[B][CENTER]Following a failed and miserable attempt by Ole Anderson to copy the WWF's style, Ted Turner stepped in and knew he needed a change. The Black Scorpion fiasco was a complete disaster, culminating in a last minute decision to place Ric Flair under the mask that has drawn very poor reviews from WCW fans. An open interview process was held by Ted Turner to determine who should run WCW. Enter Jack Avatar. Jack is a young wrestler who was mostly on the independent scene, booking here and there when needed. He impressed Ted Turner with his wrestling knowledge and Turner appointed him as the man to run WCW. Turner will also be watching things very closely, giving Mr. Avatar certain goals he must accomplish. Both of these men will be in the building so it will be very interesting to see what happens! [B]The Steiner Brothers get a shot at Doom![/B] Doom retained the WCW World Tag Team Titles in a double pin situation against Arn Anderson and Barry Windham of the Four Horsemen at Starrcade while the Steiner Brothers won the Pat O'Connor Memorial International Cup Tag Team Tournament at Starrcade, earning them this WCW World Tag Team Title shot tonight here on WCW Saturday Night! But Teddy Long stepped in and said they'd only defend the titles if there was a ten minute time limit involved and the Steiner Brothers had to agree. [B]Rick Rude Debuts[/B] Ravishing Rick Rude is going to make his WCW Debut along with manager Paul E. Dangerously. He will be taking on veteran wrestler Beautiful Bobby Eaton. It should be quite a hard-fought showdown between these two top athletes. [B]United States Title Defense![/B] Lex Luger won the United States Heavyweight Title in a Bullrope match against Stan Hansen at Starrcade 1990 and his first title defense is tonight as he takes on the NightStalker! An impromptu title defense by Sting!"[/B][/COLOR] [COLOR=RED][B][U]Tony Schiavone:[/U] "This is going to be the greatest night in the history of WCW Saturday Night! fans, don't change that dial, our first match is the United States Title Defense!"[/B][/COLOR] ------ [B][SIZE=4]United States Heavyweight Title Match: Lex Luger defends against The NightStalker[/SIZE] The NightStalker was already in the ring coming back from break and the Total Package came out to a huge ovation from the crowd, carrying the United States Heavyweight Title. Luger and the NightStalker had an average power match, very good for what was being looked for here as the crowd responded to every move that Luger did. They cheered on Luger when he was being beaten down by his opponent and when Luger rallied back, the fans popped! Luger was making the signal for the Human Torture Rack when someone ran down to the ring and slid inside, attacking Luger with a chain and causing the DQ! Winner: Lex Luger Match Time: 5:41 Match Rating: C Nikita Koloff made his return here tonight, attacking Lex Luger from behind and choking him with that Russian Chain! Koloff pulled Luger up and leveled him with a Russian Sickle! The crowd booed Koloff as he left the ring victorious. ------ The cameras head backstage where Bob Caudle is standing by. [U][COLOR=RED]Bob Caudle[/U] Hello wrestling fans! Bob Caudle here alongside the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Sting! Sting, tonight is another chapter in your storied feud with the Nature Boy Ric Flair as you have agreed to put your title on the line against him. OWWWWW![/COLOR] ------ [SIZE=4]Handicap Match: The State Patrol vs. El Gigante[/SIZE] The fans genuinely enjoy the 7'7" El Gigante and he slapped fans' hands as he came down to the ring and stepped over the top rope. The State Patrol tried to attack El Gigante quickly and whipped him into the ropes, only to be double clotheslined down. Gigante took his time with both men inside the ring, dominating the bout until he hit his Choke hold on Lt. James Earl Wright and got a submision victory. Winner: El Gigante Match Time: 5:53 Match Rating: E- Following the match, El Gigante was making his round at the security railing when Big Van Vader stepped out of the crowd, attacking El Gigante! Vader picked up a chair and smashed it over the 7'7" wrestler, dropping him to his knees! Vader used those clubbing forearm blows to bring Gigante down and then beat his own chest, crying out.."Who's the man???" ------ [SIZE=4]Terry Taylor vs. Michael Wallstreet[/SIZE] This is a rematch from Starrcade that saw Michael Wallstreet pick up the victory. A very evenly fought technical contest that had Wallstreet talking to Alexandra York several times during the match to see what his next move should be. Taylor started getting the advantage but was hit in the back with the laptop that Alexandra York brought to the ring while Wallstreet distracted the official. Wallstreet nailed the Write-Off and picked up the cheap victory. Winner: Michael Wallstreet Match Time: 6:29 Match Rating: D+ ------ [SIZE=4]WCW World Tag Team Titles Match, 10 Minute Time Limit: Doom defends against the Steiner Brothers[/SIZE] Both sides coming off some hard-fought matches at Starrcade but the Steiner Brothers are looking for a major win here to give them the belts while Doom is looking to hold onto them yet again. The Steiner Brothers started red-hot with Rick Steiner showing his power in hitting Butch Reed with a German Suplex and taking down Ron Simmons with a Steinerline! Both members of Doom rolled out to talk with their manager and The Dog-Faced Gremlin went running around the ring, barking and getting the crowd to respond before moved on his hands and knees in his own corner with Scott standing over him. Rick remained in the ring while Butch Reed tagged out to Ron Simmons. The former FSU star used a rake of the eyes to gain the advantage on Rick Steiner and Doom went to work on the back of the Dog-Faced Gremlin, using quick tags in and out. During this part of the bout, they kept Rick Steiner isolated and baited Scott into the ring a couple of times so they could double team and choke his brother. Ron Simmons whipped Rick Steiner into the ropes and ducked his head a little too early! He caught a kneelift from Rick and then a Steinerline as both men fell to the mat. Referee Randy Anderson began the count on both men as they crawled toward their corners. Simmons made the tag...and so did Rick! Scott came in with punches on Butch Reed and then whipped him into the ropes: Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker! Scott made the cover but Ron Simmons came in to break up the pin. Rick came into the ring and we had a donnybrook! The time limit was being announced as only 10 seconds! Scott heard this and quickly signalled for the Frankensteiner! He whipped Butch Reed into the ropes...NAILED IT! Scott made the cover: 1...2...DING DING DING!!! Referee Randy Anderson stopped the count, signalling for the time limit draw! Winner: Time Limit Draw Match Time: 10:00 Match Rating: C+ ------ A graphic became the focus of the two announcers, highlighting the main event tonight as Sting will defend the NWA World Heavyweight Title against Ric Flair! ------ [SIZE=4]Brian Pillman vs. Jushin Thunder Liger[/SIZE] Flying Brian Pillman came out to a rousing ovation from the crowd and stood in the ring awaiting the arrival of Japanese sensation Jushin Thunder Liger. The crowd wasn't exactly sure what to make of this foreign wrestler when he first came out. Referee Randy Anderson was assigned to this fast-paced contest that saw hold and counterhold coming into play. Liger got several near-falls on numerous occassions but just couldn't quite keep up with Flying Brian. Pillman got the pinfall victory following a Missle Dropkick! Winner: Brian Pillman Match Time: 5:33 Match Rating: D+ ------ The attention turned backstage with Missy Hyatt. [U][COLOR=RED]Missy Hyatt[/U] Hello everyone. Missy Hyatt here alongside the man who will challenge for the NWA World Heavyweight Title later on tonight: Ric Flair. Ric, you didn't beat Sting at Starrcade. What makes you so confident about tonight?[/COLOR] [U][COLOR=GREEN]Ric Flair[/U] Why am I so confident, Missy? Because tonight is the night for the Horsemen. Whooooo. It's the night where we will come out to shine and where Sting will learn that you don't jump on a Horseman. At Starrcade, I couldn't wrestle my style. I had to wrestle as the Black Scorpion and not Ric Flair. But tonight, Whoooo there's gonna be a celebration in Blacksburg of a new World Heavyweight Champion! Missy, you're free to ride with the Horsemen anytime you like. You know you want to try some of Space Mountain. And if any of you ladies out there would like to ride Space Mountain remember you have to be 18 years of age or older. Whooooo![/COLOR] ------ [SIZE=4]The Patriots vs. Arn Anderson and Barry Windham[/SIZE] And speaking of the Horsemen, two of them are out here in our next bout as Arn Anderson and Barry Windham take on the WCW Patriots. Anderson and Windham dominated the bout, obviously displeased about what happened at Starrcade with the double pin. Anderson looked good out there in particular and he picked up the win over Todd Champion following a Spinebuster slam! Winners: Arn Anderson and Barry Windham Match Time: 7:14 Match Rating: D ------- Another graphic slid up on the screen, announcing that next week will be another United States Title defense as Lex Luger defends the belt against the World's Strongest Man Bill Kazmaier! ------ [SIZE=4]Rick Rude vs. Bobby Eaton[/SIZE] Rick Rude and Paul E. Dangerously made their way down to the ring and stood inside with Dangerously handing Rude a microphone. [U][COLOR=RED]Rick Rude[/U] Cut my music! What I would like to have right now is for all you fat, out-of-shape, no-good, Blacksburg Virginia REDNECKS to keep the noise down while I take my robe off and show you what a real sexy man is supposed to look like. Hit my music![/COLOR] The music returns as Paul takes the microphone and Rude strips from the robe, doing his hip swivel to boos from the crowd. The crowd cheers as Beautiful Bobby Eaton comes out to break up this lovefest and the match starts out quickly as Paul ducks out of the ring. Paul could be heard screaming instructions outside the ring as Rude fought back against the quick start of Bobby Eaton. Rude slowly dissected his opponent and eventually set up Eaton for the Rude Awakening neckbreaker! Once he hit that, he got the quick pinfall and then rose up, wiping sweat from his brow and down on Eaton, swiveling his hips again to boos from the crowd. Winner: Rick Rude Match Time: 7:23 Match Rating: B+ ------ A split-screen is shown, one in Sting's locker room and the other in Ric Flair's as they prepare for this epic encounter. They both turn and begin walking toward the entrance as it is just about time for the main event! ------ [SIZE=4]NWA World Heavyweight Title Match: Sting defends against Ric Flair[/SIZE] The crowd booed as the leader of the Four Horsemen came out first, moving into his corner and waiting for the arrival of the NWA World Heavyweight Champion! The crowd moved on their feet as Sting's music began to play and Sting came out from the back, high-fiving the little Stingers before he moved into the ring, releasing an 'OWWWWW!' and locking eyes with his opponent! Sting took off his ring jacket and then the title belt, handing it to senior official Nick Patrick. Nick held the belt up for everyone to see and then sent it outside the ring. He checked both wrestlers for foreign objects and then called for the bell. This great match started off slow as both wrestlers began the feeling out process between two men who have faced off many times in the past. Flair drew Sting back to a corner early and laid into him with a chop but it didn't have any effect on the Stinger! Another chop and Sting just shakes his head. Sting ****s a fist back and Flair begs off a moment, turning and moving for the ropes but Sting catches him! Sting whips Flair into the ropes and Flair comes back into a military press slam! Sting press Flair three times before dropping him to the mat and Flair grabs his back, crying out in pain and moving to a corner. Sting walks over and catches a thumb to the eye for his trouble! Flair immediately goes to the knee with a shoulder tackle to the back of the knee! Sting goes down as Flair gets back up and Flair drops an elbow onto Sting's knee, stretching it out as he puts his full body weight on top of it. Sting shakes his head when asked if he gives up to this submission move. No, it's far too early for that! Flair gives up after about thirty seconds and gets to his feet, dragging Sting's leg over to the ropes and landing down on top of it! Flair looks to the crowd and gives a little strut to a massive amount of boos! Flair comes back over to Sting and pulls him to his feet. He whips him in - no, reversed! Flair comes back and Sting sends him up and over with a back body drop! Flair pops back up and is taken down by a Sting clothesline! Another clothesline sends Flair up and over the top rope and down to the floor! Sting pounds his chest and releases an 'OWWWWW!' that is echoed by the crowd! Flair paces outside a moment and Sting steps forward, breaking the count but getting his legs grabbed by Flair! Flair pulls Sting out under the bottom rope and hits a forearm shot! He grabs Sting by the head and runs toward the ring post - BLOCKED! Sting extended his hand and stopped the momentum! Sting grabs Flair and rams HIS head into the ring post! Flair staggers around, puts up a couple of fists and then falls flat on his face outside the ring! Sting grabs Flair and rolls him back inside and then follows him back in and for the next few moments Sting is in control! A couple of near-falls later and Flair has re-taken the advantage, focusing back in on Sting's knee. Flair spends the next several minutes focused on that injured knee of the Stinger, even banging it against the ringpost! Flair comes back in and signals for the Figure 4 Leglock! Flair moves to lock it in and Sting reverses: Small Package...1....2...kickout! Sting nearly got the quick pinfall! Flair is back up and chops Sting in the corner. Several chops wear down the Champ and Flair tries to whip him across the ring but Sting reverses! Flair goes up and over the turnbuckles, running right into a Sting clothesline that drops him on the apron but Flair rolls back inside the ring as Sid Vicious walks out from the back. Sting sees him but keeps his attention on Flair! Sting whips Flair into the corner and then steps back and runs forward...Stinger Splash!!! Flair flops to the ground and Sting grabs his legs quickly...SCORPION DEATHLOCK!! Flair tries to hold on as Sid Vicious enters the ring behind Sting! Sid pushes the referee down and hits a Big Boot on Sting, sending Sting all the way outside the ring and causing the DQ! Winner: Sting Match Time: 14:55 Match Rating: B- Sid checks on Flair for a moment and helps the Nature Boy to his feet. Flair's eyes are wide and he begins yelling at Sid and pushing him! What in the world is going on here??? Sid stands there, looking down at Flair and we're out of time! === [SIZE=5]WCW POWER HOUR QUICK RESULTS[/SIZE] Highlights of the recent event between Ric Flair and Sid Vicious are played in a video package Tom Zenk defeated Angel Of Death in 4:59 by pinfall with a Flying Drop Kick. Tom Zenk makes defence number 1 of his WCW World Television title. Referee=Randy Anderson...D Tom Zenk is recovering from his match in the ring. Diamond Dallas Page runs in and attacks, beating Z-Man down into the mat. Big Van Vader defeated Norman The Lunatic in 5:14 by pinfall with a Vaderbomb. Referee=Randy Anderson...C Big Van Vader is being interviewed backstage by Tony Schiavone and challenges El Gigante to a match...Harley Race helped Vader during this segment. Dan Spivey defeated Charlie Norris in 4:38 by pinfall with a Bulldog. Referee=Randy Anderson...E+ In the ring, Nikita Koloff challenges Lex Luger to a match for the title! Michael Wallstreet defeated Terry Funk in 4:36 by pinfall with The Write-Off after Alexandra York interfered. Referee=Nick Patrick...D+ Ric Flair comes out to the podium and makes mention of how glad he is that his good friend Sid Vicious is on the outside looking in; always watching his back. "With friends like Sid Vicious," Flair whoops to the world, "Nothing can stand in my way." The Steiner Brothers defeated The Hardliners in 7:43 when Scott Steiner defeated Dick Slater by pinfall with a Frankensteiner. [B][CENTER][SIZE=4]WCW 1991: One More Try[/SIZE] -The feedback from the people who attended the WCW Saturday Night/Power Hour showing was excellent. Jack Avatar was told that he really struck gold with that show. -The competition offered a main event of The Ultimate Warrior teaming with the Texas Tornado to defeat the Legion of Doom. Also notable was Jake Roberts defeat of Sgt. Slaughter. -For those interested, Terry Funk is injured right now but working through a chest injury. He has come into Jack Avatar's office, stating that he has been having chest pains but the old son of a gun still wants to work. -WCW is looking to add several fresh faces and release some of the old ones. The only release known about at press time is former WCW Executive Vice President Jim Herd. As far as signings, fans will just have to watch the show and see. -Two wrestlers are on the injured list right now for WCW aside from Terry Funk. Robert Gibson is out for a little over 5 months at least with knee damage. Star Blazer is out for about a month and a half due to a neck strain. -WCW has instituted a drug policy for all of it's wrestlers. Hopefully, this will crack down on the amount of drugs used and keep everyone in the locker room safe and healthy. -It has been rumoured that Ted Turner is pushing for Sting to continue with his major push. It will be interesting to see how Jack Avatar responds to that while keeping the locker room chemistry healthy. Sting is, of course, the top good guy in WCW. -There are rumours of a possible split between the Horsemen but no one within the Horsemen are talking about it aside from Ric Flair coming out on the Power Hour and giving a personal endorsement of Sid Vicious. The question is, though, how long will that last? Or is this just another ploy by the Horsemen? -The Steiner Brothers are lobbying for a rematch with Doom at the Clash of the Champions but Teddy Long is putting them off, saying they had their chance on WCW Saturday Night and couldn't get the job done. -Rumours abound of a tournament coming soon to crown a new WCW Light Heavyweight Champion. Hopefully this will come soon as those Light Heavyweights can really fly. -Nature Boy Buddy Landell is working through a swollen calf muscle. -A famous WCW wrestler has signed with the World Wrestling Federation. Who is it? Call the WCW Hotline to find out! -In addition to the working agreement with New Japan Pro Wrestling in Japan, WCW has signed working agreements with Border City Wrestling in Canada, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre in Mexico and World Wrestling Council in Puerto Rico. -Hey yo! Rick Rude may be followed by another wrestler who, speaking under the condition of anonymity, says he has a history with Rude and he's ready to come after him! -WCW Saturday Night only drew a 2.39 rating on TBS, making the suits there very unhappy. -WCW Power Hour didn't draw a good rating on either station: a .28 on TBS and a .00 on TSN. The Japaenese group seemed more a cohesive unit in this matchup and that helped them with double and even triple teams throughout the encounter. Brian Pillman got in some good shots and looked really good out there but he eventually was pinned with a Liger Brainbuster, giving Liger a win against Pillman and Pillman a win against Liger. Also during this match, an announcement was made that the Light Heavyweight Title will be returning to WCW! Kazmaier showed some power early in the bout but Luger slowly wore the big man down. The Total Package showed why he is the United States Heavyweight Champion by getting the pinfall victory following a Running Forearm! But Gigante used his size to his advantage and was able to lock in that Choke and get the submission victory. El Gigante is headed to the Clash to take on Big Van Vader! [SIZE=4]If Flair or Vicious pin Sting, they win a title shot at Clash of the Champions: Ric Flair and Sid Vicious vs. Sting and Rick Steiner[/SIZE] A definite quality main event here on WCW Saturday Night! Sting and Rick Steiner took an early advantage, sending Flair and Vicious out of the ring to regroup. When the Horsemen regrouped, they began their focus on Rick Steiner. Steiner's leg was the focus of the group as Flair and Vicious tagged in and out, dominating Rick Steiner. Sting was continually reaching for a tag but all he could get was air as Rick Steiner was kept in the Horsemen corner. Steiner though moved out of the way of a Ric Flair avalanche in the corner and hit a German Suplex full release all impact on Flair! Both men were down and referee Randy Anderson was making his count. Slowly they began crawling toward their corners. Flair made the tag first....but in came Sting! The NWA World Heavyweight Champion took care of business with punches and clotheslines, getting the crowd rallied behind him as he knocked Flair out of the ring and then took to the task of taking Big Sid Vicious down! He began winding up his punch and connected, knocking Vicious against the turnbuckle! Sting climbed up and began punching away! The crowd counted along to ten! Sting dropped down and hooked Vicious for a suplex but Vicious reversed it and flapjacked the NWA Champ! Sting went down hard and then Vicious pulled him in quickly...POWER BOMB!!! Sting is lying on the mat and Vicious makes a cover: 1...Ric Flair jumps on the apron demanding a tag!...2...3!!!! Sid Vicious will face Sting at the Clash! Winners: Ric Flair and Sid Vicious Match Time: 10:16 Match Rating: C+ WOW! Ric Flair is LIVID!! He's yelling at Sid that this wasn't the plan! This wasn't the Horsemen's plan for tonight! Remember it's $1.25 for the first minute and .99 for each additional minute. Kids, get your parents' permission before calling! -Owen Hart offiicially signed to wrestle with his brother within the WWF. -Speaking of the competition, they held their Prime Time Wrestling show with a main event of Mr. Perfect defeating Kerry Von Erich. Other notables were Road Warrior Hawk defeating Shawn Michaels and a brawl between the Ultimate Warrior and the Macho King Randy Savage. -The feedback has been good for our WCW Saturday Night show though it appears that some of the viewers were underwhelmed this week. -A news report has come out, stating that Joseph Laurinaitis, also known as Road Warrior Animal has been caught with illegal steroids. This is not good for the World Wrestling Federation as Vince McMahon is headed for trial. -WCW Saturday Night drew a 2.33 rating on TBS, leaving the executives there talking about canning the show. -WCW Power Hour draws a .26 rating on TBS and a .00 rating on TSN, leaving the executives talking about canning this show as well. WCW is in some serious trouble if Ted Turner doesn't step up.[/B][/CENTER]

The driver gets out and opens the door and out steps the Nature Boy Ric Flair! Boos can be heard from inside as Ric adjusts his jacket and walks toward the building. Bob Caudle is on the scene. [U][COLOR=RED]Bob Caudle[/U] Ric, Ric can I get a few words about what happened last week?[/COLOR] Ric just brushes off the interview try and heads for the building. Wow! he must really be focused! ------ Inside the building, Woman is in the ring with Terry Taylor. [U][COLOR=RED]Woman[/U] I have searched long and hard for someone that I know I can help bring to the top. So tonight I bring to you none other than Stunning Steve Austin![/COLOR] Austin comes out to some boos from the crowd. They aren't exactly sure how to take the arrogant wrestler. He slides into the ring and flexes to more boos before turning his attention to Terry Taylor. [SIZE=4]Steve Austin vs. Terry Taylor[/SIZE] A decent debut for Austin, though he and Taylor really didn't seem to click inside the ring. But this was mostly a showcase for Austin's skills tonight. The crowd tried to rally behind Ranger Ross with chants of 'U.S.A.' but he was no match for Liger's speed. Liger got the pinfall on Ross with a Brainbuster to advance. Everyone wondered if you could put your ego aside and do what is best for the group or if you would start doing things for yourself and not doing things for the Horsemen. I tried to tell them that you'd be a team player. That you'd understand that the Horsemen are about being the best. That the Horsemen are the elite group run by Ric Flair. What you have done the last few weeks is you've made a liar out of Ric Flair. You've come out and done what you want and you haven't done it for the good of the group. You've done it for yourself. Luger has had it hard in these title defenses the last few weeks. This is as much of a hard-hitting contest as you would expect from these two brawlers. Harley Race gets involved behind the referee's back with a few stomps on Luger but Luger begins to make his comeback late in the match! The Total Package signals for the Human Torture Rack! Can he get the large Big Van Vader up?! Wait a second, Nikita Koloff is headed to the ring! He slides inside behind Luger and takes him down with a Russian Sickle to the back of the head! Luger just had a rough match with Big Van Vader, now another cowardly attack by Nikita Koloff causing the DQ. Scorpio surprised the world by hitting Garvin with that Scorpio Splash and getting the pinfall to advance! But does he ever? Eaton was slightly off his game this week, allowing Williams to dominate the match and really show off his skill. Dr. Death picked up a pinfall victory over Eaton following the Oklahoma Stampede. Dangerously came down to the ring first where Rude was handed a microphone by Dangerously. [U][COLOR=RED]Rick Rude[/U] Cut my music! What I would like to have right now is for all you fat, out-of-shape, inbred Richmond Virginia rednecks to keep the noise down while I take my robe off and I show you what a real man is supposed to look like. Now, hit my music![/COLOR] Rude goes to strip but the music that plays is for Terry Funk! Rude looks angry as Funk comes running down to the ring and slides inside. It's a brawl to start the match as the bell sounds. Paul E. exits the ring and we have our main event! Rude starts the match with the advantage, working over the neck of Funk with stomps and a long-held front facelock. He tosses Funk out of the ring where Paul E. gets a few shots in before throwing Funk back inside. But the crowd really works to get Funk back into the match! Funk absorbs some punishment from Rude, getting to his feet! It's a brawl in the middle of the ring with Funk getting the betterment of Rude! The legend brings Rude down with a body slam and a knee drop that gets a two count! The crowd cheers Funk on until Rude comes back with a poke to the eye and a high-standing vertical suplex! Rude grabs Funk, setting him up...RUDE AWAKENING!!! The Ravishing One swivels his hips over Funk before making a cover: 1...2...3! Rick Rude picks up the win headed toward the Clash! The focus turns toward the ring as Sid makes his way out and the announcers talk about how maybe he is answering Ric Flair's words right now! Sid enters the ring and is handed a microphone. [U][COLOR=RED]Sid Vicious[/U] Ric Flair, I've come out here for one reason and one reason only. I came out here to give you the response that you wanted. You wanted me to give you my shot at Sting and the WCW World Heavyweight Title? Well, you had your shot and you blew it and I had to save you from giving up. The Clash of the Champions is MY spot. The big moment came when Hall lifted Rude up and dropped him with the Outsider's Edge in the middle of the ring! Hall celebrated slightly but moved too close to the ropes. As the referee checked on Rude, Dangerously smacked Hall in the back of the head with the cell phone, smashing the phone to bits and pieces in the ring and sending Hall down to the mat! The crowd was visibly loud in their chants of 'U.S.A., U.S.A.' throughout the contest, knocking Koloff slightly off his game. Neither of these two men showed a great chemistry within the ring with the other. Koloff held the advantage midway through the match, focusing on the back of the Total Package and then locking in a reverse chinlock to try to wear him down. The crowd's chants got to Luger and he began making his comeback. He gave Koloff some elbows to the gut and took the Russian Nightmare down with several clotheslines right in a row! Luger flexed for the crowd as they cheered, signalling for that Human Torture Rack! Luger came over to Koloff but Koloff grabbed him by the tights and yanked him through the ropes to crack his head on the steel ringpost! When flesh meets steel, steel wins! Koloff rolled Luger up and grabbed the tights...1...2...kickout by Luger! Somehow the Total Package found it within himself to kick out! The crowd popped but Koloff gave Luger several stomps before exiting the ring and grabbing a chair! He slid the chair into the ring and it was immediately grabbed by Nick Patrick! Koloff slammed his hands down on the mat in frustration and then looked over toward his corner and the chain. As Nick Patrick moved to put the chair out of the ring, Koloff grabbed his chain and slid inside, waiting for Luger to use the ropes to get to his feet. Luger turned...CHAINED RUSSIAN SICKLE!!! Koloff tosses the chain out of the ring and makes the cover: 1...2...3! NO NO NO! It's the franchise of WCW, the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Sting against the disenfranchised former member of the 4 Horsemen: Sid Vicious! Sting tried to start the match out quickly against his much larger opponent but Sid was having none of it! He no-sold Sting's early offense and pushed the Champion to the mat! Sting got back up and jawwed at Vicious, ducking and hitting, ducking and hitting. Sting using his speed to his advantage! He bounced off the ropes and tried to hit a dropkick but Sid Vicious swatted him like he was a fly! Vicious picked up Sting and lifted him on his shoulder: body slam by the big man! Sting pops up, holding his back in pain before falling back to the mat. Sid bounces off the ropes and leaps - ELBOW DROP - MISSED! Sting rolled out of the way and gets up, stomping on Sid Vicious! Sting jumps down on him, mounting Vicious and throwing punches. Lefts and rights by the Champion! Sid grabs him by the throat to push him back but Sting continues to throw punches! Psycho Sid Vicious pushes Sting off him and gets back up and Sting throws a dropkick to the knee, slightly buckling Sid! Sting waves his arms, getting the crowd involved as WCW's franchise player hits another dropkick to the knee but Vicious doesn't go down! Sting bounces off the ropes - BIG BOOT BY VICIOUS! Ten minutes later, Vicious has been on the offensive, slowly wearing down the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Vicious' focus has been on Sting's back, probably setting him up for the Power Bomb later in the bout. Vicious drops Sting on his knee with a backbreaker, stretching him out in this submission hold but Sting won't give! Sting shakes his head no, getting some crowd support but Vicious pushes him off the knee and gets up to his feet, yelling at the crowd. Vicious pulls Sting up - BEAR HUG! This could easily be a submission here as the power of Sid Vicious is shown in this bear hug! He wrenches it in as Sting calls out in pain. Sting may have to give up here and live to fight another day! Wait a second, Ric Flair, Barry Windham, Arn and Ole Anderson have all made their way down to the ringside area! The Horsemen are clapping their hands and urging on Sid! Vicious is slightly distracted but keeps the Bear Hug on tight. The crowd urges Sting to break the hold and Sting gains his strength from all those little Stingers! He boxes Sid's ears! Again! And AGAIN! Sting is slowly breaking the hold and he falls down to one knee, trying to catch his breath. Sting gets back up and ducks a big boot! Sting strikes a shot to the one down knee of Sid and Sid falls in the corner! Sting climbs up and begins to punch away: 1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8..9..10! The crowd counting along with each punch before Sting drops down - OWWWWWWW! Sting whips Sid across the ring and bounces in the corner! He runs toward Sid - STINGER SPLASH!!! Sid is staggered but doesn't go down! Sting sees this and bounces in the opposite corner again - ANOTHER STINGER SPLASH!! Sid finally falls to the mat! Sting keeps an eye on the Horsemen now as he sees them and grabs Sid's legs - SCORPION DEATHLOCK!! Sting locks it on the tree trunk like legs of Sid Vicious! Sid cries out in pain, trying to fight it! He holds on about a minute before having to submit! Sting keeps his title![/I] [B]Winner: Sting Match Time: 21:38 Match Rating: B+[/B] [I]As Sting's music begins to play, the Horsemen come into the ring. Arn knocks Sting out of the ring and the Horsemen take turns stomping on Sid Vicious! Flair with a particularly vicious kneedrop on Sid! The crowd booing the attack by the Horsemen! Sid just went through a very tough match! Arn drops an elbow and then manages to lift Sid enough to hit a Spinebuster! What a powerful move by the Horsemen Enforcer! The crowd suddenly rises in cheers! Wait a second, we've got someone coming down to the ring! He slides inside and meets the Horsemen dead on with punches and a big boot! He takes down both Andersons with a double clothesline and when the ring is cleared, he stands over Sid Vicious, checking on him. That man? Is DANGEROUS DAN SPIVEY! Vicious' former partner in the Skyscrapers! What a way to end the pay-per-view! Sullivan made one mistake by setting his head too early for a back body drop and paid for it with Sting kneelift. Sting fed off the crowd, working Sullivan over before whipping him into a corner - STINGER SPLASH! Sullivan falls over and Sting grabs the legs - Scorpion Deathlock! Awesome Kong started out the match using his strength and size on the Crippler. Kong dropped Benoit with a fallaway slam and got a two count. He got Benoit set up for the Big Splash but Benoit moved out of the way! Benoit got his arms as much around Kong as he could and somehow got him over in a German Suplex! All Bridge, No Impact! The Horsemen headed right into the ring and stared down Sid and Dan from their corner. Sid and Arn started the match. Arn tried to go right at Sid Vicious but the former Horsemen just pushed Arn into the corner and Arn's no small man! The Skyscrapers dominated the early-going of the match against the Enforcer but a miss in the corner by Spivey had Anderson going right after his knee. He tagged out to Flair and the focus became Spivey and his knee. Ric went right to work on it, using a kneebar and dropping a knee against the knee of Spivey. Both Horsemen kept Spivey grounded inside the ring, using quick tags in and out. Ric went for a Figure 4 Leglock late in the bout but Spivey kicked him off with his other leg and right down to the mat! The crowd cheered as Spivey used the ropes to get up and took Flair down with a clothesline! Both men were crawling toward their corner with Vicious reaching out a long way. Spivey got the tag but so did Ric! Arn held his hands up as Sid stepped into the ring but Sid ignored it going right after the Enforcer! Psycho Sid lifted Arn into a beautiful vertical suplex, planting the Enforcer in the mat!
