This is an excerpt from a shoot video that was taped by some Mid Atlantic Wrestling fans

Interviewer

Thank you for sitting down with us, Mr. Chord. Rip, you have seen the wrestling business transform over a few decades. You've seen the ups and the downs. Professional wrestling is in a different place now than what you are used to. Do you like the current wrestling product and do you think it is heading in the right direction?

Rip Chord

Do I like the current product put out there? Hell no! I probably sound like the cliche old fart, but it isn't like it used to be. I grew up in a time when it was all about sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll...and wrestling. Hair metal and headbutts... It was a time when wrestling meant something. A wrestling match between Sam Strong and I was like a Van Halen concert. Now wrestling is a joke! And do I think it is heading in the right direction? The only way it would be able to head in a good direction is if it hops in a DeLorean, jack that puppy up to 88 miles-per-hour, and send this industry back to 1984.

Interviewer

That is what I was getting to next, Rip. Your promotion, Mid Atlantic Wrestling, seems to try and adopt some old school tendencies. Do you think you can send the business in the right direction with Mid Atlantic Wrestling? If so, how are you going to do it?

Rip Chord

Can Mid Atlantic Wrestling change the reckless course that this business is on? I don't know...we are just a small company. MAW is old school...I molded that way. I believe that is how wrestling should be! What I can do is groom the next stars that will be in the ring for companies like TCW and SWF. What I can do is teach those kids all I know. It is up to them to change this business, it is up to the suits to accept some risk, it is up to the fans to like the product. Back in my day, I paid my dues and made the most of the opportunities given to me. I'm not saying that the up-and-comers are lazy. I'm saying that no one is giving them a chance. Back in my day, we drank beer and threw dropkicks! It was a simpler time...better for a simple sport like wrestling. But then again...that was back in my day...

Back in my day...

Looking good. The most fun I've ever had with CornellVerse is with MAW. It'll be nice to see how different yours is than mine. Too bad you don't have me playing as WCW to tear you apart like in a dynasty before. I needed to take that Sting vs. Flair feud to the vet because that puppy was sick!

But I'm ready to fire up the Fiero and head back to the 80's with some MAW action.

Thanks...not! I was whooping your backside in that dynasty. Good thing we didn't get too far into that game or you would have no dignity left. WWF doesn't lose...you can't beat history.

Mid Atlantic Wrestling Back In My Day

What was your favorite year of the NWA/Mid-Atlantic territory?

Mine was 1985. That was the first full year that I followed wrestling. I was 5 years old. I wasnt able to watch WWF on TV until later in 1986. I still preferred NWA. I still watch the old DVDs from that year every week.

Please share your favorite memories of your favorite year.

This is a phone call made by Rip Chord at 3:00 AM

http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/RipChord.jpg

Rip Chord

Hey...

http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/SamStrong_alt.jpg

Sam Strong

Rip, it's three in the morning. Are you drunk?

Rip Chord

I wish, Sam. A Jackie Daniels would do old Rip well. Just wanted to talk to one of my oldest friends.

Sam Strong

Yeah, I would kind of feel weird if you drunk dialed me at three. Usually when people call after midnight they are either drunk or in trouble. What is up, bud?

Rip Chord

Nothing is wrong, Sammy! I was just reminiscing... Memories keep running through my head. Things were so good in the past. I wish it was like it used to be.

Sam Strong

Rip, you need to quit dwelling in the past. Times are different, things have changed. Maybe it is time that you change, Rip. Maybe it is time to quit living in the past. It's time to move on, man.

Rip Chord

Yeah, maybe you're right...

Sam Strong

Well listen...I got to get to sleep. I have a long day ahead of me. Goodnight, Rip.

This is a video announcement from MAWrestling.com

http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/RipChord.jpg

Rip Chord

How in the name of Hades do you work one of these computer cams? Oh, there we go! This webcam stuff is more complicated than the Redbox at the Walgreens around the corner. Hello, Mid Atlantic Wrestling fans! It is that time again...that's right it is time for the tournament that has defined MAW and it has a pretty cool name, too. It is The 3rd Annual Rip Chord Invitational Challenge. I'm here to announce the participants in the tournament and the opening round matches. Now lets get down to business! The first participant is the current Mid Atlantic Champion, yes "The Shooting Star" Erik Strong His opponent is Antonio, the youngster who will do anything to get a victory.

http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/ErikStrong_alt4.jpghttp://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/SingleVersus.jpghttp://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/Antonio.jpg

Rip Chord

"The Shooting Star" will have his hands full with one of the rising stars in MAW, Antonio. Antonio is someone who I see big things in his future with Mid Atlantic Wrestling. Even though this is a first round match, Erik Strong isn't going to get off easy. The Champion is going to have to work hard to move on to the next round. The winner of that match will take on the winner of this next match. In the next match we have MAW's first champion, "Mean" Jean Cattley facing off against USPW phenomenon, "Mighty Fine" Darryl Devine.

http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/MeanJeanCattley.jpghttp://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/SingleVersus.jpghttp://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/DarrylDevine.jpg

Word around the locker room is that Cattley doesn't like outsiders. Darryle Devine is a formidable opponent, though. Devine is a has won the USPW National title on more than one occasion and can hold his own against veteran wrestlers like "Mean" Jean. Cattley will try to hold down the MAW fort, but the outcome might show the outsider being victorious. Again, the winner of that match will take on the winner of Strong/Antonio. The first match for the other side of the bracket is highlighted by someone who is dead set on taking out all forms of organization. This man is against rule and regulation. He is an anarchist and quite the wrestler, too. This man is Citizen X! Citizen X is ruthless and has no regard for the law. Citizen X's opponent will be a person who stands for everything X is against. This man signifies patriotism, respect, loyalty. Citizen X's opponent in the first round will be The Masked Patriot.

http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/CitizenX.jpghttp://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/SingleVersus.jpghttp://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/BulldozerBrandon_alt2.jpg

This is quite the clash of personalities. On one side you have, Citizen X, a man that shuns authority and morals. He has a passion to get rid of justice. On the other side there is The Masked Patriot. This man shows his passion for what the United States stands for. He stands for healthy morals, something Citizen X spits in the face of. Anyways, the next match is between "Pretty Boy" Oscar Golden, current Mid Atlantic Tag Team Champion. His opponent is someone who knows The Rip Chord Invitaional very well. Actually, he is the only person to even win this tournament. He is making his return to the Mid Atlantic ring, he is James "Mainstream" Hernandez!

http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/OscarGolden.jpghttp://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/SingleVersus.jpghttp://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/MainstreamHernandez.jpg

Will "Mainstream" be able to make it three in a row? If he is able to it would payoff big time, because whoever wins The 3rd Annual Rip Chord Invitational has a title shot in their back pocket for a whole year. I know what you're asking yourself, "What about Erik Strong, current Mid Atlantic Champion?" Well, if Strong is able to win he will not only have a chance to revenge a loss with his rematch clause, but also with the one that comes with winning the tournament. So, Strong has two title shots in his arsenal upon losing the Mid Atlantic Championship. This year's tournament guarantees to be a good one. If you don't show up, be sure to either buy our videos online at MAWrestling.com. Oh, and don't pirate them! Someone told me to say that...

Structure...the most vile word that I have ever heard! That is why it upsets me that I have to to participate in this tournament. "He faces him, then if he wins he'll face him..." How about this idea? You just give the damn trophy to me! I know that isn't going to happen because Rip's all about "competition". It doesn't matter. I'm going to win anyways. Who is even in this tournament? I'll tell you who. People with morals, limits, boundaries. I don't have limits and that is what will be give me the edge. These corporate, cookie-cutter wrestlers don't stand a chance against me. I will do whatever it takes to be the one who is left victorious. Either it be Erik Strong or "Mainstream" Hernandez, they don't have a chance against me. When I do win, a new era will start in Mid Atlantic Wrestling. Anarchy will ensue...then MAW will be all for X to take. First, The 3rd Annual Rip Chord Invitational will be mine. Then, Erik Strong's Mid Atlantic Championship will be all mine. Then this whole place will be mine. Justice and structure will be out the window and the person who will be left standing in all of this rubble is me, Citizen X. I know that is the last thing everyone would want to see. A world that is molded by someone with no design. But times are changing, people, and Citizen X is going to be at the helm. I don't follow a pattern and I do not believe government shall rule. Only one thing should rule. Anarchy will rule!

"Mainstream" Hernandez

¡Hola! It's that time of the year. January is a month that I have made my own here at Mid Atlantic Wrestling. Also, something else I have made my own is The Rip Chord Invitational. I've won that thing twice. How many times has it been held, cameraman? Oh, it's only been held twice? Wow! I had no idea. I guess I'll just have to win it again this year. I would say lets change it to the The James Hernandez Memorial Tournament, but I have a lot of respect for Rip Chord...he's one of my heroes. Now it is hard to avoid one of the combatants in this tournament. I'm talking about Citizen X. Every time I get on to this website I see his ugly mug. All I want to do is see what is going on in the world of Mid Atlantic Wrestling, but I get stuck listening to this punk's rant. X, you say you are going to run this place after the tournament. Sad thing is you're not even going to make it past me...maybe not even to me. I have a lot of respect for some of the people in this tournament...you are not one of them. Beating your back end will make my return to MAW worth while. Now to all the "Mainstream" Maniacs, come out and see your favorite wrestler. All you senoritas get to see me strut my stuff and all you boyfriends you can come too, but don't get jealous. Erik Strong..."The Shooting Star", you are a great wrestler and I am your friend, but after I win this tournament, you know that title is mine. Remember one thing, I don't slow down for anyone! Lío con la mejor y te vas a caer con el resto!

Winner: Citizen X

I expect a Devine/Citizen X final for several reasons.

1.) Devine has a TV deal, and more exposure. Beating him would be a major deal.

2.) Mean Machine notwithstanding, Citizen X is the Main eventer who best meshes with Erik Strongs Style. I expect his first feud to be with X for the belt before The Mean Machine comes back to take his throne.

This video has just been posted on MAWrestling.com

http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/RipChord.jpg

Rip Chord

I have just got off the phone with Darryl Devine and he has informed me that he has signed a contract with Supreme Wrestling Federation. He told me that after The 3rd Annual Rip Chord Invitational, he won't be able to wrestle out of SWF. Devine said that it would be unnecessary to participate in the tournament since he wouldn't be able to cash in his title shot. I had to react quick to fill Devine's shoes in the tournament. Luckily, I was able to find someone who would be a good fit to participate in this tournament. He has made a name for himself in CZCW. The person taking Darryl Devine's spot in The 3rd Annual Rip Chord Invitational is...Fox Mask!

http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac341/MoneyMolly/Back%20In%20My%20Day/FoxMask.jpg

Fox Mask will now be the person who will take on "Mean" Jean Cattley. Once again, Cattley does not like outsiders and this still applies now that Fox Mask is taking him on. Fox Mask has had a lot of success in his career and will give "Mean" Jean some trouble. Now back to Devine. Darryl will still be wrestling at the show. This match will take place between the quarterfinals and the semifinals of The 3rd Annual Rip Chord Invitational. This match will give someone on the MAW roster a chance to prove themselves. He will be in non-tournament action against "The Second Generation Superstar" Cameron Vessey.

With a new match to card and a new wrestler participating in The 3rd Annual Rip Chord Invitational, things are starting to heat up here in Mid Atlantic Wrestling. Remember to come out to Stanley Hall in Baltimore, Maryland. If you don't already have tickets, I'm sure you'll be able to get them at the door. Also, if you can't attend, keep a lookout for the DVDs on MAWrestling.com.
