Pride, Glory, Honor, and then there's Wrestling

Recommended Posts

I walked into the building expecting, a legit locker room with everybody getting ready for their matches, and I noticed this sign as I walked up to the door...

PRIDE

DEFINITION : The quality or state of being proud; inordinate self-esteem; an unreasonable conceit of one's own superiority in talents, beauty, wealth, rank, etc., which manifests itself in lofty airs, distance, reserve, and often in contempt of others.

GLORY

DEFINITION : Very great praise, honor, or distinction bestowed by common consent; renown: to win glory on the field of battle.

HONOR

DEFINITION : Honesty, fairness, or integrity in one's beliefs and actions

WRESTLING

DEFINITION : A sport in which two opponents struggle hand to hand in order to pin or press each other's shoulders to the mat or ground, with the style, rules, and regulations differing widely in amateur and professional matches

And "Believe it or Not", I guess that would become my trademark, somebody had screwed around with it.

EGOTISTICAL

DEFINITION : Scott Ripley

It Seems I was off to a Good Start

Meeting With The Boss

"Hello ? I'm Looking For Sadaharu Jimbo ?"

"In The Back Room, Knock First, He Hates it when people enter right away"

"Thanks"

I Knocked. It was the most nervous I'd ever been in my whole life. I had to just keep repeating to myself. I am Scott Ripley, I am in Japan, I am about to meet with my boss for the very first time. Oddly enough, just as I was repeating, he opened the door.

"So You're Scott. Come In, Come In."

"So You're Mr. Jimbo. It's a pleasure to meet you sir, I loved your matches in GCG, I went to see all of them live !"

"Really ? And How Old Are You ?"

"29"

"So, For you to have been able to come see my Matches Live would've been absurd, unless you had some kind of camera to see out of your mothers womb."

"Well, Yes... But... Um..."

"Settle Down Buddy, It's Okay, you've stayed composed much longer than the others I've brought in. Trying to make a good impression on the boss I see ? I completely understand, If you want to have a good time here, it's best you stay on my good side. You have 3 Strikes, do wrong 3 Times and you're out. Got It ?"

"Yes Sir, Mr. Jimbo ! I'll make sure these are the best years PGHW has ever seen !

"That's what I like to hear, but then again, time will only tell. You may now go, and start thinking about how you are going to book your first show. I'll call you back to meet with the current Champions later."

*grins* A trifle influenced, but influenced by one of the best out there, and hardly in direct competition. Looks interesting!

Thanks :) I had started writing and as soon as I posted I had just remembered about Casey's. It was completely Un-Intentional, and hope he doesn't take it the wrong way, I don't want to know what a great writer is like when he gets mad :p

Meeting With The Champs

"Back At HQ, I'm just walking through the Door, Alright, See You In A Bit"

I had just gotten off the Cell With Sadaharu, I was really just trying to get back down to earth. As I was walking up the stairs, I started repeating again. I am Scott Ripley, I'm in Japan, I'm At PGHW Headquarters, I am about to meet with the champs. And somehow out of nowhere I heard a voice.

"Ah, So You're My Competition !"

I immediately turned around and first thing I saw was Red Hair. It was Tetsunori Yasuda. I have got to stop talking to myself, I'm going to end up getting a Gimmick without even it being my style !

"Ah, I see you've met our Historical Champion ! Tetsunori Son, this is Scott Ripley, Our New Head Booker, and now your competition."

"Yeah, It was definitely an Odd Meeting, but a meeting is a meeting, and I guess I'll have to get acquainted anyways so, well, you get my point..."

"Sadaharu Son, Who the hell is this guy ?"

I turned around and damn was this guy Intimidating. Just by his hair I immediately new who he was.

"Oh My God It's Yoshimi Mushashibo !"

"In The Flesh, and you are ?"

I stuttered, I mean, what the hell do you expect me to do, The Guy is legendary !

"Sc... Scot... Stoc... Scott..."

"Ripley. His Name is Scott Ripley, I guess you have a Fan Yoshimi Son"

"I guess so, Hopefully he's got better in-ring skills than Up-Front Talking"

"Our Tag Team Champions should be getting here soon, Ah, Here they are ! I'd like to introduce you to Ryoma Muruyama and Masaru Ugaki"

"Sadaharu Son ? Who is This ?"

"I'm Scott Ripley"

"I'm Masaru Ugaki and this is Ryoma Muruyama, Nice to Meet You"

"I Guess I must be more popular and this must prove it Huh Ryoma Son, He Stuttered On My Name"

I Guess It was a Joke, but It seemed to rub Ryoma the wrong way. Although he didn't say anything, I could definitely see it.

"Well, it's definitely nice to meet you all, and I'll call you guys up when you have a match booked. I'll see you all bright and early tomorrow for Training."

I had to get out of there, I knew Ryoma was building up tension, but I didn't want to see it explode. So I naturally ended the meeting, and I'm going to have to be extra careful tomorrow at Training. Until Then, I guess I can only dream on it.

1st Training Session

I walked into the training center, and dude, was it ever huge ! I mean you have 3 Floors to this thing. 1st Floor is sort of the Saunas, Steam Rooms, Pools and basically the stuff like that. 2nd Floor was Weights, Wrestling Rings, Bags, Treadmills & Bikes, basically all that stuff. 3rd Floor, you've got Coaches teaching you how to do some of the stuff, and these aren't some Joe Schmoe Coaches that nobody has ever heard of, these are legends ! I mean, Sadaharu Jimbo even gets in on the action sometimes teaching some of our newer guys how to fight, but that's really some of that rare stuff that happens around here, and I guess I guess I picked my day.

"Hey fellas, how's it going.

"Not Bad Scott, Not bad at all, you wanna roll a little bit ?"

"Can't Right Now, gotta find Sadaharu."

"Ahh, well, if you need any help, you know where to find me. And little piece of advice, if you really want to get your self respected here, you should really use the System we have here, as in you have to build yourself up before even getting close to getting a title shot, and another thing, you should really start calling us by Our first names, and adding Son to the end, it's sort of a thing we got going on here"

"Will Do."

I walked upstairs to the Coaches section, and believe it or not, Sadaharu Jimbo was training one of our guys, I couldn't tell who it was, but it looked like somebody I haven't seen before in our Organization, but I'm sure I'll get acquainted with him quickly. So Naturally, he called me over, and before I even realized it he's got my Arm behind my back and ripping me to the floor.

"Holy Crap, I guess we don't get any breaks around here !"

"Scott Son, I'd like you to meet one of our younger guys, This is Joshua Son"

"Pleasure To Meet You, I'm Joshua Taylor, and I guess you must Be Scott Ripley. I've been dying to meet our new head booker ever since I heard the news"

"Likewise, I'm glad I'm starting to know the people around here."

"Scott, can you step into my office please ?"

I walked over to his office, and I guess it was something about the card, because I saw pictures of the whole roster, and their stats

"Alright, Here's the deal. We've got our tour coming up, and we're really looking for guys that could hold challenges to our guys."

"Well, I did have some Ideas..."

And Next thing you know I've pulled out a list of guys that I've sent out negotiations to :

Eisaku Hoshino

Chris Caulfield

Darryl Devine

Eric Tyler

Frankie Perez

Harumi Okazawaya

Joss Thompson

James Hernandez

Eventually I went back to training, and I noticed from the corner of my eye Yoshimi Mushashibo sparring with Ray Diaz, and If you haven't heard of Ray Diaz, the guy is describable in one word. Giant. And this wasn't that, you know, easy going, just for fun sparring, this was Straight Up Brutality. And Yoshimi was winning. So eventually it stopped, and about an hour later, I went home to start putting together potential match-ups for our next tour. And maybe even a couple Phone Calls. If you catch my drift...

So I heard some upsetting news today, Masayuki Shiga retired, and became a Road Agent. Which isn't all that bad, since He's a great Road Agent, but I was just upset in the sense that I didn't get to book him in a match before his retirement.

Anyways, to my signings. I lost Eisaku Hoshino to BHOTWG, who couldn't see that coming. And Darryl Devine, Eric Tyler and Chris Caulfield went off to SWF. However, I got Harry Simonson in their place, which I suppose is a good signing, but I got everybody else on my list, which is also a good thing.

Now, I've gotten around to posting a website for my new spot as Head Booker of PGHW, it's called Believeitornot.com, and on this site, I'll be holding weekly polls on what should happen in PGHW. You, the viewers, will be able to vote on these subjects and this will influence my Decision.

The First Poll :

Who Should Be Brought Up From SAISHO to compete with us ?

Stone Yoshikawa or Simon Flemmingway

Link to comment

Simon Flemmingway of course but he's a prick. Stone isn't that good in the start if I recall correctly. Chris Caulfield in PGHW? :E Harumi Okazawaya sucks bad. I'd really like to see the first show already :)

Chris Caulfield I was trying to Bring in because of his skills, and a brawler is always good for entertainment :D Harumi Okazawaya in my other games has become a monster, so I wanted to test him out on a Tour, and if he does well, i'll bring him in again, and If he succeeds again, I'll bring him in as a regular. That's basically my plans for everybody, except for Mainstream Hernandez, since I have him on a Written Deal, and am sending him down to development to get him more recognized in Japan.

And Thanks For Reading, I'll get the first show up soon :)

Booking Meeting

So The Elite Series is this month, and I've got Two Touring Events a week. The Elite Tour's First Three Shows will feature the first 8 match-ups for the Elite Qualifiers. I've booked all 8 so far, and that managed to fill up the whole show. 15 Minute Matches, ranging from Main Eventers to Upper Midcarders to Openers. Heavyweights to Lightweights to Middleweights and Giants.

Sadaharu brought me in to his office at the Stadium, and I showed him the card, It looked a little something like this :

Elite Series Qualifiers

Frankie Perez vs. Lee Bennett

Joss Thompson vs. Raymond Diaz

Eisaku Kunomusu vs. Noriyori Sanda

Junnosuke Fukazawa vs. Alexander Robinson

Nobuatsu Tatsuko vs. Buddy Garner

PRIDE Koiso vs. Ryoma Muruyama

Akinori Kwakami vs. Shuji Inukai

Bryan Vessey vs. Yoshimi Mushashibo

"Great Card so far, It should be interesting to see how the Tourney Develops, and at Night of PRIDE, it should be an interesting event."

"Thought So Myself, my personal thoughts were that It would be too early to match Mushashibo and Vessey Up in the tourney, but it should make for a great match, and give some of our prospects a better chance."

So, I waited at the stadium, and waited for the others to fight it out, but Training came first, so I tagged along with some of the others. Until the Tuesday Edition of the Elite Tour, see you all !

By The Way, the poll on my website, ends at the end of March, and you can check out PGHWOfficial.com to find out who it was

So is Thompson.

Kunomasu is a main eventer, Sanda is not.

Junnosuke Fukazawa vs. Alexander Robinson

Fukazawa is old and will be jobbed to those younger than him.

Nobuatsu Tatsuko vs. Buddy Garner

This was a tough one but I've never been a fan of Garner so..

PRIDE Koiso vs. Ryoma Muruyama

Koiso is better than Muruyama.

Akinori Kwakami vs. Shuji Inukai

Inukai > Kwakami.

Bryan Vessey vs. Yoshimi Mushashibo

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/EliteTour.gif</span><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>Elimination Round</strong></span></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/LeeBennett.jpg</span><span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/FrankiePerez.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>Lee Bennett vs. Frankie Perez</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Basic Brawling Match-Up, as Bennett was always pushing forward to try and score some heavy punches and ruthless elbows, but Perez was trying on the other hand, to land more technical strikes. Bennett eventually cracked him with a Right-Left-Right Combo that sent Perez to the canvas, and ending him with punches to win the bout.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WINNER : </strong>Lee Bennett via Knockout @ 4:46</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/RaymondDiaz.jpg</span><span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/JossThompson.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>Raymond Diaz vs. Joss Thompson</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Diaz's Size was just too much for Thompson, as the Giant basically was Walk-In, Walk-Out, No Harm Done, well, except for Thompson. Diaz came in very quickly, which was shocking for a guy his size, and landed instant punches, and dropped Thompson to the ground. But Thompson managed to stumble back to his feet. But, that wasn't exactly the best idea, as Ray just knocked him down again. He managed to drag him back to his feet, and hit a Powerdrive to the canvas. He proceeded to then beat him down once more and that was enough for the referee to stop the match.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WINNER :</strong> Raymond Diaz via Technical Knockout @ 4:04</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/NoriyoriSanda.jpg</span><span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/EisakuKunomasu.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

This was a very technical, legit, tactical battle between Sanda and Kunomasu. Kunomasu's better technique got the best of Sanda in this battle, as Kunomasu quickly shot in on him, and quickly put him in the corner, and proceeded to swivel around him and lock on to the mount position. Kunomasu followed up with some powerful Ground and Pound, and snatching away Sanda's Arm, and locking on to the Twister Arm-Lock. Sanda quickly tapped out, and gave Kunomasu the win.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WINNER : </strong>Eisaku Kunomasu via Submission (Twister Arm-Lock) @ 7:14</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/JunnosukeFukazawa.jpg</span><span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/AlexanderRobinson.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>Junnosuke Fukazawa vs. Alexander Robinson</strong></p><p> </p><p>

When Fukazawa was announced as a participant for this year's Tournament, everybody thought that he had absolutely no chance to win. But he proved the haters wrong, as he made easy work of Alexander Robinson, quickly slamming him to the ground, and engaging in a tactical battle, that won him most of the exchanges. When the fight went back to the feet, he kept him at bay with some nice, crisp punches, before shooting in again, which eventually won him a Unanimous Decision.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WINNER : </strong>Junnosuke Fukazawa via Unanimous Decision @ 15:00</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/BuddyGarner.jpg</span><span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/NobuatsuTatsuko.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>Buddy Garner vs. Nobuatsu Tatsuko</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Nobuatsu Tatsuko and Buddy Garner are both very talented grapplers, and proved that tonight, when Garner attempted a takedown, and Tatsuko sprawled almost on impact. Garner was eventually reversed and Tatsuko took Mount. Landed some light punches, and eventually took a High Mount, trapping Garner's arms next to his head, and throwing more and more punches to the head, before wrapping his leg around Garner's Head and Arms, and turning over into a Double Arm Triangle Choke. Garner lifted and tried to power out of it, but Tatsuko kept hold, and turned him back over and caused the Tap Out.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WINNER : </strong>Nobuatsu Tatsuko via Submission (Double Arm Triangle Choke) @ 6:13</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/RyomaMuruyama.jpg</span><span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/PRIDEKoiso.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>Ryoma Muruyama vs. PRIDE Koiso</strong></p><p> </p><p>

PRIDE Koiso is one of our top prospects, and could easily become one of our biggest stars in the future. Ryoma Muruyama on the other hand, is one of our current champions. PRIDE Koiso came in very quickly, and pounded out the Champ, landing some quick, crisp punches and kicks, and beat down on the champion before shooting in on him. PRIDE Koiso eventually passed to mount and pounded him out, before Muruyama tapped out to the strikes.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WINNER : </strong>PRIDE Koiso via Submission (Strikes) @ 5:11</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/AkinoriKwakami.jpg</span><span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/ShujiInukai.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>Akinori Kwakami vs. Shuji Inukai</strong></p><p> </p><p>

The Legend really proved his skills in this match, dominating Up And Comer Akinori Kwakami. Kwakami tried to scrap with Inukai, but Inukai managed to duck low and take him down. Inukai quickly rotated around and dropped elbows from the side control, and landed multiple more from the Mounted position. Inukai eventually locked on to an Arm-Lock, but Kwakami managed to power out of it. Inukai continued this style of fighting until he managed to win a Unanimous Decision.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WINNER : </strong>Shuji Inukai via Unanimous Decision @ 15:00</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/BryanVessey.jpg</span><span>http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/PGHW/YoshimiMushashibo.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>Bryan Vessey vs. Yoshimi Mushashibo</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Very Tentative start to the match, and Mushashibo was the first to make a move when he pressed the action, but Vessey shot in, and Mushashibo was able to sprawl out. Vessey shot back in, and this time got the takedown, but Mushashibo got back to his feet, and pulled guard with a Triangle Choke. Vessey hit a beautiful slam, and Mushashibo released the hold, but Vessey got caught again, this time with a Mushashibo Choke, and Vessey was forced to tap out.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WINNER : </strong>Yoshimi Mushashibo via Submission (Mushashibo Choke) @ 11:14</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#0000FF;">LEARN THE MOVES !</span></span></p><p> </p><p>

Hey guys ! I'm Scott Ripley, and today, I'm going to be teaching you one of the moves used in the tournament openers tonight. It was pulled off by Nobuatsu Tatsuko. Here's how to do the Double Arm Triangle Choke.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Step One</strong></p><p>

Hold on to both arms, and pull your legs up.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Step Two</strong></p><p>

Latch your legs together, and tighten the choke.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Step Three</strong></p><p>

Once you've latched on and started tightening it, take one of your legs, and put your foot under your other knee.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Step Four</strong></p><p>

Pull down on the head, and constrict your opponent until he taps out.</p><p> </p><p>

And that's all for tonight folks, if you want to find out the new brackets, check out my website, or wait until Saturday, Good Night Everybody !</p></div><p></p><p></p>

7/8 right. Where are the grades? Like the tournament graphic. You have good layout here, just my opinion is that you need to flesh out the show report somehow. Also noticed a MMA-style way to book PGHW.. I'm not sure of the direction but hey I'll still be reading and following this! <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

The Grades and Show info will come up in a news segment, like Bigpapa's Diary (I.e. The Fry Report) And I've sent you a PM about fleshing out the show, since I'd love to have some help from one of the better writers on the board <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
