The Cornellverse, before Tommy Cornell was even a star. The big news items of the time are Hollyweird Grappling Company's recent debut (yet to crown a champion), PGHW's rise in Japan, Phil Vibert's takeover of DAVE and NOTBPW's newly created women's division. BHOTWG have a legendary Junior division while SWF are still the biggest company in the world. The East Coast Wars are also in full swing as DAVE, RPW, PPPW and XFW compete to be the biggest promotion in the area. However our story starts 2 years earlier.. Trenton Evenrud thought he was a shrude businessman when the truth was he could barely tie his own shoe laces.. After his last company went up in flames (just weeks before a federal audit), Trenton had been in his motel room and seen SWF on TV, and suddenly he realised his new business venture. Lacking any kind of capital, he started working his way around the indepentant circuits looking for people willing to invest in his dream. He promised them the world, but little did they realise just what they were getting themselves into.. [CENTER][IMG]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/adambn/AMX/Evenrud.png[/IMG] [B][COLOR="DarkRed"]'Tempting Offers'[/COLOR][/B][/CENTER] The first that Trenton signed was 'The Archangel'. "Archangel" was a champion high school wrestler who earned his nickname for being so straightlaced it almost hurt. Instead of going to college, he took to the indy circuit. It was here that he met Devorah Triton, and the pair started dating. At AICW's last show before closing Trenton approached Archangel, with an offer to be part owner of a wrestling company, and have a say in what went on. The 17 year old thought he would have been a fool to decline and signed that day. Next on Trentons list was Joel Kovach. The 25 year old Kovach came from a wealthly background and had financed his own training and paid to travel to Japan where he spent a few years. This was an opportunity that Trenton couldn't pass up and promised Joel that he could very well wind up being the next Eric Eisen. But Kovach wasn't as easily swayed as Archangel was. Kovach spent a few weeks training with AMW, and it was the friendship he struck up with Archangel that made him sign some of his fortune to Trenton. Trenton's next mark was known by many as 'The Rev', Joshua "The Rev" Barris used to be a Lutheran Minister from Alabama before he discovered wrestling, and joined the Texas Wrestling League. Having almost hit the 40 mark, The Rev began to train youngsters, and one such youngster was Haim Tischler, known simply as "Sabbath". Trenton offered The Rev a place to train his youngsters and The Rev agreed, bringing his protege with him to AMW. Trenton's final 'partner' was Chris Gordon, a a cruiserweight who was floundering in the indy scene. With a promise of fame & fortune for a small investment, Gordon signed and Trenton had all the money he needed. Bashford, Rodger Dodger, Whisky Jack, & a young 'Big' Smack Scott), Trenton began to formulate a plan for AMW. He wanted to emulate the likes of SWF & CZCW, but just didn't have the knowledge. The shows did manage to have decent matches but the angles just fell flat, and it was only after being open for 6 months that he realised he needed a Championship Belt. In August 1996, The Rev was crowned the first AMW World Heavyweight Champion - a pretty hefty claim considering how small they were - after a gruelling match against Joel Kovach. But what Trenton wanted was a TV show. It was something that all the other companies seem to have and he set his sights towards it.. He threw money away in fruitless attempts to get signed by the likes of America Sports-1 & CBA, often asking his locker room to work for no wages. Only Trenton's 'Partners' ever took up this offer, meaning the bank balance was rapidly dropping. After months of trying -and neglecting the shows- Trenton finally secured a deal with C.A.N.N for a 1 hour show shown at midnight on fridays. Awesome To The Max was born. [B][CENTER][IMG]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/adambn/AMX/Archangel.png[/IMG] [COLOR="DarkRed"]'Archangels Coup d'état'[/COLOR][/CENTER][/B]It had been a somewhat good 2 years for Archangel & Devorah. The pair were now madly in love, and looking to get a house together. That was if they could ever get enough money. Every time they saw Trenton, they saw him throwing [U]their[/U] money around in increasingly desperate schemes. Archangel had tried on several occasions to try quell Trenton's spending, but everytime he was frowned upon and told that he wasn't the businessman, and to let Trenton handle the money. Finally Archangel exploded. He stormed into Trenton's 'office' and demanded that his assets be liquidated so he could leave AMW, but apparently Trenton had the contracts tied so tight, that Archangel would only be able to leave with Trenton's permisson. Archangel stormed out, and started consulting with a lawyer. The next few months, Archangel and the lawyer tried numerous ways to get Archangel's contracts ended, but finally in December 2006, there was a break through. While there seemed no way for Archangel to be involved in the financial side of AMW, he was still allowed to be involved in the direction the company took. With a smile on his face he stormed back into Trenton's 'office' and told him that his days of booking the shows were over and that he was taking charge. [I]'What do you know about booking a television show'[/I] Trenton proclaimed. [I]'I dont'[/I] Archangel replied. [I]'But i have just hired a man that does'[/I] [B]Its now 1997. [B]Rating:[/B] F+ After the match, a video airs highlighting the fact that Scott Smack won a #1 contenders match last week, and that he would be facing The Rev for the AMW World Heavyweight Championship tonight.. The cameramen frantically try pan around to see his face. Its Jungle Jack [B]Rating:[/B] F+ Jungle Jack puts the boot into Archangel a few more times, before leaving the ring and heading towards Whiskey. Archangel staggers to his feet and grabs a microphone: [B]Archangel:[/B] [I]"Eugh.. You want a match. You got it"[/I] [B]Rating:[/B] D+ Whisky Jack laughs: [B]W Jack:[/B] [I]"Oh no no no.. That would be too easy wouldn't it. He has become one of two wrestlers im growing to dislike (both of which get the F+'s). But regardless of opinion, The Rev is there at Sabbaths side tonight. A quick match won by Sabbath with a Day of Rest. [B]Rating:[/B] F+ The match is over, and Sabbath and The Rev celebrate together in the ring for the fans, lighting there usual victory cigar. [B]Rating:[/B] D Archangel cuts an interview in which he laughs off the threats of both the Jacks. He proclaimed that tonight he would beat Jungle Jack in the ring and send him packing back to New York. Joel Kovach however remains about the same level wise but im not so worried. Bashford looked like he could get a lucky win at several points in the match but in the end it was Kovach with the Kovach Krippler. [B]Rating:[/B] E+ Whisky Jack cuts an interview just before his match and lets it be known that Archangel is going down tonight after Jungle Jack runs riot over him (I think he might have stolen that from somewhere). Jungle Jack started off with the advantage but Archangel finally turned the tide and looked set for the win. That is until Whisky Jack ran in and hit his Face First Suplex. Jungle Jack then covered Archangel for the win. [B]Rating:[/B] D- After the match, Jungle & Whisky Jack continue beating down Archangel in the ring. Devorah Triton comes in and tries to reason with Jungle Jack to get him to stop. He simply attacks her too, laying her out in one quick violent attack. He is looking rather concerned as he turns the corner out of sight. [B]Rating:[/B] D After the backstage video we find Smack Scott in the ring. He tells everyone that he wants back in the title fight and not trying to secure contendership rights over Joel Kovach. Scott carries on and announces himself as the biggest thing in AMW ('Im [B][U]BIG[/U][/B] Smack Scott' he proclaimed), and he will prove it to everyone. The crowd wait expecting the usual surprise wrestler appearing when suddenly a gunshot is heard. The lights come back on and The Rev is lying in the ring bleeding. Whoever shot him is nowhere to be found. C.A.N.N have finally decided enough was enough and pulled the plug on the ailing show. However questions remain about who shot The Rev. Tonight 'Big' Smack Scott announced that he was going to prove he was the biggest thing in AMW. Could he have taken out the guy up top to prove his point? Or maybe Whisky Jack who from the looks of Jungle Jack's face was expected to appear during the match with Archangel, but was suspiciously absent? Then again, Trenton Evenrud hasn't been seen on TV for a few weeks. Maybe this is all part of a new 'get rich quick' scheme? Find out when AMW goes on the road... [B]Rating:[/B] E At the announcers booth, the announcer explains that the next match is the first semi final to determine the new AMW World Heavyweight Champion, and that each man has already taken down 1 challenger. The announcer then says that the winner will face the winner of tonights other semi final next month for the title. He tells the audience that next month, we will see Fox Mask in action for the first time, but today marks Rolling Johnny Stones first AMW match up. [B]Rating:[/B] F+ Rolling Johnny Stones takes the opportunity to come out from backstage. He thanks Evenrud for the introduction, and says that he is very confident that he will get the win in his upcoming match against Edwin D. Bashford next. [B]Rating:[/B] D+ The announcer hypes the upcoming match between Archangel and Joel Kovach, stating that its the second semi final of the night and that the winner would have a chance at the AMW World Heavyweight Championship next month. However, im not giving up that match just yet. Joel Kovach charges straight into Archangel taking him down to the mat outside. He heavy hands him while the ref starts counting. At the 6 count, Kovach grabs Archangel and slams him headfirst into the steel steps. The ref reaches the 8 count, and Archangel's head meets the steps again. Its 9 and Kovach puts a sly boot into the groin of Archangel and slides back into the ring. Seconds after Kovach is back in, the ref reaches 10 and Kovach wins by count out. [B]Rating:[/B] E The cameras return to the announcer's podium, where the announcer is up in arms at the actions of Joel Kovach. He slates the referee's attempts at bringing them back inside the ring and claims Kovach should have been disqualified for the groin shot.. Real unbiased stuff you see. Archangel was handed an arrest warrant for Evenrud and told to vacate the premises so it could be searched. After a long search, Archangel was then informed that as of now AMW has shutdown due to tax fraud. The feds alleged that Evenrud failed to file income tax returns from 1994 to 1996 and conspired with two friends of his to file two amended returns for himself for 1996 and 1997, fraudulently claiming tax refunds of almost $1 million. Archangel & Devorah were then taken to the station for questioning, but were later cleared of any involvement. [B]The Future:[/B] 2 years after the closure of AMW, Archangel & Devorah were together and back working the indy circuits, building a reputation as a reliable worker. It was that reputation that Joe Sexy liked and recommended him to fill the ranks of SWF in 2005, alongside former AMW workers Sabbath, The Rev, Joel Kovach & Chris Gordon. Archangel impressed the head booker and got a few high profile feuds leading up his massive feud with Joel Kovach which captivated SWF fans the world over. For The Rev, life threw him a curveball, when his protege Sabbath was killed in a car crash. This event prompted him to leave SWF and go soul searching. He returned to wrestling in 2009 for MWA and was soon joined by Izaak Tischler, Sabbath's baby brother. Chris Gordon remained at SWF until mid 2008 when he was released due to the booking team having nothing for him. His time at SWF was spent mainly jobbing. The feds never found Trenton Evenrud, and the survivors of AMW never heard from him again. Its unknown whether he escaped the country and is even now hustling youngsters out of their money, or if somehow he met his just deserves [B]The End...[/B][/FONT] [QUOTE][FONT="Tahoma"][B]O.o.c..[/B] The money ran out.. and AMW folded. Due to some hiccups on my end right at the beginning (like not having enough workers to look like a proper promotion, or a ref) the popularity of AMW fell.. Add to the fact that i had to pay $6000 a month in lifetime contracts and a weekly TV show and i just couldn't keep the ship floating.. But hey.. It was fun [B]Storylines:[/B] The Rev was due to come back really soon, and announce that he knew who shot him.. It was Sabbath.. Sabbath had grown fed up of The Rev constantly trying to get into his spotlight, and took his mentor out. This was going to lead to them feuding which i had checked in a dark match and would have brought in D-'s easy. Devorah's storyline was going to become one where she was stalked by someone. It was gonna end with her turning on Archangel so he could become more focused and broody.
