After thoughts from the show. Felt it was a solid night. Over all went real well. Couple of my angles didnt do as well as I hoped but they didnt tank either. Three matches stood out as show stealers. Wahoo and Jos for one. These two seem to have great chemistry. Even if they couldt sell a glass of water in the desert. Second match scored a A+. The match for the United States Championship. Four great workers in one match. All four men worked with one another and put on one hell of the match. And the last one of course was the Main Event. It scored a A+ as well. Stayed up all night and did some accounting. After the final tally from the gate receipts came in. Retags in Morton who scores the pin fall. Winners of the match Rock N Roll Express. After the match the Moondogs slowly retreat to the back as the Rock n Roll Express stays behind and celebrate in the ring.[/CENTER] TS: Rock n Rollers finally pick up a win against the Moondogs ladies and gentlemen. BC: These two teams have been skirmishing off and on now for a few weeks. Things look like they might be simmering now. Piper comes running down with a chair of his own and makes the save. Piper and Flair exchange a very long and hateful look at each other as the night draws to a close.[/CENTER]

Feedback was decent but hardly spectacular. Notable matches include Paul Orndorff retains the TV Title against Road Warrior Hawk. Ole Anderson retains the National Heavyweight Championship against the Iron Sheik. Mid Southern Wrestling held an event in Fl last night. It drew around 1,000 fans. Feedback was excellent and it seemed like the show went down well. Notable matches include Matt Borne retaining his TV Title against Jim Duggan. Junkyard Dog retains his North American Heavyweight Championship against Nikolai Volkoff. WWF was in PR last night and drew about 930 fans. Feedback was decent but hardly spectacular. Don Muraco defended his Intercontinental Title against Bob Backlund.[/CENTER] Hans Schmidt is set to retire at the end of the month. He is said to be looking forward to healing his body and is possibly looking to stay in the industry in a backstage role. [CENTER] Mid Atlantic Championship wrestling have announced they have signed Randy Mulkey to a pay per appearance contract. They have also announced that they are in negotiations to renewing their TV show with with WTPS. [QUOTE]News for Tuesday week 1 of Febuary[/QUOTE][/CENTER] Jerry Lawler turns down contract offer from AWA. Calls made to the AWA were not returned but an inside source reports that they are far from happy with this development. The USA Network has cancelled Southwestern Championship Wrestling from its TV schedule due to its constant low ratings. The promotion is said to be reeling from the news and as of this time it is unclear what their next move will be.

After the match One Man Gang comes down and starts to berate Kininski. Shoving him several times. Oliver Humperdink gets in between the two and finally calms One Man Gang down. [/CENTER] BC: There appears to be trouble in the House of Humperdink. GS: Indeed, but how about the strong performance of Jerry Brisco? He looked crisp and clean tonight didn't he? TS: Yes he did. But he as always looked good. He has got to be one of the greatest technical wrestlers this sport has ever seen. GS: I wouldn't go that far Tony but he ranks up there in the elite level. [CENTER][QUOTE] You know what drives me nuts? I win my match with Koloff. He has this 1,000 dollar check for anybody who beats him they get. I get this check and go to the bank and try and cash it. Managed to be a decent match. Rotundo wins it however with a airplane spin. After the match Ivan Koloff ran into the ring and tries to jump Rotundo. Mike seen him thru the corner of his eyes and bails out before Ivan can get him. Ivan is beside himself and throws a temper tantrum in the ring. All Bugsy in the early part. Gary Hart bought some time for his man as he distracted Bugsy. Kabuki took over from that point on. The fans were clearly behind Bugsy and he starts to battle back. Punching Kabuki. Kabuki answers with a chop. Back and forth they go. Bugsy starts to get the upper hand when Gary Hart distracts the Referree. Kabuki spits a green mist onto Bugsy. DOWN HE GOES. Kabuki covers and picks up the win. Winner and still Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion. The Great Kabuki. [QUOTE] After the match both of the Funk brothers come to ringside. Gary Hart and The Great Kabuki remain in the ring. Kabuki bows to the Funks. The Funks shake hands with Gary Hart. And Terry grabs for a microphone. Eaton goes after him making a rookie mistake. Roberts catches him with a short armed clotheline. And its pretty much Jake after that point. Winner and still NWA TV Champ. Jake Roberts. After show thoughts. Thought I would try and run a few more angles. Thought it would add some spice to the show. After walking around the crowd and talking to the fans I came to the conclusion, stop it. OK the people have spoken. Good show but the one complaint I was hearing was more wrestling less talking. Made money over all which is a plus but will it effect the gates the next time I'm in town? Time will tell. Came out of the show with no major injuries. Reminds me, I should call Koko B Ware and make sure he is doing better. I feel even if he is only a independent worker I should pay for something since he got hurt during my show. Something besides hospital fees,etc. Talked with Mr. Turner personally last week and he agreed to renew my TV contract. But He is complaining that perhaps I should change the name to something more global sounding. I responded I would consider such a move but would like to consolidate my product more as of this time. He sounded a little disappointed but agreed to it this time but it may effect the decision to renew for next contract.

Some people live for Sunday football. I live for board meeting.(NOT) I start the meeting with myself, a few lawyers and accountants, and George Scott. We start to go over a few items. What to do with merchandise. Same schedule we have been using. Plus’s and minus’s for the accountants to make them happy. George has been saying that he wished we had more of a staff. Its not that he can’t handle the work he explains, but so he can be more efficient and timely with what he has available. I tell him I was thinking the same thing. Even had a few names for him. I have always felt it was better to promote from with an organization if possible than get new people brought in. I throw out the names of Paul Jones and Dory Funk JR to the mix. George has his concerns on both as they are currently working wrestlers. He has seen to many times where a big star wrestler is on a booking team, and then starts developing power struggles back stage. I agree and say I have already talked to Paul and Dory. Paul is of the understanding he knows the area well. He has played both Heel and Face many a times. And he could enhance his position with the company by joining the booking staff. With one condition. That being he can never hold another major title with us again. But he shouldn’t worry about that as he has a chance to participate and still get TV time in another way. Dory on the other hand still wants to be active. And I have a few storyline angles for him anyway to make the same offer. Dory I want to be an advisor of sorts with us. He has is reservations as he doesn’t want to be a pawn spying on other organizations. I tell hem what he does in Japan is of no concern to me. I sell him on the idea he is a valuable asset to the company and is very much respected back stage. He knows as well as I do wrestling don’t last forever and he could be useful in other means. I advise the current staff to start coming up with ideas on possibly changing our name to sound more global. This will not happen anytime soon. But why wait till the last minute. It could be useful to use when our TV Contract is up. This sent shockwaves at first as they thought I was talking about the demise of our beloved Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling. The next order of business I bring in the story writers, referees, and the announce crew. Why the referees and announce crew? Who better to orchestrate the telling of the story than the narrators themselves? I tell the crew that they all deserve a big pat on the back as they have adjusted well in my eyes to the shake up of the buyout. All of them will remain with me as long as wish to remain. I tell them it was my fault on the last show for making a few radical changes that were well designed I felt but were not received well. That was my bad, not theirs. Keep up the current storylines I advise. I have a few ideas on a few people on our roster I want to run by you all. As I throw a folder with general ideas on the table. Let’s remember here guys. Our fans expect to see good wrestling first and foremost. They demand that our product reflect that. The angles and storylines should be the icing. But if the cake sucks no amount of icing is going to make it better. Now let’s get to work on these ideas.

We are coming to you from Baton Rouge tonight. And we have a great main event. Jerry Brisco battles Ric Flair for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. And now I am being told Mr Cooper has a interview set up with the Rock N Roll Express. [CENTER][QUOTE] Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson work their way to the interview area. When out of no where Jimmy Hart and the Moondogs jump them. Beating the R N R Express with the big soup bones the Moondogs usually carry with them. Mr Cooper tries to stop them. Finally help arrives in the form of security and other officials. [/QUOTE][/CENTER] BC: Something has to be done with the Moondogs ladies and gentlemen. If Jimmy Hart cant control them maybe they should be suspended. TS: I would agree Bob. Hold on, Our commissioner is walking this way. MC: I will not take the actions of the Moondogs and one, Jimmy Hart lightly. Maybe I have been a bit lax-ed and decided to let the lunatics run the asylum. Well no more. Jimmy Hart and the Moondogs. One Man Gang controls most of the match but Sugar turns the tables on Gang with a missed splash. Kelly Kininski comes running down with a chair as Sir Oliver Humberdink distracts the Ref. Gang comes to his senses and ties up Gang with a full nelson. Kininski uses the chair, CRACK, O no. Sugar ducks out at the last minute. Gang is down. A Cover, 1, 2, and a 3. Winner of the match. Flair tells Piper to save the pleasantries because if Piper wanted his attention, he is here looking at him face to face so say whatever it is and be done with it or he is out of this 2cent show. Piper starts to retort back and Flair smacks him right across the face. You can see the rage building in Piper's face. He smacks Flair back. Flair is shocked. How dare Piper embarrass him. So he smacks Piper right back. Thats it, Piper is done with this, he goes nose to nose with Flair. Both Flair and Piper start pummeling each other. Piper gets the upper hand and beats Flair down. The Assassin comes from around the corner and nails Piper with a chair shot. Piper goes down. Flair gets up grabs his championship belt and the microphone. Piper, you are worthless. This show is worthless. And tonight you can say you danced with the devil in the pale moon light. Flair leaves with the Assassin glaring at his prey. But in the end Steamboat uses his quickness and agility to pick up the win with a flying body cross. Winner of the match Rick Steamboat. [/CENTER] TS: A great win for the former World Tag champ tonight. BC: Slater looked good out there too but it was Steamboat's quickness that earned him the win tonight. Brisco can match Flair hold for hold. Brisco was able to gain a small advantage on Flair. Flair slips out of the ring to get a breather. Brisco tries to go after him but the referee stops him so he can start counting. This is what Flair was looking for. Brisco got distracted by the ref as Flair grabs his legs and pulls him to the corner. Flair slings Brisco's leg into the steel post. Not once, but three times. Flair is totally in command now as Brisco can barely stand on his leg now. A figure four leg lock and its all over. Winner and still NWA World Champion, Ric Flair. [/CENTER]

Gordon Solie: I am also pleased to announce with the success of last months super card “Only Time” We will be bringing you another this month. Elevation is scheduled to take place at the end of the month. So make your plans now as it is sure to be a real hum dinger. Humperdink directed him to tag in Kininski. Gang was reluctant to but did as his manger said. And that’s where it fell apart. Morton who was isolated for most of the match makes a hot tag to Robert Gibson and he in turn cleans house. [QUOTE] After the match is over Gang starts to berate Kininski. High Fiveing the fans and thanking them for coming. Kabuki comes down demonstrating his use of the num chuks. Orton tries to keep the pace fast with single leg take downs and drop toe holds. Kabuki showcases his martial arts expertise. Orton gains several near falls and this frustrates Kabuki. O look out! Kabuki sprays Orton with a green mist. The Ref calls for the bell. Winner Bob Orton JR by DQ. As a result of the DQ Kabuki remains the reigning Mid Atlantic Heavyweight Champion.[/CENTER] Gordon Solie: What a despicable way to hold onto your title. Orton was clearly gaining the advantage. Bob Caudle: Gary Hart obviously has a game plan to keep the title of his oriental assassin. Tony Schiavone: Orton looked like he was well on his way to becoming the new Champion tonight. Only to be robbed at the last minute. Bob Caudle: Orton has to be still considered a contender for Kabuki’s belt. Gordon Solie: I would agree sir. Speaking of contenders we have a new number #1 contender for Greg “The Hammer” Valentine’s United States Championship. Let’s take a look on who it is and how he won that right. Sloppy match this one was. This is a war. Piper doesn’t back down from anything and the Assassin mixes it up with the best of them. The end saw Piper with the upper hand as Ric Flair makes his way to the ring. Flair tries to distract Piper. Piper and Flair lock eye contact as the Assassin sneaks up on Piper. Piper turns around and dodges a clothesline. Piper gives the Assassin an eye poke and spins him around. Piper locks on a sleeper hold keeping the Assassin in-between himself and Flair. Flair is pounding the mat trying to get the Assassin to fight back. But it ain’t happening. Piper wins on submission from the sleeper hold. Piper looks at Flair as Flair walks backwards to the backstage area. He ain’t no Flair. Remember that Piper. Piper glares at Flair and points his fingers at him.[/CENTER] Gordon Solie: Piper looks fired up out there tonight folks. What a great win for him tonight. Bob Caudle: Maybe the Assassin should think on what he is doing the next time. Tony Schiavone: You know folks we still have received word what the special announcement is concerning the Funk’s. Bob Caudle: Correct Tony. It is in the reporter’s eyes that the Funks should be punished somehow for their cowardly attack on Rick Harris last week. Gordon Solie: For those who don’t remember lets take a quick look at what had happened. [QUOTE]Video replay of the attack by Funk brothers on Rick Harris. Mike Cooper: Thank you Gordon. I have a couple of announcements here so I’ll try and be brief. First off Rick Harris has been released and his prognosis is good. He suffered severe contusions and abrasions to go along with a minor concussion. Now for the next announcement, I’ll require Terry and Dory Funk to be present. Come on down here boys. No Response. I said get down here now because I know you’re in the building. With that the Funks take there time in getting to the interview table. Both Terry and Dory gloat about the damage they caused. They turn to each other and laugh. Mike Cooper: I’m glad you find this funny. You know I suspended Jimmy Hart and the Moondogs for a week for something far less worse than what you boys did. But I only suspended them because it is of my opinion that was the best way to teach them. You boys don’t care. You boys I have to handle differently. Terry Funk: (grabs me by the shirt) You call us boys one more time and I’ll show you who the boy is around here. Mike Cooper: If you don’t get your hands off of me right now I’ll fire you and sue for your ranch. Now get your hands off of me now. (Terry complies but slowly, he freshens up my shirt with a sly smile) Mike Cooper: Now as I have said. I feel I have to go a different route with you two. I hope you brought your gear with you tonight. Because you’re going to need them. Tonight you two are facing, A Couple of Brothers themselves. Former champions themselves to be exact. Tonight you face the Brisco’s for the straps. The Terry and Dory start to protest and plead their case. I make a motion no. My mind is made up. The Briscos make their way down to ringside as I tell the Funks better get in the ring because if you get counted out your losing them belts. This infuriates the Funks as they climb into the ring. Gordon Solie: Wow. I think this is the best way to handle the Funks. And lets hear it for our commissioner. Bob Caudle: We could very well have new Tag Team Champions tonight guys. Tony Schiavone: This wont sit well with the Funks. And how prepared were they in wrestling tonight. Let along with the caliber team like the Brisco’s . [CENTER] [SIZE="4"]vs[/SIZE] The Funk Brothers battle the Brisco Brothers for the NWA World Tag Team Championship. The Brisco’s came to play tonight. Of course it didn’t help with the impromtu match for the Funks. Jack and Jerry make constistant quick tags Isolatling Terry Funk from his brother. Dory tries several times to enter but only to be pushed back by referre Tommy Young. The Briscos put on a clinic out there tonight ladies and gentlemen. Jack made a simple mistake. As he whipped Terry into the ropes he dropped down to early and Funk seen what he was trying to do and kicked Jack right in the head. He then tagged Dory in. Dory started to work over Jack. Jerry tried to intervene but Terry nails him with a clothesline that sends both men to the floor. Dory then applies the Funk spinning toe hold. It was over then as Jack Brisco taps out. These two eventually tangled with Garvin picking up a win. What a wild end to the show. Wahoo/Rich/Leduc/ and Sawyer got the biggest pop of the night. What a way to end the night.
