The Invasion. What Should Have Been

There are few things that you can get everyone to agree on. People like different movies, different colors, different tv shows. However, there is one thing that wrestling 'experts' and casual fans alike can agree on: the Invasion was a dismal failure. Without securing the contracts of the more popular superstars like Kevin Nash, Hollywood Hogan, Bill Goldberg and Sting, Vince McMahon resigned the fate of the Invasion to second-tier guys and worse. But what if that didn't happen? What if Vince McMahon signed several of the superstars that really made WCW stick? What if he signed guys like Bill Goldberg, Kevin Nash and even brought Scott Hall back from Japan? How would the Invasion have truly turned out? Would WCW have reigned supreme over the WWF? Or would the World Wrestling Federation still crushed the WCW invaders? Would ECW have even been brought back at that point? Then a third and he finally releases and Angle is left laying! Matt Hardy defeated Edge in 9:15 by pinfall with a Twist Of Fate.[/I] [SIZE=5]Road Agent NOTES:[/SIZE] Matt Hardy makes defence number 1 of his WWF European title. Referee=Mickey Jaye...Matt Hardy is improving in Performance skills. X-Pac and Spike traded high risk moves in the ring. But the real interesting part of this match came when Lance Storm and Mike Awesome came out of the crowd after Spike hit the Dudley Dog on X-Pac! They attacked Spike and Mike Awesome hit the Awesome Bomb in the center of the ring. Spike Dudley defeated X-Pac in 7:33 when X-Pac was disqualified when Mike Awesome ran in and attacked Spike Dudley.[/I] [SIZE=5]Road Agent NOTES:[/SIZE] During the match we also had Lance Storm run in and attack Spike. Referee=Mickey Jaye...The colour commentary gave the match a boost. Spike Dudley is improving in Technical skills...=C+ [I]Following the Awesome Bomb, out came the Dudleys running right out to the ring! He delivered some brutal shots to Jericho with a street sign and a chair and other things but Jericho kept kicking out. Jericho fought back and started to turn Rhyno into the Walls of Jericho but he got punched from behind by William Regal! Jericho got distracted enough by Regal that when he turned his attention back to Rhyno he got nailed with the GORE and Rhyno picked up the pinfall. Rhyno defeated Chris Jericho in 9:39 by pinfall with a Gore, Gore, Gore.[/I] [SIZE=5]Road Agent NOTES:[/SIZE] During the match we also had William Regal run in and attack Jericho. Rhyno makes defence number 1 of his WWF Hardcore title. Referee=Jim Korderas...This match lifted the crowd. Rhyno is improving in Performance skills. You see earlier one of my wrestlers, Spike Dudley, the runt of the locker room but still part of the WWF locker room, was assaulted by two members of my son's WCW contingent. A two on one pearl harbor job done by two members of a dead organization. Normally I wouldn't see this as a threat but..."[/COLOR] =B [I]"Here Comes The Money! Money Talks! Here Comes The Money!" Shane O Mac's music begins to play and out he walks, doing a little shimmy at the top of the rampway, looking pleased as punch.[/I] [B]Shane McMahon:[/B] [COLOR=BLUE]"But what, Dad? But it's the man who beat you at Wrestlemania Seventeen? The owner of WCW is a man who can outsmart you? I can't compete with your checkbook, Dad, but I CAN outsmart you. He leaps the railing and slides inside the ring behind Vince McMahon.[/I] [B]Shane McMahon:[/B] [COLOR=BLUE]"Dad, dad, you might want to turn around. Maybe then you can see just how dead this company is."[/COLOR] [I]Vince does his famous gulp and slowly turns, getting kicked in the gut! Booker T bounces off the ropes and lands a scissors kick on the Chairman of the WWF! The APA defeated The Hollys in 6:41 when Bradshaw defeated Hardcore Holly by pinfall with a Clothesline From Hell.[/I] [SIZE=5]Road Agent NOTES:[/SIZE] Referee=Chad Patton...The announcing quality lifted the match. The colour commentary gave the match a boost. The Acolytes/Team Canada storyline has continued with this match. Crash Holly is improving in Performance skills. Trips slid inside the ring and Test stomped on him immediately to get that sledgehammer out of his hand. This was a fairly good match, showing the chemistry these two have in the ring. They fought outside the ring and as Triple H was about to Pedigree Test on the spanish announce table, he got clipped in the knee by.......Ric Flair! The Nature Boy chopped the chest of the Game and then stomped on Triple H's knee. Stephanie McMahon came running out and spoke to the official as a contingent of wrestlers came out to run Ric Flair off. It was announced that this is no longer a No DQ match and Triple H wins by DQ. Triple H defeated Test in 5:41 when Test was disqualified when Ric Flair ran in and attacked Triple H.[/I] [SIZE=5]Road Agent NOTES:[/SIZE] Referee=Billy Silverman...Test and Triple H have pretty good chemistry, and it lifted the match. The match suffered because of the lack of selling on display. This match lifted the crowd. Jim Ross announced that he will be on Jay Leno tonight and he was just informed that the Rock will be on Smackdown on Thursday! Eventually the underdog nailed Chyna with a Chick Kick and picked up the cover and earned herself a title shot at Judgement Day! Trish Stratus defeated Chyna in 5:31 by pinfall with a Chick Kick.[/I] [SIZE=5]Road Agent NOTES:[/SIZE] Referee=Teddy Long...The colour commentary gave the match a boost. His brother was hurt last night by Triple H and Stone Cold so he's walking into this one alone and with WCW still possibly lingering somewhere.[/I] =B+ [I]The two brawlers met inside the ring trading blows and basically trying to one-up each other. Referee Mike Chioda was assigned to this bout and was very liberal in not disqualifying either wrestler for some blatantly illegal moves because he wanted to see a decisive winner. The Undertaker started gaining the advantage late in the bout, much to Stone Cold's chagrin and UT began setting Austin up for the Last Ride when there was yet another disturbance in the crowd. The Undertaker released Stone Cold and turned to see... It's those dastardly Outsiders from WCW! Scott Hall hits the Undertaker as well with his own baseball bat! The Outsiders leave Austin alone for now, heading out of the ring, the damage done, leaving Mike Chioda with no choice but to call for the DQ. The Undertaker defeated Steve Austin in 11:59 when Steve Austin was disqualified when Scott Hall ran in and attacked The Undertaker.[/I] [SIZE=5]Road Agent NOTES:[/SIZE] During the match we also had Kevin Nash run in and attack The Undertaker. Referee=Mike Chioda...This match lifted the crowd. The Undertaker is improving in Technical skills. The Undertaker is improving in Performance skills...=A[/QUOTE] [QUOTE][I]Things weren't done inside the ring, though, as the cameras focused on Austin slowly getting to his feet. Then JR called that there's someone else inside the ring! Paul Heyman couldn't believe it! Austin slowly rose up and turned into a....SPEAR!!!! Austin is broken in half!
