April 4, 2001...

If you seen this coming...you're a damn liar.

Taking a stroll down my cobblestone driveway I held my hand up to glare the LA sun from eyes as I went down to get the mail. I had absolutely no idea what was to greet my eyes this morning, sure I expected the normal bill or random advertisement promoting some sort of useless piece of garbage that I wouldn't need. But I quite the surprise.

"Let's see...what we got here?"

"Junk..."

"Junk..."

"More Junk..."

"Bill..."

"Bill..."

"The Wrestling Observer..."

This was surprising, I never ordered any issues of The Wrestling Observer, someone must've dropped it off in my mailbox, knowing that I'd probably want to read it. While walking back up the driveway, I quickly looked at the headline, and immediately I chuckled at the coverage on my accomplishment...

'WCW Buyout! Who's the new owner?! Read WO's EXCLUSIVE Interview!'

After bringing in the daily mail I plopped down in my balcony overlooking the Santa Monica Mountains and then flipped open the magazine to the cover story...

Meet Preston Scott, Entrepreneur, Tycoon, WCW Owner

By Dave Meltzer

Last week, World Championship Wrestling was pronounced dead in the wrestling world, the #2 promotion in the world finally went under due to lack of financial backing, as Ted Turner left the company. If then you were thinking that there might still be hope with the creative genious of Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo behind the scenes, you're wrong, both Bischoff and Russo both left WCW. Which then jumpstarted the rumor mill, with everyone believing that WWF Chairman Vince McMahon had acquired World Championship Wrestling himself, and with his son Shane proclaiming the announcement on Monday Night RAW, it seemed that this was most likely the case.

Well, it's not.

Meet Preston Scott, self-made tycoon in the oil business and owner of Scott & Mason Oil CO, the new owner of World Championship Wrestling. Out of anybody that anyone could possible think of of taking over a wrestling promotion. Scott would be pretty much on the ass-end of the list. So how did this entrepreneur acquire WCW? More importantly, why would he acquire WCW? I sat down with Mr. Scott in an exclusive interview for The Wrestling Observer.

DM: So I heard that you were a big fan of wrestling in the 80's?

PS: Absolutely, when I wasn't focused on running my operation back in Texas, I'd be pretty much watching or reading up on professional wrestling back in it's heyday.

DM: Any promotions or wrestlers that you'd follow?

PS: To be honest, I never really followed the Federation and Vince's new Sports-Entertainment style, I was a fan of classic wrestling, such as the Jim Crockett Promotions and AWA. I was a big Steamboat fan, not to mention Ric Flair and Roddy Piper. I didn't need people telling storylines outside of the ring and into a microphone, I also enjoyed watching people tell stories in the ring.

DM: Is this the direction you'd want to re-push WCW? More wrestling, less talking?

PS: That'd be my ideal idea, my vision for WCW is for it to re-become the top promotion in the whole world, and I don't feel that having stupid gimmicks and crap storylines would really get us there.

DM: So it'd be more of a realistic-style promotion? No 'Shockmaster'?

PS: That's right, no stupid gimmicks.

DM: So without backing without Ted Turner, who's been in the running to have WCW broudcast on Television?

PS: We've been working on deals with such stations as Bravo! and E!, but only time will tell to see if we've gotten those deals.

DM: Any word on the current WCW roster? Has anyone left?

PS: Some old workers for WCW immediately left after they heard the company was going under, but we've managed to retain a couple, even add a couple of surprise faces.

DM: Any word on who?

PS: I'll let you all figure that on the first new episode of Monday Night Nitro.

DM: MNN's coming back? Am I smelling a rebirth of the Monday Night Wars?

PS: No, we'd know that while taking babysteps out of the new formation of the company that we'd get dominated in a head-to-head war with WWF. So, we're aiming for a later timeslot.

DM: By we...who else do you mean?

PS: The two men who helped me acquire WCW, Ricky Steamboat and Ric Flair, those two will help our new head booker (who'll be announced next week in a press conference) with the booking decision for the new company.

DM: Well certainly I'd like to wish you good luck on your mission to resurrect WCW.

PS: Thank you.

[]

I cracked a smile and then laid down the newsletter, I then went to go freshen up for my upcoming press conference to announce World Championship Wrestling's new head booker.

Okay, just keep your cool...interact with the audience...keep to the speech...stare into the camera...BAH! I can't do this!

"Everything okay?"

Preston Scott, WCW Chairman then walked in and gave me an assuring pat on the shoulder.

"Trust me you'll do fine."

Yeah, that's easy for him to say, he's always had some sort of media coverage on him at all times, though nearly not enough as those A-List celebs down in Hollywood, still, he couldn't go anywhere without someone not pointing him out. I gulped then let out a quick response...

"Sure, thanks sir."

I still couldn't believe that I was chosen as the new head booker for World Championship Wrestling, I guess it may've been my style of booking, all straight-forward matches with only some promos, or it may've been my previous experience, after all, I was the owner and head booker of my own promotion in the Northeastern United States that only I'd say reached regional success (but still it was a hell of a run.) Or it could've been that...

"And introducing...Mr. Patrick Scott."

I was his son...

And a son who had big plans for his father's newly acquired company.

Webcast of World Championship Wrestling Press Conference

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn229/Odidjian/WCW.gif

Patrick: Good afternoon and I'd like to thank you all for coming today. First off, I'd want to kick this thing off by saying that it's an honor to be a member of World Championship Wrestling, arguably one of the most historic wrestling promotions in the entire world, it trult is. When my father offered me the oppurtunity to be the head of the creative department, I did not even hesitate to take him up on that deal. From here on out, my mission as WCW Head Booker will be to bring you the most entertaining wrestling action you've ever seen, no need for stupid gimmicks or stupid twists, just good ol' wrestling that you've all come to expect.

I'm pleased to announce as well that WCW will return with quite possibly one of it's most star-studded rosters ever, with names such as Booker T, Sting, Kevin Nash, Scott Steiner, and newest acquisition Shawn Michaels. I guarentee you you are not going to want to miss a single minute of WCW action. I'm also excited to announce that WCW will be back on television starting in May on Bravo!, which will now host episodes of Monday Night Nitro from the 10-11:30EST timeslot.

Lastly, I'd like to introduce the two members other than myself on the WCW Booking Commitee, please help me introduce these two legends of the business, Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat and 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair!

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/RickySteamboat.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/RicFlair.jpg

Both members of the booking team come out to a good amount of applause, the attention turns back to Patrick.

Patrick: Ladies and gentlemen you are witnessing history, with the combined minds of Steamboat, Flair, and myself, and the financial backing of my father. World Championship Wrestling is going to new heights, higher than it's ever gone before, WCW will once again become the premier wrestling promotion of the world!

Standing ovation then occurs which seems to take Patrick by shock. The telecast of the press conference then ends with the WCW logo proudly displayed on the screen.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, that didn't go as bad as I expected, I then head back to my office and take a long sip from my water bottle, an unexpected knock at the door and then my father walks in.

"Hey dad, what's up?"

"Just like to congratulate you on getting through that smoothly.

"Gee thanks."

"Don't mention it son, say it's around dinnertime, care to head out and go grab a steak?"

"Man...that sounds good but I can't."

"And why not?"

...

"I've got to get to work."

I took another proud glance at the final roster sheet, it was expensive, but well worth forking over the cash. I definitely have a great feeling about where this roster will take us, now it's time to see if they'll get us places. Dad had some people ink up a PPV deal with inDemand, who'll broudcast our first PPV on the 4th Sunday of May. As of now it's dubbed WCW Legacy, a name that Steamboat pitched during our first meeting. With only 28 days remaining 'til the big show, I had to come up with a card that would not only be entertaining, but go down in history as being one of the most action-packed cards ever.

And so I went to work...

Just two short months after World Championship Wrestling was put on hiatus by it's former owners, it is back with new management and ready to take off where it left off, at the top of the professional wrestling business. Some faces on the roster may be different this time around, but we promise that the intensity and ferocity of the roster will be even greater then the last time we were around. You will all remember the date May 28th 2001, the day that World Championship Wrestling re-took the reigns as the world's premier wrestling promotion.

WCW: Legacy ...it all starts here...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chavo Guerrero Jr, Elix Skipper, Jamie Noble v Shane Helms & The Filthy Animals

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/ChavoGuerreroJr.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/ElixSkipper.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/JamieNoble.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/ShaneHelms.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/BillyKidman.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/ReyMysterioJr.jpg

The first official match for the new WCW will showcase one of our greatest features of the promotion, our Cruiserweight division. Though these wrestlers might be light on the weight scales, they match or even surpass the rest of the roster in the intensity of their work. WCW Cruiserweight Champion Shane Helms will tag with the Filthy Animals (Billy Kidman & Rey Mysterio Jr) to face against Jamie Noble, Chavo Guerrero Jr, and Elix Skipper in what looks to be an entertaining bout. Each wrestler brings his own unique style to this match-up and each have lightning-fast reflexes so don't blink when this match is on, or you just might miss all of the action.

Toro v Bam Bam Bigelow

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/Toro.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/BamBamBigelow.jpg

Bam Bam Bigelow might have his work cut out for him against newcomer Toro, a man who has been said to show no mercy in the ring. The masked Toro might have his own work cut for himself as well, as Bam Bam has done so much for himself to be a considered a major threat. These two brutes are going to have to go all-out against each other to see who prevails in this one. Will the veteran or rookie prevail? Watch Legacy to find out.

#1 Contendership to WCW Tag Team Titles

Totally Buff v KroniK

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/BuffBagwell.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/LexLuger.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/BrianAdams.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/BryanClark.jpg

WCW Tag Team Champions Chuck Palumbo & Sean O'Haire, otherwise known as the Natural Born Thrillers should be grateful they don't have to defend their WCW Tag Team Championships tonight. Why you might ask? Look at the the teams they'd potentially have to face! Buff Bagwell & 'The Total Package' Lex Luger aka Totally Buff, or KroniK, consisting of Brian Adams and Bryan Clark. Whoever wins this #1 Contendership match will get the honor to face the NBTs on the first return episode of Monday Night Nitro the next night! Expect a hard-fought match between these four powerhouses, as they've got a lot on the line in their first match back in WCW.

WCW United States Championship

Booker T © v Lance Storm

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/WCWUnitedStates.jpg

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/BookerT.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/LanceStorm.jpg

Even though he won't be defending his World Heavyweight Championship on Legacy, Booker T will still be in action defending his United States Championship. And his opponent? WCW's resident Canadian technical machine, Lance Storm. As you may or may not know, Scott Steiner is still mad over his WCW World Title loss on the last episode of Nitro and he may possibly make an appearance on behalf of Storm. Booker better make sure he watch his back as an attack may come at any time, even with all of this can the Champ prevail? Order Legacy now on InDemand to enjoy this great match-up!

#1 Contendership to World Heavyweight Championship @ Great American Bash

Sting v Shawn Michaels v Goldberg v Scott Steiner

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/Sting.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/ShawnMichaels.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/Goldberg.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/ScottSteiner.jpg

In the final match of WCW Legacy, the #1 Contendership for Booker T's WCW World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line between four of the finest members of the WCW roster. Scott Steiner, previous WCW World Champion, will be deadset on reclaiming what he believes is rightfully his come Great American Bash. But not if Goldberg or Sting have anything to say about that. Or how about newest WCW acquisition Shawn Michaels? Who's going to make his return to the squared circle this Sunday, and with a BIG prize at stake. Whoever wins this fatal four-way will go on to headline the biggest wrestling Pay-Per-View of the year, who will get that honor? Order WCW Legacy now to find out, see you all on Sunday...

Prediction List

----------------------

Chavo Guerrero Jr, Elix Skipper, Jamie Noble v Shane Helms & The Filthy Animals

Toro v Bam Bam Bigelow

Totally Buff v KroniK - #1 Contendership to WCW Tag Team Titles

Booker T © v Lance Storm - WCW United States Championship

Sting v Shawn Michaels v Goldberg v Scott Steiner - #1 Contendership to WCW World Heavyweight Championship

Gotta keep the Cruiserweight champion looking strong here.

Toro v Bam Bam Bigelow

I am too big of a BBB (may he rest in peace) to vote against him. Toro looks interesting enough but Bam Bam is too much of a monster.

Totally Buff v KroniK - #1 Contendership to WCW Tag Team Titles

I hate Buff Bagwell after NWO got their hands on him. After that, never found him entertaining or anything. I hate him. Too bad for Lex Luger here cuz I hate his partner. Therefore, Kronik gets my vote. BTW, did I mention that I hate Buff Bagwell.

Booker T © v Lance Storm - WCW United States Championship

*sniff sniff* I smell shenanigans from Big Poppa Pump leading to another US title run for Lance.

Sting v Shawn Michaels v Goldberg v Scott Steiner - #1 Contendership to WCW World Heavyweight Championship

Goldberg almost had my vote because this is Goldberg in WCW not AJPW but then again--HBK! HBK! HBK! HBK!

Pre-Show

The Natural Born Thrillers def. Norman Smiley & AJ Styles D+

- Had to put the Tag Team Champs in action, so minds as well put them in the pre-show position to keep them fresh. Didn't get quite the rating I wanted, but as much ring time as I can get AJ Styles the happier I am. Planning on keeping AJ in dark matches for now until I can build him up to be a legitimate threat in the Cruiserweight Division.

5:24

Mike Awesome def. Hugh Morris C-

- Wanted to just throw a couple of midcarders into the 2nd dark match slot and see how'd they come out. Predicted a better match rating than this, but I'll take it over the tag match. Don't have any real plans for these two as of now but just decided to put them into action.

Main Show

A video appears to kick off the show of past WCW memories, primarily focusing on the Monday Night Wars. The 30-second video then ends with a slo-mo black-and-white shot of Booker T proudly holding up his WCW World Heavyweight Championship. The video then fades out as five red words then pop up on screen.

Legacy: It all begins here...

Back to a live feed of the Staples Center where red and blue pyro explode around the entrance ramp before one big hit of pyro, the new TitanTron then turns to a WCW logo as we're taken to our broudcast table at ringside with our two broudcasters, Tony Schiavone and 'The Immortal' Hulk Hogan.

Tony: It's finally here! WCW proudly presents Legacy, WCW's return to wrestling action! Tony Schiavone alongside new broudcast partner 'The Immortal' Hulk Hogan. And I've got just two words for you wrestling fans...we're baaaaaaack!

Hulk: Absolutely Schiavone, World Championship Wrestling has never been stronger and we're coming back faster, fiercer, and stronger.

Tony: I couldn't agree with you more Hulk, tonight we've got a double main-event folks. For the #1 Contendership for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at Great American Bash, Scott Steiner, Sting, Goldberg, and newest WCW acquisition Shawn Michaels!

Hulk: And Michaels will make his official in-ring return tonight after having to take a hiatus three years ago.

Tony: But don't think that our World Heavyweight Champion Booker T has the night off, he will be putting his WCW United States Championship on the line against Lance Storm.

Hulk: I talked to Storm earlier today and he just seemed completely focused on his match tonight, he might have a chance to take that title tonight.

Tony: That certainly will be an exciting match, let's turn it now over to our colleague 'Mean' Gene Okerland backstage. Take it away Gene.

Gene: Thanks for the handoff Tony, Mean Gene Okerlund here alongside my guest of the night, WCW World Heavyweight and WCW United States Champion Booker T. Booker, tonight you don't have to defend your World Heavyweight Championship but you have to defend your United States Championship, do you take this match less seriously than your WH title defenses?

Booker: Y'know something Mean Gene, I train just as hard for each match I have, be it non-title or for any of my titles, I stay focused just as much as anyother match I have to participate in. So Lance Storm better watch out tonight 'cuz after I hit him with an Axe Kick tonight, it'll be lights out for him.

Gene: Do you have anything to say about the rumours that Scott Steiner will show up during your United States Championship bout toninght?

Booker: Listen, I know Steiner's still mad over me taking his World Heavyweight Championship on the last episode of Nitro. But if he's still got a beef with me, let him show up, I'll kick straight in the jaw and take him out, he won't even be able to compete in the Main Event tonight.

Gene: Finally, anything to say to new WCW acquisition Shawn Michaels?

Booker: I'd just like to say welcome to the WCW, and a brief warning Shawn, this ain't no panzy-ass Federation, we hit, and we hit hard. And it'd be an absolute honor to face you at the Great American Bash, but like the other three competitors you have to face tonight, you have to earn your shot to face me.

Gene: Thanks for your time Booker, back to the ring.

- Jamie Noble starts out against Helms.

- Lots of quick action, starts to slow down when Noble takes it to the mat.

- Noble gets the tag to Guerrero who works away at Helms.

- Couple of momentum shifts later, and Kidman's in.

- Kidman hits a nice neckbreaker and attempts a SSP, but Guerrero rolls out of the way.

- Guerrero tags to Skipper who mounts some offense.

- After some pounding, Kidman gets to Mysterio.

- Mysterio hits an all-out aerial assault.

- Mysterio is about to get hit by Guerrero from behind but Kidman saves his partner by clearing both Guerrero and himself out of the ring at the 7 min mark.

- Helms, now the legal partner against Noble, Skipper clears Mysterio out of the ring at 9 min.

- Noble hits a low-blow without the ref looking, Noble then picks up Helms...

- Nobledriver! (Inverted Piledriver), 1...2...3.

Winners: Chavo Guerrero Jr, Elix Skipper, and Jamie Noble in 18:19. C+

- Pretty happy with this match, as it really got the crowd going. Don't know who to push for the Cruiserweight Title shot at GAB. But I'll find a way to choose an opponent for Helms, stay tuned to the CW division folks...

Hulk: Man what a great match, these Cruiserweight certainly know how to put on a show.

Tony: They certainly do Hulk, and I'm getting word that one of these three victors will go on to face Shane Helms for his Cruiserweight Championship at the Great American Bash.

Hulk: But who?

Tony: Who knows!? One thing's for sure, watch the following episodes of Monday Night Nitro to find out...and I'm getting word that a limo has just pulled up in the Staples Center garage.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Indeed, a limo is shown pulling up in the garage as the rear passenger door stops at the camera, the driver then gets out and opens the door to reveal two figures dressed up in suits. The camera then pans up to reveal...

...

HBK: Oh. *returns to driver, hands him undisclosed amount of money* Go spoil yourself. C'mon Kev, let's find our locker room.

A

Tony: Well fans, Shawn Michaels is here and he's brought along his partner 'Big Sexy' Kevin Nash.

Hulk: He seems awful confident headed into tonight, he better remember, he's facing three of the toughest SOBs in this business, he better watch his back.

Tony: I'm sure he'll do fine, he definitely knows how not to disappoint an audience.

Hulk: Y'got a point that Schiavone.

- The younger Toro then seems to take more of the advantage.

- Toro hits a big spinebuster and then roars at the crowd.

- Bam Bam soon starts to fight back at the 7 min mark.

- Bam Bam back on offense, hits a nice body slam and follows up with some stomps.

- Toro somehow fights back even though getting hit by stomps, BIG LARIAT!

- Toro seems to be unstoppable as he charges at Bam Bam for a spear, but Bigelow throws him out of the ropes!

- Bam Bam gets out of the ring and throws Toro back in the ring.

- Toro tries fighting back with Headbutts, Bam Bam seems a tad unfazed. But Toro then hits a monstrous headbutt.

- At the 10-minute mark, Toro then prepares to hit another lariat, he hits it.

- Toro then grabs Bam Bam's neck for a chokeslam, but Bigelow fights back.

- After a minute of offense, Toro fights back and then hits his chokeslam. 1...2...3

Winner: Toro in 13:06. C

- Couple of problems here, lack of selling on Stamboli's behalf and the match went too long, tiring Bam Bam down. Toro also didn't come out to look as much of a monster as I hoped. Some notes for future reference: book Toro against jobbers, and have Bam Bam work shorter matches, don't want to wear him out.

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/Toro.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/JamesMitchell.jpg

The lights then dim as 'The Sinister Minister' stands at the entrance ramp cackling, Toro goes up to stand by him.

Mitchell: Ha ha ha ha ha! Tonight you've all witnessed history! Tonight is just the first step on the path of destruction that Toro will wreak across World Championship Wrestling until he's world champion! This Human-Wrecking Machine will plow through anyone who dares stand in his path. To the rest of the WCW Roster: Take Notice, anyone who will have the misfortune of taking on my client, will be chokeslammed 7ft to their grave! Ha ha ha ha ha!

Hulk: Man, this Toro isn't no Andre the Giant for sure, but he is one hell of a monster.

Tony: You're right there Hogan, this man....no, this monster chokeslammed the 200lb+ Bam Bam Bigelow from 7ft in the air! This guy's all power!

Hulk: Man, those guys back in the locker room better take notice of Toro, or they just might be on the injury list soon.

#1 Contendership to WCW World Tag Team Titles

Totally Buff v KroniK

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/BuffBagwell.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/LexLuger.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/BrianAdams.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/BryanClark.jpg

- Clark starts off against Luger.

- Good teamwork between Kronik, Totally Buff seems to have a few kinks to work out.

- 3 minutes in it's Buff v Adams with Buff on the offensive.

- After some chops to the chest in the corner, Buff whips Adams who then counters with a clothesline.

- Quick tags between KroniK keeps them fresh, both isolate Bagwell from Luger.

- Couple minutes later, Luger finally gets the tag, takes out both of KroniK.

- After some flexing Adams and Clark corner Luger, who squirms his way out and tags to Buff.

- Buff tries double-clotheslining both members of the opposite team but they get out of the way, Clark the legal man.

- The match goes on with more quick tags from KroniK and slower tags from TB, this soon proves to be Totally Buff's downfall.

- Clark hits a big slam on Bagwell and pins him, Adams knocks Luger off the ring apron, 1...2...3.

Winners: Kronik in 15:48. C

- Another match that could've been better in my opinion, KroniK did great out there together. Bagwell & Luger were lacking a bit in chemistry.

Tony: Well folks, our first match for Monday Night Nitro has been confirmed! The Natural Born Thrillers putting their WCW Tag Team Championships on the line against KroniK!

Hulk: Should be one hell of a match Schiavone.

Tony: Should be, the NBT's are going to have their hands full with these two monsters, they nearly obliterated Buff Bagwell & Lex Luger!

Hulk: Y'know somethin' Tony, I think Totally Buff were just off their game tonight, they didn't seem to click as well as normal.

Tony: You might be right Hogan, we'll see if they turn their program around anytime soon.

Gene: Bill, tonight's your chance to become the #1 Contender to the World Heavyweight Championship. How good do you think are your odds?

Goldberg: What are my odds? You're questioning my odds of winning? Listen Mean Gene, tonight I know there's a lot on the line. And I'm going to do what I always do, I'm going to walk out there, hit a Jackhammer on anyone who dares to get in my way. Hit 'em with a spear and pin them for the win and I'll be headed off to the Great American Bash to face Booker T for his WCW World Heavyweight Championship! And here's a warning to Steiner, Sting, and Shawn Michaels, you best stay out of my way, if you don't tonight, I'll make sure to drive you straight down to the mat where you belong!

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/BookerT.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/LanceStorm.jpg

- Lots of quick action early on between the two, with decisive advantage so far.

- That soon ends as Storm locks in a nice and lengthy chinlock.

- After Booker powers out, Booker hits a powerful leg to the face!

- Couple more kicks to the face until Storm ducks one and hits a quick stunner!

- Storm then proceeds to work on the legs at around 8 minutes.

- Booker powers out of a couple submission holds as he gets the crowd on his side, a whip to the ropes by Booker and a spinebuster follows.

- Booker tries putting on some of his own submissions but he can't quite do it like Storm.

- Storm, a couple of minutes later, shows Booker how to really do it, latching on a Texas Cloverleaf!

- Booker seems as if he's about to tap but reaches the ropes.

- 13 Minutes: Booker goes for a superkick but Storm ducks and tries a flying forearm, Booker ducks.

- Book End! 1...2...Last Second Kick Out!

- Booker looks a little frustrated but gives the signal for an Axe Kick at 15 minutes...

- Booker bounces off the ropes when...

- Scott Steiner then makes an appearance and comes down to the ring but stands on the apron to shout some garbage at Booker T.

- While Booker T yells back at Steiner, Storm then rolls up the champ. 1...2...3

Winner and new United States Champion: Lance Storm in 17:03. B

- So far this is definitely my match of the night, though Booker isn't any sort of technical wrestler, good effort for him though, wanted to have him drop the title so he could stay focused on his World Heavyweight title. Who'll challenge Storm for the title at Great American Bash? Watch the upcoming Nitro's to find out.

Tony: Dammit! Storm steals the United States Championship right from undernearth Booker T!

Hulk: And it's all thanks to Scott Steiner right there, trust me, I know that what goes around, comes around in this business. And Steiner's gonna feel the backlash from this soon.

Tony: Hope so, Steiner's nothing but a cheater, and he'll do anything to get his hands on gold.

Gene: Gene Okerland again, chasing down Scott Steiner. Scott! Scott why'd you just interfere in Booker T's United States Championship Match?

Steiner avoids the question and gets ready to head back down to the ring.

Gene: Scott why'd you interfere in Booker T's match?

Steiner again takes care of his stuff backstage and then goes up to the camera.

Scott: *points at camera* You better get that damn camera out of my face you hear me?

Gene: Scott! ... Scott! ... Scott Steiner refusing to answer our question, oh well...back to you guys at the booth.

- Michaels then throws Steiner out of the ring, he lands on top of the two outside of the ring.

- But Steiner rolls out of the way, Booker kicks Michaels!

- Booker then bails out of the ring as he believes he hits Steiner, Steiner covers HBK, 1...2...3!

Winner: Scott Steiner in 21:05. A

- Great match! I knew that this match was bound to get an A! Glad that Booker's interference went right as well, this match was a great setup for down the road, hope you stick around to watch some more.

Tony: So much for what goes around comes around Hogan.

Hogan: It only works, say 9/10 times. But man this was Steiner's night.

Tony: No it wasn't! He cheats Booker T out of his United States Championship and now gets the chance to face him for his World Heavyweight Championship at Great American Bash! Makes me sick.

Hogan: Well you can be as nauseous as you have to be, our main event is set for Great American Bash : Booker T v Scott Steiner.

Tony: Guess you're right, well folks this is Tony Schiavone signing off with Hulk Hogan. Goodbye from WCW Legacy, the first event back for WCW.

Noble gets the pin on the CW champ...nice. It would seem to be a natural progression that that would lead to a title shot.

Good call in pairing Toro with Sinister Minister. Assuming you aren't going to have Toro talk, SM is a great mouthpiece.

I noticed that the GAB is in 2 weeks. Are you planning to run a PPV every other week, or is this just a shorter-than-usual turnaround?

On Jamie Noble, he may've got the pin but his whole team won the match. So on Monday Night Nitro (card coming soon) I've booked a triple-threat match : Guerrero v Skipper v Noble to see who goes to the Bash as the #1 Contender.

On Toro + James Mitchell, it just seemed natural.

And on GAB it's just like you said, shorter-than-usual turnaround, July PPV (Bash @ The Beach) is scheduled for week 2, one full month behind Great American Bash.

Thanks for the feedback.

5 - 28 - 01 : 1 Hour after Legacy went off the air...

*POP*

Champagne goes flying everywhere as I quickly pour some into the four other men in the center of the ring with me, Ric Flair, Sting, Shawn Michaels, and Kevin Nash.

"Ya'll really think it was that good?"

Nash: I'd be lying if I said it wasn't, I really think you booked a top-notch PPV kid.

Flair: Couldn'tve said it better myself, now I can say why your daddy picked you to book this place.

Thank God! That uneasy feeling in my gut finally has been relieved by these guy's feedback. Now that I knew what my workers thought of my work, I just had to wonder what fans had to say, so I logged onto a random wrestling forum and found a thread entitled...

WCW Legacy

So I clicked and opened it up to see at least four pages of thoughts on the show, and thankfully most of them were positive. Others were thoughts on how the shot could've went better, here's a small sample of what I read...

"Oh great...they put Mitchell with another monster. How many times have we seen this? He'll probably go on a monster streak to then be stopped by probably Sting or Michaels and then be jobbed 'til his release."

"Am I the only one who believes that the Cruiserweight Division stole the show tonight? C'mon, the Fed doesn't even book matches that well, high-spots all over the place, great aerial action. Ever since ECW went under it seems this is going to be the only place we're going to find any of that. But back to the match itself, wow..."

"Why?! Why WCW would you put Hogan as a colour commentator?! Sure the guy's got face value but his announcing just sucked! Whatever happened to Mike Tenay?"

I chuckled at a couple of other comments on their but closed the laptop, satisfied. I then went to pour myself another glass of champagne until a backstage worker then ran out onto the entrance ramp.

"Hey you guys get back here! There's a fight!"

After we all ran backstage to see the commotion, workers were holding back a worker who I could identify as Mike Awesome from Marcus 'Buff' Bagwell.

"Okay, what the f**k is going on here?"

After saying that, I just heard practically minutes of constant argument (mainly from Awesome) on how Bagwell alledgedly said a lewd comment to Awesome initiating the fight. Upon further evaluation I learned that it was actually Awesome who caused the problem. I came back to tell both workers that I had a solution to this problem, and that I'd invite them individually to my office to have a chat about what occured and the consequences.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike Awesome has been suspended for 30 Days.

On Bravo!

Held in Phoenix, AZ.

Finally WCW Monday Night Nitro is making it's long-awaited comeback! With the end of WCW Legacy, World Championship Wrestling is back in business! Last night we saw the crowning of a new United States Championship, and a couple of #1 Contenders announced. We also found out our first match for the Great American Bash in 2 weeks, Booker T putting his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against 'Big Poppa Pump' Scott Steiner. Speaking of which, both will be in a tag-team match tonight with United States Champion Lance Storm in Steiner's corner, and 'the Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels in Booker's corner. In what looks to be an explosive card for Monday Night Nitro, tune in to Bravo! at 10EST/9CST to watch all of the action!

Chavo Guerrero Jr v Elix Skipper v Jamie Noble - #1 Contendership to Cruiserweight Championship

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/ChavoGuerreroJr.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/ElixSkipper.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/JamieNoble.jpg

What you didn't see on cameras last night at Legacy after Chavo Guerrero Jr, Elix Skipper, and Jamie Noble def. The Cruiserweight Champ Shane Helms & The Filthy Animals, was a bit of an argument surrounding who gets the #1 Contendership to the Cruiserweight Championship at the Great American Bash. Noble pushed hard for it as he was the one who pinned the champ himself, but his two partners wouldn't hear any of what he had to say. So WCW Management Representative Ric Flair made a match for tonight, each of the partners from last night would face off against each other to see who will go to Great American Bash and maybe, just maybe, become the NEW Cruiserweight Champion.

Rick Steiner v Toro w/James Mitchell

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/RickSteiner.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/Toro.jpg w/ http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/JamesMitchell.jpg

Last night Toro made an impressive debut, able to defeat Bam Bam Bigelow. Well Toro has himself another challenge tonight, taking on former amateur wrestler Rick Steiner, Steiner has the experience but does he have enough power to stop this masked monster? Or will Toro do as what the Sinister Minister says, take another step on the path of destruction of WCW's roster?

WCW World Tag Team Championships

The Natural Born Thrillers © v KroniK

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/WCWWorldTag.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/WCWWorldTag.jpg

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/ChuckPalumbo.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/SeanOHaire.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/BrianAdams.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/BryanClark.jpg

After earning their title shots last night at Legacy by defeating Totally Buff, the two powerhouses of KroniK will get a chance to become WCW World Tag Team Champions if they can defeat the more agile team of Chuck Palumbo & Sean O'Haire. The NBTs though are going to put up one hell of a fight on their behalf guarenteed. Who will win this match for the prestigious titles? Watch Monday Night Nitro on Bravo! to find out.

Goldberg v AJ Styles

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/Goldberg.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/AJStyles.jpg

The man who dominated WCW with his Streak before is in action tonight, and does he look pissed. Goldberg nearly won the match against Steiner and was ready to put him away until Sting took him clear out of the ring, and Goldberg doesn't look too happy about last night. So he asked for a match from WCW Management who gave him one, against the young rookie AJ Styles. Can this rookie hold his own? Or will he just fall to Goldberg like so many others have? Watch Nitro to find out.

Booker T & Shawn Michaels v Lance Storm & Scott Steiner

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/BookerT.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/ShawnMichaels.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/LanceStorm.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/ScottSteiner.jpg

One night after Scott Steiner helped Lance Storm win his United States Championship and solidify his spot at the Great American Bash as challenger to Booker T's World Heavyweight Championship, Steiner finds himself in tag-team action with Storm against his opponent at GAB and 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels. Problem with that? Booker T accidentally cost Shawn Michaels shot to go to the Great American Bash by kicking him in the jaw. What will Michaels reaction be to tagging with the man who cost him his title shot? Watch Nitro to find out, only on Bravo!

Chavo Guerrero v Elix Skipper v Jamie Noble - #1 Contendership to CW Title

-I'd like to see Noble get the shot, but something tells me if that's the way you were going to go, he'd have gotten the shot automatically after pinning Helms at the PPV. So I'll go with Chavito.

Rick Steiner v Toro

-You seem to have plans for this guy, and Rick has never impressed me in singles.

The Natural Born Thrillers © v KroniK - WCW World Tag Team Titles

-I'm thinking you're eager to get the belts off of NBT--otherwise, why do this match now instead of holding it off for your next PPV, which is only 2 weeks away?

Goldberg v AJ Styles

-I've always disliked Goldberg, and I love AJ Styles. But I'm not stupid.

Booker T & Shawn Michaels v Lance Storm & Scott Steiner

-This could go either way, but I'll say Scotty gets the win to keep him strong for his upcoming title shot. Plus there could be dissension between HBK & The Book.

Hulk: Brother, we've got just as strong of a card as Legacy from last night! For one, the WCW Tag Team Titles are on the line as Chuck Palumbo & Sean O'Haire take on KroniK who got the chance to fight for those titles by defeating Totally Buff last night.

Tony: Plus, we've got a match to decide who will challenge 'Sugar' Shane Helms for the Cruiserweight Championship at the Great American Bash. Chavo Guerrero Jr against Elix Skipper against Jamie Noble.

Michaels and Nash both come down to the ring dressed up in casual attire, they don't do their signature pose in the center of the ring, HBK has a microphone.

HBK: Well...what a way to kick off the first new episode of Monday Night Nitro! And what a way to have the Heartbreak Kid to come back to Phoenix Arizona! I've missed you all after having to take time off from my previous injury, and now I'm back making my in-ring return last night, nearly earning the chance to face Booker T at the Great American Bash to fight for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. But as you all know, that wasn't quite the result that happened. Here, watch again...

Another shot of Booker T hitting the kick on Shawn Michaels' chin is then shown.

HBK: Ever since last night I couldn't stop hearing it from other people, what are you going to do Shawn? He screwed you out of the World Heavyweight Championship Shawn, how are you going to re-

Booker: Now wait just one damn minute!

World Champ Booker T then comes out and stands on the entrance ramp.

Booker: Shawn, listen dawg, there's no way I tried screwing you out of your title shot last night!

HBK: Really now? What would you call that then?

Booker: Look, you saw my United States Championship match last night against Lance Storm where Scott Steiner screwed me out of my title interfering in my match I guess I just had my emotions get the best of me and try screwing him out of his match.

HBK: *snickers*

Booker: What's so damn funny?!

HBK: Nothing, nothing, anyways, taking another look at the footage I can now see where you're coming from, you aimed more for Steiner and I was just an "innocent bystander."

Booker: Thank you, thank you for seeing it my way. Now c'mon dawg we've got a match to focus on tonight.

HBK: You got it.

Tony: Well that was rather quick.

Hulk: What?

Tony: Shawn Michaels forgave Booker T for that accidental kick that robbed him of his chance to headline the Great American Bash, in the matter of 5 minutes.

Hulk: Well Michaels is a nice guy, he'd be a guy to do that.

Tony: Up next, cruiserweight triple threat for a shot against Shane Helms at Great American Bash!

- What a great match from these three youngsters, match rating surprised me, was expecting a C+ but these guys can put on quite the show. Really got the fans going.

Tony: Well it looks like we've just found our new #1 Contender to the Cruiserweight Championship Hogan.

Hulk: And what a way to do it Schiavone, Gory Bomb from Guerrero and he's got the thing sealed up.

- Toro gets the idea of what Mitchell is saying and latches his arm around Steiner's throat, CHOKESLAM! 1...2...3.

Winner: Toro in 4:16

C

- Definitely had Toro look like a monster, as the fans definitely could tell that he's now a serious threat to the roster. Couple more of these squashes and then he'll be ready for his first storyline. Mitchell did a good job at ringside.

Hulk: Damn Tony, this Toro definitely seems to be a monster.

Tony: Indeed he does Hulk, I've never seen anybody take down Rick Steiner this fast before.

Hulk: Me neither, this kid's gonna have a future in WCW Tony, I can just smell it.

Tony: That is if he leaves anybody on the roster left! At this rate he'll tear right through our roster!

Gene Okerlund knocks and then enters Scott Steiner's locker room.

Gene: 'Mean' Gene Okerlund backstage with Scott Steiner, #1 Contender to the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Scott, last night I tried asking you why you interfered in Booker T's match last night, well tonight I'm going to ask you, how are you feeling as #1 Contender?

Steiner: Jeez, Okerlund you're quite the persistent one aren't you? Legacy I just wanted to watch him lose one of his titles just like how he stole my WCW World Heavyweight title from me. And at the Great American Bash, I will reclaim the World Championship and continue my reign as perhaps the greatest World Champ this company has ever seen! And no one, not even Booker T is going to stop me.

WCW Management Representative Ric Flair then comes out to tremendous applause, he then stands on the entrance ramp.

Flair: Adams, Clark, you both put down those chairs right now! So help me God you put down those chairs or you both will find yourselves out of WCW! Now I understand that both of you are frustrated with how this match went, so at the Great American Bash the both of you will take on the Natural Born Thrillers for the WCW World Tag Team Championship again, this time in a Tornado Tag match!

Goldberg: Mean Gene, no one cares about AJ Styles I'll just head right in the ring, Spear him and win the match. But tonight I'm gonna call out the man who cost me my shot at the World Heavyweight Championship, I'm calling out 'The Icon' himself, I'm calling out Sting.

On Bravo!

Taped live in Houston, TX.

Last week Monday Night Nitro made it's return to television, with a new network, new roster, and a brand new attitude. Last week World Champion Booker T and 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels seemed to have cleared the air about the accident at WCW Legacy where Booker kicked HBK right in the jaw. But all of that seems to have been just thrown out the window when Booker looked as if he were to repeat the previous night's accident, but Michaels ducked out of the way allowing Booker to kick Scott Steiner, in a reversal of roles from Legacy. Tonight on Nitro, Michaels will take part in a 10-Man Battle Royal to find out who will face Lance Storm for his United States Championship at the Great American Bash, while Booker won't be in competition tonight. Also last week, we saw Goldberg call out Sting on Nitro, but after some mind games Sting then appeared and layed Goldberg out in the middle of the ring. Will Goldberg get his revenge this week? Watch Nitro this Monday on Bravo! @ 10PM EST!

With 6 Days left to the Great American Bash, the only title that hasn't been putten on the line yet is the United States Championship currently held by Lance Storm. Has Booker T can not use his rematch clause this Sunday as he's putting his World Heavyweight Championship on the line, so WCW Management Representative Ricky Steamboat booked this battle royal to decide who will go on to face Storm this Sunday. Whoever wins this battle royal faces some tough competition, as names such as Bam Bam Bigelow, Diamond Dallas Page, and the 'Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels. Each man in this has got a lot to fight for, as they could engrave their name in history as the holder of the prestigious United States Championship, who will win come Monday? Tune in to Nitro to find out.

Norman Smiley v Toro

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/NormanSmiley.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/Toro.jpg

Ever since entering World Championship Wrestling last Sunday, Toro seems to be hell-bent on building a path of destruction in WCW, after going through Bam Bam Bigelow + Rick Steiner over the past week Toro now finds himself fighting a smaller competitor known as Norman Smiley. Can anyone stop this human-wrecking-ball? Tune in to Nitro to watch the action.

Shane Helms & Billy Kidman v Chavo Guerrero Jr & AJ Styles

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/ShaneHelms.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/BillyKidman.jpg v http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/ChavoGuerreroJr.jpghttp://i721.photobucket.com/albums/ww215/WCW_legacy/AJStyles.jpg

Cruiserweight Champion Shane Helms finds himself in action tonight in tag-team action against his Great American Bash opponent Chavo Guerrero Jr. Helms tags with Billy Kidman while Guerrero tags with the young AJ Styles. If you've been watching WCW action over the past week you know that our cruiserweights never fail to put on a good show for you fans. Expect some high-flying, in your face action on Monday as these teams will put everything on the line to stand tall at the end of this match, and Guerrero and Helms both know this as whoever wins this match could gain momentum heading into the Great American Bash.

The WCW World Tag Team Champions The Natural Born Thrillers finds themselves in action on Nitro as they take on United States Champion Lance Storm and #1 Contender to the World Title Scott Steiner. Steiner & Storm are looking to gain some retribution as they suffered a loss last week to Booker T & Shawn Michaels. With Booker not in action tonight, will he make an appearance in this match in anyway? And will Steiner be able to keep his focus on this match instead of worrying about a possible Booker intrusion? The only way to find out the answers to these questions is by tuning in to Monday Night Nitro tommorow night! Only on Bravo!
