Still Standing: ...Where it all begins again (C-Verse)

'It started with a phone.....' It all began in September 2006. To say I worked in rubbish job would be an understatement of extreme measures. My life consisted of getting up, going to work and coming home again, with very little to distract me during the quieter moments. The job itself was a surveillance company and I was responsible for installing their cameras, however the company itself had so many shady backhand deals going on that it wouldn’t take much to see them crumble and come crashing down. One good police investigation would do it. It was after one particularly boring day at work, and I was walking back through town on my way home, when a man flew past me on his pushbike practically knocking me to the ground in the process. He carried on without a word of apology and as I was picking myself up off the floor, I saw a phone on the pavement and scooped it up. It must have been the cyclists. I gave it an hour before ringing the number saved under ‘Home’. I spoke to the women that answered and it turned out that the gentleman in question wasn’t home, but working at the moment and that I should call there, but since I didn’t know where ‘there’ was, I left my number and asked to be called back when he was in. The call came the next day, and the cyclist was very apologetic about knocking me over. His name was Karl Dexter and he had been in a rush to get to a show. Turns out that he was a referee for a local wrestling show that night. He asked to meet so he could get his phone returned. We met that afternoon at a place with golden arches, and he kept thanking me for his phone. He claimed that most other people would have taken the list of numbers and sold them on – people like British Samurai, Geordie Jimmy, Highland Warrior and Tommy Cornell were in there. Karl laughed at me when I sad ‘Who?’ He sat there and tried to explain that they were the figureheads of British Wrestling today but my mind drew a blank. That’s not to say I had no wrestling knowledge. When I was younger I had watched Sam Strong and Rip Chord on Hollywierd TV and had cheered them. But that was when I was little. I’d grown up since, and somewhere along the way, I’d lost interest. It was at this point that Karl dropped a bombshell on me. During our conversation I had told him that I wasn’t exactly loving my job and he offered to put a word in with some of the promotions he did work with and try get me employment. I thought it a token gesture of appreciation and thanked him thinking the end of it. Days past by and the events slipped my mind, until one day I got a call. It was from a very friendly lady called Ashleigh who worked for Men of Steel Combat. She was ringing on behalf of her boss, who wanted me to know that they would keep my details on record just in case they needed a new roadie. About 2 hours later, my phoned rang again and upon answering it, I was greeted with the following response. ‘My name is Robert Brown, and I have a very interesting proposition for you’
Lets see if people twig on whats happening then before i post it. Im putting together the last of the initial storylines before the first show goes up though.
'A Year In The Life' I couldn't believe what i was hearing.. Robert Brown (aka British Samurai) was offering me a job at Ring Of Fire and i happily accepted. After some planning i put on my first show - One Wild Night - at the Badgeridge Social Welfare Centre in the Midlands Merle O'Curle Vs Jay B Adam Matravers & Petey Barnes Vs Absolutely Flawless Walter Morgan Vs K'Lee Hawkins British Samurai Vs Leo Price Stevie Stoat Vs Don Henderson For my very first show, i thought it had gone rather well with the event selling out, however even with a packed arena apparently we didn't make a profit and things would have to change. I proceeded to cut some of the more expensive members of the roster in an effort to trim the costs and finally in February we made a profit. Admittingly it was only £378 but i couldn't complain. In March things started going sour. I had told Stevie Stoat that i had no plans for him to take the belt off my champion Leo Price, and he developed a dislike towards me, even to the point of turning his friend Justin Blackham against me.. Slowly but surely the staff began to head to his way of thinking and infighting broke out, spilling into the matches themselves - often to the point of cheating and foriegn objects being used and the crowd were very vocal about their dislike towards it. In the end, i had enough and fired Stoat and Blackham, but the damage had been done, and attendance was massively effected. I began a slow process of rebuilding my roster - by weeding out Stoats influence - until only 4 of the original roster remained. I passed the ROF Championship over to Adam Matravers and saw the ratings slowly climb back up. But the process was slow, and British Samurai was not a patient man
Anybody see where this is heading?
'The Review' British Samurai called me into his office during the 2nd week of October. I had originally thought that it was just for a yearly review of how i had done but the moment i stepped through the door i knew i was wrong. Besides Samurai's desk stood Justin Blackham and Stevie Stoat. "Take a seat Adam" Samurai said. Fear had practically rooted me to the spot. Blackham and Stoat had taken a real dislike to me ever since i dropped them from Ring of Fire during my early months here and promised to get back at me. Today looked like it was gonna be that day. Samurai continued "First of all I must say that our attendance has soared the last few months and thats mainly due to you and our profits have never been better. Again due to you. However, the locker room continues to be a mess. No order at all and that guy you hired to look after our guys seems more content to play cards than anything else. Thats why i have terminated his contract." "You gave him what.. 6 weeks to get to grips with the job and everyone who works for us. " "And then there is all the cheating in the matches. You fired some of my roster due to cheating and yet the guys you brought here do it with no reprecussions. Its very hypocritical of you." "It was something that Razor and I were trying to stamp out." "Well that doesn't matter now. You remember Mr Stoat here dont you. He had very generously offered to stamp out cheating and disobedience in our roster but with 2 conditions. The first was to fire Manny Morham and replace him with Mr Blackham here. And the second...." "...Was that he fired you" Stoat exclaimed. "So clear out your desk please. I want you gone in an hour." On that note i stepped out his office. Outside a few of the roster were waiting for me. The Minor Annoyance thanked me for giving him the opportunity to work and that would eagerly work with me again. I went past the locker room and saw Razor Valentine clearing his locker. He couldn't even look at me. My desk was cleared in 20 minutes and i headed for my car.

'Down But Not Out' "...So i would like you all to meet the new Ring Of Fire Champion STEVIE STOAT!!!" October 2007 I was at Orpington Halls in Southern England along with 230 others when i heard British Samurai announce that to a much smaller crowd than i use to bring in. I turned and left no longer caring about the promotion i used to work for. Upon my departure from ROF last month, Stevie Stoat was resigned and Justin Blackham took over annoucing again causing my young announcer Robert Appleseed to be let go. Worse still was the fact that Karl Dexter - the guy that really got me into the business - was the first dropped by ROF following my departure. That was then followed up by The Minor Annoyance who despite his like of skill, looks, talent (well everything), i had taken a liking too. "Damn man. I know he owns the company, but did he have to declare himself the Number #1 Contender" a voice said. I snapped out of my internal monologue and realised that some fans were leaving the Halls in disgust. When i quizzed them on what i had missed, it turned out that British Samurai had not only given the belt to Stevie Stoat without having to earn it but had then declared himself the Number #1 contender. They told me that they thought it had been a mistake to fire the last booker and they couldn't even get a decent new one to replace him. So they had settled on Tara Green who could barely even manage people properly. We chatted for about an hour about various wrestlers and promotions and it was just after that i realised exactly what i had lost. I couldn't have cared any less about ROF but i missed the industry dearly. And having spent most of my money this last month meeting promotion owners and trying to get a new booking job without any luck, i knew it was over for me. And just to make matters worse, as i started walking home it started to rain A Few Months Later..... Typically for England it was still raining and i sat there waiting in an tiny office. My application was sitting on the desk as the man sitting in front of me thought it over. This was it.. My last chance. Since leaving Ring Of Fire i was unable to get anything more than warehouse work and i was sick of it. I wanted something more. Yet again i owed Karl Dexter for this opportunity. He had arranged everything for me and all i had to do was make an impression. And i wanted to do this; for him and for me. I had been very well prepared for this appointment. I had come with references, ideas, accounts breakdowns and mission statements and i honestly thought it had gone well. Yet he just sat there behind his desk without saying a word now for 15 minutes. After another look through my application he finally looked at me, smiled, stood up and offered a handshake. "OK. Lets do this" I shook his hand and couldn't stop grinning

From totalextremewrestling.com
Frank Simmons Founds PWA Frank Simmons held a press conference last night, announcing the formation of his own promotion, PWA. He revealed that he had big plans for the new company, and hoped to be able to announce the first of several big name wrestlers who would be joing them within the next few weeks. When prompted about the creation of PWA, Simmons had this to say: ' This isn't an overnight decision to form a wrestler promotion the likes of which you hear about on wrestling forums almost every week. This is a carefully considered business plan. We have long term goals in place that should help PWA grow to a contender.. Owner goals i call them. Every company should have them' Simmons also had this to say about the 'We' mentioned earlier. 'I've had a small financial hand in creating PWA, by a gentleman who smarks may now as the former booker of a company which is known for a circle of flames. He's in negotiations right now some some of the cream of the UK scene to bring them to PWA' We caught up later on with PWA's new booker who had this to say on Simmon's quotes 'Cream of the UK scene.. He better give me a bigger budget.. Right now i've got The Minor Annoyance getting back to me, and Jamie Anderson on hold.. Wait.. Why are you writing this down.... Oh bugger....' More news on PWA when we get it
If Marvel can do it, then so can i. Consider this Ultimate PWA. With the majority of the story out the way, i think some history is in order. Everything written up so far (besides the last post) was an old game of mine back on TEW05. I stared a diary called 'Started from nothing' with the backstory about Karl Dexter losing his phone and me getting a job at ROF. I booked shows for ROF from September 06 to 07 and at that point, i had kinda grown bored of them. It was my first ever game of TEW and i hadn't realised that you had to have clean finishes, and my booking sucked as a result. Looking through the profiles i had noticed that Stevie Stoat had taken a dislike towards me and began to weave a story about my eventual dismissal knowing full well that i was just going to start a new diary off the back of it. PWA was born The initial PWA show had 13 people attend to see this fine spectacle: Glen Ward V The Scotsman (F) 'Bullet' Bob Cronin Vs Jeff Amazon (F) Arthur T Turtle Vs Ultra Fly(D) Finally in 2009, PWA turned a corner and started getting attendance in excess of over 100, and the shows increased from every 6 weeks to monthly. PWA was finally making a profit, and wasn't soon before a womens division appeared, spearheaded by Nina The Pyscho Ballerina and Miss Information, who somedays were outperforming the boys. On PWA's 'Wrestlemania' style show's second anniversary, the announcement was made that a TV deal had been secured. F' The Fire was heading to Continental Sports X1. Admittingly on at midnight, but it was a start. One that was soon built on with 2,000 attendance at PPV events and PPV deal signed. The TV shows carried on through to 2011, when i was burnt out from writing PWA and decided to end things.. The storylines had started to crumble and the renaming of the championships was a mistake i really hated. Also 07's 1.3 patch had crippling effects on most peoples saves. PWA was dead... Until now that is. Im bringing my baby back.
