WWF Smackdown 10/8/10

Out comes the World Heavyweight Champion John Cena, who talks about his victory last Sunday and says that he might have met a polarizing reaction, but he understands that the Undertaker has been around for a while and he has dedicated fans. He talks about victory in Hell in a Cell and he shifts gear to Bragging Rights, where he is going to go one on one with with RAW's WWE Champion CM Punk, although Cena admits that it could be against Triple H after this Monday, in a return match from the main event of Wrestlemania 22. Cena talks about how he's beat Triple H once and how he's been beaten by Triple H once back at Night of the Champions 2008 on Pay Per view, now its time for the rubber match but he says that he knows Punk won't give up the belt. Out comes CM Punk, dressed in a three piece suite, with the WWE Championship belt draped over his shoulder. Punk talks about how its an honor to face Cena at Bragging Rights and Cena looks confused. Punk talks about there are very few men in WWE that are pure and without taint, that have never used artificial means to achieve their success. Punk talks about how Cena pushed himself, without use of drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, or any of the other vices. Punk offers his hand to shake Cena and says that it was going to be an honor...but this man might have something to say.

In runs Ted DiBiase from the back. Cena attacks DiBiase but Punk knocks Cena out from behind with a shot with the WWE Championship Belt. Cena has been laid out as DiBiase yells that he's cashing in on his return match clause from Night of Champions this Monday on Raw and he hits the Dream Street. DiBiase wants the World Heavyweight Championship belt and right now while Punk and Cena is tentative for bragging rights, that could change with Triple H and Ted DiBiase getting title shots at those champions respectively on Monday.

Jack Swagger pinned Unified Tag Team Champion Evan Bourne with a pop up superplex in 14:44 Bourne has a huge match this Monday against Frankie Kazarian and he is perhaps looking a bit past Swagger. Bourne went for his patented Air Bourne Shooting Star Press but Swagger runs up the ropes and hits a huge superplex, before hitting it for the pin. (C+)

Out comes Matt Hardy after the next commercial break. He talks about how he might not have been getting many wins as of late but the fans are going to see the real Matt Hardy pretty soon. He talks about how Kazarian and his goons on ECW are really making everyone looking over his shoulder, but Hardy can see Kazarian dancing on someone else's puppet strings, someone who has an extreme vendetta against WWE and Sports Entertainment, especially what happened to ECW and how it changed from what it was originally was. Matt Hardy says that he will be on ECW this Tuesday to expose Kazarian. The announcers wonder if Matt Hardy is onto something or is just being paranoid. Hardy has not been at his best as of late, having lost several steps, but he still has a lot of heart, guts, and determination to get it done on Smackdown.

Matt Hardy pinned Chavo Guerrero with the Twist of Fate in 8:02 Chavo beats on Hardy but Hardy fights back. Hardy is caught on the top rope and Frog Splash misses, before Hardy hits the Twist of Fate for the pin. Hardy leaves the ring, as his potential confrontation with Frankie Kazarian is talked about for this Tuesday on ECW. (C-)

Chris Jericho cuts a promo tonight, talking about how he's going to put the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the line against Christian but he warns this is Christian's final chance to win the title. Jericho also adds that he's going to take on the United States Champion the Big Show as part of the Best of Seven Series at Bragging Rights and he talks about how he carried the Big Show to glory as part of Jerishow and their Unified Tag Team Title reign. Jericho steps back and walks off smug. It will be Jericho against Show at Bragging Rights, at least for now but it could be Christian against Show if Christian regains the United States Title.

Kane pinned the Miz with the Choke Slam in 6:22 The Miz took out Kane after begging off early with a low blow. He beats on Kane during this match but Kane kicks Miz in the face and hits the Choke Slam for the pin. (C-)

The Undertaker pinned Dolph Ziggler with a choke slam in 16:32 An impressive match, with the Undertaker throwing Ziggler around but Ziggler hitting and moving, in an attempt to take the Undertaker down. Undertaker fights out but Ziggler counters a Tombstone with a reverse DDT. He goes for the Zig Zag but the Undertaker counters with a choke slam for the pin. (B-)

After the match, the lights go out and Sheamus and Paul Burchill attack the Undertaker in the ring. They're on RAW, they're not supposed to be on this show! Out comes Kane to make the save, but the Undertaker has been beaten down and knocked around quite a bit by Sheamus and Burchill.

Christian cuts a promo, talking about how tonight, he's going to get the return match against Chris Jericho tonight and recapture the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Chris Jericho made Christian tap out to the Walls of Jericho in 18:57 to keep the WWE Intercontinental Title Christian and Jericho had a back and forth encounter, with Christian hitting a series of elbows but Jericho fights out of a hold hold on his own, hitting a series of blistering chest chops and kneelifts to the chest, as Christian returns fire. Tornado DDT by Christian gets a nearfall. He goes to the outside but Jericho catches him with a Code Breaker coming off the top roep for a nearfall. Jericho beats on Christian and Lionsault is avoided and Christian hits a Frog Splash for a nearfall. Christian beats on Jericho, before setting him up and shoving him off, before going for another Code Breaker but Christian counters with a jack-knife cradle but Jericho bridges out and backslides him for a nearfall. Christian goes for a dropkick but Jericho catches the legs and applies the Walls of Jericho for the submission. (B)

Jericho keeps the belt and goes onto Bragging Rights to face the United States Champion and former tag team partner, the Big Show.

WWE Monday Night RAW 10/11/10

As of this RAW, we've been back on the USA Network for five years and we have an impressive line up for tonight. We're going to kick things off with the WWE Championship Match between CM Punk and Triple H, the first of four huge championship matches tonight on this three hour edition of RAW and also, the RAW General Manager is on his way here!

Triple H defeated WWE Champion CM Punk via disqualification after Punk hit a blatant low blow in front of the referee in 9:55 The fans are cheering, as Triple H makes an attempt to win the belt back and despite some lingering injuries from Hell In a cell, there is an admirable level of determination by the Game. Triple H fights back and goes for the Pedigree, but Punk counters with a low blow. The referee warns Punk and Punk spits at the referee, before hitting two kicks to the groin of Triple H and the referee calls for the bell, for the disqualification. (A)

Punk leaves, smug expression on his face and Triple H is doubled over, in anger and in pain. The fact of the matter is that Punk got himself disqualified, thus proving the old statement that the challenger has to beat the champion by pinfall or submission but the champion does not have to beat the challenger.

Suddenly, a loud truck horn echoes throughout the arena and some music drums up to reveal...Kevin Nash walking down to the ringside area dressed in a suit! Nash comes out and states that the Board of Directors needed a General Manager who was not going to be intimidated by your average RAW competitor, to enforce the decisions. Therefore there is no one bigger than Kevin Nash. Nash talks to Punk, saying that he got himself disqualified but Nash as his first official act as General Manager, throws that match out! Punk yells and says that tonight, Triple H is going to get his title shot against Punk again, but this time, both men will be inside the confines of a steel cage. No countouts and no disqualification. The only way to win is by pinfall, submission, or rendering your opponent weakened enough so you can escape the cage over the top. The door will be locked and that way is out. Nash talks about how tonight is going to be the beginning of a new era and as long as everyone plays to the rules, it will be fine, but if they have problems toeing the long, than Nash is going to smack them down.

Frankie Kazarian pinned Evan Bourne after avoiding the Air Bourne and rolling him up with the La Magistral Cradle in 10:44 Both men had a nice back and forth match. Their was a handshake before the bell and Kazarian broke cleanly, which surprised Bourne. Also, while the Specialists, Kaval, and Nick Dinsmore stood on the ramp, they did not get involved. Bourne hits a faceplant and goes for the Air Bourne but Kazarian rolls out of the way and then hits the La Magistral Cradle. Afterwards, Kazarian makes a point to check on Bourne and pull him up, before he grabbed the microphone and says the offer is still open to join Kazarian's group, but Bourne better make a decision one way or another soon. He gives Bourne until the Unified Tag Team Title Match(providing Rey gets back before the thirty day window), to give him his response. (B-)

Bryan Danielson is backstage, his neck taped up as he does stretching exercises when Josh Mathews tries to get a word with him. He says that he came back, despite doctor's warning him not to, because he is a champion and he isn't going to lose the ECW Championship on the thirty day clause. Danielson blows off the question about the possibility of him joining Kazarian, talking about how he doesn't have time to talk about that and he's going to do into the ring and remind the fans what the “W” in ECW stands for when he faces Justin Gabriel in a few moments.

ECW Champion Bryan Danielson pinned Justin Gabriel after Nick Dinsmore interfered with a half nelson German Suplex in 9:04 Kazarian, the Specialialists, Kaval, and Nick Dinsmore watched from the rampway. Gabriel showed some impressive fire in his first championship match and he beats on Danielson, including a DDT with both men on the ropes right on his neck, which obviously is still rattled from Kazarian's assault a few weeks ago. Gabriel and Danielson exchange headbutts with both men collapsing down, Gabriel on the outside and Danielson on the floor. As the referee checks on the champion, Nick Dinsmore enters the ring and grabs Gabriel, before dropping him on his head with a half nelson German Suplex. Back out of the ring and Danielson enters the ring, before he collapses on top of the unconscious Gabriel for the pin! The fans boo slightly, as Kazarian just applauds Danielson's victory from the ramp. Perhaps there could be some conspiracy going on. (B-)

Out comes the WWE Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho, who talks about how the Big Show is lost without him and just staggering around without a means. Jericho talks about how he is here to prove that he's on the superior brand and tonight he has a match with R-Truth. He calls R-Truth out, talking about he'll find out that what's up is the lights, when Jericho pins him.

R-Truth pinned Chris Jericho with a backslide after Show drilled him with the Knockout Punch in 14:22 Both men had an impressive match, with lots of back and forth action. RAW's R-Truth got some offense rolling but the dastardly heel tactics that we've come to known from Jericho took center stage. Code Breaker and out comes the Big Show. Jericho chooses to leisurely beat Truth down. Jericho throws Truth into the corner and Jericho walks over, as the referee checks on Truth. Show nails Jericho right in the face with the Knockout Punch and caused him to stagger into a backslide from Truth for the pin! Truth has scored an impressive win and leaves the ring, as Show stands in the ring, with a menacing look on his face. (B)

We are backstage, where Kevin Nash is talking to Eve Torres backstage, talking about how he could use a personal assistant to take care of a few things and offers to talk to her after the show. Nash winks at the camera, as we see Zack Ryder enter the room backstage, talking about how he's been overlooked and demands that the ring crew be kicked out of the ring area. Nash calls for security, wondering how a fan could have gotten backstage and throws him a couple of hundred dollar bills, advising him to get a pair of pants with both legs. In comes Sheamus and Paul Burchill, who talk about how they made an impact on Smackdown but now they're not on the show. Nash says that he can't put everyone on the show but he offers them a piece of the pie at Bragging Rights. A tag team match as part of the best of seven against the Undertaker and Kane, where they can cement themselves as the most dominant team. Nash sits down at the desk, as his first night of the job is underling how chaotic things can be in the WWE.

Unified Women's Champion Beth Phoenix defeated Gail Kim via disqualification when Michelle McCool and Layla interfered in 5:55 These two women had the beginnings of something special but Team Laycool decided to interject themselves into the match. Michelle and Layla beat down the champion after the match but Gail Kim helps even the odds and champion and challenger stand tall but there is a moment of uneasiness and obviously there will be a return match down the line. (C-)

A recap of John Cena capturing the World Heavyweight Championship from Ted DiBiase and DiBiase attacking Cena, to set up their return match tonight.

Out comes Randy Orton to interrupt the next match, talking about how it is an injustice that Cena was once again allowed to compete on RAW after Orton banished him. Orton talks about how Cena was never supposed to step foot on this show and this is the second time that he got around this stipulation. Orton talks about how if that was the case, he should receive a WWE Championship match much sooner than the six month grace period. Out comes John Cena, who talks about how Orton might have beaten him but Cena has returned with a vengeance on another show while Orton hit the skids as of late. Orton yells that Cena won't disrespect him on RAW and slaps Cena in the face. Cena responds with a knee and gives Orton the Attitude Adjustment! The fans cheer, as Ted DiBiase runs out, in attacking Cena before the bell with a belt shot and the Dream Street!

World Heavyweight Champion John Cena made Ted DiBiase tap out to the STF in 12:55 Cena kicks out of the prematch attack just barely and we have almost ten minutes of DiBiase laying a severe beating on Cena. Cena makes the comeback, but out comes Orton, but Orton accidentally hits DiBiase in the confusion and Cena takes out Orton and applies the STF to DiBiase for the tap out to keep the title. (B+)

Afterwards, DiBiase and Orton get into a scuffle, as security gets out to break this up. Both men were a part of Legacy at one time, but during those final months before DiBiase was drafted to Smackdown, their was some simmering tension and that returned when both men are under the same roof.

Out come the Specialists, who brag about how they are the only tag team in WWE that matters and how they are the uncrowned Unified Tag Team Champions. Christian comes out, to confront them for taking out Edge last week. The Specialists invite Christian in the ring to get sent to join Edge but out comes Kofi Kingston, who offers to join Christian. Christian accepts Kofi's help and we have a tag team match.

The Specialists defeated Christian and Kofi Kingston when Lawrence Davis pinned Kofi Kingston with the Spiked Brian Buster in 9:59 The fans are cheering, as the high impact style of Kofi, combined with the technical ability is making them an impressive tag team. Christian is punished in the corner with some impressive double team moves from the Specialists but Christian fights out of the corner and makes the hot tag to Kofi. Kofi rushes into the ring, cleaning house on everyone, but he also gets overzealous and hits a leaping forearm to Christian. This allows the Specialists to hit the Spiked Brain Buster on Kofi for the pin. An ECW team has just defeated a RAW Superstar and a Smackdown Superstar!(B)

After the match, Kofi tries to apologize to Christian but Christian just shoves him down and both men exchange chops. RAW and Smackdown aren't getting along as we are into Bragging Rights. Kofi goes for the Trouble in Paradise but Christian wisely bails. Christian yells that Kofi cheapshotted him on purpose.

The cage lowers as we see CM Punk's blatant disqualification earlier tonight. He's trapped inside the steel cage with a man who has been waiting six month to extract some revenge on one on one, that being Triple H!

WWE Champion CM Punk defeated Triple H after climbing out of the cage when Triple H was handcuffed to the top rope in 19:58 Triple H beats on Punk throughout this match but Punk manages to connect with a low blow and work over the knees of Triple H, to prevent one of his potential ways of victory by climbing out but Triple H fights out. Spinebuster and Pedigree but Punk counter with a high back body drop. GTS is avoided and facebuster! Punk rolls over and reaches into his tights, to pull out what appears to be a chain to clock Triple H to it! The chain as it turns out, is part of a set of handcuffs and Punk beats on Triple H, before snapping one of his wrists with the cuffs. A series of elbows and now he snaps the other end to the top rope! Triple H is defenseless as Punk kicks at him, before taunting him and Punk slowly climbs out of the cage, taunting the cuffed Triple H! Triple H tries to break the handcuffs, but can't quite make it, as Punk is over the top rope and he makes an “X” with his arms, before he drops to the floor to retain the title! (A)

The dastardly Punk has managed to bend the rules in his favor to keep the WWE Championship and will go onto Bragging Rights to face the World Heavyweight Champion John Cena.

ECW On Sy Fy 10/12/10

Out comes Justin Gabriel, who talks about how he could have been moments away from becoming ECW Champion but Nick Dinsmore ran in and attacked him. Gabriel talks about how it was rather curious, that Danielson just happened to not see the attack. Gabriel calls out Danielson but out comes Nick Dinsmore, the Specialists, Kaval, and Frankie Kazarian. Gabriel stands in the ring and Kazarian talks about how Danielson is going be on their side, because he is the personification of what wrestling should be. Dinsmore cuts a promo, talking about how he knows better than anyone how a great wrestler can have his life ruined by being forced to play a trained moneky. He talks about how they're going to give Gabriel a beating and there is nothing he can do about it. The five men attack Gabriel and beat him down, but Goldust rushes down, with a pipe in hand and clears the ring. He says he's going to take down the quintet of wrestlers one by one, starting with Nick Dinsmore tonight. Dinsmore says he'll take out Goldust.

Kaval made Jamie Noble submit to a dragon clutch in 8:55 Kaval beats on Noble but Noble fights back. Both men have an impressive battle going back and forth. Double underhook power bomb is countered with a back up and running kick to the back of the head and Kaval locks on the dragon clutch with a tap out. (B)

Drew McIntyre is out to cut a promo, talking about how he's going to have a match with Evan Bourne, to send a message to Kazarian and his group of rebellious wrestlers. He says that Bourne is obviously in on this and Bourne comes out, talking about how McIntyre has a big mouth and he's going to shut it.

Evan Bourne pinned Drew McIntyre with a high cross body off the top rope in 13:39 Bourne uses his high flying action, beating down McIntyre at the bell but McIntyre takes him out and pounds away at him. Bourne is thrown over the ropes and McIntyre turns to pose, with Bourne hits a high cross body block off the ropes for the pin. Afterwards, McIntyre attacks Bourne, but out comes the Specialists, who attack McIntyre and give him a beating, to a mixed reaction, before Bourne takes his belts and leaves, walking behind the Specialists, but whether he is leaving with them is debated. (C+)

We see Matt Hardy coming down to the ring, talking about how Kazarian claims that he has masterminded these events of the last couple of weeks but he doesn't believe it. He talks about how Kazarian had all of the potential in the world but does not follow up on it, blaming others for his own weaknesses. He talks about how Kazarian has someone else pulling his strings and out comes Kazarian from the back, talking about how he does not need back up to face Matt Hardy. He talks about how Hardy talks about how he's claiming that Kazarian had all of the potential in the world and blames others for his own weaknesses, but he talks about how Hardy should look into the mirror sometimes. He talks about how there is a reason why Matt Hardy has been dubbed “Hardy Jannetty” by some people and he was the weaker link of the Hardy Boyz and that says something what his brother has become. He suggests that Matt Hardy drown his sorrows in some Twinkies. Kazarian claims that he's not having his strings pulled or drinking anyone's Kool-Aid or anything. He tells Hardy to return to Smackdown, where he can curtain jerk for the rest of the time. Hardy decks Kazarian with a forearm smash but the fans boo, as a masked man enters the ring and takes Hardy out with a back stabber type move, before going to the top rope and hitting the Shooting Star Press on Hardy! Mathews talks about how that shooting star press looked rather similar to the one done by Evan Bourne and the masked man, along with Kazarian leaves the ring.

Nick Dinsmore made Goldust submit to a reverse crossface submission hold in 8:55 Dinsmore and Goldust have an awkward brawl and hammering each other, trading punches, kicks, and chops, but Dinsmore takes out the arm of Goldust on the ringpost. He begins to beat on the arm some more, and Goldust makes a comeback but an armdrag into a reverse cross face submission hold gets the tap. (C-)

We see Kazarian, the Specialists, and Kaval make their way down to the ring, but the fans are cheering, as the ECW Champion Bryan Danielson makes his way down to the ring, the belt in hand, as Goldust is trying to fight back with Kazarian with one arm. Both Kazarian and Goldust are right next each other and Danielson rushes them, hitting Goldust with the title belt! The fans are confused, but it is uncertain whether Danielson was aiming for Goldust or Kazarian and out rushes Justin Gabriel to attack Danielson from behind, assaulting him with shots, but he is quickly overwhelmed and beaten down and given a German Suplex. Kazarian and his crew leave the ring, as Danielson is in the corner. Kazarian gives Danielson the thumbs up, as he has just saved Danielson from Justin Gabriel. Gabriel and Goldust are down in the ring.
