Saturday, Week 4, April 1997
From: heatly@nycw.com To: stomper@nycw.com Subject: Invasion Show #1 Stomper, here's the internet report from our first "Invasion" show. As you know it didn't draw a lot of people, but it sure did get us noticed in the area (you've got to love those internet writers): NYCW Invasion 1 Friday, Week 4, April 1997 16 people at Stanley Hall Wiley Coyote come to the ring and challenge The Empire to a match. - E- Team Headband defeated Thomas Morgan and Hollywood Hank in 4:47 when Jungle Jack defeated Hollywood Hank by pinfall with a Jungle Jack-Jammer. - D- Morpheus attacks Michael Cook backstage, then stomps on his body before leaving. - E- NYCW United States: Tom Gilmore defeated Edwin D. Bashford in 7:05 by pinfall with an Anger Management. Tom Gilmore makes defense number 1 of his NYCW United States title. - D Carl Batch with Ernest Mason cuts a promo hyping up his upcoming match with Corporal Doom. - D Freddie Datsun and Corporal Doom defeated Big Cat Brandon and The Stomper in 10:50 when Corporal Doom defeated The Stomper by pinfall with a Corporal Punishment. - D+ Brent Hill cuts a promo hyping up his upcoming match with Monty Walker. - D+ Brent Hill defeated Monty Walker in 16:44 by pinfall with a King Of The Hill. - C Overall: C-

From: stomper@nycw.com To: heatly@nycw.com Subject: Re: Invasion Show #1 No I don't have to love those internet hacks. My match should have been rated higher!

Monthly Review (April 1997) - Once again we are 1st in Regional Battle, but strangely enough we are only getting credit for the Tri-State and Mid Atlantic. Hmm... - We also made $13,118 this month even while running the "Invasion" show. Man I love traditional/mainstream promotions. The game just gives you money. ;) - Big Battle Wrestling opens in Japan and instantly jumps me in importance. Overall the new company is 9th overall in the promotion wars. - Monty Walker lost to Redwood on PPV killing his overall overness. Damn you HGC! - AMW go out of business. I hear if you look closely you might be able find someone that gives to craps about the company going down. - The Samoan Warrior leaves RPW for nowhere? Maybe RPW is dying. A man can dream can't he? - Every month that passes by, the more and more I want to cheat and free up Steve Flash and/or Fumihiro Ota's commitments.

NYCW Newswire - After seeing Brent Hill getting pinned by Shawn Gonzalez at Money Talks, Carl batch has demanded a singles match with The Lone Wolf for Hill. Gonzalez says he's never stepped down from a challenge, so why stop now. With both men agreeing to the match, James Heatly has decided that this contest will be the main event of our next show, aptly named Hill vs. Gonzalez II. - Sheik Mustafa has accepted the challenge laid down from the new United States champion, Tom Gilmore. The two will face off at Redemption on Saturday, Week 3, May 1997 and both men will be in action at Hill vs. Gonzalez II this upcoming Friday. - Also at Hill vs. Gonzalez II will be a trios match featuring World Champion Corporal Doom and Wiley Coyote taking on #1 Contender Ernest Mason and the NYCW Tag Team champions, The Empire.
Quick Picks Brent Hill vs. Shawn Gonzalez Land Mass vs. Tom Gilmore Corporal Doom & Wiley Coyote vs. Ernest Mason & The Empire Clark Alexander vs. Sheik Mustafa

Brent Hill vs. Shawn Gonzalez Could go either way but I give the edge to Hill Land Mass vs. Tom Gilmore One is an oversized untalented lump, the other is one of the most talented wrestlers in the Cornellverse Corporal Doom & Wiley Coyote vs. Ernest Mason & The Empire Another match that could go either way, but I'll swing for the heels in this one. Clark Alexander vs. Sheik Mustafa At least one of the Sheik's army has to win, to keep them looking strong and Sheik's the more likely candidate than Land Mass.

You know it takes a lot to truly piss us off. Cheating in the ring and taking our titles is one thing. That we can deal with. But not giving us the respect we deserve and ducking our rematch clause is another. Since taking the high road doesn't seem to work for you we decided to go with a more direct route. I didn't think it was going to be that simple. Doom, I can't believe it is possible, but you are dumber that you look. Did you really think that Ernest Mason is stupid enough to believe you? NYCW Hill vs. Gonzalez II Friday, Week 2, May 1997 SOLD OUT at The Ministry *slam* Jack Bruce: What the hell is the meaning of this!? James Heatly: The meaning of what? Rich Money: You know exactly what we are taking about. Money slams down a colorful flyer onto Heatly's desk. Rich Money: Why are we scheduled to defend our titles at Redemption against Wiley Coyote. We never accepted the match. If you don't fix this... James Heatly: You'll what? Use mommy's money to sue us? I'd like to see you try. You two know as well as anyone that there was a rematch clause in their contracts. You know the same clause that every single champion in this company gets? Jack Bruce grabs Heatly's shirt and brings him to his face. Jack Bruce: Now you listen here... James Heatly: No you listen. I know I'm not as psychically intimidating as The Stomper, but that still doesn't mean I can't fired your asses right here on the spot. I don't need to get approval from anyone. Remember that before you come barging into my office. Now get out before I have to think of a way to crowd a new set of tag team champions. Jack reluctantly lets go out of the commissioner and the duo storms out of Heatly's office. Rating: D --- vs. Corporal Doom & Wiley Coyote vs. Ernest Mason & The Empire Ok, I admit this match was a bit of lazy booking on my part, but does anyone ever really complain about having the champions and challengers team up for a multi-man match as a "go home" match? While it didn't blow anyone's minds, the match was a great opener with all members getting in offense to build their matches for next week. Result: Corporal Doom and Wiley Coyote defeated Ernest Mason and The Empire in 10:44 when Corporal Doom defeated Rich Money by pinfall with a Corporal Punishment. Rating: D+ --- The Stomper is sitting alone in the locker room, Big Cat Brandon no where to be seen. The Stomper: Chris Storm, so you chose a cage match. Are you serious? Out of all the matches you could pick and you chose a cage match. And here I thought you were smart. I thought you were smart enough to be the future of this business. Why do you think they call you New York's Number One? Did you think those sheeple in the stands could come up with something like that on their own? No, it's because I paid someone to chant it for three straight shows. Chris when you were brought in I was going to give you the world. But you just couldn't wait could you. No you had to go behind my back and make that match with Doom at the Big Apple Battle. Do you know how much money and effort it takes to remake those flyers, the local commercials, and cancel the wrestler that was suppose to face against Doom? Of course you don't. All you care about it your precious spot on the roster. Chris do you realize why I didn't think you were ready for the main event yet? It wasn't because you didn't have talent. You have it in spades. The reason you aren't ready is the same reason you aren't going to defeat me next week inside that steel cage. You don't have the brains. If you had any you would have made it a submission match or one of those new-fangled ladder matches. Instead you put yourself in a match I've wrestled countless times. A match where your youth and athleticism won't be able to overcome my experience and ruthlessness inside those four sides of steel. Rating: D --- vs. Clark Alexander vs. Sheik Mustafa As his NYCW career has progressed Clark Alexander has been getting more and more offense with each match. Tonight was no different, as the Ice Man was able for the first time to get the advantage at the beginning of the match. It didn't last long though. After gaining the advantage, The Sheik never looked back and beat the young man with a Mustafa Victory. Result: Sheik Mustafa defeated Clark Alexander in 8:48 by pinfall with a Mustafa Victory. Rating: D+ --- Morpheus attacks Clark Alexander backstage, then stomps on his body before leaving with an almost possessed looking Karen Killer. Rating: E --- Standing in front of the NYCW "official" promo set (also known as the place wherever we decide to put our NYCW banner in the back) is Shawn Gonzalez. Shawn Gonzalez: It's funny how things work out in life. Three months ago, when that punk Carl Batch interfered in our match at the Big Apple Battle, I could have gone the road so many wrestlers have gone before, whining about how I was cheated and how I deserve a rematch. But that isn't The Lone Wolf's style. I am a man that let's his body of work do the talking. I am man of independence. I am a man of honor. And tonight, I am going to show the world that The Lone Wolf is the real leader of the pack. Rating: D+ --- vs. Land Mass vs. Tom Gilmore I learned two things tonight from this match. First, putting a Keffiyeh on Land Mass, while giving him some much needed heat and a direction, won't improve his cardio. And second, Tom Gilmore is destined for greatness. Sure it's well known that Tom is one of the most talented young workers in the business today, but the man carried Land Mass to a solid 11 minute match before knocking out Land Mass by kicking him over the top rope. Now that's something! Result: Tom Gilmore defeated Land Mass in 10:49 by count out. Rating: D --- Backstage we see Brent Hill alone in the NYCW promo area. Brent Hill: All this past week people have been saying that you are on my level. Guess what Shawn? You're not! You got lucky last week. Tonight, this match isn't about some grudge that you and Batch may or may not have. In fact, I've told Batch to stay in the back tonight. I don't want to give you any excuse at all. Tonight this match isn't about a title, it isn't about the winner's purse. Tonight, this match is all about pride. Tonight, I show you why I am The Complete Package and why I AM the next NYCW World Heavyweight Champion. Rating: C- --- vs. Brent Hill vs. Shawn Gonzalez Marv Earnest: Now it's time for our MAIN EVENT! Can you remember, remember my name As I flow through your life A thousand oceans I have flown And cold spirits of ice All my life I am the echo of your past I am returning the echo of a point in time Distant faces shine A thousand warriors I have known And laughing as the spirits appear All your life Shadows of another day After seeing Brent Hill enter with the energetic Batch at his side for the past four months, it was a bit odd to see him come out by himself. With "Perfect Strangers" by Deep Purple blaring, the ever confident Hill made his way to the ring. Usually he would take the time to interact with the crowd, but not tonight. Tonight, he was all business. Solo, I'm a soloist on a solo list Al live, never on a floppy disk Inka, inka, bottle of ink Paintings of rebellion Drawn up by the thoughts I think Yeah! Come on! The militant poet in once again, check it Its set up like a deck of cards They're sending us to early graves For all the diamonds They'll use a pair of clubs to beat the spades With poetry I paint the pictures that hit More like the murals that fit Don't turn away Get in front of it Entering to "Freedom" by Rage Against The Machine, Shawn Gonzalez made his way to the ring as cool and as calm as ever. Marv Earnest: In the corner to my left, hailing from Albany, New York. He is the self proclaimed Complete Package, Brent Hill! Crowd: You tapped out! You tapped out! Marv Earnest: And his opponent in the corner to my right, hailing from El Paso, Texas. He is the The Lone Wolf and the man who made Brent Hill tap out one week ago at Money Talks. He is Shawn Gonzalez! Crowd: Howooooo! After the bells rings, Shawn Gonzalez and Brent Hill began the match with a long series of chain wrestling in which neither man could get the advantage for a prolonged period of time. It wasn't until Brent Hill had to resort using an illegal eye rake that the match turned in one man's favor. The interesting thing about that was that it seemed like Hill was more upset with himself for using the eye rake than Gonzalez was. After the eye rake, Hill took control and it looked like he'd never look back. The Complete Package put on a clinic, hitting move after move on The Lone Wolf. But no matter what Brent dished out, Shawn just wouldn't give up. In the end… Marv Earnest: And Brent Hill has got Shawn Gonzalez in Shawn's own finisher, the Boston Crab. Floyd Goldworthy: It's all over now. There's no way Shawn can get to the ropes after the damage he's taken tonight. Marv Earnest: You might be right, Floyd…wait a minute. Shawn's making his way to the ropes. Can he do, can he get to the ropes!? *ding* *ding* *ding* Marv Earnest: What's going on? Why is the bell ringing? Floyd Goldworthy: What do you mean, what's going on? Do you need glasses or something? Hill won! Dewey Libertine makes his way over to the announcer's table talking to Marv Earnest. The two converse for a few seconds before Marv Earnest picks up the mic. Marv Earnest: Ladies and gentlemen, I've been informed by the referee that this match has gone to the 30 minute time limit. As a result, this match has ended in a draw! Result: Brent Hill drew with Shawn Gonzalez in 30:00 when the time limit expired. Rating: C+ --- Overall: C

I am proud to be the United States champion, however I would have loved to have been able to beat Barry Kingman in a less controversial contest. Truth be told, I respect Barry Kingman in a way. He's not as respectful as his father, but if you noticed the man never once attack a single wrestler before or after a wrestling match. Sure, during the match he'd do anything to win, but outside of it, he was a true gentleman. And that's more than I can say about some people in this business. In my BBW game NYCW is getting the best of everyone else in the States. Their events are filled with C to C+ grade matches. I just can't wait for them to get a tv-deal and see what happens.
