atomzero
1/26/10 Dharma breaks down the main event Barry Kingman Barry Kingman is the 35-year old son of wrestling great, Ray "The Crippler" Kingman. Barry has wrestled all over the world, though rarely under his own name. The less competitive promotions of the world have always considered him a solid wrestler, though somewhat lacking in what they call "star quality," and as a result, He's been forced to don hideous clown masks for much of his under appreciated career. What Barry may lack in intangibles, he makes up for with a fine grasp of fundamental wrestling and a reputation for putting forth his best effort in every match. Barry's 'meat and potatoes' style belies some real agility, and his understanding of the fight game leads many to believe that he has a future in the corner. For now, Barry has his best shot to showcase his talent to the world, to show them what he can do in a real competitive wrestling ring. The pressure is certainly on, as Kingman no doubt faces the biggest match of his life tomorrow night. D.C Rayne D.C. Rayne is many things that Barry Kingman is not. Rayne is a young athlete who has has shown promise, and indeed already proven himself a very capable tag team wrestler, winning titles in two different promotions. While a competent technician, Rayne excels by combining those skills with a bruising, intense style that that takes many off guard with its direct approach. Having already shown flashes of what it takes to be a champion, the ultimate question is of how well Rayne can transfer his tag team success into the world of singles competition. Rayne is still young, but his career is poised to take a giant leap forward tomorrow night. Becoming the first champion of GLCPW at such a young age would put him in a position to be the face of the organization for years to come. Dharma's pick This match is likely to be a bruising, direct conflict between the two participants. Rayne will seek to press most of the action, while Kingman will try to trap him Rayne will have youth, and likely the crowd on his side, but Kingman will have experience, somewhat superior technique, and speed on his own. I believe that that Barry Kingman is a man on a mission, and will not be denied. I choose Kingman to prevail tomorrow night.
atomzero
1/28/10 Let it Rayne D.C. Rayne defeated Barry Kingman Saturday Night by climbing to the top of a ladder and retrieving the GLCPW Competitive Heavyweight Title Belt. It must be said that the straight forward, flashless styles of both wrestlers left some fans wanting with regards to excitement. Still, it must be said that competitive wrestling of this kind is still a new concept. As wrestlers and fans alike begin to accommodate themselves with this new style, exciting matches will come again and again. With this victory, 26 year-old D.C. Rayne finds himself atop the competitive wrestling world, indeed poised to become it faceplate. Match of the Night Match of the Night honors have to go to Rafael Ruiz and Oleg Dorosklov. While famous in their home nations, these two were relatively unknown to the American public before last night. In a compelling technical match-up, Ruiz made Dorosklov submit to his patented Ruiz Wrench, and while Dorosklov took the loss, he has undoubtedly raised his profile among GLCPW fans. it was clear that the public is excited to see more from both of these excellent athletes.
