Team Lucha dominated the start of the match with a lightning quick aerial assault and some nice double team moves, however the Dragons were able to isolate Daniel Cano after Dwight Kumas missed a tag between Cano and Team Lucha's captain, Blue Sky, thanks to a distraction from Canadian Dragon. This match featured Shawn Gonzalez, one of the biggest names on the east coast (where we were) and nationally known, Monty Walker. Not only are they known, but both members are highly talented wrestlers in their own right. Now maybe I would have felt differently if the two just didn't have "it" or if the fans weren't into it, but neither are the case. The only reason I can see for the critics to rate this match a "D+" is because they are bias against Rapid Pro Wrestling and our family friendly product. Just because we don't swear in our promos or use weapons on a daily basis don't mean we can't put on some classic wrestling action. In any case, Shawn Gonzalez and Monty Walker put on a hell of a show with Gonzalez getting a hard fought victory over the new comer. </span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:10px"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:10px"> </span></span></span><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:10px"><strong>Result: Shawn Gonzalez defeated Monty Walker in 16:30 by submission with a Latino Crab.</strong></span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:10px"><strong> Rating: D+</strong></span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:10px"> </span></span></span></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"> </span></p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="21939" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center"><p></p></div><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:10px"> </span></span></span><span>http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/RockDownpour.jpg</span><span>http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/RichMoney.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:10px"> </span></span></span><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:10px"><span style="text-decoration:underline"><strong>Backstage</strong></span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:10px"> </span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:10px"> </span></span></span><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:10px"><span style="color:Green"><strong>Rock Downpour:</strong></span></span></span></span><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:10px"><span style="color:Green"> Rich Money, it seems that your first few months here have been pretty eventful. Capping off the event will be the action packed main event of Blue Sky and the Great Ota. </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> </span></span></p><div style="text-align:center"><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"><strong>Super Happy Fun Tour Kick-Off Super Special</strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"><strong> Friday, Week 3, February 1997</strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"><strong> </strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline">Durham, NC</span></strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> Brent Hill vs. Freddie Datsun</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> Alex Braun vs. Blue Sky </span></span><span>http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/teamluchlogoicon.png</span><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> vs. Canadian Dragon </span></span><span>http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/cdragonslogoicon.png</span><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> vs. Dylan Sidle </span></span><span>http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/braintrustlogoicon.png</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> Peregrino Soto </span></span><span>http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/teamluchlogoicon.png</span><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> vs. Shawn Gonzalez</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> Panda Mask </span></span><span>http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/uuionlogoicon.png</span><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> vs. Scottish Dragon </span></span><span>http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/cdragonslogoicon.png</span><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> vs. Tayler Morton</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> Rich Money vs. Whippy The Clown</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> </span></span><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"><strong>Super Happy Fun Tour #2</strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"><strong> Friday, Week 4, February 1997</strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"><strong> </strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline">Toledo, OH</span></strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> Blue Sky </span></span><span>http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/teamluchlogoicon.png</span><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> vs. Great Ota</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> Jungle Jack vs. Lance Henderson </span></span><span>http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/braintrustlogoicon.png</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> Commonwealth Dragons (Scottish & UK) </span></span><span>http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/cdragonslogoicon.png</span><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> vs. Team Lucha (Cano & Soto) </span></span><span>http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/teamluchlogoicon.png</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> Cousin Erza </span></span><span>http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/braintrustlogoicon.png</span><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> vs. Pete The Hillbilly</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Century Gothic"><span style="font-size:12px"> </span></span></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote>

RPW Super Happy Fun Tour Kick-Off Special

Friday, Week 3, February 1997

1,503 people at North Carolina Biker Museum

Announcers

Rock Downpour • Akili Umaga • Floyd Goldworthy

Rich Money defeated Whippy The Clown in 10:50 by pinfall by using underhanded tactics. - D+

Notes: Rich Money and Whippy The Clown have pretty good chemistry, and it lifted the match.

After the match, Rich Money picks up the microphone and challenges Steve Flash to a match, any time, any where. - D-

Tayler Morton defeated Scottish Dragon and Panda Mask in 6:29 when Tayler Morton defeated Panda Mask by submission with a Senton Bomb. - E+

Notes: This match brought the crowd's mood down, I think.

Backstage, Stetson Hatt is with Whippy The Clown who is changing into his street clothes. Hatt asks why does Whippy keep playing pranks on people when it always seems to come back to bit him in the butt. Wippy The Clown responds with a simple answer: because it's fun. He also adds that it's not like his pranks are that harmful or anything, it's just good clean fun. - E+

Shawn Gonzalez defeated Daniel Cano in 8:24 by submission with a Latino Crab. - E+

Notes: Shawn Gonzalez and Daniel Cano just don't click at all, and it showed in their performances. This match brought the crowd's mood down.

In the locker room, Donnie J and Jungle Jack are hanging out watching some TV when Monty Walker enters the room. Walker says that he saw their match with Batch International and, while they didn't actually win, he saw potential in both wrestlers. Donnie J thanks Monty for the kind words and offers Walker to take a seat and chill. When Monty asks what they are watching Jungle Jack responds, "FORCE FIVE! IT WAS REFERENCED IN THE POPULAR MOVIE, PULP FICTION." - D

Alex Braun defeated Blue Sky, Dylan Sidle and Canadian Dragon in 12:49 when Alex Braun defeated Dylan Sidle by pinfall with a Braun Damage. - D-

Freddie Datsun cuts a promo hyping up his upcoming match with Brent Hill saying that he is going to give it his all for all Americans, black or white, liberal or conservative, big or small. - C-

Brent Hill defeated Freddie Datsun in 25:19 by pinfall with a King Of The Hill. - C

Notes: Brent Hill and Freddie Datsun have great chemistry, and it showed in their performances.

Overall: C-

Sophie's Notes: Had no idea that Whippy and Money could put on that kind of a match. Totally should have been the semi-main event instead of the snooze fest between Braun, Sky, Sidle, and CD. Gonzalez and Cano kind of sucked too. On the bright side, everyone loved the Donnie J, Monty Walker, and Jungle Jack segment. Still don't know how the hell we are getting away with stealing Jim Force's gimmick, though. Hill and Datsun was great as well, but that's too be expected. Finally, didn't really get to see the "undercard" four way. Too busy watching this cute guy in the second row.

OOC: Don't worry, this is only how I am going to write the Super Happy Fun Tour shows. My normal shows will have all the effort and detail you know and ignore. ;)

RPW Super Happy Fun Tour: Show Two

Friday, Week 4, February 1997

61 people at the Ohio Jewish Center

Announcers

Rock Downpour • Akili Umaga • Floyd Goldworthy

Cousin Ezra defeated Pete The Hillbilly in 7:02 by pinfall with a Running Butt Avalanche. - E-

Notes: Cousin Ezra was exhausted by the end. Pete The Hillbilly was really off his game tonight. Pete The Hillbilly was exhausted by the end. This match brought the crowd's mood down.

The Commonwealth Dragons cut a promo hyping their upcoming match with Peregrino Soto and Daniel Cano. They say that last week trios match doesn't count because of Silver Shark heinous actions and that they are going to take out their frustrations tonight. - E+

Commonwealth Dragons defeated Team Lucha in 5:47 when UK Dragon defeated Daniel Cano by pinfall, illegally using the ropes for leverage. - E

Notes: This match brought the crowd's mood down.

Jungle Jack storms around the ring like a wild man, shaking the ropes and screaming at the top of his lungs. The fans are loving it and Lance Henderson looks like he's going to wet himself. - D+

Jungle Jack defeated Lance Henderson in 10:29 by pinfall with a Jungle Jack-Jammer. - E+

Notes: This match brought the crowd's mood down.

Carl Batch and Great Ota come down to the ring for the main event. Before the announcer can introduce Blue Sky, Carl Batch rips the microphone right out from his hand. Laughing he tell Ota to show the fans what is going to happen to Blue Sky tonight. Ota responds by going under the ring. When he comes out he is holding a spray can and a large poster of Blue Sky. Using the spray paint, Ota draws the kanji symbol for Death. - D-

Notes: Carl Batch helped Great Ota during this segment.

Great Ota defeated Blue Sky in 18:06 by submission with Repeating Karate Chops (OOC: Think Danielson's MMA elbows only with karate chops instead of elbows). - D

Notes: This match brought the crowd's mood down.

Overall: D-

Sophie's Notes: Now I remember why we ended the Erza and Pete feud so early. Both men have the cardio of the seniors that usually make up this dump. The seniors sure liked Jungle Jack. Then again who doesn't? I mean the guys ripped! :D The fans were a little disappointed with the event (lack of Brent Hill and Steve Flash?), but overall they went home pretty happy. Added bonus: The cute guy from the Kick Off Special was here too. I wonder if he's a stalker? Ewww.

RPW - The Dark Side of Family Entertainment: Chapter VIII - Part Three

*Our* Lie

Monday, Week 1, February 1997

After reading the monthly report I received a somewhat unexpected visit from my boss, Mr. Preston Holt.

Preston Holt: James have read the monthly report left?

James Heatly: Yeah, I just got done with it.

Preston Holt: What are your thoughts?

James Heatly: Thoughts? Well, financially we are doing great. Even with all the new talent we brought in we are turning a solid profit. Losing out to NYCW in the regional battles kind of hurts, but we'll get them next time.

Preston Holt: You're damn straight we will.

At first I thought Holt was trying scold me or something, but once I got a look at his face I knew otherwise. His face reminded me of the Cheshire Cat from Alice In Wonderland.

James Heatly: What did you do?

Preston Holt: It's not me. It's we. It's what we did.

Why do I have a feeling I'm not going to like what is coming up next.

Preston Holt: Well I was going over that presentation you gave me in our interview again and it hit me. What is stopping New York City Wrestling from doing exactly what you wanted them to do two months ago? Using our own East Coast War to increase their viewablity of their workers and vaulting them over all of us all. And doing so all while pretending not to even be apart of the war! So just now I sent a message to little ol' Stompy and told him that I saw through his little scheme and that we're not going to take it anymore. That's right James. We're going to war with NYCW! Better get your war paint on.

James Heatly: What!? How...

Preston Holt: How will everyone know we are at war you ask? Well, that's easy. I "leaked" the information to Marv Earnest! This stuff is going to be hitting the 'net anytime now.

James Heatly: But, do you really think it's a good idea? I mean NYCW has a real critic friendly product.

Preston Holt: Critics? Those morons think they're so smart. All they are just marks with internet access. I wouldn't worry about them anymore.

James Heatly: This might go against my better judgment, but why don't we have to worry about them anymore?

Preston Holt: I told one of them, Dave Gerweck, that we were going to focus more on the traditional aspects of wrestling. You know, make it a bit more "real." And they bought it!

James Heatly: But, won't the critics notice that nothing's changed once we run our next show? And what about the fans?

Preston Holt: The critics aren't going to notice a thing. They'll see a promotion with a traditional heel/face divide and a roster with some of the best wrestlers in the US. Great job with signing guys like Holmes, Gonzalez, and Morgan before I told the them we "changed our product." It's going to make our lie look that much better.

James Heatly: Err, thanks. And what about the fans?

Preston Holt: What about them?

James Heatly: Aren't we going to lose some of them with the fake product change?

Preston Holt: Are you stupid or something!? Our fans don't read the dirtsheets. Hell most of them can barely read to begin with, much less go on the internet. If anything we are going to create a bigger fanbase.

It was at this moment I realize something important. Preston Holt is a genius, an evil genius.

OOC: In game terms I changed Traditional from "medium" to a "key feature" and Realism from "low" to "medium" and of course went to war with NYCW. Now I know a lot of you don't like changing the product around and I don't really like to do it either, but I felt it made sense in this diary. I forget where I said, but the concept of this diary was to be as ruthless as possible. It's called the Dark Side of Family Entertainment for a reason. This change did not change the intensity or the danger of the product and I did it in-game (not in the editor) and it didn't give me a notice that the change was big enough to drop my popularity/prestige.

RPW - The Dark Side of Family Entertainment: Chapter VIII - Part Four

March Madness Preview

Tuesday, Week 1, March 1997

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/RichMoney.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/versus.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/SteveFlash.jpg

Last week the pompous Rich Money challenged Steve Flash to a match, any time, any where. Always the fighting champion, Steve has accepted Money's challenge. Though there are some that have questioned this move because this match is taking place only two weeks before Flash's title match against The Complete Package, Brent Hill. To Money's request this match is going to be non-title. When asked why Rich responded, "With the high profile nature of Brent Hill vs. Steve Flash, a request for a title match would have been misguided as my victory would have forced RPW management to rush new ads with me as their champion. There is also a precedent that has been set in wrestling that a win over the champion in singles competition in a non-title match gives the challenge a future title shot. There is no need to rush things. I will be RPW World soon enough."

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/AlexBraun_alt.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/versus.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/BryanHolmes.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/versus.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/FreddieDatsun_alt1.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/versus.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/JDMorgan.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/versus.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/MontyWalker.jpg

The semi-main event is a match Stetson Hatt is aptly calling "March Madness" as five of RPW's best (Alex Braun, Bryan Holmes, Freddie Datsun, JD Morgan, and Monty Walker) face off in a match to one fall. Please note that this is not a number one contender's match (since Brent Hill is currently the number one contender), however with the talent involved in this match you have to think that it will affect the RPW World title scene.

Also on the card is the Lone Wolf, Shawn Gonzalez, taking on fan favorite Donnie J. The Brain Trust facing off against the Underwater Union in trios action, and last but not least the Commonwealth Dragons' UK Dragon goes one-one-one with everyone's favorite prankster, Whippy The Clown.

And don't forget that during the 2nd week of March RPW's Super Happy Fun Tour invades the South East! We have a fantastic card that includes: El Bandito vs. Silver Shark, Canadian Dragon vs. Monty Walker, The Brain Trust vs. Pete the Hillbilly & Panda Mask, and Daniel Cano. See you there!

OOC: You might notice that there is less posts than the last time you checked the thread. Well, I've been going through the posts and editing them to make them look the same so the diary looks better and I saw a couple of posts of mine that didn't add anything. So I tossed them. If there is anything else you see that I could change that would improve the diary, please tell me. I am open to all suggestions.

UK Dragon vs. Whippy The Clown

Not sure if Holt's "leak" had anything to do with this match, but what I do know is that Whippy and UK Dragon put on one hell of a show and the fans loved it. For eight minutes the two were nothing but nonstop action as they flew around the ring wowing the crowd with a mix of intricate chain wrestling and aerial assaults. It was fitting that the end of the match come out of nowhere as Whippy hit his flying butt press finisher, Joke's On You, after Whippy reversed an Irish Whip from UK Dragon.

Result: Whippy The Clown defeated UK Dragon in 8:14 by pinfall with a Joke's On You.

Without a match, Tayler Morton is relaxing in the locker room when he gets a phone call on his mobile phone.

Tayler Morton: Hey babe...Yeah, I made it to Raleigh in time...You need to see how big of a stink hole it is. It's worse then Oakland!...I know you miss me Lizzy. That's why I'm bringing you over here next week...uhuh...ight...yeah...Oh look, they’re calling my name right now for my big match. Talk to you later. *Click*

After expertly getting rid of his girlfriend, Tayler Morton sits back down and falls asleep.

The Brain Trust vs. Underwater Union

After the hot opener, this match kind of was a let down. Of course this is to be expected when the opener is that good. The story of the match was as follows: Dylan Sidle tries to lead his troops into battle, but for whatever reason his plans end up back firing. For example, while trying to isolate Inky The Squid Boy, Sidle tags in Lance Henderson and to take advantage of the five count, Sidle instructs Lance to kick Inky. Lance Henderson, a pacifist, however has a problem with hitting the prone Squid Boy and the two get into an argument. Thanks to the argument, Inky was able to slip out of his predicament and made the tag to the leader of the Underwater Union, Silver Shark. While this miscommunication was only one of many, it was the straw that broke the camel's back. After the tag, Silver Shark was able take the momentum for his team and the Underwater Union never looked back.

Result: Silver Shark, Inky The Squid Boy and Panda Mask defeated Dylan Sidle and The Brain Trust in 6:29 when Silver Shark defeated Cousin Ezra by pinfall.

Locker room

Donnie J and Jungle Jack are in the locker room hanging out when Monty Walker enters the room.

Monty Walker: Donnie man, I just saw your name on the card and wanted to wish you some luck before your match.

Donnie J: Thanks dude. I real…

Jungle Jack: THERE IS NO LUCK. ONLY THE FORCE! 42!!!

Donnie J chuckles at Jack's comment, but Monty looks a bit confused.

Monty Walker: Donnie, can I have a word with you?

Donnie J: Sure thing bro.

The two leave for the hallway and leaving Jack in the locker room.

Monty Walker: Yo man, you know that hanging out with you two have been so mellow, but I have to know. What's up with Jack?

Donnie J: Duddde, like I don't know man. One day he was all like strong and silent. The next, poof, he became all wild and such.

Monty Walker: Anything happen to him around that day?

Donnie J: Nothing I can remember. Oh wait. He did get called for a spot show that FSW was having in Charlotte. Or was that FWS? No maybe, SFW…

Monty Walker: SWF?

Donnie J: Yeah, that was it! He wrestled some Jim guy.

Monty Walker: He wrestled Jim Force? Then it all makes sense. He suffering from Destrucity Syndrome.

Donnie J: And now we know…

Jungle Jack: AND KNOWING IS HALF THE BATTLE!!!

Donnie J vs. Shawn Gonzalez

Ever since his loss to Steve Flash two months ago in the semi-finals of the REM Cup tournament and losing his temper in a tag team contest that ended in a draw, Shawn Gonzalez has been a house of fire. The young Latino has beaten HGC's Monty Walker and destroyed the masked luchador, Peregrino Soto, during RPW's Super Happy Fun Tour Kick Off Speical. Donnie J put up much more of a fight that Soto, but the result was the same, Shawn Gonzalez winning with his deadly Latino Crab submission.

Result: Shawn Gonzalez defeated Donnie J in 10:28 by submission with a Latino Crab.

Locker room

Before the "March Madness" match, Alex Braun meets up with Freddie Datsun in the locker room. Alex Braun officially welcomes Datsun in the RPW family and wishes him luck in their upcoming match. Datsun thanks Braun for the kind words but says that Braun's the one that is going to need the luck. After Datsun's comment, the two wrestlers get into a stare down until both Datsun and Braun start laughing. The two slap hands and walk out of the room, making their way to the ring.

Alex Braun vs. Bryan Holmes vs. Freddie Datsun vs. JD Morgan vs. Monty Walker

This match was complete chaos from the get go. As per the instruction of Emma Chase, JD Morgan kicked off the madness by assaulting Alex Braun before Monty Walker could even make his entrance. Even once Walker made his way to the ring, the match never really settled down as groups of people battled each other throughout North Carolina Biker Museum (well not the actual Museum itself, though it would be a fun sendoff for when the time comes when we must leave for a bigger venue in the Mid Atlantic).

As in most multi-man matches, the end came as three men were taken out of the match thanks to Alex Braun. This happened when Braun was trying to get some revenge on JD Morgan with a suicide plancha taking out Morgan, Braun, and the man Morgan was brawling with outside of the ring, Freddie Datsun. The aftermath of the dive caught the attention of Dwight Kumas and Monty Walker just long enough for Carl Batch to slide something into the ring. As Bryan Holmes put on the object it became clear as day as to what it was, a sparkling green elbow pad that the fans knew had to be loaded. With the elbow pad on all it took was one rolling elbow to take down an unexpecting Walker.

Result: Bryan Holmes defeated Alex Braun, Freddie Datsun, JD Morgan and Monty Walker in 16:20 when Bryan Holmes defeated Monty Walker by pinfall with a Loaded Rolling Elbow.

Rich Money vs. Steve Flash

Before the match there had to be a number of fans wondering why Rich Money was even in the ring with Steve Flash. Sure Money has had a number of good matches in his young career, but they all happened outside of RPW. And while he does have a win over Whippy The Clown, it was a bit tainted. Well tonight, the young man from Wall Street proved the doubters wrong by going toe to toe for twenty grueling minutes with a man that some think is the best wrestler in the world, Steve Flash. The two put on a show, not with the quick pace action of our opener or with dangerous "spots" like the previous "March Madness" five man, but with good old fashion storytelling.

In the beginning it didn't look like Money wasn't going last very long. Steve Flash countered every move and forced the 22 year old to the floor for a breezer. After collecting his thoughts, Money switched his game up and went on the offensive with some straight up brawling. The change in tactics caught the champ off-guard and for the first time in the match it was Flash who was on the defensive. Money would continue to wear down Steve for most of the match.

Around the 19th minute it looked all was lost for RPW's standard bearer. Rich Money landed a huge slam after softening up the champion with a Cobra Clutch sleeper hold and went up to the top rope for what had to be Dollars From Heaven. However, Steve Flash was playing a bit of possum and before Rich Money could execute the move Flash was able to get to his feet, get to the turnbuckle, and then was able to throw Money off the top in a way that had Rich land neck first on the top rope. After Money crashed to the match from the modified Flash Bang, Steve Flash made the cover and picked up a well deserved victory.

After the match, the fans (and a couple of our masked wrestlers who snuck into the stands in street clothes) were on their feet cheering for the best match they've seen RPW (and any other US company not named SWF or HGC) put on this year. Steve Flash played to the crowd a bit before turning to Rich Money (who at this point was starting to make it to his feet). The champion extended his hand out to fallen opponent. To the fans' surprise, Rich Money took Steve's hand. The two had a brief stare down before Flash made his way back to the back. Alone in the ring and visibly frustrated, it seems that Rich Money has taken the cheers from the crowd as them mocking him. He show his appreciation by giving the fans a not so family friendly gesture with his arms as he made his way to the locker room.

Result: Steve Flash defeated Rich Money in 20:12 by pinfall with a Flash Bang.

Good show, foolinc. Great main event.

Thanks. Took a gamble on a last minute decision to swap places with the five-way as the main event (hence why there are two angles back to back right before the 5-way and none between the two matches), but it definitely paid off. And the impromptu post match stuff between Flash and Money was a last second addition (though I think you knew that considering it wasn't an official angle), but I thought it was necessary since a match like that would probably turn Money face and I needed something to keep him a heel.

RPW - The Dark Side of Family Entertainment: Chapter VIII - Part Five

It Was Bound To Happen

Saturday, Week 1, March 1997

After March Madness there was little that could ruin my mood. Little did I know that one of those things was about to happen.

Sophie: Hey James. There are like some wrestlers that want to see you. They don't seem too happy.

James Heatly: Send them in.

I wonder what it is this time? Maybe they can't decide on a pizza. Or maybe whether they should play NHL 95 or Super Tecmo Bowl.

Donnie J: Sorry to bother you, but we have a problem.

JD Morgan: It's Emma Chase. I mean we all get why she has her own changing area and why she gets to tape her promos first so her appearance is just right, but the girl is just taking over.

Alex Braun: She's leaving her stuff all over both locker rooms, is constantly late, and treats us like servants.

Jungle Jack: Oh and get this. Whenever we call her out on it she uses the PMS card.

Donnie J: I'm no a doctor but I didn't something like that can last for 20 days of each month.

James Heatly: Fine. I'll talk to her.

Alex Braun: Thanks boss.

Once the wrestlers left, I picked up the phone and dialed Emma's number. Better to do it now I guess.

James Heatly: Hey, Emma? It's me, James.

Emma Chase: James, I'm a little busy right now so it better be good.

http://www.theguba.net/forum/Smileys/GUBA/ranting2.gif

James Heatly: Well, it's come to my attention that some of the wrestlers aren't happy with some of your backstage actions. I know you've just got here and it takes some time to get used to a new group of people and a new set of rules, but if you could just be a bit more mindful of other that would be great.

Emma Chase: Ok, gotcha.

James Heatly: That's great to hear…hello? Hello!? *sigh* Just perfect.

Well at least this day couldn't get any worse.

Sophie: Hey James. Our new "Lizzy Sunshine" is here to officially sign her contract.

James Heatly: Great! Send her in.

As I waited for the newest member of the RPW roster to walk into my door, a chilling thought went through my brain, If Emma Chase can get into the skin of a lockerroom of men, some of which have been wrestling for 6+ years, what is she going to do to some naïve, twenty something girl straight out of training? I fear the answer of this question is going to come sooner than later.

RPW Super Happy Fun Tour: Show Three

Friday, Week 2, March 1997

300 people at the Rainbow Bar & Grill

Announcers

Rock Downpour • Akili Umaga • Floyd Goldworthy

Tayler Morton defeated Daniel Cano in 6:45 by pinfall with a Senton Bomb. - E

Notes: Daniel Cano and Tayler Morton just don't click at all, and it showed in their performances. This match brought the crowd's mood down.

After the match a young brunette comes out in a cheerleader outfit and gives Tayler Morton a huge hug. After the two embrace for what seems like way too long, Morton tells the crowd that's it's good to have his girlfriend, Lizzy Sunshine, back with him, "If nothing more than to give him something far better to look at than the disgusting fans in the audience." The duo then makes an open challenge for anyone to challenge Taylor at RPW's next event Clash of the Titans. - D+

The Brain Trust defeated Pete The Hillbilly and Panda Mask in 4:45 when Lance Henderson defeated Pete The Hillbilly by pinfall. - E+

Notes: This match brought the crowd's mood down.

*Taped From March Madness* Rich Money is walking backstage after his tough luck loss. As he turns to go into the locker room, he bumps into Whippy The Clown. Whippy says that it was a hell of a match and better luck next time. Money is in no mood to talk and ignores Whippy, walking right past him. Before getting out of earshot Whippy comments it's a shame that Money didn't last 10 more minutes or he would have gotten a draw with the current RPW champion. It's at this point Money's frustration and anger overcomes the usually subdued 22 year old as Rich snaps and attacks Whippy The Clown. It takes most of the locker room to break the two up. - D-

Monty Walker defeated Canadian Dragon in 11:17 by pinfall. - D+

Silver Shark cuts a promo hyping up his upcoming match with El Bandito. Shark says that he's a fish of the world and knows all about Bandito's accomplishments as a wrestler, but adds that he's no slouch in the ring himself and it's going to take Bandito's very best to take down this great white. - D-

El Bandito defeated Silver Shark in 17:07 by pinfall with a Hijack Suplex. - C-

Overall: D+

Sophie's Notes: Well it seems like Lizzy Sunshine is a hit. The crowd really reacted to her in the ring. Though I am a little worried about her getting into trouble backstage. Not that she'll cause any trouble mind you. It's just that you know how the boys can be and then there is that whore Emma Chase to worry about. Anyway back to the show. Everything else went off pretty well, though Morton and Cano's match could have been better and the cute guy from the past two SHFT shows wasn't there. But at the end of the day, the show did what it was suppose to do, increase our popularity in the South East and that's all that matters.

RPW - The Dark Side of Family Entertainment: Chapter VIII - Part Six

Clash Of The Titians Preview

Tuesday, Week 3, March 1997

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/GenericWorld.jpg

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/BrentHill.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/versus.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/SteveFlash.jpg

Brent Hill and Steve Flash. In the short but rich history of Rapid Pro Wrestling, no two other men quite represent the promotion like these two. In amiss all of the quirky characters and zany actions of people like Brains McGhee, Inky The Squid Boy, and Whippy The Clown, these two men rose above putting on classic after classic, and in turn, making the RPW World title something to be cerished and respected. With the recent surge of interest from fans, media, and wrestlers alike, its fitting that these two meet once again for the RPW World title at an event that acturately depics what they are to RPW, titans.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/RichMoney.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/versus.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/WhippyTheClown.jpg

Speaking of rivalries, it seems that we might be seeing one in the making as Rich Money goes one on one with Whippy The Clown for the second time in as many months. It seemed liked Money had finally gotten over Whippy's prank last month when he defeated the wrestling clown at our Super Happy Fun Tour Kick-Off Special. But words between the two after Money's lost to Steve Flash turned ugly and resulted in a brawl between the two. Can Rich Money finally get rid of his painted menace or has Whippy gotten into Rich's mind enough to pull out a victory?

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/AlexBraun_alt.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/FreddieDatsun_alt1.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/versus.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/ElBandito.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/FumihiroOta_FINisher8.jpg

Also on this action packed card is the team of Alx Braun & Freddie Datsun taking on Batch International's El Bandito & Great Ota, a number one contender's match for The Brain Trust's Double Act titles between the Commonwealth Dragons, Team Lucha, and the Underwater Union, and last but not least is Talyer Morton's open challenge.

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/DylanSidle.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/versus.jpghttp://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/foolinc/RPW/resized/SteveFlash.jpg

RPW ends March as the Super Happy Fun Tour makes it's way to Boston, Mass. Steve Flash makes his first Super Happy Fun Tour appearance as he takes on Dylan Sidle in the main event. It should be noted that this match will be non-title as Stetson Hatt felt it would be unfair for Flash to have to defend his title so soon if he was still champion and if Flash were to lose the title to Brent Hill on Friday, Week 3, March 1997, then it would be impossible for Steve Flash to defend the belt anyway. Also on the card is Blue Sky taking on Lance Henderson and a 10-man battle royal which shall include: Canadian Dragon, Daniel Cano, Donnie J, Inky The Squid Boy, Panda Mask, Peregrino Soto, Scottish Dragon, Taylor Morton, UK Dragon, and Whippy The Clown.

Writer's block did me in for almost a month, but thanks to a combination of things it seems to be gone for the moment. Writing up Clash Of The Titans as we speak, though I won't be posting it tomorrow. So if you would like, you have around 24 hours before the show is up to make predictions.

OOC: About 10 hours early, but I didn't really see a reason to hold off posting this. Looked into my past diaries to see if there were a couple of ideas I could bring back. So for those of you that liked the announcers getting entwined into the match recaps from my NYCW'97 diary, then you are going to love this show.

Jungle Jack vs. Tayler Morton

This match was your classic game of cat and mouse as the smaller Tayler Morton tried to avoid the bigger and more powerful Jungle Jack. These matches can sometimes be a bit boring, but to Morton and Jack's credit, they really got the crowd into the match and ready for the rest of the show. In the end, tonight Tayler Morton's Jerry was more than enough for Jack's Tom as Morton tricked the big lug into running himself into the turnbuckle. The collision brought the big man down and gave Morton more than enough time to hit a Senton Bomb and make the cover.

Result: Tayler Morton defeated Jungle Jack in 7:01 by pinfall with a Senton Bomb.

Rock Downpour: So is this the Lizzy Sunshine we've been hearing about?

Akili Umaga: I don't really want to believe it, but it must be. She's beautiful. How did she end up with a guy like Tayler?

Floyd Goldwater: Well maybe if you as good looking as Tayler and myself, you'd know.

Akili Umaga: I might not have the looks of Mr. Morton, but I do have a lovely wife at home right now taking care of my kids.

Floyd Goldwater: I've seen your wife. My point still stands.

Akili Umaga: http://www.theguba.net/forum/Smileys/GUBA/furious.gif

Backstage

The fun loving trio stand in front of the large RPW banner. Silver Shark, dressed as a pirate (complete with eye patch), is in the center, flanked by Inky (on his left) and Panda Mask (on his right) in street clothes.

Silver Shark: Matties, we've been sailing these high seas for some time now, but the moment we've been waiting for has arrived. For today we get 'ye buried number one contender's ship! ARGGG!

Chuckling, Silver Shark takes off the pirate gear and then continues to speak into the camera. Though it's kind of hard to tell, Inky The Squid Boy and Panda Mask stare at their leader with disbelief at what he just said.

Silver Shark: Haha, yeah. Jokes aside, the real reason I wanted this time was to make an announcement. In wrestling history there has been one constant: stables always break up because someone gets too greedy. And you know something? This Union isn't going to be broken up because of my greed. That's why I've decide to pull myself from the match tonight. Taking my place will be none other than our very Ambassador of the Land, Panda Mask!

Inky The Squid Boy: *BLOOP*!

Panda Mask: WHAT!?

A few moments pass as a stunned Panda Mask tries to come up with a response, while Inky is clearly on board as the masked marine cephalopod does the Rocky pose before shaking poor Panda Mask in his excitement.

Panda Mask: Me take your place? But I haven't prepared for the match. I don't even have my trunks!

Silver Shark: Don't worry about that ya' little land lover. You can borrow one of my extra pair of tights. And you'll do fine, just fine.

At this moment, Silver Shark and Inky The Squid march off into the sunset (most likely to the locker room so Shark can get his extra trunks) leaving the confused Panda Mask to ponder what just happened.

Commonwealth Dragons vs. Team Lucha vs. Underwater Union

Double Act #1 Contender's Match

If the last minute switch pissed off any of the fans, they really didn't show it (though our fans are pretty laid back in general so maybe they were just being kind). The match was fought under normal rules so there were only two legal men in the ring at one time. However, the match broke down pretty quickly as the Commonwealth Dragons got impatience waiting for one of the other two teams to take them into the match.

When the chaos settled it was UK Dragon, Daniel Cano, and Panda Mask left in the ring. UK Dragon made an unexpected first move, uncharacteristically tackling Panda Mask to the ground and tugging at Panda Mask's mask. This left UK Dragon's back exposed. Using this opportunity, Daniel Cano attacked the unaware masked dragon, sending him out to the ring. While this was happening, Panda Mask was able to recover from Dragon's attack. However, there was one small problem. While UK Dragon wasn't able to get Panda's mask off his head, he was successful in moving it enough to restrict the young masked man's vision. After getting up, Panda Mask readjusted his mask just in time to see Cano's chest crash into him with a springboard crossbody, move that would net Cano the victory and Team Lucha a shot at the RPW Double Act titles.

Result: Team Lucha defeated Commwealth Dragons and Underwater Union in 7:51 when Daniel Cano defeated Panda Mask by pinfall with a Springboard Crossbody.

Rich Money vs. Whippy The Clown

Like the opener, this match was also a game of cat and mouse. Only this time it was the fan favorite, Whippy The Clown, running around and frustrating his opponent, Rich Money. Also like the opener, it was the "mouse" picking up the victory, though I don't think anyone would have guessed in the manor that it happened.

Rock Downpour: It looks like Rich Money has had enough of Whippy's shenanigans.

Akili Umaga: Ha! Whippy's finally got to him. He's chasing Whippy around the ring like an idiot.

Floyd Goldworthy: This is embarrassing! Someone needs to tell that clown that this is a wrestling ring, not a circus.

Rock Downpour: In any case, it looks like this match might end in a double countout if they aren't careful. Wait, it looks like Whippy's getting back into the ring to break the count, but Money's has a grip on his boot. Whippy seems to be reaching for Money's hand or is it his boot? Anyway...

*click*

Dwight Kumas: 10!

*ding* *ding* *ding*

Floyd Goldworthy: What the hey!? Whippy's boot just fell off. That's cheating! No fair. I was a recount!

Akili Umaga: Cheating? Where in the rule book does it say anywhere about boots coming off during a match being against the rules?

Floyd Goldworthy: Err, um. It just is, ok!?

Result: Whippy The Clown defeated Rich Money in 9:33 by count out.

Alex Braun & Freddie Datsun vs. El Bandito & Great Ota

Going into the match, there was a concern from the fans on how Alex Braun and Freddie Datsun would get along in the ring after Braun's aerial display two weeks ago more or less ended both men's chances at winning the March Madness match. The fans didn't have to wait long for their answer as Braun and Datsun surprised the two members of Batch International with dual top rope dives (To be honest, I was surprised that Datsun could even do that at his size).

In part because of their surprise assault, it was the team of Braun and Datsun that dominated the early action. Of course it wouldn't be a Batch International match if Carl Batch did stick his nose into the ongoings of the action to help out his team's cause. For tonight's festivities he decided to distract Dwight Kumas so that the afro'd ref missed a tag made by Alex Braun. With Braun, Datsun, and Kumas were arguing, it didn't take long for Bandito and Ota to make their mark as they attacked Braun in stereo before dragging him to their own side of the ring.

Ota and Bandito took it to the ex-RPW World champion for what seemed like forever, but when it all looked like it was over Great Ota made a critical mistake. Trying to make a tag to his partner, El Bandito, the faced painted man from Japan took one hand and, more importantly, his eyes off of Braun. As Ota looked away, Alex Braun was able to use wrangle out of the grasp of The Great Ota, just barely making it to the other end of the ring to tag in a completely rested Freddie Datsun. After getting the tag, Freddie Datsun was like a house of fire. Using his size to his advantage, Datsun took out Great Ota (still the legal man) with a huge clothesline before sending El Bandito crashing into Carl Batch and eventually the floor by just the shear force of his momentum. One quick Patriot Press and it was all over (though why Freddie calls it that is beyond me. The move he uses is clearly a Death Valley Driver).

Result: Alex Braun and Freddie Datsun defeated El Bandito and Great Ota in 11:59 when Freddie Datsun defeated Great Ota by pinfall with a Patriot Press.

Brent Hill vs. Steve Flash ©

RPW World Title Match

Announcer: Now it's time for our MAIN EVENT!

Can you remember, remember my name

As I flow through your life

A thousand oceans I have flown

And cold spirits of ice

All my life

I am the echo of your past

I am returning the echo of a point in time

Distant faces shine

A thousand warriors I have known

And laughing as the spirits appear

All your life

Shadows of another day

After seeing Brent Hill entering the ring for the past couple of years, the fans have come to expect the worst from the egoistical Brent Hill. With "Perfect Strangers" by Deep Purple blaring, the ever confident Hill made his way to the ring, but something was different about this Brent Hill. Usually he would take the time to interact with the crowd, but not tonight. Tonight, he was all business.

Don't you count me

Out 'cause I've fallen

Out 'cause I've fallen down

I have landed

Down on my knees, oh

Down on my knees again

This is where I'll find the strength to carry on

This is where I'll find the strength to stand

I'm gonna be the last one standing

Fighting for something much bigger than me

I'm gonna be the last one standing here

Walking out to Christian Rock styling's of MercyMe's song "Last One Standing", the champion, Steve Flash, walks coolly out from behind the curtain, slapping the hands of everyone in the front row as he makes his way to the ring.

Announcer: In the corner to my left, the challenger. He hails from Albany, New York. Weighing in tonight at 230 pounds, he is the number one contender and self proclaimed Complete Package. He is Brent Hill!

Crowd: You're gonna get your freaking head kicked in. *clap* *clap* *clap* *clapclap* *clapclap* *clap* *clap*

Announcer: And his opponent, from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He weights in at 235 pounds and is your RPW World Champion, Steve Flash!

Crowd: Let's go Flash, let's go! Let's go Flash, lets go!

After the bell rings, Brent Hill Steve Flash locked up and began with long series of chain wrestling. Neither man could get the advantage for a prolonged period of time as both Hill and Flash were able to easily counter each other's moves. It wasn't until Brent Hill had to resort using an illegal eye rake that the match turned in one man's favor. While not an unusual move from the Complete Package, it should be noted that Brent Hill seemed to be upset with having to resort to using an eye rake, more so than even Steve Flash was. After the eye rake, Hill took control and it looked like he'd never look back. The Complete Package pulled out all the stops and was putting on a clinic. Hill hit move after move on The Remarkable One, but no matter what Brent dished out, Flash just never gave up, always finding a way to the rope or just barely beating everyone count. In the end...

Rock Downpour: And Brent Hill has got Steve Flash in the Stone Ankle Stretch, a move made famous by Flash's own countryman Dan Stone Jr.

Floyd Goldworthy: It's all over now. There's no way Steve can get to the ropes after the damage he's taken tonight. We about to see the crowning of a new champion!

Akili Umaga: As much as I hate to agree with you, you might be right.

Rock Downpour: Wait, wait a minute. The champ is making his way to the ropes. Can he do, can he get to the ropes!?

*ding* *ding* *ding*

Aklili Umaga: What's going on? Why is the bell ringing?

Floyd Goldworthy: What do you mean, what's going on? Do you need glasses or something? Steve tapped out to the Ankle Stretch. It's over. Hill won!

Akili Umaga: But I didn't see Steve tap. How is the match...

Rock Downpour: Sorry to interupt you Akili, but it seems our announcer is about to make an announcement.

Announcer: By the rules of Rapid Pro Wrestling, this match has gone for the allotted 30 minutes and has been declared a draw. Since titles cannot change hands on a draw, Steve Flash is still your RPW World Champion!

Floyd Goldworthy: NOOOOO!

Result: Brent Hill drew with Steve Flash in 30:00 when the time limit expired. Steve Flash retains the RPW World title.

Passing Thoughts on Clash Of The Titans

Seeing Morton and Jungle Jack get such a solid grade in the opener makes me happy that I decided to focus more on my undercard this time around. And who likes seeing Raven Nightfall in the role of the perky cheerleader? Cause that just happened!

Can anyone tell that I've been channeling CHIKARA with this diary? I just hope I don't get sued by Hydra for gimmick infringement. ;)

I loved the idea of Whippy having a "quick release" on his boot, but I don't know if it came off that well in execution. Oh well.

On the other hand, I felt that the time limit draw went just as well as it did in my head. Though, the finish was the same as a different match I did in a previous diary so all I needed to do was convert that match for this diary.

Finally, I love writing for heel announcers and having a three man booth. It allows me to have two of them arguing while the other can remain netural. And having Goldworthy play the fool is just too much fun.
