Thomas was a shocking pick from Davis Newton last month, but Shaffer had some time to prepare for him this week and it showed. Shaffer used his fast pace offense to catch Thomas off guard, and he was hitting a lot of low impact moves trying to swat Shaffer’s stinging offense away from him. Thomas went for a powerbomb at one point, but Shaffer reversed it into a DDT on the way down, then headed up top, where he hit the Guillotine Legdrop for the victory. Winner: Trent Shaffer Match Time: 8:36 Match Rating: D+ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mainstream Hernandez vs. Davis Newton Davis Newton didn’t participate in the last match, because “He had bigger fish to fry”. So the other half of the Canucks came out alone to face one of the biggest fan favorites in MAW history, Mainstream Hernandez. This match was back and forth for the majority of it, until Newton clipped Hernandez with a chop block. He then went to work on Mainstream, trying to keep him from the deadly Shooting Star Press. Davis then set up for his Fisherman’s Suplex, but Hernandez slipped out, then nailed his other devastating finisher, the Superkick, and the Canucks were officially 0-2 for the night. Winner: Mainstream Hernandez Match Time: 11:07 Match Rating: C ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Bobby Thomas comes out to the ring and the Canucks stand stunned because neither man was able to pull out a victory. Then the music of Nicole Kiss hits the PA system, and Rip Chord’s personal assistant headed out to the ring with microphone in hand. Nicole Kiss Hey boys, rough night huh? Well, next month isn’t going to get any better. Because there is going to be a tag team match next month. It won’t be for the titles, but you will be facing Aerial Assault in this very ring. And here’s the catch, if they pull out a victory against you next month, the following month they get their tag team championship rematch! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Des Davids vs. Steven Parker The fans were on their feet anticipating this huge rematch after the half-hour classic last month. This match started where the last one left off with Davids pushing Parker around at the beginning of the match, with Parker side stepping an attempt at the Quarterback Sack, narrowly avoiding a quick finish. Parker then went on the offensive with his dominant technical style, one that Davids couldn’t keep up with. Parker then said it was over, and he hoisted Davids up on his shoulder for the Future Shock, but Davids got in an elbow, leaving the former champ on spaghetti legs. Davids then bounced off the ropes and nailed the Quarterback Sack, ending the match so quickly that if you blinked then you would have missed the finish. Winner: Des Davids Match Time: 12:49 Match Rating: C- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Mean Machine makes his way out to the ring, title around waist, microphone in hand, ready for his huge title defense against the highly unique Fox Mask. The Mean Machine Last week that ingrate Fox Mask snuck up behind me and hit me with his finisher. All he accomplished to do was tick off the Machine, and that’s something you don’t want to do. Tonight I’m gonna rip off that mask and beat you with it Fox! So get out here and take the beating you so rightly deserve. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mid Atlantic Championship The Mean Machine vs. Fox Mask Fox Mask came out to a huge ovation from the sellout Stanley Hall crowd, and they were one hundred percent behind him as he lashed into Machine with a series of slap kicks to start the match off. He bounced off the ropes and nailed Machine from every possible angle, confusing Machine more than advanced physics. Machine looked like this was a blindfold match as he was swinging wildly, but Fox Mask was running around like crazy hitting Machine when he least expected it. He took Machine down with a DDT, then went up top for a frog splash, but Machine got his knees up, then he took control. Now that Fox was stationary Machine literally ripped him apart, then spiked him to the mat with the Mood Swing, and another successful title defense was in the book. Winner: The Mean Machine Match Time: 10:41 Match Rating: C ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Mean Machine grabbed his championship and raised it high in the ring. He then exited as Fox Mask started to get up, and Machine backed down the entrance way taunting Fox Mask in the ring. Then all of a sudden Machine stopped like he hit a brick wall. He slowly turned around, to see that Des Davids was standing behind him arms crossed, smiling. He then pointed to Machine, then his championship, saying that he was coming for it. He then flinched forward, causing Machine to fall back onto his backside, leaving Davids standing over him laughing at the mind control he already has over the champion. Well guys, I've felt this one coming for a couple of shows now. I'm starting to get burned out really badly on ole' MAW. With the limitations that were put on me it really cuts down on who I can bring in, and things just seem like they are in a big rut in terms of my roster. I'm also having alot of trouble keeping interest in the style of show that MAW is expected to run. I'm more of a sports entertainement kind of person, and storylines are where my writing is the strongest, and I can't really put that across with MAW. It has been a good two month run, and it's the first time I've ever played more than two weeks of a CornellVerse game, so that's progress. Plus, I'm really getting into my WWF dynasty, it just suits my type of writing much, much, more, so check that out if you have time because I'm going to have that one up and running for a long time to see how a DOTT game pans out over a long span of time. So thanks to everybody for reading and leaving as much feedback as you did, and I'll continue to read all your dynasties, and hope that you read anything that comes out from me.
