What an opening bout for Worldwide. These two technical wizards traded holds back and forth for nearly ten minutes until Steamboat gained the advantage with the crowd support at his back. He went to the top turnbuckle and leaped off on DiBiase with that Flying Cross Body, giving the Million Dollar Man his first loss here in MACW. Ricky Steamboat defeated Ted DiBiase in 9:40 by pinfall with a Flying Body Press. Road Agent NOTES: Referee=Randy Anderson...Ricky Steamboat is starting to become a little stale in his current role. The announcing quality lifted the match. This match lifted the crowd...=B Following the match, a video aired for the fans at home showing Mike Rotundo standing against the blue MACW background with shades covering his eyes. Mike Rotundo: "Ted DiBiase, you did the unthinkable when you paid the Great Kabuki to blind me. You talk about how everyone's got a price for you. At World War 3, I'm going to make you pay. I'm gonna take my price out on your hide. So, yes, I accept your challenge!" =C+ Following the interview, the cameras returned to ringside, focusing on the announce team of Bob Caudle and Gordon Solie. Bob Caudle: "Some strong words from Mike Rotundo there, Gordon." Gordon Solie: "Yes and an excellent win for Ricky Steamboat earlier as he heads into battle with Dick Slater at World War 3." Bob Caudle: "Indeed. Dick Slater upset the AWA Champ last time around but I'm not sure if he can pick up a second victory there." Gordon Solie: "That remains to be seen, Bob. As one might expect, the Express dominated this match even when the Battans tried to pull the twin switch in the ring. They got caught by Stu Schwartz and Ricky Morton hit Bart Battan with a Missle Dropkick off the top turnbuckle, making the pinfall victory. The Rock and Roll Express defeated The Battan Twins in 5:56 when Ricky Morton defeated Bart Battan by pinfall with a Missile Dropkick. Road Agent NOTES: Referee=Stu Schwartz...Bart Battan seemed off his game tonight. The announcing quality lifted the match. The colour commentary gave the match a boost. Ricky Morton looked good out there. The great performance of Robert Gibson really stood out...=C Following the match, Arn Anderson and Bobby Eaton came running out from the back and slid into the ring. Anderson sledged Ricky Morton in the chest while Eaton clotheslined Robert Gibson down. Anderson whipped Morton into the ropes and dropped him with a Spinebuster while Eaton climbed to the top turnbuckle and hit the Alabama Jam on Robert Gibson while the crowd booed. =B+

The focus turned to the podium and crowd cheers as Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes walked out together, standing there. Ric Flair: "Jake The Snake Roberts. Hercules Hernandez defeated Bobby Colt in 4:03 by submission with a Full Nelson. Road Agent NOTES: Referee=Adrien Desbois...The announcing quality lifted the match. Come on out, special guest." =B- Piper motions toward the ramp and Race's eyes watch, interested, not paying any attention to a disturbance in the crowd as someone is coming through and jumps the guardrail. Greg Valentine slides in the ring behind Harley! The crowd is trying to warn him but Race slowly turns and gets LEVELED by the U.S. Title belt! Piper joins in on the attack with Greg Valentine, stomping on the knee of Harley Race. Valentine locks on the Figure 4 Leglock! Harley Race is bleeding from that belt shot and screaming in pain from the Figure 4! Piper stomps on the fallen Harley, laughing as officials come out and hit the ring. Roddy Piper: "That's what I call paying the Piper." =B+

vs. Two very good southern workers come out for this one. During the match, Bob Caudle and Gordon Solie tell the fans that Harley Race's leg is being examined in the back right now after that Figure 4. Inside the ring, Mr. Wrestling II is dominating most of the match in a fairly decent battle. Mr. Wrestling II ended the match with the Knee Lift and a pinfall victory. Mr. Wrestling II defeated Ron Bass in 9:35 by pinfall with a Million Dollar Knee Lift. Road Agent NOTES: Referee=Randy Anderson...Mr. Wrestling II and Ron Bass have pretty good chemistry, and it lifted the match. I've seen you kick Jimmy Valiant's teeth down his throat. I watched as you blinded Magnum T.A. and I watched when you blinded Mike Rotundo. That was the last straw. When you spit that mist into one of my friend's faces I said enough is enough. I'll tell you what, at World War 3, it's going to be you and me inside that ring. You can bring Gary Hart to ringside with you if you want to because it won't matter. If he gets in the way of the match, I'll knock him to the side. But my problem is not with him, it's with you Kabuki. A solid match to start out with, with Dusty and Jake getting the start. Bob Caudle and Gordon Solie talk about the history between these two men with Jake having won the NWA World Title from Dusty. Dusty went right after Jake but Jake soon took the advantage with a rake to the eyes and he teamed with Sullivan in the corner, wearing the American Dream down. Roberts and Sullivan used quick frequent tags to keep the Dream off his feet. But when Sullivan went for his double stomp, Dusty rolled out of the way and Sullivan only caught mat with his feet. Dusty pushed toward his feet, punching Sullivan in the gut a couple of times and then hitting a Bionic Elbow which sent both men to the mat. Flair started getting the crowd into it with claps to try and get the Dream to recover. Referee Tommy Young liberally began the ten count, not wanting this match to end that way. Both men struggled over and both got the tags! Ric Flair came in and chopped Roberts hard! He pushed him back in the corner and began firing away chops to the Snake's chest! Flair moved out of the way of a charging Kevin Sullivan and Sullivan ran right into Roberts! Flair tossed Sullivan out of the ring but Jake used the distraction to take a quick breather and while the referee was distracted, he kicked Flair with a low blow! Jake made the cover, putting his feet on the ropes. Tommy Young didn't see it and made the 3 count! What a horrible win but a win nonetheless for the NWA World Champ! Jake Roberts and Kevin Sullivan defeated Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes in 12:49 when Jake Roberts defeated Ric Flair by pinfall by using underhanded tactics. Road Agent NOTES: Referee=Tommy Young...The Flair/Roberts storyline has continued with this match. Ivan Koloff worked on the back of Rhodes during the match, drawing boos from the crowd. The crowd used a 'USA, USA' chant to get the Dream back into the match. Well, the fans enjoy any match featuring the United States Heavyweight Champion but tonight I begin the process of eliminating Mr. Wrestling II and I'll let Steve Williams finish the job at World War 3. As for Harley Race, well, let's just wait and see, shall we?" =C+ Valentine headed down to the ring for his match. This would determine which match would be for the United States Title at World War 3. It was a pretty good technical match with a few restholds here and there. You think you can pin Ric Flair's shoulders to the mat? I've traveled up and down the road taking on men like you. They're a dime a dozen, pal. Whooo. Whooo!" =C Jake led King Kong Bundy out to the ring but referee Tommy Young kicked Jake Roberts to the back, saying that Jake cannot be allowed to stay at ringside! After Jake was gone, Ric Flair made his appearance from the back to a huge ovation here in Greensboro. Once Flair made it inside, the bell sounded and the match was on. Flair tried several chops against the MASSIVE chest of King Kong Bundy but just got pushed down for his trouble. Bundy threw his weight around in this match against Flair, using his size to keep Flair from mounting much of an offensive momentum. But it was also wearing the big man out and he couldn't find a way to finish the job! Bundy whipped Flair into the corner and prepared for his Avalanche! The crowd tried to get Flair into it and Flair moved at the last second, sending King Kong Bundy chest-first into the turnbuckle! Flair rolled Bundy up and actually picked up the victory after being dominated throghout most of the match! Terry comes to the ring next and referee Stu Schwartz keeps them apart until he calls for the bell. Just a great opening match between the two veterans who know each other so well. Neither man seemed to be pulling any punches and the crowd really got behind Dory Funk, Jr., cheering and clapping for him when Terry took the advantage. Dory slowly got the advantage again and Terry backed up against the ropes. Dory came forward and clotheslined both of them over the top rope! It's a car wreck on the outside of the ring! Referee Stu Schwartz begins his count and Dory is the first slowly getting to his feet. Terry calls for his brother to help him and Dory is torn between getting into the ring and helping his brother. He looks back and forth between the two for long enough that Stu Schwartz calls for the bell. Terry Funk drew with Dory Funk Jr. in 19:35 following a double count out. Road Agent NOTES: Referee=Stu Schwartz...The announcing quality lifted the match. The Funks Explode! storyline has continued with this match. This match lifted the crowd...=B Following the match, Dory helps his brother to slowly gain his feet, putting his arm over his shoulder, helping him toward the back. They get about halfway up the aisle and Terry turns, clotheslining his brother down! It was all a damn set-up! Terry stomps on his fallen brother until several wrestlers come down to break it up. What a lousy sonofabitch! =C

w/ vs. The fans were still buzzing about the brother grudge match as Steve Williams came out with his manager Bobby Heenan to take on Mr. Wrestling II. Wrestling II focused on the more technical side of the match while Dr. Death brawled. Has there been a brawler who could ever truly beat a technical athlete? Mr. Wrestling II would say no but Dr. Death showed some technical skills as well, surprising Wrestling II. In the end, Mr. Wrestling II got Williams set up for the knee lift but Bobby Heenan got on the apron, distracting referee Stu Schwartz and Mr. Wrestling II! They both walked over to Heenan and Williams got up, slamming a double sledge to the back of Mr. Wrestling II, lifting him up and hitting the Oklahoma Stampede for the pinfall win. Steve Williams defeated Mr. Wrestling II in 13:09 by pinfall when Bobby Heenan interfered. Road Agent NOTES: Referee=Stu Schwartz...Bobby Heenan did some good work at ringside. Tonight, you are going to be facing me in a hardcore match. Do you know what that means? It means that anything goes. If I want to hit you with a chair, I can do it. If I want to hit you with a sledgehammer, I can do it. If I want to take you outside and ram your head against the building, I can do that too. You were never any better than me, American Dream. And tonight, tonight your dream becomes a nightmare." =B+ Sullivan headed to the ring with the Fallen Angel by his side and waited the entrance of Dusty Rhodes. The crowd cheered for the American Dream, who was dressed in his bunkhouse attire with a t-shirt and jeans. Rhodes looked down at the smaller Sullivan once inside the ring and Sullivan dropped down, sliding out of the ring. He went walking around it as the bell sounded, grabbing a chair and sliding into the ring with the chair in hand. He stalked toward Rhodes, who didn't back down. Sullivan swung and Dusty blocked it! Dusty grabbed the chair from Kevin Sullivan and cracked it over Sullivan's head! Sully hit the mat hard and quickly got out of the ring and out of range of the chair. Dusty held the chair up with one hand to cheers from the crowd. Sullivan grabbed another chair and slid into the ring, holding it up protectively. Behind Dusty, the Fallen Angel slowly slid inside the ring quietly. She snuck up on Dusty but the crowd alerted the American Dream and he turned to stare at the Fallen Angel. But this distracted him from Kevin Sullivan and Sullivan rushed him, smacking him in the back with the chair. Dusty dropped to his knees in pain and the Fallen Angel raked at his eyes, screaming out loud! Sullivan motioned the Fallen Angel out of the ring and moved around, smacking Dusty on the top of the head with the chair. Dusty fell backward, busted open from the chairshot. Sullivan smiled as he tossed the chair away and made the cover. 1...2...shoulder up! Dusty's not done yet! Sullivan continued his dominance during this part of the match, working on the forehead of the American Dream and busting him open further while the Fallen Angel cheered her man on from ringside. Sullivan got Dusty in the corner and began whipping him toward the other side but Dusty stopped him! Sullivan tried again but Dusty held on! The American Dream leaned back in the corner and Sullivan climbed up, biting Dusty on the already busted open forehead! Dusty cried out sharply in pain, grabbing Sullivan and power bombing him out of sheer desperation. The turnbuckle being the only thing keeping Dusty Rhodes up right now. The crowd began chanting 'Dusty, Dusty, Dusty' in the background as the Dream stomped on the fallen Kevin Sullivan, using the turnbuckle to keep his feet. This is a fight to the end, folks! Dusty picks Sullivan up and body slams him to the ground but staggers a little bit himself. His face is a crimson mask! He waits for Sullivan to get to his feet and begins peppering him with lefts, lefts, left, left, left and then a bionic elbow for good measure! Sullivan hits the mat and Dusty drops an elbow! He makes the cover: 1...2...Fallen Angel breaks the count by jumping on Dusty's back and raking his eyes! Dusty cries out in pain, trying to swing the Fallen Angel off his back, rolling on the mat! The Fallen Angel gets up and puts her foot on Dusty's windpipe, choking the American Dream and yelling for Sullivan to get up! Sullivan is slow to his feet and sees the prone American Dream. He moves to the second turnbuckle quickly and leaps...Double Stomp on the Dream's chest! Sullivan motions the Fallen Angel out of the ring and makes the cover. 1...2...3! Kevin Sullivan picks up the win! Kevin Sullivan defeated Dusty Rhodes in 14:38 by pinfall with a Double Stomp. Road Agent NOTES: Referee=Stu Schwartz...The Rhodes/Sullivan storyline has continued with this match...=B-

vs. Following the Hardcore match came the match for the NWA World Tag Team Titles, keeping the crowd hot as Arn Anderson and Bobby Eaton were booed coming out to the ring to face the NWA World Tag Team Champions the Rock and Roll Express. The crowd were hot for the Express as they should be and this was a match where the Express sped things up when they had the momentum and Anderson and Eaton slowed things down, using their technical skills in this match. When the crowd got behind the Express, the tag champs showed their resilliance in fighting back against the technical expertise of Anderson and Eaton. Anderson was knocked out of the ring late and the Express sent Eaton into the ropes and nailed a double dropkick! Robert Gibson made the cover on Eaton: 1...2...pinfall broken up by Double A and a belt shot! The crowd booed and the referee saw it, signaling for the bell. It was announced during this match that Greg Valentine had a 15 minute time limit put on the bout. As the fans would expect, this was a slow, technical match that slowly built toward it's conclusion. Valentine focused on the knee of Harley Race while Race turned his attention to the neck of Greg Valentine setting up for the Figure 4 and Piledriver respectively. An announcement was made over the intercom each time 5 minutes passed by and the crowd was buzzing when 10 minutes passed by and Valentine got Race set up for the Figure 4 Leglock. Valentine leaned in to grab the leg and Race rolled him into a small package: 1...2...kickout! Valentine managed to kick out! But Harley Race punched him in the gut and began his comeback with 3 minutes remaining. Race bodyslammed Valentine to the ground and called for his Piledriver to cheers from the crowd! The King grabbed Valentine as the 1 minute to go sounded! Race pulled Valentine in, moved around to the crowd and then lifted Valentine up, piledriving him to the mat! Race made the cover and referee Stu Schwartz dropped down: 1...2...bell sounds...3! Harley Race popped up with his arms in the air! Referee Stu Schwartz went to get the belt and spoke with the timekeeper briefly before turning back toward the combatants. He reached for Race's arm...and thrust it down! He announced that the time limit expired before he reached the 3 count, handing Valentine the belt while he lay on the mat. This was a better than average match between Windham and Kabuki. It saw Gary Hart try to interfere during the match but Windham wasn't having it, ducking a mist shot that was sent right into Gary Hart's eyes! Hart fell off the apron and grabbed his eyes, wiping at them. EMTs came out to help Gary Hart to the back and Windham dominated there, placing Kabuki on the turnbuckles and dropping him with the Superplex and floatover pin for the big win! He slid inside the ring and tossed the cane over the top rope and leaned back against the ropes as Mike Rotundo made his way out along with Wahoo McDaniel. Wahoo helped Rotundo to the ring and the bell sounded. DiBiase looked across at Rotundo, throwing his head back and laughing. Wahoo yelled up at Rotundo, trying to tell him where DiBiase is as they began circling. They walked toward each other and DiBiase ducked out of the way sending Rotundo staggering toward the turnbuckles. He turned back around and DiBiase fired some rights and lefts into Rotundo's gut. DiBiase backed off and laughed at Rotundo again but this gave Rotundo the opening to move forward and trip DiBiase with a double-leg takedown, riding the Million Dollar Man as DiBiase worked to get on his stomach. Rotundo swung around and wrapped DiBiase in a front facelock to cheers from the crowd. Referee Tommy Young asked DiBiase if he gave up but DiBiase did not. He slowly worked to his knees and twisted things around into a hammerlock on Rotundo, pushing Rotundo's face into the mat before releasing the hammerlock and stomping on Rotundo. DiBiase dropped an elbow before Rotundo rolled onto his back and DiBiase raised a fist and dropped a fist onto Rotundo, making the cover: 1...2...kickout! Rotundo is not about to give up just yet. Wahoo tried to cheer on Rotundo from outside the ring as DiBiase continued his advantage. It was short-lived as the crowd got into it and got Rotundo firing back into the chest and gut of DiBiase! Rotundo tried to lift DiBiase into the Airplane Spin but DiBiase caught Rotundo with a knee to the gut. The Million Dollar Man hit a knee lift and then a body slam. He dropped a fist and made the cover, placing his feet on the ropes for leverage: 1...2...3! DiBiase picks up the win by cheating! Stu Schwartz is the referee for this bout. Dick Slater came out to boos from the crowd, sliding inside the ring and playing to the boos before the bell sounded. Steamboat got good cheers from the crowd as he stared across at the same man who beat him at Starrcade. They locked up and Steamboat sent Slater flying with an arm drag. Slater came running back and Steamboat hit a hip toss! Slater popped back up and Steamboat ducked a clothesline, rolling up Slater for a quick two count. Steamboat kept the pace quickened for the first few minutes of the bout until he got caught in the corner by Slater. Slater then began his attack on Steamboat, giving him a backbreaker and gutbuster, an elbow drop and more as Steamboat was in trouble during the middle of the bout. Slater used a reverse chinlock to keep Steamboat grounded on the mat while the crowd tried to get him back into it. Referee Stu Schwartz grabbed Steamboat's hand and raised it once...it fell. He raised it twice...it fell. He raised it a third time...it....stayed up! The crowd began cheering and clapping, getting behind Steamboat as Steamboat was slowly getting to a vertical base. He slammed an elbow into Slater's gut, then another. A third one broke the hold. Steamboat ducked a straight-arm clothesline and dropped Slater with a neckbreaker! Steamboat walked over to the corner and went outside, climbing to the top. He signalled for the crowd as they cheered and Slater began getting to his feet. Steamboat flew through the air with that Cross Body Block, catching Slater in the middle of the ring! The 3-count was academic and Steamboat earned back a win over Dick Slater! The crowd rose to their feet, some people doing the standing bowing while others just cheering as Ric Flair came out from the back wearing that blue sequined robe over his trunks. He released a 'whooo' echoed by the Charlotte crowd as he walked toward the ring and slid inside, taking the microphone from the ring announcer. Ric Flair: "Ladies and gentlemen we are in Charlotte, whooo North Carolina tonight. My hometown. Jake the Snake, the time for talking is over. Jake slithered in under the bottom rope and moved to the corner, sitting there staring across at Flair while handing the NWA World Title to Randy Anderson, the referee assigned to this bout. Anderson held up the belt, showing it to the crowd, Flair and Roberts before setting it outside the ring and calling for the bell. Jake pulled to his feet and began circling Flair as both men settled in for what would be a very long bout indeed. The first ten minutes was mostly spent grandstanding by both athletes, avoiding tie ups and Flair doing a little strutting to the crowd cheers for it. Jake did a lot of sliding outside the ring. Bob Caudle and Gordon Solie noted that Jake did not have his snake bag out this evening. Back inside the ring, Flair started out strong, focusing on the knee of Jake the Snake Roberts as most would expect and the crowd cheered for every move. Flair controlled the next ten minutes with strong wrestling holds before Jake used a rake of the eyes and began using some cheating moves to gain the advantage for the next ten minutes. Roberts raked Flair's eyes and drug Flair's eyes across the top rope, using his good in-ring psychology to keep Flair on the defensive and himself on the offensive. Late in the bout, Roberts tried for a DDT on Flair but Flair grabbed the top rope and Roberts snapped his own head back on the mat! The crowd cheered for Flair as the Nature Boy used the ropes to keep himself standing. Roberts managed to move toward his feet and Flair pulled him into the corner, unleashing chop after chop on Roberts' chest, reddening that chest of the Snake! Flair rolled out of the ring and tripped Roberts, pulling him so that the metal post was between his legs! He brought that already hurt left knee of Roberts out and then slammed it into the ringpost! Roberts cried out in pain! Flair rolled back inside the ring and grabbed Roberts but Jake raked the eyes before sliding out of the ring under his belly. He walked back as Flair tried to clear his eyesight and Randy Anderson counted him out. Anderson reached the ten count and called for the bell. Flair gets the win but NOT the belt here! Ric Flair defeated Jake Roberts in 40:07 by count out. Road Agent NOTES: Referee=Randy Anderson...The Flair/Roberts storyline has continued with this match. Then Jake came out from the back to boos from the crowd, holding a giant snake in his hands! He went out to the ring and Flair and Randy Anderson took the high road and Jake Roberts set the snake down on the mat between his legs, holding up the NWA World Title belt and that is the image we are left with for the end of the year!
Good job looks like you and the MACW really cleaned up on the end of the year awards! Dory and Dick huh? Hmm. How do you stand comparatively in regards to prestige with the WWF?
I was hoping for more awards but I can't be too greedy right? I am hoping that next year I get promotion of the year, though. As far as taking a peek and seeing exactly where I stand with the WWF, I am at 73.0% and they are at 80.0%. So we're close in there together. It will be interesting to see if Dory and Dick decide they want to jump ship considering WWF hasn't risen in months and we are slowly but surely jumping percentage points to catch up with the WWF, especially with the help of these two tv shows.

There's nothing wrong with being greedy, nothing at all! :D If you don't mind me asking, what are their positions on the roster? (ME, UMC, etc.) Sometimes I have bumped a guy up a little and they decided to stay. Then again, I've had them leave while being a ME and be assigned a MC position inthe WWF! lol If they leave would it drastically alter your current 'plan' ?

Then again, I've had them leave while being a ME and be assigned a MC position inthe WWF! lol If they leave would it drastically alter your current 'plan' ?
They are both Upper Midcarders right now but a part of me is hoping they move on to the WWF and clear up some room. Right now, my roster is kind of bloated so they may end up being casualties anyway. Though I do need to finish the Terry Funk/Dory Funk Jr. feud. Terry is already leaving, though. :-( He wanted way too much money.
So long as all the "keepers" are locked in, all's fair. :) Good showing in the awards there, I predict an even better one next time. The roster's settling in nicely now. Slick Ric outsmarted by the Snake? Say it aint so! :p
There's definitely guys I'd really, really hate to lose. Guys like Flair, Roberts, Rhodes, Sullivan, etc. Those would definitely be my keepers. Thanks for reading too and don't worry The Dirtiest Player In The Game still has a few tricks up his sleeve.
