I'm with Jerry Eisen, as always, and our special guest tonight, Grandmaster Bling. Without any delay, we head directly to Mr. Eisen in the ring.
Richard Eisen + Troy Tornado In-Ring Promo Richard Eisen starts the show in the ring. The Wisconsin crowd is loud and booing. After a moment, Eisen demands if this is a typical Wisconsin welcome, which gets the crowd booing him more. Rather than wait until they quiet down, he just talks loud as he says that he wants to introduce them all to the newest star for the Supreme brand, Troy Tornado. The jeers turn to cheers very quickly as Troy Tornado emerges from the Supreme Gate. He does his typical entrance – the stop and pose at the edge of the stage, then violently ripping the sunglasses from his face and tossing to the crowd before continuing down the ramp. He climbs into the ring and plays to the crowd a bit. The crowd reaction is loud and long. The bleach-blond star has gone supernova since joining from SWF's rivals in May. Even his initial heel run in Golden's stable was hardly a blip, and its clear the fans love the man now. Eisen waits until the crowd quiets a bit, and then he explains that after Tornado won a Challenger's Choice contract, a request was made to use that contract to face Rich Money for the SWF World Heavyweight championship. As the General Manager of the Supreme brand, Eisen felt it was important look out for the best interest of the brand. Although amendments made to the Supreme Wrestling Federation Charter for the brand split only require that a given wrestler switch brands if they win a title attached to a given brand, Eisen felt that it would be a safer move to make Tornado move before he got his match for the SWF World title on a pay per view. It meant giving up a wrestler off the Supreme brand, but it was no one that Eisen or the fans would likely miss. The GM and CEO then hands off the microphone, and a smiling Troy Tornado says that there is a reason that he isn't carrying the briefcase with his Challenger's Choice contract with him right now... Because he cashed it in early in the evening when he made the arrangements with Mr. Eisen for the match. So everything has been agreed... But before he announces the details of the match, he would like Rich Money to come out. Rich Money, Remo + Ace Newton It takes a moment for Rich Money to emerge through the Supreme Gate. Carrying his SWF World Heavyweight championship and wearing street clothes, Hard Cash is joined by Remo and Ace Newton. The trio makes a bee line for the ring. The champ does not look impressed. When Money and his friends are in the ring, Tornado continues. He says that the SWF World Heavyweight championship is the only belt in the entire Supreme Wrestling Federation that he covets. And he believes that he's the man who is capable of taking it away from Money. The champ gives a laugh at this. Tornado moves on with his explanation, saying that he has plenty of respect for Money and his abilities in the ring. You don't become the world champion in the SWF without those abilities. But see, Tornado has the same assets, the same potential to become a world champion. But unlike Rich Money, he'll make a champion the fans can love and appreciate. After listening to this, Money can't resist calling for a microphone himself. He starts on the mic by laughing. He says the Tornado made a mistake, that he really should have stayed on the geriatrics brand with his friends. Because first Tornado is going to get buried by Rich Money, then he's going to get buried by all these talented Generation Supreme kids, who are hungry and just looking for targets like Tornado to take down. But if Tornado wants to take a shot at the beautiful belt and end the Beautiful Reign, then he's welcome. Tornado assures Money that he can handle himself. He goes on to explain that winning the Challenger's Choice contract left him with an interesting conundrum, because its not just about getting the match with the champion, but choosing the stipulations. And Tornado had to choose he carefully. He begins to tick off the options he considered. A no disqualification match, perhaps, but that would just be inviting Money's goons to interfere. A cage match, then, would prevent that... but the champion seems pretty comfortable in a cage. Or even the Supreme Cell. Tornado says he even considered a barbed wire match or perhaps a light tube death match, but he couldn't risk wrecking up the money-maker, as he points at his face with a smile. But really, there could be only choice. One choice that made so much sense. That Rich Money had yet to prove proficient at. That was so fitting... A ladder match. The confident smirk slips off Hard Money's face for a split second, but its quickly back. He shrugs, and says that he has no problem with that. But when, he inquires, exactly is this match to take place. Eisen responds, saying that it will be at SWF Break Like the Wind 2008 in November. The crowd reacts as expected. When the crowd quiets, Money replies that this obviously won't work. Given that he's already scheduled to wrestle a tag match with Remo against a couple of old timers, this match obviously can't happen at that pay per view. After a moment of silence to build the tension, Richard Eisen says that the tag match won't happen. Not in that form, at least. Rich Money will be facing Troy Tornado in a ladder match for the SWF World Heavyweight champion. Sean McFly and Jack Bruce will face Remo and a new partner... Eisen hesitates for a second before he turns and points at Ace Newton. The crowd boos. Newton wiats a second, and then gives a shrug and a nod. The crowd suddenly roars... Sean McFly + Jack Bruce Sean McFly and Jack Bruce emerge through the Supreme Gate. McFly looks annoyed while Bruce looks pretty indifferent. They start to make down towards the ring, but Richard Eisen holds up a hand to tell them to halt at the edge of the stage. McFly stares down at Rich Money, who glares back. Its obvious that things aren't done between these two. After a moment, McFly is tossed a microphone. The American Tiger starts by saying that he doesn't think this is fair, Mr. Eisen... The CEO and GM cuts McFly off, saying that fair has nothing to do with it. Everyone needs to remember that the Supreme Wrestling Federation, and especially the Supreme brand, is not some kind of democracy. Its might a “home of the brave”, but its a “land of the free”, because Richard Eisen is the law here. But in this case, it is fair. Because the stipulation agreed to last week stands – if McFly and Bruce win the tag match, then Sean McFly will get another shot at Rich Money at the following pay per view. McFly nods, saying that is fair. Eisen ends the segment, saying that if everyone is finally happy, he has work to do. As the owner makes his way out of the ring, Rich Money wears a small smirk as he looks back and for the between the focused looking Sean McFly and the confident smile on Troy Tornado's face. Grade: A
Duane Fry: Money... Joe Sexy takes well over a minute after the bell before he'll engage Kirk Jameson, as Sexy preens, wastes times, and leers at the Neptune twins who are outisde the ring. Jameson eventually gets impatient and he begins to chase his big opponent, with the youngster unleashing a series of his hard-snapping kicks. He literally kicks Sexy's *ss. When Swoop McCarthy gets in, he bull rushes first Sexy and then McClean, surprising both when his power. Swoop goes for a couple of pin attempts and comes surprisingly close to getting the shock upset win. After the third near-pin that Sexy interrupts just in time, the tag champions slide out of the ring together to regroup. The come back in focused and doing what they do best – cheating. Its an impressive display of dirty tricks – constant referee distractions, eye rakes, double-teams, and a shot to Jameson's head with one of the title belts. The referee doesn't see it, and it makes for an easy pinfall for McClean. Referee Darren Smith ignores the protests of Kathy and Jen Neptune. He starts by saying that he really misses the love his life, Hannah. He asks whether the crowd or anyone in the back has seen... Before he can get further than that, Campbell attacks. Urged on by Playboy Jake Sawyer at ringside, Campbell lays into the former Shooting Star champion with a series of elbows to the head, followed up by several nasty kicks. The opening few minutes of the match are all Campbell and he goes for several pinfall attempts, but Devine fights through. He finally fights back with a Devine Intervention out of nowhere. Devine follows that up with some quick aerial attacks, gaining the upper hand. Devoid of the advantage, Campbell starts to fold. Devine gets the pinfall after a Devine Dream Drop. Darryl Devine Wins at 6:47 via Pinfall Grade: C+ Darryl Devine, Joss Thompson + Sean Deeley Post-Match Promo After his win, Devine has no chance to celebrate. His attention is immediately grabbed by Joss Thompson and Sean Deeley standing on the stage. They applaud Devine's win, but make no move to head down to the ring. Thompson has a microphone. Thompson congratulates Devine on managing to score a win without his girlfriend or manager or whatever Hannah Potter is supposed to be to him. But its something he better get used to. Devine seems confused, as does the crowd. Deeley grabs the microphone and says that he has a little story they want to tell. Though he has improved significantly on the mic, he is not much of a storyteller which makes his tale amusing. Deeley says that last week, after Supreme TV – which Devine should remember, as its the one where Payne tore him to pieces – he and Thompson were leaving the Isaak Road Arena in Joss' awesome Escalade. And they hit the Interstate when they heard something banging around in the back, so they pulled off to the side of the busy Interstate. Hey looked in the back, but it wasn't something rolling around back there making the noise... It was someone... Hannah Potter That someone walks out to join Badd Kompany on the stage. There is elation on Devine's face. Potter looks a bit different, wearing a low-cut top, a short but loose skirt that shows plenty of leg, and make up to emphasize her delicate features. Thompson says that they found Hannah for Devine... but they're going to keep her... The delight on Devine's face turns to confusion. He simply doesn't comprehend... Potter takes the microphone. She says that her disappearance was a test. One that Devine very obviously failed. He couldn't even remember what she looked like! But its more than. Its because Darryl never appreciated or respected her. He never listened to her or cared what she had to say. He couldn't comprehend that she knew just as much about this business as he did. And whenever she offered advice, he would just smile and pat her head, like she was a child. But as everyone can clearly see, Hannah is not a child. Basically, Darryl, its over. In the ring, Devine now looks stricken. His confusion has given way to inconsolable pain. Not quite done, Potter says that meeting Joss and Sean here not only convinced her that leaving Darryl was the right thing, but that she did have a place in this business. A place here in the Supreme Wrestling Federation. Because unlike Darryl, they value and appreciate her input. They want her advice and guidance. So much so that they have asked her to become their manager... and she has accepted. She ends off by telling Darryl to have a nice life... With that, Potter drops the microphone and walk away, hips swaying. Thompson and Deeley don't depart, standing on the stage and staring down at Devine with evil grins on their faces. Campbell and Sawyer are still at ringside as well, watching with bemusement as they slowly make their way up the ramp. After a long moment of standing there, stunned, Devine finally reacts. He drops to his knees, looks to heaven, and lets loose an anguished wail. Deeley, Thompson, Campbell, and Sawyer all stand on the stage, having a good laugh at Devine's expense. The petitte young woman provides plenty of advice to the tandem as they systematically demolish the big Black Label duo. The technical mastery of Deeley is on display, as he works over first Elderberry, then Bonham. The powerful brawling attacks of the powerhouse tandem find little use in this match. With Potter providing the leadership, its almost like the team has found themselves on a new level... She tries to ask them where they are going, but they simply say to a “proper set”. The duo lead her outside, along the backside of the arena. The cross the darkened concrete of the parking lot to the area where the production trucks and fleet of semi trucks are parked. All of the trucks are shiny and new, in Supreme blue and plastered with SWF logos... Many of them are also plastered with graffiti for “La Revolución del Diablo”. Marquez and Montero stop and grin proudly. They have been busy. Besides the graffiti, there are several flags of Mexico draped about as well. As Hesketh finally catches up to them, they both do the double-fisted Mexi-Power salute. Huffing a bit despite looking to be in fine shape, Hesketh immediately launches into his litany of questions. She begins by asking Marquez who he should face next for his SWF North American championship. The champion says that after proving that he is the best there is of the Generation Supreme stars, so facing more of them will prove nothing. Ese, he wants to prove himself by facing some of the best in the SWF. He's sure that Meester Eisen will try to find someone he thinks capable of taking the belt away from Marquez, so it should be a challenge. Hesketh asks about Montero's loss last week, and Marquez cuts her off. He says that it ain't fair that people are criticizing Montero for that, ese. He's only 18 years old and one already one of the most skilled wrestlers in the entire Supreme Wrestling Federation. He's going to be a champion someday, homes. Montero nods knowingly, and Hesketh just shrugs. The interview then glances around at the graffiti and flags, asking what happened here. Montero explains that, homes, Mexico has a great history of revolutionaries. And those histories have taught Los Diablos that a key to a guerilla revolution like theirs is marking your territory. It will inspire the people and strike fear into the heart of the bourgeois ruling elite. So Meester Eisen and his ilk best watch out for what's coming. For the Revolución that they have brought up on themselves. Grade: B+
Grandmaster Bling: The revolution has been marked... Those two ain't phunking around! Anderson and Scout have an innate familiarity as opponents that almost makes it seem as though they might have faced each other before. It is wide open match with endless action as no one maintains the advantage for a significant length of time. The match passes the ten minute mark without anyone coming close to scoring the win. Things get chaotic after that, as the mess of folks at ringside – Jessie, Guide, Sara Silver, Mr. Hill, and Mr. Jackson – start to get involved. A shoving match between Hill and Guide happens, which distracts Scout and Anderson takes advantage. A distraction from Sara Silver allows Mr. Jackson to nail Scout with a big boot on the ring apron while the ref isn't looking. While Scout is down, it should make for an easy pinfall for Mr. Anderson, but he instead just grins at his down opponent. He motions to his associations, and Hill slides a chair under the rope to him. Referee Darren Smith isn't blind to this and tries to stop stern-looking Anderson from using it, but the wrestler grabs it back. He then drives it into the ribs of Scout, causing the ref to call for the bell. Guide is quickly into the ring to try to help his tag partner and friend, but he's quickly overwhelmed by Hill and Anderson working together, with a bit of help from the big Mr. Jackson. The Silverback's attack both of The New Wave with the chair, clearing out of the ring when more referees appear. The Silverback's are laughing at the damage they have caused, slowly making their up the ramp... The man with more titles than Apollo Creed is in a dark but obviously well-appointed office. He is staring hard at the man seated across the desk from him, Adrian Garcia. The manager is flanked by RK Hayes and the monster Payne. Eisen slowly raises his eyes to look at the masked behemoth. He then asks Garcia if its necessary for Payne to be present for this. Garcia lets out a slight laugh, saying that having him wander about the backstage without anyone to control him would be a far worse choice. Eisen leans back, considering something. He asks why he should even give thought to something like this, given what Garcia has had to say about Eisen since he brought Payne to the SWF. Garcia says that Mr. Eisen had his moment of payback by putting Payne in that laughable ladder match two weeks ago, hardly a match made for a 350 pound man. Yet Payne went out there and did what he does – destroy people. To instill the fear in them. And if Mr. Eisen truly does not fear what Payne can do to the SWF roster, then he will make this match. The big boss nods slowly, then inquiries as to why this opponent? Why a champion when belt supposedly do not matter to Payne? Garcia laughs, saying that the belt does not matter. For all they care, it can be a non title match. But its a matter of humility. These revolutionaries believe that through their meaningless actions, they can somehow affect a major change to this promotion. That kind of change cannot be brought with words or slogans or graffiti. It can only be brought by Payne. There is a long moment of consideration before Eisen finally says that he agrees, Payne will face Antonio Marquez at Break like the Wind in November... And the SWF North American championship will be on the line. Adrian Garcia merely nods while Payne does not react at all. Garcia rises and starts to leave the office, but he stops. He says that there is one question that Payne wants answered by Eisen... and answered truthfully... Did Eisen have anything to do with Skull DeBones becoming Vengeance? Eisen stares at Garcia for a long moment before he answers. He says that he's tired of that question and he will never forgive Phil Vibert for going public with a baseless accusation like that. What reason would the great Richard Eisen have to be involved in something like that? Garcia stares at Eisen and says that was the answer he expected. And the answer he knows is a lie. A lie that represents everything that is wrong in the Supreme Wrestling Federation. A permeating corruption that starts at the very top. It starts with Richard Eisen. The man stares back at Garcia. Eisen's fists ball up and his lip curls into a sneer. He weighs his words before answering. He says that yes, he was behind it. Yes, he was the one who chose to take a the big lumbering Skull DeBones and have him turned into an unstoppable smashing machine entirely focused on obtaining the SWF World Heavyweight championship. He did it because he couldn't stand have someone delinquent and deviant as Jack Bruce holding that belt, someone who brought shame to the promotion that Eisen built. He did it because what matters more than glory or fame or money is power... and power is control. He did it, because d*mnit, he could. I do what I want, Richard Eisen finishes. Garcia listens to the explanation and when the owner is done, he nods slowly. He turns and walks out of the office but he touches Payne on the shoulder as he does so. As soon as Garcia is out the door, Payne erupts. It happens in a blur of chaotic violence. The masked monster charges across the office, simply tossing the heavy desk aside to get to Eisen. The executive attempts to scramble out of the way, but he's too slow as Payne shoves him back into the chair and hammers with him with several heavy forearms across the shoulders and neck. Eisen is then lifted from his chair and tossed into a bookcase. This beating continues for several minutes, the 54-year old being simply destroyed by the 6'9”, 350 pound wrecking machine. Security officials are trying to get into the office to save the boss, but Hayes is effectively blocking the doorway. When Payne finally lifts Eisen up by the throat and viciously smashes him down through the heavy wooden desk, it is over. Payne stands over the broken and unmoving owner before stepping away. Hayes finally lets the hoard of SWF officials through, but they are concerned with Eisen, not the monster Payne. The twin brothers work together with a seamless fluidity that is very impressive. They never put either Hard Cash or The Alpha Dog into any real danger, but their skills and youthful enthusiasm make the experienced stars work for the win. The opening few minutes of the match is a bit of a feeling out process, as the Keith boys show off their skills. But some cheap tactics from the champion Money and the power of Remo turn things in their favor, as they isolate Matthew Keith. He finally gets his brother tagged in, and Greg Keith looks like a mirror image of his father as he goes after both Money and Remo. Despite the prodigious skills of the youngster, that's a losing proposition and Remo gains the advantage back with his athleticism and power. Its The Alpha Dog carrying the go home sequence of the match, punishing both Keith boys before unleashing The Destroyer on Matthew Keith and then scoring the pin. Its not that they don't respect The American Tiger. Its that he's taking the spot that they should occupy at the top of the card. It should have been one of them facing Rich Money for the SWF World Heavyweight championship at Let the Games Begin. The SWF should be about looking to the past for immortals... It should be about looking to the future for immortals. Like the Bumfholes. Because they are not going to allow themselves to be overlooked. The SWF has created its own future with Generation Supreme, and the time for the future has come. There won;t be anymore keeping the kids down. The kids are alright. The kid are taking over. Gilmore comes out flying, putting the youngster on his heels and taking control of the match. It looks like the veteran might make quick work of Rich Money's protege. But Newton is not so easy to put down. After a few minutes of getting no offense, he slides out of the ring to get a breather and some advice from his manager Jake Sawyer. When Gilmore chases, Newton moves quickly around to the opposite side, hiding behind Jessie. He shoves Jessie at her husband, and when Gilmore grabs her to keep her from falling, Newton hits him with a flying dropkick to the chin. Jessie hits the floor hard, Gilmore harder, and Newton takes control of the match. A long sequence of offense from Newton sees several pinfall attempts, but Gilmore is far from done. He thrills the crowd by battling back, and the last few minutes of the match are a continual build as the men trade big spots with aerial attacks and blocked finisher attempts. Newton goes for his Aces High, but Gilmore counters it into his snap Sky High Suplex, following it up with a Sky High Elbow, and finally his Anger Management finisher to get the win. Angry Gilmore: I wanted to come out during the opening segment tonight and have my say, but I didn't get out in time. So I'm out here now and I have a few things to say. But there is only man I want to say them to. So Rich Money, get out here. It takes a moment, but the SWF World Heavyweight champion emerges through the Supreme Gate, just moments after his protégé disappeared through it. Money is still in ring gear. Angry Gilmore: I want Money to have a microphone for this. Someone get that man a microphone. Someone tosses the champ a microphone. Rich Money: Why thank you so kindly, Gilmore. Angry Gilmore: I don't want your thanks. Rich Money: I don't want to be out here right now, Gilmore. So what do you want? Angry Gilmore: We'll get to that, champ. First, a quick history lesson. Because some of these younger fans might not remember our history together. Rich Money: Do we really need to bother, Gilmore? I'm busy and quite honestly have better things to do. Angry Gilmore: No, I think you need to remember as much as these fans do. See, I joined the SWF in 2002, having been a star in Japan and holding one of the most prestigious titles in Japanese wrestling. I won the SWF North American championship by the end of 2002. They called me a star in the making. I wasn't much older than Newton is now, and like him, I had all the potential in the world to be great. I was on the right track. Until you arrived in 2005, right after I won the North American title again. You had been in the world champion in some little promotion and talked about how you were going to take over the whole SWF and rule the world. You sought me out and you hooked me. You told me the sweetest lies about how you were going to teach me everything you knew. You corrupted me to your shallow, money-loving ways, the same way that you corrupted Remo. You talked about how we were a team and we all worked towards a common goal, but we were just your interference runners. You called us your "Insurance Policy", but the reality is we were lackeys. Now I see you feeding those same lies to Newton. You haven't changed, Money... But I have. This is one of Gilmore's trademark rants, and he paces the ring through his “history lesson”. Jessie just stays out of the way. Rich Money: Your version of our history is a bit revisionist, but that's okay. Is it all out of your system now? Angry Gilmore: Hardly. You took my career off track, Money. You used me like a tool and then threw me away. I could have held that world title by now. Rich Money: If you say so. I'm still waiting for the point. Angry Gilmore: The point is that I've beat both of your layers of protection now.... Rich Money: Wait just one second, Gilmore. I don't expect you to really comprehend the concept of “friend”, as you seem a bit lacking in that department. But Remo and Ace are not my protection. They are my friends. Angry Gilmore: Whatever you want to call them, Money.... I beat them. The way Jessie and I see it... Rich Money: So now Jessie's doing the thinking for you? Figures that you'd let tramp be the leader... Angry Gilmore: Watch you mouth, Money. You'll get me angry... and won't like to see me angry... Rich Money: Why only when you're angry? I don't like anytime, Gilmore. You want to know why I ditched you at the end of 2006? Do you really want to know? Its because you became a self-righteous whiner. Everything was someone else's fault and you wanted everyone to know about it. And every time you have a microphone in your hand now, you're complaining about not being respect, or about Generation Supreme getting all the advantages, or about me... So as much as you talk about the women in the ring with you there having “reformed” you... you're still just the same self-righteous whiner you were back then. Angry Gilmore: Calling me names doesn't change that I've earned a shot at that belt. Rich Money: Sure. Fine. Get in line. I'm booked up for November. Dependent on what happens in the big tag match, I might be booked up for December. I could probably pencil you in for January. How does that sound? Angry Gilmore: Stop ducking me! Rich Money: I fail to see how giving you a proper title shot on PPV is “ducking you”. Would you prefer to do it on TV, with a 20-minute time limit? There is no response from Gilmore on that. The Canadian knows that kind of title shot would be limiting. There is a momentary silence as the pair stare at each other across the arena. Angry Gilmore: Man up. Face me at Break Like the Wind. I've earned it, Money. You know it and I know it. Rich Money: Don't tell me what I know. And maybe you haven't been keeping up on current events, but I just had a match arranged for me earlier tonight. So it would be a bit difficult. And seeing as the man who arranged my match with Tornado is now at the hospital, I doubt that will be changing. Angry Gilmore: Excuses... You fear me. Rich Money: Fear you? I wouldn't fear you if you wore a hockey mask and carried a machete. You can call it whatever you want, Gilmore, but I'm being a realist. You'll get your shot at my belt, but you'll get it when times allows. In the meantime, I've arranged but some fun for you. You always complain about the respect you deserve... I'll make sure that you continue to prove that... With that, the SWF World Heavyweight champion drops the microphone and stalks off the stage through the Supreme Gate. Gilmore is left in the ring, steaming and glaring. Jessie tries to console him, but it does no good. Grade: A*
Rating: 5.09

Ugh, so close to the clean sweep. Loved the Rich Money/Gilmore segment at the end, especially the line, "Fear you? I wouldn't fear you if you wore a hockey mask and carried a machete." Complete gold. And after reading how Badd Company "found" Potter, I have one question for you. Did you recently watch The Hangover? :D

Quite a few thoughts on this one... -I hoped to have the show posted by mid-week. Stuff kept coming up - woman, family etc. Ah well... -no one is going to let me forget the amount of hype I brought Badd Kompany in with... and probably rightfully so. I've managed to hype new debuts who didn't really deserve it (BK, The Nuke) and didn't with ones who did (Golden, Tornado, Guide, Scout, and McFly). With BK, they were hyped because of a storyline I was going to run with them. They were going to come in hyped as the net great tag team in wrestling, leading to a big long battle between all the managers in the SWF trying to land them. Was probably going to end having Emma Chase as their manager. It was a fun idea, but unlikely to go over that well as they came in without the overness to really make it work. So they floated with the "seaching for a manager" deal. Now they have a manager. They also have decent overness, impressive skills, and respectable tag experience (D+). Seems like it might be time for them to make good on that hype... -I've realized I have an outstanding habit of bringing in talented new workers and having them lose on their debut. Mr. Anderson did the same. Its usually done with a reason, as it was here. That will become apparent over time. -I did think of a few options to have Hannah Potter to get involved directly in Devine's match to reveal her changed alliances. Didn't really think of having Devine just wander off partway through the match - that would have been awesome. It also would have meant giving Ash Campbell a win. On TV. Come on, folks! -I was honest a bit leery about putting Ace Newton in the main event again. Did it against McFly and it worked... but that's McFly. Newton's only real weakness, stats-wise, is his Consistency (C+). I think this match actually did get an "off his game" note, which makes me wonder what he might have managed against Gilmore if not for that... I did trust that one as the main event more than the tag match, as the Keith's are still lower midcarders, whereas Newton is an Upper Midcard... -and after the match, Ace is now a main eventer. He's B+ across the US, with a couple regions at A. He's moved up from B- very quickly, after floating at the C+ to B- range for awhile. He didn't shoot up in popularity too fast in his first bit of association with Money and Remo - moreso just high momentum. Now, that's translated to popularity too. That's good and bad. Its a bit faster than I intended, but I figured that could happen once he got in with the champ and his buddy. No change to his personality yet, which is good... -and yeah, UFC-King, its unreal that its made it this far. Great to see you back in here!

Its actually a pretty big one, as it properly establishes the Money-Gilmore feud... even though the Money-McFly feud is still in full swing. I had some fun writing that. And no, I haven't seen The Hangover yet. Keep meaning to but haven't managed it. Did I pull something right out of the flick?

The 54-year old legendary businessman was attacked in his office last night on Supreme TV. After sustaining a beating, Eisen was choke-slammed through his desk before help arrived. After being taken to a local hospital, Eisen was kept overnight for observation. He is expected to be released this morning, but will remain under close observations. While the injuries he sustained are not life-threatening, they are considered severe enough that it will take some time for Eisen to recuperate fully. A source close to the owner indicated that it could be some time before Eisen is able to resume his position at the helm of his company. The same source also indicated that Payne had "gone too far, crossed a line" with the attack. There are likely to be consequences of this attack, which could see Payne removed from the company. An interesting reality of the attack is that it will deflect attention away from the admission that Richard Eisen made just moments before Payne assaulted him. The owners finally admitted that he was behind the change of Skull DeBones to the violent smashing machine Vengeance. It is an accusation made weeks ago by Phil Vibert that Eisen has denied since. It is an admission that could have held serious consequences for the owner from the board of directors... but with the attack, he might escape any such sanctions. Ideas are something I rarely lack for. Making them work is something different - that's a bit tougher. But coming up with them is never the issue. When this diary someday comes to a sad end, whenever that is and whatever the reason, I can be pretty sure it won't be for lack of ideas of where to take the stories. Not that I think you really need any help in that regard (looking forward to the next TWL show), but you can always PM if you do you want to discuss pretty much anything. Whether its a regular reader or not, I'm always willing to help.

You are too hard on yourself Bigpapa42.
Thanks. The storyline/idea execution I'd put down to two things - planning and luck. I've mentioned the booking document I use a couple of times, and that thing is pretty to key to being able to lay things out well in advance. What I mean by luck is having things work out in a certain way, which isn't always what you expect. An easy example of that is the entire brand split - I didn't plan that from the start. But its worked out. I didn't count on Tyler retiring, and when I realized he was going to, I figured on using him as a Road Agent or trainer. The GM role was a late decision, and it worked out beautifully as he made a perfect nemesis for Vibert and served as a catalyst for a DaVE storyline from an angle I couldn't have done otherwise. I think the luck comes from having those situations play out in usable way, and then its just a matter of finding a way to take advantage.
Another A show? I wouldn't have been surprised to have Ace-Gilmore give me a B and drag the show down a fair bit. Gilmore is amazing, but he's not quite McFly. I actually had the most faith in the Scout-Anderson match but it would have been out of place as the main event, at least on this show. And I won't be happy until I'm putting on consistent A* shows on TV. Not that's it needed, just cuz its a bit of a challenge in a game that doesn't offer a ton in that regard.

Random thought of the day… What happens when the future becomes the present quicker than intended? Does it create some kind of relativity vortex that rips tears into the fabric of the known universe... or just create booking problems for me? I was starting to dread my regular meetings with Richard like I had near the start of the year. Not because I was starting to fear the man again, but simply because I never knew quite knew what I would be getting into. It might a short but intense grilling session on our short or long term booking plans. It might be a meandering discussion about one given worker than could last an hour. Or it could be a confabulation on the greater meaning of championship belts within the abstract concept of the business that lasts hours. Thankfully, my busy schedule usually precluded the last possibility, but it was still always a risk. This morning, he was actually late. That was a major rarity for the man, but he was going to some noteable lengths starting this morning. He loved the post-attack injury angle that we were going with after his beatdown from Payne last night, and he was "going kayfabe". As in, he was trying to make the whole "Richard Eisen is not running things right now" idea seem as real as possible... without actually giving over running the company. He would still be at Supreme One, though less frequently than normal and not only regular schedule. His secretary sat me down in his office, but I didn't have to wait long. He came shuffling in just a short bit after me. Dressed more casual than typical, Eisen had a limp that was not kayfabe. He dropped himself into his big high-backed leather chair with a wince. The beating he took last might have been fake, but the pain it caused the 54-year old man was not. It was far from the first time Richard has gotten physically involved in the action, but he did it less frequently as he got older. After apologizing for being late, Richard told me that Peter wouldn't be attending, which was becoming more the rule than the exception. We started by going through some of the standard numbers - the ratings breakdowns, worker popularity results, and projected PPV buys for the next several shows. This was the area that Eisen really seemed to focus on, but it was less meaningful for me. We ended up talking about the little bit of a swerve we did last night, with switching the Supreme brand main event on the Break Like the Wind pay per view. I'm try not to do too many swerves or bait-and-switches like that, but they can be effective when used in moderation. Eisen was talking a bit about trying such approaches more often - "you make the fans that this is going to happen, then boom, you give em that!" While I avoided saying no to the idea, I did make it clear to my boss that overuse of such an approach can be disrespectful to the fans, especially if you are doing outright bait-and-switches. Richard then managed to surprise me. Not by bringing up Amanda, but by saying, "So I've a few people raise concerns about Newton." I wasn't sure what to say to that. For one, any concerns between workers should be brought to me. Or at least to Peter, and Michaels would then bring them to me. Beyond that, who would have an issue with Newton? He is a great kid in the locker room, absolutely a delight to have around and always respectful. He is endlessly talented, very much getting over win the fans, and a guaranteed superstar-in-the-marking. I could see workers taking up concerns if we were pushing talentless hacks like Sinclair or Barry Bowen, but Newton? "First off, any concerns should have come through me," I said to start. "I won't ask who came to you, but if I'm going to take Peter's position at some point, then that has to be made clear." I let that hang, and Richard nodded his agreement. "So are you going to tell me what the concern is?" Richard shrugged and I knew that mean no. He told me, "Just, uh, you know, a general concern about the kid." I shook my head and explained, "The kid is the best leader we have amongst Generation Supreme. We don't have to worry about him getting caught in out-of-ring incidents, juice, drugs, anything. He can hang with anyone in the ring. He's getting plenty of TV time with the deal with Rich and Remo, but that was the plan. He's not getting big wins over name talent. We're doing things exactly as we planned with him." Richard nodded through all of this, and then replied, "That what I told them." I wondered if that was true, though I was hardly about to call my boss on it. I asked, "Was it from one of the Pillars?" A hesitation before the answer, "No." The concern about Newton was all but wiped out in my mind. If it was a real concern, it would have come from one of the Pillars. They could jump me and go directly to Richard, though it rarely happened. A concern brought forward by one of the Pillars would be taken seriously, whether it came to me or to Richard. The Six Pillars of Supreme, aka The Six Pillars of Heaven, are the six workers who are looked upon as the core of the Supreme Wrestling Federation. The six wrestlers upon whom the global status of the company rests. They are six of the biggest names, but they are also amongst the most respected, long-serving, and most trusted workers. Concerns brought forward from one of the Pillars was given a different degree of consideration by management (so long as its more than the normal booking concerns). They may not all be locker room leaders in terms of their personalities, but they are the locker room cornerstones. Its an idea that started just for management purposes but it has extended to the roster and everyone realizes that Pillars for what they are. The Six Pillars are Christian Faith, Angry Gilmore, Rich Money, Remo Richardson, Chris Morrisette, and Steve Frehley. The list is almost as interesting for who it doesn't contain as who it does. Everyone on the list has been with the SWF for most of the decade, except for Rich Money. Money is a bit of a special case, as long-term proven loyalty is key and what has kept guys like Jack Bruce, Vengeance, and Brandon James from being put on that list. That same goes for newer workers who have joined in the past year - Chris Caufield, Sean McFly, and Rocky Golden. There are a number of "backbone of the promotion" types who are really only not on the list because they are not quite positioned atop the card - the likes of Joe Sexy, Enforcer Roberts, Enygma, John McClean, and the Biggz brothers. Some guys just couldn't see beyond their own concerns, like Train. Eric Eisen probably had the respect required, but so many people would never see past the fact that he's Richard's son. Richard had come up with the idea of The Pillars in early 2007, when there were serious concerns amongst the roster about Big Smack Scott. Despite the line that Richard often spouted in public about "the SWF being the only part of pro wrestling that matters", the man is a true student of the business. He has a huge degree of respect and love for the history and lore of the business he helped revolutionize. It would take a very knowledgeable fan to recognize the allusion from the name. Or at least a fan pretty knowledgeable in Japanese wrestling history. The name was a reference to a famous quote from Master Kotizon. Around 1985, he made reference to the "Four Pillars to Heaven that held up Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Gods". He was referring to Elemental, Optimus, Yoshinaka Toshusai, and Motoichi Arakida. Often altered to "The Four Burning Pillars", it became a name used by the fans. It is rumored that Haruki Kudo never forgave Kotizon for being left off the initial list, though many would have included him even at the time, and certainly later. The idea was used again around 1997 when Pride Glory Honor Wrestling was beginning to chase Burning Hammer. They promoted "The Six Glorious Pillars of Heaven". They were Eisaku Hoshino, Mito Miwa, Nobuatsu Tatsuko, Shuji Inukai, Yoshimi Mushashibo, and Eisaku Kunomasu. I believe they even used the term on some event posters. By 1998, Kunomasu had reduced the group to five, but those five are now six again and they have provided the foundation for PGHW's rise above Burning Hammer. Almost a year ago, Richard had recognized the mind I possessed and asked me for help with a problem he had. The problem revolved around the Six Pillars, and the fact that three of the Six Pillars are over the age of 30. Well over, when looking at Christian Faith. Eisen's concern was what he termed "generational turnover", basically making sure that the SWF had a new generation of stars ready to take over when this generation got old. Although both Frehley and Remo are just in their mid 20s, and Gilmore had just turned 30, three of the six could be done within a few years. Eisen obviously hoped that wouldn't happen with any of the Pillars, but you couldn't build a promotion's future around hope. At least, you couldn't when that promotion is the Supreme Wrestling Federation. Generation Supreme was my solution. Sure, the SWF had some promising young talent even a year ago, some of them certain to be stars. The likes of both Zimmy and Randy Bumfhole, Marc DuBois, Valiant, and Robbie Retro made for a bright future. But they wouldn't be enough to build the promotion around. The idea was to bring in a host of new young talent and overtly promote them as the future. When we laid out the plans for the entire Generation Supreme approach, we identified six "New Pillars". They were Marc DuBois, Randy Bumfhole, Sean Deeley, Antonio Marquez, Swoop McCarthy, and Davis Wayne Newton. It was unlikely that all six would get to the point where they could become main Pillars - some of them would leave, fail to develop into stars, fail to get over with the fans, turn into backstage problems, or lose the fight to some personal demons. We have to realize that reality, but if even a couple of them follow the path we hope, then we will have Pillars in place to join the likes of Frehley and Remo. My guess is that the concern over Newton had been brought to Eisen by someone like Enygma or Runaway Train. I couldn't see him giving any thought to a complaint for someone in the lower reaches of the card. I doubted that someone like Phil Roberts or Eric Eisen would have made a complain outside of the proper channels. "So is the complain really worth discussing, then?" I asked. Richard shook his head. "Probably not," he admitted. "Just another thing you might want to pay attention to. Like you don't have enough things to deal with right now." "Yeah, well, comes with the territory." "Why do you think Peter wants to give it up? Having the book is little glory and endless complaints to deal with. You better be d*mned sure you want all that comes with it before we finally switch it over to you," Richard told me. I just nodded. So had the Newton thing just been a test, then? "So about tonight," Eisen commented, flipping the topics sudenly. "Do you think he'll get a reaction from the crowd?" "Absolutely." "Good. This should be fun." We spent a little bit of time discussing the show tonight, and then it was time for me to go. I had a flight to catch. The discussion with Richard did bring up an interesting point - Newton was getting over with the fans a bit faster we intended. That wasn't too big of a problem in a basic sense, though it did mean we wouldn't be jobbing him to El Leon or Jacob Jett anytime soon. He would be taking his losses mostly only from top guys, and I just hoped that it wouldn't give Newton an attitude. Having him around almost made up for having to deal with jerk-bags like Jay Chord and Barry Bowen. Almost. Wednesday, Week 4, October 2008 Avatar

News, rumors, and interviews, all brought to you by the incomparable Duane Fry. Preview for podcast available Wednesday, Week 4, October 2008 "Despite the concerns through the Supreme Wrestling Federation universe regarding the health of SWF owner Richard Eisen after Supreme TV last night, tonight's SWF Legends will go forward as scheduled. From everyone on the Supreme brand, our thoughts and prayers go out to the Eisen family." "Although he has been excused from action this week by General Manager Eric Tyler, "Double E" Eric Eisen will still appear tonight as scheduled. Give the young man credit - he is dedicated to the SWF." "The big question for SWF Legends tonight is who will be Troy Tornado's replacement? Before leaving for the Supreme brand last week, Tornado apparently made arrangements for a replacement, someone who can be trusted by Christian Faith and Chris Caufield. Whoever this newcomer is, he will get a trial by fire, as GM Tyler has booked the trio into a match against his Watchmen trio. Whether this new addition can be trusted and relied upon will be apparent very quickly." "Pistol Pete Hall faces a big challenge as he takes on former SWF World Heavyweight champion Enygma. I'm told that Enygma feels a bit ignored of late, and he will have his hands full when he steps into the ring against the big cowboy. A win for Enygma would be good, and a step back towards the top for the masked enigma." "Tonight promises to be another great show. Offering up some of the best wrestling action in the world, SWF Legends can't be missed... only on CBA!" We have a big six man main event tonight, and we should learn who the new addition to the Legends brand is. I'm here with Melanie Florence and Phil Vibert. Melanie Florence: But Phil is down there in the ring.
Phil Vibert In-Ring Segment The show start with Phil Vibert in the ring by himself. He gets a big reception. The extremely popular color commentator and “creative consultant” says that he is out here tonight for a few reasons. First and foremost, he's here to show Eric Tyler and his thugs that he is not afraid. That he does not fear them. That they can't silence him. Speaking his mind is the only thing that Phil Vibert can do, because its the only way he knows. Second, what Phil Vibert is not out here to do tonight is to talk about The Genius Mr. Eisen. He's not out here to point out that he was absolutely correct about the owner's role in the whole Vengeance situation. Because it would be wrong of someone to even insinuate that the situation that happened last night on Supreme TV might just have been the payback that The Genius Mr. Eisen deserved or that he created his own personal hell... So very wrong... This gets a cheer that Vibert allows to die down before he continues. He then says that the primary reason he's out in front of these fans tonight is because he feels its time for a history lesson. Because once upon a time, Phil Vibert ran this little promotion that a few fans really dug. A bunch of crazy, hardcore fans who put all their passion behind supporting a bunch of crazy, hardcore wrestlers. One of the things that those fans loved was the constant backstage chaos that promotion became notorious for. Phil says that he loved that little promotion so dearly, but now that its gone, it was a bit like your first love – you love without constraint and the pain of losing it is unbearable, but you eventually move on and you grow a bit as a person. When he came to accept that life goes on after that first love ends, he accepted the offer from the SWF Board of Directors to help revamp the biggest wrestling promotion in the world. He was hired to bring back his little promotion, he never wanted to bring it back, and its not a good idea to even consider it. That little promotion had its time and place, and that ended. What Phil Vibert is here to do is bring back traditional wrestling to the mainstream. Which is why he brought in talent like Sean McFly, Pete Hall, Troy Tornado, The New Wave, Chris Caufield, and yes, even Eric Tyler. Its why he pushed to create the Legends brand, which has become notably different from the Supreme brand. Unfortunately, standing in the way of Vibert and his vision of the Legends brand is a man who can't see past that dead promotion, who is fixated on it like a creep stalker ex-boyfriend. But Eric Tyler and his delusions of what Vibert is trying to do won't deter him. This brand will become what Vibert has envisioned. And the alliance between Christian Faith, Chris Caufield, and this newcomer is to help ensure that happens. To make certain that the chaotic, lawless vision of Eric Tyler and The Golden Faction does not come to fruition. Vibert stops and takes a breath after he finishes one on his trademark rants. He smiles, and adds that DaVE is dead, man. Grade: B+
Melanie Florence: Phil can really get going when they let him!
Pistol Pete Hall vs Enygma A very good opening match that goes back and forth. Enygma looks good against the big cowboy, displaying the tenacious and quick style that once won him the top prize in the SWF. Hall is never one to back done, however. He lays into his masked opponent when he gets his hands on him, so Enygma takes the approach of avoiding the big hoss. Grandmaster Bling is at ringside, providing Enygma with constant advice. Its not enough as Hall takes control of the match. Enygma gets a breather after some interference and distraction from the Grandmaster, but its not enough, as Hall beings to overpower again and takes control. After a Pistol Whip Lariat, Bling gets up on the ring apron to holler at Hall while the ref isn't looking, but the veteran Hall smartly hauls the maanager in. When referee Ric Young sees Bling in the ring and going after Hall, he calls the match. Hall doesn't' look pleased to have won in such a manner. Pistol Pete Hall Wins at 10:44 via Disqualification Grade: B

John Pathlow vs Ota A surprisingly solid match as the Japanese-styled wrestler takes on the Japanese wrestler. The pair show off the super junior approach to the SWF fans, who quite enjoy the stiff strikes and quick pace. There is plenty of activity outside the ring as well, with Pathlow's manager Raven and Ota's manager Mr. Miwa both playing a role in the match. Pathlow gets the better of much of the action, and looks set to score his first SWF win. He hits his Hell Monkey Clothesline and goes for a Hell Fire Kick, but Miwa trips him up. That gives Ota a chance to catch Pathlow with his Ninja Strike running Enzuigiri kick and get a quick roll up pinfall, helped by grabbing some tights. Ota Wins at 9:31 via Pinfall Grade: C+
Duane Fry: Guess someone forgot to explain to Ota about the “honorable” part of Japanese wrestling... Brandon is seated on a small sofa, playing on a Sony PSP. Emma is on a phone call, stomping around in the background while engaged in some important conversation. Her voice is serious but hushed, so most of what she is saying can't be heard. The conversation doesn't seem to be going as well, as she grows more animated before emphatically hanging up the phone. She lashes out, knocking a gym bag off the bench. It spills all over the floor. Something rolls across the floor and comes to a stop by Brandon's feet... A tube of yellow face paint. Brandon looks at it, then at Emma, who is staring at the face paint. The big man quickly gives the game he is playing all his attention, ignoring his manage entirely, like a child hoping to escape notice. Emma Chase: Brandon? What is this? Her client simply ignores her, focusing all of his attention on the PSP. With the stern look of a mother, Emma grabs Brandon by the ear and pulls him out off the sofa. She pushes the PSP down and holds the tube of ace paint under his face. Emma Chase: I know why you have this, Brandon, and I am not impressed. How many times do we have to go over this. You are “Big Money” now. That's it. The manager and client stare each other down for a long moment. Brandon James: Big Cat. Emma Chase: No, Big Money. Brandon James: Big Cat. Emma Chase: You are not that anymore! Brandon James: Big Cat. Emma Chase: D*mnit, Brandon. You need to get over what you were in the past. Its a brave new world here in the SWF and you are only going to get ahead as “Big Money”. Do you understand me? With Emma still holding Brandon by the ear, he slowly nods. He sits back down and she makes a show of throwing the face paint in the garbage and then stalking out out of the locker room. Going back to his game. Under his breath, he gets in the last word... Brandon James: Big Cat. They experienced duo isolate Elmo Benson and spent awhile working him over, but the hot tag to Groucho Bling doesn't give High Concept the advantage for long. Even with their quick tag work and rapid movement, the small duo find themselves on their heels against the offensive skills of Sara Silver's duo. Mr. Anderson gets the pinfall after an Ammo Dump face-buster. The Silverback's come out of this match looking very good. Shady K and Knuckles slow the 340-pounder down with some double teams, cutting off the ring effectively. When Diaz finally does tag The Dark Destroyer in, he actually thrills the crowd by battering away at the Death Row duo in his prototypical style, but he slows up and starts to take it easy. Diaz is able to finish off the match, pinning Knuckles after a big Ray Gun piledriver. The big man looks annoyed at Frehley afterwards but says nothing. Biggz makes it clear that he's tired of being overlooked after all he's accomplished in the Supreme Wrestling Federation. He is determined to take the SWF Shooting Star championship away from Acid, who doesn't deserve to hold a belt like that. Biggz is going to be the one to take it away. The ring-side presence of the lovely Katie Cameron doesn't do much to help the high-flying duo. Train dominates much of the match, with Double E throwing in some solid cheap shots. Train gets the pinfall after ragdolling Jett around a bit and hitting with a big Train Wreck spinning elevated power bomb. They reach the open locker room door of The Golden Faction. Reed stops to knock, but Nevada simply bursts in. Golden is in ring gear but everyone else is dressed casually. Nevada charges right up to Kristen Pearce and demands an apology. Pearce and the rest of the Faction laugh. Dani is deadly seriously as she says that she is offering Pearce and the rest of the Faction one last chance. If they choose to spurn it, there will be consequences. Golden laughs heartily, demanding to know what possible consequences there could be. Are Dani and Reed going to take on all members of the Faction themselves? Not such a good idea. Refusing to back down, Nevada responds that she isn't willing to divulge where the repercussions will come from, but they will come. Pearce says that she's heard enough, and goes to slap Dani again. This time, Dani is quicker, as she grabs the hand and shoves Pearce down. Not content at that, Dani dives at Pearce and begins to throw punches. Before the situation can escalate further, Golden grabs Dani off his manager. Rex has blocked off Reed, so he can't get involved further. Golden shoves Dani towards Reed and the door, saying they best get the hell out before things get ugly. Reed escorts Dani out as she's still hollering about consequences... Grade: B+

El Leon vs Rocky Golden This match is an interesting one, as its all about El Leon looking good. Golden seems to take things casually early, allowing the high-flying luchadore to show off his impressive skills. The first few minutes are all smiles for The Golden Boy, but he seems to get worried when the Mexican star manages to get him off his feet. Golden starts to take things seriously, and he uses his size and power to take over the match. El Leon wins himself fans by continuing to battle against the big man. He fights his way out of The Rack twice, and even nails Golden win his Split Second Justice quick super kick, but a distraction from Pearce keeps the ref from counting the pin attempt. The third time Golden gets Leon up in the The Rack, the lightweight can't get free and has to submit. Its a victory even in defeat for Leon. Tyler is clearly thinking something over as Double E waits. The GM says that he just isn't sure about this, especially the way things have been going recently for Eric. The response from Eric is that he needs one more chance to prove himself. After another moment, Tyler says he can probably arrange something for one of the next couple of weeks. That isn't good enough for Eric, as he says that he wants the match at the Break Like the Wind pay per view. When Tyler hesitates, Eric says that he knows that there isn't anything arranged yet for the pay per view. This is a match that will sell. Fans will want to see him be the one to take down Christian Faith and take the SWF Supreme Championship that Faith doesn't deserve. Eisen wants one more shot, one more chance for the glory that has eluded him thus far through his career. The kind of glory that the likes of Christian Faith and Jack Bruce have had but never deserved. With a final shrug, Tyler agrees, saying that he'll make it happen. Grade: A
Peter Michaels: It looks like we another match for the pay per view! The match starts as a handicap match, with the three Watchmen against the two veterans. Faith and Caufield make out fine in the early going, with the match being fairly even despite their handicap. When the Watchmen start to use double and then triple teams, and they take control. Caufield and Faith battle valiantly, but its gradually clear that the numbers difference is going to be tough for them to overcome. A dozen minutes into the match, they are in serious trouble... when the crowd pops huge. Chris Morrisette emerges through the Supreme Gate. The match stops and all five participants watch as the former Lobster Warrior makes his way down the ring, and he takes up his position in the corner with Faith. Caufield is the legal man, and Morgan and Holmes manage to keep him isolated for awhile. The match builds towards the hot tag, and Morrisette cleans house when he finally gets into the match. The crowd loves it. But an Acid Rain Bomb from Acid interrupts a pin attempt from Morrisette and allows the Watchmen to take control back. Its Faith getting involved that turns the tide back, as the big champion battles against Holmes as he has battled through his entire career. Morrisette hits a Lobster Trap suplex on Acid to get the pinfall, with Faith and Caufield keeping Holmes and Morgan from interrupting the count. They are joined by General Manager Eric Tyler. After the victorious trio celebrate for a few moments, Morrisette calls for a microphone. When the crowd quiets down, Morrisette says that there a couple of reasons for him moving brands. He was no longer happy on the Supreme brand, between the Generation Supreme kids running wild and Money and his cronies doing whatever they want, he just didn't feel there was a place there any more for him. But more than that, he feels that what Christian Faith and Chris Caufield are trying to do on this brand is important. Allowing the likes of Tyler and Rocky Golden to simply run rampant would ruin the Legends brand as much as the Supreme brand has been devalued. It was Faith and Phil Viber that made him realize how important this new alliance is. Morrisette then stops and points directly at Eric Tyler, saying that Tyler will not be allowed to destroy what Vibert and the alliance are trying to build. Morrisete is here to help make sure of that! Fuming, Eric Tyler glares back across the arena. How did I miss prediction this show?
I just noticed something - none of your matches are in the B+ area, but your whole show is B+ anyway. It makes me wonder what would have happened if your main event was higher than B. :p
Oh the magic of angles in a sport entertainment promotion.
I just noticed something - none of your matches are in the B+ area, but your whole show is B+ anyway. It makes me wonder what would have happened if your main event was higher than B. :p
I think that's happened before. Or similar. It was a bit of a strange show in terms of grades. A couple of the matches in the middle of the show graded out higher than I expected, particularly Ota vs Pathlow. Even the Biggz segment did a bit better than I figured. Golden-Leon, which was actually supposed to be early in the card, also graded better than expected. But the middle section was flat. No peaks and valleys. As for the main event... I've tried 3v3 main events a couple times now, and they don't seem to go over that well. Even with most main eventers involved, they just seem kinda meh, especially when I know that any number of combination's of those workers involved in that 6-man could have netted B+ or A quite easily. A better main event and slightly better match in the midcard and that would have been an A show, possibly an A*. But if that final angle only graded A, or even B+, it would've been a B overall likely.

Loved the Chase/Brandon segment. And how is it even your weaker shows turn out gold? I was a little disappointed with Pathlow/Ota, considering that Ota should be a good match for Moneky... but I guess he's more Cruiser than Puro, right? If Holmes, Morgan and the Silverbacks ever faced off, would the Internet melt from the oversmarkiness of it all? And I loved Mel's little aside after Vibert's rant. Nice touch.

The main event was a fantastic four-way tag match that would have been at home on either one of the "A" shows. Don't let the "B show" designation fool you here, folks - Generation Supreme consistently features great wrestling action. Word reaches me that more than one person is in need of a massage and some time listening to pan pipe music. Notice anyone who seemed to be off the pace during this week's shows? * Phunk all the haters: Grandmaster Bling has been a revelation on colour. * Tornado. Money. Ladder. You know I'm there - and the separation of Newton from his notional running buddies continues. Newton was always going to be the star of that group. Good genetics can only get you so far. * Sin Inc beat an up-and-coming tag team via Heel Tag Team 101. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather they were lowering the average age and raising the average IQ in PSW. But there was nothing wrong with this match. * A segment with the Neptunes is followed by a segment with Hannah Potter. I approve. I've always felt that Deeley and Thompson are gold, and they've come along in terms of charisma since their debut. They may have been treading water following all that hype, but a feud with fellow up-and-comer Darryl Devine has promise. (Yes, I'm ignoring the Ash Campbell match. And?) * Big Cat! * Mr. Anderson loses in his debut. So did Mr. Hill. So does... everyone, lately. I'm not a fan of the monster push, but occasionly you have to have someone hit the ground running - or else, what's the point of hyping a debut? You can make a point for Anderson coming out on top regardless of the result, but... * I seem to have missed a segment here - Payne beat up Eisen why, now? Still, it adds some depth to the character, I guess. Maybe I just need to go back and check some of the previous stuff he's been in. Also, why was the revelation played out backstage? I know that Eisen has an office, but surely that would have played better before the live crowd? Maybe Eisen's getting too old to take the big bumps? * Gimlore and Newton had a great match, and then Money and Gilmore had a phenomenal segment. I hear that backstage Money is the man right now - he has Eisen's ear, Avatar's ear... Couldn't happen to a bigger talent, if you ask me. * On to Legends, and for all those wondering how Hell Monkey would do on American television, well, Ota's about as good a person as any for him to debut against. The jury's still out, but there's promise there. * Big Cat! * So, we have Dani Nevada throwing punches now? You, me and everyone else has heard the rumours about a Women's division in Supreme, but if Nevada/Pearce is going to be the way of getting fans interested, I wouldn't expect Hatoyama/Fish any time soon. * El Leon? Is Golden that good (maybe) or has the kid been holding back? Whatever - that was a starmaker performance. * Six-man matches should be reserved for very rare occasions - as, in fact, they largely have been lately. This was a decent example, as these things go. Morrissette, with hindsight, was the obvious trade for Tornado. Good segment at the end, too - it's been a while since Morrissette has brought it on the mic like that. It's a welcome development. * BIG CAT! * It's been a quiet week, news wise. Something I'd heard, but decided not to post until I saw th Payne/Eisen segment is this: Vengeance/Skull DeBones could be done with Supreme. Think about that. Would they really be building a storyline around a worker who's been canned? And yet... This may be nonsense, which is why I was hesitant to post it. It may be pure kayfabe - but he's not been backstage, he's not on the road, he's not working in development... Remember that Eddie Peak storyline in DaVE where Eddie went missing? it never got paid off because the network cancelled DaVE's TV show shortly after. With Phil Vibert heavily involved in the booking of this storyline, we may be about to find out where that was going... if Supreme haven't really canned DeBones. Why would they have done that? Well... That one I have to leave open to speculation. The story I've heard couldn't possibly be true. No-one could be that stupid... But the possibility is that Vengeance has been written out of what could have been the biggest storyline of his career, earned him a stack of cash and maybe even have put him at the top of the pyramid. Can it be done without him? It seems that the SWF may be trying to find out. Folks, that's what I've got. Be sure to come back next week, or keep an eye on the Grey Dog Wrestling forums. Those in the know can find my posts for the latest news on the land of Supreme. In the meantime, thanks for joining me and sharing the view from here! A.N.
