I think it would be good to change the play calling interface. A coaches clipboard/script could be used. Just an easy down and distance outline (ie 1st and 10, 2nd and long, 2nd and <5 ect) where during gameplanning one could drag and drop plays from the playbook under these headings and then this gameday clip board could be the interface you use during games to choose plays. I think this would be more user friendly and quicker than the current system. Though I am not any type of programmer and dont know the feasability of this. I read a post below with the suggestion of color coding plays in the interface as to if they were formations that were to a teams strength or weakness and I think that is a great suggestion as well.
