National Wrestling Alliance:

An Era Of Wrestling

For many decades, the National Wrestling Alliance has been a major powerhouse on the North American wrestling industry. Expanding its greatness through other promotions, the National Wrestling Alliance didn't become a promotion but a group of promotions who served under one name and that name is the NWA.

Starting at 1948, the NWA grew through the concepts of territories. Territories are regional promotions who kept there spot there and had loyal fans and wrestlers. Each promotion became famous for something like good booking, great shows, legendary superstars and even the best announcers. No territory was left behind and the National Wrestling Alliance remained a powerhouse through the more than a decade.

But a threat has been marked by the NWA when promoter Vince McMahon Sr. created his own promotion, the World Wide Wrestling Federation. The promotion served as a runner up to the NWA. And refusing to serve to the NWA banner, Vince McMahon Sr. created a promotion that would soon become the foundation of Vince McMahon's new product: Sports Entertainment. But not only that, the threat of the NWA grew when Verne Gagne's American Wrestling Association broke off from the NWA banner, making them the third biggest promotions in the United States by the early 1980's. Having wrestlers like Nick Bockwinkel and Hulk Hogan, Verne Gagne had the roster that would become a national powerhouse. But when Vince McMahon Sr. sold his company to his own son the on screen innocent announcer Vince McMahon, the wrestling industry was about to go through major changes.

Vince McMahon Jr. changed his father's promotion into World Wrestling Federation and with the hiring of Hulk Hogan, he was the perfect man to show McMahon's product of Sports Entertainment. For the decade of 1980, it was their decade. Vince McMahon Jr. created a national powerhouse under one promotion and he was the first one. Verne Gagne's AWA came to its down fall but with some good business decisions, they managed to survive but they were backed down to a regional promotion.

The National Wrestling Alliance felt really threatened, losing several popular wrestlers but they never loss their home grown stars like Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes. Jim Crockett Jr. united the some of the NWA promotions and turned it into Jim Crockett Promotions. Having a Television Deal backed up by the corporate network owner, Ted Turner, Jim Crockett and his booking team tried to knock off the WWF out of nationals. But with several booking mistakes, Jim Crockett and his booking team consisting of other wrestlers as well never made it there.

So Ted Turner himself had to make a plan. Purchasing the Jim Crockett Promotions, he turned it into the future international sensation, the World Championship Wrestling.

With Jim Herd as the NWA President, he was the worse of the worse when it came to the wrestling industry. Creating a lot of controversy and using a silly way of booking, the NWA finally almost fell to their death. But NWA Japan cared about death and tried to restore the glory of the NWA.New Japan Pro Wrestling served the NWA banner soon.

Before Jim Herd was fired however, there was the NWA Tri State Alliance. The Eastern Championship Wrestling served the NWA banner. But what the NWA did not see coming was Shane Douglas. When Shane Douglas won the NWA Championship, he cut a promo about the NWA and suddenly threw the belt away, helping on the innovation of extreme. After the AWA's bankruptcy in 1991 and the secession of ECW in 1994, the NWA wasn't what it once was. Through the mid to late 1990s, the all-but-forgotten organization was left with a small collection of independent promotions during the peak of the Monday night ratings war between WCW and the WWF.

After the demise of WCW, the WWF was back on the competition again. But this time, they were the only national promotion in the business, making pro wrestling uninteresting for the people. And it was. Through the post era of the Monday Night Wars, wrestling wasn't what it once was. The WWF was a steady powerhouse and they were losing fans. The NWA was to make its revival on the mission to rise to the national powerhouse.

When Jeff and Jerry Jarrett created on what could be the "WWF Alternative", The Total Nonstop Action. Both Jarrett's agreed to serve under the NWA banner. The WWF didn't see them as a threat yet however. But losing some of their stars made the switch to the NWA TNA. WCW Outcasts like Scott Steiner, DDP, Scott Hall & Kevin Nash joined the Jarrett's in quest to go national. But it wasn't enough. Using the concept of weekly pay per views, it made pretty hard for them to get a push that they needed. In the year of 2002, the same year that TNA was found, Panda Energy purchased most of it ownership and it created a problem for the NWA.

Then at 2004, TNA separated from the NWA. But with the right business decisions, they managed to keep the rights to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and the NWA World Tag Team Championship. The NWA committee were mad about this and once more they were stuck to the independent promotions.

The WWF or now the WWE made some cuts like the releases of Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho and Christian (Jason Reso), they were the biggest workers in the unemployed list. Christian and Jeff Hardy ended up in TNA. Christian made a huge impact to the company though and helped TNA get over.

The NWA was left to be abandoned once more. But an NWA legend loyal enough to restore its glory did the daring. It wasn't the perfect timing but it could be worth putting money on. TNA was about to regret their separation from the NWA.

When Dusty Rhodes tries to restore the glory of the National Wrestling Alliance, he knew it wasn't going to be easy.

Prologue Part 1

National Wrestling Alliance:

A New Era Of Wrestling

Prologue Pt. 1

Where Are They Now

The National Wrestling Alliance was known for creating several talented wrestlers into legends. It was men like the Road Warriors, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, Roddy Piper, and The Funks. And they were responsible for their own mistakes and success. People back in time loved these guys back in the day and they were loved for because they had the quality of being a star. Now today, where are they now??

When the World Championship Wrestling separated from the NWA banner, the banner was served by several regional promotions. The NWA Main Event talent were jumping ship from WCW to WWF. Or some cases are from the WWF to WCW. Ric Flair jumped ship to the WWF then back to WCW. And most of those NWA legends did the same thing as Ric Flair. Only by Vince McMahon, their gimmicks became ridiculous. Dusty Rhodes was given the gimmick of a common man. And wearing yellow polka dots, he was given the nickname: "Common Man" Dusty Rhodes. Ricky Steamboat was done the same as well when he was given the gimmick of "The Dragon." The WWF was a circus, focusing more on the entertainment part of wrestling and not on the traditional aspect. WCW product evolved slowly year by year. From the early 1990's to the mid 1990's their product was entirely almost the same as the WWF. Some of these NWA legends made the transition but some didn't and they were backed down as well just like a young lion would be buried by Ole Anderson.

The early 2006, these NWA legends have been all over the place. After the death of WCW, most of the NWA legends went to the WWE. Ric Flair became a great manager on the WWE, managing Triple H, Randy Orton, and Batista. The group named Evolution. WWE's take of the Four Horsemen. Ricky Steamboat became a road agent for the WWE. And Four Horsemen original member Arn Anderson went to the WWE as well. The Road Warriors helped the tag team division of the WWE stay on top after their top teams left and broke up. However, the tag team division of the WWE fell after the death of Road Warrior Hawk. The famous "Icon" Sting otherwise known as Steve Borden showed signs of retirement but he returned to competition to Jeff Jarrett's TNA. Hardcore Legend Terry Funk was closing on retirement after ECW died. But after many announcements he never retired and stayed as an occasional wrestler. Roddy Piper made occasional appearances as well. Mostly it involved putting a wrestler over and test their skills. Early 2006. These legends are the last of the dying breed. These wrestlers represented the traditional aspects of wrestling and they are going down to extinction.

Some of these NWA legends were on a disappearing act. In order for Dusty Rhodes to restore the NWA, he needs the best minds of the business. The best minds that he is familiar with. Some of these legends are good minds of the wrestling industry. And depending on his relationship with his fellow former workers, he needed to convince them to restore the NWA.

National Wrestling Alliance:

A New Era Of Wrestling

Prologue Pt. 2

Reforming The Committee

Throughout the month of March 2006, Dusty Rhodes made the meetings. His phone calls. He had to do everything that he had to do to reform the committee. The National Wrestling Alliance was on its way to reforming as a one big company. In order to reform the committee he had to call the meeting.

Robert Trobich, the National Wrestling Alliance President approved of this meeting that Dusty Rhodes has called. The National Wrestling Alliance Legend was set out to need anyone's support to make this happen. He needed everything. Money, coverage, trust, loyalty, the wrestlers, the refs, the colour commentators. He needed everything just like a backyard promotion would need to be complete. For somehow, the National Wrestling Alliance needed wrestlers that had talent and charisma. They needed talent.

Dusty Rhodes needed the NWA Committee. It didn't matter as far as everyone would know. And in the beginning of April, the meeting was about to happen. And with the calls that Dusty Rhodes made throughout the last month, these men are now members of the National Wrestling Committee are:

Dusty Rhodes

Bill Behrens

Terry Funk

Roddy Piper

Jim Cornette

Dory Funk Jr.

Robert Trobich

The whole NWA Committee. On the date of April 2006, they had the first meeting as the reformed committee of the once mighty alliance.

National Wrestling Alliance:

A New Era Of Wrestling

Chapter 1

The First Meeting

"Alright folks. This is the new National Wrestling Alliance. Since WCW, we've seen no signs that this promotion will ever reach its national peaks. Since the Monday Night Wars, we legends of today never paid attention to what is going on to the promotion that made us what we are today. Legends. So ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to be the new National Wrestling Alliance President. First of all let us get to business."

Dusty Rhodes was unanimously voted as the new NWA President after a reformation. The committee itself showed hope and trust for the new National Wrestling Alliance president. The feeling of Rhodes being the president was naturally happy. Though he didn't deserve the position, he was the one brave enough to start the promotion with most of the money that he earned during his wrestling career.Could this be his time to put some prestige to the promotion he was most loyal to? Or could this be his chance to ruin it?

"Since the demise of the World Championship Wrestling, the World Wrestling Entertainment has been the dominant promotion since forever. And with their history with the Monday Night Wars, they used the history to do an angle on WCW invading the WWF. That angle could've last longer but the image of WCW was just ruined. That is none of our matters now. Today we are going to restore the glory that the NWA loss during the old times. The honor and prestige that we loss. We've been seen as a disgrace since Shane Douglas threw the belt back then. We lost it all that night. Now we are going to restore the glory and we are going for a mission of a lifetime. We are going to do what Jim Crockett failed to do back in the good ol' days. If we succeed into making it to a national status, we'll fight an on going battle against Vince McMahon and his product of Sports Entertainment. After the split of WCW and NWA, its been a downfall for us. ECW has made a mock of what we represent. Jeff Jarrett and Total Nonstop Action gave up on us two years ago. And they've already given up since. They tried to take the NWA belts instead making of their own. But we have those titles back. Over the next two months we will need to build a roster that is filled with talented youngsters. We will need some veterans however to train some of the wrestlers we sign who has potential to improve. We won't be going to war yet. We'll let TNA and WWE fight each other and let see who'll die first. It is a last man standing battle for them. We'll be observing their on going battle until we reach our goals. It will be a long time before we reach the peak of our game but we need at least two years to make it happen. We are setting goals here my friends. The independent circuit is a good place to find good talent. If we happen to sign anyone for TNA then that's fine as long as they show up on our shows as well. New Japan Pro refused to share some of their talents. But that's alright people. We don't need Japan yet. We'll only focus on the North America. And lastly, with the new NWA happening we will need a television deal. I've been negotiating with several TV networks to let us land a television show. I'll get you people updated on this later on. We are on our way to launching the New National Wrestling Alliance."

The motivation that Dusty Rhodes had inspired the whole committee to get on their shoes and do anything they can do to rebuild or in this case build a solid roster for the new NWA. He knew it was going to be tough but they all had the heart to do it.

National Wrestling Alliance:

A New Era Of Wrestling

Chapter 2

The Hirings Part 1

One of the companies that got involved with the hirings of the National Wrestling Alliance was the Ring Of Honor. A regional company almost based on ECW but with more tradition into it, less extreme and even more cutting edge. Cary Silkin, might as well known to wrestling fans all over the United States as the owner of Ring Of Honor established the company after giving a former ECW backstage staff member Gabe Sapolsky a chance to book his own ECW. Cary saw potential on Sapolsky and he let him run the shows each and every month. In 2002, they made their remark on their first show. Then as the years go by, Ring of Honor have been putting out good shows. For a mark of four years, they managed to survive by not having a huge loyal fan base but the wrestlers themselves who continued to put out solid performance over the course of the four years that Ring of Honor is living on as of right now.

Jim Cornette. Now a member of the NWA Committee is also a member of the Ring of Honor staff. Seeing potential in the company, he looked upon what the roster had to offer. An executive producer as well, he is on screen as an authority figure. The fans loved him as an authority figure thus far. But Jim had something more to do than being just a member of the staff.

Dusty Rhodes had Jim Cornette sneak off to NWA with a couple of the Ring Of Honor superstars and staff. Having no idea with what is going on with his promotion, Cary Silkin agreed with Dusty Rhodes on sending some of his ROH superstars to compete to the NWA. He thought it would be the best for them to as well gain some overness since the National Wrestling Alliance is on their way to getting a television deal. Jim Cornette's job there was done.

Still staying with the growing cutting edge company, he got the following superstars to come to the National Wrestling Alliance:

<a href="http://photobucket.com/images/bryan%20danielson" target="_blank"><img src="http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d88/mrmustard420/IMG_7457.jpg" border="0" alt="bryan danielson Pictures, Images and Photos"/></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com/images/adam%20pearce" target="_blank"><img src="http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m52/droopywalks/AdamPearce.jpg" border="0" alt="Adam Pearce Pictures, Images and Photos"/></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com/images/colt%20cabana" target="_blank"><img src="http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg216/tiffany_tlc2/1004246aww51.jpg" border="0" alt="Colt Cabana Pictures, Images and Photos"/></a>

"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson, "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce & "Classic" Colt Cabana joins the New NWA.

Chapter 2

The Hirings Part 2

The next stop of hirings were the independent promotion of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. A promotion who are owned by wrestlers themselves. Ran by the same wrestlers who owns the company. A promotion based on the Southern California, these owners managed to run a small company around California to gain overness mixing mainstream and hardcore values. They've managed to create a solid fan base from city to city as they go around the state and the state only. The owners: Disco Machine, Excalibur, Scott Lost, Top Gun Talwar, and Super Dragon have seen these what the promotion has become for the first three years of surviving the trap of being out of business. They were going for a long lived promotion.

They've hired guys like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels and many others that have come from several indy promotions. And their fans loved those guys since they were gaining popularity week after week. The Pro Wrestling Guerrillla roster consisted of talents that are ready to be tried out. Talents that shows potential and determination to make it to the big leagues. And even getting some of the biggest names in the indy circuit. Even though the NWA didn't have some connections with the promotion, they were able to contact three of its top stars to work for the NWA as well:

<a href="http://photobucket.com/images/davey%20richards" target="_blank"><img src="http://i499.photobucket.com/albums/rr360/HelloMyNameisNotTheAdmiral/daveyrichards.jpg" border="0" alt="davey richards Pictures, Images and Photos"/></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com/images/super%20dragon" target="_blank"><img src="http://i846.photobucket.com/albums/ab30/16bitninja/Super_Dragon.jpg" border="0" alt="Super Dragon Pictures, Images and Photos"/></a><a href="http://photobucket.com/images/frankie%20kazarian" target="_blank"><img src="http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/zz229/wrestlinglynx/W5/200px-Frankie_Kazarian_1.jpg" border="0" alt="200px-Frankie_Kazarian_1 Pictures, Images and Photos"/></a>

The Hirings Part 3</span></span></p><p> </p><p>

The idea of going international. It was something that was already done. Something that the fans have already seen. Back in the good ol' days of the dying NWA and the rising WCW, Japan took over most parts of the NWA and even having Japanese non wrestler Seiji Sagkaguchi of the New Japan Pro Wrestling become the president of the National Wrestling Alliance. We saw the NWA grow to the Japanese territories and the Japanese promotions tried to restore the glory that the National Wrestling Alliance loss. But it seems that they couldn't do it because of not having enough fan base to get as a foundation. </p><p> </p><p>

Mexico as well the NWA has grown there. The near country of Mexico took over the Middleweight title and brought it to Consejo Mundial De Lucha Libre and there the NWA tried to grow. Getting some fan base, both CMLL and the NWA got the benefits.</p><p> </p><p>

But the 2006 scene of the international scene of the NWA seems to grow a little bit more. Japanese legend Mitsuharu Misawa, owner of Pro Wrestling NOAH was able to negotiate with Dusty Rhodes into letting his selected wrestlers to go to the United States and wrestle for the NWA. CMLL didn't have anything to offer considering themselves bigger than the NWA since Mexico had small territories. However, the AAA has one superstar familiar to US wrestling fans that they offered and the NWA took it. AJPW had its contributions as well, sending a superstar who had star presence with the US Fans. And now the international members of the NWA:</p><p> </p><p>

The Television Deal</span></span></p><p> </p><p>

The idea of having a Television deal was more usual. With a size big enough to have it, the NWA Committee didn't waste time in getting a television deal. Over the course of the first month of the new NWA, they didn't hold shows yet. The Committee figured it was smart rather than doing hirings and running shows at the same time. The NWA haven't hired a referee yet. It was rather sad. </p><p> </p><p>

The negotiations of a television deal was rather a tough road for the NWA rather easy. With the product they couldn't get an afternoon or late evening shows. And as well not being an established company, they couldn't get an establish prime time Television slot as well. Having trouble with getting a television network on the big leagues, we have to go to the other networks.</p><p> </p><p>

So at May 25, 2006, the television network of ESPN2 has agreed with the NWA to debut the new NWA wrestling show:</p><p> </p><p>

2,000 fans are screaming at the Mid Atlantic arena as the debut of National Wrestling Alliance comes to the hometown of many Mid Atlantic legends. As they cheer, they hear the music of the "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes. He comes down to the ring with a microphone.

"Thank you. Thank you everyone. I hope that everyone of you are having a great time as of right now. First of all let me start off with the history of this company. For generations many stars have risen upon this alliance. This promotion. Men like myself and Ricky Steamboat and Ric Flair have become legends on this promotion. It's been a long time since I've worked for this company and I'm happy to announce as the owner of this company, I am happy to open up the New National Wrestling Alliance to each and everyone of you NWA fans from the past, present and to our future fans out there!! It's time for this company to be restored and rise up to the ranks of the American promotions scene. We've been out there but we've never risen to the ranks like TNA or the WWE. But tonight is a good start. One of my key goals for this promotion is to have a champion. So I'd like to present to you one of the most prestigous belts in the wrestling industry, the NWA World Heavyweight title."

"We will be running a tournament and each and every week there will be a tournament match. And the last two finalist will be out there at our first Pay Per View event, Glory Of Champions to compete for the Heavyweight Title. Once again I hope all of you are having a good time and it's time for the National Wrestling Alliance to impress you fans. Thank you."

Dusty Rhodes exits the ring as his music hits. Screaming fans are worked up to see what the NWA has to offer.

The match between the once hoped veteran and a future prospect. Eddie Kingston starts off the match with several hard hitting moves following a series of destructive moves that almost put the veteran Kanyon to a near retirement.

However Chris Kanyon tries to go for a comeback after countering one of Kingston's moves. He goes for a clothesline but Kingston ducks and connects several punches that took down Kanyon.

Kingston was dominating the match through the end and he showed the fans that he's one of the bright prospects of the NWA. But Chris Kanyon had to reign supreme after he scored a schoolboy roll up on Kingston as the ref went for the three count.

Seen backstage is the newest NWA signing, Anthony Carelli. And with him is interviewer of the NWA, Stevie Ray.

"Yo, Stevie Ray here and I am with the newest NWA signing Anthony Carelli and Tony, what a wonderful night."

"A wonderful night? Hell yeah its a wonderful night because I'm here. That's right Tony Carelli. And let me tell you something Stevie Ray, I'm one of the best prospects here in this promotion. One of the better man here and on that NWA tournament, I'll make sure that I'll go to Glory Of Champions and become the new National Wrestling Alliance World Heavyweight Champion of the World!!"

"Tonight you gotta face another bright young star in the NWA and his name is I believe Adam Pearce."

"Who?"

"Adam Pearce. They say that he works on a very old school style of wrestling."

"Forget old-school Stevie. I'm the new school and I'll teach Pearce that new is better than old."

Tony Carelli leaves the set as we go back to the ringside.

An open match between two foreigners. Sheamus showed his strength but when he showed his weakness, L.A. Park tried to take advantage of it.

A quick and short match but it gave the time for the two men to showcase their talent. In the end, L.A. Park pins Sheamus after hitting a piledriver.

"Yo and welcome back here backstage. I'm right here with Chris Hero and Chris, how does it feel to be on such a company like the NWA?"

"I'll tell you how it feels Stevie, it feels great. It feels awesome. And let me tell you this too Stevie Ray, the National Wrestling Alliance has been around for years but they have never succeeded. And you wanna know why? It's because they haven't seen the talents that is around the independent circuit. You see Stevie, the independent circuit is filled with talented workers. Guys like me, we've never made it to the big companies but we kept our dignities and showed the fans here that we are the best and those big companies are wrong. Myself, I've become one of the best competitors and tonight I'll prove it. And it looks like that Dusty Rhodes has signed one of his biggest signing yet!!!"

"Who??"

"ME!!!!" Haha yeah man. 100% pure perfection right here. Your brand new hero NWA, Chris Hero. I'm 100% better than anyone else and tonight I'll show it when I go against Bryan Danielson.

You see Bryan, you and I have some history and in this tournament for that NWA World Title, I'll show why they call me a better man than you are. I'll show you Danielson. You might be the best in the world but I'm the best in the universe!! And tonight marks a legendary main event where I beat the Best In The World on the quarter finals of the NWA World Title tournament. That would be an embarrassment. I'll see you the ring Danielson."

And with that, Chris Hero heads to his locker room.

"Well folks, there is Chris Hero."

A one fall match where the odds are almost one sided. Jake Hager showed his dominance even though he's still trying to make some transitions from his version of wrestling to the NWA version of wrestling. Josh Abercrombie didn't look as good as he was expected but he showed some dominance in the match. Overall, these two workers had a pretty worked match and Jake Hager ended it with a Falling Gutwrench Powerbomb.

Backstage once again, we see Don Callis and a menacing MMA fighter.

"First let me just say that all of you had seen me before. You have known me from many names. But right now you already now me. Why did Don Callis come to the NWA? Simple. Very very simple my friend. And that is to show you old school suckers that there is a new style of wrestling and my friend right here is bringing it!!"

Callis gets some bad crowd reaction from our NWA fans.

"Oh whatever. Anyways, here my friend is none other than MMA fighter Tom Howard. That's right. The ever so popular Tom Howard. He might have loss some battles but I'm telling you that here in the NWA, he's going to make an impact. Believe it because you the NWA roster are going to fear him. And if you don't, let's just see where it gets you!!!"

NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament

Quarter Round 1

Adam Pearce vs. Anthony Carelli

One of the matches who had almost the same style. Anthony Carelli's debut got some minor crowd reaction but just wait later. Some fans might think that Carelli is an over rated superstar and thus be pushed to the moon. But right here proves a lot of things. Mr. "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce tries to show off a good debut here and he kept trying. Despite having better performance than his opponent, he used that advantage to try to win the contest and move on.

These two men got the fans going till the end. The action that they put out was pretty solid but it was the same quality as the other matches however.

A fairly long match, it had to be ended with Adam Pearce winning after getting a Spike Piledriver connected. Pearce moves on to the tournament.

After his match, he grabs a microphone. "That's one." Then the ref raises his hand as a sign of victory.

Winner: Adam Pearce

NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament

Quarter Round 2

Chris Hero vs. Bryan Danielson

An intense battle between two of the best indy workers out there in the US. Bryan Danielson is recently the Ring Of Honor World Champion and Chris Hero is a part of one of the most experienced tag team called the Kings of Wrestling. But bringing Chris Hero as a singles competitor might help his career on this promotion and as well for himself. Bryan Danielson is one of the best and that could be admitted by several legends.

A memorable experience, these two were put on the main event for a reason and that reason is that they pull off a great match together and they connect with the fans. Bryan Danielson got a lot of major great crowd reaction from the fans and Hero got a lot of heat from them.

A fast paced action, there were a lot of kicks involved in this match. And as well a lot of technical wrestling. I guess that you can call these two solid all round competitors who never made it to the big leagues. But here in the NWA, you are in the big leagues.

Chris Hero was about to go for a Hangman's Clutch but Bryan Danielson countered the move with the Cattle Mutilation, one of the most popular submission holds courtesy of its user. Hero quickly taps out but he tried to reach for the ropes. It was just to painful for him. Danielson moves on.

Winner: Bryan Danielson

L.A. Park vs. Chris Hero

Entirely, this was a solid opening match between two good workers of their own rights. L.A. Park or better known as the Chairman of WCW under the name La Parka got some good pop reaction from the fans everywhere. He still got some presence to the US fans even though he mostly works at the Mexican Promotion AAA. Chris Hero still got some heat from the crowd as the fans despise him because of his character. The match was completely over the top solid. Finally a better ref we got, the match was pure quality. From kicks to punches to DDT's and Body slams, these two fought with no mercy.

L.A. Park was a good crowd favorite and he was building up for a win. But Chris Hero sets out for a good come back as he hits several moves that mixed both high flying and technical style. L.A. Park soon found himself in a Hangman's Clutch that caused him to tap out.

As his music hits all over the arena, he goes to the announcer's table and grabs a microphone. He goes back to the center of the ring.

"Get that trash out of here!!!"

The fans started booing Hero for that comment. And yeah L.A. Park was leaving the ring.

"Yeah you all like that? You better get used to it!"

More heat for Chris Hero.

"Last week Bryan Danielson winning was a fluke. I was right there going for the Hangman's Clutch when he countered it with his ever so famous Cattle Mutilation. Seriously Bryan you need to change the name of that move. Last week you've beaten me fair and square. That for now I'll admit. But there is one thing that I don't believe and neither will anyone in the NWA locker room is that you are the best in the world. Seriously Bryan, you think that you are the best in the world. It doesn't really matter whether you are better than anyone here. Because tonight I had proven myself that I am better than you. You saw how I pummeled whatever you call that guy these days now. What's his name? L.A. Park? La Parka? It doesn't matter because I'm the best in the universe. Perfectly trained, I'm the personification of perfect wrestling. And tonight I've just proven myself right there. So if you even get that title Danielson, that NWA title, you know what is coming for you and that is none other than me. The Awesome Chris Hero. Now remember that and try to put it into your empty head!"

His music hits all over the arena once was as he exits the ring.

This wasn't your ordinary squash/jobber match. Unlike Sport Entertainment companies, this was a fairly long squash match. Almost the same as what would the length of a dark match would probably be. Sylvester Terkay defines a good monster heel as he destroyed his opponent in the ring with good brawling skills and some technical style of wrestling. Onadera proved to the fans however that his talent is worth keeping on the NWA.

Just guess who won.

"Welcome back to NWA Showdown ladies and gentlemen. Last week was a great debut I'll admit. So without further ado, let me introduce you to one of my guest at this time. He's got a profile of a former football player. A young and talented athlete, please welcome fans the one and only Jake Hager."

"It's a pleasure to be here Stevie."

"Now tell me Jake Hager. How does it feel like to compete in your first wrestling match?"

"First wrestling match. My match against Josh Abercrombie last week was an amazing adventure to an introduction of wrestling for me Stevie. Myself and I fought a good battle and to show each and everyone of these fans the action that they deserve to see. I got a chance to show what I got and it seems that the crowd has a good effect on the outcome of the match."

"Jake Hager, now that you got a solid debut last week, how much impact are you willing to show the NWA?"

"What kind of impact you ask? As a rookie, I'm willing to make the biggest impact there is to make here on the NWA. guys like Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat made their mark on the same promotion that we are on and they made their impact to even wrestling itself. Now it's my time to shine here on one of the most prestigous promotions there are in the wrestling industry. I've going to start to make the transition and hey you might not know I could do better than those legendary wrestlers mentioned. I'm an All American. And fans, I won't disappoint. I'll try my best to at least not to."

With that, Jake Hager leaves an All American smile to the camera.

A match of two styles, Mike Quackenbush makes his first ever NWA appearance. The owner of CHIKARA comes to the NWA to wrestle. The fans of the so ever indy veteran gets some good pop from them. Still a stale mixed of reactions are received by Adam Pearce since he's still getting known to the public and of course the NWA fans.

These two guys showed some good action that the fans came to pay and see. Adam Pearce is starting to show more bad guy antics such as hitting cheap shots to his opponent. Mike Quackenbush shows Pearce that his actions aren't acceptable when he drops several high flying moves on Pearce. The fans are getting hyped for the ending. Quackenbush was going to go for a three count after hitting a dropkick. But trying to get more momentum for a big finish, Adam Pearce ended up halting Mike's momentum and hits a Spike Piledriver for a win.

This more closely could be a potential squash match if Anthony Carelli didn't have any talent in him. But in reality, he's a pretty good wrestler and to keep around on the house.

The fans were pretty big on Carelli and got some crowd pop. Tom Howard however was pretty known as a loser but Callis helped his image get pretty over with the fans.

The match was more likely balancing brawling and the MMA shoot style which is getting popular over the traditional wrestling. Carelli tried not to get pulp like a lemon and loss with some honor left on him as Howard completely destroyed him.

"Right now ladies and gentlemen, I am right here with one of the veterans of the wrestling industry. People trade tapes to see this guy. Best known for his run with the Extreme Championship Wrestling, right here with me is the King of Old School, Steve Corino. Tell me Steve, who's this pretty lady with you?"

"Her? Well let me introduce to her to you Stevie. Her name: Ms. Traci Brooks. My executive assistant."

"Well she's pretty. Anyway, Steve Corino, you are here in the NWA and with the records it seems that you have won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship once in your lifetime."

"Sure did."

"And tonight, you are going to take part of the NWA World Heavyweight Championship tournament. How does that.."

Corino interrupts.

"Stevie, you don't get it first of all. You didn't win the title so don't speak anything about it while I'm here. They call me the King of Old School for a reason Stevie Ray and that's because I'm the King. I've represented the ways of Old School wrestling in every way possible. All the cheats, all the techniques. Old School is like a video game my friend and you win because you know every way to win. And in this old school tournament, I know exactly how I am going to get my way to the finals. I've done everything. And anything else left to be done in an old school way you can sure ask me. And being the King of Old School means the best so don't forget about that!"

"Corino, tonight you are going to face one of best Japanese brawlers, Takeheshi Morishima."

"I've seen this fella wrestle back at Pro Wrestling NOAH. I've seen this guy's technique. And I just know the way to beat him. Stevie Ray, I'll make sure that I move onto to the next round and I'll make sure by the end of the tournament, I'll be the National Wrestling Alliance Champion once again. Now count on that."

And with that, Corino and Ms. Brooks heads to the ring.

NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament

Quarter Round 3

Takeheshi Morishima vs. Steve Corino w/ Ms. Brooks

King Of Old School Steve Corino makes his in ring debut against another superstar making his debut. So many debuts for a starting company. The King Of Old School promised that he'll make his way to the finals. Well he'll be facing a very tough opponent. A great puroresu competitor, a Japanese wrestler that can brawl like any other. Takeheshi shows his talent to the US wrestling fans.

Steve Corino didn't allow himself to lose since the favor of the match was on his opponent's side. The fans gave a lot of hopes for Takeheshi and he's starting to get noticed by the fans. Giving Morishima several cheap blows throughout the match, he was able to destroy the momentum that his opponent was building up to beat him. Shame for Morishima. And speaking of old school blues, Corino hits a devastating Old School kick that took down the Japanese Sensation. Corino moves onto the tournament.

Winner: Steve Corino

NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament

Quarter Round 4

Yoshihiro Tajiri vs. Masato Tanaka

This match had a lot to offer. Both men who had experience in the US scene, Tajiri is best known for his runs with WWF and ECW. And Masato Tanaka is known to the US fans for his run on ECW. Both of these men have been on a same company once and their confrontation on the NWA could be a great epic battle.

The last tournament round, these two had a lot to offer on the table. Their approach to Pro Wrestling you can call the same or different but either way they showed an action packed match filled with submissions, kicks, punches and suplexes. Tajiri showed more of his inner wrestling skills on television and he showed to the fans that he's getting better and better. Tanaka whose last appearance on the US was a very long time ago, showed excellent comebacks. These two fought their way to fill in the spot for the semi finals. In a quick sequence, Tajiri hits a Buzzsaw Kick after spitting out the Asian Mist. Next stop, Semi Finals.
