KOTO 2 : INTERNATIONAL WARFARE

Big Tournament tonight, as The Featherweights got in there for the title. But first, we had 4 Amazing Undercard match-ups, and we will start our review right now.

Mills Mullally came in to throw bombs But Washichi Kobayashi ducked low and took him down. Mullally managed to turn him over and beat him down for the rest of the fight, and won a fairly uneventful decision. Vagner also scored a great victory over Canadian Todd D'Abruzzo, in another lopsided Unanimous Decision. Michael Bannon was the first to score a finish, Stopping Neville Grandville with a risky Head Kick that dropped Grandville, and finished him off with some solid ground and pound. Drauzio Simaan was the last winner from the Undercard, beating Brit Ron Chuckle via a dominant Unanimous Decision.

The Tournament Quarter-Finals started off with a bang, when Ivan Bokhour dropped Sophan Sastrowardoya with a tough Right Hook, but Sastrowardoya was able to survive the onslaught and was able to get back up and take some more punishment from Bokhour. Bokhour took the Unanimous Decision and moved on to the Semi-Finals. KDMFC Import Kei Maki walked right through Dominic Ash, winning a dominant Unanimous Decision, landing punches and kicks at will. He faces off with Ivan Bokhour in the Semi-Finals. Reza Afshar surprised everybody in the audience, Knocking out Brazilian Import Luiz Machado with a beautiful Uppercut. Machado went down like a ton of bricks, and allowed Afshar to move on to the Semi-Finals. Lars Bohlin won an unsurprising Arm-Bar Submission over Norberto towards the end of the Third Round.

The Semi-Finals began as Kei Maki turned some more heads stopping Ivan Bokhour in under 30 Seconds with punches, that dropped Bokhour to the ropes, and finished him off with a murderous Right Hook that ended Bokhour's night, and sent Maki to the Finals. Lars Bohlin won yet another Submission victory, again by Arm-Bar, over Upset Artist Reza Afshar in a very exciting ack and forth bout. Bohlin is a very solid pick for the finals, and his bout with Kei Maki should be one for the ages.

Kei Maki and Lars Bohlin, The Upset Artist from China, taking on the Monster from Europe. Many were expecting Bohlin to win, but after this, everybody should expect the unexpected. Maki landed a monster Right Hook, Left Hook and Uppercut combo that smashed Bohlin to the ground, finishing him off with multiple punches, forcing referee Rick Bruce to end the fight in a minor 28 seconds. Kei Maki is now the KOTO Featherweight Champion.

The Fight of the Night went To Reza Afshar and Lars Bohlin, who put on a 1 Round Battle of Excitement that went Back and Forth. Submission of the Night also went to Lars Bohlin for his two Arm-Bars. KO of the Night obviously went to Kei Maki, for his outstanding Punch Combo, but Reza Afshar came close with his finish of Luiz Machado.

MMAFIGHTS NEWS

Hi this Is Cameron Leve from MMAFights.net, and tonight we will be looking at KOTO, The British Stronghold of MMA.

The Knights of the Octagon, have done everything from Title Tournaments to Major Signings, possibly one of the best signings possible. You heard it here first people, KOTO have picked up Rick Stanley, in a shocking turn of events, Stanley quit GAMMA to join KOTO, and his first fight could very well be at the next event. They've Also Picked up Francesco Marazzina, Aaron McBroom and Fernando Peragon, who are set to compete in the next tournaments.

We got to talk with President PJ Ouellet about what's happening, but he didn't say much.

I'm currently planning on an Ultimate Fighter-esque show where we bring in the best Unsigned Talent from around the world, and pit them against each other in challenges and fights, with some of the best coaches possible, can't say much about it though, but be prepared to see it start around June.

That's All for now folks, and join us next time for News From Pete Crimson's Side and more from PJ Ouellet.

NMFC 3: All or Nothing

Tonight we saw many great fights. Action was definately here tonight.

To started off the action tonight with a battle of two debuting fighters Zac Bacall went war against Randy Carsley. In the first, Bacall and Carsley both tried to take the fight to the ground. Bacall could not break Carsley's defence, while Carsley eventually got Bacall down. Carsley then smothered Bacall until a guillotine attempt from Bacall surprised him. Carsley took the first. In the second, Bacall tried to trap Carsley against the cage but found himself on his back, and soon mounted. from there Carsley quickly applied the armbar for the victory.

Two rookie strikers Tim Oldacres and Moss Gilbert fought next. They had a four round all-out brawl. They slugged it out every round with Oldacres almost winning in the third round after he rocked Gilbert with a big series of punches. But prettymuch the rest of the fight Gilbert had the advatage which won him the fight by majority decision.

The next fight was in the featherweight division. Razor sharp veteran Najib Sri Aziz bin Zai fought up and comer Sophan Sastrowardoya. Early in the first Sastrowardoya got a takedown and the onslaught began. he made bin Zai tap in less than a minute on the ground with an expertly applied americana.

Two debuting fighters in the lightweight divison were next. Bosco Curbeam and Matt Horowitz. Showing his wrestling skills Curbeam defeated Horowitz in less than a minute, when a takedown led straight to half-guard where he used an arm triangle to finish Horowitz off only 40 seconds into the fight.

The first heavyweight bout of the night mad NMFC history. Two hardcore brawlers Guy Broom and Neville Granville went all 4 rounds. Broom took an advantage early by getting a takedown in the first and rocking Granville with ground and pound. In the second Granville rocked Broom with a big shot when Broom was trying for a takedown. Third round went smoothly with Granville wobbled Broom twice. Fourth round saw Broom take down an exhausted Granville and get mount. Broom opend a gash under Granville's eye and got back mount. The match was scored once for Broom and twice for the 37-37 draw. The first in NMFC history.

in the Light Heavyweight division, Esteban Vega easily defeated Bart Diggs. He smothered him against the cage with ease the first round, then in the second he caught him in a Thai Clinch and knocked him out with a perfectly placed knee.

the next bout was for the Featherweight championship. Returning champion Hisamitsu Sasaki fought the debuting undefeated Ivan Bokhour. Bokhour easily took down the submission fight and surprisingly got his back. After Sasaki pretending he was a turtle for about a minute, Bokhour pounded him out with some nasty elbows as Sasaki did nothing. Referee John Brigguns called the fight after that.

In the co-main event, The Heavyweight champion defended his belt against Renato in a fight dubbed "Somebody's O must go." Renato took the first round only due to his decent takedown defence. While the second went way different. Santinho got a takedown immediately and got past guard. Santinho made him tap as soon as he got to half-guard with an arm triangle.

In the main event of the evening, two rising stars fought for the Light Heavyweight strap in front of the screaming Hawthorne fans. Adrian Pascal battled champion Julio Gutierrez. The fight went to round #8 with Pascal winning the fight by a round. Gutierrez out-wrestled Pascal and got a takedown. Pascal dealt with the champ's ground and pound easily. Then he got mounted. You could see the worry on the challenger's face as Gutierrez began dropping bombs. Pascal defended well, then all the sudden Gutierrez grabbed an arm surprising Pascal who was then forced to tap to the americana 2 seconds before the final round ended.

Quick results

KOTO 3 : BANGERS AND MASHERS

Bangers and Mashers came to go to war tonight, and proved it wasn't as dull as Dinner. The Undercard Action started with a war between Spencer Rubenstein and Adrian Swall. Swall tried to tie him up and bore his way to a victory, but Rubenstein did not allow it, instead pushing him away and throwing punches. Rubenstein managed to continue to push the pace and score a Unanimous Decision. Gareth Grundy also notched a big Win over Reinhardt Rhett, pushing the pace and taking him down for some brutal ground and pound en route to a Unanimous Decision. Templeton Crumb scored the first Finish of the night, Stopping Brad Wyman with Elbows in the first round, and pushed himself forward up the Welterweight Rankings. The Last Undercard action consisted of a war between Joaquim Fontes and Haranobu Oshiro in a Ground battle that went back and forth before Fontes secured the submission, and won the fight via Arm-Bar.

The Lightweight Tournament kicked off with H.M. Menzel and George Astaire. Menzel came in swinging and landed multiple punches and kicks before taking Astaire to the ground and dominating him there. He won a Unanimous Decision and moved on to the Semi-Finals. Moss Gilbert proved his worth, dominating Lucas Mueller with crisp punches and leg kicks, en route to a Unanimous Decision victory. He will face off with H.M. Menzel in the Semi-Finals. Georges Nourri scored a nice victory beating down Henry Baldwin en route to yet another Unanimous Decision. Aaron McBroom will be his opponent in the semi-finals, after his TKO victory over Grande Silveira.

H.M. Menzel came forward but got chopped down by the newcomer Moss Gilbert, getting Ground and Pounded and beaten down to yet another Unanimous Decision on the card. Moss Gilbert will meet up with Aaron McBroom in the Final, who Decisioned Georges Nourri.

Aaron McBroom had some trouble coming into the fight, but managed to get even as the fight progressed, but Moss Gilbert is some kind of animal, coming forward and dominating once again, en route to a Unanimous Decision and the Lightweight Championship of the World.

Fight of the Night went to Aaron McBroom and Moss Gilbert for their back and forth slug fest, and Submission of the Night went to Joaquim Fontes for his Arm-Bar. KO of the Night was awarded to Runner-Up Aaron McBroom for his Knockout victory over Grande Silveira

KOTO 4 : UPGRADE

Big Night of Big Fights, as we hit a major upgrade in ratings and popularity. The Preliminary action started off with the KOTO Battle Knight Fight. Helvecio Babenco and William Powell went to war for their spot in the house, and the Quarter-Finals. Powell stuck to his abilities though, and took Babenco down and quickly submitted him with an Americana. The Score is 1-0 for Ziskie.

Our new talent showcased their skills, As Manuel Silva made easy work of Kenneth Toadspew, Stopping him in the Third Round with a barrage of punches that spoiled the debut of 'The Spew Monkey'.

The Light-Heavyweight Title Tournament didn't hold back. William Harrison scored Major Damage on Derek South quickly, as Did Adrian Pascal over Bill Cumming, Both Wins coming before the Third Round. Jon Silvers won an eventful decision over Alekos Karabatsos, and Niko Soldo blasted Arkan Gleiser with a powerful knee to the face that knocked him out cold.

The Semi Finals began, as William Harrison scored another victory, this time by Unanimous Decision over Adrian Pascal, and Jon Silvers was halted with another Knee from Niko Soldo. Both Men would meet in the finals, and the Co-Main Event of the evening. The Finals didn't hold back any surprises as Niko Soldo and William Harrison fought to the finish in a Five Round War that had the crowd on their feet, and the judges awarded the victory to Niko Soldo, and the Light-Heavyweight Crown was now around his waist.

The Heavyweight Championship was now on the line, but surprises came up, as many thought Rick Stanley would just walk right through the Up-Start Murilo Satinho, but he let him do no such thing, Instead stopping him in the First Round with a Brutal Left Hook combo that had the referee stop the match. If Stanley couldn't hold his own more then that, I don't know who could.

Fight of the Night went to Niko Soldo and William Harrison for their back and forth War, and KO of the Night went to Murilo Satinho. Submission of the Night went to the first match up of the night, to William Powell for his Americana.

QUICK RESULTS

William Powell (10-7) def. Helvecio Babenco (10-4) via Submission (Americana) @ 3:57 of Round 1

Manuel Silva (3-0) def. Kenneth Toadspew (10-4) via TKO (Punches) @ 2:09 of Round 3

William Harrison (4-0) def. Derek South (14-4) via TKO (Punches) @ 2:38 of Round 1

Adrian Pascal (3-0) def. Bill Cumming (27-13) via TKO (Punches) @ 4:50 of Round 2

Jon Silvers (7-0) def. Alekos Karabatsos (12-5) via Unanimous Decision @ 5:00 of Round 3

Niko Soldo (3-0) def. Arkan Gleiser (7-4) via Knockout (Knee) @ 4:56 of Round 2

William Harrison (5-0) def. Adrian Pascal (3-1) via Unanimous Decision @ 5:00 of Round 3

Damn, Kei Maki is just a BEAST. In one of my games, he was dominating to the point that I, honestly, think he could never lose, and he still hasn't, as of my last playthrough. And that's at WELTERWEIGHT, let alone his natural division.

As for predictions, I like Sik to beat Campos to win the NMFC LW Title, Harrison to beat Soldo or Soldo to beat South (I'm really not sure on the winner of Harrison/South. That is a tough first round matchup) in the KOTO Light Heavyweight Tournament final, and Satinho to retain against Stanley. Don't really have a lot of time to get more in depth than that. :p

EDIT: And hey, just like that, an update. Well, I was right about Soldo and Harrison with my first instinct. I picked the wrong fighter to win, but what can you do? And hey, I got Satinho defending right! Maybe I'm on to something.

NMFC 4: Unlimited Ability

The night started off with two featherweights who are trying to make names for themselves. Tito del Sol battled Louie Sullivan. In the very first punches of the bout del Sol had rocked Sullivan. This one took less than 25 seconds.

Next was another featherweight bout involving Submission practicioner Pedro Alves fighting striker Liam O'Donnell. O'Donnell easily took the first two rounds due to his crisp striking ability. But about halfway throught the third, Alves got a takedown and destroyed the Ground game of O'Donnell getting an armbar.

To start our Heavyweight tourny tonight we saw two vets of the sport, Frank Sheedy and Brady Crawford, fight fo a spot in the finals. It didnt tak long at all for Sheedy to take Crawford down. After that Sheedy moved straight to mount and pounded him out.

In the next fight in the tourny, Spencer Rubenstein made quick work of Terry Bull. Destroying him with combinations in the first round. Less than a minute in, referee Joe Rodrigo stopped it.

Next, in the lightweight division, there was a four round slugfest between Watson Vianna and Lucas Mueller. Vianna destroyed him for 4 rounds straight with his better striking.

In the Light Heavyweight division, Logan Sky demolished Edward Zahn with his great striking. Threatening to knock Zahn out against the cage, the ref quickly stopped the fight.

In the Light Heavyweight divison, Affonso Villar and Ryuji Ganaha went to war. In a four round back and forth fight, it was declared a unanimous draw.

In the finals of our Heavyweight tournament, Spencer Rubenstein and Frank Sheedy fought for supremacy. They battled for 4 rounds, with Rubenstein coming out as the victor by split decision.

For the lightweight title, Min-Soo Sik fought champion Lazaro Campos in the main event. They fought back and forth for 8 straight rounds. The fight was declared a draw.
