The World's Most Exciting Wrestling Promotion

Recommended Posts

“The world's most exciting promotion”, Pro Wrestling MAX promotes a no-limits environment where the best wrestlers from around the world can showcase their athletic talents. They are very influenced by the Japanese wrestling culture, especially in their blending on stiff moves with effective submission holds, and their respect for genuine fighting skills. They have the potential to become a huge underground cult hit.

Started up by a promoter who loves wrestling to the fullest extent – Pro Wrestling MAX has a star studded line up for its debut. Both new workers and relatively known wrestler’s have joined the promotion for it’s big debut scheduled on Friday, Week 3, February.

The known stars scheduled to debut in this promotion range from former DaVE stalwart JD Morgan, to Costal Zone Championship Wrestling’s Black Eagle (known as Plague in CZCW) and finally Mid Atlantic Wrestling’s Erik Strong. The unknown scheduled to debut in the promotions inaugural event include Sergeant Bubba Lee West; who is a former Army Range who only recently came into the wrestling business. Former GCG dojo graduate SUKI has also been asked to participate in the inaugural events. Another unknown from the rising sun; KAZ, comes along with SUKI.

Along with known wrestlers, there are known staff coming out in style at PWMAX’s first event. One of those is DaVE’s former lead announcer Mitch Naess. Naess, who now works in Philadelphia with PSW is said to be delighted to be offered more work – and hopes to deliver a great experience on DVD releases and such. ‘Crippler’ Ray Kingman has also joined the staff team at PWMAX as a road agent. Probably the best technician of the 1970’s and 80’s said he was hoping to watch some of the excellent matches that are to be. Also coming down from Philadelphia’s PSW league is Doc Messing. The popular radio host who has gone down a storm in PSW hopes that much line Naess, he can deliver a great and entertaining experience in the company.

The company has recently launched it’s website: http://www.pwmax.com where their roster page has been finalized.

“MR. SUBMISSION” AL COLEMAN

Midcarder

“Mr. Submission” Al Coleman first came to people's attention in MAW, where he was one of the members of the original roster. He was portrayed as the protege and tag team partner of the company's champion, The Mean Machine, which meant he got a prime role on shows. Unfortunately his attitude, which has been called into question even before his MAW run, got the better of him, and with reports of him causing locker room unrest he was released towards the end of 2006. He was out of work for almost a year until Coastal Zone Championship Wrestling offered him a second chance at success.

In 2006 he completed his very first tour of Japan, working for WLW, and won many plaudits for his great matches. Outside of the ring, Eagle is known to be dating AAA star Raven Nightfall.

BURNING MAX

Midcard

Burning EXILE (Oniji Taka****a) is a talented but controversial Japanese wrestler, better known as Burning Taka****a. Originally a young sensation for BHOTWG, he got himself fired after an altercation with owner Kaneie Komine. From there he moved on to WLW, where he rebuilt his career with some incredible performances. In late 2006 history repeated itself, as he got himself fired again. He went on to declare himself a freelancer, and changed his name to Burning EXILE to reflect his status.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_CitizenX.jpg

CITIZEN X

Upper Midcard

Citizen X is a charismatic high flier, best known for his work with CZCW with whom he worked from 2004 to 2007. He originally wrestled under the name E.M.M. Moe, and was a bizarre comedy character. However, upon returning from an injury-enforced three month break in August 2006, he reinvented himself as the deadly serious Citizen X, an anarchist who had become so disillusioned with corporate America that he was determined to destroy all forms of organisation, including CZCW itself. Ironically, he genuinely did become disillusioned with the company when a pay rise request was refused, and he walked out in 2007. He debuted for Mid Atlantic Wrestling shortly afterwards.

CRAIG PRINCE

Road Agent

“The Shooter” Craig Prince was a fine technical worker, whose career was cut short thanks to a massive knee injury. He first tasted fame with NOTBPW during the mid 1990s, where he was a two time champion, scoring victories over legends like Jeremy Stone and Haruki Kudo along the way. He later headed to CGC, where more title victories awaited, before finishing his career with TCW (then called HGC) where he was an International title winner. He retired in 2001, when surgery couldn't fix his knee.

CRIPPLER RAY KINGMAN

Road Agent

“Crippler” Ray Kingman is one of the icons of 1970s \ 1980s wrestling, where he was one of the most successful grapplers in North America. He retired in 1992, and is now happy to watch his son Barry continue the family legacy while he does occasional road agent work.

“TRIPLE THREAT” DAVIS WAYNE NEWTON

Opener

“The Triple Threat” Davis Wayne Newton is a young wrestler who is loaded with potential. A naturally gifted athlete who could excel at any sport, he brings a superb all-round game to the table, being able to brawl, counter wrestle, or take to the air. Other than injuries, there doesn't seem to be much that can stop the blue chipper from Toronto becoming a major player. He made his pro debut in May 2007, working for 4C.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_DocMessing.jpg

DOC MESSING

Colour Commentator

Sid “Doc” Messing is a popular Pittsburgh radio host who became involved in the wrestling business in 2007 when Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling took a gamble and brought him in to be their new colour commentator. A fan of the business, he has quickly become a popular member of the PSW team.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_ErikStrong.jpg

“SHOOTING STAR” ERIK STRONG

Main Event

“The Shooting Star” Erik Strong first came to people's attention during his rookie year, for his work on the independent circuit. A high flier who could take some of the sickest bumps imaginable, his matches caught the eye of the fans, and his hard work ethic caught the eye of Rip Chord, who brought him into Mid Atlantic Wrestling. He was originally a tag team wrestler, teaming with Mainstream Hernandez, but the team was soon dissolved in favour of a big push for Hernandez. 2007 proved to be a big year for Erik; the departure of a number of MAW's main event crew, including his ex-partner, paved the way for him to be given the opportunity to take his game to the next level. In June he became the MAW champion, and has been suitably impressive in his lengthy title reign.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_FlashSavage.jpg

FLASH SAVAGE

Midcard

Flash Savage is a very small lightweight worker, who has started making a name for himself with his work in Mid Atlantic Wrestling, where he is one half of the entertaining heel tag team The Canadian Blondes, alongside Oscar Golden. Not a great worker, his main selling point is his youthful boy band looks, which he works to his advantage. He also sometimes works under the name Percy Cution while working outside of MAW.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_FrankiePerez.jpg

“P-DAWG” FRANKIE PEREZ

Upper Midcard

“P-Dawg” Frankie Perez is a talented young wrestler from California, who has swiftly risen to cult stardom with CZCW. A hard-hitter, Frankie is well known for his ultra stiff kicks, and it is his ultra-violent no-nonsense style of attack that has made him a huge favourite with tape traders and Internet fans around the world. A true student of the game, as 2007 begins, he is not only looking to continue to rise in CZCW, but has also made it clear that he'd like to travel to Japan to compete.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_FumihiroOta.jpg

“SUPER NINJA” FUMIHIRO OTA

Main Event

“Super Ninja” Fumihiro Ota is a Japanese born fighter, who moved with his family to California when he was still young. He first came to people's attention on the West Coast independent scene, and that caused TCW to sign him to headline their cruiserweight division in 1999. He went on to become hugely over, winning the Cruiserweight championship five times, and the tag titles three times (with Kazuma Narato). Unfortunately, the division was cut in 2005, and that led to him being released.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_HarryWilson.jpg

HARRY WILSON

Lower Midcard

Harry Wilson is the younger brother of the legendary Cliff "Dark Angel" Wilson. Born in the United Kingdom, he moved to Canada in 2000, where his sibling had a hand in training him. Cliff's influence was further felt when he used his connections in NOTBPW to get young Harry a job, and it is there that Harry made his debut in early 2002. Over the next four years he proved himself to be a competent worker, but lacked the spark of greatness that his brother had, and he was released in 2006.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_JackpotJordan.jpg

“HIGH ROLLER” JACKPOT JORDAN

Midcard

“High Roller” Jackpot Jordan is a youngster from Las Vegas who was trained by Coastal Zone Championship Wrestling. He made his debut for the promotion in 2007; originally as nothing more than a glorified jobber, his performances soon proved to management that he was ready for something more, and by the end of the year he was working regularly alongside fellow rookie “Hollywood” Jake Idol as the tag team Rich And Famous.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_JacobJett.jpg

“THE AMAZING” JACOB JETT

Main Event

“The Amazing” Jacob Jett is one of the most exciting prospects in the entire of North America. At the age of just 19, he burst onto the scene with Canadian Charisma Championship Combat, and soon had fans buzzing with his blend of charisma and stunning daredevil antics. They bestowed the nickname "Amazing" on him, and they certainly weren't wrong, as very few people can pull out so many incredible moments in a match. Jett could be a huge star in the making.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_JakeIdol.jpg

“HOLLYWOOD” JAKE IDOL

Midcard

“Hollywood” Jake Idol is a young worker who started making appearances for Coastal Zone Championship Wrestling in 2007 as an arrogant heel. The 6'4 250lber has a great look, but is still very green at this stage in his career. However, his performances during his first few months with the company were enough to convince management that he could handle a bigger role, and he was soon paired up with fellow rookie "High Roller" Jackpot Jordan to form the Rich And Famous tag team.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_JayFair.jpg

JAY FAIR

Referee

Jay Fair is a veteran referee, formerly associated with the Supreme Wrestling Federation. When Rip Chord opened Mid Atlantic Wrestling, Fair was one of the first people he brought in, as he knew he'd make a good, reliable, consistent head official.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_JDMorgan.jpg

JD MORGAN

Main Event

Jeff Daniel “JD” Morgan is a veteran worker from the United Kingdom who moved to the USA in 1992 to be one of DAVE's first regular wrestlers, and was an important part of their rise from local promotion to cult phenomenon. When the promotion went bankrupt in 2007 Morgan headed to Mitch Naess' Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling, the successor to DAVE, in order to help try and establish them. JD is noted for his European style, excelling at wrestling on the mat, tying his opponents up with intricate submission holds. Injuries, unfortunately, are starting to pull him toward retirement.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_KatieCameron.jpg

KATIE CAMERON

Manager for Jacob Jett

Katie Cameron is the girlfriend of “The Amazing” Jacob Jett, and she started appearing regularly as his manager in 4C in 2006. She had no history with the business prior to meeting Jett, but her undeniable charisma, not to mention her obvious sex appeal, have allowed her to become a fan favourite very quickly. Outside of the wacky world of pro wrestling, Cameron works as a marketing manager for a large telecommunications firm.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_Kaz.jpg

KAZ

Opener

KAZ is a youngster from Nagoya, who was a former trainee with BHOTWG. He toured the world in 2005, wrestling in as many places as he could, and the experience made him a far better and more versatile worker. Upon his return he was offered the chance to work for Pro Wrestling SAISHO, PGHW's feeder league. Whether the can impress enough to get a call up to the main roster remains to be seen.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_K-Squared_alt5.jpg

K-SQUARED

Opener

K-Squared is a high flying Canadian rookie, who is slowly developing into a decent all-round worker. He used to work under his real name, Kenny Kuntz, but he soon switched to his current ring name as he didn't want to endure an entire career of ‘creative’ chants. His main claim to fame so far has been with CGC, where under the name Stunning Stuart he was one half of the babyface tag team The Varsity Boys. His time there only lasted a year though, as he was released in November 2006.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_MainstreamHernandez.jpg

MAINSTREAM HERNANDEZ

Upper Midcard

James “Mainstream” Hernandez is a charismatic Canadian high flier with a huge amount of potential. He was a member of the initial MAW roster when the company first began, although he was originally a tag team wrestler, working alongside Erik Strong as Call To Action. That lasted only a few months before Mainstream went solo. As well as improving as a worker under Rip Chord's expert eye, Hernandez found a lot of success as a singles wrestler in the promotion; winning both of the first two Rip Chord Invitational tournaments and the Mid Atlantic Championship title, cementing his place as the brightest prospect that MAW had. In 2007, at Rip Chord's urging, Hernandez headed off to test his newly-polished skills in the wider wrestling world, first heading for the FCW promotion in Puerto Rico.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_MitchNaess_alt1.jpg

MITCH NAESS

Announcer

Mitch Naess is best known for having been the voice of Danger And Violence Extreme throughout its run, and for being the protege of Phil Vibert (whose influences are very clear in Naess' delivery and mannerisms.) Long-tipped as Vibert's eventual successor as head of the promotion, there was little surprise when, following DAVE's collapse, Naess announced that he would head a new group in the Tri-State area, one that would try to capture the spirit of DAVE. The result was Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling, and Naess seems determined to have them achieve the same level of success as DAVE.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_OscarGolden.jpg

“PRETTY BOY” OSCAR GOLDEN

Midcard

“Pretty Boy” Oscar Golden is a young Canadian rookie, who has just started to make a name for himself in the business with Rip Chord's Mid Atlantic Wrestling. He is best known for teaming up with Flash Savage as the Canadian Blondes, an entertaining duo (and occasionally trio, with Huey Cannonball), who specialise in riling the crowd up with their arrogant antics. With a great look and rapidly improving skills, Oscar looks set to be a big star eventually. He is also an accomplished jazz pianist.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_RemmySkye.jpg

“PSYCHE OUT” REMMY SKYE

Lower Midcard

“Psyche Out” Remmy Skye is a youngster from Georgia, who has become something of a cult figure with Coastal Zone Championship Wrestling. Debuting in 2004 while just 20 years old, Skye quickly won over the fans with a combination of his oddly hypnotic charisma and his insane daredevil wrestling style. He is often referred to as the "King Of The Ladder Match", which is down to the fact that he has been involved in some incredible ladder matches over the years, especially with Fox Mask and Plague.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_RockinRyanTurner.jpg

ROCKIN’ RYAN TURNER

Midcard

Rockin' Ryan Turner is a charismatic young high flier who has a lot of potential. His usual gimmick is that of a mysterious, sexy, rock god, which is helped by the fact that he can genuinely play guitar, and has his own band in real life, “Bad Idea”. His first taste of real exposure in wrestling came when he was brought into Rip Chord's Mid Atlantic Wrestling, where he was teamed up with Stan Manna to form The Rock City Stars tag team. Together they established themselves as a pretty good duo, and left with Rip Chord's blessing in 2007 to look for work elsewhere.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_SgtBubbaLeeWest.jpg

SGT. BUBBA LEE WEST

Lower Midcard

Sgt. Bubba Lee West was a former Army Ranger who began wrestling professionally shortly after leaving the armed forces. Super tough, and totally believable as a sadistic psycho, he makes a great heel.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_ShooterSeanDeeley.jpg

SHOOTER SEAN DEELEY

Main Event

"Shooter" Sean Deeley is a youngster who had massive success in amateur wrestling at college level (he was twice national champion), before turning professional in 2004. He was soon picked up by CGC in Canada, and has steadily progressed from the opening matches to become one of the company's most consistent midcard performers. In 2007 he replaced the departed John Maverick as the resident submission master in the promotion's primary heel stable, Elite, giving a whole new boost to his career. There are many insiders who believe that Deeley could go on to become a big star, and use his amateur skills to help bring realistic wrestling back to the mainstream.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_StanManna.jpg

STAN “THE MAN” MANNA

Midcard

Stan 'The Man' Manna (Stewart Neill) is a young all rounder, most closely associated with Mid Atlantic Wrestling, where he first came to fame teaming with Rockin' Ryan Turner as The Rock City Stars. Hailing from Canada, the brash newcomer originally made a name for himself on the Quebec independent circuit, and tapes of his performances somehow came to the attention of Rip Chord, MAW owner, which is how he came to be signed. Manna, along with his partner, left MAW with Rip Chord's blessing in 2007 in order to gain experience elsewhere.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_SUKI.jpg

SUKI

Opener

SUKI is Ryunosuke Matsuki, a technically gifted young wrestler who was trained in the Golden Canvas Grappling dojo. While his talent was evident, he graduated at a time when GCG were trying to cut costs, and so he was never brought onto the main roster. Instead, he went to the independent scene, where he wrestled under his real name for a year. In 2006, as well as debuting an awesome new "dickish heel" persona, he changed his ring name to SUKI to reflect the change in attitude.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_TerrySmith_alt1.jpg

TERRY SMITH

Announcer

Terry Smith is a young announcer from Winnipeg, who is best known as the voice of Canadian Charisma Championship Combat. He has been with that promotion since 2003, having worked backstage in a technical capacity for Canadian Golden Combat for the previous two years. Smith is known for being a very thorough broadcaster, always doing his research so that he isn't caught out, but he lacks the emotional spark that all great play-by-play men have.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_ThomasMorgan_alt1.jpg

“TRADEMARK” THOMAS MORGAN

Opener

“Trademark” Thomas Morgan is a great mat wrestler, who has never gotten the break his talent deserves; this is especially puzzling as he has the charisma to back up his in-ring ability. After years without having been picked up by a major promotion, time seems to be running out on his dreams of ever becoming a superstar.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_TigreSalvaje.jpg

TIGER SALVAJE JR.

Lower Midcard

Tigre Salvaje Jr is a second generation luchador, the son of the original “Savage Tiger”, who was a regular worker for OLLIE in the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s. Although his father never cracked the main event scene - probably due to a combination of politics, his own chronic lack of ambition, and the fact that he was always a good worker, not a great one - Tigre Salvaje Jr has high hopes of becoming a big star in Mexico, and he certainly has the athletic background to do it. In 2007 he started working regularly for the FCW promotion in Puerto Rico, hoping to build up his skills in order to attract offers from Mexico.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_TrentShaffer_alt4.jpg

TRENT SHAFFER

Midcard

Trent Shaffer is a very exciting young talent from Canada. When he first made his pro debut in 2004, he was the promising-but-bland Young Leo. He showed enough talent to get hired by CGC in 2005 though, and they repackaged him as Delicious Danny, one half of the teen idol tag team The Varsity Boys. Again, that identity lasted only a year; the CGC creative team, seeing his overwhelming potential, ditched his partner and turned him into the ****y prima donna Trent Shaffer instead.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_Valentine.jpg

VALENTINE

Lower Midcard

Valentine is a rookie with a solid all-round game, who is considered to be a bright prospect. His arrogant heel act is always a good one. He also sometimes works under the name Romeo Romaro.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_Velocidad.jpg

VELOCIDAD

Opener

Although it may be very early in his career, some veterans of the lucha libre scene are already hailing young Velocidad as the “next big thing” to hit Mexican wrestling. Although he is still inexperienced, inconsistent, and lacking finesse, what cannot be denied is that he is one of the quickest wrestlers you will ever seen, moving around the ring with a dizzying pace and energy. Making his pro debut in September 2006, big things are expected from him.

http://s246.photobucket.com/albums/gg102/KingJoel_911/PWMAX/th_WarrenTechnique.jpg

“THE MACHINE” WARREN TECHNIQUE

Lower Midcard

“The Machine” Warren Technique has only been wrestling professionally since late 2003, but has already shown enough skill and dedication that people have marked him for future success in the business. He joined 4C in the summer of 2004 for his first taste of regular work, and became one of the company's hottest properties, thanks in part to a fantastic series of matches with Joey Poison that immediately established Warren as a major contender. In retrospect, that proved to be something of a false dawn; once the feud with Poison was over, Warren dropped down the card in rapid fashion, and by the time of his release in 2007 had been drifting aimlessly in the midcard for over a year.

The British will also come calling for the Heavyweight Title at Chapter One.

JD Morgan will be coming to California in search of gold. The former DaVE mainstay, looks to dazzle the fans with his European Style of wrestling and it will most probably be great if Morgan tangles with the next competitor. Shooter Sean Deeley is one of the best wrestlers in the world when it comes to Technical/Mat Based wrestling and is a former National Champion in Amateur Wrestling. Deeley is noted for having brilliant submissions and has been one of the elite in submission wrestling. The final man involved in this tournament will be Fumihiro Ota. Aside from the tournament; we here at Pro Wrestling MAX will also give you some great high-flying action. In the first of many brilliant high-flying encounters in PWMAX; we will see Burning EXILE become Burning MAX as he will take on Tiger Salvaje Jr. Both men are high-fliers and are both from different countries and have put n excellent performances in their respective countries. But not only will we include high-flying encounters; we look to include the technical encounters as the man from the rising-sun SUKI will look to topple 'Mr. Submission' Al Coleman. Both have a brilliant technical ability and will wrestle circles around eachother.
