shipshirt
I've been a pro wrestling fan for over 20 years but I've never heard the term "martinette" used. It's in the "Create a Move" function of the game...what does it mean?
FINisher
Used in Mexico. A martineti is any move that drops the opponent straight to his/hers head, i.e DDTs, Piledrivers etc.. those are highly illegal moves in mexican wrestling, and only used by Rudos, heels (or technicos, the good guys to get revenge on rudos. or something like that.) :P "In Mexico, the piledriver (called a Martinete) is an automatic disqualification. A Martinete generally refers to the tombstone piledriver and/or its variations, but it is also used for other variations."
IWGP
It means 'to drop on the head' ie. The Tombstone, The Piledriver etc. It's illegal to drop someone on their head in Lucha Libre, so I would assume that's why it's in.
teakle
Although I am sure there are better explanations out there, a Martinete is the Mexican term for a piledriver. I understand it to be "banned" in Mexico, so is closely associated with heals and guaranteed to start a riot...
