Runtime 457 Error and Random Shutdown During Play

Recommended Posts

First, here is a rundown of my relevant system info: Processor Model: 1x Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.93GHz Socket/Slot: J2E1 (Other) Frequency: 2933 MHz FSB Speed: 133 MHz Signature: GenuineIntel Vendor: Intel Corporation L1 Cache: 16 KB L2 Cache: 1024 KB L3 Cache: 0 KB System BIOS Vendor: Intel Corp. Version: EV91510A.15A.0067.2004.0722.1717 Date: 07/22/2004 Size: 512 KB Video System Monitor: SyncMaster 206BW,SyncMaster Magic CX206BW(Digital) Video Card: RADEON X700 PRO Secondary Screen Resolution: 1680x1050 32 bit Logical Storage Device Local Disk (C:): 152625 MB (82982 MB Free) NTFS FreeAgent Drive (F:): 476937 MB (278241 MB Free) NTFS Operating System(s) Windows Family: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack: Service Pack 2 Version Number: 5.1 (Build 2600) Product ID: 76477-OEM-0011903-00103 RAM Additional: 2000 KB -------------------------- Now that you know my system is more than adequate, I have had the following problems: 1. Upon start-up, I occasionally receive a 457 runtime error. 2. During game play, the game FREQUENTLY shuts down with no error given. It just freezes up (but not a system freeze, my task manager shows it as running not "not responding") or sometimes just closes entirely without warning. I am definitely running the full (non-demo) version and I have un-installed and reinstalled both the software and the patch several times. My system is virus free according to McAfee. Also I emailed Grey Dog and received no response, so I am apt to believe the problem is on your side. I purchased within the last 30 days, and am strongly considering either asking for a refund or in the worst case, disputing the charge with my bank. However, before I do, I would like to give you folks a chance to help me solve these problems. Any ideas?
