Eddie Kingston. Kingston hits a couple of dropkicks on Murdoch, but only gets a 1-count. Cade leans through and tags himself in, taking Kingston out straight away with a stiff clothesline, following it up with a chin-lock. Kingston manages to slip out and make a tag to Ruckus, but he walks right into a Spinebuster by Cade. After about half a minute of struggle, Kingston is knocked off the apron and Murdoch gets back into the ring, illegally. The champs hit the Sweet and Sour…1…2…3. A poor pay-per-view match, this was much too short and just never got going. Winners at 3:12 and STILL World Tag Team Champions Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch Rating: D 5 4 3 2 Y2J! Chris Jericho makes his entrance to a decent reception, playing to the crowd. He gets into the ring but raises a hand as his music fades to silence. Y2J: Monkeys, don’t play the assclown’s music just yet, please. You see, the sexy beast has something to say! You’re about to hear from Y2J, the Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla and the future 8-time Intercontinental Champion! Tonight I will win the match, and the Intercontinental Title will come back home to Chris Jericho, and will be back around the sexy waist of the man who’s held this a record-breaking 7 times. Kenny Dykstra, sorry junior…you’ve got no chance of beating me tonight. My music will be played at the end, and there’s nothing you can do to stop it. You won the title by accident, and you’re whole title reign has been based on mistakes. The gravest of these was to make an open challenge. You think that’s the only mistake? No, no! You left the Corporation! I’m sure you remember me being told that I can’t fight for any title that a member of the Corporation holds, and that including you, Kenny! But no, you must have had a temporary lapse in…sanity, intelligence, brains…because you left and gave me a free passage right to wrestling for MY title. Dykstra…get out here right now because its time for my Vengeance. Tonight, the IC title is coming back home and we’re on Vengeance: Night of Jericho! Get out here, junior. Rating: B JR: Well, it’s clear that Chris Jericho is confident that he’s walking out the winning tonight, but can he beat this man, the Intercontinental Champion Kenny Dykstra? Kenny gets into the ring, and the match can begin. vs. Jericho hits an arm drag right after the bell, but Dykstra rolls under the bottom rope to take a breather. Y2J wastes little time, however, charging and hitting a running plancha through the ropes. The two brawl on the outside for a while, getting back in just before the 10-count. By the third minute, Jericho is in control, hitting arm drags and suplexes on the champ. He pulls him towards the centre of the ring and locks in a grounded full nelson, but Dykstra rises to a standing base. Jericho counters this, however, hitting a Full Nelson Slam into an Arm Lock. The match reaches its fifth minute and Kenny gains the advantage with an eye rake, following up by dropping the challenger with a DDT. The champ goes for a cover, but doesn’t quite make a 3-count. Chris Jericho manages to slip right into a single leg Boston Crab, but the champ turns it into one of his own. As we near the middle of the sixth minute, Y2J reaches the ropes and the official forces Kenny to break the hold. Dykstra moves away but then delivers a swift kick to the gut of Jericho. He goes to lay another boot into the legend, but his foot is caught! Jericho drops him straight into the Walls of Jericho as we reach the 8th minute! The champion’s in trouble, grabbing for the ropes, but continually being dragged to the centre. The match reaches its 9th minute, and Dykstra eventually gets to the ropes and drags himself out of the ring. He gets back into the ring and immediately low blows Jericho, before grabbing his title and sprinting up the ramp. The match was below what was expected, but these two just really don’t click in the ring. Winner at 9:45 by DQ Chris Jericho! , so STILL Intercontinental Champion Kenny Dykstra! Rating: C Cole: Well cheating your way into keeping a title is a strategy apparently shared by both Deuce ‘n’ Domino and Kenny Dykstra. This next match is another final chapter in a great tag team rivalry, and also the first of three title defences tonight for Brian Kendrick! JBL: He’s walking to the ring and he looks confident! He’s defending his Cruiserweight Title immediately after this in an Open Challenge against anyone from any brand who wants to face him- I don’t like his chances! Cole: He’s a Triple Champion! He can get it done in the ring and I see all three reigns continuing tonight, including the US Title one. JBL: But Michael- he’s defending it in a Fatal Four Way against William Regal, Montel Vontavious Porter and his tag team partner Paul London! Furthermore, this is the first of three consecutive matches he’s got! I fancy his chances in this, but not the second or third. WWE Tag Team Titles: WWE Tag Team Champions London and Kendrick vs. Deuce ‘n’ Domino & vs. & London and Domino start by locking up. London goes for a headlock takedown, but Domino slips out and pushes the champ face down into the mat. The challenger drives a knee into the spine of London, then locks in a Camel Clutch. He hits a few cross-face blows before shoving London the mat. We’re midway through the 2nd minute when Domino, still in control, tags in Deuce who immediately goes on the offence. London’s one step ahead, though, hitting an Enziguri before making the hot tag to Kendrick. Kendrick cleans house with some flying forearms and arm drags, before taking Domino out over the drop rope with a Dropsault, landing on Deuce but only getting a 2-count. Deuce gets to his feet and trades blows with the Triple Champion, and the two exchange arm drags until Deuce cracks Kendrick in the face with a high boot. 1…2…Kendrick just kicks out, and rolls into his corner to tag in London. The matches reaches its forth minute with London being double teamed by Deuce and the now-legal Domino, as the former champs hit a Double DDT. Domino unloads on Paul London with rights and lefts but the champ slips out from under the challenger and hits a perfect Hurricarana into a pin! 1…2…no, Domino shoved London away, but turns right into a Spinning Wheel Kick. The challenger gets right back up but is dropped with a perfect Crossbody, followed by a Standing Moonsault, only getting a two count. We’re midway through the 5th minute, just as London gets a hot tag again to Kendrick and Deuce tags in Domino. The Triple Champion hits Dropkicks and Clotheslines on both opponents, before hitting the Get Well Soon on Deuce out of nowhere! 1…2…3! The champions retain in a decent effort. Winners at 5:58 and STILL WWE Tag Team Champions London and Kendrick Rating: C- Cole: They did it! That’s one hurdle out of the way, now London has left the ring to prepare for the Fatal Four Way, which is after this next match. JBL: It’s one hurdle down, but the next one, although up next, is not in sight! Brian Kendrick has no idea who his opponent will be and I think that’ll be his downfall. Cole: That may be the case, but who will it be… I’ll show you! You’ll see! The crowd gives a fair pop as ECW star Stevie Richards comes out and pauses on the ramp, mic in hand. Richards: So, you want a challenger for tonight? You made this open challenge, and to me that sounds like a challenge to any cruiserweight on any brand. Well, I’m Stevie Richards, I’m your opponent and I’M TAKING OVER! Rating: C WWE Cruiserweight Title Match: Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick vs. ECW’s Stevie Richards vs. The two begin with some quite take-downs, but Richards slips, allowed Kendrick to leap on the offence. He hits a couple of Suplexes and Dropkicks, but a dodged Superkick allows Richards to hit a perfect Back Suplex with a bridge, only getting a 2-count though. The match rolls into its second minute and Stevie is well in control, clubbing the champ on the back of the head and hitting a smooth Neckbreaker that looks to have left the champ out cold! 1…2…no, the match continues! Richards turns Brian Kendrick into a grounded Sleeper Hold, but the champion gets to his feet and hits a Northern Lights Suplex as the match reaches the 3rd minute. Kendrick gains control with an Arm Drag into an Arm Lock, but Richards slips out to hit a reverse DDT, but this is countered when Kendrick lifts him into a Tombstone position, but rather than dropping him on his head, simply slamming him down spine-first. 1…2…no! Kendrick lifts Richards up, but Stevie goes for the Stevie Kick out of nowhere! The champ ducks and pulls the challenger to the corner, hitting the Sliced Bread No. 2 for the win! This wasn’t that great a match at all, as the two just didn’t click at all. Hopefully the second half of the show will be an improvement. Winner at 4:32 and STILL WWE Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick! Rating: D+ We cut backstage, where WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion Randy Orton and his agent Mike Tyson are standing by. Tyson: Tonight, the dynasty will continue as Randy Orton knocks CM Punk’s teeth down his throat and continues the reign of dominance. Orton: That’s true, and well you shouldn’t have tuned in tonight expecting anything else. If you really expected to see CM Punk come in as your hero and walk out of here as the Ultimate Wrestling Champion, you shouldn’t have ordered tonight’s pay-per-view. I’m sorry to disappoint, but I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it one last time…Punk has no big-game experience aside from his match with me last month. Tyson: And, well, a news flash…CM Punk LOST that match! Orton: So, Punk can build this up all he wants, but the fact of the matter is that I’m the champion, I beat him last month to stay champion and I’m going to do the same tonight! From there, I will look forward to destroying the winner of the Battle Royal next month at Summerslam…bank on it. Rating: A Cole: Wow! Well, Orton looks ready and you know what partner? That man Montel Vontavious Porter better be ready for this next match! JBL: I’m sure he will be, but is Kendrick? He’s facing off in a Fatal Four Way against MVP, former 2-Time US Champ William Regal and HIS PARTNER Paul London. On top of that, he doesn’t even have to be pinned and has already been in two matches tonight. It just doesn’t bode well at all Michael. United States Title Match: WWE United States, Cruiserweight and Tag Team Champion Brian Kendrick vs. Montel Vontavious Porter vs. WWE Tag Team Champion Paul London vs. William Regal vs. vs. vs. London and Kendrick immediately kick off the match with stereo dropkicks to MVP and Regal respectively. MVP gets up and manages to hit a huge Back Body Drop on London over the top rope to the outside as Regal gets caught with the forearm. The four pair up with the champ and Regal exchanging holds in the ring and MVP battering London on the outside. We get into the 2nd minute, and MVP is driving Paul London’s face into the steel steps as Kendrick hits a perfect Hurricarana on the former 2-time US Champ. The current champ goes for the cover but Regal gets a shoulder up. Regal starts to get to a vertical base, but Porter drags him out of the ring and hits a stiff clothesline before getting into the ring to square off with the Triple Champ. MVP hits a superb German Suplex with a bridge as we near the end of the 3rd minute, but the pin attempt is broken up by Paul London, saving his partner. London hits a nice Arm Drag on MVP but then Cactus Clotheslines his partner but now opponent Kendrick over the top to the outside! Regal slips into the ring and cracks Porter in the face with a knee, going for the cover but only getting the 2-count. The Great Brit then locks in…the Regal Stretch! MVP’s struggling, but he’s nowhere near the ropes! Regal yanks back on the neck, but just as Porter looks set to tap, London hits a springboard SSP! He’s almost immediately pulled out of the ring by Kendrick though and the two begin to brawl. We’re rolling into the 5th minute of the match with MVP controlling Regal in the ring with an arm lock and the tag champions just rolling around, fists flying on the outside! Eventually Regal gets to his feet and hits a swank Northern Lights Suplex for the 2-count, just as Kendrick gets the upper hand with a brutal Flapjack onto the ring barrier. As Kendrick gets back into the ring midway through the 5th minute, he immediately hits a Drop Toe Hold on Regal, who’s now prone on the middle rope. MVP hits a Back Suplex to Kendrick and goes to the apron, before charging to hit Regal with a brutal boot, but the Brit slips out of the way and knees Porter in the spine, sending him to the barrier on the outside. We’re into the 7th minute with all four men taking shots at each other in the middle of the ring. London and Kendrick hits stereo dropkicks, followed by Irish Whips, Back Body Drops to the outside and then Flying Crossbodies of the top rope! Kendrick goes to take out his partner, but London reverses into a drop toe hold into the steel steps (which have been pulled away), but Kendrick reverses that! The Triple Champ somehow moves into a handstand, before dropping back into a headscissor takedown, sending London face-first into the steps! The crowd start chanting “Holy ****!” and Kendrick gets onto the barrier to soak in the cheers, but he’s crotched by Regal who hits a stiff kick to the chest, knocking him into the first row. Back in the ring in the 9th minute, Regal and London are exchanging quick holds and takedowns, with MVP stalking Kendrick who’s just getting back to the ringside area. As Kendrick gets level with the ring post, Porter charges with the boot but only meets steel, and his other leg is kicked from under him. Just as Regal staggers around, he’s met by Kendrick on the top rope! The champ goes for a Seated Senton, but Regal ducks and London takes the hit! 1…2…not quite! Kendrick just starts unloading on Paul London with rights and lefts until Regal quickly rolls him up, again only getting a 2 count. The match reaches its 11th minute as Porter kicks Kendrick in the side of the head, sending him through the middle and top rope to the outside! He turns into a Regal Cutter! No, London hits a Bulldog! Top rope…London Calling! 1…2…3! New champion! London gets the impressive win in a very strong match. Winner at 11:48 and NEW WWE United States Champion Paul London! Rating: B- Cole: Oh my! Brian Kendrick nearly made it out here with all three titles but he hasn’t done so, thanks to his partner Paul London! JBL: Yes! Things are about to get ugly- Kendrick’s back in the ring and he looks pissed! Kendrick has all his and London’s titles. He hands him his tag titles before placing the US Title on his shoulder and raising his arm! The two celebrate together for the fans, embracing in the centre of the ring holding all the Smackdown-exclusive gold. Rating: B- Tazz: That’s what I miss from Smackdown, Joey! Fast-paced, awesome technical action! I’m sure all four of those guys would have fit in the original ECW! Styles: I don’t doubt that, Tazz. But here in the new ECW we can still put on a fantastic show and we’re aiming to do that up next! The ECW Xtreme Champion Mordecai is defending his title against five of the best in the world, let alone ECW. Former World Champions Kane, Rob Van Dam and Brock Lesnar, former Intercontinental Champion Ken Shamrock and former ECW Xtreme Champion Elijah Burke all challenge for Mordecai’s title up next. It’s ECW’s best, a true showcase, and this should be brilliant. We’ve had preview matches all month on ECW, and I just can’t wait. ECW Xtreme Title: Xtreme Champion Mordecai vs. Ken Shamrock vs. Kane vs. Brock Lesnar vs. Elijah Burke vs. Rob Van Dam vs. vs. vs. vs. vs. Kane and Lesnar immediately go face-to-face (as much as they can in the centre of the ring), as the other pair off (Mordecai and RVD brawling in the corner as Burke and Shamrock show their martial arts backgrounds in the opposite corner). After nearly a minute of the tense stare-down, Lesnar throws the first few punches but Kane doesn’t even cover up! After Lesnar charges Kane into the corner with his shoulder, Kane just shoves him away and hits a huge big boot which only staggers Brock! Lesnar shrugs it off and hits a devastating clothesline that takes the Big Red Machine off his feet…no! Kane laughs and hits a quick thrust to the throat which knocks Lesnar down. We move into the 3rd minute with the pairs still the same, just as Mordecai hits a Crucifix Bomb to the guard rail! RVD clutches his back in pain as Mordecai gets into the ring, only to get hit with a Belly to Belly by Shamrock! The former MMA fighter takes out Lesnar with a quick Leg Hook Suplex and then ducks a clothesline from Kane, before kicking his legs from under him. Burke charges with a boot but it’s caught and reversed into an Ankle Lock! Burke struggled for a minute or so, but eventually…RVD springboards into a kick to the shoulder of Shamrock, taking him out. Midway through the 5th minute it’s really just an RVD showcase! He goes to kick Mordecai, but its caught. Van Dam hits the Enziguri and follows up with a Spinning Wheel Kick on Elijah Burke. Lesnar’s backed into a corner, and RVD hits a fantastic Monkey Flip, but gets up only to be goozled by Kane! Chokeslam…no! Perfect reversal into a DDT and Van Dam keeps the facelock on tight. Kane’s looking in trouble until Shamrock’s back in with a swift kick to the side of the head! As the match nears the end of its 6th minute, Kane has Shamrock in a Bear Hug, Burke is landing rights and lefts on Mordecai in the corner and RVD is in the Brock Lock (Stretch Muffler). Shamrock tries to battle out by clubbing the shoulders of the Big Red Monster but Kane lifts him up onto his shoulders and Powerbombs him into the turnbuckle! Mordecai eventually catches a fist from Elijah and Back Body Drops him over the rope to the outside before turning and getting goozled! Kane hits the Chokeslam! 1…2…new champ…no! Lesnar’s released the hold and broken up the pin. The two monsters begin to brawl again going into the 8th minute until Lesnar does the near impossible and gets Kane up for the F-5! He hits it! Lesnar sees everyone down and plays to the crowd, but turns around only to see Kane sit up! Lesnar looks shocked but can do nothing as Kane grabs his throat and gets to his feet. Chokeslam…no! RVD hits a Missile Dropkick on Kane who staggers only to be hit with a second F-5, but rolls out of the ring in pain. Lesnar goes on a rampage, flipping RVD and Burke with stiff clotheslines and delivering a high Spinebuster to Shamrock. From here, Brock turns his attention to the champ and takes him off his feet with a Triple Powerbomb! Instead of going for the cover the inevitable win he locks in the Brock Lock for the second time in the match. After a minute of struggle Mordecai gets to the ropes, but Lesnar doesn’t release right away…1…2…3…4…and the ref forces the break. Mordecai pulls himself out of the ring and Brock turns as Shamrock charges. Lesnar goes for a big boot but he’s caught and dropped into an Ankle Lock! Lesnar looks stranded in the middle of the ring, but RVD comes in from behind and Back Suplexes Ken Shamrock. We get into the 11th minute and Van Dam hits a swift kick that sends Mordecai off the apron to the barrier, but he’s taken out from behind by Elijah Burke! Burke puts him in the corner and hits the Elijah Express, only to turn into the F-5 out of nowhere! Lesnar’s taken out with clothesline off the top rope by Kane though just as Shamrock hits a superb Belly 2 Belly on the champion. Kane turns Shamrock round…Chokeslam! 1…2…3! New champ! Kane wins the ECW Xtreme Title in a brilliant 6-way. Winner at 13:39 and NEW ECW Xtreme Champion Kane! Rating: B+ Styles: OH MY GAHD! For the first time since 1998 Kane is a World Champion! Tazz: This means big things for ECW now! Styles: And bigger things for Kane. This is the first singles title he’s held since 2002 with his last IC Title reign! JR: Congratulations to Kane and well one has to wonder who’ll be facing Kane next? JBL: That’s right Jim, but before the end of the night we will know the Number 1 Contender for the Ultimate Wrestling Title AND who the champion will be. I’m calling Rated RKO facing off at the next pay-per-view. Cole: John, I just don’t see that happening. It could do, but look at the other 14 men in this Battle Royal. Like this man making his way to the ring right now! JBL: Rey Mysterio has neither the size nor the strength to win this. Contrary to what your wife and that slut from high school told you, size DOES matter. Immediately after, Shawn Michaels went to hit the Sweet Chin Music but Batista ducked the hit him with a Spinebuster in the middle of the ring. 12:31: Shawn Michaels went for another Sweet Chin Music on Umaga, who ducked, and ended up crotched on the top rope. Umaga left him but Triple H came out of nowhere with a high knee lift that eliminated HBK from the match. 15:54: John Cena goes for an FU on Mysterio, but it’s somehow reversed into a Hurricarana that sends Cena over the top and out! Cena looks pissed at losing and starts kicked the steps at ringside. 17:22: It took Batista, Christian, Edge and Mysterio but eventually Umaga was thrown over and out. Immediately after, Batista ran behind Christian and tossed him over, laughing as a shocked Christian vows revenge. 20:47: Bobby Lashley’s next out after Jericho hits a brilliant Springboard Dropkick after throwing him over the top rope to the apron. However, as soon as Y2J gets to his feet, Undertaker hits a huge Chokeslam that sends him out as well. 24:05: After a struggle, Ken Kennedy finally repeats his feat from The Undertaker’s final Smackdown match earlier in the year, causing Undertaker a loss. He manages to shove Taker over the top rope and immediately starts gloating, only to be spun round and hit with a Pedigree! 25:13: Still feeling the effects of the Pedigree, Kennedy’s Body Pressed out of the Battle Royal by Batista as Edge and Venis take out Triple H, leaving us with the Final Four of Batista, Val Venis, Edge and Rey Mysterio. 27:00: Mysterio has Venis on the middle rope. He runs for the 619 but no! Cena’s on the apron and pulls Mysterio over the top and hits the FU on the outside before hightailing it through the crowd. 28:35: After slugging it out, Edge is finally pushing Batista over the top rope but Venis pulls him back in and takes Edge out! Edge looks irate as officials drag him away with Val waving goodbye. 32:01: Batista and Venis brawl for nearly 5 minutes until Batista goes for a Powerbomb. Val lands a few punches forces Batista to the mat and goes up top! Money Shot! Venis is willed on by the crowd as he lifts Batista up and gets him over the top! Venis wins a fantastic Battle Royal and gets the title shot! Winner at 32:53 and Number 1 Contender Val Venis! Rating: B+ JR: VENIS WINS! VENIS WINS! BAH GAWD! After nearly 10 years in the WWE Val Venis has finally earned a main event title match on pay-per-view! He’s celebrating with the fans now over the barrier, and my God he deserves it! JBL: Edge had Batista beat and he would’ve destroyed Venis! Too many people got screwed in that and the wrong man won! Cole: Well, John, the fans seem to disagree as Venis embraces them and shakes had after hand. He’s getting back into the ring now with a mic after celebrating with his people. Rating: B Venis: ………hello ladies! At long last I’ll finally get a title shot in the main event next month! I’ve won the World Tag Team Titles with Lance Storm, I’ve held the European Championship and I’m a 2-time Intercontinental Champion, but I’m not remembered for that. I’m known for losing every week but “doing what’s best for business” and not giving in and calling it a career. But, after 9 years of persevering and entertaining you wonderful fans each and every week…it’s finally paid off! Tonight, together we beat 14 of the best in the world today and next month we’ll do our best to beat whoever wins this next match. In fact, if you three don’t mind, Jim, John, Michael, Tazz, Joey and King…I’m going to join you to watch the main event! Rating: B Cole: Well Val, thanks for joining us. You’ll be joining JR and JBL to commentate for this match, take it away! JR: Thanks Cole, and well Val this is a huge chance to scout your opponent for undoubtedly the biggest match of your career. Any idea who you’d rather face? Venis: CM Punk without a doubt. I want a fair fight for my title, and without something to neutralise Mike Tyson and the chain, I won’t get that against Orton. So, please forgive my bias but I’m pulling for Punk. WWE Ultimate Wrestling Title Match: WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion Randy Orton (with Mike Tyson) vs. CM Punk (w/) vs. The atmosphere is electric as the future of the WWE have an intense stare-down. Punk looks from Randy Orton to Mike Tyson on the outside, almost daring him to try anything. The Baddest Man on the Planet gets on the apron, jumping down out of the way as Punk changes. The challenger laughs but turns right into a stiff European Uppercut that gets this eagerly anticipated match underway. The champion unloads with rights and lefts until the ref drags him away. This pattern of Orton dominating with cheating (eye rakes, cheap shots etc.) and the referee breaking it up continues for the first 4 or 5 minutes with Punk getting the odd Suplex, DDT and Dropkick in but the cheating keeps him grounded. The match gets into its 7th minute as Orton charges to punt the challenger but no! Punk gets him up for the Go to Sleep already! Randy elbows Punk in the head until he drops down but the subsequent RKO attempt results in Orton crashing hard into the mat. CM Punk puts Orton in a Dragon Sleeper that makes him scream out in pain, but the champion fights to his feet and flips Punk over into a slam. The challenger slips out of the cover and bounces back with a roll up out of nowhere, but Orton kicks out at 1. We’re midway through the 10th minute and Punk’s in control with a standing headlock before switching to a Hammerlock and then a sweet Underhook Suplex that only earns a 2-count. Punk’s frustration is building as the two get to their feet and just start trading blows, the fans cheering all of Punk’s and booing every hit Orton lands. After a while of this (which the crowd surprisingly eat up), Orton pokes the challenger in the eyes and slams him head-first into the mat. 14 minutes in, Orton is controlling the match with a grounded sleeper until Punk battles to a standing base and hits a Northern Lights Suplex. He keeps on with the bridge! 1…2…no, Orton just gets the shoulder up. Tyson slips a chair into the ring! The ref goes to move it out of the ring when Orton goes to grab the chain from ringside but no! Val Venis is holding on to it on the outside and rips it out of his hands and drops it to the padding on the outside. The champ turns back…GTS! Punk hits the Go to Sleep! 1…2…Tyson’s distracting the referee! Punk hits a Superkick, knocking Tyson off the apron but turns into an RKO but no! The challenger pushes Orton into the ref who falls to the mat! Orton hits a low blow on Punk and follows up by choking him in the corner and getting the chain…Punk hits the Drop Toe Hold and rolls into a Crossface! Shades of Benoit and most of the crowd love it. Orton struggles for just over a minute but eventually gets to the ropes and Punk makes the clean break. We’re into the 20th minute and Punk switches the momentum with a couple of smooth arm drags into a spinning wheel kick. The challenger rolls to the apron and springboards into an elbow that only keeps the champ down for a 2-count. Punk continues for the next few minutes to fly around the ring to take Orton down who fights back with quick cheap shots and eventually his signature Backbreaker. As the match gets to the end of the 25th minute, the Backbreaker’s followed up with a submission driving Orton’s knee into the spine of the challenger. The crowd try and will Punk back into it, but after a long struggle just as he gets to a standing base the champ pulls the hair and drives him to the mat! The crowd are drowning out the commentators on the broadcast, booing every move Orton makes, and going insane in the 30th minute when CM Punk starts to make a comeback with quick kicks and elbows to Randy Orton. Out of nowhere Punk locks in the Anaconda Vice! The champs tapping! Punk wins! No! Mike Tyson’s distracted the referee and Punk releases the hold, pacing around looking angry. Orton gets to his feet and delivers a Neckbreaker to the ref. “He didn’t see it! He can’t call it!” He’s handed the chain…RKO with the chain! Tyson’s in the ring and delivers dozens of rights to the skull of Punk but... Val Venis gets in the ring with the belt! He decks Tyson and then he and Orton have an intense stare-down. Punk spins him round…GTS! Venis goes up top…the Money Shot! The challenger locks in the Anaconda Vice as the ref comes to…Orton taps out! Despite all the cheating, Punk was able to overcome it with the help of his next opponent to even the odds and he’s the worthy champion after a fantastic MOTYC! Winner at 37:03 and NEW WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion CM Punk! Rating: A JR: PUNKS WINS! PUNK WINS! MY GOD PUNK DID IT! Folks, we’ve got a new Ultimate Wrestling Champion! Orton and Tyson’s tyrannical reign over the WWE is over and Orton’s now a Smackdown-exclusive talent. JBL: I’m glad Orton is fully representing us rather than that rookie, but dammit Orton deserves the title! Punk cheated, and if Orton had got the win after HIS interference you’d be condemning him! Cole: You’re forgetting John- Orton’s reign was based on cheating through the chain and his agent Mike Tyson. Venis evened the odds and gave us a fair fight, and CM Punk is now the biggest man in the entire WWE! Pre-show: Steve Corino vs. Nick Armaho In a shocking 5-minute match, Corino and Armaho didn’t click but put on a very good match that had the crowd really involved. A match that would be good for the upper reaches of the main card, management were shocked to see this, ending when Corino tapped out to the Armalock. Winner at 5:32 Nick Armaho Rating: B- JR: Welcome to a new era in the WWE! This is Monday Night Raw, and I’m good old Jim Ross with Jerry “The King” Lawler! King, what a show! Lawler: That’s right JR! Bret Hart’s competing in the main event tonight, with his Survivor Series opponent Shawn Michaels on the opposite team. JR: That’s right, our main event being a huge 8-man tag match between 8 of the biggest stars on Raw. Wow, what a way to kick of the evening though! Here comes the boss himself, the chairman of the entire WWE…Vince McMahon! Vince McMahon gets in the ring with a mic and a huge grin on his face. Vince: Ladies and gentlemen, I won’t keep you long and this will not be a self-absorbed promo from the evil Mr. McMahon. Now believe you me- Satan, his children and the entire WWE should still fear me and those fears would not be unfounded…I promise. But that’s far in the future, but I’m here to talk about the recent past and near future. As of last night, we have a new Number One Contender in the WWE for the Ultimate Wrestling Championship. He’s a real company man and has fought long and hard for this chance. We also have a new Ultimate Wrestling Champion. He’s not been here long but is a great talent and he was able to overcome the odds of Mike Tyson and Randy Orton. It is now time that I made it official…this month at Summerslam… the main event will be…Number 1 Contender Val Venis versus the champion CM Punk…for the Ultimate Wrestling Championship. Congratulations and good luck to both men for now. Rating: B+ Russ Siaki vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Considering Siaki isn’t really well known, not a great deal was expected. However, these two just didn’t click at all and it was really obvious. In the end, the inevitable occurred (after a surprisingly even contest) with Hardy hitting the Swanton Bomb for the win. Winner at 4:05 Jeff Hardy Rating: D+ Non-title: World Tag Team Champions Cade and Murdoch vs. Cryme Tyme & vs. & This was a very solid under-card match that could’ve been a lot worse and held the crowd’s interest less than it did. Lance Cade looked good in the match, standing out above the rest. For the whole 7 and a half minutes, the in-ring quality was decent and the ending a shock with JTG pinning Murdoch after the G9! Winners at 7:37 Cryme Tyme Rating: C We cut to the parking lot where Ric Flair is talking to a random employee. He’s up against Bryan Danielson next. As he walks past Flair, strutting and clearly on top of the world, the Nature Boy gives him a nod of approval for doing whatever it takes to win. The two really gave it their all and turned a 6-minute sleeper into a quick, good technical display. In the end the champion was pinned with a Dragon Suplex, continuing Danielson’s impressive streak. Winner at 5:49 Bryan Danielson Rating: B Time to play the game! Triple H makes his way to the ring in a sharp suit, mic and water bottle in hand. After his iconic entrance, he gets into the ring and waits for the boos to die down. Triple H: Last night…I was in the ring with 14 of the best this business has to offer. Now, I took out Shawn Michaels and Pedigreed Ken Kennedy, leading to his elimination. But you see…Venis and Edge double teamed me to take me out. Part of me is angry…but then I realise that’s really the only way I could be eliminated. Shawn Michaels, however, got taken out EASILY by me, the King of Kings. Shawn- your Royal Rumble wins all those years ago has been proven to be a flash in the pan, including this year’s. You had a chance to prove me wrong and win last night, but no! I eliminated you. If I’d have been in the Royal Rumble in January you would NOT have won and gone on to Wrestlemania only to lose your last shot. In case you’d forgotten, after you lost to Randy Orton on Raw a few months ago you can’t actually challenge for the Ultimate Wrestling Title ever again. So Shawn…why keep going? You can’t win the big one ever again, so why take up space in the main events and Number 1 Contenders matches? As of your loss and failure to even create a moment where people would ask “Michaels won…so can he actually get a shot now”…you failed to do that, and because of that you can’t run away from something anymore Shawn. Look, buddy, I hate to break it to you live on TV in front of the world, but I know you’re watching backstage so look and listen very, very carefully…Shawn Michaels is OFFICIALLY the Has Been- Rating: B+ Michaels’ music hits! The Heartbreak Kid runs to the ring but as he gets in, Triple H slips out and heads to the backstage area. HBK picks up the mic in the ring. Look, Hunter…if you’re not down with Shawn Michaels still giving it his all for the fans, I’m pretty sure the fans have two words for ya? *Suck it!* I thought so. Now, I’ll address Triple H another time, but tonight there’s a bigger issue. Tonight, in the main event 8-man tag match…myself and Bret Hart will be on opposing teams. I’ve not got a whole lot to say on that matter except this; Hitman…stay out of my way until Survivor Series and maybe you won’t get your teeth kicked down your throat. Just go home and rest, eat healthily, eat your vitamins, train hard but most importantly…say your prayers and hope that my God will have mercy on your soul, because I sure as Hell won’t… Rating: B+ Shelton Benjamin vs. Chuck Palumbo vs. Charlie Haas vs. Carlito Caribbean Cool vs. vs. vs. This was a solid mid-card effort and showcased the fact that Raw does have a decent pool of mid-card talents. This 5-minutes throwaway match was quite good, coming to an end when Carlito hit an Outward Rolling Cutter on Palumbo. Winner at 4:57 Carlito Caribbean Cool Rating: C+ Former IC Champion Shane McMahon makes his way to the ring dressed to compete! He gets a mic from ringside and gets into the ring. Sure, the last time I didn’t walk out the winner but Kenny isn’t really doing much better now. Unlike me, he’s NOT an honourable champion. He cheats and hides behind things to get the job done, unlike me who fought fairly for my entire reign. I’m back on Raw this week and I’m laying down an Open Challenge. Anyone on Raw can step up and face the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time, one-on-one, in a history making moment. Who’s gonna face the biggest star in the business today? I’ve beaten The Hardys, Dustin Rhodes, Dusty Rhodes, Chris Jericho and current champ Kenny Dykstra…just this year! Who’s going to step up- Rating: C Shane’s cut off as his opponent makes his way to the ring…Matt Hardy vs. These two put on another solid match on a thus-far good episode of Raw, brawling and taking each other down for just over 6 minutes. After all was said and done, McMahon couldn’t live up to his claims after he was pinned following a Twist of Fate. Winner at 6:18 Matt Hardy Rating: C+ If ya smell…what The Rock…is cooking! The People’s Champ makes his way to the ring to a great response. Now The Rock was sat in his private locker room back stage watching the show, and The Rock just saw Shane McMahon running his mouth about how he’s not been seen since the beginning of June after he lost his Intercontinental Title. Now, The Rock’s just here to say Shane McMahon can complain about all that and run his mouth saying he’s still the best and a fighting champion. The Rock will not glaze over his shortcomings and failures. The Rock has not won a match since March, in nearly five months! So, The Rock says he’s putting the WWE on notice- The Rock’s back on Raw and ready to have one match to prove that he can still go and beat the best. Look, I have to say congratulations on the return but it won’t last long. The fans want to see it, I want to see it and the people backstage want to see The Rock return to pay-per-view…that’s what you all wanna see, right? Rock: The Rock wants that too- Y2J: Well why wait? Ladies and gentlemen and Jerichoholics of all ages…who wants to see The Rock versus Chris Jericho TONIGHT?! See, the people want it. Will The Rock give the people what they want? Rock: The Rock is happy to lay the Smacketh down on your candy ass any day of the week, but The Rock says why not do this at Summerslam? Y2J: Rocky! Rocky! Rocky! Rocky! Look, they’re joining in. They want to see this match up next, a nostalgia shot from my debut. Rock, are you really going to let the fans down? The Rock showed no signs of ring rust and this was a great surprise. In the end, The Rock got the win with the Rock Bottom in his return. Winner at 9:38 The Rock Rating: B+ Johnny Nitro vs. Ric Flair vs. Despite Flair tiring toward the end, these two put on a fantastic penultimate match. Nitro showed that he can hang with the best in the business and Flair showed he can still go with the right opponent. Flair looked like he had Nitro beat with the Figure Four Leg Lock, but Melina distracted the ref as her man tapped out! As the Nature Boy was complaining, Nitro rolled him up for the 3! It was by no means bad, but a bit of a let-down. It was fairly even, but Shawn and Bret were kept apart for the whole match, never in the ring together. After nearly 15 minutes, Triple H hit CM Punk with a Pedigree and the new champ was pinned! Winners at 14:34 Triple H, Edge, Umaga and Bret Hart Rating: B- After the ring has been cleared, CM Punk and Val Venis raise each others’ hands and embrace. Rating: A Suddenly, Edge, Umaga and Triple H are back in the ring taking them out from behind! The lights go out…The Undertaker’s in the ring to even the numbers. The faces start to clean house when Bret Hart gets back in the ring and takes out Punk from behind. Soon, it’s a full-out mêlée! HBK appears out of nowhere and hits the Superkick on Triple H. He goes to hit Bret, who ducks and leaves the ring as the show comes to an end. Rating: B+ FINAL RATING: B Success!

Two big matches have been confirmed for tonight’s ECW on Sci-Fi! Firstly, Ken Shamrock will team up with Rob Van Dam to take on the make-shift duo of Elijah Burke and Mordecai! The last time Burke and Mordecai teamed up, it was against Rob Van Dam and Tajiri, with the winners choosing Mordecai's Wrestlemania opponent. Burke didn't pick who Mordecai wanted back then, and there was friction following that match back in March. In the main event the ECW Xtreme and WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champions are in a Triple Threat! The Main Event will be ECW Xtreme Champion Kane vs. WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar! Quick Picks (and the rest of the confirmed card): Fallen Angels (Daniels and Senshi) and The Miz vs. 2nd City Saints and Bryan Danielson Paul Burchill vs. Mike Knox Rob Van Dan and Ken Shamrock vs. Mordecai and Elijah Burke Non-title: WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion CM Punk vs. ECW Xtreme Champion Kane vs. Brock Lesnar

Pre-show: Val Venis vs. Alex Martin This was surprisingly not a squash and the fans were really into it. Val looked good out there, and dominated the opening minute or so, until Martin hit some cheap moves to gain an advantage. The two traded offence for the latter part of the match until the Venis Fly Trap was locked in and the Number 1 Contender got the win. Winner at 4:51 Val Venis Rating: B- Battle Royal This featured mostly lower card wrestlers, with the final four consisting of Gene Snitsky, Viscera, Abyss (whose performance was hindered by his injury) and Balls Mahoney. Viscera was taken out after a stiff chair shot from Balls Mahoney, who was eliminated minutes later by Abyss after a Black Hole Slam. After a brief confrontation, a Big Boot from Snitsky saw Abyss go over the top and out of the match. Winner at 9:55 Snitsky Rating: D+ Styles: Welcome to Extreme Championship Wrestling, live from the United States but broadcast only in the UK! I’m Joey Styles alongside Tazz and what a night! Tazz: Well I know you well enough to know that you can’t be talking about anything except the show, so I’ll agree! We’ve got a great tag team match with RVD and Ken Shamrock against Elijah Burke and Mordecai and then a huge main event! Styles: That’s right! It’s a Triple Threat Match featuring the 2 top champions in the WWE! The new ECW Xtreme Champion Kane versus the new WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion CM Punk versus ECW star Brock Lesnar! Here comes the man who defeated Randy Orton last night to win his title, CM Punk! Punk gets a fantastic reaction and soaks in the cheers. Punk: At last! So, I’m the new WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion, huh? It feels pretty great and thank you all for your support! But now I can put the long, tough road to get to this point- back on ECW where I began in the WWE, this time THE World Champion- I can put that behind me and move ahead to Summerslam. I’ve got a worthy challenger, a man who’s given his all to this business and this company and really deserves the chance he got at Vengeance. The thing is, he’s worked long and hard to get to where he is now and it will be a true honour to face Val Venis at the end of this month. Val has just fought away to try and get back to being a champion, and if he can beat me he’ll be a Grand Slam Champion! With all due respect Val, you’ve fought your way up the card this year and finally become a superstar…but I don’t plan on giving this title up easily. I know the match will be tough and I know you’re going to bring everything you’ve got, and I wouldn’t expect or want anything less. It’s going to be a match for the ages and Val…I’m looking forward to it. Rating: A Fallen Angels and The Miz vs. 2nd City Saints and Bryan Danielson && vs. && This wasn’t good at all. It was too short to really mean anything, but Danielson came out of this looking good, as it was clear that the fans felt he was above the people in the ring. The match began with Miz and Cabana trading offence, with Miz taking it to the rookie. The middle two minutes was Danielson cleaning house, with the heels making quick tags to eventually make him the face in peril. He made the hot tag to Colton and the match ended 5 minutes in when Colton hit the Twist of Cain on Daniels for the win! Winners at 4:49 “Ace” Chris Colton, Colt Cabana and Bryan Danielson Rating: D A music video is shown to promote Val Venis. Rating: B+ Paul Burchill vs. Mike Knox vs. This was really too short to matter, but it was a surprisingly entertaining 4 minutes. Knox dominated the early part of the match with powerful slams and clubbing blows until Burchill mounted a comeback and somehow hit the C4 on Knox! The crowd went insane for it and loved Burchill getting the win. Winner at 3:44 Paul Burchill Rating: C Paul Heyman is in his office when Mick Foley walks in! Heyman: Hey Cactus, what can I do for ya? Foley: Paul…just wanted to say I saw a couple of weeks ago the whole Stephanie McMahon and Eric Bischoff deal, and then on ECW not long ago with Vince making some bizarre speech about running out of time. Heyman: And… Foley: Just to say I’ve heard the odd rumbling and I don’t like where I think this is going. I think we need to talk… Heyman shoos the cameras out of his office and closes the door. Rating: B- Rob Van Dam and Ken Shamrock vs. Mordecai and Elijah Burke & vs. & This wasn’t as good as expected, but not so awful the fans were bored all the way through. The match started slow with Mordecai and Shamrock trading offence until RVD was tagged in the 3rd minute. RVD cleaned house with swift kicks and flips taking both men out of the ring and following up with a plancha. The rest of the match wasn’t anything special, save for a brief MMA style fight between Burke and Shamrock. After just over 7 minutes, Shamrock hit the Belly to Belly on Burke for the win. Winners at 7:03 Ken Shamrock and Rob Van Dam Rating: C Non-title: WWE Ultimate Wrestling Champion CM Punk vs. ECW Xtreme Champion Kane vs. Brock Lesnar vs. vs. This was a solid TV main event that really kept the fans interest for its 15 minute duration. Kane and Lesnar played the power game for most of it, whilst Lesnar and Punk played up the amateur wrestling/martial arts backgrounds. In the end, Punk was going for an Anaconda Vice, but Kane blocked it and delivered a Chokeslam! Before he could make the pin, he was spun round and hit with the F-5! Brock made the cover and got a win over both champs! Winner at 14:45 Brock Lesnar Rating: B FINAL RATING: B- No specific comments need to be made. Predictions: Gaitorbait: 2/4 Mattitude: 2/4 ColtCabana: 4/4! Well done Colt, thanks for the predictions everyone. Smackdown preview up tomorrow morning.
