When the heck did Thunder Snake go solo?

Check back to when Team KOBRA named Hidekazu as their challenger against Freddy Huggins. There's been some stuff before that, and a little after, but that's the pivot point in going solo.

(Although you'll find a promo before then from Pathlow about how he felt there were other ways to pass on Ino's teachings - which dates from just before Fox Mask's return and wins.)

I remember both of those moments. I just don't remember Snake walking out.

Steve Smith – Sara Silver – Autumn Gleeson

  • In the opening match, Bulldozer Brandon Smith destroyed Lobo Blanco in short order. (Rating: B-)
  • A video plays showcasing Alicia Strong's debut and single-minded series of assaults, though it does also dwell on her fleeing the fresh Stephanie Wade mid-assault.
  • American Dojo had their second outing, defeating Elimination Protocol when Pathlow pinned Technique following a 1st Dan. (Rating: B)
  • Darkwave went head to head with the Young Guns, Bach eventually making Harry Allen submit to the Bach on Your Back. (Rating: B+)
  • Champagne Lover duelled fellow countryman Mr. Lucha III, pinning him following a Champagne Sunrise. (Rating: B-)
  • The Easy Riders hit the ring for a Carl Batch promo against the Texas Outlaws, saying that they'd fight, they'd sweat, and they'd bleed before they'd admit Bowman had a point – and that they'd prove it whenever they had to.
  • Christian Faith then came out to narrowly defeat Davis Wayne Newton, scoring with a Leap of Faith after escaping the Fisherman's Suplex. (Rating: B)
  • The lumberjacks for the main event hit the ring, all hired by Kate Dangerous and JeriLynn Stone to keep Alicia Strong out; the Enforcers and Stephanie Wade.
  • Despite this, however, Stone & Dangerous fell to the Leading Lights, with Michelle Cox nailing a Pretty Fly swanton to pin Kate Dangerous and earn herself the #1 Contendership, despite looking for half the match as if her head was seriously bothering her – a trickle of blood running down from it. (Rating: B+)

Though I love Patriot Fox, there's one thing I will say, and that's that the storyline with KOBRA and Snake/Pathlow seems a little... unresolved. What appears to have been the conclusion wasn't bad and it works, it just feels like that there could've been more to it (Especially with the sudden Fox Mask team up)

I will say that there's more to this to come. I wouldn't necessarily call it the same program, but it's more of that story.

A promising roster of matches this Saturday, with TCW full of issues and even fuller of high-quality competitors raring to show their stuff. Let's take a look.

The British Lions take on another dangerous duo in 'Bulldozer' Brandon Smith and Mikey 'The Dragon' James in our first match. There's every possibility that they'll be grateful the belts aren't on the line by the end of this one...

In six-man action, two unlikely sides collide. Chris Rockwell will have Rhino Umaga and International Champion Sean Deeley on his side; in opposition, Hard-Hitting contenders Jack Bruce and Frankie Perez are joined by Champagne Lover. This one could have serious consequences for two title pictures...

Frankie Dee of the School of Tradition looks scheduled for a tough lesson, too - his opponent is Johnny Bloodstone, and that's never been an easy match for anyone. But a win here would be a strong start for the School of Tradition's night.

International Air will provide the opponents for the School's second match of the night, in which Eric Tyler and Freddie Huggins will represent the school. Can Adam Matravers and Mr. Lucha III make the strongest possible case to challenge for Huggins' title? Both men's exciting high-flying style has to make them possible contenders.

Troy Tornado has a big Pay-Per-View match scheduled against Darkwave's Sammy Bach. Zimmy has stepped up to try to wear his partner's opponent down - and maybe grab a win over a former World Heavyweight Champion in the process. This could be the biggest night of the young man's career.

And in the main event two powerful forces are set to collide - Aaron Andrews, Eddie Peak, and Tommy Cornell, loosely dubbed the Freedom Fighters, will take on Generation Omega's Davis Wayne Newton, Joey Minnesota, and Remo Richardson. This one is likely to be a hell of a match.

Prediction Key:

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. the Bulldozer & the Dragon (non-title)

Champagne Lover, Frankie Perez & Jack Bruce vs. Chris Rockwell, Rhino Umaga & Sean Deeley w/ Laura Huggins

Frankie Dee vs. Johnny Bloodstone

Eric Tyler & Freddie Huggins vs. International Air

Troy Tornado vs. Zimmy

Freedom Fighters (Aaron Andrews, Eddie Peak & Tommy Cornell) vs. Generation Omega (Davis Wayne Newton, Joey Minnesota & Remo Richardson) w/ Phil Vibert

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. the Bulldozer & the Dragon (non-title)

Bulldozer & Dragon are getting pushed so they might make an upset here but since I´m unsure whatever they have the overness to go over Lions I take the safer choice.

Champagne Lover, Frankie Perez & Jack Bruce vs. Chris Rockwell, Rhino Umaga & Sean Deeley w/ Laura Huggins

Heels seem to be bigger names here though it could go other way too.

Frankie Dee vs. Johnny Bloodstone

Maybe not squash but I really can´t see Bloodstone losing this one.

Eric Tyler & Freddie Huggins vs. International Air

No idea who International Air guys are but the word International suggest that they are from sowhere else than USA and thus unlikely to have the needed overness to go over.

Troy Tornado vs. Zimmy

Tornado is former champ and Zimmy just isn´t on his level yet.

Freedom Fighters (Aaron Andrews, Eddie Peak & Tommy Cornell) vs. Generation Omega (Davis Wayne Newton, Joey Minnesota & Remo Richardson) w/ Phil Vibert

Really tough one here, actually I go with draw since I just can´t decide.

Another tag squash.

Champagne Lover, Frankie Perez & Jack Bruce vs. Chris Rockwell, Rhino Umaga & Sean Deeley w/ Laura Huggins

Bruce vs. Deeley tips this one for me.

Frankie Dee vs. Johnny Bloodstone

I remember Johnny Bloodstone!

Eric Tyler & Freddie Huggins vs. International Air

Squash!

Troy Tornado vs. Zimmy (by DQ)

Troy has said he's basically done with the Darkwave feud. So this has to end soon, and I think he wins the feud. Which means it makes perfect sense for the heels to attempt a beatdown leading up to the fight. Interference by Bruce and/or Bach, DQ, Troy gets roughed up and has to beat the odds at the PPV. That gives him the incentive to finish the thing by taking on Bruce at Malice.

Freedom Fighters (Aaron Andrews, Eddie Peak & Tommy Cornell) vs. Generation Omega (Davis Wayne Newton, Joey Minnesota & Remo Richardson) w/ Phil Vibert

Who's got an excuse to lose? Well, GenO aren't bringing their top guy. I don't know WHO the other side's top guys are, aside from Tommy and probably Aaron. McFly, maybe? But if so, he's still #2 after Tommy.

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. the Bulldozer & the Dragon (non-title)

The Junior Enforcers aren't credibly able to beat people in actual matches yet. They need more beatdown angles to really get that invincible cred.

Champagne Lover, Frankie Perez & Jack Bruce vs. Chris Rockwell, Rhino Umaga & Sean Deeley w/ Laura Huggins

Yeah, let's establish a challenger for the International Belt.

Frankie Dee vs. Johnny Bloodstone

Yeah but no.

Eric Tyler & Freddie Huggins vs. International Air

JOBBERS!

Troy Tornado vs. Zimmy

Yeah, go on then, let's take a risk.

Freedom Fighters (Aaron Andrews, Eddie Peak & Tommy Cornell) vs. Generation Omega (Davis Wayne Newton, Joey Minnesota & Remo Richardson) w/ Phil Vibert

Draw. Why not? None of these people deserve a loss.

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. the Bulldozer & the Dragon

There aren't actually too many tag teams in TCW which take their puroresu, strong style roots as seriously as the two junior Enforcers, Brandon Smith and Mikey James. The result is that they're able to hammer the Lions in places, with O'Curle and Morgan's signature approach to nullifying tactics that have worked on them before somewhat stalemated.

Certainly, there's a potential championship match here, one day – but as strong as Brandon Smith is, he's also a former pro football player with an injured knee, and O'Curle and Morgan see that knee as nothing short of a target. Having zeroed in on it, eventually – after ten minutes of wrestling – O'Curle is able to lock him into a hold that Smith can't withstand, forcing the big man to tap out.

A slightly dubious-quality video feed appears on the big screen, with an overlaid caption in the bottom corner: EARLIER TODAY – FOOTAGE COURTESY OF FAN TEGAN BRADY.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/HellMonkey_alt4.jpg

In the image, John Pathlow has stopped on his way backstage to chat with some of the earlier-arriving fans. He signs a program for one of them. “No, I figured it was going to cause some surprise,” he tells the fan. “But it's worth it. And who knows? Maybe I can get that All Action shot. I'd like to get a belt here, you know?”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/KoshiroIno.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/QueenEmily_FS2.jpg

There's a commotion from offscreen. Some of the fans are excitedly looking behind Pathlow, who turns – and comes face to face with Koshiro Ino, sharply suited but already facepainted, and Baroness Emily, in her usual immaculate tight-fitting black. She carries the bokken in its sheath by her side.

The three stand close by, the KOBRA members' gaze on Pathlow, his slowly sweeping between the two.

Emily's the first to break the silence. “John,” she says. “We were surprised to see your new project.”

He grins. “I bet,” he says. “Sensei – if I still have the right to call you that?”

Ino nods.

“I studied aikido early on in my career,” Pathlow says. “My teacher – he was ranked 6th dan by Ueshiba himself, before he left to train others.

“I rank fifth dan. My teacher never climbed again, as respect, so he never promoted above him. Said it wouldn't be right.

“Sensei... I think, right now, I rank sixth dan in your training. And it's time for me to leave.”

Emily cocks her head. “You're stepping away completely?”

“Shingen Miyazaki ranked ahead of me,” Pathlow concedes. “I don't agree with that, but I can see it. But Hidekazu?

“No. I wanted my cadre to be a second KOBRA school. But if I do that, I'm always going to be behind in the pecking order.

“You've held a title here, sensei. You beat the World Heavyweight Champion to do it. I want something like that for myself. Some championship – to prove my way works.”

He smirks. “When the American Dojo has all the belts, sensei, you should still be proud – but my methods might just work better.”

With a bow just a few inches too shallow to be truly respectful, he backs off and heads away.

Chris Rockwell, Rhino Umaga & Sean Deeley w/ Laura Huggins

With this much talent in the ring, it can't help but be an entertaining match.

And it is; Deeley and Perez bring seriousness, Umaga and Lover bring confidence bordering on arrogance, and Rockwell and Bruce just tear the house down.

All six men seem bound and determined to impress; at one point, Champagne Lover nails Deeley on the outside with a big suicide dive; Rhino Umaga promptly levels him as he gets up with a charging clothesline.

Jack Bruce, meanwhile, runs riot at one point, almost pinning Umaga before Rockwell breaks it up. With everyone reeling, Frankie Perez comes in, looking at his opportunity to win this one and make a mark. Rockwell takes a hook kick, then Deeley -

And Rhino Umaga takes Perez down with a big boot. A belly-to-belly suplex dumps Perez moments later and Umaga bails, allowing Rockwell to duck the next hook kick and take Perez down into the Furusawa Armbar to secure the submission.

Chris bails out of the ring and collects a microphone before heading back in. “Welp,” he begins. “I had a choice ahead of me, and I'm happy to say I've had a chance to make it.

“Jack, you wanted a shot at my belt. Frankie, so did you – but the difference is, I made you tap out.

“You want your first belt back in TCW, Jack? You've got your chance. Well, you've got a match – but it's against me, and believe me, Jack, you do not have what it takes to beat Chris Rockwell. Bring your A game anyway – I want to prove it.”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/ShooterSeanDeeley.jpg

Sean Deeley walks across to Rockwell, holding out his hand, and the Hard-Hitting Champion surrenders the microphone to the International Champion.

He looks over the others. “I've got a challenge myself,” he says. “Champagne Lover – I don't particularly like the attitude you have, but you nearly pinned me in there, you took me out at one point...” He grins. “Chris says he knows he can beat Jack. I don't know if I can beat you – so you deserve a shot at my title.

“Let me know if you don't want it. I'll have to find someone else.”

As Chris, Rhino and Sean leave, Perez stares daggers at the three of them.

Frankie Dee vs. Johnny Bloodstone

An excellent exhibition of a match here, although it looks almost like Bloodstone is just stalking Dee, biding his time before the perfect moment arrives – which sees Bloodstone just pick Dee apart in seconds before locking on the Bloodstone Mutilation. He holds on a good three seconds after the match ends before he finally releases the hold.

Applause echos through the arena's sound system as Matthew Keith walks out, clapping with his hand on the microphone.

Bloodstone, having started to smile a little, has his expression turn sour immediately.

“It's good to know you can still win things, Johnny,” Matthew says. “I mean, we'd been wondering. But really – let's face it – the only important match you've had lately was with me and – oh, yeah – you lost.”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/SamKeith.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/ArtReed.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/GregGauge-1.jpg

Bloodstone scowls – and then Gimme Shelter hits. Keith swivels, and comes face to face as he does so with his father – and with his brother and tag partner, too.

“Well, look who it is,” Matthew sneers. “Only I can't help thinking there's someone else who's supposed to be here...”

Sam shakes his head slowly. “Matthew,” he says softly, “this is enough.

“You've been acting up far too long, and I guess I really didn't put my foot down the way I should have... so it's time I do.”

“What exactly are you going to do?” his son fires back. “You can't get my contract cancelled, Dad. I've got a lawyer. AND an agent.”

“We never used agents in my day,” Sam says mildly. “We just showed up and wrestled... and that's what I'm going to do, Matthew.

“You and I will be in the ring together. And if I can't knock some humility into you, well, I'll be very surprised.”

International Air vs. Eric Tyler & Freddie Huggins

Once again, the School of Tradition have the edge in big-time experience against their opponents. On the other hand, International Air certainly seem to have an edge in speed overall, in athleticism overall – and, when Adam Matravers not only ducks the Huggins Kiss but takes Freddie's other leg out from under him with a leg sweep, it looks like they just might have the speed advantage over other opponents.

Freddy gets angry at that, and over the rest of the contest, he passes up a number of opportunities to nail the HugginDriver, instead trying repeatedly to hit the Huggins Kiss before it finally connects – but when it does, that's all she wrote, and the All Action Champion gets the pin.

Shout At The Devil begins to play. Mayhem Midden emerges, heading down to the ring, and walking with him is Charlie Thatcher, his twin bats slung over his shoulders as always.

Midden looks around at the fans with a much more subdued expression than his usual confident grin.

“Business, tonight,” he says. “Most of you know that Tommy Cornell does not want to wrestle Wolf Hawkins.” He lets that hang there for a few moments, during which time the fans quickly catch on to what's coming.

“Now, Wolf Hawkins and Tommy Cornell is a big money match for us. My office gets an average of a request a day to make it now. But Wolf Hawkins is the World Heavyweight Champion – just about any match he wrestles is a big money match, and with that belt around his waist, there's no shortage of people who want their chance. So I've had some leeway, as the Board's Representative, to hold back from making a match that Tommy Cornell – one of my bosses – does not want to wrestle.

“However... the Board of Representatives has said that enough is enough. Recent changes to the board have altered priorities – and let's face it, that shouldn't surprise anyone who's had to deal with a change in management.” He grins. “Now, for all that I'm going to be doing some digging... I offered a compromise, and it's been accepted.

“On Night Two of Malice in Wonderland, Tommy Cornell will wrestle for the World Heavyweight Championship. If Wolf Hawkins is still champion at that time, then we get two big matches for the price of one, and frankly, I like those numbers. Remember, at this moment in time, it's been over a year since Tommy Cornell competed for the World Heavyweight Championship.

“So that's official, now... and while I regret having to go against a wrestler's wishes in his matches, I've got to admit I'm looking forward to it.”

Troy Tornado vs. Zimmy

Zimmy pushes the former World Heavyweight Champion right to the limit here. If there was any question that this man deserves to be right at the top of TCW's pecking order, rubbing shoulders with the Stones, Cornells, Hawkins and McFlys, it ends in this match, where time and time again the Painful Procedure frontman is almost pinned by Zimmy – with his Blood Rush, or a particularly explosive brainbuster which Fry seems mysteriously cagey about naming.

Somehow, Troy always gets his shoulder up; with the fans behind him, he's able to rally from every attack, and when the Star Maker out of nowhere can't get it done, he measures Zimmy, calling for – then nailing – the Cyclone Kick followed by the Tornado Driver, ultimately putting Darkwave's representative away after seventeen gruelling minutes.

Davis Wayne Newton, Joey Minnesota & Remo Richardson w/ Phil Vibert

A year ago, it'd have been stunning to see either Newton or Andrews in a main event match. But as they start this one off in the ring, the message is clear; both sides are confident in their youngest member.

A lock-up ends when Andrews manages to drive Davis back to the corner; as Eugene Williams looks to separate them, however, Newton paintbrushes him with a huge slap over Williams' back – and he uses that to drive forward with offence, peppering Aaron with rights and lefts before hitting a beautiful standing dropkick.

Aaron is back to his feet fast, however; he meets Newton with a stiff right of his own, whips him to the ropes – goes for his standing spinebuster – Davis flips free! Russian legsweep – Aaron plants his feet and counters with a hip toss – chops from Newton as he rises up and a snap suplex – Aaron rolls clear out of the ring.

Davis watches him go with a smirk then looks up – and his face falls, as Eddie Peak's lariat has almost connected already. When it does, the Generation Omega prospect falls hard – but as Eddie scoops him up, looking for a slam, Davis has recovered enough to shove clear. He throws a dropkick and gets the hell out.

With a confident swagger, Joey Minnesota enters the ring against the revitalised Peak. Ducking Eddie's first lariat, he lays in a hard forearm to the behemoth's back – and Eddie shrugs it off, swivelling fast, catching hold of Joey even as he tries to dart backward.

Whipped to the corner next – avalanche splash in the corner, and Eddie boosts Joey to the top rope. Turning, he reaches above his head and comes forward with a huge powerslam. He turns and looks Remo in the eye, and Generation Omega's supreme specimen just smirks.

In the meantime, Newton takes Peak down with a chop block, bouncing up and grinning – and Eddie shrugs, rolling under the bottom rope. Newton turns – and comes face to face with Tommy Cornell.

The crowd explode as the now fan favourite measures up one of his enemy with his characteristic confidence. They circle, close to a lockup – Newton is a hair faster, going for a hammerlock, but Cornell picks his leg out from under him, turns and looks for the Guilt Trip-

Explosive German suplex by Remo! He mounts Cornell as Davis rolls clear, firing punch after punch, though Tommy gets his hands up in time to block at least half. He starts looking to chop back – not that it's doing much – and Aaron Andrews almost takes Remo's head off with a missile dropkick, breaking up the assault. Minnesota charges across the ring to bundle Aaron out, and the two tumble to the floor outside.

Tommy picks himself up – and in comes Davis Wayne Newton again, coming from behind with a bulldog. He nails it well – and in comes Eddie Peak. Davis ducks the swing, hits the ropes – another bulldog attempt, this one converted by Peak into a Blue Thunder Bomb. He covers – ONE, TWO, THR-

Davis Wayne Newton just kicked out from Eddie Peak. In a hurry, he rolls outside – Remo charges across the ring at Peak – chokehold goozle by Peak – one by Remo – the two struggle a moment – both go to kick the other in the gut simultaneously – holds broken, a pause as they fall back a step – both turn and throw punches simultaneously.

The two unstoppable forces continue to crash against one another as Aaron Andrews and Davis Wayne Newton re-enter the ring. Davis has a chair in hand – Aaron intercepts him with a spinebuster! Cover! ONE, TWO, THRE-

Remo breaks this one up, diving to his knees to deliver a forearm smash to Aaron's face. Payback, it seems, is served. He boosts Aaron up for the Destroyer – Cornell gets in his face, though, and Aaron takes advantage of the distraction to squirm free. A Blade Chop from Cornell drives Remo back a step, then another, but Tommy has to duck clear to avoid a volley of punches.

Aaron tries to Russian legsweep Remo, but the big man powers him around, sets up, and plants him with a lightning-fast DDT.

As he's rising, though, Cornell takes full advantage with a running knee off the ropes. Remo spins from the impact, but Joey Minnesota's there to intercept Cornell with an Empire Spiral before the follow-up!

He covers – Williams is busy kicking some of the excess wrestlers out of the ring – back for the count – ONE, TW- Tommy gets his shoulder up at what might well have been a hair over three if the count had been immediate, but it's hard to be sure. Remo slides out of the ring too.

Williams picks up the chair Davis brought in, looking to toss it out – and Newton gets in his face, looking for the chair. In the background, Joey Minnesota sees an opportunity – he punts Cornell in the balls before whipping him toward the Generation Omega corner. Eddie Peak isn't about to let that happen – he dives into the ring, grabbing a chair of his own on the way.

As Davis yanks his own chair from Eugene Williams and pushes through, Eddie sees him coming. While Remo sets up a Destroyer on Cornell, Peak and Newton lunge toward one another, swinging for the fences.

Davis falls. Peak drops to one knee. Furious, Williams orders the whole thing out.

Aaron Andrews, Eddie Peak & Tommy Cornell fought Davis Wayne Newton, Joey Minnesota & Remo Richardson to a double disqualification.

Sunday 21st November 2009

Freddy hustled up to me after his match last night, all eagerness, and asked how I'd liked the bit with the delayed Kiss. I asked him what was going on with that; in the background, I could see Eric Tyler grinning like a proud father.

I'm actually pretty happy with how the School of Tradition has mellowed Eric, politically – it seems to have given him assurance he'll stay relevant, and focused him on building the School's skills in training to keep them strong, or at least give them the option.

It turns out that Freddy had done this same sequence before, and I just hadn't noticed the first time around – but he's hoping to establish a vain streak to his character, and get the HugginDriver over in part by a story where it can be assumed to be the better move as he gets obsessed with finishing the match with a slightly weaker one, but one he'd been baited to miss.

So basically, he's given himself a custom-designed weakness.

I can see Eric's hand in this, and it's pretty simple – it gives a simple story to build to, where eventually someone will take advantage of that obsession and take the title off him, and it's something that can be played on for the rest of his career, from time to time. With a story as well as a moveset, a wrestler is a hair more likely to stay in the title picture.

From that point of view, it's smart thinking. I'll admit I'm not sure that Freddy will ever get another shot at the titles, but I'm equally not sure he won't; truth be told, he and Eric are working well as a tag team, and could have a shot at the belts themselves, given the right build.

I'm in a good position right now from a booking perspective; there are a lot of credible players for all the belts I oversee, and with the likes of Eric Tyler, Floyd Bowman, RDJ, Sam Keith and Christian Faith around, the youngsters have plenty of people they can go to in order to work out things like this.

There's a few big matches on their way this Tuesday, and all of it's pointing forward again - to A Little South Of Sanity and beyond. We're pretty psyched here at the TCW.com bunker - but you will be too, and it's not fair keeping the card from you any longer. So here we go:

Acid Dragon get a chance to make a real impression on the TCW faithful with a match against the Texas Outlaws. As always, Floyd Bowman's boys haven't told us which combination will be in action, but it's a hard challenge in any combination - and yet Acid Dragon have been earning rave reviews up and down the house shows, and were singled out by no less an authority than Horatio Dangerous as one of his two picks to be a big name in the tag scene in 2010.

Johnny Bloodstone returns to action again, this time facing off with Kirk Jameson. We see a lot of similarities between the two's in-ring styles, so this could well turn into something big in years to come - and this is your chance to see it all begin.

The British Lions are active again in non-title competition tonight, taking on more of the School of Tradition in Global Tradition. The former stablemates have scores to settle, and frankly I'd never rule out a team like Global Tradition - they've got more tricks everyone else has forgotten than anyone but a Stone.

Stephanie Wade and Zoe Ammis will represent the womens' division. In both cases, they're bound to be thinking about climbing the ranks of an increasingly competitive division - and we predict big things for them both.

Six-man action follows. The American Dojo unites with Canadian Elemental as we go north of the border. Their opponents? Freddy Huggins and the Eternal Party. Look for tensions to run high with a champion, his challenger, and the continuing Elemental/Stone rivalry all involved.

Marc Speed of the Machines has been champing at the bit to return to TV, and after Saturday Night Showcase he's seen and seized his chance, asking Mayhem Midden to give him a match against Davis Wayne Newton. Both men are junior members of their factions, but both men have also torn down the house with stunning matches and remarkable displays of determination. When the Third Machine takes on the Triple Threat, we predict good things...

More six-man to follow; the World Heavyweight Championship triple threat are all represented. Jeremy Stone partners up with Sam Keith and Troy Tornado; Wolf Hawkins and Joey Minnesota partner up with Sammy Bach, who of course will be Tornado's opponent at A Little South of Sanity. Will we see more of the manipulation Tornado's accused Bach of?

Prediction Key:

Acid Dragon vs. Texas Outlaws w/ Floyd Bowman

Johnny Bloodstone vs. Kirk Jameson

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Global Tradition (non-title)

Stephanie Wade vs. Zoe Ammis

American Dojo & Canadian Elemental vs. Eternal Party & Freddy Huggins

Davis Wayne Newton w/ Phil Vibert vs. Marc Speed

Jeremy Stone, Sam Keith & Troy Tornado vs. Joey Minnesota, Sammy Bach & Wolf Hawkins w/ Phil Vibert

Acid Dragon vs. Texas Outlaws w/ Floyd Bowman

As much as I would want to pick Acid Dragon they just haven´t done anythink that suggest them being able to beat Outlaws.

Johnny Bloodstone vs. Kirk Jameson

Too much too soon for Jameson.

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Global Tradition (non-title)

I´m tempt to pick Tradition here but lets face it, they have been jobbers for quite some time now and thus I can´t see them going over even in non-title match.

Stephanie Wade vs. Zoe Ammis

Doing more.

American Dojo & Canadian Elemental vs. Eternal Party & Freddy Huggins

Could go either way but right now I feel that heels are slighly more established.

Davis Wayne Newton w/ Phil Vibert vs. Marc Speed

DWN is getting pushed and thus he should win this one.

Jeremy Stone, Sam Keith & Troy Tornado vs. Joey Minnesota, Sammy Bach & Wolf Hawkins w/ Phil Vibert

Tough one and could well be draw but I think that Bach could use a win over Tornado before their big match plus it´s always good idea to pick champion when he´s current challenger aren´t on the other side.

Acid Dragon vs. Texas Outlaws w/ Floyd Bowman

Even if you're pushing Acid Dragon -- which seems unlikely with no established characters or storylines and such a workmanlike team name, but hey, maybe they're good -- the Outlaws are not the team to do it against. (Unless you WANT their storyline to be "two legends and a really promising guy form a stable, underachieve wildly.") The only way I see this turning out any different is if RDJ or Faith has announced impending retirement. And if AD end up getting a win, it's more likely to be against someone whose legitimacy allows them to take the loss -- the Machines, etc.

Johnny Bloodstone vs. Kirk Jameson

Jameson can still get over by losing this one.

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Global Tradition (non-title)

As before, I could see the Lions showing some vulnerability, but this is not the opponent to do it against.

Stephanie Wade vs. Zoe Ammis

Not sure either of them is a draw, but Wade's a lot closer to being viable than Ammis is -- and of course the Rocky Golden link hasn't hurt her.

American Dojo & Canadian Elemental vs. Eternal Party & Freddy Huggins

I wish I could vote differently, but I don't see how a guy just out of the indies + the no. 4 or so guy in a midcard stable = this much success out of the gate.

Davis Wayne Newton w/ Phil Vibert vs. Marc Speed

Hello, DWN solo push! Strange to see YOU this far up the card... even stranger to see Speed in a 1v1 here. But not undeserved, maybe...

Jeremy Stone, Sam Keith & Troy Tornado vs. Joey Minnesota, Sammy Bach & Wolf Hawkins w/ Phil Vibert

Keith is the only one here who looks like a gatekeeper. Bach isn't as big as the other four either, but giving him the loss here would blunt the impact of the Tornado-Darkwave feud.

Acid Dragon vs. Texas Outlaws w/ Floyd Bowman

AD are cool, but the Outlaws occupy a higher card position.

Johnny Bloodstone vs. Kirk Jameson

Yeah but no.

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Global Tradition (non-title)

JOBBERS!

Stephanie Wade vs. Zoe Ammis

Steph Wade has a programme. Zoe does not.

American Dojo & Canadian Elemental vs. Eternal Party & Freddy Huggins

American Dojo are new, and had a solid start. Sadly, Foxy is too low down the card and as such will take the fall.

Davis Wayne Newton w/ Phil Vibert vs. Marc Speed

Davis is going to be the next big thing, he needs to be pushed more.

Jeremy Stone, Sam Keith & Troy Tornado vs. Joey Minnesota, Sammy Bach & Wolf Hawkins w/ Phil Vibert

Draw. Always pick for the draw when there's that much talent in the ring.

UK Dragon taking Texas Pete off his feet and all the way round into a huracanrana pin in the first thirty seconds of this match really does set the pace; on that pinfall attempt failing, Pete turns into an Acid missile dropkick which puts him back on the floor. Acid Dragon have clearly come to this one with a mission, and the two combine very well.</p><p> </p><p>

The Outlaws are on the back foot for almost the entire match, only starting to overhaul this determined assault when Pete manages to take out Acid Dragon with his trademark through-the-ropes suicide dive. With both masked men staggered, he feeds UK Dragon back into the ring to take a Leaping Lariat from RDJ then rolls Acid in – and the Lone Star Drop finishes this one.</p><p>

<em>The Messenger</em> begins to play, promptly seizing the attention of the Outlaws after their surprisingly hard battle. Turning, they see the Easy Riders arrayed on the stage, with Carl Batch stood in front of them.</p><p> </p><p>

Batch raises his microphone to his lips with a grin. “Where I come from, down in Pittsburgh, men are real men. And flippity-floppity acrobats in masks ain't real men. Same thing in New England with my boys here, right?”</p><p> </p><p>

He grins. “No offence to the Canuck and the Brit, but you ain't exactly American made steel. And seems like nor are you Outlaws. I guess you're never gonna be half the men we are.” A decisive nod, but Floyd Bowman has the microphone.</p><p> </p><p>

The Riders don't look happy. Batch smirks. “So that's all you got, is it?”</p><p> </p><p>

Johnny Bloodstone vs. Kirk Jameson</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Jameson gives Bloodstone a respectful nod as the match opens. Bloodstone's nostrils seem to flare, and he rushes in; Jameson drops to one knee as the lock-up happens, preventing him from being backed up. While it gives the experienced former champion a leverage advantage, it allows Jameson to control the pace, blocking the rush. </p><p> </p><p>

He twists into the lockup, deliberately falling to his back and sending Bloodstone across the ring with a variant armdrag, rolling back to his feet fast – about as fast as Bloodstone regains his, coming up at a dead run with a lariat that sends Jameson flipping upside down before he crashes to the mat. </p><p> </p><p>

Immediately, Bloodstone drops to the mat, looking to hold him in place and rain knees into his midsection; what he isn't prepared for, however, is for Jameson to hook his hand around the arm and drive his other arm into the elbow, making the arm buckle and allowing the Elimination Protocol man to roll into it, effectively coming back to his feet with Bloodstone in an armbar.</p><p> </p><p>

Surprised, the crowd actually applaud as, with Johnny trying to rise, Jameson anticipates him, stepping into the back of Johnny's knee to keep him grounded.</p><p> </p><p>

The younger man has leverage and positioning on his side, his face completely expressionless. Bloodstone uses his free hand to drive a fist into Jameson's kidneys; that gives him the opening he needs, rising to his feet and turning the armbar into one of his own with a twist. Jameson promptly releases it, instead locking in a side headlock. He pops his hip, yanking him over and smashing him into the mat before releasing the hold, hitting the ropes and coming off with a dropkick to the head. </p><p> </p><p>

Seeming excited now, he goes for a front chancery – Bloodstone powers out of it, grabbing Jameson by the hair and firing knees into his face. Kirk's head snaps backward, a crimson arc of blood flying upward. A double-leg takedown follows, and Bloodstone looks for the Bloodstone Mutilation, but Jameson just stays clear, rolling through and back to his feet. </p><p> </p><p>

He meets Johnny on his way up with a DDT, then transitions to a pin – one, two – as Bloodstone gets his shoulder up Kirk snags his arm, looking to apply a crossface chickenwing. Johnny blocks that, however, and in the chaos gets into position to hit a snap suplex. </p><p> </p><p>

A series of vicious stomps grind Jameson's face into the mat, and once again Bloodstone looks for the Bloodstone Mutilation, but Kirk manages to squirm his foot to the ropes.</p><p> </p><p>

Furious, Johnny drags him back to the centre of the ring – piledriver attempt – backdrop by Jameson! He looks for that chancery again, this time taking the precaution of planting a foot on his spine first for additional leverage. Bloodstone snarls and squirms in his turn – but in the end he powers back to his feet, leaving Jameson with one leg over Bloodstone's shoulder.</p><p> </p><p>

Johnny boosts him up and dumps him with something almost, but not entirely, unlike a powerbomb. The impact sees Jameson spiked – and this time, the Bloodstone Mutilation comes down. Kirk holds on as long as he can, but he does have to tap, leaving the crowd stunned by the speed and intensity of the match. Bloodstone keeps the hold locked on for another four seconds before releasing it.</p><p>

JeriLynn Stone and Kate Dangerous are seated backstage, drinking Beaver Buzz energy drink and watching a classic Sensational Ogiwara/Crusher Ichihara match on DVD. The door to their locker room slams open, revealing Alicia Strong.</p><p> </p><p>

“I see I still haven't gotten my title shot,” she says, quietly but angrily.</p><p> </p><p>

JeriLynn shrugs. “No, the woman who actually won her contendership has her title shot.”</p><p> </p><p>

“Look. This is the House that Strong Built. I'm a Strong. I don't see how this is that hard to figure out. It's not like there's any competition-”</p><p> </p><p>

“Oh, please,” Kate snorts. “What's your thinking? You won a belt elsewhere? So did I. So did Gorgon. Both of us won belts here, too. So has Makuda, and Cherry Bomb, and Cuthill and Brazzle and Cox and Starr and probably a couple I'm forgetting. JeriLynn earned her way into her title shot, earned her way to the belt.”</p><p> </p><p>

Stone nods. “Maybe this <em>is</em> the House Strong Built – but you aren't that Strong. What this is is the House Midden Runs. Make him care. I'll give you a hint: start out by not being with Generation Omega.”</p><p> </p><p>

Strong's jaw hangs open.</p><p> </p><p>

“We done here?” Dangerous asks sweetly. “Because you don't have to wait your turn, but you've got to earn it. And you won't be doing that here – both of us are rested, healthy, and ready. I don't like your odds.”</p><p> </p><p>

With a slow glower, Strong backs out of the room.</p><p>

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Global Tradition</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

It was always a long shot that this would be as good as the preceding match, but it's certainly still a good one. Morgan and Morgan start out with a five-minute demonstration of traditional Lancashire hold and counter-hold stretching technique.</p><p> </p><p>

The change of pace is something it takes the fans a few moments to really tap into, but after some sort time they start to get interested, cheering for some of the escapes and focusing on others. Eventually, JD switches to a style he learned earlier in his American sojourn, throwing fists eagerly to break a hold Walter had him in, and the pace changes. </p><p> </p><p>

With Bryant in the ring, it changes again; Joel has evidently decided to make an impact, and a flurry of suplexes of various flavours shows exactly what he's chosen to work on. Walter and Merle take a series of hard impacts before finally finding a counter, O'Curle grabbing a leg lock while Bryant sets up the lift for a wheelbarrow suplex.</p><p> </p><p>

At this point it becomes the Lions' game again. Quick tags and changes of holds wear down Joel's leg; JD interferes a couple of times, but the Lions combine to dump him with a stereo suplex and then toss him from the ring. From there, Merle O'Curle goes back to Bryant's leg with an Indian deathlock, finally making the Straight Shooter tap out.</p><p>

Stephanie Wade vs. Zoe Ammis</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The womens' division is continuing to build a following among the TCW fans, and the reception that Wade gets for her first match since coming out on Stone and Dangerous' side seems like a clear demonstration of that.</p><p> </p><p>

Still, you can certainly see why they're starting to win the crowd over; the reception for this one is strong, as Ammis busts out a lot of high-flying moves, Wade clearly uncertain as, for once, she's not the fastest thing in the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

Stephanie doesn't let that stop her, though; she throws a lot of punches, keeping on Ammis, preventing her from using her speed to full effect, repeatedly rocking her on the jaw or around the head with shot after punishing shot – but she doesn't go for a cover, not until she connects with her superkick to add to the punishment.</p><p> </p><p>

“She makes sure,” Dangerous says on commentary. “Doesn't mess around.”</p><p> </p><p>

“Like the song says,” Saunders offers, “she's not here for our entertainment. She's here to win.”</p><p>

Eternal Party & Freddy Huggins</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The American Dojo and Canadian Elemental seem like a surprisingly connected trio during this match; all three men mingle modern North American cruiserweight style with the technical and other expertise and tradition of the Japanese super juniors. </p><p> </p><p>

Against them is a luchador, a cruiserweight, and the master of Edd Fu. As a grouping, much less similar; at the same time, horrifyingly effective. Huggins meets Pathlow boldly, aiming in the early going to go with him and show that he can do anything Pathlow can do. For a while, it seems to work – but sooner or later, Pathlow's wider array of throws starts to tell, and in comes Champagne Lover.</p><p> </p><p>

Lover has a very wide game, able to work well in just about any conceivable style, but he doesn't try to outdo Pathlow in throws here – instead, he uses speed. It's a hit and run game, and Pathlow, rather than suffer attrition, tags out to his partner and student.</p><p> </p><p>

Fox Mask and Elemental switch off a lot in the coming moments, hurtling around the ring, Elemental in particular looking clearly faster than Champagne Lover. He lands the Phoenix Firebird Splash, but Edd is there to break up the pin – and nail an Edd-Renaline Shot while he's at it! Lover covers, but Fox Mask breaks it up before Pathlow comes back in.</p><p> </p><p>

Edd stays out of the match from that point on, until CanEl is back in the ring. At that point, he's constantly in and out of the ring, never quite connecting, never tagging in, drawing several warnings from Ray Johnson as he continues to brush right against illegality.</p><p> </p><p>

The final entrance saves Huggins from an Elemental Suplex – and distracts Can El as Huggins rolls out to make the real tag. The Canadian masked marvel turns around into a Lover Stunner, and Edd moves in to prevent American Dojo from breaking up the pin.</p><p>

<span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/AutumnGleeson.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Autumn Gleeson flashes that welcoming, pearly white smile at the camera once again.</p><p> </p><p>

“Good to see you all again,” she begins. “With me tonight are three men who have to be considered one of the most effective unsung units in TCW today. They've all main evented; as a matter of fact, they've all had the kind of stunning matches we love talking about the next day with friends or online.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/BrentHill.jpg</span><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/HumanArsenal.jpg</span><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/MarcSpeed_FIN4.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

“Just as important to me, they've all held tag gold, either in TCW or elsewhere. They are, of course, the Machines.</p><p> </p><p>

“Marc – you've got a match later on tonight, but it seems to me as if, recently, the three of you have been biding your time, title-wise. Why is that?”</p><p> </p><p>

Before Speed can talk, however, John Anderson raises his hand. “As far as titles go,” he says, “it's actually pretty simple. We've wrestled the British Lions a lot. They're good to wrestle; they're a measure of how good you are, no matter when you face them. And they've only just won the titles – they deserve breathing space.</p><p> </p><p>

“So they're getting a couple of months to enjoy themselves with the titles, a couple months' time in the sun, before we come for them. There aren't many teams who've held the TCW belts three times; just the Vessey Brothers and the Demons of War. We want to be on that list – we deserve to be on that list, and in fact, me and Brent aim to outdo the Vesseys by the time our careers are through. </p><p> </p><p>

“Maybe that'll be tag title reigns. Maybe it'll be holding the World Heavyweight Championship a time or two each. But mark my words, it's gonna happen.”</p><p> </p><p>

He nods, and Marc Speed takes over talking. “Me, well, I had a couple of shots. I'm going to have more – but there's more than one way to make a name for yourself. We call ourselves the Machines, and that's about how well we wrestle – but it's also about how we function together.</p><p> </p><p>

“We're a well-oiled machine; anyone who's seen the three of us in the ring at once knows we coexist perfectly. I've got Brent's back, he's got mine, we've both got John's and he'll watch out for both of us.</p><p> </p><p>

“So it kind of stings to see Generation Omega getting all the press when they started out by admitting they'd go after each other, sooner or later. That's not what we're about; it's not what we do; hell, it's not how we <em>think</em>. And there's more than one way to make a name – so tonight, I'm going to beat the Triple Threat, because that system of theirs has way too many flaws – so let's derail that train. Who's with me?”</p><p> </p><p>

They stalk off the set as <em>To Hell We Ride</em> begins to play, heralding Davis Wayne Newton to the ring for the semi-main event.</p><p> </p><p>

Davis Wayne Newton w/ Phil Vibert vs. Marc Speed</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

These two are potential future stars. In this contest, they show that – but they also show that neither of them are quite there yet.</p><p> </p><p>

Still, the crowd are into it, particularly with Speed's pre-match declaration of war against Generation Omega. Exchanges are crisp and slick, if perhaps – in places – a little predictable. The match starts technically, works up to a brawl, and then increases in speed still further, with 'Speedball' matching the Triple Threat pretty well on each shift before blocking a tornado DDT attempt – by turning it, with Davis already in mid-air, into a Northern Lights suplex. </p><p> </p><p>

Suddenly the crowd start to wake up. Marc Speed doesn't get the pin there, but he keeps right on Davis, not allowing him to recover, and in due course, after a couple of dropkicks to the shoulder, the locks down the Cross Armbreaker in the very centre of the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

Ultimately, Newton has to tap to the third Machine in something of an upset.</p><p>

Joey Minnesota, Sammy Bach & Wolf Hawkins w/ Phil Vibert</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Six men stare one another down; after a bit of conversation, Tornado starts for his side, bouncing up and down on the balls of his feet, his usual blur of constant motion. By contrast, the other team spend maybe twenty or thirty seconds in debate, Bach clearly doing most of the talking, before Joey Minnesota takes point for their side.</p><p> </p><p>

Joey and Troy circle for a few moments, then close. Troy halts at the last moment, instead meeting Joey with a boot to the gut. A quick shuffle of the feet accompanied by three punches and he goes straight to a slam, dropping an elbow almost as soon as Minnesota's back hits the canvas – then Tornado kips up.</p><p> </p><p>

Barely half a second later, Joey kips up himself. Both men wheel and standoff – Bach springs to the top rope, looking to take advantage of a distracted Tornado, but a piercing whistle from Sam Keith alerts the former champion, who swivels and leaps, meeting Bach with a dropkick.</p><p> </p><p>

Minnesota drops down as Tornado starts to rise, grabbing a chancery to control. He cranks back on it, obviously using leverage to crank back further and further on Tornado's neck, and Troy, bereft of other options, slowly moves backward. </p><p> </p><p>

His feet pass under the bottom rope; he starts to slide out of the ring and Jeremy Stone comes in fast, delivering a punch to Minnesota's gut that breaks his hold on Troy, who rolls to the outside, the tag now official.</p><p> </p><p>

Stone locks up with Minnesota then shifts position, looking for a German suplex, only for Minnesota to elbow free. He reverses it, hits the German, holds on to the bridge – ONE, TWO, THR- Stone gets his shoulder up, rolling back to his feet. </p><p> </p><p>

Minnesota comes in fast; Stone meets him with a backdrop. Joey rolls out of the ring; Jeremy whips his head around, focusing in on Wolf Hawkins, who slowly enters the ring, the two mens' eyes locked on one another.</p><p> </p><p>

Just then, Tornado and Keith explode across the ring simultaneously, crashing into a Sammy Bach who'd positioned himself outside Stone and referee Williams' lines of sight, knocking him tumbling from the ring before he can intervene.</p><p> </p><p>

Wolf and Jeremy collide, throwing punches to start with. Hawkins gets the advantage on that, raining down more shots before Stone manages to rally, firing back with vicious chops before spinning Wolf around and to the mat with a neckbreaker. He steps over Hawkins' prone form and looks for a stretch muffler, only for the champion to kick free.</p><p> </p><p>

In comes Minnesota again; the pair of them take it in turns to take shots at Stone, but when Minnesota aims a kick Jeremy ducks out. Joey nails Hawkins full in the face as Sam Keith comes into the ring, dumping Minnesota on his head with a half-nelson suplex and dragging Hawkins down into a cradle – ONE, TWO, THR-</p><p> </p><p>

Hawkins explodes out of the cradle, hits the ropes, and nails Sam with a stiff punch. Keith spins a full circle around – Wolf grabs him, WOLF'S CALL! ONE, TWO, THRE-</p><p> </p><p>

Tornado drops the leg across Hawkins' neck, sliding out of the ring after that huge top-rope drop. Bach goes face-to-face with Troy on the outside, the staredown lasting only as long as it takes for Minnesota to nail Tornado from behind. He looks to set up for the Empire Spiral, but Bach stops him, looking for the Adrenaline Shot himself.</p><p> </p><p>

Unfortunately for him, Jeremy Stone cuts him off with a baseball slide. “You know,” Azaria says, “I can see that Bach's got some kind of agreement with his partners to help him set up Tornado, but it looks like Tornado, Keith and Stone are actually just watching out for one another – and they're not worried about backstabbing.”</p><p> </p><p>

In the ring, meanwhile, Sam Keith and Wolf Hawkins have just about recovered and brawled over to the corner, where Hawkins takes over, firing off a volley of kicks to the gut. He adds another, higher kick to the head, and Keith topples over the top rope and out to the floor – which naturally brings in ally Troy Tornado to 'tag' his way into the match.</p><p> </p><p>

This exchange of punches doesn't go so well for Wolf, and Troy capitalises, whipping him off the ropes and then bailing. Before Hawkins reaches the far ropes, Stone is in the ring, perfectly positioned to turn all that momentum into a Stone's Throw. </p><p> </p><p>

Minnesota breaks up the pin – and Tornado nails him with a bulldog, rolling out of the ring. Bach pauses on the top rope, wondering about coming in – but he pauses too long; as Stone rolls out of the ring, Keith slides in, slamming Bach off the top rope. He tags out to Troy, then, and Troy whips Hawkins over the top rope and out the ring as he recovers.</p><p> </p><p>

By that time, Joey Minnesota is back on his feet; Tornado bounces off the ropes to keep Bach down with an elbow drop and pops up facing the third man in the upcoming World Heavyweight Championship match.</p><p> </p><p>

“He wasn't going to come and rescue <em>you</em>,” he calls, loudly enough that the camera microphones pick it up. “I got my buddies still up and standing. You want more of this?”</p><p> </p><p>

With a grin and a lopsided shrug, Minnesota rolls back out of the ring. As Bach makes it back to his feet, Keith whistles that same note, and Tornado immediately launches backward into the Whirlwind Kick with perfect timing to nail him. The cover follows – ONE, TWO, THREE!</p><p>

Jeremy Stone has already collected a microphone by the end of the count, and as Tornado and Keith celebrate he climbs into the ring, too. Looking down on the fallen Wolf Hawkins, Stone grins.</p><p> </p><p>

“You don't get to overlook me, Wolf,” he says. “You don't get to concentrate on Malice in Wonderland. You don't get to hunt after Tommy Cornell.</p><p> </p><p>

“You are the World Heavyweight Champion, and this month, one of your challengers is me... and you do not get to look past that, like my challenge doesn't matter.</p><p> </p><p>

“You want to chase after Cornell, you need to be free. A champion has duties. He's got to show up and defend the belt against all comers. He has to be the icon. The man everyone looks to. The example.</p><p> </p><p>

“Petty vendettas don't fit in that – that's what guys like you never understand. Believe me, I've outlasted a dozen or more like you, and in the end, your obsession costs you.</p><p> </p><p>

“You're too fixated, Wolf. You're overlooking the hunters at your door, and a champion can't afford to do that. You don't get to do that.</p><p> </p><p>

“But don't worry – this Sunday, I'll take the belt from you and you won't have to worry about it all any more.”</p><p> </p><p>
