USPW AMERICAN WRESTLING!

Wednesday Week 4 July 2008

Location: Hunsville Fairgrounds

Attendance: 3,217

Overall Rating: C

TV Rating: .53

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/ArtReed.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/T-Rex_alt1.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/Acid.jpg

[A video begins the show. Big surprise there, huh? We're recapping the events from the pay-per-view show, focusing in on the main event where Art Reed had a successful title defense against T-Rex and then Acid showed up!]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/SteveSmith.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/Acid.jpg

[Earlier this evening when Acid arrived at the building, Steve Smith attempted to gain an interview with Acid. Acid just looked at him and then brushed him off, entering the building and heading toward his locker room in silence.]

[/QUOTe]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/Liberty.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/JoeyBeauchamp.jpg

[DUDE! The show kicked off with an appearance by 'Liberty' James Justice! The crowd cheered Justice as he spoke about last night's victory over Jay Chord and then focused his attention on tonight and his match with Joey Beauchamp. Beauchamp came out, interrupting Justice and stating that even though Justice beat the leader of Technical Execution, he is still here and so is the USPW World Champion! So, tonight, Justice is gonna get knocked over by the Breeze!]

Match #1

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/Acid.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/FumihiroOta_alt15.jpg

Acid vs. Fumihiro Ota

[A high flying contest to kick off the show. Fumihiro Ota has been putting in some good matches but just can't seem to come out the winner in a lot of them. That streak continues here against the in-ring debut of Acid. Acid finishes off Ota with the Acid Rain Bomb.]

Winner: Acid

Match Rating: C

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/SamStrong.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/ErikStrong.jpg

[backstage, Sam Strong is hyping up his son: Erik Strong, telling him that tonight is a once in a lifetime opportunity that only comes every once in a lifetime! Tonight Erik has a chance to beat the USPW World Champion and prove that he deserves a title shot. Sam also let his son know that he is proud of all his accomplishments, which gets an 'awwwww dad' from Erik.]

Match #2

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/MelodyCuthill.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/WandaFish.jpg

Top Contenders Match, Women's Title

Melody Cuthill vs. Wanda Fish

[The women outdo some of the men tonight here on American Wrestling as they had just barely a slightly below average match. It was obvious that both women wanted the title shot and several near falls took place in this match. Cuthill went for a gutwrench suplex but Wanda landed on her feet and hit Cuthill with the Dish Of The Day and got the three count.]

Winner: Wanda Fish

Match Rating: C-

[Wanda picked up a microphone following the win and spoke about her past with Alicia Strong and this is just another chapter. At Apple Pie And Wrestling, the dish of the day will be scheduled to be pain for Alicia Strong!]

Match #3

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/ChampagneLover.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/SteveFlash.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/KatieCameron.jpg

Antonio Maxi Marquez vs. Steve Flash

[One of Steve Flash's first matches with Katie Cameron back in his corner. These two had several botches within the match, which is sad for two obviously gifted and talented athletes such as these. Marquez showed some frustration late in the match and Katie Cameron cheered on Flash. Flash was able to hit Marquez with the Flash Bang and he got the three count.]

Winner: Steve Flash

Match Rating: C-

[Marquez got back up after the match and clotheslined down Steve Flash from behind! The crowd booed as Marquez put the boots to Flash...]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/JackAvatar.jpg

[Then the boos turned to cheers as Jack Avatar hit the ring and traded punches with Marquez while Katie Cameron got Steve Flash out of the ring! Avatar sent Marquez over the top rope with a clothesline and then left the ring to help Katie with Steve.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/ArtReed.jpg

[The Pure Athlete was shown in the back and he talked about being USPW World Champion and facing all-comers, all kinds of athletes from all over the world. He hyped his match with the son of a roid rager. Reed is all about Purity and tonight that will be exhalted onto Erik Strong. Then he segued that into Acid and spoke about how he thought he was done with that man but once again he will have to prove that he is the Pure Athlete and that means he's better than you.]

Match #4

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/CaptainUSA.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/GreaseHogg.jpg

Captain USA vs. Grease Hogg

[The worst match of the night so far and one that several people used to go get refreshments or use the bathroom. The match was filled with interference from their tag team partners: The Masked Patriot and Lead Belly. But it one half of the challengers: Captain USA that took the pinfall following the Hail To The Chief.]

Winner: Captain USA

Match Rating: D-

[The Dirty White Boys got their revenge though in the form of their lead pipes to the skulls of Captain USA and The Masked Patriot. They threatened to unmask them but officials came down to stop that.]

Match #5

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/JoeyBeauchamp.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/Liberty.jpg

Joey Beauchamp vs. James Justice

[Perhaps the worst match that Justice has put on here in USPW against a very talented opponent. Joey Beauchamp is starting to earn the wrong kind of heat and momentum, the kind that propels someone backwards until they can never be taken seriously. Justice looked good out there though and did everything to try and bring the fans back into the match as this is the semi main event. Justice got the clean win with the Liberation Slam.]

Winner: James Justice

Match Rating: D+

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/ErikStrong.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/AliciaStrong.jpg

[backstage, Erik Strong is preparing for his match, the main event, which is next. The locker room door opens and Alicia comes in, letting Erik know it's nearly time and wishing her brother luck with a good luck hug. As Erik walks down the hallway, this is viewed by another man who is lurking within the shadows...]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/NickyChampion_FIN5.jpg

Match #6

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/ArtReed.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW/ErikStrong.jpg

Non Title

Art Reed vs. Erik Strong

[Our main event here as the USPW World Champion goes one on one with the USPW World Television Champion. This is actually an above average match here with several near falls in the early going and Erik Strong holding his own against the World Champion. Strong got a two count following a DDT on Reed and continued on the offensive with the backing of the crowd. The crowd was a little confused when Hawkeye stepped out from the back with his baseball bat and walked down to ringside, watching this match.

Art Reed battled back to his feet and exchanged punches with Erik Strong. Erik ducked a clothesline but Jay Fair did not! Reed took out the referee with the clothesline and Erik Strong caught him with the Strong Arm Tactic! Strong made the cover and Hawkeye slid into the ring behind the World Television Champion. As Erik got up, realizing what happened with the referee, he took a bat shot to the back! Strong dropped to his knees and then got hit across the back of the head with the bat by Hawkeye! Hawkeye woke up Art Reed first and then the referee, sliding out of the ring. Reed hooked on the Dread Lock and within thirty seconds he had a submission out of Strong.]

Winner: Art Reed

Match Rating: C+

[Following the match, Hawkeye got back into the ring and hit Erik Strong with the Hawkeye Hammer! Strong went back down and Hawkeye just looked at him for several long moments as the show came to a close.]

<p>You know, ever since you changed the product, the quality of the show has gone up, but quality of certain wrestler's matches have gone down. Peter Valentine's matches aren't doing so good... and James Justice's matches have gone down a bit. </p><p> </p><p>

Is there bad chemistry between Joey Beauchamp and James Justice?</p>

[Within the inside of Sam Strong's office, I walked, knowing that he wanted to speak with me. I settled in and tried not to notice the bottles of geritol and viagra on the desktop. He looked down at me for a moment and then grabbed the bottles and stuffed them into the desk. Better not to mention those things, right?]

Jack Avatar

"You wished to speak with me, Sam?"

Sam Strong

"I tell you, Jack, this place is looking more and more like Tommy's promotion every single day and less and less like the one I took over a long while back."

Jack Avatar

"It hasn't been that long, sir. Besides, I think the fans are enjoying the changes that we've made to the company so far."

Sam Strong

"Some of the wrestlers are starting to grumble though about the competitors you've been bringing in. I hear you had even tried hiring that Mainstream Hernandez wrestler."

Jack Avatar

"I did try, Sam, but right now he's too busy with his other contracts. My intention was to team him up with Erik Strong in the tag team they had in MAW: Call To Action. Though I had no plans to strip Erik of the title belt he's currently wearing or anything."

Sam Strong

"Good because Erik's a good kid and he's using a good name. He and Alicia are hitting it off well playing the in character brother and sister. I even got word that he asked her out on a date."

Jack Avatar

"Maybe that's why Nicky's been upset here lately."

Sam Strong

"What do you mean?"

Jack Avatar

"Well, Sir, I think it's well documented that Nicky has a bit of a crush on your daughter."

Sam Strong

"Since when? I never heard anything about it."

Jack Avatar

"Nobody wanted to force anything, Sir. Nor would they want to speak up where your daughter is involved. But we all just want her to be happy because as long as she's happy then she'll wrestle well and in the end that's what we're all here for. Speaking of wrestling, there have been some more grumblings about Jay Chord in the locker room. He's a bit of an arrogant kid, acting more and more like the character he plays on tv."

Sam Strong

"Maybe if we handcuff Steve to him, then Steve can get him to calm down some. It'll be your job to tell Steve that he needs to be the watchful guardian over Jay."

[Damn....poor Steve Flash.]

Jack Avatar

"Yes, Sir. Anything else?"

[sam tilts his head for a moment, thinking and then shakes his head and shrugs, dismissing me without even discussing the whole reason why he brought me in here in the first place. I guess that's just luck, huh? I got up and headed to the door, opening it. Speaking of wrestlers taking their characters too far, Jim Force walked in next, spouting the words of the Force to anyone who will listen. He must have forgotten to take his meds...]

[When I returned to my desk, I went through my records, notes and videos and I compiled two seperate lists. The first list was a list of wrestlers who should not be talking for themselves on camera. It's become rather obvious that they are not very good at conveying their ideas in a proper manner that gets fans excited. This list is as follows (C and below entertainment)...]

Main Eventers

---

Acid

Jumbo Jackson

T-Rex

Art Reed

Bruce The Giant

Peter Valentine

Upper Midcarders

---

Freddie Datsun

JD Morgan

Johnny Martin

Travis Century

Midcarders

---

Rick Sanders

Steve Gumble

Anger

Fumihiro Ota

Grease Hogg

Hawkeye

Lead Belly

Mick Muscles

Nathan Coleman

Lower Midcarders

---

Al The Hillbilly

Pete The Hillbilly

The Calamari Kid

Danny Rushmore

Larry Wood

Rhino Umaga

Openers

---

Kirk Jameson

Nadia Snow

Enhancement Talents

---

Stuart Ferdinand

Lex Appeal

[The second list I compiled is of wrestlers who have proven themselves as being sufficient on the microphone without any additional help. This list is as follows (C+ and above entertainment)...]

Main Eventers

---

James Justice

Jim Force

Upper Midcarders

---

Alicia Strong

Captain USA

Jack Avatar

Jay Chord

Wanda Fish

Midcarders

---

Joanne Rodriguez

Suzanne Brazzle

Antonio Maxi Marquez

Cherry Bomb

Jack Griffith

Lower Midcarders

---

Sara Marie York

???

???

Stephanie Wade

Openers

---

Ernie Turner

Melody Cuthill

The Masked Patriot

Enhancement Talents

---

Joey Beauchamp

[Then, of course, there's the wrestlers who didn't make either list as they already have managers. Now, it's time to work for the future on getting some of them to meet in the middle, both as managers, teams and as opponents where one side does all the talking.]
