Hello, welcome to my UFC dynasty page. What you first must know: I have taken liberties. I am using the communities "Real World Mod". We are starting at the conclusion of UFC 79, which a fairly accurate card. I hope you enjoy! UFC Presents: UFC 79 The Fight Card: UFC Welterweight Title Match: (c) Matt Serra vs. Georges St. Pierre Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlai Silva Lyoto Machida vs. Rameau Sokoudjou Rich Clementi vs. Melvin Guillard Corey Hill vs. Kenny Florian ---------------- Corey Hill (0-0) vs. Kenny Florian (7-3) Round 1 Hill leads with the right hand to set up a low kick, Florian deals with it well. They clinch, but only for a few seconds before it gets broken. Both throw stiff jabs at the same time, neither connects properly. Back to the clinch. It has been a disjointed start to the round, the flow hasn't quite developed properly. Florian uses a knee to the ribs before backing Hill up against the cage. Right hand from Hill connects though, that was well timed. Florian breaks the clinch and backs off. That was sloppy on his part, Hill was basically gifted a free shot. Three quick jabs from Florian sting the gloves, then a crashing hook to the body finds its mark. Good recovery. Hill fires off a low kick again, but it's well wide. Hill throws a big head kick, but Florian ducks and back pedals to safety. If that had hit, this was all over, because Hill wasn't holding anything back on that missile of a kick. Florian regains his composure and advances, throwing a pair of looping rights. Hill throws a kick to the legs, then a range-finding left hand. Florian steps to the side to get a better angle, then steps in...and this time the scorching head kick that comes his way catches him unaware and lands flush to the side of the jaw! Florian goes completely limp as he crash-lands to the ground, that was a brutal knock out kick. Official time of the knock out is 3:38 of the first round. Winner: Corey Hill, KO (****) ------------ Rich Clementi (28-12-1) vs. Melvin Guillard (20-6-1) Round 1 Clementi starts the round by throwing some low kicks. Guillard checks them, then comes in and clearly wants to trade punches. Clementi doesn't seem too bothered by that, and they enter into the first exchange of punches of the round. Difficult to say who came out on top, neither of them did a great deal of damage, most of the shots hit the opponent's gloves. Clementi cleverly head-fakes, allowing him the time and angle that he needed to catch Guillard with a beauty of a right hook. Guillard stumbles backward, but doesn't go down. Clementi presses the advantage by following in with a kick, then a right hand. Guillard clinches. They remain clinches for a while. Guillard scores with a nice knee, it appeared to catch Clementi in the gut. Clementi uses a single leg trip and takes the fight to the ground. Clementi gets to side control upon impact, and immediately goes for an armbar. Guillard reacts quickly, but is in real danger. Clementi has his left arm straightened out, fortunately Guillard has managed to roll and get a good position that is stopping Clementi from getting the leverage needed to apply an armlock. Clementi tries to step over and fully apply it, but Guillard breaks free and gets him to back off with a couple of up-kicks. Clementi steps back and motions for him to stand up. They go back to circling in the center. Guillard hits a nice right hand, but takes one back too. The time runs down; Clementi will probably get that round on points, he hit the best punch of the round, and got the only takedown, plus was the one who was working toward a submission. End of the round. Blurcat.com scores it 10-9 for Clementi. Round 2 Guillard doesn't exactly disguise his intentions for this round, going right to the center and motioning for Clementi to come and trade blows. Clementi wisely keeps back for the time being, content to throw long-range jabs. Guillard isn't quite as content though, as he begins to stalk Clementi. They meet near the cage. Clementi hits a nice jab, then goes to clinch. Guillard stops that with a powerful right hand to the body, then a fizzing left hook that glances off the side of the head. An attempt at a knock out right hand finds nothing but gloves. It is clear that Guillard believes that he has the power to get a knock out here, his game plan appears to be to look for the one punch finish. Clementi is trying to keep moving, to not let Guillard get set to throw a bomb. Guillard is controlling this round by virtue of the knock out threat, as Clementi is being forced to fight somewhat defensively. Guillard throws another big punch, narrowly missing, but does score with a follow up jab, landing just above the right eye. Clementi returns fire with a pair of jabs, both finding gloves. Time begins to tick away. It hasn't been the most exciting round, but Guillard has controlled it and managed to land the better shots. End of the round. Blurcat.com sees it 10-9 to Guillard. Round 3 They circle each other. Clementi misses with a low kick, and Guillard darts in to hit a jab before retreating. They come together and exchange punches, both got a few shots in. Guillard is looking much lighter on his feet, and keeps moving in, hitting a few punches, then getting back out of range. Clementi is trying to catch him coming in, but doesn't have the timing quite right. It happens again. Guillard isn't getting much power on the punches, but he is getting ahead on points. Clementi tries to get in close, but Guillard is keeping moving, and isn't letting himself get cornered. Guillard looks to be working an angle. Guillard gets a solid punch in, catching Clementi just above the left eye. Clementi finally gets a clinch, forcing Guillard up against the cage, but it's too little, too late as the round ends. The round is over. Blurcat.com has it down as 10-9 Guillard. The official scores are: 29-28 (twice), 30-27 for Melvin Guillard. Winner: Melvin Guillard, Decision (**) --------------- Lyoto Machida (11-0) vs. Rameau Sokoudjou (4-1) Round 1 Machida throws two high punches, then steps in for a hook to the body. Nice combination, but Sokoudjou defended with ease. They clinch up next to the cage, but a short struggle only ends with them separating and coming back in. Machida fires off three straight jabs, none of which connect. Sokoudjou is forced up with his back against the cage though. He clearly doesn't like the thought of being trapped there for any length of time though, as he quickly comes forward with a barrage of wild punches. Machida bobs and weaves to avoid them, but is literally bundled over in the process. There wasn't really any punch that put him down, it was simply the fact that Sokoudjou was advancing at a faster rate than he could back-pedal! Sokoudjou follows up with Machida down on his back. Sokoudjou is able to mount Machida before he has time to regain his wits, and fires off three punches in quick succession. Machida tries to roll his hips to shift Sokoudjou out of this dominant position, but can't do it. Sokoudjou opens up Machida's hands with a left, then smashes a right hand right into the temple. Machida goes limp, and the referee dives in to stop Sokoudjou from landing any further blows. Machida is out cold. Sokoudjou wins via knock out at 1:25 of the first round. Winner: Rameau Sokoudjou, KO (**) -------------------- Chuck Liddell (20-5) vs. Wanderlai Silva (31-7-1) Round 1 Slow start to the round, Silva is circling while Liddell seems content to just throw the occasional looping punch to cause him to back up. Silva steps in and fires off two jabs, neither connecting, then has to almost throw himself to one side to avoid a devastating looking punch! Liddell was clearly looking for the highlight reel K.O. punch, had that connected there is no way that Silva was getting back up. There's a warning to Silva, he must now know, if he didn't already, that Liddell has knock out intentions tonight. Silva throws a right hand, then backs up sharply, clearly not loving the idea of getting too close. Liddell still looks calm, throwing the occasional jab or two to keep Silva off balance. Silva throws a ragged jab, missing by a mile as Liddell simply ducks under and unloads a vicious hook from below. It catches Silva square on the jaw, and he goes down! Liddell mounts and starts firing off punches, rapid-fire. The referee waits to see if Silva can recover, decides that he can't, and pulls Liddell off. The match is over. Liddell wins via first round TKO at 4:34. Winner: Chuck Liddell, KO (****) ----------------------- UFC WELTERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: (c)Matt Serra (9-4) vs. Georges St. Pierre (14-2) Round 1 There is some tentative circling to begin with, before they meet in the center for the first action of the round. It's a tight affair, both fighters heavily using the jab, but St Pierre looks to get the better of it, landing with one crisp strike to the face in particular. Serra backs off, a little shaken. Replays show that it landed right on the nose. St Pierre press the action, forcing Serra back against the cage and upping the tempo with rapid-fire lefts and rights, bobbing and weaving at the same time to keep from getting caught with a counter punch. Serra clinches up. St Pierre is displaying a much more accomplished and confident striking game than Serra, the technique and speed with which the punches are being delivered is leaving Serra looking ragged in comparison. The pattern continues once they've been separated, with St Pierre looking the sharper of the two. He isn't overwhelming Serra by any means, but he is comfortably controlling the pace and tempo of the round, and preventing Serra from stamping any sort of mark on it. End of round 1. Blurcat.com sees it 10-9 to St Pierre. Round 2 St Pierre doesn't waste any time, scoring with a big right hook almost immediately. Serra was caught sleeping, and that really landed hard, if it had been more accurate it might have been a knock out blow. Serra hits two sharp body shots in return, but it's clear that he is rattled. For a second it looked like Serra was about to go for a takedown, but nothing came from it. They get in close and exchange punches, it's not clear who got the better of that. St Pierre hits a good looping punch to the side of the head, that's another one that's rattled Serra. St Pierre is getting more force behind his punches at the moment, and that's the key difference. Serra tries to back St Pierre up against the cage wall, but it comes to nothing. Time ticks away, and Serra offers nothing that would make you think that he has any chance of winning this round on points. The second round is over. Blurcat.com gives that one to St Pierre by 10-9. Round 3 Serra is quickest out, and comes at St Pierre with a series of jabs and straight punches. St Pierre covered up well, and I don't think anything got through. St Pierre hits a body shot, but it didn't connect solidly. They get in close, and it's Serra who takes it to the ground. St Pierre pulls guard. There's a lull, as Serra tries to pass, and St Pierre defends it. Punches get thrown every so often, but it's really a stalemate at the moment. St Pierre almost gets a guillotine, but it's blocked and almost leads to a kimura for Serra, but that too goes nowhere. The referee stands them up, but the time is almost over. End of the round. Blurcat.com sees it 10-9 to Serra. The official scores are: 29-28 (twice), 30-27 for Georges St Pierre. Winner and NEW UFC Welterweight Champion: Georgies St. Pierre, Decision (***) c Result: The show was considered decent. It wasn't awful, but wasn't great. We gained popularity in 50 regions.

News and notes from around the UFC: -- DirectTV executives are reportedly extremely happy with the UFC 79 PPV buyrate, as the show has been drawing praise from the television executives. Apparently the show did very well nationally. -- Contract negotiations are under way for extensions between UFC and two winners from UFC 79, Chuck Liddell and Melvin Guillard, both of whom have only one fight remaining on their contracts. Liddell is looking at a resurgence in his career after a brief slump, which led many to believe he was on his way out. -- Three injuries from UFC 79, two of which seem pretty major. Wanderlai Silva injured his left ankle during the fight with Liddell, as he could visibly be seen favoring it during the fight, and could be sidelined from 8 to 24 weeks depending on his healing time. Loyota Machida suffered a similar injury and may be out for a similar amount of time. Melvin Guillard had his abs roughed up, and may be out of commission for a month or so. Emelianenko signed to 8 fight deal The dream fight between Randy Couture and Fedor Emelianenko may finally take place, as the UFC has finally been able to come to terms tenatively on an 8 fight, 32 month contract with Fedor Emelianenko, who many consider the best pure fighter in the world. Couture is rumored to be very interested in coming back now that he has the opportunity to defend his UFC Heavyweight Title against the competition he wanted, in what could be UFC's most lucrative payoff ever.
