I'm Bob Caudle alongside Gordon Solie. Gordon, before we get started here tonight, we have to talk about what happened at Starrcade between Jake Roberts and Ric Flair." Gordon Solie: "I agree, Bob. It was a dispicable act by Jake Roberts when he hit Flair over the head with a lead pipe before getting the three count. Then to add insult to injury he placed that snake on top of the Nature Boy." Bob Caudle: "We can confirm that Ric Flair is going to get his shot at revenge at MACW's World War 3 when he takes on Jake Roberts in a rematch for the NWA World Heavyweight Title." Gordon Solie: "What makes this match unique however is the fact that it is going to be contested under No Holds Barred rules. This means that if Ric Flair wants to take a lead pipe and get his revenge on Jake The Snake he can." Bob Caudle: "Indeed, Gordon, and Ric Flair is known as the dirtiest man in professional wrestling. It will be interesting to see what happens. But for now let's head up to the ring for our opening contest." =B+

vs. Both men are looking to regain some steam after losing at Starrcade, especially the Russian Bear Ivan Koloff since he lost in his specialty match to Harley Race. Koloff dominated the early-going, getting the crowd to boo him as he played to them. Steamboat made a quick comeback though and really started taking the advantage. Finally, Steamboat climbed the turnbuckles and nailed Koloff with that Flying Cross Body from the top turnbuckle to get the 3 count. Ricky Steamboat defeated Ivan Koloff in 6:41 by pinfall with a Flying Body Press. Road Agent NOTES: Referee=Tommy Young...The announcing quality lifted the match. This match lifted the crowd...=B+ Following the match, Steamboat got up to celebrate but was taken down from behind by Dick Slater! This was a domination by the debuting Road Warriors! Hawk and Animal had their way with Tribal Nation while Gordon Solie and Bob Caudle put over the two large men and their manager. At the end of the match, Animal lifted Jay Youngblood on his shoulders and turned toward his corner while Hawk perched on the top turnbuckle. Hawk flew off with that Flying Clothesline known as the Doomsday Device, flipping Jay Youngblood in the air. Mark was knocked off the apron as Hawk made the cover, putting two hands on the chest of Jay Youngblood and sticking out his tongue as the 3 count was made in dominant fashion. The Road Warriors defeated Tribal Nation in 3:48 when Road Warrior Hawk defeated Jay Youngblood by pinfall with a Doomsday Device. Road Agent NOTES: Referee=Adrien Desbois...The announcing quality lifted the match. The colour commentary gave the match a boost...=D

vs. As the Nature Boy made his entrance from the back to cheers from this Columbia South Carolina crowd he headed over to the podium and was given a microphone. Ric Flair: "Dory Funk, you chose the wrong time to walk that aisle against the Nature Boy. Sure I'm beat up. Sure I bled, sweat and paid the price last night but tonight is a new night for Ric Flair. The limousine is fired up in the back and tonight I take my next step toward becoming the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Whooo!" =B And Flair headed to the ring to face off with Dory Funk, Jr. His enthusiasm gave him an early advantage but it also led to him making a mistake and letting the former NWA World Tag Team Champion take the advantage. Both men lost at Starrcade so they are both looking to get the taste out of their mouth. Dory tried to irish whip Flair across the ring but Flair reversed it hard into the corner. Dory staggered out and Flair hit him with a chop block on the knee. The Nature Boy set up and locked in the Figure 4 Leglock! Dory screamed out in pain and tried to hold on but he couldn't last forever and Flair got the submission victory. Ric Flair defeated Dory Funk Jr. in 9:40 by submission with a Figure Four Leglock. Road Agent NOTES: Referee=Adrien Desbois...Dory Funk Jr. has now switched to a People's Champion gimmick...=C+ Dory's brother Terry slid into the ring and checked on Dory for a moment, helping him up...then clotheslining his brother down! What the hell!? Terry lifted Dory up and dropped him with a Piledriver, spitting on his own brother and shaking his head as he exited the ring. =C-

vs. A match that disappointed a little from what was expected between these two brawlers. The fans were solidly behind Harley Race in this one since it looks like he may become the United States Heavyweight Champion here. A back and forth matchup that was slowed by the injury that Harley Race is working through. In the end, the two wrestlers began fighting outside the ring and slamming each other against the guardrail. They didn't realize that referee Randy Anderson was counting them out and neither returned to the ring before the 10 count! Harley Race drew with Greg Valentine in 11:02 following a double count out. Road Agent NOTES: Greg Valentine makes defence number 1 of his United States Heavyweight title. The American Dream is still standing, daddy. World War 3 is coming soon and I want you in the ring one more time to end the year on a positive note." =A Dusty headed to the ring after the interview and this match more than made up for the last match within the fan's eyes. Two Texas brawlers who are a lot alike going one on one. Slater opened many people's eyes at Starrcade when he beat Ricky Steamboat in the ring, albeit by dubious means. It was a bit of a short match between these two that ended when Kevin Sullivan came out and slammed a chair over Dusty Rhodes' head! Dusty Rhodes defeated Dick Slater in 7:37 when Dick Slater was disqualified when Kevin Sullivan ran in and attacked Dusty Rhodes. Road Agent NOTES: Referee=Stu Schwartz...Dusty Rhodes and Dick Slater don't seem to click, and it made for an awkward bout. Dusty was stretched out in the ring and Kevin Sullivan climbed to the second turnbuckle. The fans rose in cheers as out came Ricky Steamboat! Why should tonight be any different? Last night, I beat Ric Flair at Starrcade keeping my NWA World Title. You're not going to take this belt from me. Trust me." =A Wahoo made his entrance and the main event was on as Jake defended the NWA World Title here. Jake dominated a lot of the match to boos from the crowd as this main event seemed more like a showcase for the Snake as the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Wahoo had a few short bursts of offense but Jake always managed to find a way to come back. The Snake ended the match with a pinfall following a DDT. Jake Roberts defeated Wahoo McDaniel in 10:56 by pinfall with The DDT. Road Agent NOTES: Jake Roberts makes defence number 2 of his NWA World Heavyweight title. Slater got lucky on me at Starrcade and tonight I'm going to pove that it was just luck when I pin him 1-2-3." =B It's main event time and what a tag team main event we have for you as two makeshift teams go at it with rivalries on both sides of the fence. Steamboat was there for Dusty earlier in the year when Dusty was betrayed by Bob Orton, Jr. These two men have worked side-by-side on numerous occassions. Then you have Kevin Sullivan and Dick Slater along with the Fallen Angel. What role will she play in the match tonight? This was a brawl from the outset which is just fine with Slater, Sullivan and Rhodes but Steamboat was a little left out of that sort of thing. But he learned some along the way with the crowd supporting him as he took down Slater and Sullivan in the ring. Once the bad guys got the advantage they focused on Dusty Rhodes. Dusty was kept away from tagging in Steamboat as Slater and Sullivan used double-teams behind the referee's back, enticing Steamboat into the ring time and time again. When Steamboat was finally tagged in, he took down both Slater and Sullivan and focused his attention on Slater when Rhodes came in battling Sullivan. Rhodes and Sullivan took their fight outside the ring and inside Slater raked Steamboat's eyes and took him to the top turnbuckles, ROCKING him with a Superplex! After a few moments, Slater made the cover, using Steamboat's tights and picked up a victory! Possible Major News! In the constant game of oneupsmanship here between Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling run by Jim Crockett Promotions and the World Wrestling Federation run by Vince McMahon, it has been learned that the WWF has offered two very prominent wrestlers for MACW contracts and that they are being mulled over by the respective parties. Those two wrestlers are involved in major storylines within MACW and the NWA as a whole. There will be more on this as it develops. ((OOC: just a little teaser for everyone. Two top wrestlers did receive contract offers from the WWF. Any guesses?))

The fans were sort of into this one and getting more and more into it when Terry Funk came down to the ring. Valentine tossed Dory out of the ring and then distracted referee Adrien Desbois. Terry rammed Dory's head into the steel guardrail and then bodyslammed him on the safety mats. He tossed Dory back into the ring and Valentine dropped a Hammer Elbowdrop, getting the pinfall. During the match, Dick Slater came down to the ring and ran interference for Kevin Sullivan, giving Sullivan the advantage he needed over Steamboat, picking up a huge win with a Double Stomp after some well-timed Slater interference. When Flair was finally tagged in, he took Terry to the corner and chopped his chest. He dropped Roberts with a chop! Dory Funk, Jr. came in and focused on his brother, taking him outside the ring and leaving Flair with Jake The Snake! After about a minute and a half in the hold, Jake had no choice but to cry out a submission! Flair has finally beaten Jake, albeit in a tag team bout! What does this mean for WW3? This is a non-title match though to lead off the show. These two wrestlers have had some documented bad blood the last few weeks with Jake taking Terry's side in the Funk feud and Ric Flair taking Dory's side. Inside the ring, the two brawlers had an excellent opening match that lasted longer than most opening matches do. Fans were still filing in but they weren't heading to their seats, instead standing up as they watched the fight go on. The fans booed their disapproval when Terry Funk came out and helped as a distraction against his brother, pointing and laughing at him whenever Dory would get the advantage. Referee Randy Anderson took a small bump late in the match, enabling Terry to climb into the ring but he got thwarted off by Dory Funk, Jr and sent back outside the ring! Dory turned back toward Jake, who kicked him in the gut and dropped him with a DDT! Jake smiled as he covered Dory and the referee came to, making the 3 count. Jake Roberts defeated Dory Funk Jr. in 14:13 by pinfall with The DDT. Road Agent NOTES: During the match we also had Terry Funk run in and attack Dory Funk. Referee=Randy Anderson...This match lifted the crowd...=B- Following the match, Terry Funk came back in and attacked his fallen brother, lifting him up and nailing him with a Texas Piledriver! Terry looked wild as he climbed outside the ring and pulled out two buckets, bringing them both inside the ring. The announcers could only speculate on what Terry was going to do until he poured a gooey black substance on top of his brother! Then, he emptied the second bucket, which was full of feathers! Terry stood victorious over his brother, waving his arms like a chicken. =C-

vs. The strands of Iron Man had the crowd on their feet in boos as the Road Warriors came out to the ring along with their manager Precious Paul Ellering. The Armstrongs were already in the ring and got taken out of the ring quickly by the stampeding Road Warriors, who played to the crowd to get the boos even louder. Once the actual match started, it was still all Road Warriors as Animal showed his power and Hawk showed his speed inside the ring, moving at a pace that had the Armstrongs fighting to keep up. Animal military pressed Bob Armstrong over his head and dropped him to the mat, leaving the elder Armstrong running for cover. Brad faired no better with Hawk and a powerslam that got a 2 count. Hawk tagged Animal back in and they signalled for the Doomsday Device! Animal lifted Brad Armstrong on his shoulders as Hawk went to the top turnbuckle. Hawk turned Brad inside out with that flying clothesline and Animal made the cover for an easy 3 count. The Road Warriors defeated Bob & Brad Armstrong in 3:11 when Road Warrior Animal defeated Brad Armstrong by pinfall with a Doomsday Device. Road Agent NOTES: Referee=Randy Anderson...The announcing quality lifted the match. As one would expect, Race dominated the match but he was definitely off his game due to the injury he is working through. The King picked up the win following a diving headbutt as he prepares for his match on the Main Event to see if he gets a U.S. Title shot. Gordon and Bob talked about how Anderson and Eaton beat the Rock and Roll Express so they should be expecting a title shot soon. In the ring, Steve Keirn looked good for his team but the teaming of Anderson and Eaton was too much for the Fabulous Ones as Anderson pinned Keirn after a DDT. Arn Anderson \ Bobby Eaton defeated The Fabulous Ones in 6:50 when Arn Anderson defeated Steve Keirn by pinfall with an Anderson DDT. Road Agent NOTES: Referee=Tommy Young...The announcing quality lifted the match. Jake, at World War 3, you will be defending your NWA World Title against Ric Flair. Your thoughts on that epic encounter?" Jake Roberts: "You see, Gordon Solie, what Ric Flair does not seem to understand is that a snake is far more cunning, far more crafty than any other living creature. Ric Flair, at World War 3, the outcome is going to be the same as it was at Starrcade." Jake's words are cut off by the emergence of Ric Flair from the back, who heads right over to the podium. Gordon Solie: "Come on now, Mr. Flair, there's no need..." Flair gets nose-to-nose with Jake The Snake and turns like he's going to leave but then chops Jake HARD in the chest, sending Roberts to the ground. Flair leveled Koloff with forearm shots and chops, sending the big Russian back into the corner. Flair climbed up and began raining fists down on Koloff's forehead as the crowd counted along. He got up to 6 before Koloff pushed him off. Flair popped back up and got leveled with a clothesline, nearly turned inside out in the process! Koloff started his own advantage, focusing on the back and while Koloff used some restholds, Bob Caudle and Gordon Solie talked about the ongoing feud between Jake Roberts and Ric Flair and then about the big match at the Main Event this week where Ivan Koloff will face Harley Race for a shot at the U.S. Title. Koloff drove Flair's back onto his knee in a backbreaker, holding it and stretching Flair out as the crowd chanted 'USA, USA' to try to bring Flair back into it. Flair got some energy from the crowd and punched Koloff in the face! A second one! A third one and Flair rolled off Koloff's knee. Both men were down and referee Randy Anderson began the mandatory ten count. 1... 2... 3... Ivan Koloff starts to stir. 4... 5... Ivan is using the ropes to get up. 6... Ric Flair starts to stir. 7... Ivan Koloff is on his feet, using the ropes. 8... Flair is almost up. 9... Flair makes it to his feet and ducks a Russian Sickle attempt by Ivan Koloff!
