We have done many threads about favourite songs, movies etc but I dont think we have done one on songs that mean something to you. I have many songs that mean something to me and I would usually miss them out of a list of favourite songs as they dont immediately spring to mind. The following is a list of songs that mean something to me and the reasons: Jimmy Eat World - Hear You Me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pQo9OQlIB8 This song was my mates funeral song. He died innocently and way too young, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Gordon Lightfoot - If you could read my mind http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRMh5B8WaNo This song might be as old as the hills but its a classic. I had the painstaking task of playing this song at my grandads funeral, was his favourite song so this reminds me of him. Even if it didnt have the emotional attatchment i'd still love this song, also one of the first songs I learned to play on guitar. Lighthouse Family - High http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59LnsrWkyFM Taking it away from the depressing :p. This is just one of these songs that has good memories. I remember being at a school disco and this was the last song that played, think it would have been back in 1997/98. I walked home with my mates and my girlfriend after it and we sang this all the way home and it just felt at that moment that life was great and nothing could go wrong. Dougie McLean - Caledonia http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lNWDmfnUsY&feature=related I am insanely proud to be Scottish and love almost everything about my country, except Neds (Chavs). This song brings a lump to my throat everytime I hear it especially singing it along with a packed hampden crowd. I have nothing but proud memories when I hear this song. I prefer the Dougie McClean version but have linked the Frankie Miller version as Dougies version is pretty slow and anyone who chooses to listen to it might get bored :p Run Rig - Loch Lomond http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sm1BZnm-SIE Sticking with the Scotland theme. This version of loch lomond from Run rig is an absolute classic. I cant listen to this song without chills running up and down my spine. And again there is nothing like a packed Hampden park belting this one out. Again many many happy memories. I have followed Scotland everywhere for 17 years and have been to over 30 different countrys following them. Randomness http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpD5Lsa9dWc&feature=user The last video was taken by a member of my supporters club when we were in Italy. Just another testament that Scotland fans will sing anything :p Not a song that means something to me, but a night I will always remember.
