It’s all at stake tonight in the sold out Nassau Coliseum, as we bring you the Great American Bash! Hello everyone, I’m Good Ol’ JR, Jim Ross, alongside my Hall of Fame broadcast colleague Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler, and King, so much is at stake for the superstars of the Raw roster tonight. King: You’re not kiddin’! Tonight, Chris Jericho defends the WWE Championship against Kurt Angle. Can Kurt Angle make a triumphant return to the WWE and win the title at the first chance he gets? JR: Not only that, but we’ve got that huge tag team match between Triple H, Mr Kennedy, Batista and the Big Show. Right now, let’s hand it over to our colleagues at the ECW table, Joey Styles and Tazz. Styles: Thanks JR. Tonight, as far as ECW is concerned, it’s not about titles. It’s about power, it’s about control... it’s about the future of ECW as a brand here in the WWE. Tazz: That’s right. Shelton Benjamin, the ECW Heavyweight Champion, does not put the gold on the line tonight, instead he represents Armando Estrada, against John Morrison, who is representing Mick Foley. And what are they fighting for? They’re fighting for the position of ECW General Manager. Styles: The very future of ECW depends on tonight’s match. Let’s throw it over to the Smackdown guys, Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman. Cole: Our thanks to Joey and Tazz. Tonight, the World Heavyweight Champion MVP puts the title on the line in a no disqualification fatal four way match against Edge, Matt Hardy and The Undertaker. Coach: But let’s make one thing clear Cole, there isn’t a chance in hell of the World Heavyweight Championship going anywhere. I’m sick and tired of hearing about Matt Hardy, and all these other guys. MVP is the champion, and that’s the way it’s going to stay. Cole: The WWE Tag Team titles are also on the line... but we’re kicking things off with the United States Championship. Here comes Finlay and Hornswoggle, as the fighting Irishman is set to take on the champion Umaga... United States Championship Match Umaga (C) v Finlay *we join the match near its conclusion* Cole: Finlay drives Umaga into the corner... and now Finlay hits Umaga with rights and lefts. Finlay on the second rope... 1, 2, 3, 4... the crowd sounding off as the right hands rain down on Umaga... 10! Coach: Listen to these idiots in the crowd. Cole: Umaga is almost out on his feet. Finlay... Irish whip... reversal by Umaga... oh! Umaga followed in with a splash in the corner. Coach: And Finlay just slumped down from the impact of that shot. Cole: Finlay’s head is in position by the bottom turnbuckle. Umaga... lining Finlay up... Coach: Here he comes... Cole: Oh! Finlay’s head just snapped back off the turnbuckle. Finlay is out. And I think Umaga is about to end this. Umaga... dragging Finlay back to his feet... he’s going to go for the Samoan spike. Umaga lining Finlay up... Coach: Get that damn leprechaun off the apron! Cole: Hornswoggle on the apron... I think he’s trying to plead with Umaga not to do it. Coach: He’s trying to distract him. I hope... oh! You’re in trouble now little guy! Cole: Now wait a second... Umaga has Hornswoggle! No! Don’t... don’t do this! Umaga’s going to... oh! Finlay from behind with the shillelagh! Coach: What the hell?! Ref? Cole: The ref never saw it! Finlay... he’s got Umaga up... Celtic cross! Celtic cross! We’re going to have a new United States Champion! Turn around ref... turn around... here comes the ref... 1... 2... Coach: No! Cole: Umaga gets the shoulder up! Somehow Umaga kicked out! Finlay was almost the United States Champion. Coach: And once again that leprechaun got involved. Cole: Finlay trying to keep on the pressure... right hand to Umaga... and another one. Finlay... Irish whip... Umaga reverses... Finlay off the ropes... oh! Samoan drop! Finlay ran right into it! Coach: Haha! What are you gonna do now Hornswoggle? Cole: Umaga with the cover, 1... 2... and Finlay kicks out! Coach: You gotta be kiddin’ me?! Cole: Finlay got the shoulder up. Umaga now... I think he’s going to go for the Samoan spike. Umaga... dragging Finlay... small package, 1... 2... and Umaga kicks out! Finlay almost won it right there. Coach: C’mon Umaga! Cole: Both men back up... uppercut from Finlay... and again. Finlay sends Umaga off the ropes... clothesline from Finlay only staggers Umaga... another clothesline... and a third sends Umaga down. Coach: Yeah but Finlay’s gotta be asking what it’s going to take to put Umaga away? He’s tried the Celtic cross, he’s tried the shillelagh, the leprechaun got involved... Cole: Well maybe this will do it. Finlay going to the second rope... here comes Finlay... uh oh... Umaga caught him... Samoan drop! Another Samoan drop from Umaga. And that could be it. Coach: No Cole... this is gonna be it. Cole: Umaga has Finlay back on his feet... oh! Samoan spike! Umaga just decimated Finlay. Here’s the cover, 1... 2... 3! Umaga retains the United States Championship, but it took everything Umaga had to put Finlay away. Coach: Yeah but it doesn’t matter how. What matters is that Umaga is still the United States Champion. Umaga beat Finlay to retain the United States Championship (B-) --------- *we cut backstage to Maria* Maria: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, he is the hardcore legend... Mick Foley! Tonight Mick, your quest to become the General Manager of ECW comes to a head tonight as your representative John Morrison goes one on one with the ECW Champion Shelton Benjamin. Mick, how are you feeling right now and is John Morrison the man to get the job done for you tonight? Foley: I have all the faith in the world in John Morrison. He’s a hell of a wrestler, a great athlete... and he is the new face of Extreme. And tonight, I am full of confidence that John will beat Shelton Benjamin... and then maybe I can start to put my mark on ECW. Have a nice day! JR: Certainly a huge night for ECW tonight folks... HEY JR: But it’s also a huge night for young Cody Rhodes. Cody’s first pay per view appearance as a singles wrestler... and he couldn’t have picked a tougher challenge. King: Absolutely not. The Legend Killer Randy Orton is out to do to Cody what he did to Cody’s father Dusty Rhodes at last year’s Great American Bash... Randy Orton v Cody Rhodes *we join the match near its conclusion* JR: And look at Orton, just toying with Cody... and a slap to the face... and now a suplex. Orton has been dominant so far... a boot to the face. This is a real education for Cody right now. Orton with a hard chinlock now... King: And this crowd is trying to get behind Cody... JR: Cody trying to fight back to his feet... elbow to the midsection... and now a right hand. Cody off the ropes... but he runs right into a knee from Orton. And another slap from Orton... this is totally uncalled for. Yes it would be an upset, we all know that, but there’s no need to treat a man like this. King: Orton just standing over Cody, trying to embarrass him... JR: Orton now punishing Cody with right hands... oh wait... Cody with the roll up... 1... 2... and Orton kicks out. And Cody quickly back to his feet... teeing off on Orton with left hands... and a big right staggers Orton... and a clothesline takes him down. Cody now... going to the top rope... King: High risk from Cody... JR: Missile dropkick! Cody connected! Will we see the upset? 1... 2... and Orton got the shoulder up! I thought that was 3, but Orton kicked out. King: God that was close. Stay on him Cody... JR: Cody... oh, Orton caught him with an uppercut... Orton sends Cody off the ropes... Cody ducks the clothesline... flying forearm! Cody Rhodes is looking like a winner here! King: What a story this could be! JR: Cody... lining Orton up... he’s waiting for him to get back on his feet. King: C’mon Orton get up so Cody can plant you again... JR: Cody goes for the DDT... King: Here it comes! JR: No! Counter by Orton... RKO! RKO! Orton with the RKO! Orton hooks the leg, 1... 2... 3! And Cody Rhodes came so close to getting a huge victory, but the Legend Killer has struck again. King: Well he may have lost the match, but I give all the credit in the world to Cody Rhodes. He gave it everything out there, but he just came up a little bit short. JR: And Orton now... what... what’s the meaning of this. Orton attacking Cody after the bell! You already won the damn match. This uncalled for... no! Another RKO! Cody Rhodes is defenceless! This is a heinous attack. King: And it’s about to get worse JR... JR: Orton... no! Not this! Orton’s going to kick Cody’s head in! King: I don’t know if I can watch this JR. JR: Orton... no! Orton just kicked Cody in the head! Dammit! You son of a bitch! There’s no need for any of this! You won the match you jackass! King: I... we need some help out here. Cody Rhodes is down... and he’s hurt. I mean he’s not moving. JR: Why Orton? Why? What possible reason is there for this? You won the match. You evil son of a bitch! Randy Orton beat Cody Rhodes (B+) -------- *we cut backstage to Shane McMahon, Triple H and Mr Kennedy* Shane: You see that? I mean that was brutal. Kennedy: Getting your head kicked in has gotta hurt. HHH: Will you two shut up about Orton? We got more important things to worry about. We got Batista and the Big Show tonight. How about you get your mind on that Kennedy? Kennedy: Hey... easy man. I got it tonight. HHH: What like you did last Monday? Kennedy: You trying to say that was my fault? It was the Bulldogs that walked out on the match... HHH: I know but you didn’t... Shane: Hey! Hey! What is this? Huh? Don’t you think this is just what Batista and the Big Show want? They want you guys worrying about each other, when you should be worrying about them. Now focus... I got it covered tonight. HHH: What do you mean you got it covered? Shane: I got a little insurance policy. Nothing to worry about. Kennedy: Insurance policy? HHH: Well let me tell you something Shane... it better be better than those two idiots you teamed us with on Monday night. Otherwise, you and me are going to have some serious problems. Shane: Relax, alright? I took care of everything. Now... you wanna see that kid get kicked in the head again? Kennedy: Hell yeah... Cole: Well folks, that huge tag team match is still to come tonight, but right now the WWE Tag Team Titles are on the line. Coach: Right and finally someone is going to take the titles of those two frauds Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero. Cole: What do you mean frauds...? WWE Tag Team Championship Match Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero (C) v Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder *we join the match near its conclusion* Cole: Hawkins... drives Mysterio to the corner. Here comes Hawkins... he runs into a boot... and a right hand to Ryder... another boot to Hawkins. Mysterio out of the corner... dropkick to Hawkins. Hawkins is set up... here comes Rey... 61... oh! Ryder with a knee to the back as Mysterio came off the ropes. Coach: Smart move from Ryder. Dont let Rey hit you with that... Cole: Elbow to Ryder. Mysterio runs at Hawkins... back body drop... but Rey lands on his feet, and makes the tag! Here comes Chavo! Chavo ducks a clothesline...dropkick to Ryder on the apron... and now a dropkick to Hawkins. Coach: The last thing Hawkins and Ryder want to do is let these two get momentum. Cole: Ryder into the ring... spinning headscissor from Chavo! Right hands to Hawkins in the corner... Irish whip across... and Hawkins runs into a dropkick from Rey! Great double team move from the champions, as all four men are in the ring now. Coach: The referee’s gotta get Mysterio out of there. Cole: Ryder... Rey with a hurricanrana sends both men over the top rope. We’re down to Chavo and Hawkins now. Chavo... right hand... and another. Hawkins sent off the ropes... huge back body drop! Coach: What are these idiots doing out here?! Cole: Mysterio on the top rope... springboard dropkick from Rey... Hawkins is hung up on the second rope... Mysterio off the ropes... Coach: No! Cole: 619! Mysterio hits the 619! And Chavo is going to the top rope... Coach: God I hate this! Cole: Chavo... hey! Coach: It’s Edge! Cole: Edge... oh! He just pushed Chavo off the top rope. Ryder distracting the referee... turn around Rey! Coach: Yeah turn around... Cole: Spear! Spear from Edge! Chavo is out on the floor... Rey is down in the ring... Ryder with the cover... 1... 2... Coach: They did it! Cole: 3! Dammit! Edge has just handed the titles to Hawkins and Ryder! Edge has just robbed Rey and Chavo! Coach: Edge promised he would lead his boys to glory and that’s exactly what he’s done! Cole: Once again Edge has screwed Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero. We’ve got new tag team champions. Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder beat Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions (B-) ---------- *we cut backstage to Eve Torres* Eve: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time... he is the WWE Champion... Y2J... Chris Jericho! And Chris, tonight you put your title on the line against Kurt Angle. You two both admitted a lot of respect for each other in the weeks leading up to this match, but Kurt Angle attacked you last Monday night on Raw and put you in the ankle lock for a long time. How are you feeling and what do you think of Kurt now? Jericho: How am I feeling? Well, my ankle hurts like hell. Is that what you wanted to hear? Listen, all that doesn’t matter. What matters is that tonight I will defend my WWE Championship against Kurt Angle. Kurt, you think taking a shot at me last Monday night has given you the upper hand? Well let me tell you this Kurt... if you think you can walk back into the WWE and take my title... I think you maybe got dropped on your head one too many times. I came back to save the WWE... and I’m not finished yet. Styles: Well strong words from the WWE Champion Chris Jericho, he puts the gold on the line against Kurt Angle later tonight... but right now, it’s about more than gold as far as ECW is concerned. Tazz: Right. I mean we’ve been suffering through Armando Estrada and Shelton Benjamin calling the shots on ECW for months now. I’m hoping and praying that it comes to an end tonight. Styles: Folks we believe that after what happened last Tuesday night on Sci-Fi were Shelton Benjamin cost John Morrison his match with Elijah Burke, both Tommy Dreamer and Mick Foley will be at ringside to stop any interference from Burke and Armando Estrada tonight. Tazz: Smart move by Mick Foley. He doesn’t want... well here they come right now. Here comes Morrison, Foley and Dreamer. Styles: Can John Morrison emerge as the new face of Extreme, or will the Gold Standard further tighten his grip on ECW? ECW General Manager Position On The Line Shelton Benjamin v John Morrison Styles: Benjamin has the headlock on pretty tight, but Morrison is trying to fight it... Tazz: And this crowd is trying to help him too. Styles: Elbow from Morrison... and again. Morrison with an Irish whip... Benjamin reverses... and Morrison holds onto the top rope and Benjamin misses with the dropkick. Both men slow to get back to their feet... Morrison blocks the right hand... oh! Great kick to the head from Morrison. Tazz: Great move by Morrison, but he can’t follow up on it, he’s taken too much punishment in this match. Styles: Morrison dragging himself to his feet in the corner... here comes Benjamin... nobody home! Benjamin misses with the splash in the corner... and Morrison takes him down with a clothesline... and another... and now a spinning heel kick from Morrison! Tazz: Morrison picking up the pace here... Styles: Morrison... Irish whip from the corner... Benjamin reverses...and Benjamin runs into an elbow. Morrison... springboard corkscrew moonsault! Morrison hooks the leg, 1... 2... and Benjamin kicks out! Tazz: We almost had a new general manager right there! Styles: Morrison now driving the shoulder into the midsection... monkey flip... Benjamin landed on his feet... but Morrison nails him with a dropkick! Morrison going to the top rope... no! Nobody home for the elbow drop off the top! Tazz: Benjamin did a great job of moving out of the... hey what the... what the hell’s Estrada doing on the apron? Styles: Armando Estrada distracting the referee... Elijah Burke from behind... oh! Morrison ducked and Burke nailed Benjamin with the ECW Title! Tazz: Here comes Mick Foley! Styles: Foley... right hand to Estrada! Tommy Dreamer... right hand to Burke! We’ve got a war going on outside the ring... but in the ring... Morrison has a cover! Turn around ref! Tazz: Make the count ref! Styles: Here we go... 1... 2... no! Benjamin got the shoulder up! We were so close to a new general manager! Morrison and Benjamin both back to their feet... kick to the midsection from Benjamin, and he nails Morrison with the DDT! Tazz: I think... I think Armando Estrada is out cold! Styles: Benjamin rolls an arm over Morrison. Is this it? 1... 2... Morrison gets his foot on the rope! Morrison keeps the hope alive! But wait... Benjamin drags Morrison to the centre of the ring... 1... 2... and Morrison gets the shoulder up! Tazz: Yeah but that took a lot out of Morrison. Styles: And it could get worse... Benjamin is going to the top rope. Benjamin... waiting for Morrison to get back on his feet... crossbody connects... but Morrison rolls through... 1... 2... and Benjamin kicks out! Tazz: That was 3! Styles: Not quite. Both these guys have given so much... wait... Benjamin has the title. Benjamin... oh! Shelton Benjamin swung for Morrison, but he caught the referee! Benjamin swings again... oh! This time he caught Morrison! Tazz: Dammit! So now we got Morrison and the ref both down! Styles: Morrison down, the referee down, Estrada is down... it’s mayhem out here! Look out at ringside... oh! Elijah Burke just nailed Tommy dreamer with a chair... and a shot to Mick Foley as well! Tazz: Everybody’s down! Well except Burke and Benjamin... Styles: Burke on the apron... he’s handing the chair to... oh! Morrison just dropkicked the chair into the face of Elijah Burke! And... oh! A shot to Benjamin as well! Morrison with the cover! C’mon ref! Make the count ref! Tazz: He’s coming too! Styles: The referee crawling over... make the count... 1... 2... 3! He did it! He did it! Morrison did it! He beat Shelton Benjamin! Mick Foley is the new general manager of ECW! Mick Foley is our boss! Tazz: And I couldn’t be happier! Hell of a job by John Morrison. Mick Foley believed in him, Mick Foley put his faith in him, and Morrison got the job done! Styles: This is a great night for ECW! Mick Foley is in charge now! John Morrison beat Shelton Benjamin (A) --------- *we cut backstage to Todd Grisham* Todd: Uh... ladies and gentlemen... please welcome my guest at this time, Randy Orton. And Randy... you have requested this time to explain your actions from earlier. Uh... what do you have to say? Orton: I can’t believe I have to kick some kids head in to get an interview around here. Let me just say one thing... yes I did destroy Cody Rhodes after the bell tonight. And you might all be asking why I did it. Well let me tell you... I did it because I am sick of tired of the way I get treated on Raw. I mean... this all started because you Todd... you chose to interview Cody Rhodes, and for what? Because he was on Raw for a year? In that year, I did it all. I main evented Wrestlemania, I was the WWE Champion... I ended Ric Flair’s career... and for what? I get no respect whatsoever. I get some punk like Cody Rhodes challenging me to a match? Well I think Cody Rhodes found out a little bit about what it takes to be a major player around here. I will be back on top of Monday Night Raw... and it starts tonight. This is just the beginning... of the second coming... of the Age of Orton. Cole: Randy Orton there... explaining the despicable attack of Cody Rhodes earlier tonight, saying that he doesn’t get the respect he deserves. Coach: And for me, Cody Rhodes was the warning shot from Randy Orton to the Raw roster. He’s not playing games any more. Cole: Well talking of respect, JBL felt that CM Punk arriving on Smackdown and talking about how he was here to become the World Heavyweight Champion was Punk not showing JBL the respect he felt he deserved. Coach: Well CM Punk is an ECW reject. He doesn’t belong on Smackdown. He belongs in Florida for my money, and JBL is going to show him what it means to be a member of the Smackdown roster. Cole: What’s happening down in Florida? Coach: That was for all the smarks out there... John Bradshaw Layfield v CM Punk *we join the match near its conclusion* Cole: Right hand from JBL... Punk fires back... JBL again... again Punk hits back. Both men slugging it out in the centre of the ring. JBL with a thumb in the eye... and now he sends Punk off the ropes... JBL goes for the clothesline... Punk ducks... Punk with rights and lefts... oh! Great kick to the head, JBL goes down, 1... 2... and JBL kicks out at 2! Coach: JBL’s gotta just get Punk grounded. He’s gotta hit him with one good shot at take away this momentum. Cole: Punk looking to keep it going. Punk... to the top rope... oh! JBL countered the crossbody into a powerslam, JBL could win it here, 1... 2... and Punk gets the shoulder up! Frustration on the face of JBL... Coach: Of course he’s frustrated! That was slow count! This is the worse refereeing I’ve ever seen! Cole: JBL has been close to winning on a couple of occasions... and if he nails the clothesline here it could be over... Punk with a spinning heel kick! JBL was going for the clothesline from hell, but Punk nailed him. Coach: That would’ve been it right there. If JBL hit that, this match was over. Cole: Both men struggling to get back on their feet... Punk back up first... and he sends JBL to the corner... and he follows in with a knee to the face. Punk... going for the bulldog... but JBL reverses it... and now he hangs Punk up on the top rope. A hard shot to the back... and another one. JBL... back suplex off the top rope! Coach: Cover him! Cover him JBL! Cole: This match has taken it’s toll. JBL can’t make it over to Punk. JBL... slowly rolls Punk over, hooks the leg... 1... 2... and Punk kicks out again! Coach: God... c’mon ref! What’s it going to take?! Cole: CM Punk holding on in this match. JBL... sends Punk to the corner... Punk hits the turnbuckle hard... JBL off the ropes... clothesline from... no! Punk ducked... he’s got JBL on his shoulders... GTS! Punk hits the go to sleep! Coach: What the... Cole: Punk goes for the cover, 1... 2... 3! He did it! CM Punk has pinned JBL! CM Punk, the newcomer to Smackdown has pinned the veteran JBL! Coach: This is unbelievable! What is going on here?! Cole: CM Punk has made his mark on the Smackdown roster! CM Punk beat John Bradshaw Layfield (A) --------- *we cut backstage to Anastacia Rose* Rose: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, he is one of the men who will take part in the fatal four way for the World Heavyweight Championship... Matt Hardy! And Matt, you’ve talked in recent weeks about this being the shot you’ve waited 10 years for. Now that’s it’s finally here, how are feeling right now? Matt: You know now that it’s finally here... I feel like I’m going to leave tonight at the new World Heavyweight Champion. This is everything I’ve been working for, everything I sacrificed is going to be worth it tonight. This has been my dream... and tonight my dream finally comes true. JR: It could very well be a dream come true for Matt Hardy later tonight, but right now folks, it could be a nightmare for Triple H. King: It’s a figure four JR! JR: Triple H has the figure four locked in on Batista! The Animal struggling, clawing, trying to reach the ropes. Batista... trying to drag Triple H towards the ropes... and he gets there! Batista ahs the ropes... and Triple H is taking every second of that 5 count from the referee. King: Batista is in a bad way right now. JR: Tag made, here comes Kennedy back into the match... and Kennedy continues the damage to the knee. Kennedy dragging Batista back to his feet... God Batista can barely stand right now. Kennedy sends Batista off the ropes... and Kennedy takes Batista down again with a dropkick to the knee. King: Batista desperately needs to make a tag right now. JR: Kennedy keeping Batista trapped in his half of the ring... and another tag made, here comes the Game. Triple H into the ring... and he drives the knee into the leg of Batista. Batista in a bad way here... and the Game going to work on him in the corner now. The Game with kicks to the midsection... and now and Irish whip to Batista. King: Batista can barely move across the ring... JR: Oh! But he got the elbow up before Triple H ran into him... and now a right hand. The Animal fighting his way out of the corner... Triple H sent off the ropes... spinebuster! Batista with one hell of a spinebuster! And now it the time, now Batista has to make the tag. King: Right but he’s taken so much punishment in this match he might not be able to get there. JR: Batista is crawling towards the Big Show... and Triple H is almost at Kennedy. Triple H... he makes the tag to Kennedy... but here comes the Big Show! Business has picked up! Big Show... clothesline to Kennedy! Here comes the Game... big boot from the Big Show! King: Big Show is cleaning house in there! JR: Big Show has Triple H... and he just throws him over the top rope! And Kennedy... I think Kennedy has realised the severity of the situation now! He’s alone in the ring with Big Show and Batista! King: And there’s nowhere to run for Kennedy! JR: Big Show with a right hand... and one from Batista! Big Show... Irish whip to Kennedy... spear! Spear! A spear from Batista! Batista almost speared Kennedy out of his boots! King: Well he did spear him out of the ring. Kennedy is on the floor but... JR: Hey! Triple H has the sledgehammer... swing and a miss at Big Show... a spear! Another spear from Batista, this time on the Game! That sledgehammer just got speared right out of the hands of the Game... and the referee removing the sledgehammer out of the ring. And I think it may be time... Big Show just gave a thumbs up... and thumbs down from Batista! King: JR... this isn’t good for the Game! JR: Absolutely not. Big Show... he’s got the Game by the throat... chokeslam! Chokeslam! The Game just got chokeslammed! King: But I don’t think they’re finished with him yet... JR: Batista wants to get him a little of the Game too. Batista... going for the Batista-bomb... oh! Kennedy from behind, just took Batista at the knee! The Animal is down... but Big Show has Kennedy by the throat but... King: Hey! What the... it’s the Bulldogs! JR: Smith and Wilson are out here... oh! Big Show just got clocked with one of the tag team titles! The referee was seeing to Batista, and the Big Show is out! King: And Triple H is going for... JR: The pedigree! The pedigree! Pedigree to the Big Show! Triple H with the cover... 1... 2... 3! Dammit! Triple H and Kennedy have stolen one here! The damn Canadian Bulldogs just handed Triple H and Kennedy the win. King: Yeah but... they ran away from the match on Monday night. JR: Something’s not right here. I get a horrible feeling Shane McMahon may be behind this. Undertaker’s going to do it, he’s going to become champion again... 1... 2... and MVP makes the save! Coach: Thank god for that. Cole: MVP with right hands to the Deadman... and a clothesline takes both MVP and Undertaker to the floor. And now the brawl continues... oh! Edge with a chair! Shot to Taker... shot to MVP as well! Remember folks, it’s all legal! Coach: This is carnage right now. Matt Hardy is down in the ring, Undertaker and MVP are down outside the ring... and Edge has a chair in his hand. A spear from Edge! Here’s the cover, 1... 2... and again MVP makes the save! MVP desperately trying to hang on to his title. Coach: I said a minute ago Matt Hardy was in control... Cole: Undertaker is back up... right hand to MVP... and now one for Edge. Taker... clothesline to MVP. Undertaker and Edge alone in the ring now. MVP, trying to regroup out here. Matt Hardy still down on the floor after taking so much punishment. Coach: And if it comes down to Edge and The Undertaker, my money’s on... Cole: Oh... Undertaker has Edge by the throat... Kurt Angle! And Kurt, we are just moments away from your first WWE Title shot in over two years. And Kurt I want to ask you about last Monday night on Raw, where you scored some would say a psychological victory over Chris Jericho by attacking him and locking on the ankle lock as Raw went off the air. Do you... Angle: You know what? I just want to say one thing... Chris Jericho, you call yourself the saviour. Well maybe it’s not the WWE that needs saving, maybe it’s not Monday Night Raw that needs saving... maybe it’s you Chris Jericho. Maybe you need to be saved from yourself. Maybe, just maybe... you can’t handle the pressure. Maybe that championship has made you weak... I mean I got at you pretty easily last Monday. Imagine what I’m going to do tonight. Maybe I’ll be the saviour Jericho... maybe I’ll save everyone from having to listen to your crap anymore. King: Wow. An intense interview from Kurt Angle.
CENA!! I wondered where he was. Was he out injured all this time? Another good show man, can't wait for Summerslam!
Yeah he was. My data started in like October 07, so however made it must've reckoned he'd be out until the end of July. Right, from here on out I'm going to need to make some changes. I started uni today (wooo!) so I doubt I'll have enough time for this. However, I really want to keep it going as I love the save I have, and I have stroylines and stuff planed (half my WM25 card is planned out on my laptop already) and I'd like to see them out. So, I'm going to start writing matches as recaps. I realise that my style isn't exactly fan friendly, so I'm willing to change it and work harder in terms of being creative with this. I'd love to get this nominated for diary of the month and such, and build into a long term thing. With that in mind however, I'd like to start again almost with a new thread. Like continue the story, but change evreything about how it is presented, maybe even add a backstory and such. So I'm wondering (and if someone who's like a more senior member here could answer this) is it cool to start a new thread but keep the story going? I've been thinking a lot about it, I have a name for it, a reason behind it all and something happened recently in my save that could act as a catalyst for starting again as it were, but I'm not sure if it's allowed or not. The lack of feedback in this thread is really disheartning, so I was thinking if I start a new thread, change the way I do things and change the way it is presented, then maybe it would be accepted a little better? Or would it be pointless to even bother? Then again this could just be ignored and I could just fade away, but again I'm willing to work at this and get better, so a little advice would be great.

We are sold out in Knoxville, TN, just one night after a hellacious Great American Bash! Hello everyone, I’m good ol’ Jim Ross, alongside Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler, and what a night the Bash turned out to be. King: It was unbelievable! Not only did Chris Jericho beat Kurt Angle to retain the WWE Title, but John Cena returned after 10 months on the shelf! JR: We’ve got a huge show tonight. Both the tag team and Intercontinental championships will be on the line. Hopefully we’ll get to hear from John Cena... well... here he comes now. Cena is making his way down to the ring. King: And I bet he’s got a lot to say... Cena: The champ is back! 10 months I’ve been on the shelf, 10 months I’ve been waiting for this moment, 10 months if been training to get back here... and 10 months I’ve been waiting to get my hands on Randy Orton! Now I never lost my WWE Title... I had it taken away from me. But the WWE Title can wait for now. Right now... I want Randy Orton! Get your ass out here Orton! HEY Orton: You want me Cena? You want to mess with me? Didn’t you see what I did to Cody Rhodes last night? I mean... I almost kicked that kid’s head off. I possibly could have ended his career. Infact... you could say... I killed his legend... before it started. And now you Cena... a man who I consider to be just another victim of the legend killer. You stand in that ring... and you call me out? You think... Cena: Enough! I don’t give a damn what you’ve done and I don’t give a damn what you’ve gotta say! I want you in this ring, right here, right now! King: Here comes Orton! They’re going to get it on right now! JR: Cena and Orton... 10 months in the making... HERE COMES THE MONEY Shane: Whoa... whoa! Hey! Hold up Orton! You two guys want to fight each other? OK... I’m cool with that. But you’re not going to do it tonight. No... I got a better idea. It’s going to be Randy Orton... one on one with John Cena... at Summerslam! King: Whoa! What a match that’s going to be! JR: Cena and Orton at Summerslam? Shane: But that’s not all. You see now that Big Show has had his shot... and Kurt Angle has had his shot... I get to name the number one contender. And I’m going to name... The Game, Triple H... as the man to face Chris Jericho for the WWE Championship at Summerslam! JR: Two huge matches for Summerslam just announced! King: I can’t wait! What a main event that’s going to be! Shane: I got one more thing to say. Cena... I’ve never really had any problems with you in the past... and now that you’re back, I don’t want any problems in the future. So I was thinking maybe you can do me a favour? You see one problem I do have... is with the Big Show. So for your first match back... it’s going to be John Cena one on one with the Big Show... tonight! JR: And what a main event for Raw! Well let me tell you something Hunter... as far as I’m concerned, the WWE has still not been saved. Not while jackasses like you think you have some God given right to the title. At Summerslam... JR: The chairman of the board, Vince McMahon... King: Mr McMahon! JR: Mr McMahon is on his way out here... and he could be about to shake things up. Vince: Every now and then... I survey the landscape here in WWE... and every now and then I decide to shake things up a bit. That’s why it’s my pleasure to announce that... in two weeks time, live on Monday Night Raw... from Chicago, IL... we’re going to have the 2008 WWE Draft! Every member of the roster, be it a superstar, a general manager, a referee... hell even the commentators are eligible for the draft. Any champions drafted will take their titles with them... and any matches signed for Summerslam will be honoured by the general managers of the brands. So in two weeks... the landscape is going to change around here. And when it does... nothing’s going to be the same again. -------------------- Jeff Hardy v Snitsky Mr Money in the Bank Jeff Hardy continues his recent hot streak with a win over the ever dangerous Snitsky. The bigger, more powerful Snitsky has Jeff on the ropes early, with backbreakers and knees to the spine causing Jeff a huge amount of pain. As it looks like Snitsky is about to finish Jeff off an score what would be an upset win, Jeff dodges a big boot and hits the twist of fate! Hardy drags himself to the top rope, and hits the swanton bomb to score the three count. Jeff Hardy beat Snitsky (B-) Jeff applauds the audience, before we are joined by... HERE COMES THE MONEY Shane: Jeff... Jeff... congratulations man. Another fine victory. But you see Jeff... I seem to be having a lot of problems on Raw right now. I got problems with the Big Show... I got problems with Batista... and I’ve got a problem with you Jeff. You see once Triple H wins the WWE Title at Summerslam... I don’t want that Money in the Bank briefcase in your hands. So at Summerslam... you’re going to defend that briefcase in something I like to call... the Money in the Bank challenge! It’s going to be you... and a member of each brand in a four way ladder elimination match. Now I’ll give you details in due time, and I’ll be inviting the other brands to send forward a worthy candidate. But Jeff... you don’t have to worry about the member of the Raw brand... it’s the guy standing behind you right now! JR: Oh! Kennedy with the mic check! A sneak attack from Kennedy! King: Are we going to see the Money in the Bank change hands at Summerslam? -------------------- We return to the image of Bobby Lashley pacing in the ring, waiting for the appearance of the Intercontinental Champion Carlito... I SPIT IN THE FACE... Carlito: Lashley... Carlito knows he said if you beat Apolo last week you could have a shot at Carlito’s Intercontinental Title. But... not tonight. Carlito isn’t healthy man. Carlito is sick. I’ve been spiting up apple all day. I can’t go tonight. But... Carlito will make you a deal Lashley. If you agree to push our match back to next week... Carlito will ban Apolo from ringside. Do we have a deal Lashley? JR: Is... I think Bobby Lashley just said yes. We’re going to have to wait until next week folks. King: How confident is Carlito feeling that he’s going to ban Apolo from ringside? Carlito: OK... we have a deal. But since you are out there right now... Carlito found a replacement for you to face tonight. King: Ha ha! What in the... Santino tried to muster up some level of offence, but eventually he fell victim to a spear from Lashley. Lashley dragged the lifeless Santino back to his feet, pointed at Carlito who was still standing gat the top of the ramp... and nailed him with the dominator! 1... 2... 3! And Kurt, last night you lost to Chris Jericho in a match for the WWE Championship... Angle: First of all let me just say credit to Chris Jericho. He won fair and square... and I congratulate him. I came back to the WWE to chase the WWE Title. I had my shot and I didn’t get it done. But there was another reason I came back to the WWE. And that reason... is Shawn Michaels. When I was here before Shawn and I stole the show at Wrestlemania 21. Then we had a rematch at Backlash that year... two of the greatest matches in the history of the WWE. But we left it tied at 1... and I came back to finish it off. So Shawn... I know you’re out hurting right now... but I also know you’re the showstopper! I know you want to end this between us. What do you say Shawn? 3 years later... you still got it in you? If you think you do... I’ll see you next week. -------------------- John Cena v Big Show A match neither man wants to be involved with, but professional pride takes over as both give everything they have. Big Show dominates early, tossing Cena around the ring and focusing on his surgically repaired triceps and shoulder region. In his first match in 10 months, Cena is out to prove he still has it, and quickly looks to build momentum. After hitting a five knuckle shuffle, Cena waits for the big man to get back on his feet... and tries to get him up for the FU! As Cena goes for it, a clubbing blow sends him to the mat. Show pounces like only a 7 footer can pounce, grabbing Cena by the throat for the choke... no! This time Cena counters! Cena has the big guy on his shoulders, his knees start to quake... FU! Cena hit the FU! That’s got be it... JR: It’s gotta be over! King: JR... JR: Oh! John Cena beat Big Show by DQ (B) Orton strikes from behind with an RKO! The referee calls for the bell, as Orton applies the boots to Cena on the mat. With Cena down hurting, Orton crouches in position, looking to punt Cena in the head just like he did to Cody Rhodes last night. Cena is down... here comes Orton... wait! Big Show has him by the throat... chokeslam! Big Show chokeslams Orton! But it’s not over yet... JR: What the hell are they doing out here? King: They’ve come for some payback for earlier! Smith and Wilson quickly hit the ring and outnumber Show. The two on one attack works for the Bulldogs, as they managed to get Big Show down... until Cena catches Harry... FU! Cena returns the favour! All hell has broken loose... JR: What? King: The Animal! JR: Here comes Batista! A six man brawl ensues with Orton back on his feet. Rights and lefts are flying all over the ring. Orton eventually gets ejected by Cena, Wilson takes a spinebuster from Batista, and Smith is chokeslammed! Cena, Big Show and Batista stand tall in the ring. Smith and Wilson are down on the ringside floor, as Orton looks on from the top of the ramp... JR: Cena! Batista! Big Show! They're standing tall in the centre of the ring! King: Yeah but Randy Orton won’t stand for this. You know he’ll have something in mid for next week! JR: We’re out of time folks, we’ve got to go. What a night it’s been!
your doing good man don't get discouraged if there are no replies. that doesn't mean people arent reading it.
I guess I'll have to take your word on that. Anyway, I tried somethign different. It's easier for me to write, so that's a plus. I intend to go into more detail once I get to pay per views and such. Anyway, any feedback on that show or on the style used?

I personally like your diary Mac, either way you write is fine, I personally think that TV shows should be the way that they are on TV, the matches are short (which annoys the hell out of me) but there are times when they are really good, PPVs should be true to form as well, a little more detail, let the readers feel the drama in some of the matches (IMO) Between your WWE, Angel' TNA and of course Nevvy' ECW Worldwide, those are my 3 favorite real world diaries on the board (even though I stink at posting comments whenever I read) But you're seriously doing great, for once I was happy to see John Cena come back, I'm sure I'll be sick of him next week again, lol Keep up the good work dude

Mick Foley is in charge now, and ECW is charging towards Summerslam with new hope. Welcome everybody to ECW on Sci-Fi, we are in Atlanta, GA. I’m Joey Styles alongside former ECW Champion Tazz, and I can’t wait to see what Mick Foley has in store for us. Tazz: You and me both buddy. Mick Foley is in charge, and we’re hopefully going to get rid of Shelton Benjamin as champion. We got rid of Armando Estrada, now Burke and Benjamin can follow him out the door. Styles: John Morrison will be in action tonight against Smackdown’s JBL, the ECW representative in the Money in the Bank challenge will be decided... and we’re going to hear from the new GM right now! Tazz: I can’t wait to hear what Mick Foley’s got to say... Foley: First of all I want to say... that tonight is the start of a new ECW. No more of the GM trying to protect the champion. That’s not the ECW I knew. My first act as ECW general manager is to announce the ECW main event for Summerslam. It’s going to be the ECW Champion Shelton Benjamin one on one... with Tuesday Night Delight, John Morrison! I hope it’s a hell of a match, and I hope it gives us a hell of a champion. That’s all I have to say right now... I hope tonight’s a good show. Have a nice day! Styles: The ECW Championship will be on the line at Summerslam. A rematch of the Great American Bash, Shelton Benjamin and John Morrison one on one. Tazz: Yeah but this time the gold is on the line. -------------------- Matt Striker v Colt Cabana Striker has been dominant lately, beating all challengers to him with the help of Big Daddy V, who as always is in his corner for this one. Cabana is a new comer to ECW, and his goofy style and fun loving attitude seems to be a perfect fit here on Sci-FI. Striker again uses his advantage on the floor, as he sends Cabana through the ropes and distracts the referee long enough for V to drive Cabana into the ringpost and leave the newcomer grounded. Striker in an act of arrogance demands V throws Cabana back into the ring so he can finish him off. Cabana, in pain and barely able to stand, looks like he’s in serious trouble. Striker lines him up for the golden rule, but Cabana reverses into a small package... 1... 2... 3! A huge upset win for the newcomer Colt Cabana. Striker has a look of shock on his face, and Cabana makes it back up the ramp before V can waddle after him. Colt Cabana beat Matt Striker (C-) -------------------- Backstage, Anastacia Rose is standing by with the ECW Champion... Rose: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, he is the ECW Champion... Shelton Benjamin! And Shelton, last Sunday night at Night of Champions you lost to John Morrison. Now at Summerslam, you have to face Morrison with the ECW Championship on the line. How do you feel about putting up the gold against a man that already has a win over you? Benjamin: Wait a minute... what match were you watching on Sunday night? I was robbed! I had John Morrison beat, until Tommy Dreamer and Mick Foley stuck their noses in. If that had been a fair match, Armando Estrada would still be general manager, and I wouldn’t have to be dealing with John Morrison and Mick Foley anymore. But I’m not worrying about John Morrison. If Mick Foley plays by the rules, and the match at Summerslam is nothing but me and Morrison one on one... then I’ll still be the ECW Champion when it’s all said and done. -------------------- Balls Mahoney and Stevie Richards v Deuce and Domino The ECW Originals Mahoney and Richards welcome Smackdown’s Deuce and Domino to the Land of Extreme. Former champions Deuce and Domino dominate early as expected, with their smash mouth offense causing damage early to Richards. Quick tags follow, as Deuce and Domino keep Richards trapped in their half of the ring. An Irish whip sends Richards off the ropes, but as he ducks a clothesline, he rocks Domino with a superkick. Both men slowly crawl towards their corner... here comes Deuce... here comes Balls! Balls bounces into the ring and starts cleaning house. He drives Deuce into the corner and starts rattling off the right hands... balls... balls... whoa... Balls! As Deuce slumps out of the corner, Domino runs right into a ballbreaker! Balls goes for the cover, 1... 2... 3! Balls Mahoney and Stevie Richards beat Deuce and Domino (C) -------------------- Backstage, the respective GMs of Raw and ECW are deep in conversation... Shane: Congratulations man. Mick Foley, ECW general manager. Who’d have thought that could happen? Foley: Uh... well thanks, I guess. Shane: Anyway... the reason I’m here is because you know about my Money in the Bank challenge right? Foley: I heard about it yeah. But I’m still not all that sure about how’s it’s going to work. Shane: It’s simple. You see, you start with four guys. The first two get eliminated by pinfall or submission. Then, the last two have to fight it out to climb the ladder and grab the briefcase. I mean... I thought you ECW guys would know about these kind of things. Foley: Oh I understand you. Shane: So... you picked the guy to represent ECW yet? Foley: Well no I haven’t. I figured we’d have a little four way of our own to decide. Shane: Oh? Well aslong as that washed up Tommy Dreamer isn’t involved, then I’m happy. Foley: Well he’s one of the four guys. Infact... that match is next. -------------------- Money in the Bank Challenge Qualifier Tommy Dreamer v Paul Burchill v Elijah Burke v The Miz These four know that going to Summerslam and grabbing the Money in the Bank briefcase could be a huge moment in their career. Dreamer starts of strong, getting several close pins on Miz as Burchill and Burke brawl with each other. Burchill eventually gets his hands on Dreamer, and the veteran is hit with a jumping neckbreaker that leaves him out on the floor. Burke and Burchill quickly get rid of Miz before again going at each other. At one point it looks like Burchill is going to Summerslam, as he nails Burke with the C4! Burchill goes for the pin, 1... 2... Dreamer makes the save! Dreamer now looks like he will take control, as he drives Burchill to the mat with the DDT! Miz is back up now too, but he walks into a spicoli driver! Dreamer has the competition beat and looks like he will represent ECW at Summerslam... until Elijah catches him from behind with the Elijah Experience! 1... 2... 3! Elijah Burke is going to Summerslam for a chance to grab the Money in the Bank briefcase! Elijah Burke beat Tommy Dreamer, Paul Burchill and The Miz (B-) -------------------- Again Anastacia Rose is standing by, this time with Tuesday Night Delight and his girl... Rose: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome m guest at this time, the number one contender for the ECW Championship... Tuesday Night Delight... John Morrison! And John, we now know that you will face Shelton Benjamin at Summerslam for the ECW Championship. But tonight John, you take on Smackdown’s JBL in our main event. What do you have to say about JBL and Shelton? Morrison: First I want to say I’m glad for Mick Foley. He’s got some great ideas about the future of ECW, and I hope he can pull them off. And at Summerslam, I will become the new face of Extreme. I will beat Shelton Benjamin, and I will end his sham of a title reign. As for tonight... JBL, I don’t know you so well... but I know that if you step into the palace of wisdom... you’re not going to have a pleasant stay. --------------------- John Morrison v John Bradshaw Layfield A battle between an old school brawler and the promise of a new generation. Morrison comes out flying, bouncing around the ring with spinning heel kicks and that trademark corkscrew moonsault. Morrison goes for a cover, 1... 2... kick out from JBL. A back and forth battle ensues, with JBL eventually gaining the advantage due to his superior brawling ability. He pummels Morrison in the corner with elbows and stiff right hands. JBL’s style seems to fit in pretty well on ECW. Wonder what awaits him in the draft? As the match builds towards it’s conclusion, JBL lines Morrison up for the clothesline from hell... but Morrison ducks... and catches JBL with a heel kick. The big man is staggered now, and Morrison looks to take advantage. Another split legged corkscrew moonsault brings a near fall, but Morrison is now going into for the kill. He kicks JBL in the midsection and bounces off the ropes... JBL with the clothesline! No... Morrison ducks again! Another kick... moonlight drive! Morrison connects, hooks the leg, 1... 2... 3! John Morrison scores a huge win over JBL! John Morrison beat John Bradshaw Layfield (B) Morrison and Kelly Kelly celebrate in the ring... Styles: A great win for John Morrison! I'm still trying to tweak things until I get to a style I'm happy with. I agree with you about the TV shows and PPV difference, and hopefully I can get that right. And hopefully I can keep Cena entertaining for you. I've got some things in mind for him, and it's good to have him back after missing so much time.

What a week it’s been for the Smackdown superstars. Last Sunday night, MVP won a fatal four way to defend his World Heavyweight Championship at the Great American Bash, but tonight in Atlanta, GA, he’s going to have to defend it again. Coach: Right. In an unbelievable act of favouritism, Teddy Long has said that tonight Matt Hardy will get an one on one shot at MVP for the title. Matt, along with Edge and The Undertaker had their shot last Sunday. Why does he get another shot? Cole: Well Matt Hardy won that 20 man battle royal a couple of weeks ago, he thought he was getting a singles match and it quickly became a four way. Now he gets his shot one on one. Coach: He’s had his shot, he shouldn’t be getting another one. Cole: Also last Monday night, Mr McMahon announced the 2008 draft. Everybody is eligible, maybe I’ll get lucky and you’ll be drafted somewhere. Coach: You wouldn’t stand a chance without me. 1... 2... YOU HEAR THE CLOCK TICKING... Cole: And what about this man? The champion, MVP. Will he be drafted away from Smackdown? Coach: I hope not. MVP’s the best thing on this show right now. MVP: The jaw droppin’, bottle poppin’, best damn World Heavyweight Champion in history is in the house! And last Sunday night, I knocked off three of the best superstars here on Smackdown. I mean... I singlehandedly took out The Undertaker, Edge and Matt Hardy. They came to fight... and they paid the price. And I stand alone at the top of the mountain. Matt Hardy... you think you can beat me one on one? You didn’t get it done last Sunday... and you ain’t gonna get it done tonight. When I’m finished with you Matt... hell, I may as well take Summerslam off. Cole: Wait a minute... here comes CM Punk! Punk, who scored a huge win over JBL last Sunday. Is CM Punk the man to face MVP at Summerslam? Coach: If he does, it won’t last long. Punk: Congratulations MVP. I mean you did it, you walked into the Great American Bash the champion, and you came out the Great American Bash the champion. But I don’t know if you noticed, but I also won at the Bash. I beat JBL. And since you think there’s nobody left to challenge you... how about me? MVP: You? You want to challenge me? Punk: I want to challenge whoever wins the match between you and Matt Hardy tonight. Whoever is the champion after tonight... faces me at Summerslam. MVP: Alright. Since I’m going to beat Matt tonight... I will face you at Summerslam. But you understand this Punk... when I beat you... there ain’t nobody left. I am the franchise playa, I am the World Heavyweight Champion... and at Summerslam... you’re just going to be another name on the list. -------------------- Finlay v Kevin Thorn The talent exchange again brings an unusual match up, as ECW’s Kevin Thorn takes on Smackdown’s Finlay. The Belfast brawler trades rights and lefts with Thorn for the early part of the match, until Thorn catches Finlay with a huge clothesline. With Finlay down hurt and Hornswoggle looking on, Thorn goes to work, focusing in on Finlay’s right arm with a number of holds and hard shots. Thorn looks to be in control and about ready to hit the crucifix powerbomb, until he is distracted by “that damn leprechaun” as Coach would say. Thorn grabs little Hornswoggle by the jacket, only for the little guy to wriggle out of it. In the confusion, Finlay grabs the shillelagh. As the referee tries to get Hornswoggle out of the ring, Thorn turns around and gets nailed! Thorn crumples to the mat, and Finlay gets the 3 count for another victory as the Irishman seems to have pout his Great American Bash disappointment behind him. Finlay beat Kevin Thorn (C+) Coach: This is getting ridiculous! How many times is that damn leprechaun going to get away with this?! What’s the rush? Edge: Did you see the four way at the Bash? Teddy: Of course I saw it. It was a hell of a match. A great advert for Smackdown. Edge: Yeah forget all that crap. Do you realise that I had that match won? I was about to be champion, until Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero stuck their noses in my business! Teddy: Well, you did cost them... Edge: That doesn’t matter! What matters is that I was robbed. I should be champion right now, but I’m not. Teddy: Well what do you want me to do about it playa? Edge: I want Mysterio... and I want him now! Teddy: Well let me tell you something playa... that’s not going to happen. You want Rey? You can have him... Edge: Alright! Teddy: At Summerslam! And unlike One Night Stand, those two boys of yours Hawkins and Ryder better not get involved... Edge: Or what? Teddy: Or I’ll fire you as well as them! Sydal quickly shows himself to be a daredevil high flyer, and a guy that could very quickly become a big part of the Cruiserweight division. Both men show each other a lot of respect, and Moore hits several high flying moves of his own. Headscissor takedowns, hurricanranas and top rope offence are all on show from these two. Moore had the match in control at one point, going to the top rope and almost hitting a huge legdrop. Sydal managed to dodge that move, and quickly had Moore lined up. Sydal quickly went to the top rope and nailed the shooting star press! Sydal got the 3 count, and kicked off his WWE career with a win on Smackdown. Matt Sydal beat Shannon Moore (C-) -------------------- Once again we go backstage to the general manager and his guest... Shane: So... you heard about my Money in the Bank challenge yeah? Teddy: I heard it playa. Sounds like quite a match. Shane: Oh it will be Teddy... it will be. It’ll be yet another example of how much better Raw is than Smackdown. I mean... let’s be honest, you’d have never thought of something like that. Teddy: Oh is that right? Shane: Yeah it is. Anyway... how’s CM Punk doing? Teddy: he’s doing great here on Smackdown. He beat JBL at the Bash, he’s going to face whoever the champion is at Summerslam... Shane: Wait, wait... you’re giving him a title shot? I mean... yeah I wanted him for Raw but, he’s have been a midcard guy at best on my show. Wow... CM Punk your champion? That could be embarrassing. Teddy: Listen Shane... why are you here tonight? I know all about your match, why are you here? Shane: I’m here to find out who you chose to be the Smackdown representative. Or are you going to do what Foley did and have a match. Teddy: I’ve made up my mind... I just haven’t told the guy yet. Shane: What? Teddy: I’ve decided that whoever loses the World Heavyweight Championship match tonight will be the guy to represent Smackdown. Shane: MVP or Matt Hardy? Teddy: That’s right. Shane: I can live with that. You mind if I stick around, see how that match turns out? However, the opportunistic champions soon find themselves out of their depth, as Kingston and Killings control the match early on. Killings tags in Kingston, who swings and misses with a trouble in paradise kick. Sensing their chance, Ryder knocks Killings off the apron, while Hawkins nails Kingston with a spear! The cheap shot of Killings proves enough to stop him making the save, as Hawkins goes for a cover... 1... 2... 3! Teddy Long forced me to go to ECW. Well I am not going to stand for this. That’s why next Tuesday night, I am issuing an open challenge to anybody on the ECW roster. I will be on Sci-Fi next week, and I challenge anybody with any guts to come out and face me one on one. You want to talk about extreme? Chavo, still angry and looking for revenge from Edge after what happened at the Bash, looks to take out his frustrations on Kidman. Kidman manages to gain control after Chavo misses with a dropkick. Kidman goes to work on him, and scored a long 2 count after a sit out spinebuster. Kidman goes to the top rope for what looks like tonight’s 2nd shooting star press, but Chavo dropkicks the ropes and Kidman goes crashing to the mat. Chavo quickly goes to the top rope himself, and this time his frog splash connects! 1... 2... 3! Chavo wins! Coach and his hatred for all things Guerrero and Mysterio is enraged, publicly declaring he hopes Chavo gets drafted as far away from Smackdown as possible. The big red machine manages to get in some offence, but Edge is clearly dominating this one. Kane struggles to get to his feet, and here comes Edge for the spear... but he runs right into a boot from Kane! Edge goes down, and now Kane is in charge. Hard rights and lefts rain down on Edge, as Kane looks to go in for the kill. He grabs Edge by the throat... has him up... but Edge manages to fight free. He comes out of the corner... spear! Spear! Edge hits the spear! This one is over... Coach: Goodnight Kane! Cole: Edge crawling towards Kane... BOOYAKA BOOYAKA Coach: What? I think you’re right. I think finally tonight is this night for Matt Hardy. But tonight they do battle over the biggest prize on Smackdown. Shows just how far they’ve come doesn’t it? Hardy is still suffering from the pounding he took at the Bash, and MVP gains an early advantage because of this. He focuses on Hardy’s lower spine, driving knee after knee and hitting a painful looking backbreaker. MVP then puts Hardy in a leg scissor hold, applying pressure to the spine. Hardy manages to battle out of this with countless back elbows, and then a dropkick while MVP was still on the mat. Hardy take control, and he hits right hands and kicks to the leg. He sends MVP off the ropes, and after ducking a right hand, nails the side effect! This could be it... 1... 2... no! MVP gets the shoulder up! Matt now sensing the title is there for the taking sets MVP up for the twist of fate... but the champion counters, sending Matt off the ropes and taking him down with a knee to the gut. This time it’s MVP off the ropes... but he misses with the drive by kick. Neither man can land that killer blow, but Hardy again goes for the twist of fate... but again MVP counters! This time he kicks Hardy in the gut... and nails the playmaker! The champion hooks the leg, 1... 2... 3! MVP again holds onto the title, but Hardy’s spot as a main eventer is surely secure? Welcome everybody to Monday Night Raw! I’m Jim Ross, my colleague as always is Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler, and King, so many questions have to be answered tonight. King: And one of the biggest ones is regarding the Canadian Bulldogs. These two punks have been picking a fight with Batista and the Big Show in recent weeks, and tonight we’re going to find out if they can hang with the big boys. JR: The tag team titles are on the line tonight, as is the Intercontinental Championship, we hope to hear from John Cena and Randy Orton, and we also hope to hear from Shawn Michaels after the challenge from Kurt Angle last week... TIME TO PLAY THE GAME King: Yeah but it sounds like we’re going to hear from the number one contender first. JR: The Game will meet Chris Jericho at Summerslam for the WWE Title, and I have a bad feeling about Jericho’s title reign lasting any longer. Triple H: Summerslam... put it in your diaries folks, because that is the day I finally get back the WWE Title. It’s been over three years since I held that title. In that time, I’ve been screwed over by various people... hell I even got screwed over by the fans. But I don’t give a damn about you people anymore... I don’t give a damn about Shawn Michaels... and I don’t give a damn about Chris Jericho. I turned to my family... I turned to Shane McMahon to finally get back the title... and now it’s finally in my grasp, no one is going to stop me... I’m sick and tired of listening to you go on and on. You want the title, we get it. But it’s not going to happen for you Hunter. I don’t care if you, Shane and that gopher Kennedy have to take me on 3 on 1... I came back to save the WWE, and... Triple H: That’s right... I forgot. You’re the saviour. You saved us all from Randy Orton... which isn’t a bad thing... and now you’re going to save Raw from me right? Well I got news for you Jericho... the only person that needs saving around here is you. Jericho: I need saved? Well when I beat your ass at Summerslam... I will consider myself and the WWE... saved! King: JR... the tension for this match is really starting to build! Candice and Melina are bound to meet at some point, but Jillian is the main focus of Candice tonight. After treating us all to her rendition of ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads’ (we are in Virginia after all), Jillian gains the upper hand and lands some hard shots to Candice’s face. Hair pulling and slapping ensues, with the King loving every second of it. Jillian nails a great facebuster that gets her a long two count, and it seems she could be in line for the win tonight. Candice however rallies and shows why she is a former Women’s Champion, getting a two count after a bulldog and eventually getting the three after the candywrapper. John Cena! John, last week you returned to action with a win over the Big Show... but I know the only thing on your mind right now is Randy Orton. With that in mind, the match is now set for the two of you at Summerslam. I have to ask you John, after being out for so long, are you physically ready to face Randy Orton, especially after what we saw him do to Cody Rhodes at the Great American Bash? Cena: Todd... I’ve never been more ready for a fight in my life! I can’t wait for Summerslam, I can’t wait to get my hands on Randy Orton. Orton, you attacked me 10 months ago... you stole my title and you put me on the shelf. Now I’m back, and you tried to attack me from behind again last week. Well tonight... I’ll be ready for you. Santino is fresh off a loss last week against Bobby Lashley, so both these men have points to prove tonight. With neither man being powerhouses, this match has more of a technical feel to it, with Santino in particular locking on a series of armbars and chinlocks, keeping Cody grounded and generally slowly the pace of the match right down. Cody tries to rally, hitting a great dropkick and a flying forearm, but Santino almost has the match won after a swinging neckbreaker. The two men battle back and forth, and after Cody manages to avoid Santino in the corner, he nails him with a snap DDT for the 3 count! Lashley came back intent on winning Carlito’s title. After having the Caribbean superstar beat at Night of Champions, only for Apolo to interfere and save the title for Carlito, tonight is finally the night for Lashley. With Apolo banned from ringside, Lashley is all power early on, throwing Carlito around the ring and constantly slamming him to the mat. Carlito tries to save the title by ducking out of the ring and escaping up the ramp, only for Lashley to give chase and sends him flying down the ramp with a huge right hand. Back in the ring, Carlito scores a low blow behind the referees back to give him the edge, and he immediately went for the pin only for Lashley to power out at 2. With Carlito now in control, he stomped away at Lashley and got another two count after a hard knee to the face. Lashley made it back to his feet, but Carlito remained in control, so much so that he went for the backstabber... only for Lashley to grab hold of the top rope and sends Carlito crashing off the mat. Lashley now went to work, getting a long two count after a spear, but Carlito was close enough to the ropes to put his foot on it. Once again Carlito’s title is saved by outside interference. Another man, no doubt from Puerto Rico, runs in and attacks Lashley just as the referee is about to get the three count. Lashley once again has been robbed... JR: Dammit! This is a set up! Carlito has set Lashley up again. He said there would be no Apolo, but whoever the hell this other guy is has just saved Carlito. King: You think that’s why Carlito asked for the title match to be pushed back a week, so this guy would be here? JR: You damn right I do! Last week I issued a challenge to Shawn Michaels. And Shawn... I said that if you still had it in you, then you’d be here tonight and you’d come out here and accept my challenge. Well Shawn... I don’t know if you’re here tonight. I been looking for you all day, and I didn’t see you anywhere in the back. But if you are here... then I want you to come out here right now. King: What do you think JR? Is he here? JR: I wasn’t sure if we’d ever see Shawn Michaels again after the beating he took from Triple H at One Night Stand. King: Well yeah but like Kurt Angle said, they faced each other 3 years ago and they left it tied at 1-1. Kurt wants a third match to end it once and for all. JR: I heard that but... wait... here he comes! Here comes Shawn Michaels! He’s here! HBK: Kurt... long time no see. Uh... let me get this straight. You and me had a couple of matches together about 3 years ago... you won one, I won one... and now you want a third to settle it? Angle: Yeah. HBK: Well I hate to break it to Kurt but... I don’t need this. I don’t know if you saw it but... at One Night Stand... I took a pretty big beating. My back is messed up, my neck hurts... I honestly don’t need to face you in a match. I’m enjoying having some time off right now, I’m enjoying spending some time with my family. I will be back at some point but... it’s not going to be against you at Summerslam. I’m sorry Kurt... you’re just going to have to get over this thing you have about us. It’s in the past... let’s just leave it there. Angle: I don’t think so Shawn. When I left the WWE, I left with a lot of unfinished business... and your name was at the top of my list. It’s been playing on my mind that we never settled things... and now I want to settle it. So what do you say Shawn? You still got it in you? You and me... one on one. Let’s end this thing once and for all. HBK: What’s wrong with you? You’re not listening to me Kurt... the answer is no. Angle: What’s the matter Shawn? When Triple H kicked your ass at One Night Stand... did you lose your smile again? I mean c’mon Shawn... you’re the showstopper! You’re the main event, you’re Mr Wrestlemania. Or is that who you used to be? Are you now just some up old has been, who can’t go anymore? JR: Oh! Sweet chin music! Sweet chin music! Michaels just laid out Angle! King: Oh my God! JR... I think Kurt’s out! HBK: Angle... I accept! King: What? JR: Michaels and Angle... at Summerslam! As Burke won the right to represent ECW in the Money in the Bank challenge, both men realise this could be an important match with Summerslam less than two weeks away. Both men combine to put on a great spectacle of a match, with Burke and Hardy both having a combination of high flying, faced paced attacks to go with toughness on the ground. Hardy comes flying out of the gate, taking Burke down and hitting a couple of nice legdrops and low dropkicks. He goes for a spinning heel kick, but Burke manages to counter, and he quickly follows it up with a hard kick to the back of the head. Burke goes on the attack, sending Hardy to the corner and following in with knees and nailing the Elijah Express. Jeff managed to get his foot on the rope to stop the count at two, but Burke is clearly in control at this stage. As both men battle back to their feet, Burke goes for the Elijah Experience... only for Jeff to counter. Hardy now looks to take control, hitting a twist of fate. Jeff climbs to the top rope and nails the swanton bomb! 1... 2... 3! Jeff Hardy beat Elijah Burke, and sends a message to Mr Kennedy and whoever Smackdown’s representative turns out to be that he won’t be giving up the Money in the Bank briefcase without a fight. Randy Orton! And Randy, we heard John Cena say earlier that he’s been waiting 10 months to get his hands on you and that... Orton: Save your breath, Maria... I heard what Cena had to say. John... you say you’re ready for Summerslam. You claim to be healthy again. But I think we both know that I will be ruthless in that ring. At Summerslam, I am going to finish the job I started 10 months ago. You think I wanted the title by you being injured? I wanted to beat you in the middle of the ring, I wanted to embarrass you, I wanted to humiliate you! And I wanted to take that WWE Title away from you. Instead I had it handed it to me by Vince McMahon. Well I’m going to set the record straight at Summerslam. I’m going to beat you to within an inch of your life, I’m going to put you back on the shelf... and I’m going to end any chance you ever had of being remembered in this business... as a legend. -------------------- World Tag Team Championship Match Canadian Bulldogs v Batista and Big Show The Bulldogs made it clear earlier that they wanted no part of Batista and Show. After costing Batista and Show their match with Kennedy and Triple H at the Bash, and trying to attack Big Show after last week’s main event, the young champions are right to be afraid. Wilson and Batista start the match, with the Animal dominating from the get go, driving his shoulder into the gut in the corner and nailing Wilson with a spinebuster. Wilson hurries for his corner and tags in Smith, who doesn’t fare much better as he is subjected to the same power from the Animal. The Bulldogs catch a break when Batista bounces off the ropes, only for Natalya to grab him by the foot. With Batista distracted, Smith hits a great dropkick that sends the Animal down. Smith and Wilson show great team work by making several quick tags and using all of the ref’s five count to execute several double team moves, paying particular attention to Batista’s left knee. Smith tags back in and after hitting a legdrop on the knee, he goes into his family heritage and locks on a sharpshooter! Batista is in agony, as he strains to reach the rope. The Animal reaches out... and eventually he does reach the rope to break the hold. The damage is done though, as Batista is having a hard time staying on his feet. He does however manage to reverse an Irish whip... and nail Smith with a spinebuster! Both men are down and trying to make it to their corner to make a tag. Here comes Wilson... but here comes Big Show! Show comes into the ring and nails Wilson with a hard right hand. Smith tries to get him from behind, but he runs into a big boot. The Bulldogs are reeling now, and their titles are in serious jeopardy. Wilson is grabbed by the throat and chokeslammed over the top rope... right on top of Natalya! Smith is all alone in the ring and he walks into yet another spinebuster! Batista gives Big Show the thumbs up... only for Show to give him the thumbs down. Batista has Smith up... Batista-bomb! Batista goes for the cover, Wilson tries to make the save but is cut off by Show... 1... 2... 3! JR: We’ve got new tag team champions! Cena, making only his second appearance in 10 months, takes the fight to Regal early. With both of these men being known as brawlers, it’s Cena that gains the early advantage with a flurry of right hands and a flying shoulder block. Cena goes for a five knuckle shuffle early, but he misses as Regal managed to roll out of the way. Missing the shuffle seems to have hurt Cena’s shoulder, and Regal uses his technical skills to go to work on it. Using a variety of holds and stretches, Regal is clearly doing some damage, as Cena continues to grimace and JR questions whether Cena really is 100% healthy after being out for so long. Regal continues to apply the pressure, and eventually the fight spills out on to the floor. Regal drives Cena shoulder first into the ringpost, and as Regal rolls back into the ring, Cena is still down on the floor. The referee starts to count as Regal posses, convinced he has this match won by countout. The referee makes it to nine... as Cena manages to roll back in and barely beat the count. Regal is still in control though, as he goes right back to work on that shoulder, driving the knee into the joint and again applying a stretch hold. The crowd starts to rally behind Cena, as he tries to mount a comeback. An right hand to the midsection rocks Regal, and another finally breaks the hold. Cena starts to hit some offence, rocking Regal with right hands and taking him down with a flying shoulder block. Regal is in trouble now as Cena comes off the ropes... and hits the five knuckle shuffle! Regal staggers back to his feet, dazed and confused... and he stumbles right into a FU! Cena hooks the leg, 1... 2... 3! John Cena beat William Regal (A*) JR: Cena has done it! John Cena beats William Regal! Hello everyone, I’m Joey Styles alongside my broadcast partner Tazz, tonight we are in Norfolk, VA and Tazz, everyone is searching for answers after what we saw last week. Tazz: Well everyone was in shock when Armando Estrada, our former GM came out after the main event with Umaga and the United States Champion decimated John Morrison. Styles: Morrison had just got a hard victory over JBL... who on Friday Night Smackdown issued an open challenge to anyone in the ECW roster. JBL said he was embarrassed to be here, he didn’t want the match with Morrison, said he was forced into it, now he wants a match under his terms. Tazz: Right and let me tell you, if JBL does anymore trash talking about ECW, I might step in the ring myself and answer his little challenge. Styles: We hope to hear from John Morrison and the ECW Champion Shelton Benjamin during the broadcast... but right now it looks like we’re being joined by Umaga and Armando Estrada again! Tazz: What is this? I mean Estrada lost the GM job so now he’s out here to looking for revenge or something? Styles: Well... let’s wait and see what he has to say... Estrada: My name... haha... is Armando... Estrada! This is the United States Champion... the Samoan Bulldozer... Umaga! I have brought Umaga to ECW... to help me destroy ECW! ECW is my show! And Mick Foley... you took that away from me. You wouldn’t even face me one on one in the ring. You had to get John Morrison to do it for you. You Foley... are washed up! You are too old to be in charge of ECW! This was my show! And I want it back! So Foley... if you have any guts, you will put Umaga into the ECW Title match at Summerslam! Styles: What? Umaga’s a Smackdown guy? Tazz: Is he asking for a triple threat between Shelton Benjamin, John Morrison and Umaga? Styles: That’s what it sounds like. Estrada: C’mon Foley! Styles: Well here comes the general manager of ECW... Mick Foley! Tazz: Surely Mick’s not going to agree to this? He can’t agree to this! Styles: Well... Mick Foley has been known for his... shall we say, eccentricity in the past. Foley: Wait a second... I took a lot of head shots over the course of my career, so let me make sure I understand this. You want me to put Umaga... in the ECW Title match at Summerslam? Estrada: Si my friend... si. Foley: Well as far as I’m concerned, Umaga is a Smackdown superstar... currently the United States Champion, which is a Smackdown belt... so I don’t see any reason whatsoever for me to put Umaga in the title match. Now if Umaga gets drafted to ECW this Monday, then he has the right to earn a future title shot... after Summerslam. So what I suggest you two do is get out my show... right now! Estrada: What’s the matter Foley... you not got the cojones? Foley: You think I’m scared of Umaga? I’ve been to hell and back over the course of my, career, and I will not be intimidated by you or your friend here. Estrada: So why won’t you put Umaga in the match? Foley: Alright... alright fine. Umaga can be in the ECW Title match at Summerslam. But when he loses... and trust me, he will lose... I don’t ever want to see you or him on ECW ever again! Estrada: We have a deal my friend... but you may be the ECW general manager... but once Umaga is the champion... I will be in control once again! Haha! Tazz: What the... I don’t get this! Styles: The ECW Championship match at Summerslam... is now a triple threat match? Tazz: This is unbelievable! -------------------- Big Daddy V v Colt Cabana Last week Cabana made his debut on ECW and grabbed a win over Matt Striker. Striker has now sent Big Daddy V to the ring to gain a measure of revenge for that loss, but Striker has returned the favour and is in V’s corner for this match. Much like last week, Cabana bounces out the box and takes it to his opponent. While he had success against Striker, V isn’t in the mood for Colt’s antics and he pounds the newcomer to the mat. V then drops an elbow, crushing the ribs of Colt and getting a long two count. The match continues with V again showing nothing but power, sending Cabana off the ropes and catching him in a side slam for yet another two count. Cabana is clearly in a bad way, and when Big Daddy V sends him to the corner and lines him up for the splash, it does not look good. V charges in... and engulfs Colt in the corner! Cabana slumps to the mat, and this one has got to be over. V wants to go for the cover, but Striker on the outside wants more. Still enraged from his loss last week, Striker wants another splash in the corner to teach Colt a lesson. V props Colt up, gives him a slap across the chest for good measure and then walks to the other corner. Again he lines Colt up... here he comes... no! Cabana managed to avoid the contact! And now he goes for the roll up... 1... 2... 3! Another upset win for the newcomer Colt Cabana! Striker is furious, while V can barely believe it. Cabana wins again! Champ, earlier tonight we heard Mick Foley announce that Umaga has been added to the ECW Championship match at Summerslam. Now that you’ve got both John Morrison and Umaga chasing after your title, aren’t you even more worried now that you’ll lose the belt at Summerslam? Benjamin: More worried? I was never worried in the first place. I am the gold standard! I’ve came through countless triple threat matches in the past, hell I won the ECW Championship in a triple threat at Wrestlemania! You think I’m going to be intimidated by Umaga? I’ll let Umaga and John Morrison beat the hell out of each other, and then that’s when I’ll strike. I don’t need no favours from any general manager... I’m the gold standard and the gold is staying around my waist! -------------------- Paul Burchill v Ron Killings Killings has had a relative amount of success on Smackdown, both in teaming with Kofi Kingston and in singles competition. Burchill has been impressive since debuting on ECW, and to this date he has only ever been pinned by Tommy Dreamer and John Morrison. Kingston goes on the attack early, with a combination of kicks and suplexes. Killings goes to the top rope to try do more damage, but Burchill makes Killings miss his attempted spinning heel kick off the top and Killings hits the mat hard. Burchill senses his chance and goes on the attack, driving Killings to the corner and pummelling him with brutal right hands. Burchill continues the punishment, nailing Killings with a hard backbreaker and the getting a two count after a great powerslam. Killings is barely holding on, and things get worse as he hits a jumping neckbreaker, but Killings manages to again get the shoulder up at 2. Killings tries to rally, scoring right hands and nailing Burchill with a dropkick. It looks like Killings could be about to get himself back into the match, but Burchill caught him and nailed the C4! Killings is down and out, and Burchill gets the three count for another impressive victory. I mean... Umaga? How the hell can you agree to that? Foley: Wait a second... what was all that talk earlier about you not being worried? Benjamin: Forget that! I’m asking you right now, what is going on in your head? Foley: What’s the matter champ? Is the gold standard not up to the challenge now? But the honest truth is that I don’t want Umaga anyway near the ECW Title. But I can’t stand there and backdown from a challenge like that. And as the ECW Champion... neither can you. Benjamin: This is all a conspiracy isn’t it? You just want that title off of me. You know I can beat your boy Morrison. Me and Morrison, one on one, no one getting involved... you know he can’t handle that. Well it ain’t going to happen Mick. Foley: Conspiracy theory? Benjamin: I ain’t gonna let it happen Mick. You, Morrison, Umaga, Estrada... I don’t care if you’re all against me... this is my show! -------------------- Styles: Wow... a conspiracy theory? Tazz: You’re not buying that are you Joey? Styles: Well we couldn’t understand earlier why Mick Foley would agree to Umaga being involved. Tazz: Yeah but... well... no, I’m not buying it. Styles: Well here comes JBL making his way down to the ring from his limo. JBL, who lost to John Morrison in our main event last week, issued an open challenge last Friday night on Smackdown. Tazz: Right and he was pretty disrespectful about ECW. Styles: We’re waiting right now to find out just who will answer the challenge. Tazz: Who’s it going to be? Styles: Tommy Dreamer! Tazz: Well if anybody ain’t gonna stand for someone bad-mouthing ECW, it’s that guy! Tommy Dreamer v John Bradshaw Layfield There could only be one man to answer an open challenge from a guy who disrespected the name, brand and history like JBL did. Dreamer is the heart and soul of ECW, and he was out to show JBL exactly what that meant. Dreamer starts the match like a man possessed, hitting JBL with a flurry of rights and lefts. JBL tries to cower in the corner, using the referee as protection and taking several rope breaks to try and break Dreamer’s momentum. At first the tactic doesn’t work as every time JBL leaves the corner, Dreamer goes right back to work on him. It looks like Dreamer is about to pound his way to victory, but JBL is a hell of a brawler too, and he saw an opening and took it when he caught Dreamer with an elbow in the corner. JBL went to work with his superior power, sticking the boots to Dreamer and nailing him with hard right hands. JBL eventually starts to focus on Dreamer’s back, using clubbing blows and Russian leg sweeps to do damage. Dreamer is clearly in a lot of pain, and the match seems to be slipping away from him. JBL has Dreamer lined up, and he pulls him in for a clothesline from hell... but Dreamer ducks... and he nails the DDT! Both men are down, but JBL seems dazed. Dreamer starts to crawl towards him... 1... 2... but JBL kicks out! It took Dreamer too long to get over and cover him. With the crowd and the always impartial Tazz cheering him on, Dreamer tries to hit another DDT. He gets JBL up, goes for the DDT... but JBL counters and sends Dreamer off the ropes... clothesline from hell! JBL almost takes Dreamer’s head off, and he slumps on top of Dreamer... 1... 2... 3! JBL gets a hard fought victory over Tommy Dreamer, but JBL knows he has been in a fight. John Bradshaw Layfield beat Tommy Dreamer (B-) -------------------- Backstage, Anastacia Rose is standing by with John Morrison... Rose: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time... Tuesday Night Delight, John Morrison! And John, earlier on we found out that Mick Foley has agreed to give Umaga a spot in the ECW Title match at Summerslam. Has this affected your chances of winning the ECW Title? Morrison: Of course it does. Any triple threat match means you can be beaten without being pinned. But I know it is my destiny to become ECW Champion again. I did what Mick Foley needed me to do... and I trust him. I will bring the ECW Championship back to the palace of wisdom... and then I doubt we’ll be seeing anymore of Umaga. --------------------- Shelton Benjamin v Kane Kane scored a huge win over Edge last Friday night on Smackdown (even if he did get an assist from a Rey Mysterio distraction) and he comes to ECW to try and grab a win over the ECW Champion in non title action. Benjamin, still mad at the decision to add Umaga to the ECW Title match at Summerslam, comes out looking to hurt the big red machine, but Kane proves too strong in the early going. He hits Benjamin with uppercuts and sends him down with a boot to the face. Kane then looks to go to the top rope, and he again puts Benjamin down with a flying clothesline. Benjamin is all over the place, and he heads for the relative safety of the floor while he tries to regroup. Kane follows him out, and the beating continues on the floor. Kane props Benjamin up against the turnbuckle, but Shelton ducks his attempted clothesline and Kane rattles his arm of the post. Benjamin senses the weakness and goes on the attack, using a combination of high impact and aerial moves to cause further damage to Kane’s arm. Benjamin continues to go to work on the arm, with Joey Styles noting it may take away Kane’s ability to hit Benjamin with the chokeslam later on. Benjamin looks like he has cause enough damage, and he goes for the paydirt to finish Kane off... but Kane shows a huge amount of strength to catch Benjamin in mid air and drive him to the mat. With only one good arm, Kane starts to use his feet more, nailing Benjamin with boots to the face and then getting a two count after a big legdrop. Kane calls for the chokeslam, but when he goes to lift Benjamin, the pain is too much for him to overcome and he has to release his hold on Benjamin’s throat. Benjamin quickly takes advantage by this time nailing Kane with paydirt! Kane is down, Benjamin goes for the cover, 1... 2... but Kane kicks out! Benjamin can’t believe it! The champion has had enough apparently as he goes to the outside and grabs the ECW Championship. Shelton is about to rattle the tile off Kane’s skull when... Tazz: C’mon Shelton... don’t do this! Styles: No! No... wait... Tazz: It’s Morrison! Shelton Benjamin v Kane ended in a no contest (B+) John Morrison hits the ring, not only to save Kane but to get his hands on the champion. Morrison flies into the ring and hits Benjamin with a corkscrew heel kick, sending both the title belt and the champion to the mat. Morrison tries to help Kane back to his feet when... Styles: What the... Tazz: Umaga! Styles: Turn around John! Umaga has sneaked into the ring and is again standing behind Morrison. Much like last week, Morrison turns around and walks right into a Samoan spike! For the second week in a row Umaga has laid out John Morrison. By this time Shelton Benjamin is back on his feet, ECW title in hand. He swings at Umaga... only for Umaga to duck... Samoan drop! Umaga puts down Benjamin! Kane is still down writhing in pain after his match, Morrison and Benjamin are both down at the hands of Umaga... and the man Mick Foley was taunted into giving a title shot is standing tall in the ring, holding the ECW Championship! Styles: I... I can;t believe it! For the second week in a row, Umaga has destroyed everything in his path! Tazz: This is bad news for Summerslam. We thought we’d gotten rid of Armando Estrada... but we didn’t figure on him coming back with Umaga. Styles: Well... thank you for joining us folks. By sure to check into the draft this Monday on Raw, and join us as always for ECW on Sci-Fi next Tuesday night. Tonight on Friday Night Smackdown, we continue the countdown to the biggest blockbuster of the summer! Welcome to Smackdown! We’re coming to you from Norfolk, VA, and with the draft next Monday night live on Raw, tonight could be the last night for a lot of the Smackdown roster. Coach: As long as Smackdown holds on to MVP we’ll be alright. Cole: It would be a huge blow if we lost the World Heavyweight Champion... BOOYAKA BOOYAKA Cole: And it would also be a huge blow if we lost Rey Mysterio! Coach: Now this guy we can live without. I hope we see this guy get drafted somewhere else, things would be a whole lot easier without Rey Mysterio. Cole: Rey Mysterio has spent every moment of his WWE career as a member of the Smackdown roster. He faces Edge at Summerslam, but will he do it as a Smackdown superstar? Mysterio: You know... last week I heard Edge say he wants to face me at Summerslam. Edge... you’ve done so much to me and my friends over the last few months. I mean... you used Vickie to keep yourself champion, and when that didn’t work out, you set up a fake wedding just so you could humiliate her. You attacked me... you attacked Chavo... then we had a steel cage match at One Night Stand. But you couldn’t just take me on one on one could you Edge? You had to get your boys Hawkins and Ryder involved. They got into the cage, and then I got beat up by three guys. Then at the Great American Bash you cost me and Chavo the tag team titles. You know what Edge? It all ends at Summerslam! At Summerslam... YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME Cole: Well... here comes the Rated R Superstar, Edge. The man who challenged Rey Mysterio for a match at Summerslam. Coach: As someone once said, business just picked up! Edge: Rey... I am sick and tired of listening to you whine and complain. Everything you’re complaining about, the cage match at One Night Stand, the tag match at the Bash, hell even the wedding... they all mean nothing compared to what you and Chavo did to me at the Bash. You cost me the World Heavyweight Championship! I have been dying to get back the title. I have been chasing that belt ever since Wrestlemania. I finally have it in my grasp... and you took it away from me. That’s why at Summerslam... I’m not just going to be you Rey... I’m going to hurt. I’m going to embarrass you... and I’m going hurt and embarrass Chavo as well. And it starts tonight. You go back there, and you tell Chavo, I want him in the ring tonight! Mysterio: You... and Chavo tonight? Edge: You heard me. Mysterio: Well... instead of Chavo... how about you and me? Teddy: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold on playas! Hold on a second! Now I know you two hate each other... I’m fine with that. You two wanna fight? I’m fine with that too. But you gonna do it under my terms. Edge: Terms? What do you mean terms? Teddy: Let me break it down for you playa. You see last week I said you could have a match with Rey at Summerslam... Edge: Yeah... Teddy: But I didn’t say what kind of match it was going to be. It’s going to be you Edge... and you Rey Mysterio... in a no holds barred match! Edge... I warned you last week that if your boys Hawkins and Ryder got involved they’d be fired... and I stand by that. Rey... the same applies to you. If Chavo gets involved... he’s gone too. I don’t mind you two going out there and killing each other... but you gonna do it without any interference. And Edge... you get your wish... you and Chavo Guerrero, one on one, tonight! Cole: A huge announcement from Smackdown GM Teddy Long! Rey Mysterio and Edge... no holds barred! Coach: Yeah but I hope Rey is watching Edge and Chavo tonight, then he’ll get a taste of what he’s in for at Summerslam. -------------------- Gregory Helms v Matt Sydal Sydal made an impressive debut last week, beating Shannon Moore in his first Smackdown match. Helms has been on a roll since he came back from injury, and he has his sights firmly set on Brian Kendrick and the Cruiserweight Championship. The match starts at a fast pace, with Sydal constantly going to the air and Helms trying to keep the match grounded. Sydal hits a great head scissor takedown, and Helms is visibly rattled from the attack of the newcomer. Sydal keeps up the offense, hitting a great hurricanrana and getting a close two count out of it. Helms rolls to the floor to try and regroup, but Sydal follows him out with a suicide dive over the top rope. Sydal goes to the top rope looking to nail a moonsault off the top rope to the floor... but Helms moves out of harms way and Sydal comes crashing down to the floor. Helms looks to take advantage, rolling Sydal into the ring and quickly going for the cover after a neckbreaker. Sydal holds on, but Helms is in control now, and he again gets a two count after a Russian leg sweep. The quick pins are taking their toll on Sydal, but he manages to block the nightmare on Helms street. Sydal now goes on the attack, and he comes off the top rope with a double knee smash. Helms is now the on hanging on, and when he gets caught by an enziguri, the end is near. Sydal goes to the top rope, looking for the shooting star press... but Helms gets the knees up! Sydal is in pain, and this time Helms does hit the nightmare on Helms street for the three count. Gregory Helms beat Matt Sydal (C) -------------------- Backstage, Teddy Long and Matt Hardy are talking in the GM’s office... Teddy: So... what do you say playa? Matt: I dunno man... I dunno if I can do that to my brother. Teddy: Well... I can dig that but... if you want to take it to the next level... you gotta be ruthless. You can’t let a thing like family stand in your way. Matt: The next level? Teddy: Think about it playa... Matt Hardy, Mr Money in the Bank! Matt: That does sound pretty good. Teddy: You damn right it does! So... are you going to be Smackdown’s representative in the Money in the Bank challenge? Matt: Alright... I’ll do it! Teddy: Alright playa! Way to go! And hey... if you bring that briefcase home with you, don’t think twice about using it on MVP. Matt: You got it Teddy... -------------------- Finlay v Matt Bentley Bentley hasn’t had much luck since arriving on Smackdown, failing to win a match yet. However, no one can fault Bentley for effort, continually putting in strong performances and getting more offense in on his opponents as the matches go on. Finlay is in no mood to lose tonight though, and while he pummels Bentley with stiff right hands, Cole and Coach spend most of their time debating the meaning of the strange video we saw after Finlay’s match last week. Bentley does manage to hit a few moves, landing a great belly to belly suplex and getting a two count out of a northern lights suplex. Bentley then goes for a superkick, but Finlay avoids the contact and nails Bentley with a fireman carry slam. Bentley barely gets the shoulder up, but it’s only a matter of time before Finlay finishes him off. Bentley staggers back to his feet, and Finlay catches him with the Celtic cross! 1... 2... 3! Finlay picks up his second straight win in dominant fashion. CM Punk! And Punk, we are just over one week away from Summerslam, and you’re first shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. How are you feeling about the match? Punk: I’m feeling confident. I’m feeling like I’m ready to do exactly what I came to Smackdown to do... win the World Heavyweight Championship. MVP... you think you can send me a message by attacking Matt Hardy last week? I won’t be intimidated MVP. You can’t scare me. I’ve been through too much, I’ve sacrificed too much, I’ve came too far to let a high priced poser like you get in my way. Summerslam is where I fulfil my destiny. I’ve been ECW Champion... and now I’m going to be World Heavyweight Champion. -------------------- Deuce and Domino v Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore Jimmy and Shannon have had lousy luck lately in the singles ranks, so they looked to get back on track in tag team action tonight. Deuce and Domino have been looking to get back in the title hunt ever since losing the belts to Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero at Night of Champions. Deuce and Domino clearly have the power advantage, and they show it early on, focusing on Shannon Moore in particular, keeping him away from Jimmy. Deuce and Domino make several tags during the match, punishing Moore, including a vertical suplex from Domino and a flying crossbody from Deuce that brought a long two count. Jimmy does his best on the apron to rally the crowd behind Shannon, and eventually Moore manages to fight his way out of the corner, catching Domino with a spinning heel kick. Both men went down, and despite Deuce’s best efforts, Moore made the tag. Jimmy comes into the ring sending Deuce and Domino down with right hands. After Shannon gets back on his feet and clothesline both himself and Deuce over the top rope, Jimmy goes to the top rope. He hits a great missile dropkick, and goes for the cover, 1... 2... no! Domino gets the shoulder up, but he doesn’t have much left. Domino staggers to the corner, but Jimmy follows him in and goes for an Irish whip. Domino reverses it, but Jimmy quickly makes it to the top rope... moonsault! Jimmy goes for the cover, 1... 2... 3! Jimmy and Shannon get the win! I know why you’re here playa. Kenny: Alright Teddy let me know... who am I facing at Summerslam? Teddy: Well Kenny... I gave it a lot of thought. I mean I know you wanted to go to the next level... Kenny: Yeah... Teddy: You wanted to take the next step in your career... Kenny: Yeah... Teddy: You wanted a big Summerslam moment... Kenny: Dammit Teddy, who is it? Teddy: It’s gonna be you... one on one with... Kenny: Who? Teddy: The Undertaker! Kenny: Th... the... the Undertaker? Teddy: That’s right. And hey... I hope it’s a hell of a match! --------------------- Brian Kendrick v Nunzio The Cruiserweight Champion Kendrick takes on ECW’s Nunzio, a match that has always entertained in the past. Nunzio, much like Matt Bentley earlier, hasn’t had much luck in picking up victories on TV lately, but he looks determined to make tonight the night he scores a big upset win over the champion. Kendrick comes out flying though, wasting no time in taking Nunzio down with a great dropkick. Kendrick continues to push for a quick victory with rights and lefts and a hurricanranra. Nunzio barely kicks out, but this one looks like it’s not going to last long. Kendrick thinks he has the match in control, so he runs Nunzio into the corner... only for Nunzio to grab hold of the top rope and sends Kendrick face first into the mat. Nunzio moves quickly to take advantage, paying particular attention to Kendrick’s knee. Eventually Nunzio locks on a Boston crab, and Kendrick is in trouble. The champion reaches for the ropes, but Nunzio has the hold locked in tight. Kendrick strains and claws at the bottom rope... and eventually he gets there. Nunzio is forced to release the hold, but the damage is done. Kendrick limps around the ring, with Nunzio using his technical skills to again go to work on the knee. Nunzio sends Kendrick to the corner, but as Nunzio charges in, Kendrick gets the elbow up. He hits Nunzio with a right hand, and as the Italian is dazzled, Kendrick runs him to the corner for a sliced bread out of nowhere. Kendrick goes for the cover, 1... 2... 3! Another win for the Cruiserweight Champion. Brian Kendrick beat Nunzio (C+) -------------------- Backstage, Josh Matthews is standing by... Josh: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, the World Heavyweight Champion, MVP! And champ, in just over one weeks time, you will put that title on the line against CM Punk. Earlier we heard CM Punk say... MVP: Whoa, whoa... stop man, stop. I heard what Punk had to say. And frankly... I don’t have time for him. I got a huge sponsorship deal coming up. I can’t be thinking about him right now. Infact... I would go as far to say that I’m looking past CM Punk. I got my mind on bigger and better things. CM Punk... to me, he’s just another chump. He’s just another failed attempt from Teddy Long to get my title off of me. But like I say every time... it ain’t gonna work. Punk... I’m better than you! --------------------- Edge v Chavo Guerrero They used to call each other family, but now they couldn’t be further away. Edge may be facing Rey Mysterio at Summerslam, but Chavo could hate Edge even more then Rey. The bad blood looks like it’s going to spill over in this match, as both men brutalize each other. Edge is trying to send Rey a message, showing the damage he can do in a regular match will be nothing compared to what he will do in a no holds barred match. Chavo, banned from getting involved in the match at Summerslam, takes this chance to gain a measure of revenge. Both men batter each other from the get go, with Edge hitting a succession of hard shots in the corner and Chavo firing back with a tornado DDT. The back and forth action continues as Chavo nails a tilt a whirl backbreaker, only for Edge to hit back a few minutes later with a DDT. Edge now looks to slow the pace down with a camel clutch. Chavo is feeling the pressure, and the referee asks him countless times if he wants to submit. The crowd starts making some noise, trying to encourage Chavo to break out of the hold. Chavo looks like he’s about to break free, so Edge drives his knee into the spine. Chavo is down and hurt, and Edge decides it’s time to end it. He crouches in the corner, lining Chavo up, readying himself for the spear. Chavo gets back to his feet... here comes Edge... he misses! Edge goes shoulder first into the turnbuckle! Chavo rolls him up from behind, 1... 2... Edge kicks out! The crowd is fully behind Chavo now, and he drives Edge to the mat with a facebuster. Now it’s Chavo turn to try and it, as he goes to the top rope for the frog splash. Chavo is primed... here he comes... spear! Spear! Edge got back on his feet and caught Chavo with a mid air spear! Edge hooks the leg, 1... 2... 3! Edge has done it, he’s beat Chavo. Edge beat Chavo Guerrero (B+) But it’s not over yet. Edge wants to hurt and embarrass Chavo as a message for Rey. Edge goes to the outside and grabs two chairs. A con-chair-to looks a formality at this point... Cole: This is despicable. There’s no need for this. Coach: Mysterio, I hope you’re watching. This is what you’ve got in store at Summerslam. Cole: Edge... lining Chavo up... hey... wait... it’s Rey! Mysterio rushes down the ramp and hits the ring, causing Edge to turn around and swing at Rey. Rey ducks the chair shot, and bounces off the ropes... dropkick sends the chair into Edge’s face! Edge just took the chair right off his face. Here comes Mysterio... off the top rope... droppin’ da dime! Edge tries to grab the middle rope to pull himself up, but Rey sees it as a chance. Rey... off the ropes... 61... no! Cole: Oh! Hawkins just nailed Rey with the chair! Coach: Good. About time these guys showed up. The tag team champions hit the ring to make the save. Hawkins nails Rey with a chair as he goes for the 619. Ryder helps Edge back to his feet, as Chavo gets back on his feet... oh! A sick shot from Hawkins to Chavo. Chavo goes down again, but Edge has his sights set on Rey. Rey is down... Chavo is down, and now there’s no one that can stop Edge. He carefully places a chair under Rey’s head... he holds another chair high in the air. Here it comes... oh! Con-chair-to to Mysterio! Edge has just destroyed Rey! Cole: Dammit! We need some help out here. Chavo and Rey are down. We need EMTs or something. Coach: I love it! After that shot, Rey might not even make it to Summerslam. ---------------------- We return from commercial with Mark Henry already in the ring... Cole: There you see Mark Henry, the World’s strongest man. Henry is set to go one on one... with the man making his way to the ring... CM Punk! Coach: CM Punk, who for my money is the worst number one contender in Smackdown history. Cole: Punk going to go one on one with Henry tonight, and he will face MVP at Summerslam for the Wordl heavyweight Championship... 1, 2, YOU HEAR THE CLOCK TICKING... Cole: And... well it seems we are being joined by the champion MVP. MVP: I don’t need to scout this fool CM Punk. I keep telling you, he’s not in my league... Mark Henry v CM Punk Tonight’s main event sees the number one contender face off against a man that has been an ally of the champ in recent weeks. The match starts out with Punk showing he can go toe to toe when it comes to right hands. Henry is staggered, and Punk tries to end it quickly by going for the GTS, but Henry nails him with a clubbing blow to the back. Punk tries multiple times to get at Henry, but the big man is just too powerful and he keeps Punk at bay. Punk eventually gets too close, and Henry decks him with a vicious headbut. He follows up with several hard Irish whips to the corner, with Punk’s back taking a lot of damage. After one particularly vicious Irish whip, Henry charges Punk in the corner, but Punk manages to move out of harms way. He quickly climbs to the second and jumps at Henry... only to be caught in a bearhug. Henry locks it in, squeezing the life out of Punk, with Coach and MVP loving the view from the announce desk. Henry eventually tosses Punk to the floor infront of the announce desk. MVP starts to trash talk the fallen Punk... only for Punk to nail him with a kick across the head, sending the champ sprawling across the announce desk. As Coach protests the “unprovoked attack”, Punk takes the fight to Henry back in the ring. A dropkick to the knee followed up by several kicks to the thigh weaken Henry, but the big man again shows how powerful he is by catching Punk and press slamming him hard to the mat. Henry bounces off the ropes looking for the big splash... but he misses! Punk now goes on the attack, keeping Henry grounded with rights and lefts and kicks to the face. Henry staggers to the corner and tries to cover up, but Punk stays on him, driving the knee into the face. He tries for the bulldog, but Henry manages to free himself... only for Punk to nail him with an enziguri! Henry is dazed and Punk goes to the top rope for a crossbody... but again Henry catches him. Cole shouts out in fear “here comes the World’s strongest slam!”. Henry goes for it... but Punk counters down the back. He goes low and... he has him up! Punk... GTS! GTS! Punk nails the GTS! He goes for the cover... Cole: Punk goes for the cover... 1... 2... Coach: MVP’s in the ring! Cole: Oh! MVP with boots to Punk. The champion attacking the number one contender! CM Punk beat Mark Henry by DQ (B) MVP goes to work on Punk, delivering the boots to his Summerslam opponent. Punk tries to get to his feet... but MVP nails him with the drive by kick! Punk’s head crashes off the mat, but it’s not over yet. Henry bounces off the ropes... huge splash! MVP and Henry have decimated CM Punk. Punk is down and not moving... Cole: God we... we need some help out here. CM Punk could have a concussion, he could have cracked ribs... we need some help out here! Coach: You see Punk... this is Smackdown! We don’t mess around here. You put your hands on the champ, you pay the price! Cole: We’re out of time folks. CM Punk is down and he is hurt. Welcome to this special edition of Raw, the 2008 WWE Draft! Superstars from all three brands are here tonight, and the landscape of the WWE is about to change. King: I gotta say JR, I love these nights! I mean who’s Raw gonna get? And who are we gonna lose? JR... you or I could be leaving Raw tonight! JR: Well let’s hope that doesn’t happen. I don’t think I could commentate next to the Coach. Well like I said, all three brands are here tonight, so let’s go to out ECW Colleagues, Joey Styles and Tazz. Styles: Thanks JR, it’s great to be here on Raw tonight. Tazz, last year the draft wasn’t great to ECW, we’re hoping for a better year this year. Tazz: We got a great roster on ECW right now, maybe a few guys here and there could put us over the edge. I’m looking forward to it this year. Styles: Let’s hand it over to the Smackdown desk, Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman. Cole: Our thanks to the guys at ECW. We at Smackdown had a pretty rough year too, but our rosters looking good right now. We can’t afford to lose anybody right now. Coach: Well that’s what you think. Personally, I can think of a few guys we don’t need on Smackdown. Cole: Is one of them Rey Mysterio? Coach: He’s top of the list! Cole: Well folks we’re gonna get right to it tonight, with a 15 man over the top rope battle royal. Two draft picks are up for grabs in this match! Raw v ECW v Smackdown 15 Man Battle Royal The bell rings and the fists start flying as all 15 men start teeing off on each other, trying to win the first two draft picks of the night for their respective brands. Despite having issues with each other, Miz and Morrison rekindle their partnership for a while as they both try to eliminate JBL, who’s bad mouthing of ECW in recent weeks is still in everyone’s minds. The Bulldogs both target Kenny Dykstra, while Kendrick flies about the ring in an attempt to eliminate Mr Kennedy. John Cena is also making his presence felt, and it is he who scores the first elimination by dumping Kevin Thorn over the top rope. Cena and Edge then see each other from across the ring, and the fans go crazy as the memories of their great rivalry come flooding back. Both men throw a flurry of fists at each other, while over in the corner it seems everyone else is trying to eliminate Mark Henry. Henry manages to fight them off, and he turns around to come face to face with Big Daddy V. The commentators go wild at the thought of these two going at it, but neither man budges as the hit each other with right hands. Colt Cabana tries to get at V, but he runs into a huge clothesline from Henry. Kenny Dykstra takes advantage by eliminating Cabana, and it’s not looking good for ECW. More eliminations follow, as TJ Wilson is eliminated by Morrison and Jeff Hardy ditches Dykstra after a twist of fate. Big Daddy V is in trouble this time, as the remaining members try to eliminate him. They almost have him going, but it takes a final heave from Henry to dump him out. The action continues, as Cena gets JBL up on his shoulders and FUs him over the top rope. A flurry of eliminations happen, as Harry Smith dumps out Brian Kendrick, only for Miz and Morrison to come up from behind and ditch Smith. Miz then turns on Morrison and tries to eliminate his ECW colleague, when Hardy tosses Miz out. Cena, Kennedy, Hardy, Morrison then turn their attentions to Mark Henry, and it takes the collective might of all four of them to get the big man out. As Morrison and Kennedy go at it, Hardy turns around... spear! Spear! Edge just nailed Jeff with a spear... and then he dumps him over the top. We’re down to four, and Cena and Kennedy show some Raw togetherness and go to work on Edge. They combine to force Edge towards the rope, and it takes a dropkick from Morrison to send Edge out. Cena and Kennedy turn their attentions to Morrison... only for Kennedy to turn on Cena and throw him out! JR and King can’t believe how stupid Kennedy has been, and it gets worse when Kennedy turns into a spinning heel kick from Morrison and goes crashing to the floor! ECW wins! John Morrison has grabbed the first two draft picks of the night for ECW! John Morrison won the 15 Man Battle Royal (B) ECW wins two draft picks. Styles: Morrison has done it! Tazz: Alright! We got the first two draft picks right? Styles: That’s right... and here comes the computer to tell us who it’s going to be. Tazz: God I can’t wait... who is it? Styles: Kurt Angle! Tazz: You gotta be kiddin’ me! Kurt Angle! Styles: What a great way to start the night for ECW! The Olympic Hero! Tazz: Yeah but wait, we still got one more pick... Styles: Umaga? Tazz: I don’t believe it! The United States Champion? Styles: And the man who will face John Morrison and Shelton Benjamin for the ECW Title at Summerslam. Tazz: Well Mick Foley said that if Umaga lost at Summerslam he and Armando Estrada would be banned from ever coming into ECW again... and now it looks like we don’t have a choice, Umaga is an official member of the roster now. -------------------- Backstage, the chairman of the board is standing by with the general managers... Vince: Wow. Mick... congratulations. Two huge draft picks for ECW. Foley: Thanks Vince. Vince: Gentlemen... obviously the reason you’re all on Raw tonight is for the draft. Now I just want to you remind you that everyone is eligible to be drafted... including general managers. Shane: Whoa... general managers too? Teddy: So what happens if one of us gets drafted? Foley: Are we going to have marshal law on one of the brands? Vince: Gentlemen, gentlemen... we will cross that bridge if we come to it. Let’s just hope we don’t. Foley: Well... good luck guys. My brands winning so far. Teddy: It won’t be for long playa. Shane: That’s right. When this is all over, Raw’s gonna show why it’s the A show. Vince: That’s what I like to see... competition across the brands. Anyway... I’ll leave you three to it. Have a good night. -------------------- Raw v Smackdown Carlito v Matt Hardy The Intercontinental Champion Carlito goes head to head to head with Smackdown’s representative in the Money in the Bank challenge. Carlito was once again saved by outside interference last week, but with a draft pick on the line, disqualifications are out of the question. Hardy and Carlito start fast, trading right hands until Hardy gets the advantage with a headlock. Carlito sends him off the ropes, and a drop toe hold sends Hardy crashing to the floor. Once back in the ring, Carlito is in charge and he goes to work on Hardy in the corner, driving the shoulder into the midsection and then hitting a suplex off the top rope. Hardy takes a lot of damage to his back, and Carlito almost grabs the draft pick with a two count. Carlito looks to continue the punishment, slamming Hardy to the mat and then going to the top rope. Carlito goes for a legdrop, but Hardy rolls out of the way. Hardy looks to take advantage, and a great reverse DDT scores him a two count. Hardy is in control, and he ducks a right hand and then hits the side effect. Hardy looks to put Carlito away with the twist of fate... but Carlito counters and sends Hardy to the corner. Carlito goes for another suplex, but this time Hardy counters down the back... twist of fate! Hardy nails the twist of fate, goes for the cover, 1... 2... 3! Smackdown get their first draft pick! Matt Hardy beat Carlito (A) Smackdown wins a draft pick Coach: I can’t believe I’m actually pleased about something Matt Hardy did. Cole: Smackdown is on the board, and who are we going to get... Cole: Lashley! Coach: What the... Cole: A huge pick fro Smackdown! King: Yeah but look at Carlito, he’s laughing his ass off! JR: Well I guess this means Carlito doesn’t have to worry about Lashley taking the Intercontinental Title anymore. There hasn’t been another match signed, and now Lashley is on Smackdown. -------------------- Maria is backstage with the Olympic Hero... Maria: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, Kurt Angle! And Kurt, earlier tonight you were drafted to ECW. But I’m sure everyone wants to know about your match with Shawn Michaels at Summerslam. How do you feel after Shawn Michaels accepted your challenge last week by kicking you in the face? Angle: Well normally I’d pretty pissed off if someone kicked me in the face. But last week... last week I brought back some of the fire in Shawn Michales. And that’s what I want. I want the old Shawn back. I want the Shawn I beat at Wrestlemania 21. I want that Shawn Michaels back so that when I beat him at Summerslam... I know I’ll be ending this the right way. Shawn... I’ve waited 3 years for this chance... and I’m not going to let you ruin it for me. -------------------- ECW v Smackdown Elijah Burke v Chavo Guerrero Smackdown sends Chavo Guerrero to the ring to try make it two picks in a row, while ECW counter with their representative in the Money in the Bank challenge, Elijah Burke. Chavo gains an early advantage, countering a hip toss and then taking Burke down again with a slam. Burke shows great athleticism in countering a DDT then quickly taking it to the top rope, where he connects with a flying shoulder charge. Burke then shows his aggressive side by throwing Chavo shoulder first into the turnbuckle. Burke then goes for a back suplex, and he hooks the leg, 1... 2... Chavo kicks out, but he is clearly in pain. Burke continues to attack the shoulder, applying pressure with an armbar and then driving his knee into the joint. Chavo battles back to his feet, and with the crowd getting behind him, he manages to break the hold. Chavo sends Burke off the ropes and takes him down with a dropkick. Burke is quickly back on his feet, and when he ducks a Chavo clothesline... Elijah Experience! Burke nails it, hooks the leg, 1... 2... 3! Elijah Burke wins, and ECW get their third draft pick of the night. Elijah Burke beat Chavo Guerrero (B-) ECW wins a draft pick Tazz: Well... great job by Elijah Burke. Styles: A third draft pick for ECW. Tazz, I can’t remember a draft like this for us. Tazz: This one already beats the hell out of last years. Styles: So we look at the titan tron, who’s it going to be...? Tazz: Alright! Styles: The Cruiserweight Champion, Brian Kendrick! I mean we haven’t got one draft pick yet! What the hell’s going on?! Wilson: Uh... Mr McMahon? Shane: What? What do you guys want? Smith: Well... we were wondering... seeing as how we lost the tag team titles last week, if we could use our rematch clause next week. Shane: Next week? Wilson: If that’s OK with you of course. Shane: You two want Batista and Big Show next week for the titles? Smith: Yeah. Shane: Uh... yeah sure. Fine. You got it. But do me a favour? Make sure you win this time, huh? Smith: No problem Mr McMahon. Wilson: We won’t let you down. Shane: Alright fine. Get out of here. -------------------- Raw v Smackdown William Regal v Finlay These two veterans combine to deliver a stiff as hell match. Uppercuts start flying from the early moments, as both men strive to grab the advantage. Kicks to the gut, chops to the chest and knees to the face from both men follow, until Regal ends it with a hard kick to the side of the head. Regal keeps up the vicious offense with yet more knees to the head, and a series of hard right hands. Regal then locks on the Regal stretch, with Finlay trying desperately to reach the bottom rope. Regal pulls back on Finlay’s neck with all that he has, while Hornswoggle at ringside tries to encourage Finlay to make it to the ropes. Finlay strains and reaches out... and he gets there! Regal breaks the hold, but the damage is done. Regal looks set to finish Finlay off, until Hornswoggle makes an appearance on the apron. He attracts the attention of the referee, and while this is happening, Regal reaches into his trunks for a pair of brass knucks. As Coach goes insane at commentary over “that damn leprechaun!”, Finlay grabs the shillelagh. Regal swings with the knucks, but Finlay ducks, and he catches Regal square on the head with the club. Regal goes down, as Finlay goes for the cover, 1... 2... 3! Another draft pick for Smackdown! Finlay beat William Regal (B-) Smackdown wins a draft pick Coach: I... well I gotta say, Honrswoggle helped us out there. Cole: I don’t think I’ve ever heard you talk like this. First you’re praising Matt Hardy and now Hornswoggle. You’re not going to say how great Rey Mysterio is are you? Coach: let’s not get carried away here. I’m just glad we got another draft pick. Cole: Let’s find out who it is. We got Bobby Lashley, and now we’ve got... King: Haha! Yes! Cole: Santino? Coach: No! No... can we trade him back? King: No way. He’s your problem now! JR: I don’t think King has ever been happier at seeing someone leave Raw. Cole: Santino Marella is now a member of the Smackdown roster. -------------------- Backstage, Teddy Long is joined by one of Smackdown’s draft picks... Teddy: Hey... Lashley: One of these days MVP... I’m coming for you. MVP: You better realise one thing Lashley. Smackdown... that’s my show now. Burchill tries to go toe to toe with Batista, but the Animal is just too much for him. Burchill does gain the upper hand early on, but after he misses with a neckbreaker, the Animal takes control. He pummels Burchill, taking him to the corner and driving the shoulder into the midsection. He sends Burchill across the ring with an Irish whip, and when Burchill tries to leap out of the way, Batista catches him on his shoulder. He lines Burchill up... and plants him with a running powerslam! Batista goes for the cover, 1... 2... Burchill kicks out, but it’s only a matter of time. Burchill tires to pull himself back to his feet using the ropes, and as he staggers and turns around... spear! Batista hits the spear! Burchill is down and out... but the Animal’s not done yet. Thumbs up... thumbs down. Batista has Burchill up... Batista-bomb! Batista drives Burchill to the mat, goes for the cover, 1... 2... 3. Batista gets the win, and finally Raw has a draft pick tonight. Randy, this Sunday at Summerslam, you go one on one with John Cena... a match that John Cena has said he has been waiting 10 months for this match. Randy... are you ready for what John Cena says he has in store for you? Orton: A more appropriate question Todd... is whether or not John Cena is ready for me? Is John Cena physically ready to step into the ring with me? John... are you ready for this Sunday? Are you ready for the pain, and the anguish I’m going to put you through? I put you on the shelf, I go on to have one of the greatest years in WWE history... and you think you can just come back and put yourself back on top by beating me? I don’t think so John. This Sunday... I will hurt you. I will put you on the shelf again... and the age of Orton will start again. -------------------- Raw v Smackdown Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch v Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder The former tag team champions on Raw and the current tag team champions of Smackdown face off against each other with a draft pick on the line. Cade and Hawkins start the match, and quickly Cade finds himself in the wrong corner, and when the referee calls for a break on Hawkins, Ryder nails Cade behind the referee’s back. Cade quickly recovers though, and an atomic drop sends Hawkins down. Again though Ryder makes his presence on the apron felt, as he distracts Cade long enough for Hawkins to get back on his feet and nail him from behind. A succession of quick tags are made by the Smackdown champions, as they focus on keeping Cade away from Murdoch. Hawkins slams Cade to the mat, and makes the tag to Ryder who quickly goes to the top rope. Ryder... missile dropkick! Hooks the leg, 1... 2... Cade kicks out. Ryder senses they could have the match won, so he lines up Cade for a spear. Ryder charges in... but he runs into a big time spinebuster! Both men are down and crawling towards their corners. Cade reaches Murdoch just as Ryder makes it to Hawkins. Murdoch charges into the ring, knocking down both men with right hands, then sending Ryder flying with a back body drop. Murdoch eventually gets hold of Hawkins, and he soon has him set up for the ace of spades. Here it comes... no wait, Hawkins counters... spear! Ryder with a spear! Hawkins hooks the leg, 1... 2... Cade can’t make the save... 3! Hawkins and Ryder win yet another draft pick for Smackdown. I keep telling you Cole, the greatest tag team in Smackdown history right there. Cole: Well I’ll give Hawkins and Ryder some credit, they did win us a draft pick. There is nothing I can do about it. But there is one thing I can do. Estrada: Si? What’s that? Foley: Well with Umaga now being on ECW... that means the United States Championship now falls under my jurisdiction. And with that in mind... Have a nice day... you too Umaga. ----------------------- ECW v Smackdown Tommy Dreamer v Gregory Helms Smackdown and ECW have both had great nights as far as getting draft picks is concerned, with both so far gaining three new superstars. Dreamer and Helms go out looking to give their brand the edge, and this match quickly descends into a brawl. Helms is the badass of the cruiserweight division, and he shows why with a string of hard shots to Dreamer. Dreamer answers back with a bulldog, but the action sings back and forth as both men hit neckbreakers on each other. Dreamer goes for the DDT, but Helms manages to hold on to the top rope and save himself. Helms drives the knee into the face of Dreamer, then hits yet another neckbreaker for a 2 count. Helms continues to work on Dreamer’s neck, and a swinging neck breaker from the top rope brings another 2 count. Tazz makes the point that Dreamer has had neck problems in the past, while Coach claims this shows how great Helms’ strategy is. Helms continues to put the pressure on, but Dreamer eventually battles back. Dreamer slams Helms to the mat, and when Helms gets back to his feet... DDT! Dreamer hits the DDT, goes for the cover, 1... 2... 3! ECW wins again! Tommy Dreamer beat Gregory Helms (C+) ECW wins a draft pick Styles: What a night for ECW! This is our fourth draft pick! Tazz: Somebody up there must like us right now. Styles: ECW is cleaning up... and who are we gonna get this time? Styles: Oh! Kane! Tazz: The big red machine! He’s coming to ECW! Styles: Kane is a member of the ECW roster! -------------------- Backstage, Shane and Triple H are talking... Shane: Are you seeing this? 1 draft pick! 1! What the hell is going on?! Triple H: Why didn’t you put me in a match? Shane: No. I want you rested for this Sunday. Triple H: Rested? What you talking about rested? I could be in an iron match tonight and still beat Jericho on Sunday. Shane: Yeah well you better. Triple H: So Jericho’s up next yeah? Shane: Yeah it’s this champions match. Triple H: Well... maybe he’ll get you some draft picks. Shane: I can’t believe this... 1 pick? If you don’t win the title this Sunday, heads are going to roll. I’m not putting up with this. Triple H: Hey... relax. Just sit back, watch Jericho bust his ass... and then watch me take the title away from him this Sunday. --------------------- JR: Welcome back to Raw folks. We have one match left, the champions match, that’s worth two draft picks, and we could sure use them over here on Raw. King: Right. This has been a horrible night for Raw. We got one draft pick, which was Finlay, but we’ve lost Kurt Angle, Lashley and the Big Show. JR: We also lost Santino Marella... King: Yeah but I was happy to see him leave. JR: It’s been a rough night to say the least for Raw. Styles: Well so far it’s been a great night for ECW! Tazz: Man we are having a ball tonight. We got Kurt Angle, the Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick, Kane... we also got Umaga, which isn’t that great for Mick Foley... but we’ve had a great night so far. Styles: Another interesting point is we haven’t lost anybody either. Sorry to gloat guys, but it’s a great night for ECW. Cole: Well a pretty even night for Smackdown so far. Coach: What? We’ve had a horrible night! First we lost Umaga, then we gain Santino Marella, then Lashley and the Big Show turn up. We did manage to get rid of Brian Kendrick which is a good thing, but the rest of the draft has been horrible for us. Cole: Well I’m looking forward to seeing Big Show and Lashley on Smackdown... and I’m looking forward to the champions match as well. Raw v ECW v Smackdown Chris Jericho v Shelton Benjamin v Montel Vontavious Porter All 3 brands send their respective champions to the ring for the last 2 available draft picks. Jericho takes the fight to MVP early, while Benjamin helps Jericho at first, MVP eventually persuades Benjamin that they should team together and take out Jericho. They hit a double suplex followed by MVP hitting the ballin’ elbow. Eventually Jericho is thrown through the ropes and MVP and Benjamin go at it. Shelton is in control after he sends MVP to the corner and hits a splash. Joey Styles and Tazz are going crazy at ringside, believing that ECW is about to grab it’s 5th and 6th draft pick of the night. Styles almost jumps out of his chair after Shelton hits the t-bone suplex. 1... 2... Jericho makes the save! Jericho and Benjamin now go at it, with Jericho hitting the lionsault and hooking the leg, 1... 2... MVP makes the save! All three men now go at it, with MVP hitting a backbreaker on Jericho and then lining up Benjamin... for the drive by kick! MVP connects, 1... 2... again Jericho makes the save! All three men are starting to tire, and no brand is looking like walking away with the draft picks. Jericho is propping himself up in the corner, and MVP charges in... but he misses with the kick! A dropkick from Jericho sends MVP through the ropes to the floor, and as Jericho turns around... paydirt! No! Jericho counters... walls of Jericho! Jericho has it locked in... and Benjamin’s tapping! Jericho wins! Jericho has won the alst two draft picks for Raw! Chris Jericho beat Shelton Benjamin and Montel Vontavious Porter (A) Raw wins two draft picks JR: Well Chris Jericho has just grabbed two draft picks for Raw. King: Finally it looks like we’re going to get something going here. JR: Well let’s find out who our first pick is... King: What?! Cole: What the... Coach: Yes! Cole: What’s going to happen on Smackdown now? JR: Well... wait a second... here comes pick number two. King: Who is it...? Now Teddy... am I right in thinking that you signed The Undertaker against Kenny Dykstra for Summerslam? Well... I got a better idea. Undertaker... I want to see what kind of guy you are. So... I got a better match in mind. Cole: What on earth is going on? JR: I haven’t a clue. Coach: Shut up guys! Mr McMahon is talking... Shane: How’s this sound to you Deadman? At Summerslam... The Undertaker... one on one... with Batista! Cole: What? JR: You gotta be kidding me! King: What a match that is. Shane: You see... I got a lot of problems with Batista and the Big Show right now. And since the Big Show is out of my hair now... I need someone to deal with Batista. And to let me... shall we call it... evaluate you... you can handle this for me. If you’re a team player Undertaker... and if you’re willing to play by my rules... then Summerslam will be a great night for me! JR: I can’t believe Shane is doing this. Cole: I can’t believe we don’t have a GM anymore. Coach: I love this! Best night ever! Shane: Teddy... you work for me now! So I’ll see you next Monday night.
Nice draft mate, good stuff....I like how you went against the typical WWE way and didn't just rape ECW :p The roster looks nice and even now....And Shane trying to get Undertaker to do stuff for him? That'll be fun :D
Thanks mate. I've always tried to push ECW as a legit brand, and I've alwasy tried to present the ECW Title on the same level as the Smackdown and Raw titles. I needed some other pieces of talent to help me do that. Plus I also hate the way ECW gets screwed in drafts as well. As for Shane and Taker, you know it's going to lead to problems down the line. ;)
I like how the draft went down. Should make things interesting!
Thanks man. I was hoping it would ask a lot of questions with regards to where things are going. Oh yeah, congrats on the nomination for DOTM. No such luck for me though. :( I'll also say, there will be a supplemental draft, which for strategic purposes will take place in between ECW and Smackdown. Never underestimate the supplemental draft, it can always lead to better things. ;)

Styles: Last night saw ECW score big in the WWE Draft, but with Summerslam just 5 days away, what will the new group of superstars bring to the land of extreme? Hello everyone, I’m Joey Styles, alongside former ECW Champion Tazz, and Tazz, tonight we’re in Moline, IL, but we were having a great night in Chicago last night on Raw. Tazz: You’re not kiddin’ Joey! I mean, we got Kurt Angle, Kane, Brian Kendrick... but sadly we also got Umaga. We were hoping he and Armando Estrada would be out of here after Summerslam, but now they’re here to stay. Styles: And because of Umaga being drafted to ECW, Mick Foley was able to make Umaga defend the United States Championship. Tonight’s main event, Umaga and John Morrison go one on one for the title. Tazz: Joey can you imagine if John Morrison wins tonight and then goes on to become a double champion at Summerslam? Styles: It could turn out to be a great week for Tuesday night delight... but it could turn into a horrible night for the man making his way to the ring, JBL. Tazz: Well JBL has some pretty unsavoury words for ECW over the last few weeks, Tommy Dreamer accepted an open challenge last week and sadly lost, but he’s back for more tonight. Styles: JBL and Tommy Dreamer, extreme rules kicks things off tonight... Extreme Rules Match Tommy Dreamer v John Bradshaw Layfield Before the bell has even rung, JBL attacks Dreamer as he’s walking down the ramp, laying the boots into Dreamer on the floor. The early action all takes place on the outside, as JBL shows he can brawl with the most extreme competitors. Dreamer finally gets some offense in when he reverses an Irish whip, sending JBL shoulder first into the steel steps. Finally both men make it into the ring and the bell rings... only for Dreamer to dive back out again to go under the ring for weapons. Trash cans, steel chairs and kendo sticks all go flying into the ring. Dreamer grabs a trash can and crushes it over JBL’s head, but when he goes for a second shot, JBL grabs a kendo stick and fires it off Dreamer’s knee. JBL now goes to the floor, and he tosses the ring steps into the ring. JBL looks to powerbomb Dreamer on to the steps... but Dreamer counters with a back body drop! Dreamer again goes under the ring, and this time he brings in a stop sign and a table! Dreamer grabs the stop sign and smashes it off JBL’s skull, and then he props the table up in the corner. Dreamer grabs hold of JBL... and sends him flying through the table! Dreamer goes for the first cover of the match, 1... 2... JBL gets the shoulder up! The early frantic pace has taken its toll of both men, and JBL rolls to the floor to try and regroup. Dreamer follows him out, but JBL starts to retreat up the ramp. Tazz comments that JBL is trying to get in his limo and drive out the door, but Dreamer is in pursuit, kendo stick in hand. He strikes JBL across the back, but after JBL ducks another attempt... clothesline from hell off the ramp! Dreamer goes crashing to the concrete, as JBL tries to recover. JBL drags Dreamer back onto the ramp, and he looks like he’s going to end it. He positions Dreamer infront of his limo... Styles: No! No! Not this... Tazz: Oh my God! JBL’s going to powerbomb Dreamer on the roof of his limo! Styles: You’ll break his back! Don’t... oh my God! Oh my God! Tazz: Dreamer countered! Styles: Tommy Dreamer just DDT’d JBL onto the roof of the limo! Oh my God! Tazz: He did off the ramp onto the limo! Unbelievable! Styles: God... JBL could have a broken neck! Tazz: Dreamer’s going for the pin on top of the limo... Styles: 1... 2... 3! Tommy Dreamer... has damn near killed JBL! Tazz: I haven’t seen JBL move yet. I think he might be dead. Styles: I think it’s fair to say that Tommy Dreamer has upheld the honour of ECW tonight. Tazz: And... we got EMTs coming out here, we got a stretcher. This does not look good for JBL right now. Tommy Dreamer beat John Bradshaw Layfield (B) -------------------- Backstage, the ECW Champions is ready for an interview... Rose: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, he is the ECW Champion... Shelton Benjamin! And champ. Last night the WWE draft brought a lot of new superstars to ECW... and I think a lot of them will be after the ECW Championship. I mean there’s Kurt Angle, Kane... Benjamin: Whoa, whoa... what am I supposed to be scared? You think I’m worried about these new guys? When are you gonna get it in your head girl... I don’t fear anybody. I am the gold standard! That means everybody has to strive to reach my level. This Sunday at Summerslam... I’ll prove to you, Mick Foley and everybody watching... I set the standard here on ECW, I set the level of excellence that everybody has to aspire to. After I see off John Morrison and Umaga... I’ll gladly take on Kane and Kurt Angle... and I’ll see them off too. There’s something you, and Mick Foley, and everybody else has gotta realise... there ain’t no stoppin’ me! -------------------- The Miz v Colt Cabana The fun loving Colt Cabana is back in action on Sci-Fi, this time taking on ECW’s resident chick magnet The Miz. Colt has been on a roll since making his debut, picking up wins over Matt Striker and Big Daddy V. Early on Miz struggles to compete with Cabana’s unique style, as on several occasions Colt takes Miz down using any part of his body that he can. Miz rolls outside to regroup alongside Layla, and Miz comes back into the ring, he soon takes control after he drop toe holds Cabana face first off the middle turnbuckle. As Miz distracts the referee, Layla scores a cheap shot with a slap to the face. Miz then pummels Colt with hard forearms to the face. Miz looks like taking the win when he hits a knee to the side of the head and goes for the reality check. Colt counters however, and it isn’t long before he hits the colt .45! 1... 2... 3! Another win on ECW for Colt Cabana! Angle: Alright... Foley: But I wanted to talk to you about what your plans are here on ECW? Angle: My plans? Well first I’m going to beat Shawn Michaels this Sunday... and then I’m going after the ECW Championship. Foley: Oh really? Angle: Yeah. Foley: Well that’s good to hear. Well... once again welcome. And regardless of the outcome this Sunday... I see big things for you here on ECW. Angle: Regardless of the outcome? Don’t worry Mick, there’s only going to be one outcome this Sunday... I’m going home with the win. -------------------- Money in the Bank Challenge Preview Match Elijah Burke and Mr Kennedy v The Hardy Boyz The land of extreme is home to a Hardy Boyz reunion of sorts as the Money in the Bank challenge comes to ECW. The ECW and Raw representatives Burke and Kennedy combine to take on Mr Money in the Bank and Smackdown’s choice in another preview match. The Hardy’s naturally have the advantage as far as experience goes, and they quickly take control, with Matt slamming Kennedy to the mat and Jeff hitting a legdrop of the top rope. The Hardy’s continue to target Kennedy, with Jeff reversing an Irish whip to the corner and flying out with the whisper in the wind. Jeff goes for the cover, 1... 2... Burke makes the save. Jeff tags in Matt, but when he sends Kennedy of the ropes, Kennedy makes a blind tag to Burke. Matt drops Kennedy with a dropkick, but Burke nails him from behind with a bulldog. Burke goes to work on Matt, sending him to the corner and hitting the Elijah express. Jeff comes in to make the save, which draws in Kennedy, and soon all four men are going at each other. A four man brawl breaks out, with Jeff and Kennedy both going over the top rope and taking their fight to the floor. Back in the ring, Matt hits the twist of fate on Burke, and Jeff goes to the top rope. Jeff lines up Burke for the swanton... but Kennedy sends Jeff flying off the top rope! Jeff crashes into the barricade, and Kennedy and Matt start going at it in the ring. Matt gains the upper hand, and he hits another twist of fate, this time on Kennedy. Matt thinks he has this match won... until Burke catches him from behind with the Elijah experience! Burke goes for the cover, 1... 2... 3! Burke and Kennedy get the win, but all four men will be going at for the briefcase this Sunday. Umaga does catch Morrison with a headbutt, but misses with a diving one. Morrison hits a low dropkick, sending Umaga to the floor. Morrison follows him out and the pair start brawling on the outside. Morrison looks to sends Umaga into the ringpost, but the champion reverses and Morrison hits the post shoulder first. Back in the ring, Umaga delivers several headbutts to the back of Morrison’s head, and then he starts to apply pressure with a nerve hold. Morrison battles back to his feet, but after Umaga pushes him to the corner, he gets squashed by the champion. Morrison slumps down to where his head is positioned on the bottom turnbuckle. Umaga backs up into the opposite corner, lines up Morrison, charges in... but misses! Morrison managed to move, and then he drops Umaga with a DDT! Morrison has all the momentum now, and he nails the split legged moonsault! 1... 2... Umaga kicks out! We almost had a new United States Champion. The battle continues with Morrison now in charge. Morrison ducks a right hand and nails the hangman neckbreaker! 1... 2... again Umaga kicks out. Morrison has the United States Title in his sights. Kick to the midsection... moonlight drive... no! Umaga counters... Samoan drop! Umaga drives Morrison to the mat, 1... 2... no! Morrison kicks out! Estrada at ringside can’t believe it! Umaga drags Morrison back to his feet, and this time he’s determined to end it. He holds Morrison up... Samoan spike... no! Morrison ducks... kick... moonlight drive! Morrison connects!
