From the help files:
Energy Levels Every wrestler starts with a certain amount of energy. This is calculated from his popularity in the location being used (if you are using the Virtual Arena then the wrestler's best popularity is used) as he is "feeding off the crowd". There are some exceptions to this. Nobody will ever begin with less than 10% energy, regardless of their popularity. Also, if all the workers in the match have less than 50%, then everyone gets a 10% boost. Every time a wrestler takes a move, some energy is taken off. As the energy falls, so does his level. It goes from High, to Medium, to Low, to Danger. This is vital, as the more it drops, the bigger the moves the opponent will have access to. It is important to understand how the energy and levels are connected. They differ depending on the style of match being wrestled. Under Regular style, you will fall to Medium after losing 20% of your energy, Low when 55% is gone, and down to Danger when 75% is gone. Compare this to Sports Entertainment, under which you will go to Medium after just 15%, Low when 35% is gone, and Danger when 60% is gone. This has a massive effect on the match. As you can see, under Sports Entertainment style the drop in energy level is much greater than under Regular style. This means you end up with a quicker paced match, as the "big" moves will start happening earlier. It also means that the match will probably last a shorter time, as Finishers will start happening sooner. Each style has a different combination of percentages, meaning that each style results in a different pace of match. You will notice that on the screen are two energy bars, Current and Overall. The Current energy is relative, as it is a percentage of their starting value. The Overall value is an actual value, showing how much they energy they really have. It is the Current energy that is the most important, as this value is used when deciding what level you are at.
