Is that THE Hogan? If so....wow,that's big....

Odd final matchup....Valiant and McGraw are kind of "midcard" i'd think, and SBS belongs nowhere near the final matchup of the night(at least not yet)...I only pray Funk/SBS going over Steamboat/Youngblood was due to some kind of "screwy" finish....which leads to a feud

My guess is that it's Dizzy Ed Hogan, aka Brutus Beefcake, who was in MACW around that time.

Ah,gotcha, for a moment I thought MACW managed a talent raid of epic proportions. :)

Random thoughts:

-Dick and Billy did a B-?Nick and Baron an A in the ME? The old guys have still got it,good stuff.....

-Kenny Jay with a win? That's awesome,he deserves one now and then.....Sodbuster for next AWA Champ! :)

-Patera and Hogan,it would be a classic "who is stronger?" feud,it may work...

-MACW put all the right people over,I smell a "Dusty chases the title" program....

Yea, I was a little surprised with the A rated main event, but hey, that's why I'm not the booker!:p

Keep the comments coming!

I will try to post recap type posts every two game weeks or every game month to provide my own little insight. Anyone else is welcome to do the same, since I am merely transferring the information and really have no control.

Like I said before, I will post "prediction" posts for the main supercards/pay-per-views. However, in order to do so, I will have to actually know what the results are obviously because TEW doesn't allow us to see other companies advanced bookings. I won't share those results with you all, though. I'll post the previews of the big shows for a day or so then post the results.

-Classic "old school" WWF card; well-known guys beat up some jobbers, then a few marquee matches....suprisingly 8 out of 11 were decent matches, and 3 of those were pretty good.

-Backlund and Andre with an A rated skit,wow....wonder if this means Andre is going heel....

-Muraco got a B- out of Putski? Put all belts on Muraco immediately!

-Bruno must be on his way out with a loss to Studd,I like Studd, still i think I'd rather have seen him put over someone with a little more gas in the tank than Studd.

-Pedro and Rocky over Sarge and Masked Superstar? what's up with that?

-AWA did "ok"...i was a little let down by the average rating on Martel/Graham

-Patera/Wahoo def. Hulk/Baron....I am lost as to who is a face and who is a heel here, odd pairings....

-MACW with a classic show, looks like the old MACW show, kinda average show saved by a good main....

-The right guys went over, but Slater should be with Orton, darnit!

-Nelson/Mosca,Jr.(love the tag team name, btw) over Dizzy"The Barber"Hogan/Bart for the Mid-Atlantic Tag belts? To qoute Schiavone.....yeah, that'll put butts in seats....I know it's an "undercard" belt and all,but it seriously needs some midcard love before it becomes a joke

Classic GCW booking....bunch of squashes to build people then a decent Main to build for the monthly show;shame that a couple clunkers pulled that rating down

Exactly my thoughts. Amazingly, the AI has done a decent job of capturing the era.. so far.

Nothing too exciting has happened yet, but I'm sure stories will pop up and relationships will be built and broken.

I might, at some point, even post news articles, where I will talk in first person and over-dramatize certain situations to make things more interesting. Possibly hold interviews and such also. Right now, though, in its infancy and in the infancy of pro-wrestling (so to speak), mostly results will be posted.

Standard fare from the WWF....the much older Ray Stevens over Backlund though....is Vince taking lessons from Verne Gagne now?

Yea, I've got to say, Backlund losing a non-title match in a main event was a little strange. In this case, VERY un-Vince-like, especially at the time when Vince was trying to build a superstar. However, this could be a precursor to Backlund losing the title soon.

-Bruiser vs. Crusher? Suprising move from the AWA, as those two have teamed so long they are almost mentioned as one...not suprising Bruiser went over considering how he is backstage, still I wonder if that is going somewhere or just a real odd one off match.

-Martel is working hard to make the TV title credible,he REALLY needs someone to handle his interviews though.

-Nick proved he is still the man by drawing a good match out of Hogan, which saved the show to some degree, way too many clunkers for it to be a great show though...

-MACW keeps on doing it right overall, Dory over Mosca,jr. was the absolutel right choice there, with his NWA Championship credentials and in-ring talent, maybe he can boost that belt up some.

-Overall a decent show, probably hurt by Mosca,Jr. more than anything....what a random Terry Funk appearance in that brawl though...and Valiant and Flair were in unrelated matches....please for the love of all that is good,do not make us suffer through a Nature Boy/Boogie Woogie program....

-Kind of a random show from the WWF....not bad except for two matches, though i guess that is to be expected from Tony Atlas and an unseasoned Eddie Gilbert...Muraco,Backlund, and Slaughter continue to carry it for them in the ring;if he can keep it up Sarge might become Vince's "next big thing",only thing holding him back is does not have the "look" the McMahons like in their top guys.

-IMO,it's looking more and more like Andre will go heel;it could work as he would be viable as a "monster" for Backlund or Hogan to feud with;they'd have to handle it carefully though,so Andre doesn't lose his "aura"

Super Cards In April

Below are the following super cards / pay-per-views to look out for this month:

  • AWA April Super Card: Tuesday, Week 3
  • WWF April Super Card: Frinday, Week 4
  • GCW April Spectacular: Friday, Week 4

OOC: If you would like to come up with a name for any of these super cards that might encapsulate the era or the current happenings, please give some suggestions. Who knows, they may be kept around for a while and become a part of wrestling history. I've noticed that the TEW AI won't change the name of annual monthly events (or at least not that I've seen). So, for now, Super Card works just fine, but I'm guessing as these companies grow and as these annual shows will be on pay-per-view, they will and should begin to have unique names.

Well, relavtively light card from the AWA(only 4 matches),they brought in good names for the Semi-ME and ME,it worked for them.

Egads, that MACW PPV was almost regular TV-quality for the first half, good action on the second half;the Apron Dwellers are killing me though, it's like the WCW booking committee from the 90's traveled back in time to book lousy tag team wrestling for the NWA,I can only hope they put those Mid Atlantic Tag Belts on a team like the Funks or the Briscos before they become a joke.

I think the WWF used to call their cards "Spectrum Wrestling" or "Madison Square Garden Wrestling" depending on which arena they were in, they won't work so well for TEW though.

Same with GCW,it was usually just "The Omni Big Show" or something similar, but that won't work for TEW.
