Ring of Honor : Take No Prisoners

Saturday, Week 2, March 2009

The show opened up with the now bigger Sweet & Sour, Inc as Raven and Larry Sweeney talked to each other and the "merger" Raven discussed Marufuji, who he promised a victory over tonight, then Davey Richards entered, he and Hero had a face off, but Sweeney separated them, Davey & Go Shiozaki stared at each other while Davey left and we cut to ringside

"American Dragon" Bryan Danielson vs Claudio Castagnoli

Good match opening up the show, much similar to their other matches, Claudio and Danielson put on one heck of a match, the finish came as Danielson was about to start the elbow shots to the sitting Claudio, Claudio however quickly maneuvered out of the position and rolled Danielson up in a small package picking up the pinfall out of nowhere

Winner : Claudio Castagnoli

Match Rating : C+

Naomichi Marufuji vs Raven

Great match here, Raven showed signs of his former self, really working hard in the ring with Marufuji, Marufuji tried the Shiranui a few times, however, was unable to hit it, Raven took advantage of a Marufuji mistake and quickly nailed the Evenflow DDT and picked up the win

Winner : Raven

Match Rating : B-

Kenny King of the YRR vs Ace Steel

Something was missing in the match, but it served its purpose of bringing the crowd down a little bit after the Raven match, Ace Steel picked up the win at the ten minute mark with the Steel Spike

Winner : Ace Steel

Match Rating : D-

Backstage we go to Steen & Generico discussing the match they had the previous night with Franky & Apollo, as they were discussing that, Buh Buh Ray and D-Von entered the picture and they had a face off, The Dudleys making the official challenge for the Ring of Honor tag team titles

The Vulture Squad vs Mark & Jay Briscoe (w/ Claudio Castagnoli)

Something was off in this match, Jay Briscoe was a little sluggish in the match, as was Ruckus, however, it was a pretty good little match that showed some good tag team work between both teams, Claudio proved to be a distraction, however, the distraction was in favor of the Vulture Squad to end the match when Mark Briscoe missed the springboard for the Jay Driller and Jigsaw turned it into a modified Northern Lights Suplex and got the surprise win

Winners : The Vulture Squad

Match Rating : D+

Davey Richards vs Go Shiozaki

Something awkward here and their timing was off, however, they followed the Vulture Squad upset quite well, Go attempted a Go Flasher, but Davey got out of it and ended up nailing the DR Driver for the win

Winner : Davey Richards

Match Rating : D+

After the match the Sweet & Sour, Inc members shook hands and both left with Larry Sweeney, we cut backstage to Jerry Lynn discussing the main event and stating what a dream come true it would be to win the title in one of his favorite venues, cut from there to Kyle Durden with Christian Cage, they put over the debut of Christian Cage at Proving Ground 2009 and stated that tonight was his first step towards the ROH World Title, making the statement that Necro, Delirious and Psicosis were going to be his first victims

Kevin Steen & El Generico vs Austin Aries & Roderick Strong

Prior to the match starting, Austin Aries got on the mic and stated that if Steen & Generico were true fighting champions, they would put the titles on the line against one of the greatest tag teams in the history of Ring of Honor, they obliged, making this a tag team match, this was definitely a way to come back from intermission, they put on a great match, solid tag team action with Roderick and Austin working together like the team that everyone remembers, the finishing moment came after all hell broke loose, all 4 were in the ring, Austin wound up outside, taken out by Generico flying over the top rope on him, Steen attempted a superkick, but Roderick ducked under and hooked him up for the Power Breaker, as soon as it hit, Larry Sweeney, who was creeping the aisleway popped up on the ring apron distracting referee Todd Sinclair while Franky Tha Mobster and Apollo Kahn came in from the crowd and nailed Roderick with a stuff powerbomb and they scurried away while Sinclair shoved Larry Sweeney off of the apron, the legal man, El Generico sees Roderick laying out in the ring and climbs up top scoring the pinfall with a flying splash

Winners and STILL ROH World Tag Team Champions : Kevin Steen & El Generico

Match Rating : C

After the match Steen and Generico argued after Steen told Generico what took place, Generico looked defeated and slumped his way to the back while Steen held his title high

Delirious vs Psicosis vs Necro Butcher vs Christian Cage

4-Corner Survival

What started out as a good match turned rather sour mid-way through, Psicosis, who refused to follow the Code of Honor prior to the match fell from the top rope as he was climbing up for a top rope maneuver and he appeared to have fallen awkwardly on the outside, he was out of the rest of the match, Delirious and Necro, regardless of their previous alignments fought tooth and nail and were out smarted a couple of times by the crafty Chrisitan Cage, the finish came after nearly thirty minutes, Necro Butcher had the match under control, nailing Delirious with the Tiger Bomb and at two and three quarters Christian Cage kicked him as hard as he could in the spine, lifted him up, UnPrettier and Christian Cage stole away the victory

Winner : Christian Cage

Match Rating : C+

After the match Christian stood center ring and demanded that all three shake his hand, Delirious obliged, Psicosis was in the back since the middle of the match and Necro refused, nailing Christian with a hard shot to the jaw, knocking him out cold in the middle of the ring

Previews for the latest releases from http://www.rohwrestling.com aired as the ring was being set up for the main event.

Nigel McGuinness vs Jerry Lynn

ROH World Title

Steel Cage Match

MATCH OF THE WEEKEND and certainly, an early candidate for match of the year, Nigel and Lynn tore each other down inside the steel cage for nearly an hour, every false finish that you can imagine took place here, one of the biggest moments of the match took place when Lynn had scaled to the top of the cage, looking as though he was going to come flying down on Nigel, who had made his way up and shook the cage until Lynn was crotched on the top of the cage, Nigel attempted the Tower of London from the top of the cage, but Lynn didn't allow it to happen, Nigel did however climb up and attempt a superplex, but Lynn shifted his weight and they came crashing down on each other, amazingly though, Nigel kicked out just as Todd Sinclair' hand was coming down for the three count, the crowd was on their feet and the chants were split between Jerry & Nigel, in the end, Jerry Lynn' exhaustion got the best of him, as he went for the Cradle Piledriver in the center of the ring, Nigel was able to escape, whipped Lynn around and nailed Divorce Court on him and then clamped on the London Dungeon, Jerry refused to tap, Nigel was practically bridged back to his spikes on the mat with Lynn nearly bent in half before he finally tapped out

Winner and STILL ROH World Champion : Nigel McGuinness

Match Rating : B-

After the initial reaction from the crowd of Nigel retaining, the crowd was on their feet with "ROH" chants and working into "THAT WAS AWESOME!", then half of the crowd split into "THANK YOU NIGEL" with the other half "THANK YOU JERRY" it took nearly five minutes for both men, who were bloodied and obviously exhausted to get to their feet, however, in the end, Nigel McGuinness and Jerry Lynn stood in the middle of the ring shaking hands, Jerry raised Nigel' hand before he left, with the crowd chanting his name.

Show Rating : C+

To anyone who reads this diary, I want to let you know that I'll not let it die, however, for the time being, I'm going to take a brief hiatus, my personal life is a bit hectic right now with work and family things going psychotic at the moment, I'll update as often as I can, however, it won't be as often as I would like for it to be, maybe twice a month at most, honestly, I don't care about doing it to have people shower me with praise and what not, if you enjoy the cards, fantastic, if you hate them, that's great too... But I will keep it going and will update as often as I can, quick results will be up for the remaining 2 TV shows for the month of March with Supercard of Honor IV weekend to follow it, the results won't be very detailed, probably a quick write up, I plan on Seventh Year cards to be very detailed and quite long, so it will take me some time to get those posted.

Claudio Castagnoli vs Roderick Strong ©

FIP Championship

Cut backstage after the celebration of Roderick and Kyle Durden is standing by with ROH Champion Nigel McGuinness and Christian Cage who will be teaming tonight against Austin Aries & Bryan Danielson, Durden asks about the match tonight and then the four-way elimination match tomorrow night, Christian Cage cuts off Nigel stating that since he beat Nigel on THIS is WRESTLING that he would field the questions, which then started a back and forth argument between Nigel and Christian that ended with Nigel promising to break Christian’ arm tomorrow night before Nigel stormed off – cut from there to Claudio with the Briscoes –

Claudio selling the loss to Roderick as he walks through the curtains, Jay and Mark tell Claudio that they’ll get the title, Claudio speaks low, the camera doesn’t pick anything up, Mark & Jay look at each other and nod before walking away with Claudio.

Psicosis vs Go Shiozaki

Good match, Psicosis was a little sluggish for some reason, Psicosis was able to hit the Guillotine Leg Drop at the ten minute mark, however, it wasn’t enough to put the big man down, Shiozaki mounted a come back that never stopped and ended the match at the eighteen minute mark with the Go Flasher.

Juventud Guerrera vs El Generico

Good match, funny little segment before the action started that Generico and Juvy couldn’t agree what hand to shake with, they eventually agreed to the “White Guy” high five (missing the high five) and ending in shaking each others foot, high spot of the match saw Juvy going for a flying headscissor take down, however, Generico was able to keep himself on his feet, Juvy whipped around his body and wound up in a sit-out powerbomb, which got a good reaction from the crowd, in the end, Juvy nailed a Juvy Driver and went up top for the 450, met with knees as he came down, Generico popped up hooking Juvy and nailing the Turnbuckle BRAAAIIINNNBOOOOSTAAAHHH!!!!!

Winner : El Generico

Match Rating : C

Juvy and Generico showed respect after the match, they celebrated for the crowd and we cut to a normal video hyping the latest releases on http://www.rohwrestling.com – cut from there to a promo with Larry Sweeney who is with Chris Hero, Sweeney informs Hero that with two of his guys fighting, he refuses to pick sides, he tells Hero that he doesn’t know what Richards’ problem is, which is where Richards bursts in and Sweeney stays between them, Richards tells Hero that if it wasn’t for his prima donna attitude, they wouldn’t have to have their match tonight, but since Hero wants to be the “Golden Boy” he was going to have to put him in his place – cut back to ringside.

ROH Champion Nigel McGuinness & Christian Cage vs Austin Aries & Bryan Danielson

Prazak & Lenny remind us of all that has happened thus far, from Final Battle 2008 when Austin Aries tried to end Nigel’ career with the chair-assisted Last Chancery to the attack afterwards of Bryan Danielson to the title match at Born Champion and the Ring of Honor debut of Christian Cage – Nigel shakes hands with Danielson and Aries, Christian reluctantly shakes hands with Aries and firmly shakes hands with Danielson – what should have been a good tag team match turned into a free for all, a definite preview of tomorrow night’s elimination four way match, Todd Sinclair finally restored some order in the match, the finish came after about twenty five minutes, Nigel tagged himself in on Christian, taking advantage of an already weakened Aries & Danielson, nailed the Jawbreaker Lariat on Aries as he got up, a Divorce court for Danielson and Christian tagged himself in, Nigel took offense at this and a shoving match ensued, Christian shoved Nigel hard and Nigel hit the ropes, going halfway out and nailed a Jawbreaker Lariat on Christian flipping him inside out, Nigel took his place on the apron, Danielson began to come to, rolled Christian over and went for the pin, but Nigel broke the pin up and drug Christian over to the corner tagging himself in again, waited for Danielson to get up and nailed a hard Jawbreaker Lariat on Danielson, Nigel covered Danielson gingerly, with a hand drapped on top of Aries, who was on his back and a foot over Christian Cage picking up the pinfall

Winners : ROH Champion Nigel McGuinness & Christian Cage

Match Rating : C+

After the match, Nigel gave his normal 2 fingers up and taunted all four men as they laid out on the mat – logo across the screen and it’s Main Event time

Chris Hero vs Davey Richards

Good match to end the first night, Richards had a strong showing as did Hero, the crowd seemed to enjoy the match, slapping contest started things out and worked it’s way into an elbow smash exchange and into some chops, Hero surprisingly takes the advantage early on, the match itself lasted nearly forty minutes, Hero was setting up for the knockout Roaring Elbow, as he came in Richards ducked under the shot and got Hero in a rear waist lock, Hero with an elbow to get out of it, Hero off the ropes, ROCKS Richards with a Roaring Elbow, Hero quick on the cover, Richards BARELY kicks out, Hero obviously frustrated pulls something from his tights and slips it into his elbow pad, waits on Richards to get up and comes flying through with another Roaring Elbow but Richards ducks under, rear waist lock and a release german suplex, Hero gets up, boot to the midsection and DR Driver in the center of the ring – ONE…TWO… THREE

Winner : Davey Richards

Match Rating : C

Richards celebrates around the ring, screaming at the fans, pulls Hero to his feet and they stare down, Richards leaves Hero in the ring and we fade out

MsChif © vs Lufisto vs Amazing Kong vs Sara Del Rey

SHIMMER Championship

Good match to kick things off tonight, started off with some team work from all 4 as Lufisto & MsChif worked together against Kong & Del Rey, Kong looked really good in this match tossing Lufisto and MsChif around like rag dolls, however, she wasn’t able to toss Del Rey around as she and Del Rey had an impressive standoff in the ring, neither wanting to budge, in the end of it all, Kong nailed an Amazing Bomb on Lufisto, only to get nailed by Sara Del Rey with a hard kick to the back of the head, Del Rey turned right around into a face full of Green Mist from MsChif and fell victim to the Desecrator, allowing MsChif to retain the SHIMMER title

Winner and STILL SHIMMER Champion : MsChif

Match Rating : C-

Very little celebrating goes on, logo across the screen and The Iron Saints are making their entrance

The Iron Saints vs Franky & Apollo

Good match, both teams worked very well together and aside from two small missed spots, this match was solid and served its purpose, Franky & Apollo certainly had their hands full, especially with Salvatore, who stood toe to toe with the big men, in the end however, Apollo felt the Sicilian Driver and was out for the count

Winners : The Iron Saints

Match Rating : C-

Naomichi Marufuji vs Jimmy Jacobs

Larry Sweeney attempted to accompany Jacobs to the ring, however, after much protesting in the midst of his entrance, Jacobs finally got his way and Sweeney left the ringside area, they put on a good match, Jacobs nearly made Marufuji tap with the End Time nearly three minutes in, however, Marufuji overcame the move and attempted a release Northern Lights Suplex that caused both men to go over the top rope and to the floor with Jacobs keeping the End Time locked in, got a great reaction from the crowd, Jacobs broke up the count from new referee Bryce Remsberg at nineteen, the match continued with neither man holding a clear advantage until the final five minutes or so, Jacobs attempted to take Marufuji out with the Contra Code, but as he ran up the ropes, Marufuji pushed Jacobs off, Jacobs keeping his balance on the top rope, Marufuji with a hard kick to the ankle of Jacobs and Jacobs feel straight down crotching himself on the top rope, Marufuji pulled him down into the Tree of Woe position, Marufuji outside on the apron springboards off with the Coast to Coast dropkick on Jacobs, as soon as Jacobs was freed and he fell to the mat Marufuji waited on him to get up, Shiranui hits and Marufuji is victorious.

Winner : Naomichi Marufuji

Match Rating : C+

Cut backstage to find Kevin Steen & El Generico, Jerry Lynn & Delirious all together, they’re talking about their respective matches tonight, Delirious rambles about Juventud Guerrera for a minute or so leaving Kyle Durden looking confused, Jerry Lynn discusses Mark Briscoe and challenges Jay Briscoe and Claudio Castagnoli to come get involved in the match tonight, Steen & Generico discuss The Dudley Boys, Steen says that he doesn’t care if they’re the most decorated tag team, the most respected tag team, tonight they were going to face one of the greatest tag teams in the history of Ring of Honor and that the Dudleys wouldn’t be able to keep up with Steen & Generico tonight – cut back to ringside.

Delirious vs Juventud Guerrera

Good match, Delirious had some comedy going on at first, seeming to be asking Juvy to go mask for mask, neither could understand the other and they had a stand off with shouts. The match itself didn’t last too long, nearly ten minutes, Juvy attempted a Juvy Driver which Delirious was able to swing into a small package picking up the win

Winner : Delirious

Match Rating : C

Logo across the screen as Delirious is sliding out of the ring after the pin was counted, the fans left with a slighty bad taste in their mouth only to come alive and to their feet as The Dudley Boys made their entrance, the fans respecting the multi-time Tag Team Champions, giving them a nice ovation, however, that was soon drowned out as “Ole!” by Bouncing Souls hit and Steen & Generico made their entrance

Kevin Steen & El Generico © vs The Dudley Boys

ROH World Tag Team Championship

Code of Honor is followed and the match started off with a feeling out process, D-Von and Generico starting things out, D-Von attempted to power around the smaller Generico, however, Generico was having none of it and laid in a few hard shots of his own on D-Von, sending the smaller Dudley into the corner to tag in Buh Buh Ray, as soon as Buh Buh tagged in Steen was demanding a tag, Generico however ignored the shouting of Kevin Steen and attempted to go toe to toe with Buh Buh Ray until he found out that this was a mistake, Generico was tossed around, high hip tosses landing square on the small of his back until Generico finally fell close enough to the corner to tag in Steen, Steen and Buh Buh faced off hitting each other with hard shots, elbow smashes and worked their way into shoulder tackle attempts until both men were running the ropes and neither man falling, Kevin Steen finally takes the advantage by ducking under a clothesline attempt and catching Buh Buh Ray with a deep arm drag take down, the remainder of the match was hard hitting, nail biting, Generico showed his worth as he kicked out of not one, but two Buh Buh Cutters, Steen finally got a hot tag into the ring clotheslining Buh Buh over the top rope and having his way with D-Von, Steen locked the sharpshooter in, Buh Buh faked an entry to the ring and Generico entered the ring only to be cut off by Paul Turner while Buh Buh Ray then entered the ring and cracked Steen over the head with a chair, the crowd immediately started the shower the ring with garbage, D-Von slowly back to his feet makes the tag to Buh Buh, Buh Buh enters and immediately knocks Generico off of the apron, D-Von whips Steen in, Dudley Death Drop and as Generico tries to enter the ring, D-Von cuts him off and Buh Buh gets the pinfall, there are new Tag Team Champions!

Winners and NEW ROH World Tag Team Champions : The Dudley Boys

Match Rating : C-

The ring is littered with trash and chants of “F*** YOU DUDLEYS!” *clap clap clap clap clap* Buh Buh grabbed the mic after the match, telling the fans that they made a promise when they came to Ring of Honor to win the World Tag Team Titles, then runs down the company and the fans and the Dudleys throw down the ROH World Tag Team Titles and spit on them before D-Von takes the mic and testifies for the crowd.

ROH Logo across the screen and the fans are still whipped into a frenzy after the antics of the Dudley Boys, “Gimme Back My Bullets” plays and they start booing even louder as Mark Briscoe makes his entrance with his new tights that are half American Flag, half Switzerland showing their alliance with Claudio Castagnoli, Jerry Lynn soons makes his entrance

Jerry Lynn vs Mark Briscoe

Good match, the crowd still irate over the finish to the Dudley match though expected so much more. Mark Briscoe feigned a knee injury early on, only to catch Lynn off guard and attempt to put him away with a Mark Out, however, Lynn was able to slip out of it. For nearly thirty minutes these two pushed each other to the limit, eventually turning the crowd around after the previous tag title match, at thirty two minutes Mark Briscoe attempted a hurricanrana, only to have Jerry Lynn grab on to the top rope, hook his arm through the leg of Mark Briscoe and hit a sit out cradle piledriver, Jerry Lynn picks up the win

Winner : Jerry Lynn

Match Rating : C

After the match, the crowd were on their feet applauding both men, Briscoe accepted the hand shake of Jerry Lynn in a very nice show of respect, however, Mark left without any touchy feely moments while Lynn stayed and celebrated with the crowd as they were chanting his name.

Logo across the screen and “REACH OUT AND TOUCH FAITH” – it’s time for the main event – we get a small video on the history of all of the competitors, dating back to ROH : Unified and How We Roll, we get some reminders from Final Battle 2008 as well as the previous night at Stalking Prey with Nigel pinning all three challengers at the same time

Nigel McGuinness © vs Bryan Danielson vs Christian Cage vs Austin Aries

ROH World Title Elimination Match

What a match! Austin Aries showing his overgrowing attitude recently demanded to start the match with Nigel, however, when Nigel refused to start the match, Aries refused to start the match and we were instead treated to Christian Cage and “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson starting things off, after a good few minutes of not being able to take Dragon off of his feet, Christian tried to quick tag Austin, however, Austin ducked under the tag attempt and slapped Christian in the face, Christian complained to referee Todd Sinclair about the disrespect, Sinclair simply shrugged and pointed at Danielson. Danielson and Cage worked on each other for the first ten minutes or so of the match, both men showing a great skill, however, Danielson having the clear advantage in the match, Cage finally tagged out to Nigel while he was yelling at a fan in the front row, Nigel and Danielson had a nice spot where both men were trying to gain an advantage with Nigel losing the advantage, however, a thumb to the eye socket quickly stopped that advantage and Nigel took over, working on Danielson, Aries was going psychotic on the outside trying to get a tag from Danielson, Nigel taunted Aries pulling Danielson towards the corner and holding his hand out, only to pull it away and lock in an armbar, Danielson eventually made his come back, knocking Nigel halfway out of the ring, as Nigel tried to come back with the Jawbreaker Lariat, Aries slapped the back of Danielson and springboarded off the ropes with a dropkick to the face of Nigel, sending him out of the ring, as Nigel was getting up, Aries started stomping on the mat, ran the ropes and was about to take off with the Heat Seeking Missile, but was instead met with a knee to the top of the head by Christian Cage, this caused Christian to fall off of the apron as well and sent Christian limping around the ringside area for a moment, Nigel took advantage hitting a couple of European Uppercuts to the seemingly knocked out Aries, Nigel shoved Aries back into the ring and followed in, the next few minutes Nigel just toyed with Aries, hitting all of his signature moves (Lariat while he’s on the top rope, numerous European Uppercuts, Divorce Court) and ended with locking in the London Dungeon, as he was in the hold however, wrenching back, Christian Cage quickly tagged the shoulder, Todd Sinclair immediately forced Nigel to break the hold and was arguing with Nigel while Christian came into the ring and quickly picked up Aries, nailing the Unprettier and scoring a quick pinfall

(Austin Aries eliminated by Christian Cage at 16:31)

Nigel re-entered the ring, trying to kick Christian Cage in the back, however, he quickly rolled off of Aries and made a bee line towards Danielson and made the tag to Danielson, Dragon stands on the apron and watches Christian as he runs off around the ring and jaws back and forth with Nigel before turning towards the crowd and gets into it with them, Nigel steps in the ring and he and Danielson stand in the center of the ring forehead to forehead and start yelling back and forth, Danielson starts with a slap to the face, which Nigel reciprocates, they keep slapping each other in the face, Danielson grabs Nigel in a head lock, Nigel with elbows, runs Danielson to the ropes and shoots him off to the other side, as Danielson hits, Christian grabs his boot trying to trip him, however, Danielson stays on his feet, Chrisitan turns around to the crowd showing off, Danielson reaches through the ropes and pulls Christian by the back of the head into the ring, Christian pushes himself off of Danielson backing right into Nigel, as he turns around, Nigel nails a European Uppercut, Christian flies around directly to Danielson who throws an Uppercut of his own, back to Nigel with another Uppercut, they go back and forth 5 times each with the crowd counting each one, Danielson then goes for another Uppercut which Christian moves out of the way of, Danielson hit Nigel, Nigel back into the ropes, halfway up, comes flying back with the Jawbreaker Lariat nailing Christian Cage from the back sending his face bouncing off of the mat, the crowd is going nuts, Nigel attempts a cover, however, Todd Sinclair does not make the count as Christian is not a legal man in the ring.

Danielson and Nigel go back at each other, the crowd eating out of their hands, just as any other meeting between the two, they pushed each other to the limits, big spot happened they were trading Uppercuts again, Danielson did a big wind up with his arm and went for the Uppercut which Nigel blocked, Danielson with a hard headbutt that sends Nigel staggering backwards into the ropes, Nigel comes out with the Jawbreaker, however Danielson ducks under and grabs Nigel right away dropping him in a side suplex slam, wraps the arms up and starts nailing elbows to the side of the head, as soon as he finishes, Danielson locks in Cattle Mutilation, as he’s got the hold going, Christian reaches over the top rope and tags the foot of Bryan Danielson just as Nigel starts to tap out, Todd Sinclair doesn’t see the tap out, however he does see the tag, Danielson gets up excited only to be met with a springboard clothesline taking him out, Christian quickly rolls Nigel up in a pin, grabbing a handful of the tights and gets the easy three count.

(Nigel McGuinness is eliminated by Christian Cage at 25:41)

Christian starts celebrating, jumping around the ring until he realizes that he’s standing across the ring from Danielson, Danielson makes sure to remind Chrisitan that he’s just recently defeated him, Christian finally puts all shenanigans aside and he and Danielson circle each other, both looking for an advantage to take on their opponent, the crowd on their feet chanting “BEST IN THE WORLD!” over and over again, finally the lock up in the center of the ring, Christian attempts to go behind on Danielson very quickly, however, Danielson meets him as he comes around with a hard shot to the eye which immediately begins bleeding, followed up with Danielson tripping Christian up and taking him down, locking him in an STF-type hold, however, being close to the ropes, Christian grabbed the bottom rope to immedietaly break up the hold.

Christian and Danielson continue to go back and forth, Danielson mostly having the advantage, with Christian trying everything to get an upper hand, one spot in the match saw Danielson take Chrisitian down with a judo throw and attempt Cattle Mutilation, however, he couldn’t get the arms locked and Chrisitan nearly picked up the win by getting Danielson in a pinning position

Nearing the 40 minute mark, Danielson looked to be ready to finish off Christian, Christian whipped into the turnbuckles, Danielson follows in with a clothesline attempt, gets met with a boot to the face, Christian hops up, waits for Danielson to turn back around, grabs his head and leaps off with a tornado DDT attempt, Danielson drops Christian on his feet and tries a Northern Lights Suplex, but Christian slips out from behind, grabs Danielson’ arms and tries for the Unprettier but Danielson slips out grabbing Christian’ arms and tries to take him down for Cattle Mutilation, Christian with a hard back kick to the groin of Danielson, immediately the ROH crowd erupts into boos, Christian gives a middle finger to all of the crowd and hooks Danielson’ arms, UNPRETTIER, then he rolls Danielson over and climbs up to the top rope looking out at all of the fans and yells “F*** ALL OF YOU!” Chrisitan comes off with a frog splash, but as soon as it hits, Danielson grabs Chrisitan’ arm in a triangle hold, forcing Christian to the mat, the crowd erupts, Christian is about to give up but as he raises his hand to tap he quickly rolls Danielson into a weird inside cradle using his free hand to grab the tights and Todd Sinclair makes the count of one….two…three… WE HAVE A NEW WORLD CHAMPION!

(Bryan Danielson eliminated by Christian Cage at 43:28)

Winner and NEW ROH World Champion : Christian Cage

Match Rating : C+

The crowd is littering the ring with trash booing their heads off as Chrisitan lays on the mat laughing and screaming at the same time while holding his arm, he gets to his feet and kicks Danielson, pushing him out of the ring, Todd Sinclair hands Christian the ROH World Title which Christian proudly displays to the crowd as they keep littering the ring with trash, soon a chair comes flying in the ring (apparently they ran out of trash to throw) and soon after that, more chairs follow as Christian is taunting the crowd, “BULLS***” chants echoing through the building, Christian holds the title up high again as he’s leaving and gets pelted with a full glass of ice as Lenny Leonard and Dave Prazak tell us goodbye and fade to black with chairs still littering the ring every now and then

Final Show Rating : C

(OOC : I promised not to let this die, I really want to get this to my final destination, I know not many people will be happy with this card, but trust me, the final result will be satisfying to everyone)

Wow, do I ever suck at life lately...

Sorry for anyone that was actually looking forward to reading anything, however, I'm once again having to take a hiatus (obviously) I personally feel that if I can't give it enough attention, then I shouldn't bother with it, so I've put everything on the back burner for the moment.

As much as I want to get through the rest of the year (some really fun things coming up soon) I know that I can't at the moment with the kids getting out of school and trying to adjust to my new work schedule and all of that, (plus, it's baseball season! When the kids goto bed, I'm glued to the tube until the final pitch of the last game of the night... God Bless You mlb.tv and MLB Extra Innings package!)

I'll get it figured out and post things as I can.... however, I may just kill this diary off since it has lost so much steam in the past few months and focus my time to the WWE : Broken Road to Wrestlemania that I spent a month building up... or just start something new... who knows...

I'll let you guys know when I know something

Until then,

Presents

This Means War

Week 2 April 2009

We’re treated to Larry Sweeney opening the DVD in the back with Sweet & Sour, Inc and The Age of the Fall surrounding him, Sweeney hypes up Chris Hero for his match with Ace Steel tonight and then Roderick Strong tomorrow night, he then discusses Davey Richards getting a shot at the ROH Title at 7th Year Celebration, however, having to go through Sweet & Sour, Inc members yet again to get there, Sweeney says that Sweet & Sour will prevail in the end and the gold will come home to Sweet & Sour, Inc, Hero scoffs, which sets Richards off, Sweeney tries to keep them separate and tells Raven to handle Age of the Fall business while he gets between the two, Raven goes on to tell Tyler Black that tonight was his chance to prove himself to the Age of the Fall and the fans of Ring of Honor by beating Roderick Strong, Raven then goes on to talk about Austin Aries, who he will face tomorrow night, guaranteed victory and promises that Austin Aries will never be the same after their match.

Ruckus vs Kenny King of the YRR

Decent opening match, Kenny King got the match started off taking the advantage stopping any of Ruckus’ attempts at offense, early attempt of a Corination and Ruckus slips out, Ruckus takes over, putting Kenny down with a few arm drags, works on King nailing a standing shooting star press, a few near fall attempts and King takes the advantage back, once again goes for the Corination, but Ruckus again slips out, irish whip attempt out of the Corination is double reversed with King in the corner, Ruckus hits the Razzle Dazzle and follows up with The Hate Crime to pick up the win.

Winner : Ruckus

Match Rating : D

MsChif © vs Sara Del Rey

SHIMMER Title 2 out of 3 falls

Not as good of a match as some of their previous encounters, Del Rey took the first fall with the Death Rey, MsChif bridged a German Suplex to pick up the second fall, the third fall was pretty exciting as Del Rey & MsChif gave an homage to Savage – Steamboat with a plethora of near falls, a small package from MsChif was rolled from one side of the ring to the other as they kept trading off near falls, finish came with MsChif catching a clothesline attempt from Del Rey and whipping herself around the body of Sara and landing on her feet, still holding on to the arm she quickly wraps Del Rey up with the Desecrator and picks up the win.

Winner and STILL SHIMMER Champion : MsChif

Match Rating : D+

-post match there was an attempt at a show of respect, but Del Rey left with Larry Sweeney instead

Arik Cannon vs Delirious vs Brandon Thomaselli vs BJ Whitmer

Four Corner Survival

Good hard hitting match, Delirious was the focal point of all three men for the opening moments of the match, Whitmer got the best of Delirious and left him out of the ring after a release half nelson suplex, Thomaselli, Cannon & Whitmer spent the next ten minutes punishing each other, Cannon went after Thomaselli, however Thomaselli showed just how massive of a guy he is by catching Cannon in his high cross body attempt in a fall away slam position, hoisting him up to his shoulders then pressing him high above his head and tossing him across the ring face first into the turnbuckle with a sick thud, Cannon slumps down in the corner, Delirious recovered and slid back in the ring running across and nailing a Panic Attack as Whitmer and Thomaselli are trying to gain an upperhand on each other, Delirious climbs up top comes flying off with Shadows over Hell, however, BJ Whitmer had Brandon Thomaselli in position for the half nelson, as Delirious was mid air, Thomaselli turns and catches Delirious, Whitmer hits the Release Half Nelson Suplex as Thomaselli hits a hard one handed fall away slam, Whitmer with the quick cover on Thomaselli picks up the win

Winner : BJ Whitmer

Davey Richards vs Eddie Edwards & Bobby Dempsey

Davey Richards spent the opening couple of minutes arguing with Larry Sweeney about the match, then yelled at Silkin a couple of times, Sweeney motioned around his waist for the belt and it was all that Richards needed to see, he immediately attacked Bobby Dempsey, Dempsey tried to tag a couple of times, but Edwards refused to enter the ring, poor Bobby Dempsey was unable to mount any offense at all and fell victim to the Shooting Star Press in 5:23

Winner : Davey Richards

Tyler Black vs Roderick Strong

Kind of slow paced match, did not live up to the expectations, Roderick took the early advantage and ran with it, Tyler got some offense in and attempted to hit God’s Last Gift only to have it blocked, Roderick didn’t look back, Sick Kick followed up with the Power Breaker and Roderick picks up the win

Winner : Roderick Strong

*Post Match* Jimmy Jacobs hit the ring with the mic after Roderick left the ring and began berating Tyler Black, blaming all of the recent problems for the Age of the Fall on Tyler, blaming Tyler for the “merger” with Sweet & Sour, Incorporated, claiming that while Jimmy was out dealing with his own things that Tyler was supposed to carry on the “message” instead, the Age of the Fall crumbled under Tyler Black, every time Tyler tried to speak, Jimmy would walk across the ring from him, Jimmy said that before the match, he promised Raven that Tyler would prove that the Age of the Fall could be successful, only to have Tyler let him down for the LAST time, Tyler was attempting to take the mic from him again when Brodie Lee slid in the ring behind, as Tyler turned around he was nailed with a Big Boot from Brodie, Jimmy then pulled his spike from his boot and as Brodie picked Tyler up, Jacobs stated that Tyler, like everyone else he had ever come in contact with, had broken his heart and then bashed Tyler in the head with the spike, the attack concluded with Jacobs locking in the End Time until Tyler Black was completely motionless.

Juventud Guerrera vs Go Shiozaki

Pretty good match, both guys didn’t really hold back much, Shiozaki attempted a Go Flasher at the five minute mark, however, Juvy worked his way out of it… Good spot took place at around the nine and a half minute mark, Juvy summoned his WCW persona and went for a “Juicers Elbow” only to have Larry Sweeney grab his leg, as Juvy was trying to grab Sweeney, Go had recovered and came rushing, Juvy backdropped him over the top, Go landed on the apron, Juvy with a springboard dropkick from the second rope knocks Go off of the apron, he then took off and hit a plancha over the top rope catching Shane Hagadorn as he pushed Larry Sweeney out of the way, the match concluded at the eighteen minute mark with Go bringing his knees up on a premature 450 attempt from Juvy, Go Flasher puts him away.

Winner : Go Shiozaki

“Crazy” Ace Steel vs “That Young Knockout Kid” Chris Hero

Good match here, Ace Steel really showed that he can be a major player in Ring of Honor, from the beginning of the match he had Hero on the run, Hero worked over Ace’ head and neck for a majority of the match in an effort to soften him up for the Roaring Elbow, Steel however stopped every attempt of the elbow, about ten minutes in Hero went for the Hero’s Welcome but Ace Steel grabbed Hero’s arm and whipped him around into a short arm clothesline, Steel quickly went for the Steel Spike, but Hero slid out and came flying with the Roaring Elbow only to have Steel duck it and quickly roll up Hero picking up the win out of nowhere

Winner : “Crazy” Ace Steel

Hero goes nuts in the ring while Steel runs away and we cut to a backstage segment

**DVD EXCLUSIVE**

Kyle Durden is standing by with Brent Albright, they go back and forth with Albright stating that he was going to defeat Claudio tonight, Durden wonders if we’ll see the Briscoes show up tonight, but Albright says he doesn’t care one way or the other.

Over to Tyler Black who is being stitched up, he starts screaming about Jimmy Jacobs vowing revenge on him and the rest of the Age of the Fall members – back to ringside

Claudio Castagnoli vs Brent Albright

Hard hitting battle here, Albright and Castagnoli tested each other out at first, then the Uppercut competition took place, Albright took the upper hand and began throwing Claudio around the ring with some suplex variations, Albright went for the Half Nelson Backbreaker, however Claudio was able to stop the move and nailed a big Uppercut sending Albright into the corner allowing Claudio to come flying in with a running Uppercut, nearing the twenty minute mark Claudio hit Albright with Swiss Death (Flapjack Uppercut) and followed up with an Alpamare Waterslide and picked up the win

Winner : Claudio Castagnoli

Jerry Lynn vs “The Lightning Kid” Sean Waltman

VERY disappointing match that went about fifteen minutes too long, Waltman was severely off of his game this night, the usual impeccable timing between he and Lynn was replaced with missed spots and an utter miscarriage of a semi-main event, the fans booed this match out of the building and instead focused on chants against both men, Lynn picked up the win with the Cradle Piledriver

Winner : Jerry Lynn

**DVD EXCLUSIVE**

MsChif is in the back with Jimmy Jacobs, Brodie Lee and Raven when Shane Hagadorn comes in and tells Jacobs & Chif that “The Boss” wants to see them, Jacobs begins to argue with Hagadorn until Raven steps in and tells him to go see Sweeney and get it over with, Hagadorn again starts running his mouth behind Raven, Jacobs glares at Hagadorn until MsChif spits the green mist in his face which actually causes Jacobs to crack a smile.

“The Hottest Free Agent” Christian Cage © vs “Mr Wrestling” Kevin Steen

ROH World Championship

Good match, great first defense, they told a really good story through this match of two technically able workers both wanting the same thing, the World title, Steen worked Christian’s leg through much of the match with Christian taking a few cheap shots at Steen’s knee, Christian nearly pinned Steen with a roll up, however Steen was able to roll through and hit a Senton splash on Christian, tried to get the Sharpshooter, but Christian stopped it. Finish came nearing the twenty five minute mark, Buh Buh Ray & D-Von started to come out, causing a distraction for Kevin Steen, however Necro Butcher and Generico came from the crowd stopping them from advancing, Steen with a back kick to Christian as he was going for the Unprettier, scoops Christian up on his shoulders and hits a Death Valley Driver, Steen slowly climbs up top and comes flying off with the Swanton Bomb, Christian moved out of the way at the last second, hits the Unprettier and picks up the win

Winner and STILL ROH Champion : Christian Cage

**POST MATCH** Christian celebrates in the ring with The Dudley Boys while Necro and Generico help Steen out of the ring all the while he is pushing them both away

Wow.... I haven't posted on this one in a long time, thanks for the props though Nico.... I was using the KYR data, not sure of the month though, I'll have to figure that out and get back to you.... I may do more with this in the future, but I had a big computer snafu and lost about 6 months worth of booking and no longer have my notebook that I booked out this diary in... you never know though... right now I'm going to focus a little bit on my WWE : Broken Road to Wrestlemania diary

I'm Thinking of doing a 2010 ROH diary, i'm not to sure, seems to be very much to do, and i'm not that good in the game ^^

Speaking from my own experience, running my diary has turned out to be a lot more work than I expected it to be. But I feel it's well worth it. The fact that there are quite a few people who follow along and are interested in what I'm doing makes the game exponentially more fun, and encourages me to put more thought and effort into long-term planning than I otherwise would.

I'm still undecided which one I want to bring back full time.... Re-reading through this and my Broken Road to Wrestlemania, I had so many things going on with both of them... I might try double duty after a little while... But who knows... I loved where I was headed with Christian and The Dudley Boys.... Not to mention what was planned for Seventh Year Celebration...

I think I'm going to take another 24 hours and finish re-writing the last couple of matches for Backlash on my BRTWM diary and get that posted and see what kind of feedback I get before I make my final decision

wow.... 6 months later, I read it again and I find myself missing all of the writing that I had done before... I may just have to bring a diary back sometime soon... I'd really have to give it some thought though, I don't want to do something that's just going to die after a week/month
