captainlou
BAM! Gold always looks good around the big man's waist. Congrats! Thanks. Mark was able to get the upper hand first then Hayes battled back and fought through two iron claws. I guess those two times took their toll, as well as the blood, on him when the lariat finally found it's target. Mark hasn't been in the territory that long but the winning streak there continued the building of the popularity that started in SECW and helped him climb the contender's list for the belt. Greg McNeish
Great Lakes: C- Mid Atlantic: D Mid South: C Mid West: E New England: D North West: C South East: B+ South West: F Tri State: D Puerto Rico: F Looks like what you really need to do is boost popularity outside the South East, as all pushes are based on National popularity, regardless of promotion size. You've got a few Fs on there. Might I suggest picking up a contract (you've got space for it) in one of those regions. Just one tour through each of those territories should be enough to bring you bigger things, throughout the country. After all, there's only so much higher you can go, with B+ in the South East, especially since you won't be facing competition anywhere near that level. Just some friendly advice. We all want to see Mark become a national (or better) icon. Cheers!

For Mark to go to the promotions in the South West or Puerto Rico, he would have to join either Polynesian Pacific Wrestling (PPW), a local size promotion, in Hawaii or Carlos Colon's World Wrestling Council (WWC) in Puerto Rico, a regional size promotion. Isn't the location of the matches taken into account as well as the main location of a promotion? This past Tuesday, at the house show "Endless Beach Tour", we were in Puerto Rico and a few weeks before that, I think, CWF had a show in the Tri State area. Greg McNeish
Yes, it's the location of the show that counts. I'm just saying that if you're in one of those feds, you'll get more regular exposure in those locations. You could win a handicap match against Jesus, Mohammed, and Buddha, and the gain still wouldn't be monumental, from just one match. Just a thought, to try to speed up the process. I would try Mr. Colon's WWC but it has conflicts during the week. WWC has a show every Tuesday but it conflicts with CWF's weekly Endless Beach Tour. WWC also has a show on Friday and it will conflict with PNW's Big Time Wrestling.

captainlou
What about the Maivias? PPW doesn't have a regular schedule. It posts shows at the beginning of each month but I don't know how many per month. For all I know, it could be one show a week.
captainlou
After checking the PPW schedule again, it runs the PX Center Extravaganza once a month from January thru November and "Christmas on the Islands" in December. That's it as far as it's events. I can only make 5 of the 12 shows. As far as WWC is concerned, I can't make the weekly house show on Tuesdays, due to CWF's Endless Beach Tour, nor can I make the weekly TV taping on Fridays, due to PNW's TV taping. As far as the special monthly house shows are concerned, I can make 8 of the 12. Both PNW and CWF take preference over WWC, although all three are regional sized promotions, when there are conflicts. Currently, my targets for the cult sized, or larger, promotions are the same as his actual years with the exception of WCCW. IRL, he started in WCCW in the summer of '84 but, obviously, I was not popluar enough then nor in the summer of '85.
Greg McNeish
Cool. Thanks for checking on that stuff, Cap. I guess that throws my whole suggestion out the window.... Cheers!
Moderndaywarrior
IIRC in my created rookie game,Cult federations started giving me work once I started hitting C+ or so pop in around 6 areas(i.e.the majority of the U.S.) Generally what I found with promotions is they will run in the region they are based in,and usually regions which would touch them geographically, but pretty much never stray out of their greater overall Region they are grouped under(since I believe the rules for growing from Regional to Cult requires a certain popularity within a cetain number of locations within your region,so going outside your region would be pointless until going for Global).I think the overall popularity of the promotion compared to its competitors based in the same region also factors in. For example Steel Belt Wrestling is based in Tri State; the run semi-regularly in Tri State because it is their base territory where they must compete with a much higher Cult level Fed(WWF)....they also often run in Great Lakes which is geographically adjacent by WS2 logic and there is only small promotion to compete with there(DCW). Mid South tends to run its home region of Mid South(MSW is right on the borderline between Regional and Cult so it can compete with WCCW and easy outclasses SWCW and HCW) and also usually South East(only GCW is close to MSW in terms of size/pop and is not that much bigger than MSW). On the other hand a promotion like PNW tends to stay to itself since it is the only promotion in it's region, and the adjoining territories (Mid West and South West) both have much promotions to compete with. This also explains why promotions sometimes do oddball things like CWA doing shows in Puerto Rico...there's only one promotion there, which being hardcore is of a different style than almost every other promotion, and is included withing the U.S. Region so the AI feels it has a shot at building some popularity there. Greg McNeish
In my Hitman game (hoping to have a post ready before I go to work in an hour), I've seen Stampede running The Prairies and British Columbia, while MLW & IWA have been really gunning for each other, both running shows in Ontario & Quebec.
