Gary Hart: Ric Flair Will Regret Making Me Look Like A Fool!!!

http://i1.iofferphoto.com/img/item/379/646/66/15d7_1.jpg

For the past month at various MACW events Gary Hart, the founder of The J-Tex Corporation, has promised fans that the pinnacle of greatness would soon join J-Tex. No one knew who he was talking about. Was it going to be Ricky Steamboat?? Dusty Rhodes?? Roddy Piper??

The J-Tex Corporation, which includes Hart, Terry Funk, The Great Kabuki, and Magic Dragon had their sights set bigger. They wanted NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair. But would Flair, who has had a cancerous relationship with MACW fans since he began feuding with Dusty Rhodes, accept Gary Hart's offer??

It all came to a head at a MACW taping, during a match between Flair and Rhodes for the NWA Heavyweight Championship. With referee Tommy Young knocked out due to an inadvertant elbow by Rhodes, it looked like Rhodes would become the new champ. Flair was knocked out as well, and Dusty was trying to revive Young. That's when The J-Tex Corporation hit the ring, and Terry Funk cold ****ed Dusty with a branding iron. With the fans erupting into a chorus off boos, assuming that Flair had signed up with Hart, The Great Kabuki rolled Flair over a liefless Dusty, and got the three count.

Groggy and confused, Flair took the belt, and asked Hart what had just happened. Hart smiled coyly, and offered Flair a contract with J-Tex. With the other members of J-Tex looking on in encourgament, Flair looked over the contract and spit all over it and threw it back in Gary Hart's face. Furious, the J-Tex Corporation attacked Flair, who was eventually saved by an old foe, Dusty Rhodes.

The next week, as Flair was doing an interview, Gary Hart came out and threatened revenge on Flair for making a fool out of him. Flair went to approach Hart, but was cut off by Jos Leduc who preceded to bloody the champion, as Hart and the rest of The J-Tex Corporation looked on. Hart then announced that Jos Leduc is the newest member of his ever growing corporation.

We here at DOTT: The Magazine have recieved an exclusive letter from Gary Hart for us to publish.

Dearest Richard Flair,

Mr. Flair, you have made the biggest mistake of your life. I offered you a chance to join the GREATEST collection of wrestlers today, when I offered you a spot in my J-Tex Corporation. I could have offered you security, something a World Champion needs, I could have offered you so much money that your grandkids grandkids would be set for life. But, when you threw that contract back in my face, you declared war on The J-Tex Corporation. Flair, all is fair in love and war. You are only one man, we are an elite group. So, Ric, while you are struggling to survive the big bad lumberjack Jos Leduc, is your family going to be safe?? Terry Funk might just make a special trip to your wife, and your two beautiful kids back in North Carolina.

And, when you come looking for Terry, I will send my Kabuki after your family. You know, you call your self Space Mountain, but after all of this is said and done, They will be calling your wife Space Mountain, because everyone in J-Tex will have gotten a ride!!!

Fondly,

"Playboy" Gary Hart

WWF Signs Top Young Talent

WWF Chairman Vincent K. McMahon is not a traditionalist. The young son, of WWWF founder Vincent J. McMahon, is bucking tradition by jumping over established territory lines. "Listen, this is a buisness and I am a buisness man. If that means I have get the best talent I can by stealing other companies talent, then you know what? I am going to do it. This is the 80's, not the 70's. I want to expand my company to be the standard bearer in this industry, so I plan on running shows in the South, and out on the West, and in Middle America.

In the "old days" promoters would stick to standard territorial lines. So, WWF (which is a North Eastern promotion, would never try and steal somebody from the South, let alone running a show down there.)

Within the last month, WWF have made plenty of enemies, after they swooped in a basically stole four of the youngest and brightest wrestlers in America. In Hulk Hogan, who jumped from AWA to WWF, the WWF is getting a big powerful young man with tons of charisma. "I see Hogan as someone we will call the face of the WWF for years to come." McMahon said.

He continued, "Nothing against our current talent, but now that I am in charge, I want to take this ship in another direction."

One that will most notably, be a more youthful promotion. Rumors circulated that the young McMahon is tired of the slow grappling style that dominated the 70's. He is rumored to want to take the WWF in more of a high impact , faster style that MACW and WCCW use today.

Another thing McMahon wants to bring to the WWF is more entertainment. He seems to favor more people with personality. Jesse Ventura fits that flamboyant personality that McMahon favors. Ventura, who comes over from AWA, has tag team expierence, but is most famous for his caustic interviews. Many believe that McMahon plans on begininng a program between Ventura and Hogan.

Probably one of the best overall performer that the WWF has brought in is Roddy Piper. Piper is young, athletic, and can cut an interview. It is rumored that Vince plans on pairing Piper with his latest acquistion. One that is familiar with fans from Texas.

http://weblogs.newsday.com/sports/specialevent/wrestling/hayes2.jpg

Many people were shocked to hear that Micheal PS Hayes, the founding member of The Freebirds, has signed with WWF. But, do not fear WCCW fans, Vince is going to allow Hayes to compete in WCCW, something he won't allow for Hogan, Piper, or Ventura. With Hayes being brought on board, many people say it's only a matter of time before his fellow mates in the Freebirds make the jump as well.....Only time will tell.

A Look Back At The Career Of Larry Hennig

http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p251/sniperphotos/09.jpg

At 51 years of age, and with 20 years of in ring action that included a major knee injury, Larry "The Axe" Hennig has called it quits on his legendary wrestling career. The consumate "man's man", Hennig had a dual sport (wrestling and football) scholarship to the Universty Of Minnesota, but with the pressures of caring for his young family (which includes current AWA star Curt Hennig), Larry gave up on his dreams. In 1963, Hennig began his prowrestling career under the tutelage of Verne Gagne, the founder of AWA.

Shortly thereafter, Hennig began to question Gagne's scientific approach, and wanted to use his massive frame 6'1 280, to physically punish opponents. Things came to a boiling point during the summer of 1963, and Hennig eventually left AWA and traveled to Texas.

It was here that Hennig adopted his now famous brawling style, and where he formed what some say was the best tag team ever. Along with "Handsome" Harley Race, "Pretty Boy" Larry Hennig, would go on to capture the AWA Tag Team Titles three times. Their feuds with Dick The Bruiser and The Crusher were legendary for there brutality. At the time of their first reign, Hennig and Race were the youngest tag team to win the AWA Tag Team Titles.

Verne Gagne resented Hennig's and Race's brawling style and hired fellow wrestlers to try and take them out. Gagne and The Crusher ended up defeating Race and Hennig six months after they won titles. Hennig and Race would embark on a mutlinational tour that saw them travel throughout Europe and Asia.

Hennig would show his toughness on November 1st, 1967. During a match in Winnepeg, Hennig's leg bent backward causing severe tendon and ligament damage. But, instead of going to the hospital, Hennig made Race drive him back 500 miles to his home in Minneapolis. It would take Hennig one full year to make his return to the ring. But over that year away, Race had a thirst for a singles career, and would leave for the NWA.

Over the next 5 years Hennig would continue to work in tag teams, most notably with Lars Anderson and "Dirty" Dusty Rhodes. Hennig would adapt "The Axe" moniker on an AWA TV taping on August 10, 1974. Hennig's associates (Nick Bockwinkel, Ray Stevens, and Bobby Heenan) were attacking the AWA Tag Team Champions Jim Brunzell and Greg Gagne (Verne's son).

Over the next 9 years, Hennig would continue to feud with Bockwinkel and Stevens. But in the early 80's he concentrated on helping his son, Curt, into the buisness.

As of late, Hennig had been feuding with his longtime foe Dick The Bruiser. The feud intensifyed after The Bruiser sent Curt to the hospital with severe nerve damage to his neck. That incedent caused Hennig to issue a retirement challenge. However, AWA fans were shocked when Hennig's longtime partner Harley Race interfered and blindsided Hennig with a chairshot, causing Dick The Bruiser to win and sending Larry Henning into retirement.

Promotional Rankings

AWA:

Nick Bockwinkel AWA World Heavyweight Champion

Rick Martel AWA TV Champion

Greg Gagne 1/2 AWA Tag Team Champions

Harley Race

Brad Rheingans

AWA officals were said to be furious over WWF signing away Hulk Hogan and Jesse Ventura. Verne Gagne realizes that times are changing, and he is expected to take a run at some of WWF workers, as payback. Harley Race was brought back into the company, but don't look for any titlle wins in the near term. Many believe that he was brought in as a favor to the Hennig family. In Race's first match back, Race wrestled Curt Hennig to a double DQ. AWA Heavyweight Champion Nick Bockwinkel has been involved in a feud with Greg Gagne, but expect that to end soon, as Jim Brunzell was injured throughout most of the month and expects to be coming back shortly.

WWF:

Bob Backlund WWF Heavyweight Champion

Don Muraco WWF IC Champion

Andre The Giant

Jimmy Snuka

Ray Stevens

WWF signed Hulk Hogan, Jesse Ventura, Roddy Piper, and Micheal Hayes to contracts. Only Hayes contract is non-exclusive, meaning he can still wrestle in WCCW. Hogan, Ventura, and Piper can wrestle in other companies, but it has to be aproved by WWF. Expect the Backlund-Andre feud to continue throughout the month of May. Hogan and Jimmy Snuka are also involved in a bloody feud right now, with Snuka for now getting the upperhand. Ray Stevens went undefeated in the month of April picking up victories over Tito Santana, Tony Atlas, and Eddie Gilbert.
