Organic from the beginning of wrestling

Recommended Posts

I've played with this off and on for a few months and thought I'd give an update. I want to get to the 90s anyway and see what happens with this. This started in 1920 whatever when the Organic mod starts. I've got it up to 1976. If anyone wants a particular wrestlers details I will do my best to give you an overview. This is a mismash of the Organic, DOTT, and After the Fall mods. I just thought this would be interesting to do and see how my "game" rewrites history. Promotions as of June 1976: AJPW - 70% Prestige, over 6 million in the bank IPW Japan - 71% Prestige, almost 15 million in the bank JCP - 89% Prestige, 71 million in the bank and the most successful promotion in this organic mod. They are the only one's to go National.... LLI Mexico - 39.4% Prestige, 9 million in the bank Maple Leaf - 75% Prestige, 14 million in the bank NWA - 83% Prestige, 24 million in the bank NJPW - 92% Prestige, 7 million in the bank PNW - 84% Prestige, 16 million in the bank WCCW - 80% Prestige, 17 million in the bank WWF - 74% Prestige, 15 million in the bank

Since JCP is the "big dog" in town in my game at the moment I will give an overview of the history of JCP. The JCP International title is the Main Event title, currently with a 72% prestige. The first "real life" wrestler to win the belt was Gorgeous George in 1941. He lost to Lou Thesz in 1942. Other holders in the 1940s included: Buddy Rogers and Verne Gagne with two reigns as champ. In the 50's the belt was held by the following: Gorgeous George, Gagne, Fred Blassie, Chris Tolos, and Lou Thesz. In 1955 Gagne won the title for the 7th time. The 60's saw Tolos, Thesz, Johnny Valentine, Pampero Firpo, Pepper Gomez, Fritz Von Erich, Eddie Graham, Ernie Ladd, and Gagne all with title reigns. Gagne won his 8th and last JCP International Title in 1969. Now in the 70s here's whats went down: Johnny Valentine won from Von Erich in May 1970 After 11 defenses he loses to Ole Anderson Feb. 1971 After 10 defenses he loses to Johnny Valentine Sept. 1971 After 13 defenses he loses to Fritz Von Erich November 1972 After 14 defenses he loses to Terry Funk May 1973 After 11 defenses he loses to Ole Anderson November 1973 After 11 defenses he loses to Fritz Von Erich May 1974 After 12 defenses he loses to Ole Anderson After 11 defenses he loses to Fritz Von Erich December 74 After 10 defenses he loses to Harley Race May 1975 After 10 defenses he loses to Fritz Von Erich November 1975 It is now June of 1976 and Von Erich still holds the title after 14 successful defenses. Von Erich is a 7 time World Champion The Tag Titles currently held by Victor Jovica and Nick Bockwinkel and they won them from the 4 time champs Bruno Sammartino and Mr. Wrestling II. The men that held the belt the most were Fritz Von Erich and Dick the Bruiser with 5 reigns, last held title in December 1965. The JCP Area Championship is held by Ernie Ladd who won it from Don Muraco. The man with the most reigns as this champion is Bruno Sammartino with 6 total. The JCP roster is massive and brimming with the best talent in the world of wrestling - all to written contracts. Their current Main Event players include: Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, Fritz Von Erich, Terry Funk, The Iron Shiek, Ole Anderson, Paul Orndorff, and Ric Flair. Some other prominent names on the roster include: Eddie Graham, Dory Funk Jr, Nick Bockwinkel, Masked Superstar, Carlos Colon, Sgt. Slaughter, Jerry Lawler, Roddy Piper, Mr. Wrestling II, Wahoo McDaniel, Don Muraco, Bruno Sammartino, Dick the Bruiser, Dick Murdoch, Bruiser Brody, Superstar Graham, Ricky Steamboat, Larry Henning, the Blackjacks, Ray Stevens, The Grand Wizard, Bobby Heenan, Gordon Solie, Paul Boesch, Johnny Valentine, and Jim Crockett. Their last big card was Week 1 June 76 and featured some of these matches: Larry Henning beat Geto Mongol Don Muraco beat Killer Karl Kox Jovica and Bockwinkel won the Tag Straps from War Machine (Sammartino and Wrestling II) Ole Anderson beat Dick Murdoch Eddie Graham beat Roddy Piper Sgt. Slaughter beat Jerry Lawler Iron Shiek beat Carlos Colon Ernie Ladd retained the Area Title against The Masked Superstar Harley Race beat Dick the Bruiser Fritz Von Erich retained the World Title beating Paul Orndorff Main Event: Team Chance (Flair and Dory Funk Jr) went to a time limit draw with Stretching Crew (Wahoo and Dusty)
Did he hold these all at the same time?
He held the NWA belt from August 75 to Feb. 76 He held the PNW belt from August 75 to April 76 He held the WWF belt from April 76 to May 76 FYI, now in 1978 Orndorff has won the JCP title two times and is under a written contract with them as a Main Eventer. And yes the AutoMouse Clicker is most definitely a friend of mine.

We have moved forward to 1989 now in this simulation......I'm going to give an overview of some careers now for this update: Ric Flair - Won his first title, the WWF World Title in 1971. WWF in this sim is only cult as it was way back then. In 1974 he won both the IPW World and International titles. IPW is a promotion in Japan - currently the biggest promotion in Japan by far and one of the biggest feds in the game. From there he moved on to JCP - the biggest and best fed in the game at this time. He won his first Tag strap in 1975 with Dory Funk Jr. He went on to hold that title two additional times, both with Funk, but in 1985 and 1987. Flair had one reign as the JCP World Heavyweight Champion, in 1978 as he won the belt from Harley Race in January of 78. He defended the belt 18 times that year before losing it back to Race in November of 78. He has not won a World Title since that point. He was under written contract with JCP all through the late 70s to mid 80s. His last match with JCP took place in Feb. 1988 as he and Funk Jr lost a match with Larry Zbyszko and Ted Dibiase. Flair bolted to PNW, who had just recently went National, and signed a written contract with them. His first match with the company in May 1988 saw him beat David Von Erich. In 1989 he has been feuding with Steve Keirn over the PNW Heavyweight Title, unable to win the strap thus far. His last match was a win over Kerry Von Erich in May 89 - where we stand in the game. In his career he has been Wrestler of the Year one time, in 1981. His overall career record is 400 wins, 37 draws, and 241 losses. His very first ever match was in March of 1971, teaming with Don Muraco, beating Jimmy Valient and Travis Keith (CPU created character). He won the WWF title in 71 from Carlos Colon then went on to have a near year long feud with Don Muraco over the title, finally losing it to him in April of 72. From September of 73 to January of 78 he took a sabbatical from wrestling - guess he had to find his "inner Flair." He returned in 78 signing with JCP to the written deal and in his first match back in 5 years he beat Harley Race for the JCP International Title. Hulk Hogan - Hogan won his first title, the WWF Tag Strap with Cyclone Negro, in Feb. 1977. In March of that year he won his first and only Intercontinental strap. In June he won the NWA Area (Midcard) title. He moved on to PNW in 78 quickly winning the World Title in December of 78 from Jesse Ventura. Through early 79 he was making successful defenses against Greg Valentine and The Spoiler. He was also still working for the NWA and WWF. In the NWA he was regularly getting beat by Dirty Dutch Mantell. In the WWF he was losing many matches to Austin Idol and also Greg Valentine. He had one WWF Title Match in June 79 losing to Ventura - the same man he beat in December of 78 to win the PNW World Title. All the while Hogan is still the PNW World Champ. After two successful PNW World Title defenses in August over David Shultz, Hogan lost the belt to Valentine in September. By 1980 Hogan was working for WWF and PNW, dropping the NWA from his schedule. In Feb. 80 Hogan wins the PNW World Title again, this time from Jimmy Garvin. He follows that up in March of 80 by winning the WWF World Title from The Handsome Half-Breed Gino Hernandez. Hogan quickly lost the WWF World Title in April to Dutch Mantell. After that through May and June of 80 Hogan kept losing rematches to Mantell while tagging with him at the same time in some other events. He chased the WWF Title through the rest of the year but could never unseat Mantell. In 81 he moved exclusively to Maple Leaf Wrestling. He had a lengthly run there staying until July of 1985. In MLW he was a two time Tag Champ with Larry Cameron. Also, he won their International (Midcard) Title twice, in 1982 and 1984. He first won the belt from Tommy Rich and later won the title from Tony Parisi. He left Maple Leaf jobbing out to Rick Martel in a International Title match. He debuted in JCP with a loss to Ted Dibiase. He got his first JCP TV Title Match in August of 86 losing to Jake Roberts. He did not get another title match the entire year. In August of 87 he again managed two TV Title matches - again against Roberts, losing both times. In September he lost to new TV champ Eddie Graham. In 1988 Hogan had no title matches but did manage a 14-1-6 record. In January of 89 he got two more chances at the TV title, losing both times to champ Matt Borne. He's currently on a 4 match win streak beating Jesse Ventura, Curt Henning twice, and Gino Hernandez. He's a Midcard talent. As you can see arguably the two biggest stars of the 80s in the "real world" both had problems gaining Superstardom in this Organic mod. More to come.......

Eddie Graham - I decided to do him and you'll see why. He debuted in 1951 in this mod. He fought on the Indy's until 1954 when he signed with the NWA. He also signs with the WWF in Sept. 1955. In only his second match with the WWF he wins the World Title from Stan Stasiak. He holds that title until April of 57 losing it back to Stasiak. All the while he's still fighting in the NWA, and by early 57, PNW. In early 58 he wins the WWF Title back from Stasiak and begins fighting in JCP as well. He spent the entire year successfully defending the WWF Title against Ox Baker and Gorgeous George. He holds the WWF World Title until May 59 finally losing it to Ox Baker. He's still wrestling in PNW and JCP all this time as well. In 1960 he had some chances at the WWF Title but never won it but he did win the PNW Intercontinental (Midcard) title from Lord Alfred Hayes. He held that title until April of 61. In Sept. of 61 he again wins the WWF World Title, this time from Gorgeous George. In Feb. of 62 he wins the JCP TV Title from Pampero Firpo. He loses the WWF Title back to Ox Baker in May of 62. By June, he loses the JCP TV title to Fritz Von Erich. In Feb. of 63 he along with Ernie Ladd - The Last Stand - win the JCP World Tag straps from Larry Henning and Blackjack Lanza. Also in 63 he becomes exclusive to the JCP roster. They lose the titles mid year to Dick the Bruiser and Fritz Von Erich - Payback. They win the titles back from them in Feb. of 64. In June they lose the straps back to Von Erich and Bruiser. He went without a strap until 1967 when he won the JCP World Title from Fritz Von Erich in November. He held the most prestigious belt in the sport until August 68, losing to old partner Ernie Ladd. He went on to chase the World Title through most of the 70s - frequently coming up short mostly against champ Ole Anderson. He didn't hang it up until early 1988 and stayed with JCP the entire way. He won Veteran Wrestler of the Year in 1977, 1978, 82, 83, 84, 85, and 87. He finishes his career as an 8 time JCP Tag Team Champion - 4 times with Ernie Ladd, once with Carlos Colon, once with Bob Orton Jr, and twice at the end of his career with Larry Zbyszko. He only had that one reign as JCP World Champion but won the JCP TV Title 5 times. In the NWA he was two time tag champs with Pampero Firpo and a one time TV champion. He won the PNW World strap one time and was also a 3 time WWF World Champion. I have so many wrestlers to look through in this "mod" but so far I can't find anyone that had such a great and illustrious career as Eddie Graham. He is currently unemployed after retirement from JCP. PS: After looking over the data for some reason everyone lost their match results from 74-78 so Flair actually didn't quit wrestling. No one has results for those years for some reason.

In this era currently one of the most successful wrestlers is Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff. After winning NWA, PNW, and WWF World Titles in 75 and 76 he moved exclusively to JCP in 76. He has since stayed with JCP ever since - winning the World Title 6 times. He has been Wrestler of the Year in 76, 82, 83, 85, 86, and 88. He debuted in 1972 in the WWF losing to Dick Brower. Since I'm missing 74-77 results I'll pick up after that. In 79 he wins the JCP World Title from Fritz Von Erich in September. He lost the belt in March 80 to The Junkyard Dog. He won the title back from JYD in April of 81. He lost the belt to Fritz in December 81. He doesn't hold a title again until Feb. 84 when he wins the World Title from Ole Anderson. In November he lost the title to Ricky Steamboat who had been chasing it most of the summer and fall. He won the belt back from Steamboat in July of 85 and spent the rest of the year with successful defenses against the likes of Ole Anderson, Scott Steiner, Victor Jovica, Steamboat, and Larry Zbyszko. Ole Anderson won the title back from him in April of 86. He hasn't been able to regain the World Title since then but has had a few chances. In 89 so far he is 6-1-3 and has recent wins over Zbyszko and Roddy Piper. He is still a Main Eventer in JCP at this time at the age of 38.

Fritz Von Erich - Here's another Superstar in this game - and one that tops Eddie Graham in terms of achievement. Fritz won his first World Title - the PNW Heavyweight in 1954. He won the NWA World Title in 1957. When Fritz debuted in 1951 he started out with JCP and he would stay there for the entire duration of his career. His first ever match in March 1951 he beat the legendary Verne Gagne. He won his first title, the JCP TV Title in August of 1952 from Mad Dog Vachon. He lost that title in December 52 to Gory Guerrero. He spent the late 50's to mid 60's fighting for the TV Title and Tag Titles with longtime partner Dick the Bruiser. He won 6 TV Titles - last one in 1965. He was 5 time World Tag Champ with Dick the Bruiser - last time in 65. In October of 1966 Fritz won his first ever JCP World Heavyweight Title beating Pepper Gomez for the strap. He lost it right back to Gomez in December. In July of 67 Fritz won the belt back from Gomez again. He spent the rest of the summer successfully defending the title against guys like Harley Race, Bruno Sammartino, Gomez, and Verne Gagne. He lost the title in November of 67 to Eddie Graham. He got another crack at the World strap in September of 69 winning it from Verne Gagne. He held the title for a year losing it to Johnny Valentine. He won the title back from Valentine in March of 72. He was able to defend the title all through the summer and early fall against such stars as Eddie Graham, Verne Gagne, Dusty Rhodes, Dory Funk Jr, Pepper Gomez, and Johnny Valentine. He lost the title to Terry Funk in November. When we can pick up in 1978 Von Erich had a couple of shots at Flair but couldn't win the belt. In May 79 he beat Harley Race for the strap. He spent the rest of the year defending against Dory Funk Jr, Race, Paul Orndorff, Ric Flair, Paul Jones, and The Iron Shiek. He lost the title in December to Orndorff. Onto the 80s......in 80 Von Erich got one crack at Orndorff but came up short. He spent the rest of the year mostly fighting in singles competition. He amassed a record of 15-6 in 80 with some big wins against Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard, Ole Anderson, and Don Muraco. By August of 81 he was back in the World Title picture losing to Orndorff. In December of 81 Von Erich won the title from Orndorff. In September 82 a virtual unknown in the world of wrestling - Sting - beats Fritz for the World Title. He spent early 83 chasing Sting for the belt but could never regain the title. He got his last World Title shot in January of 1984 losing a match to Ole Anderson. He got a record of 19-8 in 1984 - his last year as a pro wrestler. Von Erich retired in August of 1984 doing jobs on his way out throughout the month. He lost to Scott Steiner, Eddie Graham, and lost his last match ever to Ole Anderson. He retired as a 9 time JCP World Heavyweight champion. Other accolades on Fritz include: 1951 Young Wrestler of the Year Wrestler of the Year: 1953, 1960 Veteran of the Year: 1975, 1976, 1979, 1980, and 1981.

I said I was going to slow it down but I honestly don't have the time to delve into this like I would like. However, I will continue and have continued to sim through the years. I will give info as I can and if anyone would like to know about any particular wrestler feel free and I will go over their careers for you. I am now up to 1997............
