USPW: Road Toward National

Recommended Posts

I have decided to make a couple of little changes within the diary for any of my readers who are interested.

The first is that the shows will be posted once a week on Wednesdays and then the pay-per-views (hopefully) on the day that they are supposed to come out, which has generally been Saturday, though they may have to wait until Sunday since I know I have that day off from work.

There are several reasons for this. The first being that this leaves each show up for more feedback, which I hope to be receiving. I Love seeing comments on enjoying this turn or that turn or this move or that move or even on my general writeups and all. The second being that it gives me a week to focus on making a better writeup in general. I'd honestly like to know what people think of my format. I've been tweaking it as seen in my last couple of shows. Thoughts are always welcome.

I will also be doing more backstage writeups that focus on characters who may not have been seen on the show that week. It helps build those characters up who I just didn't quite have room for on the show that week and also may help the build for the matches at the pay-per-views as I plan on doing other backstage things as well, mostly with the men and women in character.

I am going to try to get the prediction list up quickly after the show as well for those who enjoy just coming in to predict.

As always, feedback is welcomed and encouraged.

USPW AMERICAN WRESTLING!

Wednesday Week 2 August 2008

Location: Huntsville Fairgrounds

Attendance: 4,043

Overall Rating: C+

TV Rating: .45

[A video begins playing to kick off the show showing last week...

Shane Sneer: "James Justice is gonna get what he deserves! The Youth Movement is gonna cream him!"

Danny Jillefski: "No, wait, Shane. He's being joined by Bruce The Giant in the ring! Bruce to the rescue once again!"

But that didn't happen. Bruce turned James Justice around and clotheslined him to the ground before hitting a Giant Choke Slam! Bruce stood over James Justice as the show came to a close.]

[inside the arena, some hard-hitting heavy metal music began signalling the entrance of Bruce The Giant but he's not alone!]

Mitch Naess: "Hello everyone and welcome to USPW American Wrestling! We're your brand new broadcast crew: Mitch Naess and Sara Silver. Sara, it looks like we're going to be joined tonight by not only Bruce The Giant but by Danny Jillefski?!?! You don't think he wants his job back, do you?"

Sara Silver: "No, probably not. He's got his own gravy train in the form of the seven foot tall Bruce The Giant! Now, let's shut up because he has something to say!"

Danny Jillefski

"Excuse me, excuse me ladies and gentlemen. Get on your feet and cheer and show the proper respect to the future USPW World Champion Bruce The Giant!"

Mitch Naess: "The fans are definitely not inclined to cheer for Bruce The Giant after what he did last week."

Danny Jillefski

"Now I can see the signs out there in the crowd asking 'Why Bruce Why?' Why did he turn his back on his legend partner James Justice? I'll tell you why: none of the Legends had his back. Every time that Bruce was attacked, no one came into the ring to help him out and he has come out time and time again to help those Legend partners. So if they can't show him the proper respect then he's gonna prove to them why they should, right, Bruce?"

Bruce The Giant

"James Justice, Apple Pie And Wrestling, I crush you like bug!"

Danny Jillefski

"That's right, James. You and Bruce are going one on one at USPW's Apple Pie And Wrestling at the end of the month. That is what Bruce got in order to fight alongside you at the last pay-per-view. And with me by his side how can he lose? He can't and you can take that to the bank!"

[The crowd boos Bruce and Danny as they exit the ring and head to the back and we're set for our opening bout.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/NickyChampion-1.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/SamStrong.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/GiantRedwood.jpg

Nicky Champion w/ Sam Strong vs. Giant Redwood

Mitch Naess: "WOW! Another big surprise in that Nicky Champion is accompanied down to the ring by Sam Strong!"

Sara Silver: "What is he doing down there? He's just going to cheat to help Nicky win!"

Mitch Naess: "You better be careful and remember he DID hire you."

[These two showed good chemistry in the ring with one another and that helped to lift the match. Nicky dominated over Giant Redwood to applause from the man at ringside, the USPW Owner Sam Strong! Nicky finished off Redwood with the Hawkeye Hammer and got the pinfall.]

Winner: Nicky Champion

Match Rating: D

Mitch Naess: "A major win here for Nicky Champion here on USPW American Wrestling!"

Sara Silver: "Yes, but he's got company!"

[Nicky and Sam are playing to the crowd when they get attacked from behind by Joss Thompson and Kirk Jameson! Joss hits Nicky with the Clean Cutter and Kirk hits a brainbuster on Sam Strong! Joss and Kirk shake hands and then raise their arms to boos from the crowd!]

[Once the ring is cleared, the crowd doesn't know how to respond as some church organ music begins to play and a brand new wrestler walks out to make his debut here on USPW American Wrestling...

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/TravisCentury_alt2.jpg

The gentleman walks down to the ring, waving to the crowd before stepping inside and beginning to speak.]

Travis Century

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, sinners and, well, as I look around this congregation all I can see are the sinners out there."

[Now the crowd nows what to do: BOO!]

Travis Century

"I am Travis Century and United States Pro Wrestling is filled with as many sinners as I see out there right now. That is why I have come to this promotion. I have come to cleanse the USPW of all of it's sinners and bring the gold back to the Century Church. And each and every one of you can help. The offering plate will be passed around during this American Wrestling show and we will be collecting for the Century Church. Give until it hurts and then give some more! The Century Church will take everything you have! Have a nice day!"

[Travis begins humming the tune to 'God Is In His Holy Temple' and exits the ring as that song begins to play and some music from Poltergeist 2 plays in the background as he heads to the back.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/ZeusMaxmillion.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/FreddieDatsun.jpg

Zeus Maxmillion vs. Freddie Datsun

[These two had a pretty good match back and forth with the announcers really hyping Freddie Datsun as the true American Everyman. The large Zeus Maxmillion showed a lot here but in the end Datsun hit the Patriot Press and got the pinfall victory.]

Winner: Freddie Datsun

Match Rating: D

Mitch Naess: "What a big win for Freddie Datsun."

Sara Silver: "Yeah but he's not gonna have a chance against Shooter Sean Deeley."

Mitch Naess: "Speaking of..."

[shooter Sean Deeley came into the ring and attacked Freddie Datsun with a chair! He hooked Datsun's arm in the chair and stomped on it! The crowd booed as Deeley held up the USPW World Television Title belt! What a disgrace!]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/CherryBomb_alt2.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/TamaraMcFly.jpg

Cherry Bomb vs. Tamara McFly

[A match that brought the crowd's mood down. But luckily the match itself lasted less than four minutes. Cherry Bomb dominated and defeated Tamara McFly with the Tiger Bomb known as the Cherry Bomb.]

Winner: Cherry Bomb

Match Rating: D-

[backstage, the cameras caught up with USPW World Champion James Justice. Justice looked into the camera with a stern and serious look.]

James Justice

"Bruce, weren't you always the one saying in the locker room that you could take care of yourself? Weren't you the one who said that you are the unstoppable force of USPW? But there's one thing you've never been able to do: that's beat me. Every time we have stepped inside the ring I've had my hand raised at the end. And we have a match coming up at USPW Apple Pie And Wrestling? How about I up the ante a little bit? How about we make it a Last Man Standing match? That's right, Bruce, at USPW Apple Pie And Wrestling, I am going to slay the giant for good!"

[James looks into the camera for a few more moments before turning and walking away.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/ShooterSeanDeeley.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/JenniferHeat.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/ArtReed.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/BlondeBombshell_alt1.jpg

USPW World Television Title Match

Shooter Sean Deeley w/ Jennifer Heat defends vs. Art Reed w/ Blonde Bombshell

[A USPW World Television Title defense. The Shooter is feeling good after the attack on Freddie Datsun earlier and this was a technical clinic between these two officiated by new USPW official: Bret Graveson. The lack of real popularity of either of these two hurt the match some. But it picked up when a catfight occured at ringside between Blonde Bombshell and Jennifer Heat. Deeley used this to his advantage, able to hook a distracted Reed in the Front Choke Lock and got the submission victory.]

Winner: Shooter Sean Deeley

Match Rating: D+

[And we cut backstage to where Peter Valentine is stretching and warming up for his match tonight with Madman Boone. Steve Flash enters the picture, patting Valentine on the back.]

Steve Flash

"Good luck on your match tonight, Peter."

Peter Valentine

"Thanks, Steve. I appreciate it."

Steve Flash

"I hear they've made a match for us at Apple Pie And Wrestling. The two of us against Jack Avatar and Champagne Lover."

Peter Valentine

"Just don't get in my way, Steve."

[Peter finishes getting ready and heads out of the locker room with Steve watching his back.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/MadmanBoone_alt1.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/PeterValentine-1.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/SamStrong.jpg

Madman Boone vs. Peter Valentine w/ Sam Strong

[both of these two men were off their game tonight and it really brought down the crowd's mood. Madman Boone was in full zombie mode and tried to take bites out of Peter Valentine at random intervals but Valentine fought him off for the most part. With Sam Strong's encouragement at ringside, Valentine hit Boone with a Heart Breaker shoulderbreaker and got the 3 count!]

Winner: Peter Valentine

Match Rating: D-

[Following the match, Jack Avatar and Champagne Lover came running out and attacked Peter Valentine and Sam Strong! Lover held Valentine's arms while Avatar took in a few shots before the attack was interrupted by the presence of Steve Flash, who ran off the two Youth Movement members!]

Mitch Naess: "We've had a great show so far, haven't we, Sara?"

Sara Silver: "Great other than having to sit next to you and listen to you sing the praises of guys like James Justice. How could you ever consider him to be a real friend to a guy like Bruce The Giant anyway?"

Mitch Naess: "Well, obviously, they're not friends anymore. But before we get to the main event, it's time to announce the main event for next week and it's a great one!"

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/Liberty.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/JumboJackson_alt7.jpg

Mitch Naess: "James Justice will be taking on Jumbo Jackson! What a match! It remains to be seen if the USPW World Title belt will be on the line."

Sara Silver: "It won't be because I am predicting that tonight Acid walks away with the title!"

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/Liberty.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/SamStrong.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/Acid_alt2.jpg

USPW World Title Match

James Justice w/ Sam Strong defends vs. Acid

[And it's main event time! Acid broke out a very special mask for the occassion though he's still not entirely used to going it alone again. But this match lifted the crowd as the two traded punches in the center of the ring. When acid had the advantage, he used his quick pace and high flying skills. He hit several moves off the turnbuckles, like a split-legged moonsault and a top rope legdrop but could only get a two count.

James Justice fired away on his comeback, hitting Acid with a spinebuster and an elbow drop! The USPW World Champion even went up top but got caught by Acid with a body slam! Sam Strong offered emotional support at ringside but he was definitely looking rather beat up at the moment from all the attacks made on him. Acid went up top and leaped with an Acid Rain Bomb but Justice moved out of the way! Justice hooked Acid quickly and dropped him with a Liberation Slam, getting the pin at 13:45 for his twentieth title defense!]

Winner: James Justice

Match Rating: B

[bruce's music began to play as James Justice celebrated and Bruce The Giant and Danny Jillefski came down to the ring. James met Bruce with punches but Bruce shrugged them off and headbutted down James Justice! Danny Jillefski slipped over to Sam Strong and kept him from interfering as Bruce laid the USPW World Title belt inside the ring and gave James Justice a Giant Choke Slam on the belt! Bruce and Danny stood tall while Sam checked on James Justice and the show came to a close.]

Mitch Naess: "Bruce The Giant with a despicable attack on James Justice here tonight!"

Sara Silver: "Things are looking better and better for Jumbo Jackson next week!"

[The roster of United States Pro Wrestling is gathered within an empty auditorium space, sitting in the rafters. The Towers of Power are sitting together, Youth Movement are talking amongst themselves, Jim Force and Java Force are having an almost violent discussion over whose merchandise should be sold first and Jack Avatar has just stepped in front of the large television screen.]

Jack Avatar

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for coming on such short notice. I'm not exactly sure what this is about but a videotape was delivered to my office the other day along with a note and a rather large sum of money. The note said that this is to be played to the entire roster of USPW. That is why you are all gathered here today. Without further adue, here is the videotape."

[Jack pressed play and the screen went fuzzy. A distorted voice began to speak.]

Voice

"Please do not attempt to adjust your television set. My identity is being kept secret for reasons that will become clear with my statement. Now I didn't think that there was anything on the face of the earth that would push me to do what I am about to do right now. But James Justice you have pushed me about as far as you are going to push. Sitting here on my desk is $25,000 and this will go to any human being that can eliminate James Justice from professional wrestling. Bruce The Giant, you have a World Title match with James Justice coming up, you can do it! Jumbo Jackson, you beat Bruce to the title match, it's all yours if you can eliminate Justice for me! Peter Valentine, I know you can use the funds! I don't care who does it! Just take the damn money! It's right here for you! I want rid of Justice!"

[Jack turned the video off and shook his head.]

Jack Avatar

"Sorry about that, James. I didn't know what it was."

[James looks around and the video seemed to have created quite a stir within this auditorium. James is smart in the fact that he slips down to the front and slips out of the auditorium without a word to anyone. Jack frowns as he watches James leave. Who could it be?]

<p>So right now, the diary is at a crossroads and I am asking you, the fans, where you want to see this diary turn.</p><p> </p><p>

A) Remain loyal to USPW</p><p>

B) Apply At Another Promotion (BHOTWG, CZCW, EWA, MOSC, MPWF, Warrior Engine) Name the promotion as well.</p><p>

C) Start own new promotion (Name Difficulty)</p><p>

D) Resign from USPW and move forward a bit and see what happens in the future and look to get on with another promotion sometime in a few months.</p>

USPW APPLE PIE AND WRESTLING!

Saturday Week 4 August 2008

Location: Louisiana Auditorium

Attendance: 9,349

Overall Rating: C

PPV Buyrate: .56

[Mitch Naess and Sara Silver open the show with a greeting and a thank you to everyone for joining USPW for Apple Pie And Wrestling and then the attention turns to the main event match where James Justice will defend his USPW World Title belt but against who...?

Suddenly, the crowd stirred as 'The Entertainer' began to play. At the announcer's booth, Sara Silver's eyes went wide and she moved robotically up to climb up on the announcer's booth, beginning to gyrate her hips! The men in the crowd got into it as she flinged her glasses into the crowd and then began unbuttoning her blouse as she danced on top of the announce booth. The blouse was dropped onto the ground before the music stopped and she moved to sit back down beside Mitch, whose eyes were completely as wide as saucers and she gave him a confused look and remarked about there being a draft here.]

Peter Valentine and Steve Flash w/ Sam Strong and Blonde Bombshell vs. Jack Avatar and Champagne Lover w/ Jennifer Heat

[Valentine and Avatar were both off their games but the crowd was still into this opening matchup here. Steve Flash looked good in the match. After some well-timed interference by Jennifer Heat, Champagne Lover hit Peter Valentine with the Champagne Sunrise and got the three count.]

Winners: Jack Avatar and Champagne Lover

The Towers of Power defend vs. Jim Force and Java Force

[The crowd was solidly behind the challengers in this match. Danny Rushmore was off his game, while Mick Muscles looked good inside the ring. Rushmore and Muscles worked well as a team, using their power against both members of the Forces but especially Java. Java was hit with a double sideslam and double elbowdrop. The finish came when Jim was tagged in on a hot tag and went ballastic on both members of the Towers of Power. Java came back in and press-slammed Mick Muscles over the top rope to the floor. Jim Force hit Danny Rushmore with the Full Force and we have NEW USPW World Tag Team Champions!]

Winners: Jim Force and Java Force

Match Rating: D

[Jim and Java took the belts in celebration, giving each other a chest bump that nearly knocked Jim to the ground but they both laughed and then pointed at each other with wide eyes as Matthew came up behind Jim and Greg behind Java. Stereo Chopblocks on the new USPW World Tag Team Champs and then Stereo Figure Fours! The crowd booed as the Keith Twins stretched the legs of the Forces and the hold was finally broken and the Keith Twins made a symbol at their waist that they want the belts.]

Art Reed w/ Blonde Bombshell vs. Travis Century

[A decent wrestling bout. At least it didn't bring the crowd down. When Century had the advantage he began spouting off at the mouth to Blonde Bombshell, who slapped him. Century raised an arm to slap her back but Reed grabbed it and lifted him up, connecting with a Death Valley Driver for a two count only. As the match continued, Century gained the advantage and hit Reed with the Salvation and got the three count.]

Winner: Travis Century

Match Rating: D+

[Following the match, Century got on the microphone and talked about the Century Church again and asked for more donations, thanking the ones who have already done so and condemning those who have stolen from the collection plate.]

[A highlight recap of two matches that took place earlier tonight occured next. In those matches, Jumbo Jackson pinned Mario Heroic with a Jumbo Avalanche in a D match and Fumihiro Ota defeated Acid with the Ninja Strike in a D+ match.]

[The crowd cheered the arrival of James Justice. Justice got in the ring and talked about how he ran off Bruce The Giant from ever competing in a USPW ring again. Then he turned his focus to the man who will be facing tonight. Who will it be? The crowd stirred behind Justice and a man walked out, sliding over the guardrail.

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/RandallHopkirk_alt.jpg

The man slid inside the ring and speared Justice to the mat, raining punches down on him! The crowd booed this man, who removed the hat and handkerchief to reveal...

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/RandallHopkirk.jpg

RANDALL HOPKIRK!!

He's come here from TCW! What a huge shocker! And HE is gonna be the opponent for James Justice later on tonight???]

USPW Women's Title Match

Alicia Strong defends vs. Stephanie Wade

[Our Women's title match here that went back and forth. The crowd was into it but they got slightly distracted when 'The Entertainer' began to play again and Sara Silver climbed on the announce booth, gyrating again. She began unbuttoning her slacks when the song went off and she climbed back down. Back in the ring, Wade went for a Super Kick but Alicia ducked and hit the Strong Arm Tactic, getting the pinfall victory.]

Winner: Alicia Strong

USPW World Television Title Match

Shooter Sean Deeley w/ Jennifer Heat vs. Freddie Datsun

[Freddie Datsun was off his game this evening and that definitely hurt the match quality. Deeley showed off his technical skill against Datsun while Datsun used the crowd's momentum to fire back against the USPW World Television Champion. Deeley focused on the arm, even using the ringpost as a weapon. Jennifer Heat did certain interference to keep Datsun's momentum down and Deeley locked on a Seated Stretch Armbar to get the submission victory.]

Winner: Shooter Sean Deeley

Match Rating: D+

Nicky Champion and Sam Strong vs. Joss Thompson and Kirk Jameson w/ Jennifer Heat

[Our semi-main event here had the crowd all fired up. Jennifer Heat had interfered in several matches so the crowd was all ready to her get some comeuppance and Sam Strong and Nicky Champion are definitely crowd favorites. Sam Strong looked good out there even as the two heels kept him cut off from his side of the ring. Nicky tried to get the tag several times but Joss and Kirk kept Sam back. Sam did get the tag once but the referee didn't see it. After a double clothesline, though, the hot tag came and in came Nicky Champion!

He took down Joss and Kirk with right hands and when Jennifer Heat jumped on the apron, he kissed her! She looked shocked and fell off the apron and Nicky turned, knocking down Kirk Jameson with the Hawkeye Hammer! Sam kept Joss from interfering and Nicky got the three count!]

Winner: Nicky Champion and Sam Strong

USPW World Title Match

James Justice w/ Sam Strong defends vs. Randall Hopkirk w/ Danny Jillefski

[And it's main event time! Sam Strong, even after competing earlier, came out with James Justice and the crowd was shocked when Danny Jillefski came out with Randall Hopkirk! The crowd got into this match as it was a good brawl that went back and forth. Justice went for the Liberation Slam early but Hopkirk got out of it with elbow strikes. Hopkirk used some interference from Danny Jillefski that ended with a shoving match between him and Sam Strong! But Hopkirk had the advantage, dropping Justice with a DDT! He got a two count. Danny Jillefski blindsided Sam Strong later during the match, pushing him against the metal guardrail!

Justice gained the advantage shortly thereafter. He went for another Liberation Slam and hit it! Justice made the cover: 1 --- 2 --- foot on the ropes! Justice got angry and got up, shoving the referee and Hopkirk grabbed him from behind --- GERMAN SUPLEX! The referee dropped down: 1 --- 2 --- 3!! But both men's shoulders are down. What's going on?!?!]

Winner: ???

Match Rating: B-

[Referee Jez McArthuer begins conferring with Mitch Naess as the Keith Twins jump the guardrail! The Keith Twins attack James Justice from behind! The three men even go outside and knock Jez McArthuer down! Matthew Keith grabs two chairs and slides back in the ring, handing one to his brother and waiting --- CON-CHAIR-TO! James Justice drops and Greg Keith hands the USPW World Title belt to Randall Hopkirk. Hopkirk raises it to boos from the crowd. 'The Entertainer' begins to play again and as Sara Silver gets up, the show comes to a close. But who is the USPW World Champion?]

Overall Rating: C-

TV Rating: .40

[A video showing highlights from USPW Apple Pie And Wrestling is shown with a focus on the main event match where James Justice and Randall Hopkirk wrestled to a double pinning situation and Justice was taken out by Hopkirk and the Keith Twins.]

[Then inside the arena, Mitch Naess and Sara Silver welcomed everyone to USPW American Wrestling! They hyped the tournament bouts tonight, especially our main event of Peter Valentine against Jack Avatar before moving to our opening bout.]

#1 Contender to USPW World Television Title Match

Freddie Datsun vs. Greg Keith w/ Danny Jillefski

[A decent bout to open up the show as both men looked to move on to a USPW World Television Title bout. Greg had a spot where his twin came out and Datsun didn't know who to attack so he just went after both of them! The ending came as Datsun had the momentum and he was stopped by a belt shot from Shooter Sean Deeley, causing the DQ!]

Winner: Freddie Datsun

Match Rating: D+

[backstage, Sam Strong begins talking about the tournament when he is interrupted by Captain USA running across the screen and waving a large American flag! Sam tries to start again and again USA comes across. Sam clears his throat and Captain USA stops, beginning a 'USA, USA, USA' chant that the crowd in the arena echoes! Captain USA looks toward the camera and gives a big thumbs up and Sam just shakes his head.]

[Our first match that brought the crowd's mood down is only our second match of the evening. Hopkirk dominated the match and the fiery effort of Tribal Warrior couldn't stop him. Hopkirk hit the Randallism, a back suplex into a pinfall attempt to get the win.]

Winner: Randall Hopkirk

The Towers of Power vs. Champagne Lover and Kirk Jameson w/ Jennifer Heat

[Champagne Lover was really off his game tonight but it was still a decent match here. Not the best and not the worst. Towers of Power used some good double-team moves here and the focus was on Kirk Jameson. Danny Rushmore hit Jameson with the Atomic Boot and got the pinfall to make up for their title loss last night.]

Winners: The Towers of Power

Match Rating: D+

[backstage, Peter Valentine is walking and a door opens, smashing him in the face! Valentine stumbles backward and Jack Avatar peeks around the door, smiling as he sees Valentine holding his head. He closes the door again and as Valentine tries to walk by again, the door opens and smashes him in the head several times this time before Avatar swings around the door and makes a face at Valentine before turning and heading off in the opposite direction.]

USPW World Title Tournament Round 1

Steve Flash w/ Blonde Bombshell vs. Larry Wood

[A pretty short match and Steve Flash was off his game in this one. Larry Wood tried to use his power advantage...and it worked! Wood got Flash in a bear hug and nearly got the submission win but Flash was able to make it to the ropes. Flash then dodged Wood at every attempt, using his speed to wear down Wood. Flash hit Wood with a Flash Bang out of nowhere to get the win.]

Winner: Steve Flash

Match Rating: D+

[backstage, Sam Strong was checking on Peter Valentine. Valentine was in near tears as he told Sam what Avatar did. Sam just shook his head and comforted Valentine with the fact that he is going to get Avatar in the ring tonight!]

USPW World Title Tournament Round 1

Ernie Turner vs. Joss Thompson w/ Jennifer Heat

[Joss Thompson's performance in this match really stood out as being great. Ernie Turner showed a little bit within this match, even hitting Thompson with a Piledriver and getting a two count! Thompson fought back and was able to roll up Turner and used his feet on the ropes to get the three count!]

Winner: Joss Thompson

Match Rating: D+

[After the match, Joss and Jennifer got on the microphone and began speaking about the USPW World Title Tournament. Joss put himself over as being the front-runner for winning the tournament. If anyone else thinks that they can win the tournament? THEY'RE WRONG!]

[shane Sneer and Jumbo Jackson came down to the ring following the speech by Joss Thompson. Sneer said that next week will begin the USPW $5,000 Body Slam Challenge! If anyone can body slam Jumbo Jackson here, they will get $5,000 from the Sneer Corporation!]

USPW World Title Tournament Round 1

Jack Avatar vs. Peter Valentine w/ Sam Strong

[These two have great chemistry in the ring and it showed within their performances. Valentine was really off his game tonight and visibly tiring toward the end. It was a good back and forth match that started with some shoves by Valentine. Valentine seemed still upset about what happened earlier. After a punch, Valentine slipped out of the ring and complained to Sam Strong, who motioned him back inside the ring.

The match went back and forth with the crowd really getting behind Valentine. Valentine did grow stronger as the match went on. He was able to hit Avatar with the Heart Breaker shoulderbreaker to get the win and advance as the show comes to a close.]

Winner: Peter Valentine

From USPWWrestling.com...

Due to the recent loss of talent, both through releasings and signing written contracts with other companies, USPW is proud to announce the signings of several tag teams looking to compete here in USPW:

The Tennessee Outlaws (Blackjack Robbins and Whisky Jack)

The Maryland Alliance (Brady Prince and Buck Graham)

The Rock City Stars (Rockin' Ryan Turner and Stan 'The Man' Manna)

We wish them each the best of luck here in USPW.

TCW continued their hiring spree with several more hires this week, including:

Mario Heroic

Bruce The Giant

Jez McArthuer

Lee Wright

Kirk Jameson

Of note, of course, are Mario, Bruce, Jez and Kirk as each had runs here in USPW. Negotiations had been ongoing to bring Bruce back but fell through when he was offered the TCW contract. We here at USPW seem to be a bit of a training ground for both TCW and SWF, especially TCW as they have about 7 or 8 wrestlers who travelled through USPW on their way there.
