NEO: From The Bottom Up (C-Verse)

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to take the time to tell you guys to vote in the end of the month polls. And I would also implore you to read all of the choices if you haven't all ready before making your decision (though I guess there are time restraints).

DOTM: Rookie Diary

DOTM: Cornellverse

DOTM: Real World

And for those of you wondering I'll be posting the results of Unwanted Gifts 2009 this evening.

I just read through this thing and I wanted to say I'm really enjoying it. I always seem to dig "local to global" diaries and it's especially fun to see how you use your roster differently from what I do, and maybe even steal a few things here and there.

Keep up the good work.

NEO Generation: Brandon Smith vs. Dark Star © vs. Sean Deeley

Amber Allen vs. Hugh de Aske

Danny Patterson vs. Dazzling Dave Diamond

Fearless Blue & Dharma Gregg vs. Sensationally Powerful

Brendan Idol vs. Jefferson Stardust

Oh yeah - forgot Smith wasn't champion :o. This Triple Threat will do

Danny Patterson vs. Dazzling Dave Diamond

Fearless Blue & Dharma Gregg vs. Sensationally Powerful

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Hugh de Aske will get his win over Allen. But not only is this the only chance that Allen will ever have to beat him but it'd give you an excuse to run segments between them for a while, and I'd like to read them.

In a "I can't believe the AI just did that" moment, Bob Casey wins the NOTBPW Wrestling Spirit (low level) title. That's right Bob Casey wins something in NOTBP freaking W.

Suddenly Crash Lewis being 2 time HGC Cruiserweight Champion in my diary doesn't seem too bad (although he's never had a successful defence).

NEO Unwanted Gifts 2009

Friday, Week 2, December 2009

282 people at the Ohio Jewish Center

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/NEO/resized/BrendanIdol.jpgvs.http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/NEO/resized/JeffersonStardust.jpg

Brendan Idol defeated Jefferson Stardust in 7:54 by pinfall with an Idolizer. - D-

Notes: Brendan Idol and Jefferson Stardust have great chemistry, and it showed in their performances. The announcing quality lifted the match. This match brought the crowd's mood down.

Jefferson Stardust is totally out of it from his loss when Jen and Kathy come down looking as great as ever. The duo tell Jefferson that since he lost it's time for him to get his makeover. Jen and Kathy giggle and say that since he can't do anything on his own he's not really a man. That he's more like a small child or.... a pet. Jen pulls out a large pink furry suit of some kind from under the ring and the Twins put it on Jefferson.

After letting the crowd get a good laugh at Stardust's expense, Kathy takes an over-sized collar and leash and drags the knocked out Stardust from the ring. - D

Sensationally Powerful defeated Fearless Blue and Dharma Gregg in 5:12 when Mary Beth Chase defeated Dharma Gregg by pinfall. - E

Notes: Dharma Gregg seemed off her game tonight. The announcing quality lifted the match. The color commentary gave the match a boost. This match brought the crowd's mood down.

Sean Deeley cuts a promo hyping up his upcoming match with Dark Star and Smith. He says tonight he's going to do what he said he was going to do when he came into NEO, become known as the best wrestler in the company. - D

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/NEO/resized/DannyPatterson.jpgvs.http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/NEO/resized/DazzlingDaveDiamond_McShamrock1.jpg

Dazzling Dave Diamond defeated Danny Patterson in 9:33 by disqualification after Patterson gave a Yakuza Kick to the referee. - E

Notes: The announcing quality lifted the match. The color commentary gave the match a boost. This match brought the crowd's mood down.

Dark Star and Sienna DeVille cuts a promo hyping up his upcoming match with Brandon Smith and Deeley (but with those two it's hard to be sure what they are actually talking about). The two are arguing about whether or not the prophecy mentioned only one or two "golden suns." - D+

Notes: Sienna DeVille helped Dark Star during this segment.

Amber Allen defeated Hugh de Aske in 15:11 by pinfall with a Northern Lights Suplex. - D+

Brandon Smith cuts a promo hyping up his upcoming match with Dark Star and Deeley. He says that he respects Sean Deeley and "Erik Strong" in ring ability, but says that he is the heart of NEO and will be it's first two time champion. - D

Dark Star defeated Brandon Smith and Sean Deeley in 23:48 when Dark Star defeated Sean Deeley by pinfall with a Dark Sault. Dark Star makes defense number 3 of his NEO Generation title. - C-

Notes: Sienna DeVille did some good work at ringside. Dark Star is improving in Technical skills. Sean Deeley is improving in Rumble skills.

Overall: D+

Show Thoughts: Solid show and a show that would have easily been the best overall show if it wasn't for Hallowed Dreams 2009. It's a shame that Sean Deeley is going on a WLW tour that will bump NEO from his schedule because I was going to give him the title tonight and give him a run similar to Smith's. With Deeley out of the picture, I really have no clue where I want to go with the main event scene. Hmm, this is either going to be really good or really bad. Oh well at least this show took the top attendance ranking.

In other news the NEO Generation title is now at B- prestige and Amber Allen gets the time to heal note. Please don't die like Brandon Smith. Oh and I have to take the time to thank FINisher for giving me the idea and the tiger suit for the the Jefferson Stardust alt.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Hugh de Aske will get his win over Allen. But not only is this the only chance that Allen will ever have to beat him but it'd give you an excuse to run segments between them for a while, and I'd like to read them.

Frankly I am surprised you were the only person that caught what I am trying to do. Though I guess it's better that I'm not telegraphing my every move. :D

Suddenly Crash Lewis being 2 time HGC Cruiserweight Champion in my diary doesn't seem too bad (although he's never had a successful defence).

I've played this game throughout 2010 and trust me, it gets SO much better.

Thanks for the praise and don't worry you make steal any ideas you want. :D

Hahaha :D Love it! And on top of that it gives me such a pleasure to see my original idea imported into someone elses diary.. It really gives me the feeling of accomplishing something here when my idea has been transferred into other diary.. I'm liking the diary btw, and I'm really torn apart between you and Trekkiemonsta's "PGHW: The Pride in Conquest" diary in the DOTM Rookie race..

Roster Overview

News and Notes

Hugh de Aske signs with USPW. It's not really a surprise that old people like pirates.

European League of Professional Fighters opens in Central Europe. NEO is now 35 of 36 in Importance and 32 of 36 in Influence. Wow, it's nice not to fall in a bigger whole when another promotion opens.

We signed Frankie Perez for $1000, Masked Patriot for $800, and Ultimate Phoenix for $1,500/$700 and traveling expenses; Frankie Perez will be playing the role of the hypocritical Traditionalist while Phoenix will be a Patriot, but not in the way you'd think. Instead of a country, he is going to be the American Patron of the Lucha Libre style.

In non-wrestler new we finally upgraded our color commentary with the signing of Sarah Silver for $600.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/NEO/resized/BenWilliams.jpgvs.http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/NEO/resized/KashmirSingh_alt1.jpg

Sensational Singh defeated Ben Williams in 4:39 by pinfall with a Cal-Cutter. - D-

Notes: The announcing quality lifted the match. The color commentary gave the match a boost. This match brought the crowd's mood down.

The Neptune Twins come out for their match against The American Flash and his Masked Patriot. They stop half way and turn around with a look that is a mix of confusion and frustration. The two talk to each other for a moment before going back to the back. After a couple minutes the duo comes out with an oversized baby carriage (or would it be Tiger carriage? :p) with "Jeffi" strapped into it still wearing the Tiger Suit from Unwanted Gifts. - D+

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/NEO/resized/TheAmericanFlash.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/NEO/resized/MaskedPatriot.jpgvs.http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/NEO/resized/JenNeptune.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/NEO/resized/KathyNeptune.jpg

The American Flash and Masked Patriot defeated The Neptune Twins in 6:58 when Masked Patriot defeated Kathy Neptune by pinfall with a Patriot Slam after being detracted by Jefferson Stardust trying to get away. - E-

Notes: The American Flash was really off his game tonight. Masked Patriot was really off his game tonight. The announcing quality lifted the match. The colour commentary gave the match a boost. This match brought the crowd's mood down.

Commissioner Jake Sawyer comes down to the ring as smug as can be. He said that when he said he was going to change NEO forever, he wasn't kidding. "...starting next month a new title, or should I say set of titles will be fought for in an eight team tournament to crown the first ever NEO World Tag Team champions!" - C-

Brandon Smith defeated Jack Napier in 6:35 by pinfall with an Inverted Piledriver. - D-

Notes: Jack Napier was really off his game tonight. Sienna DeVille did some good work at ringside. The announcing quality lifted the match. The color commentary gave the match a boost. This match brought the crowd's mood down.

A replay of Danny Patterson's debut video and his time here at NEO, including his confrontation and match with Dazzling Dave Diamond. - D

Hugh de Aske defeated Arthur Dexter Bradley and Brendan Idol in 11:45 when Hugh de Aske defeated Arthur Dexter Bradley by pinfall with a Cut-Throat Driver. - D+

Notes: The color commentary gave the match a boost.

Dazzling Dave Diamond is backstage, arguing with Amber Allen. Apparently Dazzling Dave Diamond wants to go into the tag team tournament, but Amber Allen has already accepted a title match with Dark Star for next month. Triple D eventually calms down and the two start to game plan for Allen's match with "Dark Star" Erik Strong. - E+

Ultimate Phoenix defeated Frankie Perez in 27:33 by pinfall with a Phoenix Firebird Splash. - C

Notes: Ultimate Phoenix is improving in Rumble skills.

Overall: C-

Show Thoughts: This was a fantastic show to kick off 2010. Phoenix and Perez did there thing. Sure they didn't blow off the roof off like Allen/Deeley, but it was still a solid match none the less. And before anyone notes American Flash and Masked Patriot forming a full time team, I actually thought they had bad chemistry as a team at the time I played and hired two wrestlers to replace them in the tournament. Opps. On the bright side I did find partners for both men. However I'd rather not go any further since I don't want to spoil anything.

Big props to Showtime4Lajf for getting the correctly guessing the card. I knew it was a bit on the predictable side, but apparently man love for Frankie Perez was able to stop everyone from being right. :p I'm also a little bit shocked that no one picked Idol to win the triple threat.

Yay! Phoenix never lets me down:p

Really damn great show. I can't get shows that good with my zero-to-global company yet... :(

Also, you've got Dave Diamond's picture instead of Singh's up there...

Thanks for the kind word...and I have no idea what you are talking about. ;)

End Of The Month: January 2010

End of the Month Notes

• World Importance: 35 of 36

• World Influence: 33 of 36

• Popularity: +1.2% (17.8%) GL, (5%) MA, (5%) TS

• Prestige: +0.1% (13.4%)

○ Worker Costs: $12,683

○ Sponsorship: $18,481

It seems this month was pretty busy for the C-Verse:

• GCG rises to National. Great just what I need. Another promotion that is popular enough to have wrestlers accept touring contracts while already having three PPA contracts.

• Dan Stone Jr. finally gets out of the hell hole that is the AI run USPW and joins GCG on a written deal. Joining Mr. Stone is C-Verse favorite, William Hayes.

• Steve Flash wins 2010 Rip Chord Invitational Tournament.

• I don't know how USPW does it, but after losing Dan Stone Jr. they picked up another Canadian legacy as Alex DeColt signs with the promotion.

• EWA passes me in prestige. How? No idea.

• Elemental, Catherine Quine, and Peter Valentine all decide to retire from wrestling. I'm not sure what's greater, the amount of talent that Elemental and Quine had or the total lack of talent that was Peter Valentine.

• Jesse Christian finally returns to wrestling. This has got to be the long wait I've seen Jesse take before getting back into the wrestling business.

• Eddie Peak defeats Bruce the Giant to win the TCW World Heavyweight title! Eddie Peak still holds one half of the TCW World Tag Team titles with Ino as the Roundhouse Puppy Kickers. I wonder how big of a douche that guy is now that he has two belts.

Now for the NEO news…

• We also signed Duncan Kendall for $600 to replace Reese Paige as our Road Agent, signed a working agreement with USPW, and signed two more wrestlers that will be full time members of the NEO roster.

NEO Changing With The Times

• Giving up a chance to enter the NEO World Tag Team tournament, Amber Allen takes on The Fallen's leader, Dark Star Erik Strong, for the NEO Generation title. Will it be all or nothing for NEO's technical expert?

• As special bonus match, our semi-main event will involve four of the best wrestlers in the world, much less NEO's roster as Brandon Smith, Brendan Idol, Hugh de Aske, and Ultimate Phoenix will be wrestling in a four corner survival.

• The first two Quarter Final matches will also be taking place at our February event. NEO regulars The Neptunes and Sensationally Powerful will be facing AAA's American Joshis (Jaime Quine & Melody Cuthill) and FCW's The Wild Riders (Amo Del Gato & Tigre Salvaje Jr) respectively.

Show Notes: Besides forgetting to bump Amber Allen up to the main event so she didn't get "used too much" I think the show went pretty well. I was kind of hoping Allen/Strong would get a C, but I was predicting a C- card, so it's not a big deal.

On the bright side both of the tag matches went pretty well for our current undercard situation and we were advance storylines without harming the overall grade.

End Of The Month: February 2010

End of the Month Notes

• World Importance: 35 of 36

• World Influence: 33 of 36

• Popularity: +??% (??%) GL, (5%) MA, (5%) TS

• Prestige: +0.1% (13.5%)

• Balance: +$4,475 ($86,682)

○ Worker Costs: $14,394

○ Sponsorship: $13,128

---

Danny Patterson rises to F+ while Fearless Blue falls back down to an F. In a losing effort, Hugh de Aske gets bumped to E+. I guess him being in USPW doesn't hurt either. ;)

I was able to re-signed Erik Strong for $900.

Guide defeats Eddie Peak for the TCW World Heavyweight title in Peak's first defense. It should be noted that Scout is the current TCW International champion.

NOTBPW loses Championship Wrestling

And the culmination of one of the more unlikely super pushes happen this month at TCW Presents Total Wrestling as Jack Marlowe takes the TCW World Heavyweight title from Guide. The 34 year old heavyweight formerly going by the moniker Jungle Jack is has a B+ pop in both the US and Japan, has been averaging B+ matches so far in 2010 including a ridiculous A* trios match that included Tommy Cornell, John Anderson, Wolf Hawkins, Ricky Dale Johnson, and Sean McFly. Surprisingly enough, Jack has never been in the top 100 and the World title is only his 2nd title so far. His first was the TCW International title which he won in the Summer of 2009, beating Genghis Rahn and losing to Guide (wow that's a cool accident by the AI).

With the company making money, but not really enough money to run more than one show a month it's time to start running some dark matches to give my undercard a better chance to improve their skills as well as gain a bit more overness by wrestling more matches. With this in mind I hired two more wrestlers. The first is the rookie Jared Johnson who signed with us for $450 and travel expenses (an American based in Canada…boo!). The second goes to a man I have been meaning to bring into NEO (in fact he was originally going to have Sayeed Ali's spot till I obviously decided on Ali) and that man is Marc Speed. Both men have E- in the Great Lakes (Jared comes in as a E- around the boards and Speed got it through overness overflow).

I thought it was cute when the aging Super Heavyweight, Everest, joined MAW in November 2009. Yeah, it's not so cute when he ends the almost two year reign of Mean Jean Cattley and wins the Mid Atlantic Championship. I wonder if Rip Chord is hitting the sauce again.

NEO March Madness 2010

• Accepting Frankie Perez's open challenge is none other than the cornerstone of NEO, Brandon Smith. This really isn't a surprise as Smith as Smith has stepped to the challenges of the likes of Matthew Keith, Shooter Sean Deeley, and Whippy the Clown.

• The NEO Tag Team tournament continues with more Quarter Final action as the Fallen take on IWC 2.0 and the team of Amber Allen and Dazzling Dave Diamond (a late second replacement for some unknown tag team) takes on a tag team from USPW, Ekuma The Hawaiian Strong Man and Happy Elwood.

Quick Picks

Brandon Smith vs. Frankie Perez

Brendan Idol vs. Jared Johnson

Masked Patriot vs. Jefferson Stardust

Tag Quarter Finals: Allen & Triple D vs. Team USPW

Tag Quarter Finals: The Fallen vs. IWC 2.0

Note: I actidentlly forgot to check the overness for this month which is why you see the questions marks. Opps.

I still like Perez.

Brendan Idol vs. Jared Johnson

Seems Idol is getting a push.

Masked Patriot vs. Jefferson Stardust

This one's a guess, not really sure who is going to win.

Tag Quarter Finals: Allen & Triple D vs. Team USPW

Gotta go with the home fed team.

Tag Quarter Finals: The Fallen vs. IWC 2.0

The Fallen are far more interesting to me.

Commissioner Jake Sawyer says he's been thinking long and hard about what the main event will be at the biggest show of the summer, Novus Ordo Seclorum II. And he's decided that the match is going to be a Triple Threat match for the NEO Generation title! Over the next couple months there will be qualifiers for this match, including a title match next month between Dark Star and Ultimate Phoenix. This brings out Dark Star and Sienna DeVille who are pissed about having to "qualify" for the main event, but Sawyer tells him that if he doesn't want to defend his title next month, he can always forfeit the title right now. The duo are steamed but take Sawyer's words to heart and leaves the ring. Before going to the back, Sawyer turns back to the crowd and mentions that the first qualifier will be tonight's main event, Brandon Smith and Frankie Perez. - D+

Notes: Sienna DeVille helped Dark Star during this segment.

Happy Elwood is improving in Rumble skills.

Before his match, Brendan Idol takes the mic away from our ring announcer before pushing him down. Idol says that last month was a turning point in Idol's life. He says after getting pinned by Ultimate Phoenix that he finally realized why he's been on a down turn as of late. It was that he was wrestling for the fans and not for himself. "Well all that is going to change today. Like all great artists, I am going to wrestle for myself. And like all good sheeple, you will worship me." - D+

Notes: Brendan Idol has now switched to an Arrogant Heel gimmick. It has gotten an initial A rating.

Notes: The color commentary gave the match a boost. Jared Johnson is improving in Performance skills.

Brandon Smith comes down to the ring. He talks about this match was going to just be about seeing who the better man was, but now it's about that and more. This brings out Frankie Perez and he tells Smith that he's going to prove why he's going to be the next NEO Generation champion by beating the former champion fair and square. - D-

Notes: Brandon Smith and Frankie Perez just don't click at all, and it showed in their performances. The announcing quality lifted the match. The color commentary gave the match a boost.

Overall: D-

Show Thoughts: This game is giving me fits. Every time I think I have something going the game seems to throw another monkey wrench into my plans. Let's revisit Smith's chemistry notes shall we. Awful chemistry with Frankie Perez, poor chemistry with Erik Strong, poor chemistry with Kirk Jameson, and poor chemistry with Sean Deeley. Awesome. I think I've got the same virus that J Silver has…

On a positive note, Idol's finished his heel turn and it was awesome. I was also able to set up the main matches up to Novus Ordo Seclorum II. Hopefully TEW won't being throwing anymore surprises in my way till then.

And I guess it wouldn't be a bad show with an incident involving Keith Vegas. The jobber pulled tasteless prank that pissed off the whole locker room. I give him one last chance and get "Fine, it was just a prank." Something tells me I am going to be firing this douche sometime down the future.

I'd also like to thank everyone for voting me the rookie diary of the month (and everyone who didn't but still read my diary too). Looking at the results it looks like a large number of votes came from lurkers, but that's ok as long as you are getting enjoyment from reading my diary. :D

And North Of The Border Pro Wrestling jumps to National again. Can't wait to see them fall back to Cult again in a couple of months when TCW and SWF send them back down to Cult again.

I usually don't care about what happens with my talent trades, but this was pretty cool. Arthur Dexter Bradley got a win over Nadia Snow and Alicia Strong with his tag partner Happy Elwood. It's a shame that nothing really came from it overness wise.

Speaking of Arthur Dexter Bradley, we re-signed him to $450 deal.

And the NEO love fest continues as Jared Johnson and Amber Allen become good friends. It's a good thing I'm not running backstage stuff because I think I would have to start making stuff up. Everyone gets along (sans Vegas of course).

NEO The Star and The Bird

• As the name of the event suggestions, our main event is "Dark Star" Erik Strong defending his title against the Defender of Lucha Libre, Ultimate Phoenix. Can Erik Strong turn away one of the best wrestlers in the world or will Ultimate Phoenix be the one to take the title away from Strong?

• Two months ago Brendan Idol interfered in the Amber Allen/Erik Strong title match, costing Allen the match. Allen's boyfriend, Dazzling Dave Diamond has challenge Idol and Brendan has accepted.

• The World Tag Team tournament continues as The Fallen takes on the American Joshis.

• As a special treat, Brandon Smith will be putting on his The Masked Patriot mask and will joining Masked Patriot and The American Flash to form "Team America" against Startune Productions.

Quick Picks

Notes: The announcing quality lifted the match. The color commentary gave the match a boost.

Post-match Hugh de Aske cuts a promo saying he saw Masked Patriot's boast about being the best young prospect. The young Hungarian laughs and says that statement is a joke and that's he's "the best young swashbuckler in the wrestling seas." He ends his promo stating that in three months time he's going to going to be simply the best wrestler in the world, young or old, when he takes the NEO Generation title. - D

Notes: Sienna DeVille did some good work at ringside. Dark Star is improving in Technical skills.

Overall: D+

Show Thoughts: I think if I would have switched de Aske's match with Blue, I might have pulled off a C-, but I'm not going to complain too much. Storylines were moved and the main event was solid. And for those of you taking notice of the notes, you will see a lot of wrestlers having stale characters. About that, I meant to change them, but always just forgot. My bad.
