Round Up of the Other Promotions Japan JCWA - the only cult promotion that does not have a TV deal in place, they only put on one big show in January, which rated a B-. Yoshimi Mushashibo won their World Title in a four way match, Kozue Kawashima picked up the TV Title, the tag titles remain vacant, while Hoshino v Inukai was the best match, rated B. SCW - probably the second best rated promotion behind KEY through January, putting on a mix of B-/C+ shows. Hiraoki Nakasawa remains Supreme Champion, Raymond Diaz kept the Junior Title, Sanda and Hamacho are the tag champs, while Golden Scorpion is the new low level title holder. Nakasawa defeating Horri was their best match, rated B. Mexico SW - they have two TV shows, and were very consistent with every show rating C+. Pablo Rodriguez is the new Global champ, Sam Keith (who owns the promotion) became the Top Contender winner, while El Demonico and Electrico are the tag champs. Lots of B- matches are their best. United Kingdom BLW - a varied performance from them, rating from D to C, thanks to only using Tommy Cornell in 2 of their 5 shows (funnily enough the two best ones!) All the UK/Europe promotions are struggling with ratings due to lack of overness of the stars in that area. Danny Patterson is their main champion, while Runaway Train is the TV champ, defeating Lead Belly in week 2. Team Toronto (Bennett and Robinson) are the tag champs. Best match was (unsurprisingly) Cornell over Patterson, rating B-. TEWF - they are REALLY struggling, with their best show rated only a D. Will probably drop to regional in about 3-4 months at this rate. Dark Angel is the champion. The Extreme title has been passed around twice - Mainstream Hernandez vacated the belt the was set on him by default in week 1, seemingly for no reason, with Brent Hill winning it, before losing to Brilliant White the following week. The Future (Parker and Deeley) remain tag champs. Two C- matches are their best, both involving Dark Angel. Europe GC - steady ratings of C-. Byron is the champion, defeating the likes of Buddy Garner on a regular basis. Arjen van der Leyne holds the secondary title, while Lister and Cole (formerly known as Toby Juan Kanobi and Jed High) are tag champs, but haven't defended their title yet. C is the best match rating, usually involving Garner. Canada NLWF - C/C+ ratings. Ryan Powell is the new world champion, while Ed Monton holds the TV Title. Omar Brown and Liberty are the somewhat surprising tag champs. Jack DeColt v Johnny Bloodstone was the best match, at B-. T-Pro - all C+ ratings, as Sean McFly dominates as champion. Edd Stone is the Juniorweight champ, taking the title off Kazuma Narato, Canadian Dragon is the new low level holder having beaten Zeshin Makioka, while Remmy Skye and Joey Poison lost the tag belts to Black Hat Bailey and Danny B Bling. McFly dragged RK Hayes to the best match - a B+ affair. USA FLWA - all C+ cards as well, Steve Frehley being the champ. Dan Stone Jr (as stated before) is the TV champ, while Raul Hughes and Teddy Powell are tag champs, calling themselves the Disposable Heroes! Lots of B- matches taking place. IOW - a mixed bag from them, ratings from C- to C+. Enygma is their champ, while the impressive pair of Robbie Retro (initially) and Peter Valentine (currently) have held the National (singles) title briefly. There are no tag champs yet. Best match is Bryan Vessey over Enygma - a B. UWF - mostly C+ cards, Jack Bruce is still the United Title holder, Morpheus still holds the TV Title, and Gumble and Allen are tag champs. No changes at all then! Several B- matches are their best. ALL Wrestle - suprisingly poor ratings, usually C-. I guess Samoans and lucha wrestling don't mix too well! They still don't have a main champ (although Wolf Hawkins does actually win it in the 1st week of Feb), Flying Jimmy Foxx is the Top Rope champ, Rhino Umaga and Samoan Machine (working under their real names) are new tag champs, and the 3 man champinoship is vacant. Best match was a C+ between Wolf Hawkins and Harry Allen. CWW and CWWF open at the end of January. Duane Stone, Brent Hill and Randy Bumfhole return to TEWF, and three new trades are completed, this time with NLWF. I receive Johnny Bloodstone, Art Reed and Human Arsenal for three appearances each.

KEY Total Wrestling, Tues Week 1 Feb 2007 McGaw Arena, Tri State, Attendance 5000 (Sold Out!) Match 1: v Akinori Kwakami v Johnny Bloodstone The visitor from NLWF isn’t particularly well known in USA and neither is Kwakami (yet!), and so this match, although good, doesn’t generate a lot of fan interest. Kwakami wins with his Kwakami Painlock. Winner: Akinori Kwakami Rating C+ ****** Jessie is interviewing Steven Parker, who is still angry at how his match at Waterloo turned out. “How can it be fair that a tag team is allowed to compete in a singles match? If it was a fair match on Friday, I would clearly have won.” Jessie replies, “Well tonight, Steven, you go up against Super Joshuya and Insane Machine again in a four way singles match, but this time, you have some back up, in the shape of your former MAW colleague, Mean Jean Cattley.” “Well that’s all very well, Jessie – but can the Future trust the Mean Machine?” Rating D- ****** Match 2: v v Insane Machine v Steven Parker v Super Joshuya v Mean Jean Cattley Another good lower card match here, as the four men put on a show. Cattley and Parker show that they can work together as they battle the two members of Super Crazy. Parker looks especially dangerous, and he sets Insane Machine up for a splash from the top rope. However, as he plays to the crowd, Mean Jean slides into the ring behind Parker’s back and pins Machine before Parker notices, handing the c0cky youngster another defeat by default! Cattley quickly leaves, smiling, as Parker fumes at the result in the ring. Winner: Mean Jean Cattley Rating C+ ****** Out come The Extreme, with their manager, Jessie. She tells the New Wave that they only retained their titles at Waterloo because of their cowardly pre-match attack on Big Cat. The New Wave appear through the curtain, and they tell the Extreme that it wasn’t that at all – it was purely that they are better than them, and that if Big Cat has a problem with that, then Scout would be happy to face him one on one tonight. Big Cat immediately agrees, despite Jessie and Chris Caulfield trying to talk him out of the match, telling him that he is still not fit to wrestle. Rating B- ****** Match 3: v Scout v Big Cat Brandon Wow, didn’t see this one coming. Having been somewhat disappointed in Big Cat over the past few weeks, he and Scout deliver in style tonight. Brandon sells the fact that he is still not at 100% very well, and Scout uses every underhanded trick in the book to ensure that Big Cat doesn’t win. The finish sees Big Cat attempt a Big Cat Pounce on the outside, which Scout avoids, causing Brandon to stun himself against the ring post. Scout rolls him back inside the ring and locks in the Special Force. Match over! Winner: Scout Rating A ****** As the medics help Big Cat Brandon to the back, Scout grabs a mic and tells Big Cat that he has now defeated him twice in a week, and that he really should fight someone in his own league next time. Brandon tries to go back to the ring to confront Scout but is stopped by the arena staff. Rating B- ****** Match 4: v v Guide v Chris Caulfield v Natsu Miyamae v Nobuatsu Tatsuko This match is a fatal four way featuring one member of each of the four tag teams who brawled at the end of the tag title match at Waterloo. It is a good solid match, with Guide and Miyamae working well together to control most of the match. Caulfield though manages to take Miyamae outside to fight there, leaving Tatsuko to pick up a slightly fortuitous victory as he plants Guide with the Tatsuko Driller. Winner: Nobuatsu Tatsuko Rating B- ****** Jason, Ana and Rob mention to the audience that Tatsuko will face off, one on one, with Miyamae next week, as the war between the Japanese teams hots up. Rating C ****** Liberty comes to the ring for his match and addresses the crowd, telling them how much he is enjoying life now that he has stopped his losing streak, and that it is all down to the relaxing powers of…. He stops just in time, remembering that confessing to smoking illegal substances on national TV is not the cleverest thing he could do! Rating B ****** Match 5: v Liberty v JD Morgan The announcers remark that despite Liberty having won his last match, neither man has exactly impressed the crowd with lots of victories. Liberty is more popular, he can talk better and therefore gets the win here, with the Liberation Slam. Unfortunately not even JD can make this match look good. Winner: Liberty Rating C+ ****** As Liberty celebrates, JD Morgan snaps and nails him from behind, before stomping away at the former TCW man. Suddenly, Art Reed appears from the crowd and dives into the ring, chasing his former DAVE colleague away. Rating C ****** Art takes the mic, and tells the crowd that he came to KEY tonight to witness real wrestling, not people being attacked from behind. He says that while he is here, he fancies a match and not any old match, he wants a United States Title match, right now, against Squeeky McClean. Squeeky comes out ready for action and tells him that he is on! Rating C ****** Match 6: v Art Reed v Squeeky McClean (for the United States Title) Well apparently these two don’t click, but you would never have known. Both men gave it their all here, and although I think everyone knew that the result was never really in doubt, Art made them believe it was possible, and nearly caused the upset on several occasions. Eventually, once again, Runaway Train hit the ring, and took out Art while Squeeky distracted the referee, and then Squeeky hit the Stain Remover for the win. Winner: Squeeky McClean Rating B+ Notes: An excellent match especially without them clicking. ****** Train continued to assault Art Reed, until Jeremy Stone came to ringside and chased the monster off. Rating B- ****** Jeremy tells Train that he is fed up with him interfering in matches, having cost Jeremy the US Title in each of the last 2 weeks, and also Art tonight. So, he says, next week, Train will have to face him, Jeremy Stone, fair and square, inside the squared circle. Rating B ****** Angry Gilmore knocks on an office door backstage. It is Nobu Tatsuko’s office. Tatsuko tells Angry that he summoned him here now so that Angry can choose his opponent next week to defend the World Title against. The only stipulation that it must be a worthy contender. Angry thinks for a second, and then selects Liberty as his next challenger. Tatsuko agrees to this match up. Rating B+ ****** Oh here we go again – stupid booker syndrome. Ana Garcia is supposed to be interviewing Chris Rockwell about his match against Human Arsenal tonight, but for some reason, Chris Caulfield has come to the interview area. Not good. Having traded for Arsenal, I didn’t look to see if he was actually fit – which he isn’t, suffering from Chronic Shoulder Pain. This seemed to affect his performance a little, but it was still a very good match, as Rockwell was determined to prove that he could beat both of the Wrestling Machines inside the last month. (which he was going to talk about in the previous segment as well) Chris did indeed pick up yet another win, remaining unbeaten in KEY, with the Rock Down. Winner: Chris Rockwell Rating B+ ****** And further stupidity from me – Human Arsenal goes backstage and shakes Chris Caulfield’s hand – it’s supposed to have been the Rock’s hand you idiot! Rating C OVERALL RATING = B TV Rating = 2.74

So, I'm still suffering from "Stupid Booker's Syndrome" as you can see near the end of that last show, and that's the good news from this week! Negotiations with the TV networks have not gone well, with everyone refusing to put us on their network for next season, citing that either our product doesn't fit with their network's ideals, or that I've already got a TV show running. Even the POP network, who currently show Total Wrestling won't renew that contract! Bit of thought required to figure out what we're going to do for the next 3 months (at least) then. Anyway - on with the next show - which comes from the Great Lakes for once (instead of the McGaw Arena in the Tri State) ****** KEY Total Wrestling, Tues Week 2 Feb 2007 at Shakeshaft Auditorium, Great Lakes. Attendance 4198 Jason, Ana and Rob welcome everyone to the show and remind everyone that tonight’s main event is the World Title matchup between Angry Gilmore and Liberty. Rating B- ****** Match 1: v Mean Jean Cattley v Insane Machine Mean Jean pinned Insane Machine in last week’s four-way match, even though it was Steven Parker who had done most of the damage to the masked man. This week they go one on one, and once again it is Cattley who picks up the win in an excellent match, showing that he doesn’t need to cheat and steal victories, when he is talented enough to do the job cleanly. Winner: Mean Jean Cattley Rating B+ ****** Mean Jean grabs a microphone and tells Steven Parker that that is how you win matches, by using your brains and concentrating hard, and that he is going to stay and commentate on the next match to see if Steven can do the business for once. Rating E+ ****** Before Cattley takes over from Rob at the announce booth, Jason, Ana and Rob quickly go through some of the history that has lead to the match later tonight between Runaway Train and Jeremy Stone, including how Train cost Jeremy two US Title matches with his interference. Rating C+ ****** Match 2: v Steven Parker v Super Joshuya Parker comes out and confronts Mean Jean at the announce table before the match, telling him to mind his own business and reminding Cattley that HE is the more recent MAW champion, not Cattley. The match starts and it is all action. They are very evenly matched, although whenever Parker gets control, he spends more time arguing with Cattley at the announce table than actually wrestling. The proves to be his undoing, as after yet another confrontation, Super Joshuya seizes his chance and quickly rolls Parker up for the three count. Parker is absolutely furious, and this is not helped by Cattley laughing uncontrollably at the desk. Winner: Super Joshuya Rating B ****** Meanwhile, Rob has caught up with the tag champions, the New Wave, and asks them for their thoughts on tonight’s four-way match that Scout is part of. “Our thoughts? Very simple. I will win, and it will be three consecutive weeks that I will then have defeated Big Cat Brandon. Maybe then, the Extreme will get the message that is staring them in the face - that the New Wave are just too good for them!” Rating B- ****** Match 3: v v Big Cat Brandon v Scout v Akinori Kwakami v Ken Shimedzu Another four-way match involving our main tag teams tonight, as the four men who didn’t match up last week do battle tonight. Everyone is really delivering tonight as the four men put on an excellent match. Scout and Shimedzu, although supposedly fighting against each other in this singles match, team up to attack Big Cat and Kwakami, and soon it turns into two running battles, with Scout and Big Cat renewing their hostilities, while Kwakami and Shimedzu battle each other. As with their match last week, Scout gains the upper hand on Big Cat, who is still clearly not back to 100%, and with the big man down, he launches himself over the ropes onto the two Japanese stars with a dangerous dive, knocking them both to the floor. With the two of them incapacitated, Scout returns to the ring and finishes Big Cat off for the third show running now, as he promised, with the Special Force. Winner: Scout Rating A ****** We cut backstage to where Jeremy Stone is with his manager, Jessie, who talks about her client’s upcoming match with Runaway Train, telling Train that Jeremy did not set up KEY for people to cheat and steal victories, but to earn them fairly in the ring, and that Jeremy is going to take Train to school in their match tonight. Rating B- ****** Match 4: v JD Morgan v Art Reed These two men have both had chances on recent weeks to challenge for the United States title, but both have come up short. Tonight, they resume their rivalry from DAVE. Both men are good solid technical wrestlers and the match is a clinic of holds and counters. Eventually the better man proves to be JD Morgan, who finishes things with the Cross Atlantic Stretch, to pick up his first victory here in KEY. Winner: JD Morgan Rating B+ Notes: I left the winner of this match up to the road agents. ****** Runaway Train comes to the ring for his match and is accompanied by the Guru, who tells Jeremy that he has brought all this trouble on himself, by refusing Runaway Train his rightful World Title rematch last month. Rating B- ****** Match 5: v Runaway Train v Jeremy Stone Jeremy, clearly fed up with Train’s constant interference in his matches recently, made himself this matchup last week on Total Wrestling. Jeremy is giving away a huge size and power advantage to the former SWF champion, and Train uses this to control the early stages. Jeremy manages to fight back and take the big man to the mat, where he ties him up in some painful submission moves. Train manages to power out eventually and things are very even, when out of the crowd rushes Squeeky McClean. Whether it is him returning the favour to Train for his interference in previous weeks, or just his dislike of his closest challenger for the United States title that causes his interference, no one knows, but his presence turns the match in Runaway Train’s favour and Train finishes off the owner of KEY with the Train Wreck, thanks to Squeeky’s timely appearance at ringside. Winner: Runaway Train Rating C+ Notes: Jeremy looked good again, Train is just shocking for my ratings! ****** After the match, Runaway Train and Squeeky assault Jeremy, until out runs the World Champion, Angry Gilmore to chase the two heels away. Rating B ****** Match 6: v Natsu Miyamae v Nobu Tatsuko The two pairings of Team Pride and The Rebellion have faced each other in singles action as well as tag matches recently, and this match is the first of the return pairings. Despite their recent battles there is a lot of respect on show here, as the two men start slowly, feeling each other out, but soon they start firing on all cylinders, and wowing the crowd with some extremely stiff kicks and punches. Tatsuko is solidly in control for long periods, but Miyamae refuses to give in easily and takes Tatsuko close to his limit before eventually falling to the Tatsuko Driller. Winner: Nobuatsu Tatsuko Rating A ****** Squeeky McClean is now in front of a camera backstage, and as Angry comes out to the ring for his title defence against Liberty, Squeeky makes a challenge to Angry to face him next week. “You got yourself involved just now in something that didn’t concern you, and now I’m going to make you regret sticking your nose in.” Angry accepts the match, but refuses to put his title on the line against Squeeky, telling him that interfering in matches doesn’t earn you that honour, only winning matches cleanly does that! The two men shake hands to start the match and they battle for 17 minutes over the top title here in KEY. Despite the result never being really in doubt, Liberty is cheered on constantly by his fans, while Gilmore, still not quite the crowd favourite that his opponent is, even gets some heel heat in this match. Angry does retain the title though as he hits the Anger Management for the victory. Winner (and still KEY World Champion): Angry Gilmore Rating C Notes: Ouch. He doesn’t notice that one of the listeners is none other than Alex Braun until the former DAVE star taps him on the shoulder and tells him to shut up and stop bigging himself up. Mean Jean takes offence to this and attempts to blindside Braun, but the veteran is expecting the attack and with Cattley off balance from his swing and miss, Braun takes him to the ground with an arm lock, and tells him to put up or shut up permanently – by facing him tonight in the ring. Cattley winces in pain as Braun twists the hold still further, but agrees to the match. Initially, Guide gets drawn into a battle of the ‘spots’ but soon realises that Joshuya has him beat in that type of contest, and resorts to his natural, more ground based style, and soon dominates the match, finishing things with the Guided Missile. Winner: Guide Rating C+ ****** Jessie and Dawn the Cheerleader come out to fire some T shirts to the crowd, advertising the PPV next week – Who Wants to Live Forever. Braun has his moments as well, but it is Cattley who picks up another win to his name, as he fires off the Mood Swing to pin Alex. They complain about the illegal tactics used in his match last week against Runaway Train, when Squeeky McClean interfered. Train comes out too, along with his manager, The Guru, and they laugh at Jeremy, telling him that it is always good to have friends. An argument ensues and eventually Jeremy challenges Train to face him once again, at the PPV. Train shrugs and tells Jeremy that it is his funeral. Shimedzu and Kwakami are having a fantastic, enjoyable, even contest, until the New Wave interrupt proceedings and while Shimedzu distracts the referee, Scout and Guide hit Kwakami with the Wave of Mutilation. They roll him back into the ring and Shimedzu pins Kwakami for the win. "Clearly the New Wave feel a little threatened by Team Pride, and are attempting to gain an advantage in case they have to face them for their titles soon," claims Ana. Winner: Ken Shimedzu Rating A ****** Shimedzu, Scout and Guide continue to beat Kwakami, before Tatsuko and Jeremy Stone charge out to make the save. Tonight it is one of the Wrestling Machines, Human Arsenal, who opposes him, but he shows why he is so highly rated as he takes the attack to the older man throughout. Arsenal weathers the storm despite his injury, which is still hampering him, and fights back with his usual range of powerful suplexes and picks up a hard fought victory with the Ammo Dump. Winner: Human Arsenal Rating C+ ****** Squeeky McClean makes his entrance for his non title match, but first grabs a mic and tells Chris Rockwell that he will not be defending his title against the Rock at Who Wants to Live Forever, since he is sure that he will be facing Angry Gilmore for the World Title after beating him next. They know each other well from SWF, where they fought each other, and also tagged together, on several occasions. They work well together here, putting on an exciting match, which is curtailed by the appearance of Runaway Train, who causes Angry Gilmore a first loss, and gets some revenge of his own by hitting the champion with the Train Wreck. Squeeky completes the job by applying the Stain Removal for the upset win. “Surely this means that Squeeky will now be considered the No 1 contender for Angry’s belt, and will get the title shot that he claimed he wanted?” wonders Ana. KEY Total Wrestling, Tues Week 4 Feb 2007 at McGaw Arena, Tri State. Attendance 5000 (Sold Out!) The show opens with the hated figure of Squeeky McClean in the ring. He revels in the boos from the crowd, and they hate him even more when he reminds everyone that he beat Angry Gilmore last week and that he will beat him again later in the week, if justice is done and he gets a World Title shot. Rating B+ ****** Match 1: v Shooter Sean Deeley v Marcos Flores A wonderful (and most surprising) match between two wrestlers with contrasting styles, with the high flying Mexican, Flores, against the mat wrestler, Deeley. Flores starts very brightly, but once Deeley grounds him, it is all one-way traffic, and the Canadian picks up a comfortable win with a German Suplex. Winner: Shooter Sean Deeley Rating B+ ****** As Shooter returns backstage, he is greeted by his sometime tag partner, Steven Parker, who congratulates Deeley on his win and tells him that he needs his help with a little problem. They disappear into Parker’s dressing room, shutting the camera outside so we don’t know what more is said. Rating D- ****** Chris Rockwell is seen entering Nobu Tatsuko’s office. He demands that he get a US Title shot against Squeeky McClean, telling Nobu that Squeeky is not the only unbeaten wrestler here in KEY. Nobu tells him that he won’t get the match that he wants, but that he does get a PPV match, against Art Reed. The Rock is not happy and storms out of the office. Rating B- ****** Match 2: v The Rebellion v Super Crazy The two teams of Japanese stars do battle here, and it is a similar match to the preceding singles affair, in that Super Joshuya and Insane Machine hit all their spots early in the match, before the greater size and power of the Rebellion overcomes them. Shimedzu and Miyamae pick up the win with the Shimedzu Skull Drop. Winners: The Rebellion Rating C+ Notes: Shimedzu looked good, but Insane Machine was off his game tonight. ****** We now see the result of their earlier conversation, as the Future (Steven Parker and Shooter Sean Deeley) hit the ring and destroy Super Crazy from behind. Rating E+ ****** Nobu Tatsuko comes out to the ring and announces that the reason that Chris Rockwell didn’t get his US Title shot at Who Wants to Live Forever, is that the title will not be defended, as the current champion, Squeeky McClean, will be facing Angry Gilmore for the World Title instead. And as an added bonus for the fans, the two men get to choose the other’s opponent tonight. Rating B ****** Match 3: v The Extreme v Team PRIDE The tag title no 1 contenders match sees a battle between two teams of fan favourites. The Extreme are the bigger men, but this is offset by the superior technical abilities of the former PGHW pair, as Tatsuko looks especially impressive. Both teams get some good offence in, but it will be Team Pride who move forward to face the New Wave at Who Wants to Live Forever, as Kwakami forces Big Cat Brandon to submit to the Kwakami Painlock. The announcers wonder if Big Cat has still not totally recovered from the assault by the New Wave nearly a month ago, and that is causing their bad run. Winners: Team PRIDE Rating C ****** Jeremy Stone comes out now, and confirms that tag title matchup for Friday – it will be the New Wave v Team PRIDE. Rating C+ ****** Before Jeremy can leave the ring, he is asked by Rob for his thoughts on his rematch against Runaway Train at the PPV. “Runaway Train signifies all that is wrong in wrestling today, in that he believes that you can cheat and steal wins, rather than having to earn victories. He’s stolen one from me two weeks ago, but I am determined to get my revenge on Friday.” Rating B- ****** There is a commotion backstage. It is Mean Jean Cattley destroying Alex Braun. “He obviously still hasn’t forgiven Alex for humiliating him out in the lobby of the arena last week in front of all the crowd,” observes Ana Garcia. Rating D- ****** Angry Gilmore comes to the interview area backstage, where Squeeky McClean is waiting to find who his opponent for tonight is. Angry tells Squeeky that his opponent is a decorated veteran of the ring – it is none other than Liberty! Rating B ****** Match 4: v Scout v Alex Braun These two know each other very well from their time in DAVE, and it shows as they work a good match. The result is rather predictable, especially after Mean Jean’s earlier attack on Alex, with Scout finishing the veteran with the Special Force. Winner: Scout Rating A Notes: An unexpectedly good rating, given the one sided nature of the match. ****** Enforcer Roberts is backstage. He takes the mic, which I perhaps foolishly decided to give him, and tells the crowd that he seems to have been forgotten about this month. “I am the best wrestler here in KEY, no matter what all you morons think, and I will prove it on Friday against not one, but TWO wrestlers. So all you guys who don’t have a match at the PPV – find yourself a partner and you get your 15 minutes of fame, by losing a handicap match to the Enforcer.” Rating B- ****** Liberty is with Jason Azaria. “Angry Gilmore, you have placed a lot of faith in Liberty, selecting me to represent you tonight. I will do my very best to repay that faith and take out Squeeky McClean for you.” Rating B- ****** Match 5: v Squeeky McClean v Liberty Well it’s not a good match, as they don’t click at all, but Liberty gives it his all and takes the fight to Squeeky. However, Squeeky has simply too much for the surfer, and takes him down with the Clean Out, maintaining his good momentum going into the PPV. Winner: Squeeky McClean Rating C+ ****** Squeeky takes the mic and invites Angry Gilmore to come out. After a short pause, Angry warily appears at the top of the ramp to great cheers from the crowd. Squeeky laughs and tells him that he looks worried. “Are you afraid that I’ll take that belt from you in three days?” He goes on to announce that Gilmore’s opponent tonight is one half of the tag champions, Guide. Rating B ****** Match 6: v Jeremy Stone v Merle O’Curle KEY’s owner is in action now, as he looks to pick up some momentum heading into his re-match with Runaway Train at the PPV. Merle is a solid technical wrestler and his style meshes perfectly with Jeremy’s, and the crowd get really into the match, despite the obvious conclusion of a Stone victory, which does happen fairly quickly with the Stone Hold. Winner: Jeremy Stone Rating A Notes: They have great chemistry. ****** As Jeremy Stone walks up the ramp, Runaway Train appears through the curtain at the top, and the two men stare at each other intensely. A swarm of officials and security quickly appear before they can come into contact. Rating B+ ****** Jeremy is ushered to the back, while Train remains on the ramp. Squeeky McClean’s music hits and he joins Train as they make their way down to the ring. Squeeky tells Ana Garcia to leave the announce table, and he sits in her seat, with Train standing menacingly just behind him. “What is Train doing out here with you?” asks Jason. “He is my insurance policy,” replies Squeeky. “I’m not having that cheating s.o.b. attacking me while I’m out here minding my own business, commentating on his match.” Rating B+ ****** Match 7: v Angry Gilmore v Guide (non title match) Guide comes to the ring accompanied by both his manager, Queen Emily, and his tag partner, Scout. Angry Gilmore comes down to ringside and exchanges a few angry words with Squeeky at the announce table before the match starts. It is a back and forth match, with Scout getting involved at every opportunity. Towards the end, Guide throws Angry through the ropes and he crashes head first into the side of the announce table. As the referee comes outside to check on the champ’s condition, Scout comes up behind him and nails the referee over the head with his tag title belt, knocking him out. At that, both of the New Wave start attacking Angry Gilmore, and soon Runaway Train and Squeeky McClean join in as well. When Angry has been totally demolished, with all four men taking it in turns to hit their signature moves on him, they roll him back into the ring. Guide follows Angry into the ring as Scout rouses the referee by throwing a glass of water from the announce table in his face. He is rolled into the ring as well, and sees Guide covering the unconscious Gilmore, and very slowly and groggily counts the 1-2-3. Guide inflicts Gilmore’s second consecutive defeat prior to his World Title match against Squeeky at the PPV. Winner: Guide Rating B- Notes: The match rating was a big disappointment. ****** The four heels continue to assault Angry, and the beating only stops when their other three opponents for the PPV, Team PRIDE and Jeremy Stone, run out to chase them off. Rating B OVERALL RATING = B. TV Rating = 2.79 ****** Some injury news from the show - Insane Machine broke his fingers during his match, but is still available to work. And in case you’re wondering, Angry Gilmore is the worker who I am in contract negotiations with. He was too popular (B pop) prior to the last two weeks, so the losses were in order to give me any chance to re-sign him. Did it work? Well I guess you’ll probably find out in his match at the PPV! :p

KEY Who Wants to Live Forever PPV, Fri Week 4 Feb 2007 At Plum Park, Tri State. Flores gets a PPV appearance on the back of an excellent match last week against Shooter Sean Deeley, and this is Bloodstone’s last appearance here in KEY. It is a solid opening match and both men get equal offence, but it is the full time KEY wrestler who picks up the win with the Flores Heaven Elbow from the top rope. Winner: Marcos Flores Rating C+ ****** Squeeky McClean comes to the ring, smirking at the crowd, and he laughs at Angry Gilmore, reminding him that he has lost his last two matches, and that things come in runs of three. Angry comes out, err, angrily, and tells Squeeky that he is a coward, hiding behind Runaway Train and the New Wave last week. He says that he, Angry, is comfortably the better wrestler and he will show Squeeky that right now. With that he charges the ring and the two men go at it, until security come out and separate them and force them to wait till their official match at the end of the show. Rating B+ ****** Match 2: v The Future (Parker and Deeley) v Super Crazy (Super Joshuya and Insane Machine) Steven Parker has been on the wrong end of several defeats by Super Crazy over the past weeks, and seemed to recruit his old partner, Deeley, to help him last week as they attacked Super Crazy. Tonight the four men face off in tag action, and it is another solid bout, as the contrasting styles of the teams keep the crowd hot for the action. Deeley is clearly the best wrestler out there, and his presence is enough for Parker to pick up a first victory, when Deeley forces Super Joshuya to submit to a Front Choke Lock. Winners: The Future Rating C+ Notes: Insane Machine was hampered by his broken fingers somewhat, while Deeley looked good. ****** Enforcer Roberts comes out to the ring and tells the crowd that he has still not had any reply to his open handicap challenge from earlier in the week. He repeats the challenge, but once again no one comes out to accept. After waiting for a couple of minutes, he starts mocking everyone out back, reminding them that this is a PPV, a big event, and that for most of them, this will be the only chance they have to appear on such an event. Eventually, Kashmir Singh appears, alongside Hitomaro Suzuki, although neither man seems too certain that they really want to accept Enforcer’s challenge. Winner: Enforcer Roberts Rating C- ****** Backstage, we see Angry Gilmore in a very bad situation, as his opponent, Squeeky McClean, has once again enlisted the help of the New Wave, and the three men start assaulting the World Champion. But before they can incapacitate him too badly, the New Wave’s opponents, Team Pride, join the battle, and with the numbers now evened up, Squeeky leads his men away. Rating B- ****** Match 4: v Mean Jean Cattley v Alex Braun Well despite their bad chemistry in their previous match, they performed well, but tonight was a different story. The timing was off, and despite their obvious animosity and intensity, this match never quite worked out. Once again though, Mean Jean took home the victory as he pinned Braun following the Mood Swing. Winner: Mean Jean Cattley Rating C Notes: Bad chemistry and Braun was tiring after just 12 minutes. ****** Rob Goodey joins the New Wave in the ring and they tell the world just how good they are, with them being undefeated in tag action, Scout also undefeated in singles action, and Guide having just beaten the world champ earlier in the week. “How on earth do Team Pride think they have a chance of taking our belts tonight?” they crow. Rating B- ****** Match 5: v The New Wave v Team PRIDE (for the KEY Tag Titles) Team Pride run to the ring and seem to catch the New Wave slightly by surprise as they control the early going. But the predictable cheating from the champs turns things their way as they cut the ring in half and isolate Kwakami from his senior partner. Eventually Tatsuko does manage to get back in, and cleans house for a while, before more shenanigans from Scout and Guide sees them take control again. Kwakami comes back in and is picked off by the former DAVE champs, and he falls to the Wave of Mutilation, as the New Wave successfully defend their titles. Winners (and still Tag Champions): The New Wave Rating C+ Notes: Scout shone in this match, even overshadowing Tatsuko! ****** Scout and Guide retrieve their belts and pose in the ring, to the boos of the crowd. Rating B ****** The announcers, Jason, Ana and Rob, briefly talk about our next two competitors, Liberty and JD Morgan, who have both picked up morale boosting wins this month. They note that Liberty has beaten JD 4 weeks ago, and wonder if he can repeat that result now. Rating C+ ****** Match 6: v Liberty v JD Morgan And it’s a better match than their previous one, as JD seems to coach Liberty through the basics of a good battle. Back and forth it goes and Morgan evens the score between the two men as he forces Liberty to submit to the Cross Atlantic Stretch. Winner: JD Morgan Rating B- ****** JD Morgan starts to celebrate, and turns round to find Liberty offering to shake his hand. He laughs and ignores the surfer, rolling out of the ring and jauntily walking up the ramp to the back. Rating C+ ****** Backstage, we see Runaway Train lifting some weights and warming up for his match. Train uses his size to his advantage and gets several near falls before he is fatally caught in the Stone Hold, in a match which, surprisingly, has no interference. Winner: Jeremy Stone Rating C+ Notes: Train wasn’t happy at losing ****** As Jeremy celebrated, Train charges into the back of him and proceeds, with the element of surprise, to beat Jeremy down to the mat. Rating B+ Notes: That unhappiness was in the storyline too! :p ****** When the medics have helped Jeremy to the back, the music of Chris Rockwell hits, and the c0cky superstar makes his way to the ring. As normal, he wants to run his mouth before his match, complaining yet again about the lack of respect that he is shown, and the fact that all the regular KEY wrestlers are avoiding facing him in the ring, meaning he has to face all the outsiders from other promotions, rather than getting wins to move him up the KEY rankings. The rap music of Art Reed halts his complaints. Rating B- ****** Match 8: v Chris Rockwell v Art Reed Another good match from both men, as although there is really no storyline to back up this match, they wow the crowd with their skill. Art gives as good as he gets, but once again the Rock does back up his huge ego with his actions, and he takes out Reed with the Rock Down for the win. Winner: Chris Rockwell Rating B Art comes over to Rockwell and offers his hand in respect. It focuses on how Squeeky has enlisted the aid of Runaway Train and the New Wave to inflict defeats on Gilmore in recent weeks. “But can Squeeky win the title on his own merits?” asks Ana. “If he has the help of Train and the New Wave again tonight, he might not need to win it cleanly,” responds Jason. Rating B+ ****** Match 9: v Angry Gilmore v Squeeky McClean (for the KEY World Championship) And what a battle it is. The first half of this match saw both men fight cleanly but intensely, with neither gaining much advantage. But then the predictable involvement of Runaway Train occurs, as while Squeeky keeps the ref’s attention, Train assaults Gilmore on the outside. But then, to the relief of the crowd, Jeremy Stone appears and he chases Train off to the back. Angry is weakened and Squeeky takes control, but he cannot quite finish Gilmore off. Back out charges Runaway Train, apparently having given Jeremy the slip, and Angry is in deep trouble for a while. But once again Jeremy appears and the four men go toe to toe on the outside. This time the referee has seen it all, and he gives up trying to keep order and throws the match out, much to the anger of Squeeky McClean, when he hears the bell sound. Winner: DRAW – double stoppage. Rating A ****** With the four men still fighting, chaos reigns, and out come the New Wave to help McClean and Train. Their 4 on 2 advantage doesn’t last long though, as their opponents from earlier, Team Pride, once again even the numbers up, and the show goes off air with the brawl still raging. END OF MONTH SUMMARY Well I'm sure you've guessed anyway from him retaining the World Title, but yes, Angry Gilmore did sign a new deal, but only on a PPA basis. Good job my prestige is higher than anyone else's, so I still get first call on him. :p KEY Total Wrestling goes off air as a TV network to show it cannot be found at this time. BLW (in the UK) also lose their TV deal, just as they are starting to put on better shows. Insane Machine regains full fitness, as does Human Arsenal. So what of our future? The decision is made to run a 1 hour long, medium sized, weekly show around the 8 low popularity areas of USA for the next three months, when hopefully we can get another TV show. This will be called (unimaginatively) KEY Spreading The Word. Only a few title changes in the other major promotions this month: JCWA - Noriyori Sanda and Emerald Angel win the vacant Tag Titles. NLWF - Ryan Powell drops the World Title to Eddie Chandler. IOW - Chance Fortune and Robbie Retro take the vacant Tag Titles. ALL Wrestle - Wolf Hawkins becomes their champion. T-Pro - Acid and Edd Stone defeat Black Hat Bailey and Danny B Bling for the Tag Titles. GC - El Yaagoudi defeats van der Leyne for the Extremus Title.

[OOC - Since the shows this month are somewhat smaller and less storyline driven, they will be written up in a much shorter form, without graphics. The second reason for this is that I've been enjoying the game so much that I've got a fair way ahead of this diary - so I want to try and catch up slightly!] On with the show: KEY Spreading The Word, Tues Week 1 March 2007 at Delaware Auditorium, Mid Atlantic. Attendance 1000 (Sold Out!) The show opens with Squeeky McClean demanding that Jeremy Stone give him a re-match against Angry Gilmore at the next PPV. Jeremy tells him he will think about it. Rating B ****** Jeremy goes on to tell everyone, that next week, Enforcer Roberts will face Chris Caulfield. Rating C+ ****** Match 1: Team PRIDE v The Future Excellent tag match, the best so far here in KEY, which is won by Team Pride, who further their case to get a re-match for the tag titles against the New Wave at the PPV. Winners: Team PRIDE Rating B- ****** Tatsuko takes the mic after the match and announces that tonight’s main event will be Angry Gilmore putting the World Title on the line against JD Morgan. Rating B- ****** Match 2: Runaway Train v Marcos Flores Bit of a squash match, as Train dominates and finishes Flores with the Train Wreck. Winner: Runaway Train Rating C ****** Jason Azaria interviews Chris Rockwell, who repeats his regular moan about not getting any title shots. Rating B- ****** Match 3: Chris Rockwell v Ken Shimedzu A fantastic match, as Rockwell and Shimedzu wow the crowd with a fine display of wrestling. It remains very even until out of nowhere, the Rock hits the Rock Down for the win. Winner: Chris Rockwell Rating A ****** Tatsuko comes out again and makes another match for next week – it is Squeeky McClean v Big Cat Brandon. Rating B ****** Match 4: Angry Gilmore v JD Morgan (for the World Title) Another excellent match, showing just how consistent JD Morgan is. Predictably, Squeeky McClean got involved, but Angry shrugged him off and powered to victory with the Anger Management. KEY Spreading The Word, Tues Week 2 March 2007 at New Mexico Armoury, Mid South. Attendance 1000 (Sold Out!) Match 1: New Wave (c) v Super Crazy (for the Tag Titles) Wow – another best tag match ever. The result was never in doubt, but all four men made it look very competitive. Scout locks in the Special Force on Insane Machine for the win. Winners (and still Tag Champions): The New Wave Rating B ****** Jeremy Stone comes out and tells the New Wave that they have got too big for their boots, getting involved at the last PPV in a battle that didn’t concern them, therefore at the next PPV, Don’t Look Back In Anger, they will not only face Team Pride again, but also The Extreme in a 3 way tag match. In addition, all six men will have singles matches over the next couple of weeks, and The Extreme will also have a warm up tag match, like the New Wave and Team Pride have had in the past two weeks. He then says that the first singles match is coming right up. Rating C+ ****** Match 2: Chris Caulfield v Enforcer Roberts Unfortunately these two don’t click at all, and it shows, as they stumble their way through a poor match, which ends with Enforcer winning via the RCT. “Not a good start for the Extreme, as they prepare for their tag title shot” comments Jason. Winner: Enforcer Roberts Rating C ****** Match 3: Jeremy Stone v Mean Jean Cattley A nice contrast to the previous match, with Jeremy riding the momentum that he got from beating Runaway Train at the last PPV, and finishing the Mean Machine off with the Stone Hold. Winner: Jeremy Stone Rating B+ ****** Unsurprisingly, as Jeremy celebrates, out lumbers Runaway Train, who nails him from behind and powers Jeremy to the canvas with the Train Wreck. Rating A ****** As Train saunters triumphantly up the ramp, Jeremy manages to get to a mic and challenge him to a rubber match at the next PPV. Train slowly turns round, shakes his head (as if to wonder at Jeremy’s stupidity) and then nods to accept. Rating B+ ****** Before the dazed Jeremy can get all the way to the back, Squeeky McClean comes out and gets in his face, once again demanding a re-match with Angry Gilmore. This time, Jeremy agrees, on condition that he puts his US Title on the line tonight, and beats Big Cat Brandon in tonight’s main event, a match that now serves a double purpose (the other one being Big Cat’s singles warm up match). Squeeky is somewhat happier to hear this, and beckons Big Cat to the ring. Jeremy continues and tells Squeeky that if he gets any outside help in any match from now until the PPV, then his title shot will be cancelled, even if he wins tonight. Rating B- ****** Match 4: Squeeky McClean (c) v Big Cat Brandon (for the United States Title) And it’s a great way to end the night as these two put on the best match of the night. Big Cat desperately needs to get some momentum back for The Extreme, and would also like to win the US Title, and Squeeky has the incentive of not only retaining his title, but also getting another world title shot if he wins, so they both put in 110%. Big Cat makes the early going, pummelling Squeeky down to the mat, but he makes a small mistake and this allows the champ to turn things round, and Squeeky eventually wins cleanly (for once) with the Clean Out submission move. Winner (and still United States champion): Squeeky McClean Rating A ****** As Squeeky celebrates, out comes Angry, holding his title belt aloft, and he congratulates Squeeky on managing to win a fair fight for once. He tells Squeeky to bring his A-game to Don’t Look Back In Anger, because he will need it, telling his challenger that the title is going nowhere. KEY Spreading The Word, Tues Week 3 March 2007 at The Junkyard, Mid West. Attendance 1000 (Sold Out!) Jeremy Stone comes to the ring with his manager, Jessie, and talks about how he founded KEY to showcase good, clean wrestling, and how he is going to make sure that certain people don’t ruin his dreams, by trying to cheat their way to victories all the time. Rating B- ****** Match 1: Guide v Liberty Guide has his singles match now, that was ordered last week by Jeremy. Liberty gets a great pop as he comes out, but goodness knows why, as his matches pretty much all suck, and this was no exception. It’s all fairly even until Scout sticks his nose in the match, and from then on, there is only one winner, as Guide destroys Liberty, leaving him down and out at the end. Winner: Guide Rating C ****** As Liberty staggers to the back, Chris Rockwell comes out for his match, and he laughs at Liberty, asking him how poor TCW must have been, so that a has-been like him was a multi-time world champion. Liberty tries to respond, but the officials keep them apart. Rating B ****** Match 2: Chris Rockwell v Natsu Miyamae This is how a match should run, as they battle well for several minutes, before Rockwell emerges victorious once again. Winner: Chris Rockwell Rating A ****** Liberty makes another appearance, and he challenges the Rock to face him at Don’t Look Back In Anger. Rockwell laughs and tells him that it is his funeral. Rating B+ ****** Rob catches up with Angry Gilmore before his match tonight, and asks him about having to face Squeeky McClean again at the PPV. Angry shrugs and says that he has no worries about beating Squeeky, assuming that Jeremy and Nobu manage to control Squeeky’s allies, and allow it to be a fair fight. Rating B+ ****** Match 3: Angry Gilmore (c) v Merle O’Curle (for the World Title) Although this match is nominally a title match, everyone in the building knows that it is purely a warm up, and that O’Curle is not going to win. Therefore it is all the more impressive of the two men that they really get the crowd into the match and make them believe in the reality of the result. Angry does win, in another excellent match. Winner (and still KEY World Champion): Angry Gilmore Rating A ****** Match 4: Nobu Tatsuko v JD Morgan A nice solid battle to round off the evening, and it is Tatsuko’s turn to square off in singles action before the tag title match. He controls most of the bout, and to no-one’s surprise, he hits the Tatsuko Driller for the win. Winner: Nobu Tatsuko Rating B+ ****** As Tatsuko celebrates, he is blindsided by both members of the New Wave, who obviously still fear his ability, and are looking to hurt him before having to defend their titles at the PPV. Rating B OVERALL RATING = B+ Big Cat Brandon re-signs, as expected, with us on a PPA deal. Bad news elsewhere for Ed Monton who sustains a Semi Severed Spinal Column, which costs him the two titles that he currently holds, in NLWF and QWA (one of the small promotions). It will also probably end his career, since he is 45 already. Just 3 days later, Dark Eagle sustains the same injury. Again, at 41 years old, this will probably cost him his career with TEWF.

Scout is trying to show that he is the real star of KEY, as he churns out lots of impressive singles matches, (admittedly, some of them have been under no pressure in dark time - hence you not knowing about them!) but here he rescues the show, as he and Kwakami, who is also performing WAY above my initial expectations, leave the crowd wanting lots more. Scout does get the victory over one of his tag opponents on Friday, with his submission move, the Special Force. Winner: Scout Rating A* ****** Scout refuses to release the Special Force when the bell rings, and he is joined in the ring by Guide, who stomps on Kwakami for a short time, until Tatsuko runs out to rescue his partner. “But will they have done enough damage to harm Team Pride’s chances in three days time?” wonders Jason. Rating B- OVERALL RATING = B Well it didn't take long - Angry Gilmore, no longer having a written contract with KEY, decides to join TEWF as well. Last month they fought a title match to a draw, when Train and Jeremy Stone joined in the battle. Who will win their 3rd encounter? Jeremy Stone v Runaway Train - it is 1-1 between these two - this is their rubber match - who takes it - the power of Runaway Train, or the sweet science of Jeremy Stone? The New Wave (c) v The Extreme v Team PRIDE (for the KEY Tag Titles) - the New Wave have been dominant as champs - especially with the underhanded tactics that they employ. Can the two fan favourite teams work together to create an upset title change here? Chris Rockwell v Liberty - Liberty has been pretty poor since coming to KEY, while the Rock has been on an impressive win streak. Will these events continue, or will a Liberty win over the former 'Lobster Warrior' now count as a huge upset? Human Arsenal v Mean Jean Cattley - Arsenal is finally fit, and has been complaining at me to put him in the ring for his final match of his loan spell in KEY. Just to get the ball rollin' for ya... Angry Gilmore (c) v Squeeky McClean (for the KEY World Title) - I can't see you dropping Gilmore here. I don't know who he'd ever drop to, but McClean definitely wouldn't be my choice. Jeremy Stone v Runaway Train - You've got a lot of technicians on this roster, so I think Stone is a better high push for you even if only for matchup reasons. The New Wave (c) v The Extreme v Team PRIDE (for the KEY Tag Titles) - I could see this being the title that switches, since I can't see Gilmore losing, but I'm sticking with my hometown DaVE boys. Chris Rockwell v Liberty - I'm sure we'll see something underhanded. Human Arsenal v Mean Jean Cattley - He's on his way out. There's no upside to giving him the push. KEY Don’t Look Back In Anger PPV, Fri Week 4 Mar 2007 Angry Gilmore (c) v Squeeky McClean (for the KEY World Title) - He's all signed, and you've probably got more prestige than me now so it makes sense to keep the strap on the biggest star. Jeremy Stone v Runaway Train - A win here should be enough to get Stone into a main event program with Angry. No doubt that would be the caliber match you'd want headlining. The New Wave (c) v The Extreme v Team PRIDE (for the KEY Tag Titles) - The sooner you break up the New Wave and use them both as singles wrestlers, the better. I think that A* match from Scout has you considering it. Chris Rockwell v Liberty - We all know Liberty and Train are only here to job their overness down, no suprises here. Human Arsenal v Mean Jean Cattley - Ever since Human Arsenal took personal shots at my user character in the original TEW, he's been a favorite of mine. Bulldozer Brandon Smith v Eisaku Kunomasu - I hate Bulldozer, I hope he jobs even if you just brought in the Snowman, Sessue Kawate.

[OOC - Thanks for the predictions guys - lets now see how you did!] KEY Don’t Look Back In Anger PPV, Fri Week 4 Mar 2007 At Plum Park, Tri State. Attendance 8829 [OOC again - very disappointing audience, since it was predicted at about 12-13000] Chris Rockwell is in the ring to open the PPV. Train throws the first punch, and when Jeremy responds, he is jumped by the New Wave as well. “It’s a set up,” complains Ana, but the three on one beating doesn’t last for long, as Team Pride make a timely appearance and level the numbers, before chasing the heels away. “How much damage did that do to Jeremy, I wonder?” asks Jason. There is never too much doubt as to the winners here, as the Rebellion dominates, and Shimedzu gets the win after the Shimedzu Skull Drop. Winners: The Rebellion Rating C+ ****** Out come both the owners of KEY, Jeremy Stone and Nobu Tatsuko. They announce that next month, every event will be on PPV, as they have inaugurated a big singles tournament over the whole month, involving 32 wrestlers. It will be called the Best of the Best, and the winner will get TWO guaranteed title shots at the title of their choice over the next year, whilst the runner up will get ONE title shot. The first round will take place over the next three weeks, with the second round in week 4, and the quarters, semis and the final at the main PPV, which will be (unsurprisingly) called Best of the Best. There will be 24 spots for KEY wrestlers, straight from the ARSEHOLES rankings (ie overall overness in USA), with 8 wildcards to be awarded over the next few days. Rating B+ ****** As Nobu wishes Jeremy luck for his match, and leaves the ring, we cut backstage to where Squeeky McClean is winding Runaway Train up, telling him that Jeremy will give himself an easy draw in the tournament, while deliberately stitching Train up, and that clearly this will be unfair, especially if Train beats him tonight. Rating B+ ****** Match 3: v Runaway Train v Jeremy Stone With these two having been at each other’s throats for weeks now, the news about the tournament has stirred up the hatred even more, and the intensity in this match is almost visible. Train builds up an early head of steam as he powers through Jeremy, but Jeremy uses his usual game plan of weathering the early onslaught and then slowing the big man down with submission moves and holds. As the match moves on, Train gets slower and slower, and even when he does turn things round, his advantages become shorter and shorter. Eventually Jeremy manages to lock in the Stone Hold and even the complaints and encouragement from the Guru at ringside cannot stop his client from tapping out. Winner: Jeremy Stone Rating B- Notes: Wow – a match rating better than a C+ from Train!!! I'm in shock! :p ****** As Jeremy celebrates the win, Train returns backstage, to be met by Squeeky, who winds his ally up even more. With extremely bad timing, Angry Gilmore happens to walk past right at that moment, and Train decides to take out his anger on the champ. Squeeky is not slow in joining in and they lay the boots in until Jeremy Stone sees this action on the big screen and sprints backstage to Angry’s rescue. It is not to be, however, as Parker resorts to every illegal trick he knows, and Deeley provides the science to give them another win. Winners: The Future Rating C+ ****** Nobu Tatsuko comes out again, and announces that he has had enough of the attacks and interference every time that Angry Gilmore and Squeeky McClean see each other, and therefore he is ordering that their title match tonight will end instantly, the moment that any other wrestler comes to ringside. “There will be no interference at all, or else…” he warns. Rating B+ ****** Match 5: v Bulldozer v Mito Miwa Our large debutant, the Bulldozer (Brandon Smith) makes his way out on a Harley (ie using a biker gimmick), and his opponent, the legendary Japanese star, Mito Miwa, who is here on a short trade from ALLWrestle, has his hands full with the big man. Miwa dominates the majority of the match with his kicks and chops, but it takes just a couple of power moves for Bulldozer to turn the tide. He quickly hits an impressive powerbomb on Miwa and then finishes things with his Backdrop Driver, named the Dozer Driver by the announcers (credit to BriFidelity in his diary for the name) to stun the audience, who didn’t expect to see a legend like Miwa defeated by a rookie. Winner: Bulldozer Rating C+ ****** Jason Azaria enters the ring to join Bulldozer and get a few words with the youngster. “I was a star football player at school, and now I’m going to dominate wrestling. You all saw what I just did to a legend like Mito Miwa, and that is exactly how it will be in every match that I have here in KEY. I’m here for gold, and it will not be long in arriving!” Rating E+ ****** Backstage, the camera pans onto Liberty, who is sat quietly in a corner, looking very unhappy. “He isn’t used to facing athletes of the quality of those in KEY, and all these losses must be getting to him,” comments Ana. Rating B ****** Rob has disappeared backstage, where he catches up with the defending KEY World Champion, Angry Gilmore, and he asks Angry how he is after the earlier beating from Squeeky and Runaway Train. “I’m fine, and I will take it out on Squeeky later. And for the first time, it will just be me and him, finding out who is really the better wrestler, not who has the most allies willing to cheat on his behalf. And once I’ve retained my title, I will go on to the Best of the Best tournament next month, and win that as well.” Rating B+ ****** Match 6: v v The New Wave (c) v The Extreme v Team PRIDE (for the Tag Titles) We now have the tag title match, and it starts off as a bit of a handicap match, as both Team PRIDE and The Extreme have been on the wrong end of beatings and defeats by the New Wave previously. But this all stops when Big Cat Brandon forgets that this is an elimination match and breaks up a Kwakami pin attempt on Scout, thinking that the pin would give Team PRIDE the titles! Team PRIDE and the Extreme then turn on each other, and this gives the New Wave a few moments respite, which they use to their advantage, when Scout sneaks a roll up pin on Big Cat, while Caulfield and Tatsuko are battling outside, to eliminate the Extreme. Angered by this, Big Cat nails Kwakami from behind, and once the New Wave hit the Wave of Mutilation on the youngster, the final result is a foregone conclusion. Winners (and still Tag Champions): The New Wave Rating C+ Notes: And I still can't get a decent tag rating from these guys. Just don't understand it. ****** Laughing at the unexpected turn of events, Scout and Guide pose with their belts, as both losing teams are furious at the result. Rating B ****** Jason and Ana remind the crowd that our next match is Human Arsenal’s final appearance of his loan, having been delayed by his injury last month. His opponent will be one of KEY’s most successful wrestlers so far, the c0cky Mean Jean Cattley. It’s very even all the way through and it is only the dangerous Ammo Dump finisher that is the difference maker, as that picks up the win for Human Arsenal. Winner: Human Arsenal Rating B- ****** Rob catches up with the United States Champion, Squeeky McClean, who is livid at the strict ruling about interference, claiming that it is a vendetta against him, but promising victory anyway. As with all their previous matches, it is a technical masterclass, and neither man maintains control for long, as they impressively counter each other’s moves. The announcers comment that it is nice to have an interference free match, and the crowd seems to enjoy that fact too, as they witness a good match. The end comes when Angry manages to reverse an irish whip to the ropes, and hits the Anger Management for the pin, using Squeeky’s momentum to increase the impact.
......... You put Bulldozer Brandon Smith over Mito Miwa in his debut match? Excuse me while I light myself on fire!
[SHRUG] Miwa is a loan signing, and he is not in the least bit popular in the States - and hey - what better way to announce yourself in pro wrestling than to beat a legend ? Gotta be honest - I was surprised the match rating wasn't better though! Just be thankful that our war pact is still in place or I might have put him over Dan Jr!!! :p

KEY Spreading The Word (on PPV), Tues Week 1 April 2007 At Wisconsin Gardens, Great Lakes. Attendance 9618 Rob is at the top of the entrance ramp and he introduces the owners of KEY, Jeremy Stone and Nobuatsu Tatsuko, who come out to join Rob, carrying an impressive trophy. They tell the crowd that this trophy will be awarded to the winner of the Best of the Best Tournament, and that tonight is the start of that tournament, which will conclude at the final PPV, of the same name, of this month. They point to a sealed box on a table on the stage, which they announce contains the names of all the non-seeded wrestlers in the tournament. They announce that the seed who will be in the next match, will come out to the stage, and draw a name out of the box, and that wrestler will be his opponent in round one. After that, the draw will be totally random. (Yeah right – if you believe that, you’ll believe anything! :p ) Jeremy and Nobu then announce that tonight’s matches will include 3 of the top 5 seeds in the tournament – Runaway Train (who the ARSEHOLES still seeded number one), Nobu himself, seeded 3, and first of all, Guide, who is seeded 5. Rating B Notes: The ARSEHOLES seedings are based on the wrestlers overness in USA, and I haven’t been able to reduce Train’s overness too far (as yet!) :D ****** As Jeremy and Nobu leave the stage, out comes Guide for the opening match. He comes up to Rob, who opens the top of the box far enough for Guide to insert his hand and pick out a slip of paper with a name on it. He looks at the name, and starts grinning, obviously pleased with his selection of opponent. Rob takes the paper, and announces that it will be Guide v Super Joshuya, up next. Rating B- ****** Match 1: v Guide (5) v Super Joshuya Super Joshuya doesn’t look pleased at being apparently regarded as an easy opponent, and takes the attack to the tag champion. Although Guide is perfectly capable of matching him in high risk offence, he stays grounded for the majority of the match, and simply waits for the masked Japanese wrestler to make a mistake. This does eventually happen, as Joshuya misses with a flying headbutt, and Guide proceeds to dismantle Joshuya, finally finishing him with the Guided Missile, to advance into round 2. Winner: Guide (5) Rating B- ****** Guide’s manager, Queen Emily, grabs a microphone and tells everyone that her man, Guide, is going to show everyone in this tournament that he is a singles star as well as being one half of the most dominant tag team in the world. Scout, who is also out at ringside as Emily's bodyguard, looks a little unhappy at Guide getting all the praise. Rating C+ ****** Ana Garcia takes over the MC-ing duties on the stage now, as Runaway Train comes out to draw his opponent, to loud boos. Train selects a name, looks at it impassively, before handing it to Ana, who announces that Train will face the young wildcard, the Bulldozer. Rating B+ ****** Train comes down to the ring, takes the microphone off the ring announcer, and tells Bulldozer that he may be big and tough, and have beaten Miwa last week, but that this week the only surprise that will be happening, will be Dozer finding out just how painful the Train Wreck really is, and how it feels to lose 1-2-3. Rating B+ ****** Match 2: v Runaway Train (1) v Bulldozer Dozer comes out, and it seems to take Train slightly by surprise when they go nose to nose, that Dozer is actually slightly bigger than the former SWF champion. Train throws the first punch, and it is a predictable match, as the two men exchange right hands, which neither man sells at all. Train starts unloading a series of rights, but can’t put Dozer down, also much to his surprise. He then resorts to the old faithful cheat, the thumb to the eye, to gain the advantage, and has a good period of offence following this. Dozer fights back, showing that he has more to his arsenal than just a brawling style, and once again, Train resorts to an illegal move, this time a low blow. He whips Dozer across the ring and hits a violent clothesline, sending the youngster down. He repeats the move twice more and then signals to the crowd for the Train Wreck, bending Dozer over in preparation for the move. But incredibly, Dozer powers out and reverses the attempted Train Wreck straight into his Dozer Driver, and before Train can react, he pins him for the three count! “Oh my God!! Bulldozer has just pulled off the most amazing upset of this year,” screams Jason. “Not only of this year, but of this century,” agrees Ana. :D Winner: Bulldozer Rating C+ ****** Runaway Train is clearly furious, and as Bulldozer starts celebrating, he attacks him from behind, but again, his assault seems to have little effect on Dozer, who avoids another clothesline, and comes off the ropes with a flying shoulder block, which sends Train himself out through the ropes. His manager, The Guru, convinces Train to continue this fight on another occasion, and they retreat to the back, as Bulldozer eagerly beckons him back into the ring for more. Rating C ****** Jason Azaria now goes to the lottery machine and awaits one half of the Rebellion, Natsu Miyamae, who comes out to draw his number. He takes one look and throws down the piece of paper in disgust. Jason picks it up and announces that it will be Miyamae versus the visiting Zimmy Bumfhole. “Obviously Miyamae has seen just how good the Bumfholes are, and doesn’t fancy his chances here,” suggests Rob. Rating D- ****** Before that match starts, Jason and Ana announce that next week, we get to see the number 6 seed, Jeremy Stone in his first round match. Rating B- ****** Match 3: v Natsu Miyamae v Zimmy Bumfhole Miyamae does look a little wary initially, and Zimmy takes full advantage of this, showing just why he and his brother are tipped for the top. He is looking good for another potential surprise, when Ken Shimedzu appears and this distracts Zimmy, allowing Miyamae to take control. He unleashes his full repertoire at Zimmy, but Zimmy regains the initiative after a while. This time, Miyamae rolls outside, and while the referee attempts to get him back into the ring, Zimmy is nailed from behind by Shimedzu. Miyamae takes control again, and this time he puts Zimmy away with the Miyamae Spoiler to advance, somewhat fortuitously, to round 2. Winner: Natsu Miyamae Rating A* Notes: Great match, which I wasn't really expecting ****** As Zimmy slowly and ruefully walks to the back, Runaway Train appears, and his mood hasn’t improved. He clotheslines Zimmy to the floor, then picks him up and proceeds to hit the Train Wreck on his former SWF colleague, leaving Zimmy unconscious on the concrete. "Guess he had to take out his ager on someone," says Jason, "and Zimmy just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time." Rating B- ****** Jeremy Stone comes out and draws the next match himself. He then announces that it will be Akinori Kwakami against another visitor to KEY, Jungle Jack! Rating D ****** Out to the back we go to find Jessie with the World Champion, Angry Gilmore. She asks him for his thoughts about this tournament. “Well Jessie, I am looking forward to it. It is another opportunity for me to show just how good I am, and the winner of this tournament will certainly have proved themselves to really be the Best of the Best.” Rating B+ ****** Match 4: v Akinori Kwakami v Jungle Jack A good solid match up here, with Kwakami trying to use his superior technical skills to overcome the power and strength of Jungle Jack. Both men showed the crowd their potential to go a long way in this tournament, but it was Kwakami who forced Jack to tap out to the Kwakami Painlock in the end. Winner: Akinori Kwakami Rating B- ****** Kwakami is celebrating. He turns round and finds Jungle Jack stood in his path. Slightly unsure of Jack’s motives, he backs off a little, but then Jack offers him his hand, and the two men shake hands and soak up the applause of the crowd together. Rating D- ****** Jessie now comes to the stage, and is soon followed by Mean Jean Cattley, who is next to pick his opponent. He draws the name out and looks pretty pleased. Jessie announces the opponent as Insane Machine, who Cattley has beaten before here in KEY. Rating D ****** Rob and Ana mention that another of next week’s matches will involve Enforcer Roberts in action. He is seeded 4th. Both men get several near falls, but it is, as expected, Cattley, who advances, thanks to the Mood Swing. Winner: Mean Jean Cattley Rating B+ ****** Jason Azaria is back by the lottery box, and the number 3 seed, Nobuatsu Tatsuko, comes to join him. He selects his opponent, and when he sees the name, he smiles. Jason announces that it will be Nobu Tatsuko v Ken Shimedzu, which explains the smile, given the rivalry between the two teams. Rating B+ ****** Jason asks Nobu for his thoughts on this match. “Well I’m happy to face Shimedzu again – he and his partner have been a thorn in Team PRIDE’s side for the past couple of months and I look forward to renewing our PGHW v Burning Hammer rivalry, and putting him in his place tonight.” Rating C+ ****** Match 6: v Nobu Tatsuko (3) v Ken Shimedzu There is no love lost between these two men and it shows, as they go after each other from the word go. They make the crowd gasp at the stiffness of their kicks, and the intensity of their exchanges. Predictably, only a few minutes into the bout, out charges Natsu Miyamae, to try and influence the result and help his partner into round 2, but the 2 on 1 advantage is soon evened out by Akinori Kwakami appearing as well. He and Miyamae battle outside the ring and this leaves Shimedzu and Tatsuko to continue the match inside the ropes. Tatsuko is not to be denied tonight, and he moves through when he catches Shimedzu with the Tatsuko Driller. Winner: Nobu Tatsuko Rating A* ****** Shimedzu and Miyamae aren’t done though and they continue to attack Tatsuko after the match, although with Kwakami at ringside as well, they soon decide that it isn’t the wisest idea, and they retreat to the back. Rating D OVERALL RATING = B PPV Buy Rate 0.04 Ken Shimedzu re-signs, although his written deal is now a PPA. In random world news, Doug Peak has been jailed for breaking and entering. I guess being unemployed and only appearing on two Japanese independent shows has meant he was a bit short of cash. Well no worries for the next year, Doug - you'll get all your meals paid for by the Japanese government!!! :p

Winner: Human Arsenal Rating B- ****** Jessie comes to the ring for a few words with Human Arsenal, who tells the crowd that he is now fully fit, and that they will see the REAL Human Arsenal this time round, and that his defeats on his previous visit were purely as a result of being hampered by injury. Rating D ****** Rob now talks to our next seed, Big Cat Brandon (number 12). Brandon absorbs a lot of punishment, but fights back in the end and finishes Diaz with the Big Cat Pounce. He is very relieved to have advanced to round 2. Winner: Big Cat Brandon Rating B ****** Squeeky McClean comes to the ring, surprising the announcers, who were not expecting his appearance. He tells the crowd that they have picked the wrong week to watch the show, as if they had come next week, they would see him in action. He wishes all the other 31 competitors in the tournament the best of luck, and tells them that the best man will win. At this point some unfamiliar music hits, and out comes a young woman, in wrestling gear. She takes offence to Squeeky’s comments that the best MAN will win, claiming that she is as good as any man in the tournament. Squeeky laughs and tells her to go back to the kitchen and keep her house clean. Jason eventually recognises the woman as Sam Strong's daughter, Alicia, and when she tells Squeeky that he is going to regret those words, Jason comments that she might just do exactly that. Alicia is ushered to the back by security, before she and Squeeky can say much more. Rating B- ****** Jason Azaria is now by the lottery box, when Enforcer Roberts comes out for his pick. He takes a quick look at his opponent, and laughs. Jason announces that it will now be Enforcer Roberts facing off with Liberty. Rating B ****** Liberty is backstage, and he is furious that Enforcer clearly is treating him as an easy matchup. He tells Enforcer that no one disrespects him and to bring his A-game to the ring right now. But soon Enforcer manages to turn the match on its head by locking in the RCT from nowhere. Liberty slowly inches to the ropes, and Enforcer is forced to break the hold. However the damage is done, and Liberty clearly is worried about locking up with Enforcer from then on, and when Roberts finds the RCT again, Liberty quickly taps out in pain. Winner: Enforcer Roberts Rating C+ ****** Enforcer starts celebrating. He turns round and sees Liberty still down on the mat. An evil look comes over his face and he shoves the referee out of the way, and re-applies the RCT. Liberty screams in agony until several officials manage to pry Enforcer off the semi conscious body of Liberty. Rating B+ ****** Next out is Brent Hill, who is interviewed by Queen Emily. Like his former partner, Human Arsenal, he is on his 2nd visit to KEY and he is looking forward to the tournament, especially as he is announced as the only seeded wildcard. Rating D ****** When he draws his opponent’s name, he shrugs and walks slowly to the ring. Emily announces that it will be Brent Hill v Alex Braun. Rating C ****** As Alex makes his way to the ring, Rob announces that the unbeaten Chris Rockwell will be another man in action next week. Ana sees the name, and a slight grin appears on her face, as she announces that JD selected a man who has already beaten him here in KEY, Art Reed. Rating D ****** Jason mentions that the fourth and final seed in action next week will be Scout. Rating B ****** Match 5: v JD Morgan (11) v Art Reed And the match is a bit of a letdown. It is nowhere near as good as their match a couple of months ago. It is a fairly slow paced affair, with both men happy to trade holds and counters, and this time, Morgan comes out on top, forcing Reed to tap out to the Cross Atlantic Stretch. Winner: JD Morgan Rating B- ****** The Guru is in charge of the name drawing for the main event of the evening. Jeremy Stone is the seeded man and he selects a name, showing no emotion as it is revealed to be Merle O’Curle. Rating B ****** The Guru asks Jeremy for a few words, but before he can say much, he is flattened by Runaway Train, who beats Jeremy to the floor. “Clearly Train’s mood hasn’t improved since last week’s loss against Bulldozer, and Jeremy is feeling the brunt of his anger,” comments Jason. Rating B- ****** Match 6: v Jeremy Stone (6) v Merle O’Curle Jeremy is clearly feeling the effects of Train’s assault as the match starts, and Merle takes advantage of that to dominate the opening minutes. But perhaps a little inexperience makes him try to wear Jeremy down some more with holds, where a more aggressive, physical approach may have caused the major upset. Jeremy slowly recovers, despite being on the defensive for much of the contest, and when given just one chance to go on the offence himself, he locks in the Stone Hold for a difficult victory. KEY Spreading The Word (on PPV), Tues Week 3 April 2007 At Wisconsin Gardens, Great Lakes. Attendance 9557 Backstage, Runaway Train appears. He sees Bulldozer talking to some backstage staff, and comes over to him and tells him that he was very lucky last week. Dozer disagrees and the two men go toe to toe. Nobu Tatsuko and Jeremy Stone come round the corner, discussing something, and are on hand to keep the two 300lb-ers apart. Rating B- ****** Train yells to Tatsuko that he wants Bulldozer in the ring again tonight, because he is going to put the youngster in his place. Tatsuko glances at Bulldozer who is eager to fight, and agrees to the match. Rating B- ****** Jason, Ana and Rob tell everyone that they have just been given the first matchup of the second round of the Best of the Best tournament. It will be 5th seed, Guide, going up against 10th seed Brent Hill, next week. They comment that both wrestlers are better known for their tag wrestling, so it will be interesting to see if they can go a long way in this singles event. Rating B- ****** And we have another match announced, as Nobu Tatsuko comes out and announces that his co-owner and 6th seed, Jeremy Stone, gets to face Mean Jean Cattley. Rating B- ****** And now onto tonight’s matches, as we cut to Rob on the stage. He is joined by Squeeky McClean, who randomly selects Raphael as his opponent, which, from his c0cky grin, he clearly he feels is an easy encounter for him. Rating B ****** Match 1: v Squeeky McClean (7) v Raphael Squeeky starts off very confidently, and he really controls the whole match. He does start to get a little annoyed by his inability to put Raphael away for the three count however, but eventually the Clean Out does do the trick. Winner: Squeeky McClean Rating B- ****** He grabs a mic and tells the crowd that he is coming for another piece of gold, and that even distractions like Alicia Strong will not stop him winning. Rating B ****** We cut backstage to Alicia who is watching Squeeky’s comments. She turns to the camera and says that she is good enough to compete with anyone, whether they are a woman or a man, and that sexist attitudes, like Squeeky’s, just make her more determined. Rating D ****** The three announcers talk about the next match that has been made for round 2 – it is Human Arsenal against Enforcer Roberts (seeded 4). Rating C+ ****** Match 2: v Alicia Strong v Merle O’Curle Alicia makes her KEY debut tonight against the Irishman, and she lives up to her promise of being able to compete with the men. She and Merle put on an excellent match together, before Alicia picks up a good debut win with the Angel Driver. Winner: Alicia Strong Rating B ****** As Alicia celebrates the win, out runs Squeeky who starts hammering away at the young woman. But Squeeky is quickly followed by Big Cat Brandon, who hauls him off Alicia, and then throws Squeeky over the top rope to the floor. Rating C+ ****** Big Cat’s manager, Jessie, grabs a microphone and tells Squeeky that her man made the save then for two reasons – firstly that his attitude to Alicia appals them, and that secondly, Big Cat is Squeeky’s opponent in round 2. It will be the 7th seeded McClean versus the 12th seeded Brandon. Rating B- ****** The announcers talk briefly about the already growing rivalry between probably the two biggest men on KEY’s roster, the veteran, Runaway Train and the youngster, the Bulldozer. “Was Bulldozer’s win last week a fluke, as Train claims?” questions Jason. “Or will Dozer repeat the dose right now?” adds Ana. Rating C+ ****** Match 3: v Runaway Train v Bulldozer As in last week’s match, this is never going to be anything but a slugfest, and it is very even, with neither man prepared to sell any moves that their opponent lands. They both land big shots, but it is Dozer who eventually begins to beat Train down, much to the crowd’s pleasure. Train tries to fight back, but even the distraction of the Guru on the outside cannot stop the powerful football star, and the Backdrop Driver finishes the match, as it did last week. Winner: Bulldozer Rating C ****** Bulldozer goes over to Train and offers to shake his hand, but Train rolls out of the ring and warns Bulldozer that it is not over between them. Rating C ****** Jason Azaria welcomes our next seed to pick one of the remaining three non-seeded wrestlers to face now. Chris Rockwell makes his selection – it is Steven Parker. Rating B ****** Jason asks the Rock for his comments. “I’ve got to beat five opponents to win this tournament – it doesn’t matter who they are, the Rock is just too damn good for anyone, and for once no-one can stop me from winning a title.” Rating B- ****** Runaway Train is seen backstage, destroying the place, throwing tables and chairs around, and generally showing his extreme anger at his second defeat in a row to Bulldozer. Parker uses all his tricks to try and avoid a fair matchup with the Rock, but eventually he cannot avoid a lock up and from there it is plain sailing for the seed, and he puts Parker away with the Rock Down. Winner: Chris Rockwell Rating B Notes: They don’t click ****** Jeremy Stone comes out and tells the Rock that his second round opponent will be JD Morgan, who Rockwell has previously beaten here in KEY. Rating C+ ****** Rob Goodey is now with Scout, who is seeded number 9. Scout draws his number, takes a look at the name, and smiles. Rob looks at it, and announces that Scout’s opponent will be Chris Caulfield. Rating B- ****** Rob asks Scout why he is so happy to face Chris. “Why do you think? I’ve beaten the old guy in DAVE, and I’ve beaten him here in KEY. He is no threat to me at all. Now get out of my way, and watch a real man at work.” Rating C+ ****** Match 5: v Scout (9) v Chris Caulfield Well, for a man who is not threat, Caulfield certainly takes the attack to Scout and has him seriously worried throughout the whole match. Scout just cannot settle into this match, thanks to some impressive variety in Chris’ offence, and it takes the appearance of Guide at ringside, where he trips Caulfield, to turn the match in his partner’s direction. Once on top, Scout refuses to relinquish control, using Guide’s assistance on several occasions behind the referee’s back, and he does pick up the expected victory with the Special Force in the end, even if the manner of the victory was far from routine. Winner: Scout Rating A* ****** Guide joins Scout in the ring. They violently eject the defeated Caulfield over the top rope to the floor and the tag champions celebrate Scout’s victory. Rating B- ****** Jeremy Stone now joins Tatsuko at the top of the ramp, and tells Nobu that HIS opponent in round 2 will be a man that HE is already familiar with as well – it will be Natsu Miyamae. “Tatsuko has already beaten Shimedzu in round 1, can he do the double over the Rebellion in round 2?” asks Rob. Rating B- ****** Jessie comes out to the stage to oversee the totally un-necessary drawing of the last unseeded name, by Angry Gilmore. These two men have battled before here in KEY, with Angry coming out on top, and Shooter is determined to cause a huge upset right now. He tries to wear Angry down using his amateur skills, and keeps the World Champion on the defensive for long periods. But Angry is too good to be dominated for an entire match, and he fights back, and after a long brutal match, he finds the strength to hit Shooter Sean with the Anger Management for the win. Winner: Angry Gilmore Rating A* Notes: They have great chemistry. KEY Spreading The Word (on PPV), Tues Week 4 April 2007 At Evanovich Riverside, Tri State. Attendance 10000 (Sold Out!) The Guru has cornered Angry Gilmore and taunts him about being the curtain jerker tonight against Bulldozer. Angry tells him to keep his smart-ass comments to himself if he doesn’t want Angry’s fist rammed down his throat. He then proceeds to remind the Guru that his star client, Runaway Train has already suffered two losses to Bulldozer. “But Dozer, those wins don’t mean anything tonight. I may be very happy that you beat this clown’s client, but don’t think that you will have things your own way tonight.” Rating C ****** Match 1: v Angry Gilmore (2) v Bulldozer Bulldozer has a big size advantage, and he uses his power to dominate the early going, throwing Angry around like a rag doll. But when he misses a big splash into the corner, Angry quickly turns the match into a ground based one, negating his young opponent’s size and strength. He works on the legs of the Bulldozer, and locks in a figure four and a sharpshooter to further damage the big man. Dozer powers his way back into an advantage, but out of the crowd comes Runaway Train, who nails Bulldozer from behind, knocking him out through the ropes. He throws Angry out of the ring as well, and goes after Dozer some more while the referee checks on Gilmore. The damage already done by Angry to Bulldozer, means he is a little slow and cannot avoid a couple of powerful chair shots from Train, who rolls Dozer back into the ring. Angry is a little confused by everything that just occurred, but has the presence of mind to snap off the Anger Management to become the first man into the quarter finals. Winner: Angry Gilmore Rating B ****** Train re-enters the ring, and this time he attacks Angry, attempting the Train Wreck on the champ, but Bulldozer has recovered sufficiently to pull him away. The three men exchange blows for a couple of minutes, until swarms of security pull them apart. Rating C+ ****** The cameras cut backstage where Big Cat Brandon is being tended by the medics. Apparently he was attacked from behind but doesn’t know who attacked him, although he is convinced it was a revenge attack by Squeeky McClean, who he faces later on. Rating B- ****** Dawn the Cheerleader interviews Jeremy Stone about his match with Mean Jean Cattley tonight. “Mean Jean is a good young fighter, but he isn’t in my class yet. MAW is hardly North of the Border now, is it? And so the champion of MAW is not my equal.” Rating C+ ****** Match 2: v Jeremy Stone (6) v Mean Jean Cattley Cattley comes out and is clearly angered by Jeremy’s words. His determination is obvious and he doesn’t give an inch to Jeremy, matching him in every department, leading the commentators to wonder if this might be another major shock tonight. The match spills outside and into the crowd. A young man in a hoody claps Mean Jean on the shoulder to wish him well. He wants to shake Mean Jean’s hand, since Jeremy is down on the ground. Mean Jean agrees to shake the fan’s hand, but is then surprised as the man pulls him into a vicious DDT on the concrete, before pulling back his top to reveal that it is Steven Parker. Jeremy gets to his feet, sees Mean Jean down, and despite realising that something untoward has happened, he has the presence of mind to roll the Mean Machine back into the ring and make the pinfall. Winner: Jeremy Stone Rating A* ****** Parker backs up the ramp, laughing at Mean Jean’s loss. Cattley, when he realises that it was Parker who cost him the match, challenges the younger man to face him. Parker ignores the challenge. She tells the crowd that her men are going to make a two pronged assault on this title and that when they have both advanced to the final, they will be able to claim all the gold here in KEY. Rating C+ ****** Match 3: v Scout (9) v Akinori Kwakami There is a little bit of history involved in this match, as their respective tag teams have been battling recently. The two men put on a fantastic match as expected, and although Kwakami looks very dangerous in spells, it is clear throughout that Scout is the better wrestler, and he does prove this as he wins, via the Special Force. Winner: Scout Rating A* ****** As Scout goes to the back, Guide comes to the ring for his match. Guide claps Scout on the back and congratulates him on his win. Scout wishes Guide the best of luck, and tells him to go out and prove that Emily’s words were true. Rating B ****** But before that match, we cut to Runaway Train who issues a challenge to Bulldozer to once again face him. Bulldozer is seen in another part of the building. He tells Train that it has got personal now, and that he will be glad to go 3-0 against him later in the week at Best of the Best. Rating C ****** The three announcers talk briefly about the next match, which will feature Guide against Brent Hill. Although both are primarily tag wrestlers, they say, they are both exceptionally talented individual wrestlers and they expect it to be a fascinating match. There aren’t even any chemistry issues to cause such a poor performance, and given that I’d allowed them plenty of time to put on a show, it drags a lot. Less said the better really – Guide picks up the win, after Scout comes out and helps him to double team Brent whenever possible, especially when Brent looked to be taking control. Winner: Guide Rating C ****** Guide and Scout celebrate their victories in the ring. Rating B ****** But their joy is short-lived as Nobuatsu Tatsuko comes out and informs them that the draw for the quarter finals has been done, and that the first confirmed match at Best of the Best will pit Guide against….. his tag partner, Scout! The New Wave are furious at Tatsuko, but soon they start looking at each other as opponents, rather than partners. They leave together but it is clearly not as friendly as usual. Rating B+ ****** Chris Rockwell comes to the ring and talks up his match against JD Morgan tonight, saying that this tournament is his stepping stone to greater things, and that JD is just a small bump in his road to glory on Friday night. Rating C+ ****** Match 5: v Chris Rockwell (8) v JD Morgan (11) Well apart from the one obvious exception, the crowd are really getting some wonderful entertainment tonight, and these two are no exception. A superb match, which is pretty even throughout, but it is the arrogant Rock who advances after hitting the Rock Down on JD Morgan for the win. Winner: Chris Rockwell Rating A* ****** The Rock starts celebrating, but then pauses, and in a somewhat unusual fashion (for him) he goes over to JD Morgan and offers him a handshake in respect of a great match. JD is slightly wary, but does eventually shake the Rock’s hand. Rating B- ****** Squeeky McClean comes out and takes the mic. He addresses Big Cat Brandon, and says, rather sarcastically, that he hopes that he is OK to face him tonight, and that he hopes that whoever inflicted the beating on Brandon earlier is found and punished for his despicable cowardly actions. The sly grin on his face clearly indicates to everyone that he was almost certainly behind that attack. Rating B ****** Match 6: v Squeeky McClean (7) v Big Cat Brandon (12) Big Cat is clearly not at 100% in this match, thanks to the beating earlier, but given that he too believes that Squeeky was behind the attack, he gives it his all, and powers his way through Squeeky early on. Squeeky uses his experience to avoid contact as much as possible, leading Brandon a merry dance in and out of the ring whenever possible, and he takes charge with these tactics. Both men get periods of control from then on, and it is anyone’s match, when out of nowhere, Squeeky hits the Stain Removal to put Big Cat down. Arsenal hits various suplexes, but it is the appearance of Runaway Train at ringside that proves decisive, and when Enforcer locks in the RCT, Arsenal is forced to tap out, moving Enforcer through to the Best of the Best PPV. The two Japanese wrestlers put on a very stiff match, which goes down really well with the crowd. Predictably, given their tag battles recently, this match quickly descends into a four-man brawl, as Shimedzu and Kwakami join in, but the referee gives them a lot of license in order to get a winner. Miyamae and Tatsuko battle on in the ring as Kwakami keeps Shimedzu occupied, and Tatsuko shows why he has been so dominant everywhere that he fights, as he finishes Miyamae with his destructive Tatsuko Driller. KEY Best of the Best PPV, Fri Week 4 April 2007 At Plum Park, Tri State. Attendance 8806 Jessie is with Angry Gilmore backstage. She asks for his thoughts on once again having to face Squeeky McClean tonight. Angry says that he is afraid of no one and that Squeeky is going down. Rating B ****** Elsewhere we cut to an assault that is in progress. Runaway Train, Enforcer Roberts and Squeeky are systematically destroying the Bulldozer, leaving him bleeding and semi conscious. Rating B- ****** As the three heels finish the attack, Dawn the Cheerleader collars Squeeky and asks if he has anything to say to Angry. “Yes I do. Angry – you just saw what we did to Bulldozer. The same is going to happen to you in the ring now.” Rating B ****** Match 1: v Angry Gilmore (2) v Squeeky McClean (7) Well this is the way to start a show, with a match that headlined last month’s PPV, and these two don’t fail to deliver, showing why they are two of the cornerstones of the company so far. It is very even throughout, and it comes down to one moment of inspiration from Angry, as he reverses Squeeky’s attempt at his Stain Removal into the Anger Management to advance forward to the first semi final later on tonight. Winner: Angry Gilmore Rating A* ****** Runaway Train is in the ring. He laughs at Bulldozer and tells him that if he still wants to face Train tonight after his earlier beating, then it will be under street fight rules. Rating B+ ****** Match 2: v Runaway Train v Bulldozer Bulldozer is game for the street fight, despite his cuts and bruises, and he is still a force to be reckoned with. He matches up with Train very evenly tonight, and it is only the further interference from Enforcer Roberts that swings this match in Train’s favour. Train hits the Train Wreck on Bulldozer, to get a morale-boosting win over his young rival. Winner: Runaway Train Rating C+ ****** Jason Azaria catches up with the New Wave backstage. He asks them how they feel about facing each other tonight in singles action, and whether that will cause any problems with their tag team. “Of course not, we are best friends, as well as partners, and we have got each other’s backs. This match that we have been forced into is totally separate, and may the best New Wave-er win,” snaps Scout. Guide just stares intensely at the camera and refuses to talk. Rating B ****** Match 3: v Scout (9) v Guide (5) It is a slow start to the match, with both men clearly knowing everything about their opponent’s style and moves. It soon springs into life though, when Scout slaps Guide across the face, and from then on, it is every man for himself. No punches are pulled and both men are breathing heavily when Scout decides that he has had enough of playing fair, and he low blows his partner, before locking in the Special Force for the win. Winner: Scout Rating A ****** Scout celebrates the win, while Guide looks on angrily. Scout comes over to Guide, pulls him to his feet and tries to shake his hand, but Guide is not happy and shoves Scout away. Rating B+ ****** Chris Rockwell is backstage, and he is slightly less c0cky this week, as he talks about his quarter final against Nobu Tatsuko. He says how much he respects the Japanese star as a wrestler, but that it is his destiny to win this whole tournament and move into World Title contention very soon. Rating B+ ****** Match 4: v Nobu Tatsuko (3) v Chris Rockwell (8) Despite Tatsuko being off his game tonight, this match really delivered. Rockwell and Tatsuko fought hard and fairly throughout, but all hell broke loose when the Rebellion appeared from the crowd. They both attacked Tatsuko at first, but when Rockwell went to his opponent’s aid, they switched their attention to him as well. After several minutes of the four men brawling on the outside, despite the referee’s efforts to get the two legal men back into the ring, the ref gave up and called the match as a draw. “How will this affect the tournament now?” asks Ana. Winner: No one (Draw) Rating A* ****** Backstage and we see the prone figure of Angry Gilmore. He has apparently been assaulted and badly beaten by an unknown assailant. Rating B+ ****** Jeremy Stone is making his way to the ring for his match, when his opponent, Enforcer Roberts tries to attack him. Jeremy quickly turns the tables, and escapes the illegal attack. Rating B+ ****** Match 5: v Jeremy Stone (6) v Enforcer Roberts (4) Enforcer chases Jeremy to the ring and they start immediately. The initial brawl soon changes to a more methodical, technical match, as you would expect from these two wrestlers. However, with the appearance of Runaway Train at ringside, Jeremy appears to be in grave danger. As Enforcer and Train start taking Jeremy apart, Bulldozer comes down to even the numbers, despite his injuries, and this causes Train to have to concentrate his efforts on the youngster. They brawl up the ramp to the back, leaving Jeremy and Enforcer to continue in the ring. Both men try to apply their devastating submission holds, and the first to succeed properly is Jeremy, who moves through into the next round. Winner: Jeremy Stone Rating A ****** Queen Emily is with her clients, Scout and Guide, and she is clearly having problems getting Guide back on the same page as Scout. Eventually she gives up, and goes to join Scout before his semi final against Angry Gilmore. Rating C ****** The announcers have just been informed that due to the draw between Tatsuko and Rockwell, Jeremy Stone has a bye into the final. “But who will his opponent be – Angry Gilmore or Scout?” Rating B- ****** Guide appears at the entrance ramp. He comes down to ringside, hops over the guardrail and throws a man out of his seat at ringside. He is ready to watch the semi final involving his partner, Scout. Rating B ****** Match 6: v Scout (9) v Angry Gilmore (2) The announcers question whether it was Scout who assaulted Angry earlier, softening him up for this match, and it is clear from the outset that Angry is not fully fit. Scout takes advantage of this throughout and despite Angry’s best efforts, he is on the defensive for much of the time. He seems to draw on the cheers of the crowd though and mounts a fight back late on, but it is all in vain as he falls victim to the Special Force. Winner: Scout Rating A ****** Scout celebrates in the ring. He sees Guide at ringside, and beckons his partner into the ring to celebrate with him, but Guide shakes his head, clearly telling Scout that he is still not happy about the manner of his defeat to Scout earlier. Rating A ****** Dawn the Cheerleader is with Jeremy Stone, who addresses his next opponent. “Scout – you may have won four matches in this tournament, but how many of them have been clean victories? There is always an angle there somewhere, whether it is cheating before the match to disable your opponent, or low blowing them halfway through. Well you won’t beat me that way – I’ve been around this business for far too long to fall for any of your cheap tricks, so if you want to win, then you are going to have to outwrestle me – and not many people have ever done that.” Rating B ****** Jessie has caught up with Scout as well. He simply states that a win is a win, and that he will add yet another one in a few minutes time. He also reminds Jeremy that he is already a titleholder here in KEY – and what exactly has Jeremy won? Rating B ****** We cut back to ringside, and see that Guide is still there, ready to watch all the action. “Will Guide’s presence affect the match in any way?” asks Ana. “It could work either way – he might help his partner, or he might want to get revenge on Scout for that low blow earlier,” suggests Jason. Rating B ****** Match 7: v Jeremy Stone (6) v Scout (9) (for the Best of the Best Tournament Title) An excellent way to end a great evening, as these two men do battle. Despite two earlier matches, Scout seems capable of withstanding everything that Jeremy throws at him, while Jeremy has a counter for all of Scout’s moves. Both men keep an eye on Guide throughout, but he never moves from his seat, as he watches impassively. Both men get several near falls apiece, but the commentators are of the opinion that a pinfall will not decide this title match, given that both men normally favour their submission finishers. And so it proves. Jeremy is the first to lock in the Stone Hold, and Scout screams in agony as the ref asks if he wants to submit. But he hangs on and inches his way to the ropes to break the hold. This seems to unsettle Jeremy slightly, not expecting anyone to survive the Stone Hold, and with him slightly distracted, Scout gains momentum and he locks in the Special Force. Jeremy also inches towards the ropes, but Scout pulls him back to the centre of the ring and re-applies the hold, forcing Jeremy to finally concede defeat. Winner (of the Best of the Best Title): Scout Rating A* ****** Scout celebrates the win. He turns round and sees Jeremy applauding his performance and the two men shake hands, before Jeremy gallantly presents Scout with the Best of the Best trophy. Rating B+ ****** Scout climbs to the top rope and poses for the crowd with his trophy. He glances occasionally at Guide at ringside, who still shows no emotion on his face, and doesn’t join in the celebration. Rating B+ OVERALL RATING = B+ PPV Buy Rate = 0.14 Unsurprisingly, Angry Gilmore, and especially Scout report that they are very fatigued after the show. I'll also have to re-think using Plum Park as a venue – I get a bigger crowd at the smaller Evanovich Riverside. As we move into May, the TV networks are scheduling again – can I get a TV show this time around? Thanks to Chris Caulfield and theunholyicon for their predictions. Both got 4 out of the (actual) 7 matches right, but given that I had the draw involved, there wasn't too much chance to predict that! Tune in for the aftermath in the next edition of Spreading the Word, which will have to wait till the end of the week, since I'm now away for a few days.

[OOC - Well so much for my "away for just a few days" - but I'm back now and so....on with the show!] KEY Spreading The Word (on PPV), Tues Week 1 May 2007 At Wisconsin Gardens, Great Lakes. Attendance 10000 (Sold Out!) Scout comes out to the ring with his Best of the Best trophy. He tells the crowd that he was a worthy winner, defeating all-comers, and that with his guaranteed title shots, he is going to become the new KEY World champion, by beating Angry Gilmore once again, just like he did in the tournament semi final. He is interrupted by his tag partner, Guide, who tells Scout that not only did he cheat to beat Guide, but he then had Angry beaten up backstage prior to their match, and that all these things are hardly the actions of a potential world singles champion, and that Scout should remember what is really important to them – that the New Wave continue to defend their tag titles against everyone. Scout asks Guide why he has suddenly developed scruples, since he never had a problem before with any of the tactics that they used to win their tag matches. The two men square up to each other and only the appearance of several security guards stops them from coming to blows. Rating B ****** Match 1: v Mean Jean Cattley v Super Joshuya An excellent opening match, as Cattley continues his fine form in the midcard. His only losses here in KEY have come against the stars of the promotion, and here, although Super Joshuya gives it his all, Cattley shows why he may well be moving up the card, and challenging for titles soon. He wins with the Mood Swing. Winner: Mean Jean Cattley Rating B+ ****** Scout enters Jeremy Stone’s office and demands that he can use the first of his guaranteed title shots to challenge Angry Gilmore for the World Title at the Everything Changes PPV at the end of May. Jeremy refuses to grant this request, telling him that as one of the tag champions, he must defend those titles at the PPV, since the titles weren’t defended at all last month thanks to the tournament. Scout is not impressed and storms out. Rating B+ ****** Backstage, Bulldozer is preparing for his match tonight, when Runaway Train attacks him yet again. This time though, Bulldozer manages to fight him off. Rating C ****** A short video airs, highlighting the battles that have been raging over the previous months in the tag division. It announces that there will be a four-way tag match tonight, to determine who gets the next shot at the titles. The teams involved will be Team Pride, the Rebellion and the Extreme. The fourth team will be the tag champions, the New Wave, since they are unlikely to keep their noses out of the match anyway. If the champs win, then they get to choose their next challengers themselves. Rating C+ ****** Match 2: v Bulldozer v Raphael Dozer seems totally unaffected by his run-in with Runaway Train just now, as he proceeds to completely dismantle Raphael, ending things with an Inverted Piledriver. Winner: Bulldozer Rating C ****** Bulldozer grabs a mic and tells Train that since he will not leave him alone, he is challenging the older man to keep fighting him – in a best of seven series. Runaway Train appears at the top of the ramp and accepts the offer. Rating B- ****** Chris Rockwell is seen arriving backstage. Nobu Tatsuko comes over to him and congratulates him on the great match that they had in the Best of the Best event, and tells him that he wishes they could have finished the match without any interference from the Rebellion. Chris agrees – and says that the matter is not finished with the Rebellion. Rating B+ ****** As Chris walks away, Guide appears from the shadows to talk to Tatsuko. He reminds Nobu that he beat Angry Gilmore in singles action a couple of months ago, and that this should have entitled him to a proper World title shot. Nobu disagrees, reminding Guide that he needed the interference of Scout, Squeeky McClean and Runaway Train to get the job done that night. Guide comes a little closer and asks if they can make some kind of arrangement to make this match happen. He hints that if Nobu does help him out then he will be able to do Nobu a favour in the near future. “In fact – keep that in mind for our match in a minute,” says Guide before sloping off again. Scout follows this up by pinning Big Cat, who continues his shocking record against Scout. Scout and Guide work well together as always, despite their tension earlier, as they cut the ring in half and work over Kwakami. Eventually Kwakami gets the tag to Tatsuko and he cleans house. He and Scout then battle each other in the best section of the match, but then Scout manages to get the tag to Guide. Guide comes in, and starts talking to Tatsuko, asking him if he remembers their conversation. He then lies down on the mat and allows a surprised Tatsuko to pin him without any resistance. “What’s going on there?” asks Jason. “It looks like he has just done Tatsuko the favour that he mentioned,” replies Rob. The two don’t seem to click and they can’t really get the crowd into the match, which follows the usual 'monster overpowering the smaller wrestler, who eventually makes a shocking comeback for the win' formula. Winner: Alicia Strong Rating C+ Notes: They don’t click. Squeeky comes out and says that she hasn’t proved anything yet – she’s had exactly two wins – so what? He tells Alicia that she must get some more wins under her belt before he would even consider her as a viable challenger.
