WEXXV: "Lost in Translation"

"Have you ever seen the movie "Lost in Translation"? The one where Bill Murray plays an over-the-hill actor who goes to Japan to film a Suntroy Whiskey commercial and he gets treated like a king the second he steps foot on Japanese soil. Yeah, that's all bull****.

My name is--well that doesn't really matter - I was a wrestler who never really made it. I traveled from town to town, state to state, country to country, wrestling in hardcore matches night after night. My pipe dream was that one day somebody special would be sitting in the crowd and see me and I'd be wrestling professionally as a career. Well my pipe dream came true and now all I wish is to wake up from this nightmare.

December 11th 2007, I was wrestling a very small show in California and Ryu Kajahara was sitting in the crowd. Ryu Kajahara is somewhat of a Japanese celebrity. He became famous for being absolutely insane, taking unimaginable risks that would scar any normal man and it didn't hurt that he had charisma leaking out of his ears.

After my match, Ryu met up with me and told me how impressed he was with me, of course speaking in the worst broken English known to man. I gave Ryu my business card and went to bed with hopes of making a living wrestling in Japan. The next day, my phone rang, it was the hardcore enigma himself."

Ryu Kajahara: You come to Japan today? I get you a flight now, okay?

Me: Huh? Who is this?

Ryu Kajahara: This is Ryu. I need you in Japan, you come?

Me: Oh...Ryu Son, I didn't recognize your voice. You want me to wrestle in Japan?

Ryu Kajahara: Not wrestling. I need you to book. You book my show now, okay?

Me: Book?! No-no-no- I'm not a booker. I haven't a clue on where to even start.

Ryu Kajahara: Good. I pay you 8,000 yen a week. Okay? Bye!

"Then he just hung up. 8,000 yen a week sounded like a lot at the time. It wasn't untill I got there that I figured out that it converted to $89 US. I suck.

So I flew to Japan and was immediately met by a young and humble Japanese man, his name was Koji Yattaman, his English was just as horrible."

Koji Yattaman: You booker for Ryu Kajahara? You come with me, okay?

"I followed young Koji, asking him dozens and dozens of questions about his country, he seemed happy to answer my questions as best as he possibly could. He brings me to an old run-down hotel, the owner is asleep behind his desk, a Japanese cartoon is blaring on his mini-tv screen. We walk past him and head to my room."

Koji Yattaman: You room "323". I leave now. Meet you tomorrow, okay? Bye!

"Koji runs off, leaving me at the footsteps at my hotel door. I turn the knob and step inside my hotel room. A shadowy figure is sitting ontop of my bed, I quickly turn on the lights. An older man in a white cloak with a cigar lit in his mouth sits on my bed. I keep my distance."

Me: Sorry - I thought this was my room...

Older Japanese man: Stop! You are in the right room. My name is Motoichi Arakida.

Me: Motoichi Arakida? I've heard of you! You were the BHOTWG Champion in the 80's, weren't you?

Motoichi Arakida: I was a 3-time BHOTWG Champion, many call me the "Japanese Defender" as I defended the championship against dozens of foreigners. Ryu hired me to help you out with your job. Since I've worked with so many foreigners I'm one of the very few Japanese who can speak English fluently.

"Motoichi Arakida takes a puff of his cigar and puts it out on my desk."

Me: Good. I need all the help I can get, I don't know a thing about booking.

Motoichi Arakida: You don't need to know anything. Booking does not come from the mind but from the heart and soul.

Me: Hmm...is there at least any guidelines?

Motoichi Arakida: Ryu has written out a few goals...

"Motoichi takes out a nicely folded piece of paper from his pocket on the side of his cloak. I didn't even know that cloaks had any pockets. I read over the guidelines, my jaw dropped. If booking came from the heart and soul then why are there so many rules?"

Goals

#1 WEXXV must gain popularity in Japan

#2 Kimitada Ohishi must be kept above C+ grade momentum

#3 You cannot hire or extend the contract of anyone who has less than D- Charisma

#4 You cannot hire or extend the contract of anyone who has problems with the law

Me: I don't think I can do this. Please thank Ryu for me but I'm not the man for the job.

Motoichi Arakida: A warrior does not give up when all seems lost. Trust me, stay and you will not regret it.

Me: But-

Motoichi Arakida: Stay. I will not leave your side.

Me: Okay...I'll try but I wont make any promises...

Motoichi Arakida: Good. Rest tonight. Tomorrow we'll talk to Ryu.

"Arakida walks out of my room, I fall onto my bed. The jetlag must've gotten to me because I immediately passed out. I woke up the next day, Motoichi Arakida and Koji Yattaman were standing above me."

Motoichi Arakida: Gather your things, we leave in 5 minutes.

Me: What time is it?

Motoichi Arakida: It doesn't matter what time it is, we are leaving in 5 minutes.

"I quickly splashed water across my face and headed out with Motoichi and Koji. We take a taxi to a broken down and old apartment, it's the WEXXV offices. After walking up 5 flights of stairs we finally get to the office. Inside, Ryu Kajahara is sitting behind a very messy desk, his head covered in papers."

Motoichi Arakida: Ryu son, good morning.

Ryu Kajahara: Yes, okay. You come, good. Now you book, okay? Sit! Sit!

"Ryu forces me to sit at his desk. He points at a long piece of paper, it's a booking sheet for the very first Tour of 2008, "New Years Deathcamp Tour". There's 5 shows in total. I stared at the sheet, blankly, Motoichi leans over and whispers "Look into your heart". I put the pen on the paper and started writing. Before I knew it, I finished booking the entire tour."

Best worker's you've got in Ryu and Larry.

Munemitsu Senmatsu defends against Travis Century

Senmatsu is right behind Ryu and Larry. You can't go wrong with A menace.

Gareth Wayne vs Hiroshi Morisue

Can't go wrong with B+ menace :p

Naga-Mori (Mamoru Nagahama & Matsudaira Morioka) defend against The American Psychos (Henry Lee & Doug Peak)

Naga-Mori plainly suck and they really don't fit into WEXXV. However the crowd will crap on TAP.. For awhile.

Saneatsu Shigemitsu takes on Nobuhito Ogiwara in their WEXXV return

Zeshin Makioka vs Battle Sakata

Sakata is stable worker, Makioka is just too young and unknown.

Fair warning don't go too cult too fast just ask Fin what happens hehe. (Bankruptcy and fast!)

*COUGH* Yeah.. Try avoiding Cult like plague. I mean, really. Once you get that mail that you've risen to Cult. You're done for. Unless you have a million in the bank. Then you might survive for half a year. Try building one region to atleast C, C+ to B- if possible. It is the only way to survive. Have Kanto, Kinki or Tohoku really high before hitting Cult.

Thanks for the advice. The first show is already done but I'm going to start to take it slow from here.

<strong>Me</strong>: Okay I will. Oh...Motoichi-son, thank you...</p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="color:#FF0000;">"Motoichi nods his head then bows, he disappears into the shadows, off to assist any of the fighters with their problems. </span></em></p><p><em><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></em></p><p><em><span style="color:#FF0000;">

<strong>Battle Sakata vs Zeshin Makioka</strong></p><p>

Battle Sakata defeats Zeshin Makioka in WEXXV's first match of 2008. The match was decent, nothing that really stands out. Sakata pins Makioka following a Tornado DDT ontop of a pile of Thumbtacks. </p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Ryu Kajahara walks out to a huge ovation. He takes a look at all of the fans scattered across the hall, the Hardcore Enigma puts a smile on his severally scarred face. <strong>Glass Plate Deathmatch</strong></p><p><strong>

Saneatsu Shigemitsu vs Nobuhito Ogiwara </strong></p><p>

Both of these men haven't been seen in WEXXV since 2005 and the fans didn't enjoy seeing them back. A very poor match between these two. Nobuhito picks up the win after he Powerbombs Saneatsu through a Glass Plate which was held inbetween two open chairs. </p><p>

<strong>Winner: Nobuhito Ogiwara (7:46 F+)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Warriors Heart Championship Match</strong></p><p><strong>

Good hard hitting match. Minemitsu Senmatsu retains his championship after hitting Travis Century with a Top Rope Chairshot. These two had good chemistry with each other. </p><p>

<strong>Blood Brothers Championship Match</strong></p><p><strong>

Naga-Mori© vs American Psychos</strong></p><p>

The crowd hates the Gaijin foreigners, Henry Lee & Doug Peak. Each wrestler was given a Chair wrapped in Barbwire which they used over and over again as a weapon. Naga-Mori retained the titles with a Barbwire Con-Chair-Co on Doug Peak. </p><p>

<strong>Winners and still Champs: Naga-Mori (11:42 E+)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>100 Lighttubes Deathmatch</strong></p><p><strong>

100 Lighttubes were wedged inbetween the ropes before the match started. Within a matter of minutes, both men were a bloody mess. Dozens of Lighttubes were smashed across both wrestler's head and back. Gareth Wayne picked up the win after Piledriving Hiroshi Morisue ontop of 5 Lighttubes. </p><p>

<strong>Winner: Gareth Wayne (7:17 D-)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Barbwire Tag Team Deathmatch</strong></p><p><strong>

The Wild Things vs Ryu Kajahara & Larry Wood</strong></p><p>

All 3 ropes were replaced with Barbwire, in the turnbuckles laid 4 Barbwire Boards. Before there was anybody in the ring, the fans already knew that this was going to be a bloodbath. The match ended up being a very good and bloody brawl. All 4 men bled and got cut open by the Barbwire. Larry Wood ended up pinning Kimitada Ohishi after he wrapped his entire arm with Barbwire and hit him with a Lariat. </p><p>

Japan's #1 Sports Newspaper

Jan. 2008

Kimitada Ohishi challenges Larry Wood!!

Last night, Warrior Engine XXV held it's first show of 2008. Around 284 people jam packed the Gunma Hall to witness a Tag Team Barbwire Ropes Deathmatch featuring Ryu Kajahara & Larry Wood take on the Wild Things.

While Ryu Kajahara was true to his word, the match was very bloody and violent, he wasn't the one to pick up the win for his team. Larry Wood surprisingly picked up the pinfall following a Barbwire Lariat to Kimitada Ohishi.

As Ryu & Larry celebrated with the fans inside of the ring, Kimitada threw a huge fit backstage.

"That punk got lucky!! There's no way he can ever beat me one-on-one! NEVER!!", Kimitada yelled as he tossed chairs and various objects across the dressing room.

Before he could get away from Kimitada's path of destruction, he made us promise to print the following, "I wan't you to print this understand! Larry Wood, I have no respect for you untill you beat me, man-to-man, one-on-one! I don't care what type of match it is, as long as I can have you all to myself!! And if I don't see this printed in your Newspaper tomorrow morning, I will find you and rip your tiny throats out!! Got It?!?!".

With a threat like that how can we not oblige. We'll keep you posted on wether or not Larry Wood accepts Kimitada Ohishi's challenge.

Munemitsu vs Gareth for the Warrior's Heart Title

What's already signed for this weekends card is a Warrior's Heart Championship match between Munemitsu Senmatsu and Gareth Wayne.

Both Munemitsu and Gareth won their own respective matches last night. Munemitsu retained his championship against Travis Century while Gareth Wayne defeated Hiroshi Morisue in a very bloody 100 Lighttubes Deathmatch.

After Gareth's match, he demanded a title shot at WEXXV's next show which Munemitsu gladly accepted.

"I don't care who I fight or where I fight! As long as I'm fighting, I am happy!! Gareth fought with a lot of heart against Hiroshi in a 100 Lighttubes Deathmatch but he's going to need a lot more than heart to take away the title from me!", Munemitsu Senmatsu told us.

When we asked him what type of match he'll be defending his Championship in, he told us the following, "Truthfully, I was very inspired after watching the 100 Lighttubes Deathmatch. A lot of people, including Gareth Wayne, will tell you how tough it is to fight with 100 Lighttubes surrounding you, well we'll see how much more tough it is to fight with 1,000 Lighttubes.".

So it seems that the Warrior's Heart Championship will be defended in a 1,000 Lighttubes Deathmatch!

Hiroshi vs Eiichi & 6-Man Tag Match

Also scheduled for this weekend, Hiroshi Morisue vs the returning, Eiichi Umehara. We haven't seen Eiichi in WEXXV since late 2005, can he make a successful return?

And a huge 6-man No Holds Barred Tag Team Match, the Blood Brothers Champions, Naga-Mori & Battle Sakata will battle against Team Gaijin: The American Psychos & Travis Century!

Larry Wood accepts the Challenge!

A few days ago, we published a one-on-one challenge made by Kimitada Ohishi, today we can finally publish the response.

"I've battled some of the biggest and most dangerous Mountains in all of Canada. Kimitada Ohishi doesn't scare me one bit! If he wants to fight me, one-on-one, well then you tell him that I'll bring my Axe and I'll chop him down to the ground!", Larry Wood replied.

Well it's now official, Larry Wood will take on Kimitada Ohishi in what will surely be an All-Out War!!

Ryu Kajahara vs Saionji Omura headlines Night 2

Adding to what seems like an already stacked card, Ryu Kajahara will take on Saionji Omura in a Barbwire Tables Match.

Saionji Omura has apparently promised victory, "I've wrestled for many, many years...all over the world. Not only do I promise victory but I also promise the destruction of the heroic Ryu Kajahara!"

Warrior Engine XXV returns to the Gunma Hall this Saturday for their second show of the "New Years Deathcamp Tour". You can by tickets at the door for $10.

"So rumor has it, Kimitada Ohishi hates me. Oh well. Apparently, he complained about me being late to Ryu and tried to get me fired but for some whacky reason, Ryu wants to me stay.

I made sure to arrive early at WEXXV's next show, by early I mean like 12 hours early!! These Japanese wrestlers don't mess around.

I make my rounds, greeting everyone and anyone that passes by. Once I was done shaking 100 hands, I sat down and tried to eat my Breakfast. I got about 2 bites of my Egg Sammich untill a huge shadow casted over me. I looked up, it was Motoichi Arakida and standing next to him was a 6'7" 280 pound Japanese youngster, Munemitsu Senmatsu.

Munemitsu Senmatsu, is the current Warrior's Heart Champion, he graduated from Golden Canvas Grappling's camp in 2005 but was not kept on the main roster. Many say that although he has great size and ability, a lot of people do not see a future in him. In 2006, WEXXV took a shot at him and he quickly won the Blood Brother's Championship and shortly after the Warrior's Heart Title. Ryu has put everything in Munemitsu, hoping he'll be the next big thing to carrey the company but the crowd has yet to be fully behind him."

Motoichi Arakida: I'd like to introduce you to Munemitsu Senmatsu...

Me: It's nice to meet you...

"Munemitsu Senmatsu bows and shakes my hand. He seems to be a gentle giant. Thank God!"

Motoichi Arakida: Ryu wanted you two to meet and talk over some ideas. He has spent a lot of valuable time and money on Munemitsu, so make sure that he is very well taken care of...

Me: Cool. So Munemitsu-son, do you have any ideas about where you wanted to go, character-wise?

Munemitsu Senmatsu: Ahhh...ummm...I try very hard but fans not like me much. I don't want to make Ryu mad.

Me: Hmm...well you've been a Heel for awhile. That worked for you when you were destroying guys like Ryu and Larry but I think it's time for you to turn Face. The crowd will really dig the change and you'll get a chance to freshen up your character.

Munemitsu Senmatsu: Me? Face? Ahhh....okay. How?

Me: Well you beat Travis Century who's a very strong Heel, not only is he a Gaijin but he's also a Preacher, the fans can't stand him. I'm thinking, since he's such a great Heel if we pair you two together in a couple of matches, there's no doubt that the fans will start cheering you.

Munemitsu Senmatsu: Me and Travis-son? Okay. I try very hard to be face. Thank you.

Me: No problem. I'll come up with some more ideas and toss it your way.

No Holds Barred 6-Man Tag Team Match

Battle Sakata & Naga-Mori vs "The Preacher" Travis Century & The American Psychos

Show kicked off with a huge 6-man brawl. All 6-men fought around the entire hall, using whatever they can get their hands on as weapons. Although it wasn't much of a much, more like a fight, it was somewhat decent. Travis Century pinned Battle Sakata following the Salvation.

Winners: American Psychos & Travis Century (7:53 E+)

The King of the Deathmatch Champion, Koichi Kajiwara, made his way out to sit by ringside and match the following bout. The crowd doesn't seem to happy to see him but he doesn't care, ignoring them as he waits for the following match to start.

Koichi's a big and thick former Japanese Rugby player who weighs at 275lbs. He's very powerful and has a terrible attitude.

Extreme Singles Competition

Hiroshi Morisue vs Eiichi Umehara

Hiroshi absolutely destroys the returning Eiichi. He beats him down then decides to put an end to his destruction by hitting a Running Powerslam onto an open chair.

Winner: Hiroshi Morisue (6:58 E)

Afterwards, Hiroshi Morisue gets in Koichi Kajiawara's face. Hiroshi asks when he'll get a title shot but Koichi refuses to respond. Hiroshi spits in Koichi's face which leads to a huge pull-apart.

Rating: E

All-Out War Grudge Match

Kimitada Ohishi vs "The Mountain Man" Larry Wood

A very hard hitting match. During the first couple of minutes, Larry Wood was beating down Kimitada, hitting him with all that he got untill Kimitada nails Larry across his mid-section with a Chairshot. It looks as if Larry Wood cracked a couple of ribs from that chairshot. Later on, Larry finds some Barbwire underneath the ring, he wraps it around his arm and calls for a Barbwire Lariat, Kimitada ducks and applies the Stomach Claw. It isn't long untill Larry Wood passes out from the pain and the ref is forced to stop the match.

Winner: Kimitada Ohishi (11:47 D)

1,000 Lighttubes Deathmatch

for the Warrior's Heart Championship

Munemitsu Senmatsu defends against Gareth Wayne

The ring is covered in Lighttubes. The wrestlers broke lighttubes just trying to get inside of the ring. Right off of the bat, both fighters smash lighttubes over each others heads. Gareth uses a broken piece of Lighttube to cut Munemitsu wide open. Munemitsu placed a dozen of Lighttubes in the corner then Powerbombed Gareth into the turnbuckle, shattering all of the Lighttubes in the process. Senmatsu picked up the win and retained his championship.

Winner: Munemitsu Senmatsu (9:41 D+)

After the match, Travis Century runs out and attacks Munemitsu from behind. He DDT's him ontop of 5 Lighttubes. Century kneels beside the Warrior's Heart Champion and starts to pray, he crosses himself then rolls out of the ring and walks to the back.

Rating: E+

Barbwire Tables Match

Saionji Omura vs Ryu Kajahara

4 Barbwire Tables were placed outside of the ring before the match started. Both men attempted to dump each other ontop of the tables during the entire match to no luck. Saionji sets Ryu ontop of the turnbuckle and attempts to Superplex him through a Barbwire Table. Ryu manages to block the Superplex attempt and shoves him, back first, through the table.

Winner: Ryu Kajahara (12:19 C+)

Ryu Kajahara grabs a microphone once the match was done. He said that Larry Wood suffered severe internal injuries during his match against Kimitada. He warns the Tokyo Tornado that he's coming after him to redeem his fallen friend.

"The Rising Sun"

Japan's #1 Sports Newspaper

Here are some quick results from last night's "New Years Deathcamp Tour: Night 2":

American Psychos & Travis Century def. Battle Sakata & Naga-Mori

Hiroshi Morisue def. Eiichi Umehara

Kimitada Ohishi def. "The Mountain Man" Larry Wood

Munemitsu Senmatsu retains against Gareth Wayne

Ryu Kajahara def. Saionji Omura

Ryu Kajahara says he'll fight Wild Things anywhere, any time!

Last night, Kimitada Ohishi viciously defeated Larry Wood and caused internal injuries in the process. While Ohishi prides himself in injuring Larry, Ryu see's no honor in the Tokyo Tornado's actions.

"There's no honor in injuring a man. We all must fight to provide food for our families and income to keep a roof over our heads. Because of Kimitada, Larry Wood will have to sit at home, without work untill he has healed.", Ryu explained.

Although his friend will be out of action untill the very end of the tour, Ryu vows to take on Wild Things, even if it means fighting them alone.

"I will redeem Larry Wood by taking down the Wild Things. Night 3 of the tour, I will fight them in a Falls Count Anywhere match, even if I have to fight them alone I vow to obtain vengeance!".

So Night 3 of the "New Years Deathcamp Tour" will feature Ryu Kajahara taking on the Wild Things in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Can our Hardcore Leader survive a 2-on-1 beating?

Koichi Kajiawara says Hiroshi Morisue doesn't deserve a Title Shot...yet

Last night, the King of the Deathmatch Champion, Koichi Kajiawara, sat by ringside to do a little studying. After watching Hiroshi Morisue destroy Eiichi Umehara, Hiroshi asked when he'll get his title shot. The question quickly lead to a pull-apart.

"I was not impressed with Hiroshi's skill. He fought a much less experienced fighter and dominated but when fighting someone with a much greater skill, like Gareth, he stands no chance. He will not get a Title shot untill he deserves one.", Koichi Kajiawara said.

Koichi will make his first title defense of the year when he takes on Hiroshi's occasional tag team partner, Battle Sakata. Many people have said that the only reason Battle Sakata is getting a title shot is because Koichi thinks it'll anger Hiroshi.

Travis Century wants to save Warrior's Heart Champion's Soul

After Munemitsu Senmatsu retained his title against Gareth Wayne, Travis Century ambushed the champion from behind. We caught up with "The Preacher" and asked him what was his motivation behind the attack,

"Munemitsu lives a life of sin." Travis Century proclaimed.

"He has left a trail of blood behind him and that trail will lead him to hell. The only way to save his soul is to take away his title. I won't stand by and watch another man's soul burn in hell, I will save him!"

Although we couldn't get ahold of Munemitsu for a comment, we know that Travis Century will be taking on Saneatsu Shigemitsu at Night 3. Will Travis continue his momentum by winning another match? Will the Warrior's Heart Champion be there to respond to Travis' vicious attack?
