World Wrestling Federation: A Change In Attitude

Nice forst show buddy. I like that you've kept it realistic to start off, as of course some elements of that were from real life. But I dig that, you can gradually take it your own way rather than moving straight off the bat. I look forward to seeing what you do with this because I am obviously a fan of this era. Do have one question though- how comes Michaels is still active? He is in mine because I started before he got injured but if this starts at Wrestlemania surely he would have the back injury?
*claps* very well done my friend very well done :D
Thanks man. Let's hope it continues that way.
Nice forst show buddy. So like you said, I will gradualy be introducing storylines and feuds which take it away from real life. That's something I really want to try and do, stay away from what happens in real life. • 2 weeks later...
Monday, April 7 1998 Cassell Coliseum, Blacksburg, VA 1pm “I don’t really think it’s all that bad.” Believe me, it was. I had asked Vince to meet me so we could talk about the state of the roster. We were set to have our creative meeting as usual at 2pm, but I asked Vince to meet me at 1pm so we could talk without Russo being there. “I don’t think it’s anywhere near as bad as you make it out to be.” “We’ve got some great main event guys, but we’re relying on them too much.” It was an issue I felt strongly about. When we’d been doing everything we could to boost ratings, we’d been doing DX and Austin to death. Promos and angles were saving our shows. While the bottom line looked good, the wrestling on our shows was terrible. We had one or two midcard guys that could be counted on to deliver, but we had too many big guys who could barely move. “Well… what do you think? Do we need to bring in some guys from Atlanta?” It could be an option, but we could only get them if they weren’t happy down there. I had a better idea that could help us in the short term but set us up nicely for the future too. “I’d rather we bring in some unknown guys and make them stars. There are plenty of talented guys out there who we could use.” I presented Vince with a list of guys he’d probably never heard of. I was willing to take a chance on a bunch of them if they could step in and help. “I mean, we brought in the Light Heavyweight Title, but we have 2 guys in the division! And tag teams. We’ve got teams like DOA and Truth Commission. The fans hate seeing them wrestle!” I think I finally got through to him, as he seemed to agree. “OK… we’ll do it. If we have to let some guys go, let’s do it with some class. Bring in who you think will help make us better, but if…” Just at that moment, Russo walked in. He was mad and he made no excuses for it. “What is this? We’re not doing creative ‘til 2.” I couldn’t believe it. How did he find out? I was pretty sure I’d been careful enough to make sure he didn’t find out. I didn’t trust him and he didn’t trust me. The fact that I wanted to fire most of the guys he’d brought in obviously didn’t make him all that happy. “Nothing. We’re just talking. You’re here early.” I wasn’t going to let him know my plans right now. I didn’t want him here anymore, but Vince insisted I try and make things work with him. He didn’t tell me why he was here early, but I knew he had found out somehow. My meeting with Vince was cut short, but I’d been given the nod to make the changes I felt needed to be made. We started the creative meeting and laid out what we wanted to do on Raw tonight. Again I made suggestions and Russo shot them down. It didn’t matter anymore though, apart from making himself look like a fool in front of Vince. Raw was going to be done my way, whether he wanted to be a part of it or not.

Last week, the WWF Champion ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin survived the monster Kane, but tonight DX is after the Rattlesnake. King: Hold on a second JR, the only reason Stone Cold is still the champion is thanks to The Undertaker. JR: No doubt about that, The Undertaker did Austin a huge favour, but the... ARE YOU READY? JR: Well... it seems we are going to be joined by D-Generation X. King: Good. I’m sick and tired of hearing you going on about Steve Austin. Michaels: You know... Austin... if you think that at Unforgiven, you’re going to have The Undertaker there to save your ass, then you better think again. You think Mike Tyson is going to be there? Nu-uh! Nobody is going to be there for you Austin. Tonight, Hunter is going to soften you up... and at Unforgiven... I am going to take back my WWF Title! HHH: And Austin... if you’re not down with that... we got two words for ya... SUCK IT! King: Ha ha! JR, there’s no way Austin can compete with DX! JR: Not only that, but it seems Mr McMahon is also pulling for Shawn Michaels to regain the WWF Title. ------- The Rock v Vader *we join the match near its conclusion* JR: Oh! Vader splash in the corner. The big ol’ grizzly bear is taking to the Intercontinental Champion right now. And... D’Lo is on the apron... and Vader sends him to the floor. King: He can’t do that! JR: Oh! The Rock from behind. Vader was distracted, and The Rock took advantage of it. King: That’s what happens when you mess with the Nation. JR: Vader now... sent off the ropes... and he nails Rocky with a clothesline! Vader’s not done yet! Vader now... dragging The Rock towards the corner. King: He’s not going for a Vader bomb is he? JR: It looks like it King. The Rock... and now Mark Henry is on the apron. C’mon ref! This is getting... oh! Low blow! The Rock with a low blow! Dammit! The ref never saw it! King: And now it’s time JR. Time for the... JR: Rock bottom! The Rock hits the rock bottom... hooks the leg... 1... 2... 3. And The Rock wins. King: You see JR. I told you The Rock was the real driving force behind The Nation. JR: Well... as we said folks, the leader of The Nation, Farooq, is not here tonight. We don’t know... King: Shut up JR, The Rock wants to speak. Rock: First of all... get this fat piece of crap out of The Rocks ring! Farooq... The Rock knows you’re not here tonight... but The Rock also knows you’re watching this. The Rock says this Farooq... The Rock owes you an explanation for his actions last week. And let The Rock say this Farooq... next week, you’ll get your explanation. JR: What did he mean by that? King: Well... I don’t think The Rock owes Farooq anything, except maybe an ass kicking. JR: Next week folks... are we going to see the end of The Nation? The Rock beat Vader (B) ------ JR: Welcome back to Raw folks. We are now being joined... King: Shut up JR! Can’t you see the greatest entertainer in the world is in the ring right now? JR: Well... Double J Jeff Jarrett, and his manager Jim Cornette are waiting to speak. Cornette: Now last week that stupid jackass Steve Blackman came out here and attacked Double J from behind. Double J had just come off a great win over Flash Funk, and that coward Blackman attacked him after the match. Blackman, you are gutless... and you are a coward! You’re scared to take on Double J one on one in a match, cause he’s already beat you! Now these sneak attacks better stop Blackman, or else me and Double J are going to have to go straight to the top to stop this. King: Right. Mr McMahon isn’t going to let Blackman get away with this kind of thing. JR: I think Mr McMahon has his hands full with Stone Cold right now, just as Jarrett is going to have his hands full with TAKA Michinoku. TAKA Michinoku v ‘Double J’ Jeff Jarrett *we join the match near its conclusion* JR: TAKA off the ropes... nice headscissor takedown by the Light Heavyweight Champion. TAKA quickly to the second rope... and Jarrett caught him in mid air... and he drives TAKA into the corner. King: TAKA can fly around all over the ring, but if Jarrett catches him, this match won’t last long. JR: TAKA needs to hit and run if he’s going to get the win here, as Jarrett goes to work on the knees now. Jarrett... sends TAKA off the ropes... TAKA ducks the clothesline... hurricanrana! TAKA with the cover, 1... 2... Jarrett kicks out! King: God that was close. JR: Jarrett sent to the corner... oh! TAKA runs right into a boot. What impact as TAKA hit the mat. The light heavyweight champion was starting to get it going there. King: Yeah but I think... I think the end is near JR... JR: Jarrett now... going for... he’s got the figure four locked on! King: Yes! You never doubt Double J JR. JR: The referee is calling for the bell... and Jeff Jarrett adds another notch to his winning streak. King: And surely, one of these days, Double J should be getting a shot at the WWF Title? JR: Well that’s still down the line I think but... hey! It’s... it’s Blackman! King: What? Is this guy crazy? Didn’t he hear what Cornette said before the match? JR: I don’t think the Lethal Weapon gives a damn! Blackman, taking Jarrett to the woodshed with those educated feet... oh! Cornette with that damn tennis racket and... Blackman nailed him with a right hand! Blackman just nailed... oh low blow! Jarrett from behind with a low blow! King: Good. About time someone taught that coward a lesson. JR: If anybody’s a coward, it’s that damn Jeff Jarrett. He’s heading for the hills before Blackman can get back to his feet. Jeff Jarrett beat TAKA Michinoku (C+) ------- King: God JR... I can’t wait for Val Venis to get here. JR: I can’t imagine why King. Up next folks, Owen Hart takes on Nation member Kama Mustafa. Kama Mustafa v 'The Black Hart' Owen Hart *we join the match near its conclusion* JR: Owen sent to the corner... Kama goes into the turnbuckle. Owen to the second rope... bulldog out of the corner. Owen with the cover, 1... 2... and Kama gets the shoulder up. King: JR, do you see what I’m seeing right now? JR: What’s that? King: I see The Nation at ringside and everybody is happy right now. Farooq isn’t here and they don’t need him. JR: Well Farooq is still the leader of the Nation until we hear otherwise. Owen now... sends Kama off the ropes, Kama reverses... and he nails Owen with a hard clothesline. Kama now... sends Owen for a ride over the top rope. King: Good. Somebody oughta teach that damn nugget a lesson. JR: And now... The Rock standing over Owen Hart and... oh! Hey c’mon! The Rock just nailed Owen with a right hand. The referee was distracted by Kama. King: Haha! That was great! The Rock just slapped the taste right out of Owen’s mouth! JR: The damn Nation is getting out of hand. Somebody... oh! Owen Hart just hit The Rock! King: What? JR: Owen and The Rock going at on the floor! Oh! From behind, Mark Henry. Henry and D’Lo now, nailing Owen with boots. The referee is calling for the bell, but the beating is continuing. King: Good. You don’t put your hands on The Rock and get away with it. JR: Owen Hart is getting... hey wait! Shamrock and Vader! Shamrock and Vader! King: What are they doing out here? JR: Shamrock and Vader have had their problems with The Nation too! Shamrock, Vader and Owen Hart taking it to the Nation! King: This is a war out here! JR: The Nation still has the numbers game. It’s still four on three. D’Lo and Kama taking it to Shamrock, The Rock beating on Owen, Vader and Henry going at it. This is carnage out here. This... King: Look who it is! JR: Well it’s Farooq... Farooq is coming out here. King: Yeah but who’s side is he on? JR: Well I assume he’s with... oh! Farooq just went for The Rock! Farooq giving The Rock an ass kicking! King; What is he doing? He’s meant to be the leader of The Nation! JR: Farooq is taking The Rock to the woodshed! The Nation is heading back up the ramp... Farooq, Shamrock, Vader and Owen Hart have stood their ground! They’re standing tall in the ring! King: I can’t believe this! The Rock is not going to be happy at this! Owen Hart beat Kama Mustafa by DQ (C+) -------- JR: Ladies and gentlemen, at this time, we are being joined by the WWF Champion, Stone Cold, Steve Austin. And Steve, we have to ask you, after what happened last week in the cage... Austin: Hold on a second JR. The fact of the matter is this, last week Vince McMahon tried to take away my WWF Title. Now he almost got it done, but ol’ Stone Cold is still the champ. Now as for tonight, Triple H, you may be the boy that Shawn Michaels has sent to his dirty work tonight, but you can guarantee that if any of those other DX guys get involved, Stone Cold is going to slap you all over this arena. And that’s all I got to say about that. JR: Well... the Rattlesnake sounds very confident ahead of his match tonight. King: Yeah but he dodged the issue on Shawn Michaels. He’s scared of Shawn Michaels, cause he knows he’s going to lose that title at Unforgiven. JR: I don’t think that’s the case at all, but moving on, the number one contenders for the WWF Tag Team Titles are about to be decided. WWF Tag Team Title Number One Contenders Match Los Boricuas v Legion of Doom v The Godwinns v The Headbangers *we join the match near its conclusion* JR: Henry and Phinias going to work on Mosh in one corner, Hawk and Savio are going at it on the floor. First team to score a pinfall wins this match, and gets a shot at the Outlaws at Unforgiven. And... oh! Hawk just went crashing into our table. King: Look at these idiots the Headbangers. What are they wearing? JR: Certainly a unique style they bring to the ring... as Animal slams Henry to the mat. Hawk back into the ring... and a double clothesline takes Miguel Perez out of the ring. King: Look out... JR: From behind... Mosh tried to get Animal, but the veteran sent him over the top rope to the floor. King: Man LoD are cleaning house in there right now. JR: Certainly are as... oh! Phineas from behind, he took out Animal. Phinias and Hawk left alone in the ring now. King: That's not a pretty sight JR> JR: This ain't a beauty pagent King. A shot at the tag team titles is at stake. Phinias... sends Animal off the ropes... ducks a clothesline... and Animal nails him with a clothesline of his own. King: Uh oh... JR... look who's on top. JR: Hawk is going to the top rope... Animal has Phinias up... King: Doomsday device! JR: Oh! They nearly broke him in half! Here's the cover... 1... 2... 3! And the Legion of Doom are going to Unforgiven! King: And the Outlaws better be worried, cause these two look like they mean business. Legion of Doom beat Los Boricuas, The Godwinns and The Headbangers (D+) ----------- JR: We’re back folks, and up next... King: What is this? JR: Well it’s... oh! It’s Kane! Kane and Paul Bearer making their way out here now... and King, last week we heard Paul Bearer challenge The Undertaker to a match I’ve never heard of. King: Right an Inferno Match! Paul Bearer wants to see The Undertaker burn in hell. JR: And he’s got the mic right now so... Bearer: Undertaker... last week you saw your brother Kane almost become WWF Champion... and it ripped you up inside, didn’t it Undertaker? You couldn’t stand to see your brother become the WWF Champion... and that’s why you cost him the title. Well Undertaker... you still haven’t answered my challenge. At Unforgiven... will you step into hell Undertaker? Will you face your own flesh and blood Kane... in a ring surrounded by fire? JR: God I... I can’t believe this is going to happen. I mean, Undertaker and Kane... in a ring surrounded by fire? King: What a hot match that is going to be? Haha! Ahmed Johnson v Kane *we join the match near its conclusion* JR: Kane... scoops Ahmed up... and slams him to the mat. Kane comes off the ropes... and he drives the elbow. King: You gotta admit Ross, it took everything the Undertaker had for him to beat Kane at Wrestlemania. JR: It did take a huge effort to finally put Kane away. King: Right. So just imagine what’s going to happen if these two wind up in a ring surrounded by flames. JR: Well I... I shudder to think what that’s going to be like, if The Undertaker does accept Paul Bearer’s challenge. But right now... Kane going to the top rope... and he connects with the clothesline off the top. King: Haha! Listen to Paul Bearer out here. He’s loving this! JR: I don’t think I’ve ever seen somebody so dominant as Kane has been since he arrived in the WWF. And... I think Kane just made the signal... King: This ain’t gonna go much further JR. JR: Kane has him up... King: Goodnight! JR: Tombstone! Kane with the tombstone! King: It’s over JR! JR: Here’s the cover... 1... 2... 3. Kane gets the win over Ahmed John... what is this? King: The lights are out! What the hell is this? Undertaker: Kane! King: What? It’s the Undertaker! JR: Where is he? Undertaker: Kane... you and Paul Bearer challenge me to step into hell? I will accept your challenge... and you will burn Kane! JR: Oh my God! I... I can’t believe Undertaker and Kane are... King: Look JR! He’s in the ring! JR: Oh! Undertaker attacking Kane! Undertaker and Kane! Kane... sent for a ride! Kane and Paul Bearer backing up the ramp... The Undertaker is standing tall in the centre of the ring! King: He’s no better than that damn coward Steve Blackman! Kane beat Ahmed Johnson (B-) --------- ARE YOU READY? King: Oh boy JR... I’ve been waiting for this all night! JR: Triple H... and it seems the rest of DX also... making their way down to the ring. Triple H is in action against Stone Cold. That match is next, when we return to Raw! ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin v Triple H *we join the match near its conclusion* JR: Austin off the ropes... ducks underneath a clothesline... Lou Thesz press! And Austin, with rights and lefts... and now he's stomping a mud hole, and walking it dry! King: C'mon Triple H! JR: Austin now... sends Triple H to the corner... hard clothesline! Austin... goes to the second rope... and nails him with an elbow drop. Hooks the leg, 1-2... and Triple H kicks out. King: Look at Shawn Michaels, he looks worried. JR: The entire DX outfit here at ringside looks worried. Austin is taking the fight to... wait, kick... stu... no Triple H blocks it... and a clothesline takes Austin to the floor. King: And he landed right at the feet of Billy Gunn. JR: Now c’mon ref! Triple H is distracting the referee, and the Outlaws are beating Austin on the floor. King: What? I didn’t see anything. JR: Austin can barely stand right now... as the Kid throws Austin back into the ring. Triple H... yeah he can make those taunts all he wants when he’s got his buddies out here with him. King: He’s just giving Austin a taste of what he can... JR: Hey! Wait... it’s Cactus and Chainsaw! Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie! King: What are these old idiots doing out here? JR: Cactus and Chainsaw taking the fight to DX! Oh! Chair shot to Road Dog... and Billy Gun takes on as well! King: This is chaos out here I mean... JR: Austin has Michaels! Austin and Michaels going at it on the floor! Michaels goes head first into the steps! King: Uh... Mr McMahon... we need some help out here! JR: There’s nobody left to help DX! Austin, Cactus and Chainsaw are kicking ass out here! This is a war! We’ve got to go folks! We’re out of time! Join us next week on Raw! King: Look out...
